A man with lots of tattoos in all parts of his body, a flashy green, and red hair and piercing in his nose and mouth, was hysterically laughing for a while before he turned around and looked at a small figure laying on top of a personally made bed.
The bed was all bloodied and was equipped with metal locks that immobilize all four limbs, making it practically impossible to escape. There, on this hard and cold 'bed', there was a very young boy, no more than five years old, with an inky black hair and an unusually pale skin. The kid was shaking from fear, his eyes looking all around, trying to avoid the man's intense stare.
Seeing the boy's fearful attitude, the tattooed man walked towards the bound boy, leaned his head closer to the victim before saying:
"Do you know why you're name is Bin? Of course you don't! You only know how to cry and yell, as if it'll change anything. Honestly, it's such a waste… you had potential, intelligence-wise."
He turned around and raised an empty plastic garbage can, showing it to shaking child.
"You're no different than this shitty trash! If not for the positive results I'm getting from you, I would have dissected your sorry ass."
The man angrily complained before letting out a sigh and shifting in attitude yet again. Strangely, he caressed a spot in his shoulder while softly saying:
"Why can't you be like Shin? He's cool-headed, smart, and decisive. I know I'm not supposed to play favorites but he's definitely my best test subject!"
Right after saying that, the man retrieved a syringe and without caring about the boy, stabbed it on the latter's chest and injected the liquid inside.

"Ah!"
Bin got up from his bed, his whole body sweating and his heart beating like crazy. His sudden movement woke up Mina, who was next to him.
"Brother, what's wrong?"
While keeping his thoughts to himself, Bin urged his little to sleep before going to the bathroom and closing the door. He put his head under the sink and let cold water pour over him, his mind drifting to the past, remembering things that he wished he could forget.
'It's been a long time… why now?'
For the past several months, he had not dreamt about that yet it came back so suddenly, making him feel rather uneasy. He stared at his reflection on the mirror, his hand pressed against his rapidly-beating heart, which seemed about to burst.
Unbeknownst to him, the pumps planted by Ann were moving so ridiculously fast as they got rid of an absurd amount of Mana which was emanating from his heart. At first, Bin felt nothing but as seconds passed by, he started hurting.
The pain was coming from his heart, causing him to fall on the ground and pant for no less than five minutes. Fortunately, he managed to calm himself and purge the past memories, making his body return to its normal state.
'Did it happen because of that invisible woman?'
Knowing that someone was secretly following him reminded him of some despicable thing that occurred in the past. Anyways, Bin soon returned to the bed and fell asleep again, thankfully not having any more nightmares.

FORTUNA HOSPITAL- VIP SECTION
The assemblyman, whose face covered in bandages, was laying on his bed and thinking about something only for the sliding door of the room to open up.
"I told you I don't want to talk to anyone."
Right after he said that, he heard a sweet voice from the entrance.
"Uncle."
He turned around only to see a blond-haired girl accompanied by a man in a dark blue suit with glasses. He knew both of them but was confused about their sudden present here and at this time.
"O-oh, so it's you Melissa."
Secretary Park stood at the entrance of the room while Melissa walked up to the assemblyman.
"Are you alright? What happened?!"
Though she spoke with concern, her face remained expressionless. She stopped next to Hayden's bed and looked at his bandaged and disgusting face.
"It's noth-"
Before he could finish, the girl cut-him off by saying:
"It's doesn't look like nothing, uncle. Who did this to you?"
Although he found her behavior strange, Haydon still answered, finding it more suitable to ease her curiosity so she could leave right away.
"A crazy bastard, he-"
Yet again, he was interrupted after saying three words.
"Why would he attack an assemblyman though?"
Haydon lightly coughed and half-heartedly said:
"With my current status, it's normal to have a small public opposition."
"I don't think it's that though."
She coldly retorted, her hands fiddling with the medical equipment. As he maintained his silence while giving her a weird look, the blond girl calmly resumed talking:
"You know what I think? I think you're brazenly lying to me and that's not something I like."
Her sudden shift in tone alarmed Haydon, who tried to sit up only for her to push him back on the bed.
"M-Melissa?"
"As Rika's father, I gave you the basic level of respect but I don't think it's necessary."
She flashed a sweet smile at him before signaling Secretary Park with her hand. The moment she did that, the glass-wearing man appeared next to her and immediately started what was previously planned.
Threads made of light came out of his hands and tied Haydon while Melissa stuck something in the assemblyman's mouth.
"I don't want you yelling… plus, you only have to listen."
Just like anyone in the Magic Academy, Melissa was also able to use Magic.
Her hand flashed with a white light before it grabbed Haydon's neck. The strength behind her grip was simply monstrous yet the girl didn't bat an eye when she saw his face turn red, suffocating from lack of oxygen.
"As you most definitely know, my family has deep connections with the underworld so getting rid of an assemblyman is not a difficult thing. Haydon Parmalee, if I ever see you near Rika ever again, it won't end with a simple suffocation, I assure you that."

Sometimes...you can cry until there's nothing wet in you. You can scream and curse to where your throat rebels and ruptures. You can pray, all you want, to whatever god you think will listen. And, still, it makes no difference.

This is the story of a sick 19-year-old young man called Bin, who tasted despair ever since he was young. He became numb to the cruelty and unfairness of life yet he still lives, hoping that his little sister will live a life much better than his own. With not much time left to live due to his illness, Bin tries his best to gain some money for his sister before he leaves this godforsaken world.

It all began with a coincidental meeting... two fates intertwined together, one was a poor and dying youngster and the other was a spoiled and childish girl.

This story is only a stress relief and would only post when I'm free, the main focus would be my main story.

WARNING: I'm just writing this for FUN, so whether it has some cliché moments or anything of the sort, Do not blame me for you have been warned.

PS: For some special information, this story does not have much action, so if that is what you are looking for then I suggest you do not read. It has mainly slice of life/ Romance/ Comedy( a bit as I'm still a beginner in that) / Tragedy (not all of it but can be sad at times).

Continuing towards her original goal, Elizabeth entered the Guild's Exchange Hub. Much like the reception area, the Exchange Hub had dozens of staff members ready to assist any Guild members and since today was a slow day, there were well over a half dozen booths marked "Unoccupied." 

Thus, after picking a booth at random, Elizabeth walked in and was greeted by a smiling elderly man. She watched him press a button on his side of the booth, and the entrance behind her closed as she saw the previous green-tinted sign flip from "Unoccupied" to a red "Occupied" sign.

As the booth's privacy reached the Guild's standard, the elderly man asked, "Miss, what business do you have here today?"

"I'm looking for some books…" Elizabeth said.

"Ok, what kind of books do you need?"

