Shots fired, kicks and punches came out of nowhere and everyone was screaming. Everyone was in disarray and only the flashes of gunshots can give them a momentary vision of what's really happening. 

"Hey stop shooting your hurting your guest!"
"I was aiming for Gantes!"
"You obviously did that on purpose!"
"Shut up!"

Bang! Bang! Bang!~

It quickly escalated to a gun feast as continues flash of gun flares illuminated the place. But every time they shoot, another one would get hurt or worse. 

Gantes was very quick to respond and dodge their bullets making them commit numerous friendly fires. His erratic but quick agility made it even more difficult to catch him. He showed no mercy to everyone.

"Gantes stop! I am commanding you!" Jaguar tried to use his authority as a so-called father but the next thing he got was a choke to his neck. Seeing that Gantes did not listen to him, he pulled his gun and aimed it at Gantes's head.

BANG!~

Gantes dodged the bullet as it passed just beside his left eye. It left with a scratch about two inches long on his left side of his eyes. Gantes grabbed Jagua by the neck and released all his rage with brutal punches. With a scream full of hatred and pain, Jagua's life was ended by his own "creation".

The sound of pounding and agony can be heard across the room. A few minutes later, everything was shrouded in darkness and silence. An occasional groaning can be heard as well from dying men.

The gunshots rang too loud and it caught the attention of the residents nearby. It did not take long for the armed police authorities to come and surrounded the whole place.

The next day, shocking news of a mass massacre of two drug cartels brought shock to the community. Police reported that only one young man was able to survive their suspected "bloody conflict" between two drug lords who are both found dead together with their respective gang members. The presence of a dead body of the missing police named Ricardo Dalisay became a hot topic as well. 

The only survivor who was a minor claimed that he was responsible for all the killings but the police suspected him to have hallucinated due to drugs and may have been lucky to have survived such brutal battle. 

The news became a hot media topic for many months. Gantes, the only survivor had undergone rehabilitation and community service for two years for all his reported violations. No one believed regarding his claims of killing everyone. He decided to devote his life to realize his promise to Mr. Ricardo before he died - to start a normal life, get educated and stay out of trouble.

After three years of rehabilitation and self-study, Gantes was able to start a new life as a student thanks to Mr. Ricardo's contacts and help from the government programs to drug addicts.  but due to his years of experience stealing and beating people, he struggled to remove such habits.

Gantes finished high school with great struggle. Seeing his bad records, college schools inside the city did not favor for his enrollment. He decided to leave the city and found himself finally accepted in a small community college in Bantayan Island. 

Apparently, for some unknown reason, the school president approved his college application despite knowing his background. It made Gantes curious but the president declined to give him any explanation. He was only told that he deserves a chance.

Gun-Ho changed his mind.
"Right. What am I gonna do with the skills certificate? I will have a pay increase about 200,000 or 300,000 won with the environmental technician or welder certificate. I will still work at a factory. Fuck! Why not have an adventure myself? Whatever it is I choose to do, my life won't get any worse."
Finally, Gun-Ho decided to study computerized accounting; it was a firm decision. Gun-Ho had a fear of failure, of course, because he knew he was not good with numbers.
"I used to get a zero on my math exam in school. That's why I chose a college of liberal arts over a college of natural science even though it was a low ranked college in the countryside. Also, I had strived for a passing grade in the civil service exam to become a level-9 government employee because I didn't have to take a math exam for it. I have been trying to avoid math all my life, and I am wondering if I can handle computerized accounting."
Still worrying about it, Gun-Ho made a call to a vocational school that offered computerized accounting courses. The school was located in Uijeongbu City; Gun-Ho couldn't find any vocational school with the course in Yangju.
"Is it a vocational school? Do you provide a level-2 computerized accounting course at night?"
"Are you currently working?"
"Yes, I am."
"We have two types of programs for students who are currently working: evening program and weekend program. The weekend program is already closed, and the evening program is still open."
"What time does the evening class start?"
"From 7 to 10 PM."
"Is it part of government-sponsored program?"
"Yes, if you have the Tomorrow Learning Card, you can take the class."
"Do you accept male students?"
"Haha, who cares whether you are male or female? Anyone can take the class."
"Is there any qualification requirement?"
"No there isn't. It doesn't matter whether you are a junior high school graduate or college graduate."
"Ok then. I will come and visit the school soon."
Gun-Ho checked the distance from home to the school.  It was over 40 km round-trip; it was tight but it was still doable if Gun-Ho made some effort into it.
"I will have to spend extra on gas, but why don't I give it a try?"
 
