Hide and Seek is the first book of the Snow in August trilogy. This novel is centered around cancer and first love of a seemingly unrequited nature. Each of the books in the Snow in August trilogy have childish titles and adult themes.

So... I've recently been looking over my old notes and realised... Why am I writing this story when the prequel: Battlefield Restart 2- An Ascendance Beyond Greatness, has yet to be written?

I've wrote three versions of the beginning arc of Battlefield Restart 2 but have been putting this story off because I wanted to get it done perfectly the first time. It is supposed to be a perfect blend between Epic Fantasy and Xianxia, featuring the story of how the 'Ultimate God' in this story became so powerful and why the Death Attribute no longer exists in the setting of this story.

Thinking about it realistically, I'd be able to easily write this story and make an even more epic third entry of the trilogy if I focused on the first two before writing this, as then I could discreetly allow elements and characters to pass into this story.

The first entry is... kinda unique in how it's too full of itself in being an exploration about identity and self. It has a lot of re-contextualising moments in it but the story is all over the place due to me losing focus on what kind of audience I'm writing for.

The second entry is where I can probably make up for the lacklustre first entry by making it into the Epic Fantasy audiences want to read. There are a lot of things I've been thinking about but first I'm going to ask around on which 'introductory chapters' are better and where I should start this seriously plotted out story I'd planned for a year.

Hopefully, you guys will see it in it's completed form. I know making the second entry before the first entry is as weird as trying to start from the beginning but since both the first and second entry are only loosely connected. I think it's fine.

Battlefield Restart- An Identity Beyond Self will stay incomplete until I've written Battlefield Restart 2- An Adventure Beyond Greatness. Hopefully, I can learn from this new writing style I've been using for this third entry and make characters develop.

The story is the third entry in the trilogy of Battlefield Restart but is being written as the direct sequel instead. The events of Battlefield Restart 2- An Adventure Beyond Greatness, are contained so there isn’t much to be missed by skipping it.

This novel is about an Author being sent into the nightmarish world he writes due to his destiny. The main character of BR 2 appears but isn’t focused on much, as this is about the Omniscient Writer’s story.

Vol. 0 is skippable and isn’t essential to the story as a whole. Only something there for extra info.

I'm really sorry if the novel ended the way as it is. However, I still hope that you enjoyed reading this story.

How to save a star was intended to be my 'first' novel and not a short story. I was pretty determined to even write a trilogy for it but I just can't continue writing this when I feel like much of the plot was unrealistic and many parts were so cringe-worthy that I wanted to hang myself. In the end, I decided to end this story and rewrite it back to square one. As of publishing this short story, I have two projects at hand that I really wanted to publish. First, Dying Stars, which is the complete rework of this story. I have written a detailed outline of the story, the characters, and their history so I'm hoping that Dying Stars will be the final edition of this story that I really wanted to write, given that this story had already been recycled thrice.  Second is a secret, but it's an ongoing fantasy series that I write under a different pen name and it's receiving a relatively good feedback.

"Do you know that stars die?" I asked, breaking the silence. I didn't know where the question came from, but that's the only thing that came in mind.
"Yeah," he answered. "And some stars we see in the sky may be already dead. But they're so far away that their afterglow can still be seen above. Some of them may seem glowing but they're actually dead."

We all have a little gallery of photographic memories inside our hearts. An exhibit of things we could never forget through our short moments in time. Some were so good, we held it like they were the best part of our lives while some were things we desperately ran away from － they hunted us, and killed our hopes.
The beginning of my life ended on my tenth birthday, the day when my childhood was stolen away from me. I longed to run away from that nightmare that held me tightly in my neck and made helpless under its grasp.
Going to college had become my final chance to run away. On my seventeenth birthday, after enrolling at a university, my life took another shift. I met a man who showed me the glimmer of hope I always wanted to see. And this was our story. A narration of first love, bittersweet and worthwhile.

In the modern world where life was easily prolonged, the life of a king was the norm, and just following the system was enough to make anyone successful.

That is the current world we live in, and a boy was bored with it.

