As Baiyi was gearing up for his war on Terrorism, Laeticia, who was alone in the Imperial Capital, was facing another kind of war. Not a war against the English,[1] of course, but a struggle to plan for the upcoming Mass. It was almost time for the mass to start, and Mia and Noirciel were nowhere in sight. They could not even be reached by phone, either. 
"What are we going to do?" Laeticia, who was on the verge of tears, whispered. Kneeling believers had already crowded the place. 
The Shadow Walker gritted her teeth. "If this is what it has come to, then so be it. Change of plans!" She gave the Paladin Walker and Cleric Walker a meaningful shove. "Today, you two will have to take over Mia and Noirciel's roles!"
"Whoa! You're asking us... to crossdress?" The Church's most infamous gentlemen exclaimed in unison, looking at each other with identical expressions of excitement. 
"I've did not ask for such a thing!" The Shadow Walker bellowed, her head aching like it was going to explode. "I mean that since you are called the 'Defender of Faith', while you are the Archbishop, your ranks should be enough for you to serve as replacements! Mia and Noirciel aren't even required to be here!" 
"Are you sure this will be fine..?" Laeticia said hesitantly. "I m-mean, there's no absolute demand about it, but it has always been Mia, Noirciel, and me conducting this ceremony since its first. What will the believers think if it's Father Joel and Sir Hantai this time?"
"Some form of uproar may be expected, yes, but it's substantially better than having you conduct it alone," the Shadow Walker replied firmly. "These perverts may not act like it, but they still carry honorable titles of this faith. They're also very active in seeing these believers and have — so far— managed to keep their disgusting faults under wraps. They even appear to be popular figures among the public, so I'm confident they're good enough for the time being."
To really drive it home, the Shadow Walker said, "This is the only way we have now, Laeticia."
"The Arbiter's Rights! They're with Noirciel. How do we do this without them?" Laeticia persisted with another mortifying problem.
"Have these two fellas make something up with their theurgical skills, then… Ultimately, as long as they do nothingunacceptable, there should be no problem," the Shadow Walker replied reassuringly before turning to the two. "Is that right, boys? …None of you has anything questionable with you at the moment, right?"
"Worry not! We swear there is nothing with us right now — hell, we don't bring our precious with us when we're interacting with the general public! You must always count on our professionalism!" The two perverts swore in unison.
The ceremony began. The reception was one of confusion at first, but as the Shadow Walker had predicted, it quickly warmed without any voice of dissatisfaction or doubt. As usual, it started with hymns and melodic recitations of Scripture led by Laeticia while the two gentlemen cooperated accordingly with their awesome theurgical powers to create a dazzling light show. It delighted the attendants with its manufactured holy ambiance.
The next agenda would be a mass confession and pleading for forgiveness, usually led by Saintess Mia. Now that she was not here, the Cleric Walker would have to take over her role. It went on smoothly — say what one will, the man was still an expert in religious duties.
Next came the ritual for liberation and mercy, which was conducted by the angel. Now it became the Paladin Walker's job, who did not trip nor stumble in his act. It turned out that the Paladin Walker knew a few stock words for the situation, too.
The ceremony went swimmingly up to this point. The Paladin Walker and the Cleric Walker had done a satisfactory job filling in Noirciel and Mia's roles. But now, it finally came to the critical agenda: picking thirty-three believers randomly, shake their hands, offer simple blessings, and grant their uncomplicated wishes.
Strangely, the lucky followers were quickly revealed to all be young women.
The first was a beautiful, youthful white-collar woman, who gripped the Cleric Walker's hands in excitement. She was so moved that she could barely speak coherently. "Finally me… Finally my turn…"
"Tell me your wish, little one," the Cleric Walker said, flashing her a kind smile.
Everyone in attendance knew the rules in advance and knew better than to ask for something too overboard. So the woman wished for something incredibly simple, too. "I'm not asking much, really. I just think Lady Mia is so, so sweet, and I… I wish I can be within her proximity for a bit."
"Ah, very simple indeed," the Cleric Walker answered and pulled out a photo of Mia seemingly out of nowhere. "The Saintess will always be with you."
"W-wha — I mean, t-thank you, Your Grace," the woman stammered, stunned.
 The Scripture strictly banned believers from keeping a picture of the Saintess, and that anyone who crossed this testament would be carrying an unforgivable sin. Many might admit that it was a pretty peculiar rule when thinking about it, but believers were known to obey their Scripture without asking questions.
'So why would Saint Joel give me a picture of Lady Mia?' The woman thought to herself. Faith, however, was not known to motivate one to think critically, so she quickly shifted her focus from questioning the Cleric Walker to being quietly enthralled that she now owned a picture. With it, she could finally see Lady Mia every day!