Gun-Ho got off his work at 5:30 in the afternoon. He was supposed to get off at 5, but with two 15-minute breaks in the morning and afternoon, he had to add 30 minutes. Production workers couldn't go on without 15-minute breaks because of high physical work intensity. Companies varied in how they gave breaks during work hours, but usually, they gave a 15-minute break after two hours of intense work from 8 to 10 AM.
During work hours, workers were not even supposed to go pee because they all have to work simultaneously. When one was finished, it passed on to the next, so if one person stopped working to go to pee, then the next person had to stop his work as well until the first person returned. They picked up the work at 10:15 after the first break and at noon, the morning work ended. The afternoon work started at 1. They took a 15-minute break at 3; during this time, they went to the bathroom and ate some snacks like bread and milk. After the break, they worked intensely until 5:30.
"So I get off at 5:30. I then wash my hands, change my clothes, clean up a little, and return to my room at OneRoom. It's 6:30 then. It will take about 30 minutes to drive to the vocational school, so I can get to the class on time. I won't have time for dinner though. I will be hungry."
 
Gun-Ho registered for the class in the vocational school. There were about 20 students, all females except 3. Gun-Ho was worried he would be the only male in the class. He felt relieved when he saw 2 other men.
"Since today is our first day of class, I will talk about basic accounting principles and fundamental accounting concepts."
A female instructor started explaining; she looked about the same age as Gun-Ho. The class was somewhat interesting. On the second day, the instructor talked about the accounting cycle; Gun-Ho didn't fully understand. When she talked about financial statements, and profit and loss statements, Gun-Ho found it difficult to understand not only the terminology but the concept too.
"You all understood the concept of a fixed asset, current asset, fixed liability, and current liability, right?"
"Not so sure."
"Those who are not sure, please go home and read the handouts one more time."
Gun-Ho had a hard time understanding the concept even after reading the handouts several times."
"Gosh, maybe I shouldn't be here."
Gun-Ho doubted whether he had the aptitude for accounting. He didn't even start the practical training, but he was already lost in doing accounting with account titles. He had no idea what debt or credit meant. They would start Recording and Retrieving Business Transaction next week, and maybe he should give up now.
 
Jong-Suk started giggling while talking with Gun-Ho on the phone.
"You started to learn accounting? You used to study for the level-9 government employee civil service exam. Is it doable?" 
"I gave some thought to it. I don't think I have the right aptitude for accounting."
Jong-Suk giggled again. "Accounting is not for everyone. Even the commercial college graduates found it difficult."
"But the women seem good at it. I don't think they graduated from a commercial college."
"I guess doing accounting involves meticulous record-keeping.  Maybe that's why women tend to have an aptitude for it."
"What about you? How are you doing with learning welding skills?"
"Yeah, I am having fun. Now, I can do gas welding and arc welding."
"Good for you."
"Bro, you sound a little down. What's going on? What did you do yesterday? Did you go there?"
"Go where? I was racking my brains all day."
"Let's go fishing and get some fresh air. It has been a while."
"Okay. Let's go."
"Damn. You sound really down, and now I'm feeling down too."
"Sorry man."
 
Cosmos flowers at the fishing site were falling down. It was chilly and windy.
"The season is changing. It's cold already."
"Uh? Cheongdam Chairman Lee is already here."
"The man is so into fishing too."
Gun-Ho and Jong-Suk walked down the lake, carrying their fishing gears and bags.
"You are already here. How have you been?"
"Oh, Gun-Ho and Jong-Suk. It has been a while. How come you don't come here often anymore? I didn't see you last week."
"Yes, we have been busy lately. We are going to vocational schools."
"Vocational school? Good for you. What are you learning?"
"I am taking the level-2 computerized accounting, and Jong-Suk is taking welding skills class."
"Computerized accounting? Oh, I see. You made the right decision. How's the class? Do you like it?"
"No, not really. I have no idea what they are talking about, and I don't think I have the right aptitude for it."
"Haha. Is that so? Jong-Suk, what about you? How is the welding class?"
"Yes, it's fun. Now I can do most types of welding."
"Haha. That's good for you. Gun-Ho, which part of computerized accounting do you find difficult?"
"The terminology used in Balance Sheet is new to me and it's very difficult. During the hands-on practice training, journal entries were confusing as well."
"Balance sheet is difficult… Do you know who created it?"  
"Huh? The person who created it? Probably a famous scholar did a long time ago."
"No."
Chairman Lee shook his head.
"Neither a prominent scholar nor Ph.Ds from SKY commercial colleges."
"Then who was it?"
"The balance sheet was created by people from a low class, the slaves."
"What? Slaves? That's unbelievable!"