Not just him but many have the tendency at one point of life where they would get bored of it. It either may be too hard or easy for them.

Time by time, a challenge obstructs their flow of life. This may give color to their life but the opposite can still be true otherwise.

It's complicated, but what's not when dissected? People tend to look at things in general, making it seem simple.

Now back to the boy, his name is Cass and he is also bored with life like some. However, he has a unique reason why: he was too talented. 

He can pick up anything and learn it with ease. Cass is a prodigy at anything. Even in love, he has lust and needs of course, but girls will always give themselves to him as if they were cheap, this greatly turned him off.

He's charismatic, humble, and quiet. Although his looks are not on the level of a model it's enough to make any girl fall for him with his capability.

At seven years old, he already learned how to be calm and decisive, he chose to improve himself since he understood the importance of many things at a young age.

In different fields, he excelled at them. Nothing really made his life hard.

At the age of nine, he already got his first fangirl. Her name was Felicia and she would follow him everywhere, regardless of time, location, and occasion. 

But Cass would get angry at her when she takes it to the extreme, such as: following Cass to the restroom or watching him sleep, so even with her obsessiveness, she restrained herself.

And so, by the age of nine, he already got his first stalker…

When he reached thirteen, he could literally take care of himself. He can make money as easy as picking sand at a beach. Cass became independent from his parents but he really never sought riches so he took his job casually and invested here and there where he knew will be successful.

And finally, four years later, at the present time, he became humble not because he is kind but he doesn't want much attention.

His only friend was his "childhood friend", Felicia, who is, for your information, a super-rich girl. A real-life princess who gets everything she wants, everything except Cass.

However, there is one thing Cass consider a bother, being low-key wasn't looking well for him.

He was already placed on the news in his childhood a few times even without him showing live.

Even Cass couldn't control the word that got out. When the students found out they have a "celebrity" in their school who never once flaunts and lives a humble life, they already regard him as an idol.

Cass was greatly recognized by many, making him popular. They realized how quiet he is despite his capability. The girls started to notice him and easily fall for a guy like him.

As a result:

Ding ding ding*

"Cass!", by the end of the first day of being a freshman in the Grelan Academic Facility which was a home for gifted people, and also rich kids, Felicia slammed the door open to see Cass sleeping by the window.

The soft sunlight from the burrowing sun enveloped Cass's gentle figure as he slept.

Felicia held both her cheeks and wiggled as she walked, screaming in her head, 'Kyaaaahh!!!'

But after looking at Cass's sleeping face for almost five minutes, she remembered that she had something important to say.

'But should I wake him up?', Felicia doesn't want to disturb her sleeping prince.

She shook her head, "But I am a princess, I shouldn't disturb a gentleman.", she flickered her long eyebrows, looking like a fair maiden, "My only gentleman.", but soon, she disturbed the gentle scene by her eyes shining and becoming like a hungry lion:

She then jumped aggressively, "My only chance to touch him wherever I want!", disregarding all the princess-stuff.

But she was unsuccessful as her face was blocked by a palm.

"…. touch who wherever you want???", Cass woke up with his hair combed by his fingers, making him stunningly delicious and stunningly stunning!

Felicia gulped and answered, "You, of course, I would die before I plan to touch anyone else other than you.", as if her answer was proof of innocence.

The hand that was fixing his bit-messy hair became a tool to face slap himself as he sighed, ".. you don't need to answer that in a complete sentence… and please, deny it instead of answering in the first place."

"Why would I?", Felicia held Cass' hands, "But more importantly, I have something important to tell you that is important!"

"What?", Cass ignored his hand being held as if he doesn't care anymore and was inured to the princess' whimsical behavior.

"Cass, I…", Felicia greatly blushed with her cheeks burning in red, "I want you to be mine…"

A whisper that could take any man's heart in a matter of a moment.

The wind blows as spring began between these two unordinary youngsters. The story begins with romance and it ends with romance as it seems. Although many hardships will come through, these two lovers may find peace, comfort, and love with each other. They will live a merry one with their merry family with no less than twenty children living in a rural and hidden area where nobody could disturb them.