"Mhmm… Let's see, I don't have specific books in mind, but from the descriptions I provide, could you give me suggestions?" The man nodded patiently before Elizabeth continued, "Then I'll need a book that details the history of this city, country, and the local geography. It would be best if the book or books you recommend have something written within them of the relationships between the various local powers, and a book on the Guild or Guilds in general would be appreciated."

With Elizabeth's demands coming to a stop, the elderly man paused in thought for a second before he said, "That shouldn't be a problem. I can send someone to fetch three books that cover all the information for just 80 Gold. However, that will only cover things in general terms. If you want as much detail as possible, I can think of just over a dozen books that will run you 275 platinum."

"Mhmm… Gold and Platinum? How do I earn that?" Elizabeth asked as she was essentially broke when it came to the city's currency.

"You don't have Gold or Platinum?" The elderly man looked a bit disappointed, but after taking another look at Elizabeth and sizing her up to be nothing but another brat still learning from the Academy, he came to reproach himself for not expecting this outcome. The elderly man continued, "You can trade resources you get from the field here in the Exchange Hub for currency or by completing bounties or missions for the Guild there will usually be a reward founded in the empire's currency."

"Going by how unsure you sound, I'm guessing you're not too sure what the empire's currency is, so I'll do you this little favor for free. In the Irealian Empire and all its governing cities, towns, and villages, the currency system follows a base in hundreds where Copper is the least powerful coin. 100 Copper is equal to 1 Silver, 100 Silver is equal to 1 Gold, and so the trend continues from Gold to Platinum to Mythril."

"Mythril being the highest valued coin is generally only used in Tier 1 cities of the Empire and since we are only a Tier 2 city, you'll find it generally difficult to find a reason to use that kind of money. But in Tier 1 cities and the capital, it isn't common for banknotes of Mythril to be used when transactions surpassing the hundreds of coins of Mythril are involved."

He concluded his explanation, and Elizabeth nodded in understanding. She then materialized a Monster Core that had come from the King Stage Jade Rabbit she had fought in the cave system earlier in the day — it was literally the weakest Monster Core in her possession after giving away the Level 10 Core to the guard who escorted her to the Guild. With an expectant look, she placed the Monster Core before herself and asked, "How much money will this net me?" 

Expecting maybe a couple coins of gold or perhaps even platinum, Elizabeth was floored as she watched the elderly man apparently black out after realizing what Level the Monster Core was.

"Uh…" Elizabeth felt bad for stunning the man unconscious, so she walked over to him and jolted him away with a tendril of Neutral Magic; an application of her Acupoint.

Seeing the elderly man come back to life with a heavy gasp, she asked, "Are you OK?" Alas, she was met with a look of disbelief and horror intertwined with excitement that she had not seen since the Wushi Tournament back on Earth.

"This… this Monster Core, is… is it…" The elderly man couldn't formulate a complete sentence, so Elizabeth affirmed his thoughts by saying, "It's a Monster Core that came from a King Stage Jade Rabbit; an Early Phase King Stage Jade Rabbit if you want specifics."

Hearing it from Elizabeth herself, the man's heart gave out, rendering him unconscious again. Seeing this, Elizabeth squinted her eyes in annoyance, thinking, 'Why can't he just do his job?' She sent another tendril of Neutral energy into his body, only this time, it split off into dozens of acupoints that would ensure he stayed awake for the next couple hours. Elizabeth could accomplish this because she was both a Grandmaster in the Art of Acupoint and her "patient" this time around possessed a very weak cultivation base at Level 1 Mortal Stage.

Awaking once more, the elderly man didn't even know he had blacked out twice as he propped himself up after seeing Elizabeth return to her seat. He pressed a different button on his desk, all the while shaking as if in mid-seizure and within ten seconds the door to the booth opened up with the arrival of a courier.

"I need 780 Platinum Coins…" The elderly man said despondently. Yet as both he and the courier looked at each other with mirroring emotions, Elizabeth spoke up to say, "Don't forget to subtract the 275 Platinum for the books." Flashing a look of shock at the elderly man, the courier wondered which prestigious member of the Guild he would have the honor of serving today, after receiving the order from the elderly man to add on Elizabeth's books to the money he was tasked with retrieving.

"Right away, sir…" The courier said as he moved with unprecedented haste to do his job.

After the courier left, Elizabeth realized that the elderly man hadn't asked for her card. A bit annoyed as she thought that perhaps the woman from the receptionist's office had lied to her, she asked, "Aren't you supposed to check my Guild Card? You didn't impose the 5% fee on me in advance, did you?"

"Ah! I knew I forgot something… Sorry, but could you show me your Guild Card now? I didn't detract from your payout as I assumed you were from Ulterian Guild." The elderly man, upon realizing his mistake pleaded as he would suffer a pay cut if this incident was made known to the higher-ups in the Guild.

Elizabeth shrugged her shoulders, 'After I joined this Guild, I better not be paying some stupid fee…' She handed over her Guild Card and after seeing the expression on the elderly man, she knew she had made the right decision to stimulate his acupoints as he would definitely be knocked out cold had she not moved proactively.

The man read the contents of Elizabeth's Guild Card no less than five times. He even rubbed his eyes as if to make sure he wasn't seeing incorrectly, but seeing as the information never changed, he finally couldn't help but screech: "SSS-Class… MAGE?"

"Yeah, but I'm from this Guild, so you better not add that 5% fee…" Ignoring the source of the man's shock as if it was but a trivial matter, Elizabeth restated what was of most importance to her. If she weren't a beautiful "Supreme Mage of Destruction," the average person would liken her to some sort of miser.

"O-of c-c-course…" The elderly man said before promptly turning silence; unwilling to look at Elizabeth.

The scene became tense as neither Elizabeth nor the elderly man spoke until at last, the courier returned with a small pouch filled with Platinum Coins and a pile of books on each of his hands. He was a Level 3 Mortal Practitioner so even if it looked like he'd be overwhelmed by the weight of the books, he didn't even break into a sweat.

Smiling at the sight of her new treasures, Elizabeth brought out some Storage Talismans before promptly putting everything away. She discreetly added the filled talismans into her Spatial Ring before departing from the booth without bothering with the elderly man and courier who had appeared to be smitten by her frivolous display of wealth; to them, the Storage Enchantment was a rare Spatial Treasure.

With her business in the Exchange Hub completed, Elizabeth returned to the reception area. Meeting with the same receptionist from before, she awkwardly requested a room to camp by as she read through the books she got in the Exchange Hub. After the receptionist explained to her the differences in the rooms she could rent as well their price, Elizabeth settled with paying 10 Gold for one of the rooms of the highest quality. Whereas most people rented by the month, because she and the members of her party agreed on spending only 25 hours in the Shadow Realm, Elizabeth only rented the high-class suite for a day.