Yesterday was my high school graduation day. It still took me by surprise how all of those years where you built friendships, bonds, and a whole version of yourself will be wipe away by one ceremony. 

How stupid is it? The thought ran in my head the whole graduation day. We literally practiced for a week, got all dressed up just to be covered by a piece of cloth that we borrowed and should be returned the next day, and forcefully clap on a scripted program.

BS.

But, no. Yesterday was not my graduation day. Today is actually my first day of college. I had no sleep last night, just like whenever I get too excited. Mainly because I got no clue what awaits in the remaining hours of the day, there was an unsettling feeling that stayed in my stomach through the night.

But then again, nope. A week has passed through college and so far, meh. 

My brain would automatically repeat all those important parts that happened every time I wake up from sleep. Maybe it's my way of reminding myself about how I got myself to where I am today so I won't be lost on what I'm supposed to be at the moment. Or maybe, I'm just plain crazy.

I got no friends. I even crawled myself to this college since, apparently, no one wants to accept me. I've been through a lot of programs, asking if they have a slot. Failing the entrance exam definitely made it a nightmare. Deans would be enlightened at first 'til they go through my files. I've got at least five mean glares from different deans in different colleges. 

Who would have thought getting in a state university could be this devastating? At that time, I just wanted to get in. regardless of the course.

Being somebody who's done art all her life, to be rejected from an art program was like a punch from the gods. However, I got no time to whine. 

Then finally, I got accepted in this technology course. Computer technology something. The dean, without a doubt, was a joke. He literally gave me a form and I fill it up longer than he had to type my name in the list of students enrolled. Jokes could also be blessings, I guess.

Still, even with all those flashback running in my mind every morning, I don't have a single clue on what I'm doing, where I'm at, and why.

Two people with an apparent conflict with time. Two hearts burning with love, passion,  and determination to defy the timing's glitch. 

A story of two people connected by the same passion. But in the case of Yoomi and Ax, their constant spontaneous encounter with each other is filled with disastrous timing. It is as if the universe would make them meet just to remind them how impossible it is for them to connect their feelings and ignite their spark.
Long story short: after being deliriously in love with Ax, Yoomi got over him by moving away, transferring to a new school, and  drifting her feelings to someone else. But after one important night of her life, Ax confesses his feelings for Yoomi. And so a series of unfortunate events goes on.

It was 6.30 when we packed all my stuff put it in the back of our car. It will take 3 hours to get to university of Lethbridge from Red Deer. I decided to stay at  college hostel my parents didn't agree at first,I have driving license they said I could drive, actually they were afraid to sent me there alone.
      
when I looked out through the cars window I could see large mountain and hill tops fading away becoming a little dot in the distance. The view of River from hairpin is the best part of this journey.

I was thinking about all the new things I'm going to encounter in the new environment, suddenly a thought occurred to me,I have been feeling guilty about lying to my parents all this time. They never knew about my relationship with Chris, they thought I was like this because of my aunt's death. Aunt Mary died around that time and I was really attached to her, I should say it also affected me ,it was like adding oil to the already burning fire.I didn't lie to them directly but I never denied it when they assumed my mental breakdown was because of that . Even if I feel guilty about not telling them anything,I don't want to let them know if I get another chance .I don't want them to know anything about those things. I'm considering it as a closed chapter in my life. A really dark one that I don't  want to remember about it even in my dreams.

I'm going to have a fresh start now .New place ,new people,new friends ,new everything. I have to start anew and cope up with all those months and years I lost .And make most out of all things from this 3 years of college life.

At 9.30 we arrived at the university campus . The welcoming program of the first year students were held in the college auditorium at 10 am. since we were early we decided to walk around the college for a little exploration.we just walked around university campus from  department to department .At 10 the program started ,the principal talked about how happy he is to welcome all of us to this college and wished as all the best for the future. After that we walked back to my faculty building there was a small welcoming program arranged by the teacher's and senior students. I introduced myself and there was a ice breaking section along with other games.

shortly after the programs ended we walked back to our car . mum and dad was a little emotional but they tried their best not to show it outside ,they drove back to red deer .

our college hostel is not so far from the main campus building.my room was on the 3rd floor. when I entered my room there was already a girl in there,her name was Elsa and she was 1st year student in the department of physics. I arranged my belongings in my room .  Thus my first day of college ended nicely.