"No.", Cass strongly said while massaging his own forehead, "… and stop creating stories in your head for the twelfth time…"

Felicia pouted and shook her head in denial, "That is the future, not a story I just made up!"

"….."

The princess just smiled in confidence before changing the topic:

"And why are you sleeping in class?", Felicia wrinkled her forehead.

By then Cass showed a soft smile and his tone changed, a little.

"School is useless for me and so, I use the time to sleep to regain my energy to read."

"Then why go to school?", Felicia murmured a comment.

"After all that, it is still better than back at home."

"The last time, you said it was because the cafeteria's meals were too delicious to be ignored?", Felicia made a suspicious look.

"No, I said it was because of the free food. I am not going to waste my scholarship.", Cass smirked.

"Ohhh, the thinking of a genius. When will I ever understand you?", Felicia tried to hug Cass as if it was normal in the flow of the conversation.

But Cass stood.

But Felicia still hugged him.

But Cass… ignored it and took his backpack and a pocketbook within it.

As he exited his classroom like a tree with a persistent koala, he walked through a wide and luxurious hall unbefitting of a school but a castle.

Cass didn't complain since he knew it would be pointless and Felicia's weight was practically nothing for him.

He even felt his clothes were being bitten from time to time. Which is weird but in Felicia's defense, she couldn't help herself.

They've been together for almost eight years and the fact that they are not officially a couple or a couple at all, is definitely a weird one.

Both were weird, one that is madly in love to another that stayed resilient for eight years even after being rejected every day, and the second who is also weird if not weirder, he who can stay adamant on rejecting every man's dream girl as if it was nothing for eight years!

Both of them knew that Cass is not interested in the same sex or is turned off by Felicia. The reason for the status quo is a bit strange and complicated.

The koala popped her head out to see the serious Cass who was reading.

She asked, "So that's the book you saved energy for?"

Cass simply nodded, immersed in the book.

"Is it really better than me?"

Cass disregarded the baseless and illogical complaint.

"This is a new book I recently got in an underrated shop."

"Underrated shop… you mean Sel's Bookstore?", Felicia smiled.

Cass looked at her with suspecting eyes, "Sometimes I don't know how you were able to follow me without me knowing."

Felicia dropped down from Cass since she was getting tired from hugging. She even wiped her sweat with Cass's clothes which made her received a pinched on her cheek.

"So you went to some small store because you already read all the books in the school library?", Felicia couldn't believe her own words since the Grelan's Library has almost all the books in the country.

"Yeah, fantasy books and I am extremely choosy. There are just a few books in the library that suited my taste.", Cass smirked.

"Extremely choosy but I know you bought three books from that store.", Felicia shook her head.

"It's a trilogy…", Cass explained nonchalantly.

"What's the story about?"

"It's called The Holy Queen and it has a pretty interesting premise."

Because of the size of the school, both Cass and Felicia just reached the school gate after a quarter of an hour.

"There was once a pure girl who was chosen by the Gods to become the one who guided the people into heaven. She became the Holy Queen of the strongest kingdom and there she waits for her adulthood to officially take the role of the Holy Queen."

"…hmmm.."

"What?"

"So what's the problem of the story?"

Cass looked at the back of the book's cover and continued, "I don't know but maybe because of demons."

"… of course, demons…", Felicia nodded.

Cass sighed, he too didn't know what caught his interest in this book for him to buy the whole trilogy.

"Currently, the Holy Queen sets out her men to find the hidden demons all over her kingdom. There is one guard who was caught…."

"And?", Felicia was interested only because of Cass not in the book.

"The next page is bl-", before Cass finished his sentence, a bright light swallowed his vision unwarned.

Cass traveled unknowingly through something the mind of a human cannot fathom. His emotions whirled and his mind was on the brink of madness. It is clear that this was not suitable for a human.

But the "travel" did not take long as Cass regained back his senses feel heat surrounding his.

Sweat uncomfortable pouring all over his body. The smooth wind that comes with little things that irritate his skin. Fatigue pierced his whole body, especially on the leg.

Then his sense of hearing came back as he heard multiple footsteps on sand, heavy footsteps.

