Changying and Junjie knew each other since she was seven and he was eight. They were living in the same block but the Wu's move to a new area. After she was bullied when she was eight, her parents had her to homeschool. Meanwhile her brother didn't get homeschool.

Her brother had a normal life. She also had a depression but it wasn't severe. She wanted to have friends which are real not imaginary. Her parents felt devastated when they saw Changying's depression getting horrible. After  she sat an online school exam, she was accepted to go to public highschool.She is a transfer student. She enrolled in the school in the mid semester.

She was happy.She had the same school as her brother, Junjie and Bolin.Now let the story begin...

The first day of highschool, was great for her.
Zhongqing walked with her to her classroom."Brother, it's fine. I can take care of myself  now"

Zhongqing nodded and rubbed her head. He went to his class with a heavy heart. He was scared his sister was being bullied.Then he corrected himself."No way she could be bullied.She can speak more than one language.So she could thrash them easier.Then, she have the biggest gang leader in the school as her brother."Zhongqing mumbled himself.

"Come in, Miss Wu." Chen Chunhua.(Yes I googled it). Changying knocked on the door before she entered." Since she is new here please guide her. Miss Wu, you can introduce yourself."Changying nodded.

"My name is Wu Changying.I was homeschooled ever since.I can speak more than one language. My hobby is reading."Changying said then she bowed to her class. The male classmates seem to like her.<(￣︶￣)>typical love story. Ik ik!

After a few classes, it was lunch.Ella and Abigail went to Changying's table.

Ella asked Changying" Do you want to sit with us?". Changying shooked her head and write something on a paper."It's fine but can you lead me to class 4-A?"

"Why do you want to go there? Do you have a secret lover there?"Abigail said. Changying shooked her and write something again" I need to meet someone"

The twins nodded and lead her to class 4-A. They waited a metres away from the class.The class was famous of Zhongqing's gang. They had so much trouble since they enrolled here. Although they are gangster, but they manage to stay in class A. They were quite suspicious. The teachers also was wondering how did they score that easily every year

Changying knocked the door while holding a lunch box."Brother?"Changying said.Her voice sounded sweet and angelic. The senior in the class was shocked to see someone calling their classmates Brother." Is she here? Lil sis!"Zhongqing shouted while running towards her."Brother, mother told me to give you this."Changying added.The twins were extremely shocked too.

Zhongqing rubbed her head"Nah I don't eat them. You eat them. Did anyone bullied you yet?I can't wait to beat them up!"Zhongqing said to her

Changying started to mumbled "Je vais m'en plaindre à maman!".She complain in another language if she got mad."Non, non." Zhongqing said.He sighed and took the lunch box from her hands. He carefully placed her head in his chest."Take care of yourself, okay.No boyfriends. I know your beautiful and nice and all.But you still my sister."He whispered to her.

Changying nodded and let go his arms.She waves at him.Then, she went to her class.Ella and Abigail were shocked. They were the only who knew about their relationship except Zhongqing's classmates. Then, they have English class.

Mr. Bojing , whom their English teacher is quite a bit of enthusiastic." So I heard your class got a new student, stand up and introduce yourself!" He said with excitement.

Changying stood up and introduce herself. They started the class and ended it early today.

Her first day was great and all." Okay, class. Let's call it a day!"Mr.Bojing said. The students packed their stuff. After all the students left the classroom, Ella and Abigail decided to wait for Changying to pack.

After Changying packed her stuffs, she went to the main gate."It's okay, you guys can go back first. I'll be fine." Changying advised them

Ella and Abigail went home leaving Changying alone at the gate. Changying was waiting for her brother while reading a book.

Out of the blue, Zhongqing took her book."Pourquoi as-tu fait ça pour!"Changying said. Zhongqing laughed at her mad face."You look so cute when your mad.  So what happen at school today?"Zhongqing asked her.

Meaning: Pourquoi as-tu fait ça pour. It's like why did you do that for.

"Well I met this handsome guy and he's really sweet!" Changying said slyly. Zhongqing lifted one of his eyebrows."Didn't I told you, no boyfriends?"Zhongqing asked her again.

"I didn't finish yet. It's my awesome brother!"Changying shouted softly. Zhongqing nodded with agreement.

They went home....

The Book of Genesis opens the Hebrew Bible with the story of creation. God, a spirit hovering over an empty, watery void, creates the world by speaking into the darkness and calling into being light, sky, land, vegetation, and living creatures over the course of six days.

Shadow Winds Compound, Main Headquarters.

