A mail arrived from China. It was an official invitation signed by Seukang Li for the international book exhibition that he was hosting in Shanghai. He sent the invitation for two. In addition to the invitation letter, Seukang Li sent an email to Gun-Ho separately. The email was written in Chinese and Gun-Ho, who had studied in China, had no problem reading it.

After reading the email from Seukang Li, Gun-Ho made a phone call to President Jeong-Sook Shin in GH Media.
"Yes, sir. This is Jeong-Sook Shin."
"President Shin, I've received the first and the second book of the cartoon series that you sent to me earlier."
"We have the third and fourth books that are ready, and we sent those to you already. They will arrive at your office by tomorrow."
"Are they selling well?"
"We are already printing out the third editions of the first and second books of world history cartoon series. These books are an already-proved bestseller by Amazon.com. I knew it will be successful, but they are actually selling more than I expected."
"That's good to hear."
"The workers here were worried about it when we put them on the bookstores for the first time. Now they are very satisfied with the sales performance."
"Really? That's really nice. Umm, have you heard of an international book exhibition held in Shanghai, China?"
"Yes, I have. I know some of the publishing companies which are selling Korean books that already applied to participate in the book exhibition."
"Can't we participate in it?"
"No, sir. We are selling Japanese or American books after translating it into the Korean language. So, we don't really have our own books to promote there."
"What if we go there and import Chinese books?"
"Our market is Korea, and Chinese books are not so popular in Korea."
"I've received two invitations for that book exhibition. Would you like to go there with me?"
"Well, I don't know. I think we will probably just waste time and money by traveling to China."
"To be honest with you, the person who is hosting the book exhibition in Shanghai is my friend. He is Chinese, of course."
"Oh, really?"
"He is the director of the bureau of cultural affairs, radio broadcasting, film, television, media, and arts of Shanghai. And that bureau is hosting the international book exhibition. He sent me the invitation with an email saying I have to be there."
"Well, you should go there then, sir."
"I won't be very helpful to him if I go there by myself. I don't know much about the book publishing business. He sent me two invitations, so I was wondering if you would go there with you, President Shin."
"Well… Okay. I will go with you, sir. But the travel expenses…"
"Don't worry about the expenses for the trip. I can have GH Mobile pay for our travel expenses or I can personally bear the entire cost."
Gun-Ho had been receiving his monthly salaries from three separate companies, and he hadn't really spent much so far. Those salaries were just being accumulated in his personal bank account.
"I am in then. As a matter of fact, everyone in the publishing business wishes to participate in an international book exhibition."
"We don't have to make a contract for a Chinese book if we don't meet any good one. I just want to be there for my friend."
"Understood, sir."
"I will let you know once the trip itinerary is confirmed."
"Okay, sir."
 
After getting off the phone with GH Media's President Shin, Gun-Ho replied to Seukang Li's email.
『I guess you might feel a heavy burden on your shoulders for the book exhibition. Since I have a publishing company, I will participate in the exhibition with the publishing company's president. I am gladly taking this opportunity to see my dear friend.

Gun-Ho was stretching himself in his office after sending out the email reply to Seukang Li when Director Dong-Chan Lee entered the office. He was with two young men.
"Sir, these are the new hires of Dyeon Korea."
"Oh, really? Please have a seat."
Director Kim and the new employees sat on a chair.
Director Kim handed over their resumes to Gun-Ho.
Both of the new employees graduated from Seoul National University and they had some experience abroad either as an exchange student or for a voluntary work. They were about 30 years old, which made them at least five years younger than Gun-Ho.
Gun-Ho looked at Director Kim and said,
"What are their job positions?"
"One person will do import and export work, and the other will do sales."
"For the accounting and general affairs positions, you said you wanted to take a few employees from the current GH Mobile's employees, right?"
"That's right, sir. We will need people with work experience for the accounting and general affairs positions, so I'm planning to take a team leader or assistant manager in those departments in GH Mobile. And we will hire two more employees for each department."
"Hmm."
Gun-Ho then looked at the new hires and said,
"Welcome aboard. You will feel a bit uncomfortable at the beginning of your work since the Dyeon Korea's building is not yet completed."
"That's okay, sir."
The two men responded simultaneously.
"Are you two from this area?"
"Yes, our parents are in Asan City."
Gun-Ho said,
"I am so happy to have decent new employees in Dyeon Korea. You will learn a lot from Director Kim here. If you work hard, you will have an opportunity to promote within the company as well. Since you start working with us even before the company's building is completed, you are one of our very first employees. I look forward to working with you two."
Gun-Ho had a handshake with each of the new employees and tapped their backs.
The new hires gave a deep bow to Gun-Ho before leaving the office.
 