She traded a platinum coin to pay for her lodging and received 90 Gold Coins as change before the receptionist gave her the key to her room. After getting the directions to her room, Elizabeth headed for the elevator and took a ride up to the 25th floor. There, she went towards her room, Room 2507, and was surprised by how well this world's definition of high-class measured up with that of modern Earth's standard.

In all honesty, it was at the level of a Five-Star hotel resort on Earth. With three separate bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room or lounging area, a kitchen, and a balcony view overlooking the city, the room could comfortably house an entire family. The room even came with various amenities in the form of artifacts. From what Elizabeth could tell there was the artifact equivalent for TV, air conditioning, artificial heating, and even a humidity setter.

Impressed, Elizabeth sat on one of the chairs in the living room before dumping the various books she had recently acquired on the coffee table before her. She materialized a snack from her near-endless reserves and indulged as she sat back and began reading. Of course, to her, a snack consisted of a full course meal.

Though she had over a dozen thick tomes to read, because of her Neutral Magic's application in scanning, even though her reading speed was cut as she needed to use it in conjunction with her Basic Translation Spell, she still read the books at a rate of one tome every ten minutes.

Death plagued the country and corpses had bite marks on their necks. At first Gnats were blamed for this disaster, or curses according to the gypsies divination

   The black stones were powered by the moon and made it impossible for the vampires to cross over. For once,the people of Wallachia were indebted and
grateful to the so scorned gypsy. But notwithstanding, the moonlight nights were approaching. Without the moon, the black stones were powerless and the vampires unleashed their horrors to the mortals.
   The marketsquare was the busiest place in Muntenia. For the rich elite in the society, it was rowdy. Bells jingled erratically as sellers sang to attract buyers to their wares.   "Sweet roses for your
sweetheart "....There were tents and booth owned by gypsies for their fortune telling and a snake charmer stood at the end of one, displaying acrobatic skills with a black cobra and the gathered crowd watched with glee and horror. Two gypsies gossiped about the approaching nights of horror

The young woman turned to her
  "Louka, will you stop calling me 'Draga' "
              Louka smiled, happy she had caught her attention.
      "You re my Draga"she retorted with undisguised adoration "Wonder why you dislike your birth name and choose to bear an 'Eng--lish ' name "Impatiently she thrust wads of leu into Louka's
palm. Giving Louka money each time she visited the marketsquare was now a tradition. She turned and continued walking at her usual flurry paces.
               "Draga!"she mused. She was  her father's Draga. Her eyes grew teary at the thought of her dead father.He alone had the right to call her that! He gave her that name because she was his girl.. Loucas Adam's darling. Darling was the most common
endearment in Wallachia.Everybody was someobody's Draga. But she was sure when other people called her that, none meant it.
         She pushed at the entrance door of the library. Her entry was accompanied with stares as many heads were strained to glare at her. And almost immediately hushed conversations began. Smoothing her silky apparel, she walked straight to the librarian,
ignoring the contemptuous look directed to her by the librarian's plump daughter.
    "Good day, Ms Balan I'm here for the books I ordered for "she said smiling warmly. The books her maid Elene, would never touch, so she had to come for them.
          Ms Balan smiled back as she turned to get the books, Elizabeth nodded to the young woman despite the disdain written boldly on her face.
"How do you do, Maria "
Maria snorted in reply as she studied Elizabeth why didn't she have such skin, as smooth as alabaster or lips like red wine?It was indeed sinful for anyone to be as beautiful as Elizabeth Draga Fleming, the younger woman thought eyeing her enviously. She was by far her rival for Sergius, the most eligible bachelor. It was no secret that Sergius lost interest in her after spying the violet eyed girl
in front of her.
         Ms Balan returned with the books wrapped in a bag. Her eyes sad as she wondered why such a beautiful girl would be interested in horrific books and not the romantic like other ladies were.
     "The book of the dead "Maria shrieked ensnaring people's attention.
         "Such horrific books are Elizabeth's favourites "she drawled mockingly. Ignoring her statement
Elizabeth fumbled with her purse for money. Maria's expression turned into greed at the wads of money being held out to her.
    Besting her mother, she snatched them, then sarcastically whispered "Draga mea "
 Outraged, Elizabeth glared at her
   "Don't say such words carelessly, l'm no darling of yours! So call me Elizabeth "she retreated stressing the Elizabeth.    Maria huffed
"Nonsense! What's Elizabeth? "eyeing her flaring curls, she growled scornfully
    "Elizabeth must mean 'the devil's daughter ' "
     "No! "a voice came to her rescue and Maria studied the speaker with a mixture of admiration and pain. He had a finely featured face and a sturdy attractive body.
            Avoiding Maria's heated gaze, he continued
  "Dr Fleming named her after
his beloved English queen Elizabeth Tudor I"his hand reached to touch her curls "Because of her infamous red hair and his inability to pronounce 'Draga ' "
   The harridan sniffed contemptuously
     "Where then comes her strange hair? Bet my life that she got it from hell "
          This outburst was followed with giggles and whispers. Elizabeth could hear some
muttering
         "Heard she was expelled from school because she is possessed by demons!"
    "legions of demon indeed! "
 Maria struck the last jibe
    "Now she writes books about demons! "
   Elizabeth felt a flush rise to her cheeks, her violet eyes flashing in anger. Seeing those turbulent eyes, Maria backed away to a safer distance. Tracing the cross sign
over her face she retorted icily
 "Eyes of a witch "
   "Silence! "the man who had touched her curls snapped. A hush silence ensured, It was apparent that they were afraid of this speaker. Draped in guns, he surely inspired fear. Clutching her arm, he led her out.
      "Considering the numbers of exotic libraries in Bucharest, I wonder why you are here " He snarled.
Her chin rose up arrogantly
 "I get the books I desire here! "she stomped her feet. Already knowing the 'desired books ' he asked no further questions.
      Placing his hands possessively on her waist he pressed a kiss against her cheeks. And she stiffened at his embrace, he felt it and smiled sadly, it was expected. Elizabeth was just too frigid. He stared down into her face, even though the day was hot, the heat
rising from her body was sweetly scented.
   "You should stay away from Maria, Draga mea "...his calling her 'my darling'infuriated her but she let it pass.
     "I don't understand her hatred of me, Sergius "
    Sergius swallowed the knot of apprehension clogged in his throat, apart from the jealousy that Elizabeth was far more beautiful than her. He was responsible for
the incensed hatred.
   "Why are you here? "she curiously asked.
    He smiled flirtatiously "I came to get this.. "he revealed the bouquet of roses hidden behind him. At her admiring glances he added
  "..For you.. as an encouragement. How is your book going?  you know how we hunters adore your works "
      She grinned, an act that spread warmth to his heart.
"Because it spills most  secrets of the vampire "
  He ran his hands over her fiery hair "You are so talented"
   He glanced away, unable to meet her clear eyed gaze. He had betrayed her trust countless times, spreading horrible rumors about her to any pursuing admirer 'she's cursed 'he would tell them 'I know her too well 'he would add with a speculate gleam  "she's an insane whore, plagued by demons "Then
he would grin victoriously when their interests turned to disdain.
    She turned to wave as her Peugeot pulled away. With a smug satisfied grin, he thought 'I'm the only one for you now, or you'll die an old maiden, Draga mea "