Lu Zihao and his subordinates worked tirelessly in the last few months to obtain more resources and manpower. They already destroyed quite a number of small to medium gangs. For now, they hadn't touch any of the biggest triads in the country yet. 

Those powerful triads, however, were already cautious and guarded against the Shadow Winds. The group's rise to power was too rapid and yet stable that it was alarming. The Shadow Winds were disturbing the power balance in the country's underworld. And many weren't happy with it. Some of these triads even reached out to the Shadow Winds, wanting to acquire and swallow it within their own respective organizations as a subordinate division. Of course, Lu Zihao declined.

Apart from his most trusted subordinates, nobody else knew Lu Zihao's identity as the grandson of the business legend, Sir Lu Jianhong. He was only known as Mr. Z. 

He also started wearing a mask even when inside the Shadow Winds headquarters as a precaution to the new members of the group. Although he was fairly confident that the original members of his group were loyal to him and wouldn't betray him, the same couldn't be said to the new members.

After an exponential growth in the number of members, Lu Zihao recently slowed down recruitment. He wanted to focus on training these new members, while at the same time to weed out those whose loyalty he wasn't sure of.

Aside from their exploits in the underworld, they also targeted publicly "upright" businesses and organizations but were actually running illicit activities behind closed doors. As a result, Shadow Winds had now acquired several legitimate businesses they used as cover for their own activities. These businesses also served as major and sustainable streams of income to the group.

Lu Zihao also ordered several small branches to be established in different parts of the country and even in selected countries abroad. The teams he sent to build these branches were small in number. A team ranged from only two to six members each. This was to avoid arousing the suspicion of both the authorities and the local criminal groups.

Overall, the Shadow Winds had grown quite powerful. And standing behind this rising power was its leader, the mysterious Mr. Z.

Inside the control room, Lu Zihao played with his black blank mask with his hands. The subordinates present were among the original members. They were fiercely loyal to him and knew his real identity. They were also only the ones allowed to refer to him as "Boss Hao". The new members had to call him "Master Z" instead.

"Boss Hao, regarding the person you instructed us to monitor, we are sorry and ashamed to say that we have lost track of him once again. He's a very slippery guy. It also doesn't help that he has various powers that are assisting in hiding him and covering his tracks," the leader of the hacker team reported. "However, we are able to discover signs that he has contacted several international publishers, mostly in the U.S. and the U.K., using his other identity Edward Coben, the one who is an American investigative journalist."

Lu Zihao stopped playing with the mask. His eyes narrowed. 

"This might be an indication that the biography is nearing completion or maybe it's already finished. We are not sure," the hacker leader said.

His subordinates didn't visibly cower anymore when Lu Zihao released a murderous aura. Their intense training helped a lot in hardening their bodies, minds and wills into sharp blades of steel. Nevertheless, their hearts still trembled inside at their leader.

"Get me a copy of that f*cking biography," he ordered.

"We'll do our best, Boss Hao." The hacker leader hesitated before saying, "But we can't guarantee that we'll succeed. We already tried many times to obtain a copy or even just some parts of the biography but to no avail. That man is very careful. We suspect that it's either he's writing the book by hand or he's using a separate device to write it that isn't connected to the internet. My hacker team is helpless in these cases. That is unless we send a team to where he's at—wherever he is—and snatch the biography directly from him."

Lu Zihao stood up and started pacing back and forth in the control room. He moved like a restless and bloodthirsty panther. Silent and dangerous. 

"What else?" he asked in a tone that exerted a very heavy pressure upon his subordinates.

"There is also the possibility that he's using a highly-advanced concealment or encryption software that prevents us from accessing his data, specifically his files regarding the biography. If this is the case, we still have a chance. We just have to dig harder and deeper."

"Do that, then."

"It is just unfortunate that our skill level as a team is still not enough to increase our success rate in obtaining more information about the biography. It is highly likely that either he or the major powers assisting him hired some hackers to help conceal him. We are only able to obtain traces of him before he disappears again." The hacker leader took a few deep breaths, looking nervous while wanting to say something.

"Spit it out."

"I…Boss Hao, we already suggested this before but…uh…"

Realization flashed in Lu Zihao's eyes. Then he scowled. "No. I already said before that we will not involve Drakon in any of this business."

The hacker leader already expected his boss' decision, but he still wanted to try persuading him to change his mind. "Boss Hao, I think you should reconsider your decision. Boss Drakon is the only top-tier hacker that we know of who's the most likely to willingly help us because of your connection to her. All of us in the hacker team are confident that she could gather everything you need more quickly."

