"For the month of June, Dave and I want to visit these two colleges which will still be in session and their baseball team might even still be playing in the College World Series. That would be best case scenario. If not, we'll still be able to do tryouts with their teams." He flipped the page again. "July will be about the camps. We'll go to the same two as we always do, but I'm adding the Texas one. Dave doesn't want to."

All eyes went to Dave. He swallowed what was in his mouth before speaking up. "What? I already said I don't see the need to go."

"He rather go to this camp instead." Kyle pointed at his planner. It must have had all the information written down, because his parents were studying it closely. "Slightly cheaper which can balance out my more expensive camp. Then in August, we'll meet up for another college visit which is also an ID camp for notable prospects. Mid-August is the high school camp so we'll come back for that. The last couple of weeks will be spent here preparing for senior year."

Mr. and Mrs. Atkins didn't say anything right away. They looked over the planner, flipping back and forth between the pages. 
Mrs. Atkins was the first to sigh. "You wrote out a budget, and I'm happy about that, but you can obviously tell that you and Dave are going over your given amount for the summer. Even if we add extra for your college visits...this is a bit too much."

"I've thought about that." Kyle glanced at me and Noah. "Noah isn't going to be allowed on the travel team. So that should save a little more money."

"So you're dipping into my summer money?" Noah asked, bewildered. 
"Technically it's not yours. It's Mom's and Dad's." Kyle shot back. He beamed at his parents. "So what do you think?"

"I think it would be perfect if you sacrifice this Texas camp." Mr. Atkins tapped the book. "That's what making you go over the budget we had set. Do you really need this particular camp? You and Dave liked the other one last year."

"I need something different, Dad!" Kyle said, exasperated. 
He sounded desperate. I cleared my throat. "I don't really need summer camp money, do I?"

"You don't want to go to any baseball camps with Noah?" Mrs. Atkins asked. 
I glanced at Noah. "I...I actually don't want to leave. Or go anywhere too far."

Noah sighed. "I guess we'll stay home for the summer, Mom. Jake probably isn't ready for any sleepaway camp. But! We're definitely going to do the high school camp! Coach will definitely get mad at us if we don't go."

Kyle was excited. "See?! Consent! They can share a part of their budget money."

"I don't know." Mrs. Atkins hesitated. "Noah and Jake can't just stay home all summer."

"Why not?" Kyle asked. "Zeke will be here. He doesn't have to report to college until early September. He's practically a live-in babysitter. Which will allow you two to come to these colleges with us." 
"I don't mind." Zeke surprised the room by speaking up. He looked at me and Noah. "Stanford is having a summer camp for high schoolers if you guys want to do that. It's the last week of July."

"During my birthday..?" Noah didn't look excited about baseball for once. 
"What else would you do for your birthday?" Dave asked. "Your only friend right now is Jake."

"I have other friends." He pouted. He looked at me. "Do you want to go?"

"Will you be there?" I asked. 
Noah sighed. "Of course we'll go together!" He looked back at Zeke. "What kind of camp is this? Are we going to stay at the dorms in school? Will you be going too?"

"Yes, you'll have to stay in dorms, but I can tell Coach Leroy that you two need to be in the same room." Zeke gave a small smile. "I'll actually be one of the counselors. Some of the local guys on the team help the coaches run it. Counts as community service."

"How much is this going to cost?" Kyle asked. "Will I still be able to do my trips?"

Zeke lost his smile. "I can talk to Coach Leroy. Maybe get it discounted. Maybe free. Not sure yet."

"Can you call him today?"

"On a Sunday?" Zeke frowned. "You'll have to wait until tomorrow."

Kyle was about to object, but Mr. Atkins cut him off. "Okay then. So most of your summer is planned out. We can start booking the flights and paying for the other camps besides the Texas one." Kyle opened his mouth. "We're not saying no. Let Zeke speak to his new coach tomorrow."