The second believer had a simple request, too. Since she called herself the 'Biggest fan of Lady Noirciel', her primary wish was to hug Noirciel for a few seconds. Unfortunately, the angel was unavailable today, so she had to change it to something her replacement — the Paladin Walker — could fulfill, "Lord Hantai, I wish to be as radiant as Lady Noirciel is."
It was not a novel wish by any measure; Noirciel herself had encountered it before. Her usual method to resolve it was to complement the asker's look to reassure them of their beauty, then cast a theurgical spell on her so that for the next twenty-four hours, she would "look" radiant.
The Paladin Walker, however, had another idea.
With his face glowing, the Paladin Walker replied, "The solution is simple, Little One. Put on some make-up and the season's trendiest outfit. Put on a cute mini skirt and paired it with black silky socks. With these, you too can be as beautiful as an angel."
"Oh. Is that so…?" A nonplussed expression shadowed the girl's face out of genuine shock that the Paladin Walker would give her that as an answer. After leaving the stage doubtfully, she pulled out her phone and began to surf online zines and websites about women fashion.
The third person was up. "It's such an honor to meet the three of you in person; I like all of you so much! Even though Lady Mia and Lady Noirciel aren't here with us today. I wish I could see all of you every day! Is it possible?"
The Cleric Walker nodded understandingly and produced a business card from his pocket and handed it to her. "Call this number, and your wish shall be fulfilled. It might be expensive, but the business supports installment payment."
The believer studied the card and found that it belonged to a customizable robot-manufacturing company she had never heard. She called the number and was instantly greeted by a shallow receptionist. "Welcome! Which one would you like, and what style? Apologies that Saintess Mia's currently unavailable; Big Brother is watching us pretty tightly these days, ya' know? On the other hand, we haven't gotten live-sized angel Noirciel yet. As for Laeticia, we only have Dark Laeticia for now. The White one will only be restocked next month. So, what's your order, dearest customer? By card or by cash? If you pay by cash, you'll enjoy special rebates!"
It was glib, precise, and professional — all the hallmarks of a business that was in no way green around the ears.
The believer's face turned into a very bright shade of pale.
Fortunately, the rest had named Laeticia, who had ample practice and experience to fulfill her role, for blessings. Soon, almost all thirty-three followers came and went without any more hitches until the last girl, who looked like a student, rose to the stage.
Unlike most of the believers before her, she was more interested in the Cleric Walker and the Paladin Walker. "Oh my, Father Joel and Lord Hantai! Your presence today is a tremendous surprise!" She said excitedly. "To be honest, I don't have any wish in particular. I just want to have a little chit-chat with two of my most respected figures, is that alright?"
"Most assuredly," the Paladin Walker and the Cleric Walker answered with encouraging smiles.
"Okay, so… What are the things Your Graces love the most?" The believer started from one of the most common questions a fan would ask their idol during a meet-and-greet.
However, the Cleric Walker and the Paladin Walker's faces suddenly reddened as though the girl had stumbled upon a secret they could not reveal. It was almost a divine rule that priests could never lie in a holy ceremony like this, so the only choice the gentlemen had was silence.
"Oh, is it that difficult a question?" She wandered out loud but quickly switched to another one. "Hmm… How about hobbies, Your Grace?"
Another simple question that stifled the Cleric Walker and the Paladin Walker so much that cold sweat was visible on their foreheads. This was turning out to be the most torturous inquisition they had ever faced!
A dejected expression slowly shadowed the girl's face. "Silence again? Ah… I get it now. Father Joel and Lord Hantai don't like me that much, isn't it?"
"N-no! Not at all!" Finally, a question they could answer! "It's just that your questions are quite… poignant. It's not easy to answer them."
"Oh, I see! Looks like celebrities of any field are similarly guarded about their private lives too, huh? It's alright, I understand perfectly." Fortunately, the girl was understanding enough to know what not to press. "Well, since it's really difficult for me to meet Your Graces again, could I ask for an autograph? The poor girl was so shocked by their suggestion that she jerked and let out an audible gasp.
Thankfully, Laeticia — who knew the "peculiarity" her teachers had — rushed to the believer's aid by pulling out two placards resembling postcards for the two to sign. These cards were typically given to the believers to sign, but in this particular instance, it became a lifesaver. After the two gentlemen signed on the cards, Laeticia had to escort the terrified girl from the stage.
Regardless, the ceremony was at least completed without any fiasco! That surely deserved a pat in the back, yes?