Elizabeth opened the box again. She waved her hand, and a large frost barrier appeared around her.
Only frost dragons could do this. They were stronger within their barrier, and nobody outside could sense their magic wave.
After she made sure Fox could never catch her magic wave, Elizabeth picked up the ring.
Between what her father had just said and Fox's strange behavior, she could tell her uncle didn't really care if his brother was alive or dead. He expected to find something in the ring, Elizabeth thought.
Elizabeth waved the ring, and then a letter and two palm-sized boxes came out—one golden, one silver—and also a strip of paper, with some black scribble on it. "Put on a disappointed face if you're not alone, and say there's nothing inside."
That was why she had lied to her uncle. When she told him the ring was empty, she had glimpsed the icy blue light around his fingers disappearing.
Fox was a 9th-tier magic caster. She didn't stand a chance against him; she couldn't even break his frost barrier.
Uncle was always nice to me. I considered him one of my closest family members. But, he wanted to kill me because of this ring? What happened to Father? Why didn't he come back? She had so many questions.
She looked at the two boxes inlaid with precious stones, and picked up the letter. It was cold and hard like a piece of ice.
Suddenly, a silver light arose from the silver envelope and circled around Elizabeth. Then it flew back into the envelope; the ice broke, and out came the letter.
Elizabeth opened the letter. "Elizabeth, my daughter, I'm so glad you're reading this, and I'm sorry for having left without saying goodbye," the message read. She felt her eyes grow wet as she recognized her father's writing.
"Don't waste your time looking for me, 'cause I'm also looking for someone. You are to become the queen of frost dragons. They thought I lost to Alex and then died from a serious wound or something, right? No. I didn't come back because I have an important matter to attend to. Also, I want to find Alex. I don't think he's dead.
"I have to tell you something. 17 years ago, I fell in love with a human girl. Her name was Gillian. She was pregnant with a girl when I left her to take care of some business; she should be 14 by now. If I was right, she should be a golden dragon, like your grandmother.
"I'm sorry that I fell in love with another girl. Your mother's death was a great blow to me. Gillian comforted me and gave me peace. I didn't want them to get in trouble because of me, so I never went to visit them after I left. Also, I felt ashamed. In the two boxes are two dragon pearls. After Mag took Amy to school, he went to a bookstore and bought some history books about this world.
No species had ever dominated the whole world before, so the history books were many and varied. Mag didn't know if he could trust these books, but at least they could serve as a good mean to kill time.
Since his memories concerning the elven princess might have been erased, Mag actually didn't fully know the continent.
He knew little, among other things, about Dragon Islands and Ghost Islands. Irina had to have been with him when he went to those places. So, he had to read books to understand this world better.

Mag did some reading in the afternoon, and then went to pick Amy up from school. After dinner, when he opened for business, he found about 100 people waiting outside, which served as a perfect advertisement.
Amy ate a braised chicken and rice in front of them, and more people ordered this dish than during lunchtime.
After Yabemiya told him how many bowls of braised chicken had been ordered, Mag said to the system, "I want to buy another earthenware pot."
"You have no right to buy—"
"If I make more money every day, it will take me much shorter to earn enough to upgrade the restaurant."
"The earthenware pot is ready in the cupboard! 10 gold coins has been deducted! Thank you!"
Mag took out the new pot, which was exactly the same as the old one. Braising chicken was a time-consuming process, so he had bought another pot to increase efficiency.

"We'll keep on eating— no, looking for them, Boss?" Blacky asked as they walked out of a roasted meat restaurant, bloated from eating too much.
"Of course! We have eaten— no, looked for them in 88 restaurants. If we stopped now, it would be all for nothing!" Anselm touched his stomach and walked towards their next destination.
"I can't eat another bite. It's getting late. I think they might have left," Blacky said, worried. They hurried after their boss.


In Chaos City on the Norland Continent, there is a strange restaurant.

Here, elves and dwarves share tables. Beastmen are prohibited from making a din, and giant dragons can only seat around the tiny square in front of the restaurant. Even demons have to bring their own stools…

But it is such a strange restaurant that has long lines outside every day.

Elves are stuffing kebabs, paying no mind to their manners; giant dragons are sitting around a hot pot, strainers in their hands; demons are eating nice-looking dango…

"There's no other place on this continent where you can find food like that! The boss here is a genius!" a customer provides such a review. Then, he gives a furtive look at the door. "Also, don't you think of kidnapping the boss away or dine-and-dashing, or you will suffer a tragic death."

"Eat, pay, or you will be beaten to death." says a cute little girl in her childish voice as she trots forward. A five-meter tall dragon shivers when it meets her eyes.

Mason woke up in another environment he thought to himself about how each time he closes his eyes he seems to be waking up in another unknown environment,he chuckled to himself realising how much he missed many things in his old world in his later years,  What this world now offered him, family, Affection and human interaction what his old life lacked and he was happy with this .

As Mason scanned the environment he noticed a window through the Cot he lay in on top of a wall.
Mason was too small to look at the window, He was far too small to get to see over this and felt a tingling premonition behind him. Suddenly his body raised up to the window making Mason shudder with fear but realised this was an unnecessary concern after hearing his father's comforting voice

Grant laughing  said playfully "Scared you didn't i"

What confused Mason was his farther's sneaking skills, they were abnormal at the least.
Grant lifted Mason to look out the window noticing his interest, Mason looked at his new Home a town which was mostly made out of wooden structures and as you looked inwards stone buildings and more extravagant buildings shot up and in the middle a large building which was probably the lord of this town he could tell that districts seems to be made circular and as you move inwards you reach areas where citizens with higher standing lived ,As Mason diverted his gaze he saw stone walls which walled of the city which probably meant there was not gunpowder in this world as walls became irrelevant at the invention of the cannon, this meant the current advancement would still be in the dawn of the sword and chivalry combat but he thought to himself about how destructive phenomenon can be on Earth, If a person in this world could harness this they, in essence, would be a living superweapon and this made him shudder.