While having a cup of tea in his office, Gun-Ho thought about the two young men who just joined Dyeon Korea. They looked young and innocent. He then touched his own face.
"I just turned 36 years old. If those two young men saw me on the street, would they consider me like an older brother? Or an uncle? Do I look already that old?"
Gun-Ho looked at himself in the mirror.
"I am indeed getting old. I came this far without a break and without realizing that I am aging. Mori Aikko is only 21 years old. Is she with me because she really likes me? Or because of my money?"
As Gun-Ho suddenly became self-conscious about his aged appearance, he decided to get a skin care, and he headed to downtown in Cheonan City.

A Handsome middle-aged man with a demeanor of a Noble, he had Red hair and some white hair came forward and spoke eloquently, "Milord, I was sincerely interested in Projectors and it had nothing to do with Printers or any roundabout way to interact with officials for inquiring about Printers. So I just hoped that you won't misunderstand me."
John nodded as he had quite an impression of the man as Donovan had previously helped him in propaganda against Prince Hector, "It's ok, I was previously a businessman and hence understand your persistence, you can anyway buy the printers or hire other printing companies for publishing books when we pass the relaxation of laws and regulations in a few days so don't worry about it. However, all the books published in Sky will go through an inspection for preferred age groups before publication so you must be careful regarding that and if possible you should consult a lawyer to check if there are any legal problems with your book so that your company doesn't get sued later on since we are passing libel laws very shortly. So what about the projectors? Do you want to invest in it? I think they are still at an experimental stage as far as I am concerned. It still cannot produce sounds and it only works as a medium to see and not to hear for now. It might take some time to synchronize voice and the moving pictures."
Looking at the middle-aged man, John thought, 'It looks like we can see a rise of a media and an entertainment mogul since he is quite stubborn when it comes to the entertainment business. Anyway, supporting his company will form a pilot project for us in bringing up other companies in this field and also new industries.'
As soon as Donovan heard that he can buy the printers, he was happy beyond belief.
Donovan composed himself and spoke, "Your Majesty, I heard the same from Dr. Will but I intended to make movies without sounds at the start to increase our profits as we would be able to broadcast the same in multiple theaters and also improvise the acting skills of our crew as well as edit and reshoot the weaker parts and improve our dramas. Currently, We own 15 Theaters in Sky of which we rent 10 of them to other crews so I would like to improvise on the profits via using the Projectors and Cameras for shooting movies. Meanwhile, we will also create our own research center for the improvements to the projectors for improvements in the Entertainment Industry."
Donovan thought, 'Even if the new projectors with sound are out in 4-8 months, we will be able to capture the market and make a good impression on the consumers of our company at the same time. So this will be quite a profitable investment.'
John nodded and spoke, "Okay, since you are confident that you can do good business via the prototype then there should be no problem and we cannot be blamed, you will have to make your checks before buying the prototypes. We will however provide the After Sales service and spares via the company for all the types of equipment like Sky Cameras and Projectors. I will meanwhile authorize our relevant departments at the company and government to sell the projectors."
Donovan then tacitly asked, "Milord, if we make any improvements on the Projectors then it can be owned by us, right?"
John nodded and spoke, "Yes, there won't be a problem. You would have to register your research in Trademark, Registration and Patent's Office if you want to protect your rights or else you won't be able to sue other competitors if they are able to steal your tech via spies. I think you are already aware of how business works, Right?"
Donovan sighed with relief and then thought, 'I should hire some graduates from the institute who are good at engineering and have worked with projectors and maybe the sound magicians I hired will be able to improvise the projectors via using sound magic and memory magic arrays, I should also contact those two inscribers of North frontier times to make a sound recording machine integrated with the Projector for us. This will surely make us filthy rich in the entertainment industry. Anyway, I should first buy these Magic Cameras as we can film some good Professional Advertisements for certain businesses in the newspapers with our celebrities. I should also change my company name to Donovan Entertainment since we are entering multiple fields.'