I tested it on an insect. I thought it worked but all it did was make the insect unable to feel temperature. I created a temperature numbing drug. Not bad if I do say so myself. I kept trying until I finally succeeded. Those insects' sacrifices would not be forgotten. My next test was to see if it worked on objects. So, I poured the potion onto a teddy bear and then using my expert control. Almost burned down my house. Yeah, didn't expect for things to go so outta control. Luckily only my bedroom got damaged before mother put out the fire. However, most thing in the room are either water damaged or burn damaged. She decided to flood my room with me in it. She's must me great at her hydro-kinesis. The teddy did survive, so I successfully crafted a potion  of fire resistance. But I won't be doing any more of this. Partially because I might damage the house. But mostly because mother used this as an excuse to sleep with me in the guest bedroom. My father was looking ecstatic, sacrificing his only son just to get some peace 


More importantly, the lives of Kouta's parents. Suggesting that Midoriya's 16 at the time (when they went to their camp outing Midoriya must be 16 at least. Otherwise they did so much in less than a school grade, which  is bullshit.) Kouta's parents must have died when Midoriya was 14. If I am almost the same age as the deku, I have to be able to take on an A/S-rank villain in 9 years. No sweat, Muscular is only like a diluted version of All-Might, Japan's Number 1 hero. Awww Shit. Well I must hope that I'm the same age, but I in some ways, to be part of the MHA world, I kinda need to be in Midoriya's class. 

That aside, time to create a manga and a light novel. Why you may ask, not to get money, but also to make a name and to get some influence. Okay, also money. With my memory retention, I can remember all light novels and plots I have ever seen. And with the manga market saturated with hero manga based on real life. My manga will be an 'original' and 'creative' masterpiece. I can't wait. I'll start with In Another World with My Smartphone. I want publicity, but it doesn't have to be good publicity. My manga will be Dragon ball. This is a classic. With its classical art style and gags, this'll win over the public. Now to convince my parents to get me The Technology.

"Mama, can I have tablet to draw on and watch cat videos." I say in a girlish voice.

"Sorry honey, but I don't think you old enough to have one." She says apologetically.

Kaori just came in panicking. Apparently, THE Shiro Teichi just called saying her daughter, under the fake name Avatar_Rio, wants to upload a manga called 'Drakon Balls' or whatever. I swear the stuff this girl comes up with makes my blood boil. Perhaps it's time to let her go, she's too much of an annoyance. Huh what's this. Somebody called Avatar_Rio just uploaded a manga called Dragon Ball. F@£%. I don't want to piss that woman off. Hopefully decent to the point where i won't get in trouble for publishing it.

~10 minutes later~

This manga is pure genius. It comedic with old school manga style, classic gags and the overall simplicity that you can't find in modern day manga make it wonderful. A 5-year-old created this; I must send somebody to meet this prodigy. I would go myself, but 'that' woman creeps the hell out of me. Kaori looks like you just saved you job.

~2 weeks later~

Looks like they accepted 'my' manga. Time to rake in those Jane Austens (£10 notes). It seems that today I will be meeting with an Editor of Crackedhouse studio. Can't wait. Suddenly, I'm grabbed from behind and before I know it, I'm wearing a summer dress. Ugh. Why does she want to dress me up now. It's bad enough that she makes me get these girly hairstyles... No. Nonononono. I will not meet the editor dressed like this.

*Doorbell rings*

FFS. Why does she want to take away all my dignity.

My father opens the door and invites in the editor. Right now, I am being restrained on my mother's lap.

I look to my father, All eyes are on him. Hopefully he'll sort this all out. Oh no. The look on my mothers face. It's like she's daring him to agree with me. You can do this, you feel great, you can win this. I keep chanting this over and over. Hoping that this might somewhat negate the inevitable.

"Shiro Kawa is my daughter" he whimpers

"Excuse me husband, I don't think I've heard you. Speak clearly"

The look on my father's face is so pathetic. My mother's face looks proud and happy, grinning from ear to ear. Father... you goddess-damn defeatist.

"The reason is because my boss believes that this manga would do well and that in the future, we will be exclusive partners. And if your manga gets cancelled you could try your luck at another company. But between me and you. I think that this manga is doing great." She replies giving a customer service smile.