Lu Zihao glared at his subordinate, making the guy lower his eyes to the floor. 

"Boss Hao! We got a hit!" an excited voice interrupted them. It was a female hacker who barged inside the control room carrying a tablet. She panted as he handed the tablet to Lu Zihao. Then she explained, "We found traces of our target in South America."

"South America?" Lu Zihao frowned as he studied the information displayed on the tablet. The information was incomplete but his eyes widened when he realized something. He instructed, "Continue monitoring him. Do everything you can to get me a copy of the biography. And also…"

The hacker leader and the female hacker paid attention.

"Look into the latest activities of the Alcatraz Organización." Hatred boiled within Lu Zihao when he mentioned this group which was one of the biggest archenemies of the Vetrovs in the past.

The female hacker gasped aloud. "Boss Hao! Don't you think it's still too early for us to mess with such a gigantic organization? We haven't even dared to cause trouble with the biggest triads in the country, and now we're going after the most powerful organization in Latin America? Isn't that too much?"

All of the subordinates inside the control room paled.

"Shush! What are you doing? I already told you to control your mouth when in front of the boss," the hacker leader reprimanded her. Then he turned to Lu Zihao and bowed, forcing the female hacker to bow as well. "Boss Hao, please forgive her this once! She's still young and doesn't yet know what's good for her!"

Lu Zihao nodded but made sure to give the female hacker a warning look. Although he didn't really mind what she said, he needed to instill discipline to all of his subordinates or things within the Shadow Winds might spiral out of his control.

"Sorry, Boss Hao," she mumbled, trembling.

After instructing his subordinates on what to do next, Lu Zihao dismissed everyone. They went to do the tasks assigned to them. As for him, he wore his mask and headed to his room.

He wasn't really sure whether the Alcatraz Organización had something to do with the man writing the biography about the Vetrovs. It was possible that the Alcatrazes might have something to do with the Vetrov's downfall and annihilation. Everything was still a conjecture on his part, though.

Lu Zihao wanted to know the truth. It was an obsession. The progress of his hacker team was too slow that he was starting to run out of patience. There was also a sense of urgency, especially now that the biography might be published soon.

He fished his phone from his pocket. He tapped on it a few times but suddenly stopped when he realized what he was doing. His thumb hovered over Iris' phone number. 

'No. It's better not to involve her in this dangerous business. She's living a great life now. I should let her enjoy a life of peace and happiness,' he told himself.

A sense of loneliness bubbled within him. He sighed and tried to shake it off.

'She chose her path and I chose mine. Better keep it that way.'

Baiyi placed some of the pots on the windowsill and Mia's desk and hung up the rests on the wall, adding some warmth and colors to the simple room.
When he was watering the little flowers, he suddenly heard sobbing sounds behind him. Curious, he turned back to have a look and he could see that Mia's big eyes were red and tears were dripping down her cheeks and chin. Drop by drop, they dripped onto the hammerhead shark plushie.
"What's wrong?" Baiyi quickly asked.
"Boo hoo...I-It's the Paladin... Sniff... The e-e-ending was just so s-sad... Sniff" Mia said, choking on her tears.
Sigh! This is exactly why I didn't want you to read it! In the end, that guy ignited all of his holy Chi Prowess and blew himself up annihilating several thousands devils in order to protect the town behind him that housed several hundred thousands of innocent civilians. Until the very last moment, he remained faithful and steadfast to his faith and never betrayed his vow. He was indeed a hero through and through.
Fortunately, wait a minute, or should it be unfortunately, due to the sudden increase of his innate capability during the self-explosion, he somehow accidentally violated The Law, which resulted in his soul being sent to the Void.But, would you just look at him now? How has he fallen to such a point? Baiyi sighed inwardly but a question came to his mind suddenly. Wait a minute! Yes, it's true that the part where he died was quite touching but it's not to the extend where she needs to cry like this right?
"Boo hooo hooo... H-H-He did not even receive Miss Garcia's confession yet! Sniff... They haven't fulfilled their promise of getting married to each other at their hometown yet too! A-A-And that cruel torture by the Devil at the very end... Sniff..." Mia mumbled to herself again, recalling the story.
Huh? Wait a minute? Who is this Miss Garcia? And what's with that nauseating promise? Quickly, Baiyi searched for the Paladin to verify the story.