Mason still yet to get rid of his untalkative state and a distinct delay was between his words
"Farther, the priest, able to do that thing, ca ca can i do it "

Grant heard the enthusiasm in the voice but became solemn and in expression
 "Though your young you seen to of uncannily benefited from that lightning bolt, That priest that we visited is what would be called a Magic Caster or a mage basically they cast magic and....." Grant paused as not wanting to say "To be a mage you need to either be a noble or get the mage organ "sighing with heavy breathes 

Mason read the mood at least and could tell his farther didn't want to say the last part,One thing Mason noted was that phenomenon was referred in this world as magic and that nobles are mages by birth or if you are a mage you are equivalent to a noble meaning mages where the highest in the food chain in the societal structure  and this made Mason sadden by what his dad said and realised why he paused so much to say it, Basically he will never be a mage .

Grant noticed the solemn expression "Don't be bogged down son you have a chance to grow, hey ,at least you can become strong ,Look at me " Grant flexed his muscles comically to lighten the mood "and anyway son your my child, I will teach what I can and at least you could try to use body enhancement magic, t hough sadly that's not a special trait "

Grant was confused as himself as when he talked to his son it felt like talking to an adult but he dismissed this weird sense from his mind and just put Masons question up to a child's curiosity.
Grant picked Mason up and traversed into the living room which was very small like Mason's old apartment, He placed Mason on the chair next to a wooden table, Uncanny that his wooden decrepit chair held similarity to the one he used in his previous residence when he was on earth.

Hard loaf bread and a stew from what he could tell with a rabbit in it was in the middle of this table, Mason's stomachs rumbled realising he did not eat for a day .
Elizabeth his mother chimed in "Looks like father and son are having fun, i bet you are hungry my little one "Elizabeth walked from a kitchen area and pinched Mason's cheek and stretched it then she learned to kiss Grant then after that lowering herself to kiss Mason on his forehead.
 "Now then my love once we eat why don't i  read some stories to Mason while you go out  "                    

Realising Elizabeth concern for Mason due to recent events Grant nodded and tucked in, Elizabeth was scared for Mason and the tone of voice you could tell even if you're not normally talked to like Mason, But even he could tell, She clearly didn't want he child to go through any more tribulations.

Grant started to tuck in while Elizabeth carefully cut up the bread and dipped it in the stew and blew on it to cool it down then gave it to Mason to eat, Mason could tell he was hungry but he also was very  hungry for information as his calling as analyser forged him to do want as much as food, as he wanted to know the history of this world even if it's from an over exaggerated children's story.

Time passed by while and Grant finished his portions,  Mason was happy in that his family could eat decently and probably better than subsiding on instant foods which Mason did in his previous life, He thought probably due in fact his father is a probable hunter an as even as a child he could detect a adult behind him so he at least had stealth capabilities and from what he know .

Grant got up and went away with a kiss of his wife and a kiss to his son then waved away, Seems that Mason was right.His father went out with a bow, skinning knife and a sword.
Mason asked "what does, does daddy need those for "

Elizabeth playfully said "Well to hunt down beasties in the night with go into your bed at night if you don't eat your food"

Mason faked a slight fidget and nervousness which made Elizabeth chuckle 
"Now then my son why don't I get some books, want to hear about the knight in shining armour "

Mason nodded with zeal and Elizabeth jumped to get the book,Mason realised it seems somehow books where mass produced as a commoner family probably would not earn enough to buy them in the medieval times if this what he saw front the current technology if you can call it that was the current stage the civilisation was at, but he realised if a magical baptism gives him the ability to speech in the language and seemingly read this world which gets around the problem from medieval times where commoners could not read ,so henceforth from this assumption  books would be in more demand and probably some "mage" though up a way to mass produce .

As his mother came back he came back from the shelf with a dusty book, As Mason looked at the title it had an undecipherable text but it seems to like the words melded as if living under his sight and turn into the words which he could read which he just put up to the Baptism magic cast on him and that his mind subconsciously can decipher the language to what he could understand as to does with speech and somehow makes his speech in the same way,He pondered for a second how would he be able to use this baptism,  if he learnt a new language does it allow the same subconscious effect or does he need to be baptised by a priests in a place with a different language confer the same benefit and if it does how does he tell what language is he actually speeching,  as if the assumption if this world is approximately the same size of earth is correct there would be vast cultures and languages, this made him excited to have a new world to understand and learn about.

The title of the book read the "Tales of the Silver Knight"

Elizabeth chimed "this is a old book which Grant read when he was a child so i had to look a little more into it "

Elizabeth began to read this story but he realised something very important when listening to this story, after it was done he was placed in his dainty cot and was left to nap as the book was fully read through even though Elizabeth asked if he wanted a break but Mason refused and eventually not taking a break with his body catch up to him or it should anyway even if it didn't .

He thought to himself that the story at least did for him.

 'It seems one of my hypothesises was correct out of the two'

The Year is 2129 ,phenomena appeared within the month of June like a apocalypse decimating areas of the world where magical like anomalies appeared destroying areas like malevolent entities and it did so as if warping reality to its whim ,A new profession of analysers was born which analyse this phenomena where they must understand all the concepts of science there minds can comprehend to deduct these phenomena and try to scientifically justify it to try to save the peoples lives.
This will have transmigration element as the main factor, i now its cliche .This is just a little project im working on in spare time just to try out writing a novel for the first time   so please do give criticism where is due and help me correct and improve.

Austin absorbed all the information available to him knowing it could be a long while before he got another chance to come back. 'Laura's status is actually so powerful... I better not anger her too much."
Time quietly passed by as morning turned to afternoon and afternoon turned to evening.
~The Royal Residence~
"Your Majesty, Her Highness still has not come out from her room."
"Did you place her meal down in front of the door?"
"Yes, her morning and lunch meals are still there. They have not been touched."
'Sigh, I understand. Don't worry about it anymore."
"Your Majesty, Her Highness has never skipped a meal before."
"I know, I know, you're dismissed," Elizabeth groaned, waving her hand.
"Your Majesty." Bowing, the maid left.
"I'm sorry Elizabeth, Laura would not be like this if it wasn't for my son..."
"It's not your fault Elena, Geez! That daughter of mine is so troublesome when it comes to Austin. What's with her behavior... who taught her to be like this!" Elizabeth grumbled. An answer flashed through Elena's head but she did not dare voice it out.
Laura had not moved from her bed the entire day. She was tightly hugging the pillow Austin slept on the night before, sniffing it without stopping. She was trying to take in any of his lingering scent that may still be there. But repeating this action for the thousandths time, it had already long been lost...
"Austin... Austin..." weeping out loud, there was a large wet patch formed on the bed from her endless dripping of tears.
Laura wanted to get up and find Austin countless times, but knowing he would be disappointed at her for doing so, she had been greatly enduring, seeking his praise in hopes he'd reward her when he came back. 
"Come back already..."