There is a total of 519 chapters worth of Dragon ball, with the first 194 being adapted into Dragon ball and the 325 being adapted into Dragon ball Z. The first chapter of dragon ball was 30 pages. That alone is £3,300 but is also an exception. Let's say the average amount of pages was 14 per chapter for the whole of Dragon Ball series(194-1 so 193). I would make £297,220, without royalties, minimum. The Dragon Ball Z chapters also consisted of say 14 pages. I would earn £500,500, without royalties, minimum. I would have to pump out one chapter every week for their magazine and they would adapt every 12.1 chapters into a volume meaning each volume has 192 pages in it. Not bad. I cannot even imagine what the royalties are going to be. And i could easily handle the drawing. Thanks to my adaptable body, I could easily finish a chapter in a day(I don't have to story board and stuff. With memory retention, I can cheat a lot of this.) . This would only decrease as my body becomes more adapted to drawing. So, there is really no downside. Plus, I do not have to waste time story boarding and stuff so that cuts out a lot of it. And all I must do is send in a chapter to make it into their weekly magazine. So, it's 58 chapters per year. Perfect, I knew memory retention was a good choice. However, I do want more royalty.

"Ms, can I get 18% royalties and I'll sign the contract right away."

As Ms Okuma Kaori leaves, I feel accomplished. With this I'll easily be able to afford my endeavours. But I feel that she thinks I'm a girl. I need to fix that. Picture won't help. If I send them, she might get arrested. I might need to get my birth certificate. But mother locked that down tight. Problem for another day. I'll tell them about the light novel in a few years. Let me create a collection. I doubt anyone will come up with these ideas. And if they do, I'll sue them. Tell them they ripped of my idea and show the a few of the novels. I'll definitely win. Greetings to all my readers, I wish to say something to you.

Firstly, I want to apologise to all of you. All those who have found this fanfic to be enjoyable, I truly apologise to you for not so inconsistent in writing the chapters of this fanfic or responding to you all. There have been multiple reasons for why I was inconsistent but it doesn't change the fact. I hope you forgive me.

Honestly speaking, I had started writing this fanfic with nothing concrete in my mind. I was just fed up of fanfic in those days that I felt that I must write something better than fanfics with those pussy main characters and all. I didn't expect you all to like this much, however, much can be contributed to the fact that it was one of the first Against the Gods Fanfic here. Nevertheless, I am very glad for all the support you have shown me.

Even before I had started writing this fanfic, I had been writing a novel. It isn't a lewd novel I guess haha... It's something I have been working on since 2-3 years. Its outlook is also not like that of an official novel but still, I have done all I can do alone, writing the novel, editing it and everything. Some friends helped me, but eventually, I completed it by myself.

I am from India, and in 3rd year of my Engineering. I guess I found my passion too late as I had already joined the college and wanted to graduate before working actively in the writing field. However, near the end of my first year, I had already started writing this Fanfic. Perhaps it was because of my lust of popularity or because I also wanted to write a Douluo Dalu fanfic, I started writing about it too. I guess I chewed off more than I could bite. Writing three novels at the same time was far too taxing. Especially when I had to give out regular chapters. I even started using p.atreon to collect money for advance chapters because I wanted to prove to my parents that I could earn through writing as well. My parents were convinced but I was seriously exhausted after a month or two. I couldn't go anywhere and spent all my time on discord or writing.

After that, I was interested in a girl I met online. She was from the same country as me. I was infatuated with her. The time talking to her was so relaxing that I slowly found myself getting out of writing. I slowly reduced my time in writing and started to talk with her more. However, she soon found someone else she liked so I got a little angry. We had a quarrel and I was pretty much pathetically depressed. I know I was in the wrong but I still couldn't control my emotions at that time. I was quite pathetic, I guess. Haha...

Anyway, I am out of depression. I had started watching animes again because of a bit of my free time and study for engineering. (I pretty much failed in quite a few subjects in a few semesters so I had to reappear in those exams again. Had to study all that too...) In a bit of my free time, I read some novels. I tried to improve my writing style and felt that it has improved a lot. During that time, I kept my mind focused on my main novel and kept everything aside. I just wrote something now and then for fun. It was to try out whether it would look appropriate in my main novel or not.

I have said it before but I guess I will say it again, I wish to turn this story into a manga story. I know I am not from Japan, it's probably a little preposterous for me to think of making manga and publishing it. Even after that, I have little hope of gaining popularity. However, I still want to make a manga. I am going to hire an artist and discuss a long term plan with him to ensure that it would come to reality even if it costs me a lot.