Tsk, tsk, tsk! It appears like this is somebody's method to trick a woman, eh?
"Wait a minute! Master Hope! It's perfectly normal for a bard take creative liberties when writing person's biography! It's not for the sake of... Urghhh - !" Before the Bard could finish his sentence, Baiyi had already cast a Silence Spell on him.
Damn this history fabricator! This punishment is still too light for somebody like you who falsifies stories! Baiyi could not stop cursing at the Bard in the Void while comforting Mia in the other realm. In the end, he was forced to use his Mana to grab the hammerhead shark doll and just like a puppeteer, he played with it, creating an illusion that the shark was 'alive' and helped her wipe off the tears on her face at the same time. Only then he could finally coaxed her to stop crying.
While he was doing this, there was also another person in the Void who kept pestering him to re-cast the hidden spell in the hammerhead shark doll so that he could snuggle up to Mia at night. But... of course, Baiyi dismissed that idea as well.
After Mia had finally calmed down, Baiyi decided to not expose the lies hidden in the book but instead, he used the story to pique her interest, "Mia, do you plan to become a person like the Holy Paladin in the future? A strong, brave and kind person like him before he sacrificed himself?"
The reason why he put special emphasis on the word 'before he sacrificed himself' was because that guy right now was a total weirdo! The him 'now' must be distinguished from the him 'then'! You absolutely cannot become like how the Paladin is right now!
Mia thought for a little while before nodding her head hard. By nature, she possessed a kind and warm heart, which was also why she resonated a lot with the Paladin's story and cried herself a river.
"That's great, Mia!" Baiyi sat beside her and stroked her head. Using a gentle but serious tone, he continued, "I like your kindness, but at the same time, I also hope you understand that you'll need a great deal of strength and power in order to guard and fulfil this goodness in you."
Mia nodded her head again in silence. Just like this, a psychological seed to encourage her pursuit of power was quietly planted in her heart.

On the first page were the contents. It wasn't a surprise to Emily that the match between Emily and Cyril was also mentioned – at the top. As Emily read through the contents, they mostly consisted of sports, games, academics etc. But, then, she read three contents regarding Ivy! THREE!

The first one titled, "Ivy makes it to the cover of GCA magazine", the second one, "Ivy's secret to her amazing fashion sense" and the third one named, "Most popular girl: Ivy and her biography."

Biography!? Who would want to read her dumb biography? She's just a student, not a celebrity! What's wrong with the college? Has it lost it screws or what?

Linda saw that Emily's hand were trembling as the clenched the magazine harder and harder. "Hey! At least let me read it before you tear it apart!" She muttered and snatched the magazine. Emily sighed and calmed herself down.

Ugh, why am I losing my mind over a student? Emily thought.

The good thing was within the contents, there was nothing against Emily. Well, who knows within it what would be there, but for now Emily could relax.

Linda was busy reading it and Emily just sat in front of her in the canteen and staring at her. "Can you read it later?" Emily pleaded. "Ok… two minutes." Linda replied nonchalantly. 

Aiden just grabbed his tray of food and decided to join the two of them in the corner. He plonked beside Emily, "Hey! What's up?" Emily smiled and pointed towards Linda. "Oooh! The magazine, I almost forgot about it. What's in there this time?" He asked.

Emily lazily shrugged, "I don't care actually. Anyways, where are your friends?" Aiden laughed, "I don't have sidekicks beside me like Ivy, and I just hang out with everyone. Today, everyone is busy with the magazine, so I decided I'd come and pay you a visit."

Aiden and Emily talked until the break was over and they all went to their classes. As Emily turned towards Linda, she noticed her serious expression. "Everything alright?" She asked. Linda pouted, "Uhmmm… I dunno. This magazine is almost about Ivy!" Emily shrugged lazily, "Who cares?"

When everyone was taking their books for the next period, the speaker blared forth, "Attention everyone!" Each and every one stopped what they were doing and concentrated on the speakers, which continued, "As per decision of the principal of GCA, every student is required to participate in the upcoming autumn sports meet. Furthermore, no one will be allowed to stay after the working hours for practice. Thank you."

Almost every one frowned upon hearing those words. The girls were upset about participating while the boys were unhappy by the order of not being able to practice. Now will they practice in their breaks or eat lunch?

All of them returned to continue the classes. The day ended and they all headed home.

Emily really needed to practice hard if she wants to become a successful player, but given the current situation, it seemed impossible. An idea flew through her mind as her eyes lit up. She can run and jump anywhere, around the park, home, college. She had a cycle in the garage, so another game solved. As for archery and shooting, she will use her father's gun and will buy a bow, arrows and a target.