Donovan nodded as he got an authorization document from John's secretary Quill to buy the projectors.
After taking care of all the important businessmen of Sky for the Future legal affairs. Only John and Will were present at the office.
Will spoke after those businessmen left the Administrative Headquarters, "Your Majesty, is it ok to relax so many media sensitive industries at once?"
John smiled as he faced this question from his other conservative ministers as well, "I understand your worries. However, currently, we have borrowed a lot of public money for our infrastructure projects and hence I am opening some industries and technologies so that the businessmen from other countries start investing over here after looking at this big pie. This is also so that it can stimulate fast growth. Additionally, the creation of Banks will inevitably leak the Printing technology to other countries as our banks are going to destabilize their financial system which will be noticed in some time now when the border officials of other countries see a change in the inflow and outflow of gold with more merchants dealing in Sky dollars instead of Gold at border villages. Basically we are grabbing their Breakfast, lunch and dinner money and hence should expect extreme reactions if we monopolize the Printers. Anyway, the Value of Sky Dollars is anyway going to increase with or without gold when our financials and economy starts fattening up because of our banks improving the efficiency of commerce. The difference between their economies and ours is that they focus mostly on agriculture and the Military but we will focus on most of the sectors i.e. Agriculture, Commerce, Services and Technology equally. Anyway, this is part of the bigger outlook and plan that I am opening up some sectors and it is also to improve the standard of living of our people. Additionally, our media is going to condition the people socially according to our national needs and hence a bigger reach is good internally. I intend to use the media to increase the interactions between humans, demons, elves, dwarves, beasts, devils and all the other species in Sky so that other countries are not able to create conflicts between races in the future at Sky at least. Additionally, opening up our Printing sector will inevitably increase the exports of our paper since it quite cheap and hence earn loads of export income."
Will was quite surprised after hearing this and understood, "I understand now, Milord."
Will hesitated a bit and didn't speak as he thought that social engineering shouldn't be done.
John smiled and understood his thinking, "Will, you must understand that every form of literature is propaganda and this is the conclusion that I came up with after my observation of the world. Every person has their biases and hence even if someone doesn't want to be partial, he will be partial subconsciously. So it is better to accept some of your own flaws and make it a strong point but in a righteous way."
This time Sarah spoke in his head in a shocked tone, 'Surprisingly, you are quite perceptive. in worldly affairs. Here take this book of policies for implementation of Stock and Financial Markets that you wanted so badly to make firm policies and increase growth.' 
John was quite surprised after hearing Sarah and didn't speak. 
Will too thought for a long-time and came to the same conclusion as he nodded deeply and spoke, "I thank Your Majesty for enlightening me about your social observations. I too will try to improve myself and the people around me. I will get back to business, Your Majesty, Tim has successfully made the lowered down versions of ships and also the production lines that can be used to make ships to be sold to other countries from the next month. Tim has handled quite efficiently at Aurora and trained a number of Engineers at our state-funded Aurora Shipyard Works. We also have Magic power Conversion machines in the Military training areas for our spies, Special forces and also at your palace. It is so that you can cultivate the magicians. People would only think that the place has a magic vein and won't suspect anything."
John nodded and sighed deeply as he thought, 'I guess this will only increase the arms and technology race between the countries. Anyway, countries wouldn't stop wars at any time. I guess I can only change this world step by step. Any way I can bait other countries to prepare to attack us in the future and that is when I will make my move when they feel that they are strong enough to attack us. Our Bordering countries will most likely backstab us so I should prepare for the worst.'
John nodded and dismissed Will, "You should go for now and prepare for the arrival for the emissaries from Aelius and other countries." Will nodded and left immediately with others after completing all the official business talks.