In the library, Austin remained sitting on the small stool by the window, the light from outside was slowly diminishing, making the text increasingly harder to see. Already reading at a pace beyond human limitation, he had to go even faster.
Thankfully, his worries turned out to be for naught as small gleaming orbs appeared from thin air, floating around and illuminating the entire room. Austin sighed in relief, thanking the existence of magic.
Finishing off his current book, Austin reached out beside him to grab the last one in the pile. To his other side laid over ten massively thick books. Each one would have taken the average person months to finish.
'Cultivating Mana.'
Starbooks:
A Mage's rank is determined by the number of spells they possess.
To cultivate, they must use a starbook that belongs to their Magical Attribute.
Each starbook contains one spell, which grants the user two stars after being able to cast it.
Five Rank 0 star books are required before advancing to a Bronze Mage. Similarly, five Rank 1 star books are then needed to become a Silver Mage, continuing in sequential order.
Star Tablets:
Upon reaching a new Class, Mages are granted an opportunity to gain a star tablet that is classified by grade rather than rank. Rather than spells, star tablets give Mages a permanent skill that can be passive or a unique ability.
The Grade of star tablets range from Common, Rare, Epic, Profound, Ancient, Mystical, and Godly, all of which except Godly contain three tiers being Low-Tier, Middle-Tier, and High-Tier.
One is required to undergo a trial in the star constellation to determine what kind of star tablet they receive.
The majority of Mages are only capable of acquiring a Common and Rare Grade star tablets. Whilst Dual-Attribute and Triple-Attribute Mages have a far higher talent and therefore are given trials that reward a higher Grade skill. The trial is based solely on potential and not on strength, so average Mages can be stuck with Common and Rare Grade star tablets for their entire lives.
Mana Purity:
Two Mages of the same rank can use the same spell but be different in power depending on the purity of their mana. The purity of mana changes based on one's comprehension of their spells.
To use a starbook, only 30% comprehension is required. Afterward, one's overall power will increase as their comprehension deepens.
The higher the rank of the spell, the harder it is to comprehend.
It is best to comprehend a current starbook as much as possible before starting to learn a new spell, as doing so will make the old spell unable to be comprehended further.
Multiple Magical Attributes:
Mages with more than one attribute are special in having a wider variety of spell books to choose from, making them incomparably stronger. For example, Fire Mages have strong explosive magic but weak defensive spells, whilst Earth Mages are the other way around. However, a Mage with Dual Fire and Earth attributes can excel in both areas.
Warrior Cultivation:
Warriors also depend on the purity of their mana to become stronger but don't rely on comprehending spells in doing so. Due to having no particular attributes, Warriors are able to absorb mana directly from the World and use it to temper their body, unlike Mages. This is because the World's mana contains every element, which a Mage's body naturally repels for there is already an existing element lying within them.
A Peak Bronze Class Warrior will have 20% mana purity, 40% at Peak Silver Class, and so on.
Testing for Magical Attributes:
To determine one's Magical Attribute, they are placed in front of the six different types of spell books - Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Light, Dark. The books that light up in response are the ones they have an affinity with.
Finishing the final book, Austin looked outside to see that it was totally dark. Needing to put all the books away before he could leave, he got up and stretched before picking up a heavy stack out of the pile.

Austin, not knowing how long he had been in the library for, was quickly running around the empty halls and returning the books back to their positions.
He didn't want Elena worrying too much and knew Laura was probably not in a good state right now.
The sun has long since set and no one has walked passed outside for many hours, indicating the deepness of the night.

Orbs gathered around him, providing light as he shifted through the shelves.
Because the Royal Library was one of the most important places in the Western Region, he made sure each book was put back exactly where they belong, apprehensive that his actions were being recorded.
Roaming around the library, Austin noticed that there were some places that orbs did not gather, leaving spots of darkness. Naturally, one needed a higher level of permission to access those areas.
Austin was content with how he had spent his day.
Learning much about the world, he could now set goals and plan ahead for the future.
His first goal was to test for which Magical Attributes he had. That would be where everything could begin.
Because Elena was a Mage and Attributes had an almost guaranteed chance of getting passed down from one's parents, he didn't worry too much about not having one.
At the end of the day, he could still cultivate as a Warrior. But admittedly, that was not as exciting as using actual magic.
Austin's purpose in life was not pursuing ultimate power, but rather to solely have fun. However, having countless experiences behind his belt, he knew real strength came first. The only problem now was his restricted freedom...
"Arghh." Austin groaned in frustration.
'Shelf Z10...'
At the shelf located at the very end of the library, Austin felt there was something different about the air here, but could not quite put a finger on what it was. It felt cold, hot, light, and heavy all at the same time, creating a very perplexing sensation.
There was a dark area where the orbs of light avoided very close by.
Elsewhere, two old men were watching a large screen of light.
"Sir, the child Queen Elizabeth had given permission for entry is getting close to Restricted Area 1."
"Oh? Is he trying to go inside?"
"No, I believe he is just there to return a book, that is what he has been doing so far. But I don't know what's going on in his head... The entire day he was just flipping through books and not even bothering to read them. Those books were all very detailed as well and didn't have any pictures in them either...
"Haha, just let him be then. Since he is connected to the Queen, we shouldn't disturb him."
"But we won't be able to see if he enters the Restricted Area, there is no vision orb there."
"Are you stupid? Those places are obviously shielded by a barrier. Gold Class Mages are not even able to easily enter, what do you think a child without any magic could do?"
"Oh, right..."
Putting the book back into the shelf, Austin was now only meters away from the space shrouded in darkness.
Standing in the light, the two sides made a contrasting image like yin and yang.
Austin felt like there was something alive within it. It was like staring into the abyss and the abyss staring back.
Wanting to get a clearer look, he took a few steps forward to investigate.
4 meters...
3 meters...
2 meters...
He was getting closer and closer but still could not see anything but a dark mist.
1 meter...
The mist did not change. Only, the black particles congregated together, forming something like a shield to warn him from coming any closer.
Seeing his attempt was futile, Austin turned around to walk away.
Suddenly, An invisible force locked onto him!


Passing away peacefully on his deathbed, he embraced death, having fulfilled himself in life and left no regrets behind. 
Reincarnated into a magical world filled with the unknown, a new adventure awaits.
With immeasurable talent, he desires neither fame nor wealth, simply complete freedom to roam the world, unbound by the fetters in life. But will his journey turn out so simple?

LA Malvar Minor – Archive Room...

Azul was checking the records regarding Belinda Malvar the founder of the White witch clan Malvar, she do doubt the story she heard today from the William's. She has taken every book regarding the founding of the clan, but still there's no records of Belinda having an elf for an husband and had twin with him. All she can find out that Belinda and Carolina was the first witch of the clan who secretly aid the human in their fight against the evil side.