She slapped her thigh in excitement. But, the money for buying the archery equipment? It's going to be expensive, right? Well, she will end up using her entire savings then.

Finally, making up her mind, she broke open her clay money box with a hammer. It was filled with coins and money to the brim. No idea for how long she had been saving. As far as her memory goes, she was saving it for studying abroad, three years ago. 

Time really changes a person and her interests were totally flipped 180 degrees.

She counted her crumbled money. Five hundred dollars. Not bad, she thought. But if she wanted a top notch bow and arrows, then, she might need twice as much. She had no idea of the prices and just imagined the prices to be around five hundred dollars.

She turned on her laptop and searched for all sorts of bows and arrows. To her surprise, there was such a huge variety that was beyond her imagination. Even the price range was so enormous that she had no idea what to do! Which was between 50$ to 1,000$... how was she supposed to know what is the optimum range, quality and company.

Her brain was a mess. Wait a minute… there was one person she knew who could help her!

Emily has an incredible adventure ahead of her in which she faces the difficulties of being a student and sports fanatic.

Being above average in many aspects, she gains not only many admirers but also many enemies, who are envious of her talents and are intent on dragging her down at all costs. But she has her best friends who she can rely on and to help her in difficult situations.

In her determination to become the best athlete, she has to make many risky decisions and leave her home city, San Francisco, she goes to live with her 'not-so-close' aunt in Los Angeles. Emily not only misses her family and friends, but her time spent with her aunt isn't all that joyful and easy as she gives her a hard time. 

Things get messy, there are ups and downs, as managing to multi task is difficult, keeping up with sports, studies and handling the drama in life, physically and mentally exhausts her.

With the courage of a meerkat, I stick my head into the room. I'm fully at the ready to take flight if the situation deems it necessary. So eyes wide open and gaze sharp I scan the room for any potential threat. For my efforts, I spotted the reason for my tingling senses. It was a young woman. She seemed very tomboyish. Those squinted eyes, mischievous grin, oval face with a sharp chin and light brown hair tied back into a simple ponytail. Shocked I felt like I was looking at a childish version of Danmachis' Loki. Wearing a pair of loose-fitting shorts that gets to her knees and a short-sleeved close-fitted shirt that covers most of her stomach leaving a gap between her shirt and shorts. Sporting a pair of training shoes and short socks. Fist on her hips and slightly opened eyes I found her eyes to be emerald green. From the look, she was giving me I'm quite sure they were judging eyes. "How's it going whiskers?"  Allowing her eyes to return to their natural squint. She put out her hand in greeting. Shaking myself out of my thoughts I went forward to return the greeting.
"Hello! The names Luke, by the way." I said shaking her hand. For her slim figure, she has a rather firm grip. It seems she uses her hands a lot. 
"Nice to meetcha Luke, the names' Kestrel. I'm currently 15 this year and still in my growing years. I was born with a duel elemental affinity for wood and fire. A natural-born alchemist and a talented one at that. Both of them are at minor advanced stage and I reach the peak beginner stage in alchemy. If you need medicine you can come to find me at any time. For now, I'll be the one helping you gain wood element affinity. I'll tell you an open secret. It's best if you only train at max 2 affinities. I've been training mine for almost 12 years and I only just made it to advanced a few months ago. If I focused on one I would be at least peak advanced by now." Kestrel Introduced herself and her life though I didn't ask. If she was a guy I would have deemed him a squinty-eyed bastard. 
"Thank you for your advice. Also, what's the difference between naturally born affinities and later acquired affinities?" I couldn't help but ask.
"Well for one unlike you transfers, naturally born affinities can be trained from a young age. We also can't get a new affinity till adulthood cause our bodies can't handle extra affinities than the ones we're born with. I for one could begin my alchemy training after getting my affinities to minor Intermediate. This took me 4 years to train both from minor to Intermediate. If I focused on one it would have taken less time but I needed both of them to keep about equal. I don't need to waste the later stages of my life training my affinities, unlike you transfers." She explained 
"What do you mean you transfers?" This question earned me a pair of arched eyebrows and a slightly open pair of eyes. I'm not liking the way she looking at me.
She stared for a few moments making me feel uncomfortable. Like she was looking at a small animal trying to look menacing. Then she spoke."Your not serious are you? I mean, do you think that a couple of 100 thousand people appearing in the middle of the town but raised no alarm is normal?" Well if she puts it that way it was indeed not normal. The fact that the people were smiling and greeting us made it seem like they were expecting us. "We already knew that you people were coming. A lot of people signed up to transfer from this world to yours once the war starts and a lot of people decided to stay. I for one want to stay cause I heard your world has no true essence and no monsters. All my training to be an alchemist will go to waste if I transfer. Also because of your stupid question for now on I'm be calling you whiskers. Now whiskers if you don't have any more questions let's get started. We wasted a bit of time and I'm not getting paid extra. Let's get this over with." 
She motioned for me to sit in front of her and close my eyes. Placing her soft warm hand on my head I began to feel a cozy warmth spreading throughout my body. "Now focus on the place when my hand is and try to get a feel of it. As we go on I will slowly increase the amount of elemental output. If I just start from the max it would just overwhelm your senses. Just relax and focus." she said softly but to be honest I've already lost my self in the feeling. I feel like I was floating through a beautiful forest trees were everywhere, the different flower smells and small animals chattering. Sunlight flowing through the tree leaves and I could hear the trickle of water in the distance. As I got to the center of the forest the surroundings got more and more vibrant then suddenly...