While returning home from a boring day of work, a black hole opened up in front of John and sucked him in. 

Before he was floating in the blackhole, a helmet latched on to him. "Uploading A.I under progress...Activating Survival Kit" A weird robotic sound appeared within the conscious of John and suddenly a white energy enveloped him... After opening his eyes, John noticed he was teleported to a whole new world. 

A world of magic and he was a user of a system. Arkon, the world John was brought too, was a medieval world which is 10 times bigger than earth. This new world held many new mysteries and this was the beginning of John's adventure. 

John will dominate and stir the world with his new system. Old technologies begone and use my advanced techys instead! Ha! you want to hold a politic, economical and military war with me? Sorry but my system is too broken for you all to counter.

The wealth of Armand Hammer, the chairman of Occidental Petroleum Co., was second only to Rockefeller. In 1931 though, he had not yet entered the oil business and was just a western capitalist with less than ten million dollars.
However, in China and Russia, he was a well-know "Red Capitalist[1]". He was the first western entrepreneur to work with the Soviet Union after the October Revolution and Lenin addressed him as "Comrade Hammer". He was also the first western entrepreneur to visit China by private plane, for which Deng Xiaoping had complimented as "Brave". But the main reason that attracted Huang Xuan was Mr. Hammer's entrepreneural spirit.
Many Chinese thought it was after the East Europe shakeup and the disintegration of the Soviet Union that Russia was leading the world in import and export profits. They are wrong though, as they were making the most profits the year the Soviet Union was formed, and the first to figure that out was Hammer.
In early August of 1921, Hammer joined a delegation going to the Ural region to do an inspection. The situation that he saw when they arrived confused him. On one hand, the region was endowed with treasures and resources such as platinum, diamonds and fur. In the office, Lenin welcomed Hammer and kindly conversed with him in English. When Lenin represented the Soviet government to express their thanks, the great Comrade Lenin was so excited that he shed tears. Afterward, Lenin encouraged Hammer to invest and build factories. He also allowed Hammer to build asbestos mines in Siberia, which would make him the first foreigner to have mining rights in the Soviet Union. This marked the beginnings of trade between America and the Soviet Union. Hammer formed the American United Company, approached more than 30 companies and seemed to have become the agent for Soviet trade in America.
Of course, Sloan knew about Hammer, in 1931 Hammer was quite well known in New York. This was due to the fact that Hammer was organizing a Soviet art auction in New York and almost all of the magnates had been invited. He wrinkled his brow and asked: "Mr. Huang, are you interested in investing in art too?" Huang Xuan was already used to telling these foreigners that his surname was Huang, and not Xuan.

This was because the V8 was like the other Ford vehicles and focused on production efficiency rather than new technology. But no matter what, this was an advanced car, it didn't matter that it cost over $300,000 USD, Ford was please with it.
Huang Xuan didn't intend to help Ford or GM grow their business. Although he only had 6 days left here, he still wanted more assurances, so he needed to pay close attention to the people and events close to him.

Of course, Rockefeller wouldn't directly ask this question, he gave Huang Xuan his business card and left, leaving the rest of the matters to Joseph. This was just a plain business card, unlike the modern age where the people who thought they were famous used precious materials to print a simple name. The card in Huang Xuan's hand was simple a card, with a simple name, using simple materials. Neither the card nor the contents seemed to fit with Rockefeller's status.
"Mr. Huang Xuan, I hope we still have opportunities to cooperate in the future." Sloan said. Whenever Sloan was around, Steve appeared to be much more reserved.
"Of course there will be." Huang Xuan smiled like a happy mouse that had drank some juice, and took the deposit receipt from Joseph's hands.