Next morning my class started at 10 am. our professor introduced himself and talked about our major and also told as to print out our syllabus. My first class  was really boring.only thing I'm happy about is I got two new friends. Eleanor and Clare .They are very nice. They were already best friends so I decided to join there gang. Lisa my school friend also got admission in this department, since we knew each other and were friends before she also joined our gang.

In the lunch break, were scrolling through the college building, just some exploration classes were boring every professor wants as to introduce ourselves before starting the class.we were repeating same sentences in every period so it was super boring I think by the end of the day we will learn everyone's name. we finished our lunch and were about to go back to our faculty building ,I looked back upon hearing a familiar voice in the corridor. I wasn't wrong it was Alex my best friend from high school. I know I should be happy seeing him there but instead I felt sadness and anger . He never said anything about coming here I walked to their group. He wasn't standing facing my direction so he didn't see me coming.
"Alex I'm so surprised to see you here,I never knew you where going to be here"I said , when he heard my voice he looked back surprised.
"Nammy I'm "he was trying to speak I cut him off by saying"I think we were not that close to discuss things like this to each other, okay.see you around bye" I immediately turned around and walked back to my friends ,I heard him calling my name from behind.
"Nammy I'm sorry"I heard him say.
I was so angry I know if I stay there any longer I won't be able to control my anger. How could he do this he knew Every single thing about me and I didn't even know this simple thing about him. whole day I was so angry and sad at the same time ,I couldn't believe he could do something like this to me ...

I'm Lester Vincent Guerrero. Nineteen years old and a first year college student under Accountancy. I'm a varsity in our university. The captain of our basketball team, to be specific.


I'm the class valedictorian in my high school days and I'm proud for being that. Wala naman akong pinagsisihan sa mga desisyon ko sa buhay, tanging ang pamilya ko lang yata ang may pinagsisisihan.


At iyon ay noong ipinanganak ako.


I'm the eldest sa aming magkakapatid. Tatlo kami actually, at ang dalawang nahuli ay isang babae at lalaki.


The second one named Sapphire and yes she's a girl. She's also a first year college, mas matanda lang ako sa kanya ng buwan at after nun ay ipinangak na rin siya. Kambal nga raw sabi nila at nauna lang daw ako.


At first hindi ko pinaniniwalaan iyon, but after hearing some rants at chismis sa kung saan-saan ay unti-unti ko na ring pinaniniwalaan iyon.


Sapphire is the campus president for this year. She likes running errands and making events in our school. Siya ang halos gumagawa ng schedule ng mga programs with the help of her club.


She's a dean's lister like me. Actually she's the Salutatorian last year at halos kalabanin niya ako sa acads. We do our assignments na magkasabay at nagtutulungan sa mga bagay na hindi namin maintindihan.


Hindi kami magkasama sa klase, bagkus she take Humanities that time. And now she's under the muscommunication and she's planning to be a reporter, newscaster, broadcaster or whatever you called that.


She's also a volleyball player last year. But now she stopped, and just focused on her studies.


She's a grade conscious. Konting baba lang sa average niya ay tatanungin na niya kaagad doon sa teacher na mayroon siyang pinakamababang grade kung bakit ganoon lang ang ibinigay sa kaniya.


Actually, she's crying for getting 95 in Biology when we are in grade 12. And I was like 'the fuck? Anong iniiyak mo diyan'.


Until now we do it. Pero hindi na ganoon kadalas nang dahil sa may kaniya kaniya na kaming schedule.


Maraming manliligaw si Sapphire, pero wala siyang sinagot ni isa. Ewan ko ba, at pusong bato itong babaeng 'to. Ni kaibigan na lalaki nga wala, naiissue raw siya kaya nilayuan niya lahat ng kaibigan niyang lalaki.


And the youngest named Cobie. He's a grade 11 student under Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics - academic track. Siya ang pinakatamad sa aming tatlo, but still he excels in his class.


Palagi siyang natatawag sa guidance nang dahil sa kalokohan na ginagawa niya. He's a certified playboy, at hindi ko iyon gusto.


Minsan na akong nagloko, pero kaagad ko ring itinigil nang dahil sa nasabihan ako ng principal. Yes principal na ang nagsabi sa akin na kapag hindi ko raw itinigil, malaki ang chance na tanggalin ako sa dean's list.