Though if you can do it without the skill training the affinity gets more proficiency when you make progress but it's very slow."
Hearing this I hesitate on whether to take the skill. "Can skills be removed to free up slots?" Asking the question on my mind.
She nodded"They can but it takes money to do so. Just a basic skill takes 100 gold to remove not to mention the more advanced skills. An advanced-level skill can take upwards to 1000 to 5 thousand gold to remove depending on the level." Instinctively I tap no then yes on the screen.

I noticed that I had some small increase in endurance and my innate ability increased. I wonder why? Thinking for a bit I began to check my body. Lifting my shirt I realized that some old scars have disappeared. Leaving only flawless skin behind. Seeing my innate ability working already give me pleasant feelings. I heard a cough and realized I just showed my body off to a girl. Feeling the all to familiar shame creeping onto my face I quickly lower my shirt and check to see if she was impressed. She didn't seem any different, then I noticed that the tips of her ears were a slight shade of red. 'So she has those types of blushes. It makes her look cute for squinty-eyed bas..ahem! I mean a young growing lady.' I thought to myself deciding to open my mouth to explain in case of a misunderstanding." I sorry I was checking my status and notice my innate ability had increased in proficiency. I was just checking the cause."
"If you don't mind me asking what's your innate? Mine is the enchanted mind by the way." She declared proudly.
"It is fine. My innate is body regeneration." I stated not really caring if she knew.
"Body regeneration? Why would you pick that? I heard transfers can pick their own innate. I heard some guy going on about gaining telekinesis. Some girls were gathered in groups talking about how they could increase their three sizes." Kestrel pretty much spat that last statement out. It seems she has a complex. When I Instinctively move my eyes to check her figure again I earned an opened eyed glare. 
Focusing myself I began to explain. "Well it's simple, I want to be able to use chakra. Since I have water affinity as an innate I wanted to gain wood affinity to complement it. I received the biography of Theodore Matthews when I was transferring and learned from his experiences. So I wanted to follow his steps and achieve chakra control." I told my plan to her since if I succeed it won't really be a secret.
Kestrels' eyes when the widest I've seen so far. She manages to defy the laws of the squinty eyes and opened them halfway."WHAT!! You have the biography of saint Theodor!? AND you want to follow in his footsteps!? Are you crazy!? Also, can I have his biography!? I'll pay for it! No, if you hand it over to the guild they will pay you 100 times more for his research and the kingdom will pay even more. Ah no if anyone knows you have his biography you will be captured and grilled for information. They might even soul search you just to get what they want." Kestrel began to pace back and forth in front of me muttering incoherently. After hearing what she said I realized how serious my situation was. I remember that him giving the warriors the ability to be completely on par with mages had earned him not only respect for his achievements but greed for his research to. although it was just a biography on chakra and not his complete research, it was still enough for people to convert the information to further their studies on chakra, which was claimed to be a lesser true essence. Suddenly Kestrel grabbed my shoulders with both hands and pushed her face really close to mine. Since there wasn't much difference in height our noses were almost touching and a slight lean forward and our lips would be touching. 
"Whiskers! No I mean Luke! Since you told me already we're already lumped into this together. Since even if I sold you out to someone for money they might kidnap me to since I might have information on it too and to stop it from spreading. So how about this! You tell me about the biography and your plans and I'll help you tweak the details for a higher chance of success and give you discounts on medicine. How about it!?" She offered, but I get the feeling that she won't take 'no' for an answer. I could only nod my head. Letting me go and moving her face away from mine, she started checking the time and seeing as our session has passed already she fixed herself up returning to her squinty-eyed self. 
Nodding to herself she returned her attention to me and said "Good our time is out and I have to go get my commission. After I finish work I want you to meet me outside the guild. I should be finished by sundown. You don't have a place to stay yet right?" I shook my head. "Good!" 'Good!? why does it feel like she's happy I'm homeless?'  "I'll help arrange a place for you to get started, this partnership last until you die, so make sure you don't start without me!" She said while walking out of the training hall
'She's definitely cursing me.' I mutter under my breath following her out of the hall.
Following her to the receptionist's desk, she reports that her job was finished. Waving me goodbye she heads off to her next assignment. Once she was out of earshot the receptionist lady turned towards me and spoke with a knowing smile. " Ara Ara~ I didn't think you had the charm to gain the interest of our guilds little rose. You should be careful she likes to test the new medicine she makes on poor adventurers who upset her. She has put more people in the hospital then bringing them out." She said with a hand over her mouth and giggling. Hearing her my face paled. My flag senses were back into overdrive again. I couldn't help but ask.
"Is she someone important?"
The lady nodded with a smile."Her mother was this, branches' previous guild leader. Her father was a peak A-rank adventurer. He died 13 years ago in a monster riot sacrificing himself to kill a half step divine grade monster. Her mother resigned from the guild leader position and spent her time raising her. Because of her husbands' death, she grew depressed and ended up contracting a rare disease that needed many precious materials to heal. Since they couldn't be gathered she died 7 years ago. Leaving Kestrel to be raised by the current guild leader who treats her like his own daughter. Most people stay away from her not only cause of her medical experiments but also cause the guild leader is a bit of a block of wood." she said turning back to the desk to take the next person in line.
Hearing this I couldn't help feeling sad for her. Though I feel it's good she had someone to care for her during her time of need. Thinking this I wonder outside of the guild not paying attention to where I was going. Lost in thought I didn't notice I had wandered into a crowd of people and into the center of a circle of people. Hearing the sudden commotion I look up just in time hear a loud 'swoosh' followed by someone shouting at the top of his lungs "EXCALIBUR!!" Followed by the all too familiar bright as all hell light that was super effective against my eyes. If I didn't know any better I would swear my eyes were dark typed.