Iran had virtually no way out of the tight net of U.S. economic sanctions.
This was because the U.S. put the same standard on countries that did business with Iran.
However, the Iranian oil minister was saying that the U.S. overlooked Iran's deal with the Caspian Sea and coastal countries.
From the U.S. perspective, the U.S. was trying to maintain its dialogue channel with Iran, and at the same time, used it as an opportunity to impress the Caspian Sea coastal countries.
When the U.S. had even laid out the route, there was no reason to refuse it. It would save both the U.S. and Iran's faces if he proceeded with the Iranian oil deal.
There was a high possibility that the U.S. had encouraged the Iranian government to contact the Kazakh royal family to sell its oil.

"You're saying you're going to wash Iranian oil and export it through Kazakhstan. It feels like we're being used."

There were so many ideas I wanted to implement but I wasn't able to do much while we lived in a construction zone. At the very least, as promised, I got my library full of books donated generously by Franz and Mariela. 
Many of the Kanta didn't know how to read so I did my best to teach them. I was the clan leader's wife and had to stick to my duties but I was also a librarian and librarians helped patrons no matter what. 
Summer turned to fall and I was too pregnant to help with the vegetable harvest but nobody begrudged me that. I ran around a lot for a pregnant woman. 
It was exhausting and I struggled without the modern conveniences I thought I would have when pregnant. I craved foods that didn't exist here and wanted to watch movies I couldn't watch. Sometimes that, coupled with my hormones, made me irrational and angry. 
Throughout all of this Al was a saint. He continued to patiently love me through it right up until it was time for me to give birth in the fall.

A'Gahtay was facing him, pale and calm, pink lips gently shut, his long black hair laced across the blue pillow in slender waves.
Gamman's eyes traced the sweet, heart-shaped brow and cheek and swept the gentle slope of his lover's shoulder, following to where his fingers splayed out flat on the bedding in front of his stomach. 
For Gamman it was usually a combination of a man's scent, his physique, and his reactions to touch that lured him in. In this case, it was more — not just the sharp intelligence in the eyes, or the way he pressed his lips together in quiet protest, but also the way he conducted himself at work during the day — the certainty of mind and reassuring presence that conveyed his sincerity in every interaction. The ken had shadowed him just twice, before they'd approved him to be Shamahan's workmate, and there was no question he had the attention and steadiness that was needed for it.
Gamman laid his own hand lightly over A'Gahtay's fingertips and wondered again if they really were meant for each other.  Tellurin had been needling him for weeks, telling him to quit being stupid — A'Gahtay was obviously attracted to Shamahan just as much as he was attracted to him. And since those two were living together and would soon be stuck underground most nights it was a matter of time before their bond tightened.  
The two had already formed a sexual partnership, and Gamman could clearly see the affection between them. Every time Gamman felt A'Gahtay's gaze and had the full weight of his attention, he could sense it, the working cord that also tied him to Shamahan. It was driving him crazy.
He had tried once already to break it off. But he couldn't avoid his brother, and since A'Gahtay was often together with him, that meant he kept running into him. Every time, the young ken would follow after him, basically begging for his attention, regardless of if it meant ending up naked and on a leash. The embarrassment was not enough to warn him away.