She was on the last book of the medieval era, she spend two days just to study the history of their clan when a knock disturbed the silent room. The door was open and the first thing Azul noticed was the sweet smell of hibiscus tea it filled the small archive room, then her eyes drifted to the person carrying the food tray it was grandmother Elizabeth. Her Grandmother Elizabeth still has that youthful look and since she became a vampire her sandy colored hair turned darker. 

"Anina sweetie it's been two days you have been holed-up in this record room" Elizabeth place the try on the nearest table and poured tea for Azul. 

"Grandmother Eli, sorry I did not notice the time" she was so engrossed on reading and afraid that she might missed something, she put all her focus on the books. She stood up and approached the table and accepted the tea offered by Elizabeth.

"What are you looking for young lady?" Elizabeth poured tea for herself and savor the aroma before sipping "I might help you"

"Dark era, Belinda Malvar" and she did the same things as Elizabeth, Savor the aroma before drinking the tea.

"The founder the grand matriarch" Elizabeth furrowed her eyebrows at her "What about her?"

"Well grandmother!" She put down her tea cup and look at Elizabeth " I met the Williams today at the cinema and they told me the story of the Dark era and how we Malvar has blood of the elves running into our veins, so here I am checking the records of history of the Malvar if that story is true or false…. Hmmm… so far I haven't seen any records of that claimed blood line.

"Well its true" and Elizabeth munched on a cookie "We do have blood of the elves"

(O_O)… "Grandma there is no record or what so ever written in the books" she look at Elizabeth in a serious manner "Is there a hidden records room that I don't know about?"

"This is the one and only records room the Malvar minor have" and Elizabeth furrowed her eyebrows at her.

" Grandma, We have the blood of the elves?" she shake her head " That is impossible, Elves are the holiest of all creation while the vampires are from the dark side, is like night and day,  they will not be together or be combine.

Elizabeth give Azul a confused look.

"Grandma, What I mean is, if we have elves blood- mother or you had become derange   and we, us your children will not exist" Azul got a little frustrated by the unrealistic of the situation. 
"Oh! So that the reason, why you holed up here for two days" Elizabeth laugh at her " Sweetie you are the smartest and talented in your generation but still you proven that your still inexperience, your still a child" "hahahhaha!

Elizabeth laugh louder when she sees the expressions of my face that is usually emotionless.
"Sweetie we are not fully Vampires we still have the human or witch within us" and she smile at me warmly "You of all people should know this, you are a human at this moment!" and she let me digest her worlds. " a normal human once bitten by a vampire they will become a mindless eating machine or became a wholly vampire , but we retained our human side while we have a vampire reside in our body, it co-exist within us.

"It makes sense" It was a question linger in my mind for a long time, it just that I haven't got the chance to asked mother about it. But it really make sense that I and my twin or Elizabeth children has a two persona.

"And haven't you wonder why you guys has two different eye colour?" Elizabeth asked again which I nodded my head " Elves only has four eye colour , Blue which represent the ocean and the sky, green which is the nature, Grey which is metal and precious stone" and she look at me in the eye " and Gold which represent creation just like the colour of your right eye. 

That was too many to digest, Blue has the ability of storm, affinity of air and water, while me I can summon anything from fire to vines. 

Elizabeth hand a vial to me "Great Grandfather Elaran asked me to give this to you" I checked the vial what inside is a golden liquid  " He said it's from grand matriarch and he advised that you should drink it in full moon to make it more effective"

Now- I- am- so- confuse- look (@_@) was given to Elizabeth.

"Oh! It's a medicine for you! How to put it, when you were stabbed and on the death door you parents went to find the Grand Matriarch for help, you were shrinking in size and age, when they reached the Kingdom of elves you return to a baby,  if they wait one more day you might vanish. You stayed with the Grand Matriarch for a hundred of years. She has prolong your life slowly getting you off the critical stage but the price you pay is your eon of years sleep. 

"I was in the Kingdom of elves? " This is the first time she is hearing this

" Yes" and sip her tea " your parents avoid mentioning all this because they don't want to remember that nightmare" who want to recall all the suffering the von Holstein couple undergo, Margaret almost went crazy and her nephew-in-law went on killing spree almost wipe out the rouge. 

Azul was speechless, she felt sorry for her parents and brother although it was not intentional she still feel pain, she was sulking when when she remember the missing records.

"Blue clam down will you! She rolled her eyes at him, he was like a mother hen.
 
"When something wrong with you, I got to be blame for, as if I am your sitter "Blue glare at her.

"I am fine ok, there's nothing wrong with me"

Our Anina Ziya Ulyana Love von Holstain y Malvar in short Azul a black haired with honey colored skin lady, a novelist at 30(Virgin)  a half Vampire & Witch had witness a fight between werewolf, vampire, witch & hunter. Amazed & enlighten for her next book. Decided to collect writing materials by observing this action pack & tenacious fight. Our passerby Azul almost clap her hands in joy to the scene unfolding in front of her. Unsatisfied with her viewing area she move closer to have a greater view forgetting the word “caution “.
Our passerby human self was accidentally badly injure before she knows it her world turn dark.

"I like you. I honestly like you." Elizabeth Everwood's words were like foreign language to his ears. Frey understood none of it. Or maybe, his head had simply stopped working altogether. 

He only came all the way up to the school rooftop because Perry told him there was a surprise waiting for him up here. Should've known that idiot's grin spelled trouble for him. 

Alone on the rooftop the two of them were. Elizabeth stood three meters ahead, and she'd been sightseeing, leaning against the railing, before she sensed Frey. She began marching closer to him, with large strides of confidence.

"Hey Elizabeth," Frey cleared his throat. "maybe you're mistaking me for someone else? I only came here because my friend told me to--"

"--Shut up." she cut him off. Elizabeth was finally in front of him, her face inches close to him. 

The sky was deep orange laced with purple strips of cloud. The sun, well setting to the west, painted the whole scene with a scarlet glow. 

Sunlight complemented Elizabeth's face like a charm, and suddenly Frey was aware of how long her lashes were, colored chestnut like her wavy short hair. How her blue eyes glowed. How soft her pink lips looked. Frey never found Elizabeth so beautiful before. Sure, she was beautiful, treated the Campus Queen by everyone in the school, but he couldn't care less about her. Until now.

Even when they go to the same book club every Thursday, Frey always had his head buried in his book, that the most he'd seen of her was around the corner of his vision.

"Elizabeth?" Frey turned away, cheeks burning, palms cold. Her face was close. Too close. Safe to say, it was the closest they've ever been to each other, physically.