Just your average wannabe otaku. Read manga? I do! Watch anime? I do! Read xianxia, wuxia, all types of eastern fantasy? I do! So what am I gonna do when everyone on earth is transported to a place of magic, swords, science and all types of mystical things? Well, I don't know about others but I for one have a plan in mind.

My eyes flew open this time. Kestrel, seeing me open my eye stopped the flow of elemental powers. "Did you get the affinity?"
I nodded my head." I did and it also automatically went up to basic!" I said happily
"Ooh... that's good seems like you lucked out of a week or so of training. You should have gotten the manipulation skill to right? make sure you take it cause that's the easiest way to train you affinity. Some people don't cause it uses a slot but training with pure elements is harder then using the skill as a medium. Though if you can do it without the skill training the affinity gets more proficiency when you make progress but it's very slow."
Hearing this I a hesitate on whether to take the skill. "Can skills be removed to free up slots?" Asking the question on my mind.
She nodded"They can but it takes money to do so. Just a basic skill takes 100 gold to remove not to mention the more advanced skills. A advanced level skill can take upwards to 1000 to 5 thousand gold to remove depending on level." Instinctively I tap no then yes on the screen.

I noticed that I had some small increase in endurance and my innate ability increased. I wonder why? Thinking for a bit I began to check my body. Lifting my shirt I realized that some old scars have disappeared. Leaving only flawless skin behind. Seeing my innate ability working already give me pleasant feelings. I heard a cough and realized I just showed my body off to a girl. Feeling the all to familiar shame creeping onto my face I quickly lower my shirt and check to see if she was impressed. She didn't seem any different, then I noticed that the tips of her ears were a slight shade of red. 'So she has those types of blushes. It makes her look cute for a squinty eyed bas..ahem! I mean a young growing lady.' I thought to myself deciding to open my mouth to explain incase of a misunderstanding." I sorry I was checking my status and notice my innate ability had increased in proficiency. I was just checking the cause."
"If you don't mind me asking what's your innate? Mine is enchanted mind by the way." She declared proudly.
"Its fine. My innate is body regeneration." I stated not really caring if she knew.
"Body regeneration? Why would you pick that? I heard transfers can pick their own innate. I heard some guy going on about gaining telekinesis. Some girls were gathered in groups talking about how they could increase their three sizes." Kestrel pretty much spat that last statement out. It seems she has a complex. When I Instinctively move my eyes to check her figure again I earned a opened eyed glare. 
Focusing myself I began to explain. "Well it's simple, I want to be able to use chakra. Since I have water affinity as an innate I wanted to gain wood affinity to complement it. I received the biography of Theodore Matthews when I was transferring and learned from his experiences. So I wanted to follow his steps and achieve chakra control." I told my plan to her since if I succeed it won't really be a secret.
Kestrels' eyes when the widest I've seen so far. She manage to defy the laws of the squinty eyes and opened them half way."WHAT!! You have the biography of saint Theodor!? AND you want to follow in his foot steps!? Are you crazy!? Also can I have his biography!? I'll pay for it! No if you hand it over to the guild they will pay you 100 times more for his research and the kingdom will pay even more. Ah no if anyone knows you have his biography you will be captured and grilled for information. They might even soul search you just to get what they want." Kestrel began to pace back and forth in front of me muttering incoherently. After hearing what she said I realized how serious my situation was. I remember that him giving the warriors the ability to be completely on par with mages had earned him not only respect for his achievements but greed for his research to. although it was just a biography on chakra and not his complete research, it was still enough for people to convert the information to further their studies on chakra. Which was claimed to be a lesser true essence. Suddenly Kestrel grabbed my shoulders with both hand and pushed her face really close to mine. Since there wasn't much difference in height our noses were almost touching and a slight lean forward and our lips would be touching. 