Currently, I have released my novel on the Kindle (Amazon), I won't say you must buy it. In fact, I urge you not to buy it if you do not like it. That will be your own decision. I just want you to read the free preview available on kindle, just tell me if you like it or not. I just want to know a bit of your viewpoint if you will like the story or not... I haven't asked anyone known to me to review the novel because the first few reviews I wish for are the true reviews. I just want to know whether my story is worth reading or not and let you be the judge of this fact.

It might seem like an ordinary date and it is an ordinary date for most of the people out there (except those who have their birthdays or any special occasion) but for a guy who was sitting while browsing through Google, it definitely was not. On this particular day, he had finally caught up with the manhua/manga releases of "Tales of Demons and Gods[TDG] " by Mad Snail. He really liked the manga, but he wanted more. So, he searched on Google about similar stories and he found "Otherworldly Evil Monarch [OEM] ". He got curious because the name sounded badass and it seemed like it was not going to be a story where the protagonist keeps on spouting sh¡t about righteousness and slaying evil and protecting the weak and stuff as it had the word "EVIL" in it. He thought that its dumb and he had the adequate reasons to think like that. After all, who in their right mind would risk his life to save a girl who he does not even know properly . It is not even realistic and how in the world can the protagonist be so selfless and so dense when it came to matters of love. It is as if he was hit by a rock in his infancy and his brain was permanently damaged.
After he was done cursing the cliché Manga, he started searching for the manga of OEM. A while later did he came to the realization that OEM does not have a manga. It is actually a novel which is posted online and the chapters are released frequently, and these novels are known as "Webnovels". He also got to know that TDG was originally also a webnovel but since it got really popular, it was transformed into a manga and the animation of TDG was along the way as well.
The name of this guy is Weed.

(as we all know that I, the author has the power to pause this novel world by snapping my fingers, and I will break the 4th wall and this was mentioned in the previous chapter and this is the last time it would be mentioned.
Moving on, as well all know that Japanese are considered as really polite, humble, caring about others etc. people (E/N: Except you) and it is true. Until this guy made an appearance. This character, Weed was meant to be born in U.S.A. or any other western country but God made some mistake and he ended up being born in Japan.
If you are wondering about why his name is Weed, and not some other Japanese names like Hijikata, Kemamaki, etc (E/N: I've never even heard of these names in anime or manga), then I should suggest you to stop being a racist because it is not necessary for a guy to have a Japanese name if he is born in Japan. Actually he was given a good name which was a Japanese name but when he became an adult, he changed it to the thing he liked the most, and that is weed. Although he has never smoked weed but that is an entirely different topic. This guy can not be considered polite. Screw being polite, he constantly curses as if they are verbs and without his "verbs", he cannot complete his sentences. He is a degenerate scum of society and also has this constant urge of pissing everyone off as if the whole world is his enemy. He does not care about anyone but himself, and he does not give a damn about anyone's feelings. He thinks that facts do not care about feelings and prefers facts and logic over anything. He considers himself as an anti-social extrovert. He is 19 year old NEET and wastes his time looking at memes, watching anime and reading manga. He is a racist (E/N: rapist *cough cough*) to the core and will do anything to get on the nerves of others. We will get other information about him later on as the story progresses. He is also not the protagonist of this novel as I have said previously that communism is Supreme in such cases and so, everyone is a protagonist here.
Weed never had a problem in reading a story because he is into Manga a lot so he decided to give OEM a try. He searched for the places where he could read OEM and this was that moment where he got to know about the top dog in webnovel society. The corporate known and "QIDIAN". With some excitement and slight anticipation, (which is very rare by the way) he downloaded the application of Qidian and jumped straight away into the reading OEM. He kept reading and was so hooked that he eventually lost the track of time. After almost 5 hours of continuous reading, he finally closed the app because his stomach was not much happy and showed its discontent by a making a slight yet audible noise(he is hungry for fuck's sake). He got up and went outside his room to make some cup noodles for himself.
After pleasing his beloved belly, he started the app again, but instead of reading the novel, he decided to check other features of the app. He saw various novels of different genres, some novels even caught his attention and he added them into his reading list. He eventually stumbled upon the forum section and clicked on it. There he saw that a group of qidian was made on Facebook and anyone was welcome to submit their application to join it. 
Since Weed already had his Facebook account, he decided to fill the application to join the Facebook group since he did not had anything else to do. Along with the fact that he might get some good novel recommendations in that group. After that he continued reading OEM. After 13 days, his application was accepted and he was a member of the Facebook group of qidian.