"A lot of boys had asked me out," Elizabeth started. "but none of them interested me more than you. You never tried to talk to me, never tried to impress me, and to be honest, I took it as an insult. Who does this guy think he is, ignoring me?" 

"I didn't mean to ignore you."

He was ignored.

"I sneaked glances at you when you weren't looking, and I always tried to make you look my way, even hiding your books so that you'd ask me if I knew where they were. I didn't notice it, but I began looking forward to attending book club every week."

"Uh... So you hid my books?" Frey asked.

"Yes. It was your fault anyway, you were such a snob. You got a problem with that?" Elizabeth raised a brow.

"N-no." he had a lot of problems with it.

Frey didn't know Elizabeth Everwood was so... irrational. He was reminded again why he didn't talk to people, especially to women.

"So if you don't have a problem, that means we're dating now, yes?"

"Yeah we're--wait what? Aren't we taking this a little too fast?"

Elizabeth narrowed her eyes. "So you're saying you don't want to be in a relationship with me?"

"No I don't mean... I mean I don't mind, but don't you think we should get to know each other better first? Look, I don't even know a thing about yo"

"You're right. We should get to know each other." Elizabeth held his cheeks. She pulled him in for a kiss. Frey closed his eyes, savoring the warmth of the moment. What was just three seconds of touch of their lips felt eternal to him. An eternity that ended too soon. He opened his eyes. 

Elizabeth... Elise, was no longer the one in front of him. 

It was a woman with golden eyes, seductive red lips, wearing a black gown laced with red.

"Frey Alcott." Victorina smiled. Paralysis shot through his body.

"No..." He couldn't take a step back. He couldn't do anything. Victorina locked lips with him, but it was cold, poisonous. He felt as though she was sapping the strength out of him. He didn't close his eyes. Who knew what would happen if he did.

Over the rooftop's metal railing a fray of black tentacles appeard. They coiled around the railing, as bright blue light slowly rose up. Victorina still held him in a kiss. He could hear the slurch as the thing that killed him dragged itself over the railing and onto the rooftop, its dozen eyes glowing fatal blue.

Frey's eyes shot open. Above him was the cottage's ceiling made of weaved grass.

"Elise..." he murmured, still laying in bed. His heart pounded on his chest. Beads of sweat peppered his face. 

It's been a month since the game had started. A total of four Players had been eliminated since then.

It was the end of his training. He dragged himself up and wiped his body with cloth, before going out.

He walked up to Shin, who sat on the grass outside the cottage in deep meditation.

"Shin." he called out from behind.

"Yo." the man said without turning to face him. "It's your graduation day. You ready?" The wind blew, cold and gentle, ruffling the grass and soothing their kimonos.

"Hell yes." he said. He meant it.

"Then you best pack your things up and get suited. But, before that," the man stood up with a grunt. "follow me."

They both walked to the back of the small cottage. Frey didn't know why. Shin unstrapped the sheathed katana from his waist. Frey never saw Shin use the sword, but he knew it was his Player Weapon.

"Hey, kid. Remember what I told you about Artifacts?" Shin asked.

"That they're the strongest weapons that grow stronger with use?"

"Right. Actually, there's one thing about them that I forgot to tell you."

"What is it?" 

"Well Artifacts grow with time and use, but they have a side effect to the owner."

"Which is?" He was growing suspicious. Why did Shin choose to tell him now, of all the times, and not sooner?

"Artifacts, they bind with their wielder, one way or another. It's some sort of a mutualistic relationship between owner and tool.

"I'm gonna go straight to the point, Frey. The reason why I never taught you how to use your Player Weapon, is because your armblade is an Artifact. And it's not a good one."

"What... do you mean?"

"I've seen your weapon--fought against it, even, twenty years ago."

Frey's face contorted in bewilderment. "You mean, a Player of your generation had the same Player Weapon?" 

But how can that be? He thought each Player was given their own unique weapon suited to their fighting tendencies. Was that not how it worked?

"I don't know. It's been a long time ago and honestly, I wasn't sure it really was the same weapon, until yesterday Mori confirmed it."

"Who's Mori? Your smith friend?"

Shin tapped on the hilt of his katana. "This, this is Mori."

He grabbed the sword's handle and pulled it from its scabbard with a flash. Gleaming acidic green was Shin's mysterious blade finally drawn. It was a thin Japanese sword that, instead of having a black and silver blade, was jade-colored all over with a toxic luster. On the blade collar just before the guard, a green eye was affixed.

The eye shifted, that it stared at Frey with its jade-colored iris. It blinked a few times, before turning away.

Frey had pretty much lost it at this point. In this world, books write themselves. He thought he had understood that this world was magical, and therefore he shouldn't expect anything "normal" to come out of it, but still a sword with an eye? Is it gonna talk next?

"I do not like the stare your student is giving me, human. He's perfectly like you when we first met: Rude." The sword told Shin.

Okay it talked. Without having a mouth.

"Now, now." Shin stroked the blade softly with his hand as if caressing it. "He's a good kid."

"Stop whatever you are doing right now, or I will be forced to kill you." Shin stopped soothing the blade.

"Anyway, Mori here is my buddy, as you can see. He doesn't like people except me so--"

"--I don't like you as well, human." the sword cut him off.

"Savage." Frey tried not to giggle.

"Harsh." Shin forced a dry laugh. "Anyway, Mori here has better memory than I have. He was the weapon I was using when I had an encounter with the owner of your armblade. Isn't that right, Mori?"

"It is. It's the same weapon." Mori confirmed. "Though I do not know how that can be; I was the one to destroy that weapon. I've cut it to a million pieces, after its Player had died."

"You see, when a Player dies, his Player Weapon becomes the property of the Player who killed him. I have killed thirteen Players. Twelve of their weapons I buried. They're thirteen feet underneath the soil we're stepping on right now, in a large chest only I can open." Shin glanced at the ground and tapped his foot. "The one remaining, I destroyed."

Shin was onto something, Frey was sure. And he didn't like where things were going. He looked at his armblade, on the green-speckled blue gem sitting on its steel. "And that one you destroyed, you believe it's this weapon?"

"Right." Shin nodded.

"But why? Why did you destroy it, instead of burying it with the other twelve weapons?"

Shin bit his lip, head bowed down. The only time he'd seen Shin like this, was when he talked about his life on Earth.

"Foolish human." Mori interjected. "You would have done the same, if you knew what that thing on your arm can do.

"No, I am sure you will, once it goes out of your control."

In an unfamiliar world full of monsters, demons, deities and secrets buried for the better, a game is being played. 160 "Players", each one a soul of someone who died on Earth, will kill each other for a second chance at life. 

They all deserve to win. They all deserve to live again. But only one will win and Frey Alcott, the 47th Player, does not plan on staying dead for long.