"Whiskers! No I mean Luke! Since you told me already we're already lumped into this together. Since even if I sold you out to someone for money they might kidnap me to since I might have information on it too and to stop it from spreading. So how about this! You tell me about the biography and your plans and I'll help you tweak the details for a higher chance of success and give you discounts on medicine. How about it!?" She offered, but I get the feeling that she won't take 'no' for an answer. I could only nod my head. Letting me go and moving her face away from mine, she started checking the time and seeing as our session has past already she fixed herself up returning to her squinty eyed self. 
Nodding to her self she returned her attention to me and said "Good our time is out and I have to go get my commission. After I finish work I want you to meet me outside the guild. i should be finished by sun down. You don't have a place to stay yet right?" I shook my head. "Good!" 'Good!? why does it feel like she's happy I'm homeless?'  "I'll help arrange a place for you to get started, this partnership last until you die, so make sure you don't start without me!" She said while walking out of the training hall
'She's definitely cursing me.' I mutter under my breath following her out of the hall.
Following her to the receptionist desk she reports that her job was finished. Waving me goodbye she heads off to her next assignment. Once she was out of ear shot the receptionist lady turned towards me and spoke with a knowing smile. " Oh my~ I didn't think you had the charm to gain the interest of our guilds little rose. You should be careful she likes to test the new medicine she makes on poor adventurers who upset her. She has put more people in the hospital then bringing them out." She said with a hand over her mouth and giggling. Hearing her my face paled. My flag senses were back into overdrive again. I couldn't help but ask.
"Is she someone important?"
The lady nodded with a smile."Her mother was this branches previous guild leader. Her father was a peak A rank adventurer. He died 13 years ago in a monster riot sacrificing himself to kill a half step divine grade monster. Her mother resigned from the guild leader position and spent her time raising her. Because of her husbands' death she grew depressed and ended up contracting a rare disease that needed many precious material to heal. Since they couldn't be gathered she died 7 years ago. Leaving Kestrel to be raised by the current guild leader who treats her like his own daughter. Most people stay away from her not only cause of her medical experiments but also cause the guild leader is abit of a block of wood." she said turning back to the desk to take the next person in line.
Hearing this I couldn't help feeling sad for her. Though i feel it's good she had someone to care for her during her time of need. Thinking this I wonder outside of the guild not paying attention to where I was going. Lost in thought i didn't notice I had wondered into a crowd of people and into the center of a circle of people. Hearing the sudden commotion I look up just in time hear a loud 'swoosh' followed by someone shouting at the top of his lungs "EXCALIBUR!!" Followed by the all to familiar bright as all hell light that was super effective against my eyes. If I didn't know any better I would swear my eyes were dark typed.

A family inclined to kindness and charity would grace the descendants.