"This demon might have a trick up his sleeve. Demons don't surrender quietly."

A hoarse voice came to him and finally, his sense of sight came back. 

There he saw were metal bars that imprisoned him and behind that was the vast land of sand.

A horse neighed in front of him that took his attention.

"The Holy Queen will never be wrong that this man is a demon."

A Holy Queen, revered by the lands and one with the Heavens met the only obstacle in her life.

Name

Series creator George Lucas initially wrote the series' main villain as separate from Luke Starkiller's father Annikin [sic]. Various combinations of names for the character were built upon the phrase "Dark Water". Then Lucas "added lots of last names, Vaders and Wilsons and Smiths, and [he] just came up with the combination of Darth and Vader." This story might be cliche and trash note I'm just doing this for fun with the ideas I had in my head, your welcome to drop if you want to.

Sorry, things keep popping up lately and there are too many tasks to keep track of. After the recent failure of my Amalgam Xianxia, I've been thinking of bringing back an old story of mine in its place.

I've already thought about what I'll do after ending this Arc, and to keep up with the current writing trends, I'll be writing Battlefield Restart 3 after this Arc is finished rather than Battlefield Restart 2- An Adventure Beyond Greatness. The reason being is that not only can that story tie in perfectly into earlier entries but also independently exist by itself.

The story will be called Battlefield Restart 3- An Ascendance Beyond Destiny, and will be more about the 'growing up' aspect of Idealism Vs Cynicism and the concept of 'Hero Squads'.

I know writing a the last story in a 'trilogy' before the first story is being too out there and weird, but I feel as if such a story I'm thinking of will keep up with the trends and invite that feeling of nostalgia.

If Battlefield Restart- An Identity Beyond Self is a story of an Isekai'd MC, and Battlefield Restart 2- An Adventure Beyond Greatness is a mete deconstruction of The Hero's Journey, Then Battlefield Restart 3- An Ascendance Beyond Destiny is about self-betterment (as cheesy as it sounds... Meh, this has Magical Girls anyway).

The story is built like Reincarnator but with less set goals. He aims to stop an Apocalypse by 'creating Heroes' but that in itself has already failed as a plan the first time. The last fighters of Earth just before the humanity became extinct (because they died as well) were the 'Contractors' of the MC of the previous entry in this trilogy (BR 2, basically).

The main character will be 'Mr Mascot', someone who is closely related to things that happened in both the first Battlefield Restart and its sequel. A guy who was the 'Hero Forger' in the past.

He is sent back in time to try again. Although I say this story is like Reincarnator, he has a lot more cynicism and a lot more softer heart than the guy in that story. A guy who can't fight by himself.

Unlike others in his team that could have been sent back, like those who can rewrite reality or are essentially immortal, he is sent back because only he is great at bringing people together, as the rest of them are too reliant on their overpowered Gifts.

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that there will be delays but I'll make sure to get this Arc ended with a more satisfying conclusion than last time (in my own perspective). I hope to finish this soon!

This is a story I worked on ages ago that has been refined and edited by adding foreshadowing to events while also simplifying the power system better than before. This story can be considered a prequel to An Adventure Beyond Greatness as it takes place years prior to the events of that story.

Short Synopsis:
After retiring from the battlefield, my life became empty and lifeless. The regrets of my past haunt me in my sleep. Then a change occurred, a King from another world summoned me to fight for his kingdom, but I died even before I could give him my answer. Now, after a fake God allowed me to reincarnate (albeit imperfectly) with my memories intact, into a world filled with magic and swords.

Long Synopsis:
This is about a flawed protagonist who only knew to rely on others and not socialise who gets a second chance to change himself in order to live the life he aimed for in his past life. The narrator isn’t exactly trustworthy since it is purely in his bias perspective while other perspectives given by others fill in the blanks that he either leaves out or twists to suit the situation.

The story itself can be considered a parody of Isekai’s classic tropes which are given a sense of reality as time goes by. As there exists no ‘Demon Lord’, there is also no black and white, only characters opinions and counter-opinions throughout the story.