He sighed and rolled back to face the skylights, black against the pale, domed ceiling that spread from one wall to the other.
He and his lover occupied one of the two sleeping plats in the loft in his bedroom. It was the main bedroom in his father's so-called apartment in the Crater District, in the hills above the city, overlooking the southern sea.  Having more or less taken over the main aspects of the family's unofficial export business in the past year, Gamman had also taken over the residence — his father usually went back into the underground overnight and didn't need this place, outside.  
The two plats lay diagonally across from each other, low to the floor and set atop heavy, braided rugs imported from Osroes. Against either wall there were long dressers cluttered with small boxes, vials, and empty glasses.
Access to the loft was provided by short stairways that hugged the curved wall to either side. There was space under either stair and plenty of storage for odds and ends — especially expensive liquor. Cushions were strewn about the floor, and a lone black tether with a carbiner clasp at either end snaked through them, released from duty and dropped out of the way during some game on a previous night. A blanket draped down from the rail at the edge of the loft, itself covered over with brightly-colored jackets and other clothing. Directly under that was the entrance to an alcove, which hid the bath. 
Gamman turned his head to gaze at A'Gahtay once more. *Since you're so determined to hunt me down every day, maybe I should bind you and also get you moved so you're working next to me instead of Shamma.* Satisfied with the idea, he relaxed, and a smile pushed aside the shadow from his brow. *Maybe I can make it so you can't even contemplate leaving.*
He considered what that meant.  Binding took effort — more effort than he had put into a relationship previously. It wouldn't be possible without Shamahan on his side. He'd have to talk to him, and that was nothing to look forward to.
He shut his eyes again, and the Tharig — the artificial intelligence — understood he was done looking and extinguished his visual of the room.  
Gamman was tired. He would have to do his seeking job underground in the morning, as usual. He could have done his export reviews earlier, but he had wanted to spend time with A'Gahtay, and it took longer than he planned. That left him needing to complete the reviews now, in the middle of the night.  
He asked, *I saw an order in there for three F-type 382 battery vats. Who are those going to?*
The Tharig gave its reply through its communication system, forming words in Gamman's mind, and routing them through his auditory sense so that it sounded like a second inner voice. *Sia Aya left the request undocumented; it is part of a shipment being handled through S.O. Port and presumably it will be routed from there.*
*Mountain men then?* It wasn't really a question. The shipment was headed for South Osroes Port, the main trading hub for Osroes, the continent 4,000 kilometers to the west. Getting an undocumented shipment through the port was no big deal — Sia Aya did it all the time, for his contacts in the upper mountain ranges. It kept their costs down, and in return he would be assured their continued friendship.  
The battery vats were expensive. They were designed for heavy industry and formulated for high altitude usage, and that meant they were headed for one of the high mountain ranges where they already had heavy equipment in use.
*Yes,* the Tharig replied. 
He thought about it for a minute, and then he reached out in the obomae. It would be afternoon in Thurinia. He tapped at Sia Aya.
A moment later, Aya came through, mind-to-mind.  The voice was cheerful, as usual, and the vibrancy of his tenor voice was modulated by the deep well of calm that Gamman knew first-hand. It was impossible to upset the man.
*Hi Gamman, I'm two hours out. Tharig says you need to sleep.*
*Two hours out?* Gamman asked. *From the Jitae? I just wanted to ask you about an order. Where are you?*
*I have business I want to discuss with you. I'll wake you when I get there.*
*Why are you —*
Gamman could feel Sia Aya close the conversation, and he tipped his head back and blinked, groaning to himself. *What now?* 
He stood and picked up the long green jacket he'd dropped on the bed earlier, and pulled it on. A glance showed A'Gahtay resting comfortably among the cushions like a great cat — one stretched out on the limb of an old oak in the woods at the foot of the Bath Peaks to the north, with a full belly and contented face.
He slipped down the steps and out into the narrow hallway, which wrapped around the back of the building. He headed left, where the hall sloped downward against the outer wall, and emerged in the solarium whose glass doors could slide open and grant access to the deck. There were three long sofas, and he pushed the cushions around on one of the red ones and made a place for himself to stretch out. His feet were uncovered, and he threw a pillow on top of them.
*Wake me when it's time. Don't let him find me asleep,* he ordered, and then he felt it as the Tharig stimulated his brain, and he let himself succumb to the wash of hormones as they signaled his body to rest.