Cobie is running as the Salutatorian for their batch. He's also a dean's lister, kaya hindi niya hinahayaan ang pag-aaral niya kahit na nagloloko siya.


Ngayon hindi na masyadong mahigpit ang principal lalo na ngayong nakikita niya hindi naman nasisira ang grade ni Cobie.


Cobie's planning to get Medicinal in his college as his course. Yes he wants to be a doctor, hindi kami ganoon kayaman at tamang may kaya lamang.


Kaya tanging ang pagkakalista lamang sa dean's lister ang inaasahan namin. Kaya kailangan naming mamaintain ang grade namin kahit na ano mang mangyari.


Our parents, lalong lalo na ang tatay ko ay kinasusuklaman ako. Hindi ko iyon pinapansin bagkus ay bumabawi na lang ako sa academics para sa huli, kapag may trabaho na ako ay maibigay ko lahat nang nagastos nila sa akin.


Lahat-lahat nang ibinigay nila sa akin para wala na silang maisumbat.


Maraming problemang kinakaharap ang pamilya ko lalong lalo na sa akin, pinagpapaliban ko na lamang at iyon ay binabalewala.

Here's Angelo Xyre Hernandez, an eighteen year old who loves digi arts. He was planning to get Architecture in the future. Meanwhile, here's Liezzandra Jane Fabian. At that thought, Lin Ya couldn't help but shoot a glance at Ji Yi with an ice-cold expression in her eyes.
Throughout dinner, Li Da spoke eloquently and for almost the entire time.
His conversation topics were mostly centered around He Jichen's glory days in senior high school.
As they continued to chatter away, Li Da suddenly remembered that he didn't have He Jichen's contact details yet the meal was almost over. He turned his head towards He Jichen, who hadn't really spoken during dinner, and said, "Chen Ge, I almost forgot. I forgot to leave you with my contact details. Do you have WeChat? Let's add each other as friends; then I'll send you my number."
He Jichen reached for his phone and tapped the phone screen, then handed it to Li Da.
Li Da took the phone and scanned the screen with his.
Just as he was about to hand it back to He Jichen, Tang Huahua timidly said, "He Xuezhang, can I add you on WeChat too?"
Li Da instinctively looked over at He Jichen, who gave a gentle nod. Then, he handed the phone in his hand to Tang Huahua.
Tang Huahua cheerfully got up and scanned He Jichen's QR code for WeChat. Upon seeing this, Bo He also added He Jichen on WeChat. Lin Ya had He Jichen's number, but she didn't have his WeChat, so she pulled out her phone and scanned it too.
Everyone added him but Ji Yi, who quietly drank her tea with her head down.
Seeing as everyone but Ji Yi scanned He Jichen's WeChat, Li Da casually asked her, "Xiao Yi, you're not going to add Chen Ge's WeChat and leave your contact info?"
Ji Yi stopped drinking her tea and looked down at the redness of her tea for a moment. She finally raised her head and lied with a natural expression on her face, "I forgot to bring my phone; I left it in the hotel room."
After hearing what Ji Yi said, the thick-skinned Li Da didn't think twice and returned He Jichen's phone. Then he asked a question on his mind, "By the way, why do you guys call Chen Ge, 'Xuezhang[1]'? If I remember correctly, Chen Ge isn't part of B-film..."
Seeing as it was none of her business, Ji Yi lowered her eyes again.
The corner of her eyes caught a glimpse of He Jichen's chin. She wasn't sure if she was seeing things, but his chin seemed to have tightened. An indescribable coldness flowed out.
"He Xuezhang is from B-film..." replied Bo He.
With a mouth full of food, Tang Huahua nodded in agreement.
In a soft tone of voice, Lin Ya added to what Bo He said, "...He Dage is in the directing program, and we're in the acting program. They're different degrees."
Just as Ji Yi was going to continue drinking her tea, her cup suddenly stopped in mid-air when she heard Lin Ya's words.
He Jichen entered senior high early, but he was the top student in Sucheng. With the highest score in the nationwide college entrance exams, didn't he get into the prestigious S University? To this day, he was still a legend at Sucheng; why did he change programs and give up his place at a prestigious school to come to B-film?
"Chen Ge, was there some mistake?" Lin Da accidentally knocked the bowl next to his hand, and his voice cracked, as though he'd just heard the most ridiculous thing. "You gave up a glorious spot at a prestigious school with a bright future.. you actually gave up taking over your family business just to go to B-film?"