Mrs. Atkins looked at me and Noah again. "Are you two sure you don't want to do anything else? There might be some local camps we can do."

Noah glanced at me before replying. "I think the Stanford camp is good enough for us for now. Maybe next year, we'll do more."

"You can't just laze around all summer." Mr. Atkins frowned. 
"We won't! We'll play baseball with Zeke. Go to The Cages. Maybe get some of the guys from the team to play too. We can do beach days! We can..." He trailed off, unable to name another summer activity. 
"Maybe we should sign you two up for some summer classes?" Mrs. Atkins suggested. 
"Nooo." Noah wailed. The twins started to laugh. "That's not fair. Dave and Kyle get to travel all over the country all summer while you want us to do extra schooling? The injustice!"

"It's just an idea." Mrs. Atkins laughed. "So far all you two have is a summer camp at the end of July and then your high school camp right before school starts. Your whole first month is empty. Either find something to do or I'll find something for you."

Noah pouted. 
I was fine with it though. I never liked breaks from school to begin with. Spring break was the first time I had any fun. Before....

I looked at Mrs. Atkins. "I don't mind taking a summer class."

The boys stopped their jeering and laughing. Mrs. Atkins was surprised, but still smiled. "Oh? Do you have anything in mind?"

I shrugged. "I'm good with whatever."

"Don't pick math!" The twins said simultaneously. 
Mrs. Atkins was thrown off by their yelling. "Why can't he take a math?"

"Because..." Kyle frowned. 
"He'll get too far ahead!" Dave exclaimed. "We won't be in the same class next year, and instead he'll have to try some college math at the local community college. It would really mess up everything."

"Yea...mess up their cheating..." Noah said under his breath. 
I held back a smile as I watched the twins try to convince Mrs. Atkins that no matter what, I shouldn't get too far ahead in math. Mr. Atkins got up and returned his chair to his spot while Zeke stood up from the table, done with brunch.

It was depressing to say goodbye to Matthew. We had all said goodbye to him as a group, but we couldn't have a farewell party because he had his grad party the night before with his family.


Instead, we had a group get together at a restaurant to say goodbye to him. Well, we all had burgers and milkshakes.


The saddest person other than me was surprisingly James. It seemed that in a way the two had become closer over the last couple months.


Matthew left that night.


His phone still worked, and he texted me from time to time over that summer vacation, but the texts became less and less frequent.


It seemed that he had settled into England pretty well, and he was loving the Oxford campus a lot. He had met new people, and had also started attending business meetings with his father.

Many hours and cups of coffee later, I found myself on the UCLA campus. It was gorgeous, and I was so happy to find myself finally there.


"Hello, UCLA," I murmured under my breath. "My name's Miyah, and I'm so ready for this year."


But... I missed James. I missed Matthew. I already missed my family...


It was going to be a long year...

It was too late now to turn back.


I parked my car in front of the administration building, and then entered the edifice. The lady at the front desk was kind enough to give me my schedule and help point out where the dorms were.


Then, I went to go find my dorm. When I got there, there was a girl there on one of the beds already. Her hair was red, and she had it up in a ponytail. Her eyes were brown, but a beautiful shade of the color. She glanced over at me, and then got up. "Ah! You must be one of my roommates!"


I nodded.


She stuck her hand out. "Hey, I'm Kyan Knights. Strange name, I know. Whatever. What's your name?"


I blinked once. It almost seemed as if she had chugged down an ounce of sugar and then five cups of coffee. "Nice to meet you," I said as I reached out my hand for a handshake. "The name's Miyah. Miyah Hatfield."


"It's a pleasure," she responded.


We let go of each others hands, and spent the time getting to know each other better.


We both liked the color blue, specifically turquoise. We both came from smaller towns in California, and had managed to get into our dream school.


"Oh. Also, I'm part of the softball team," she added.


"That's awesome!" I said.


Suddenly, the door was swung open, and two other girls entered. They froze when they saw us, but then smiled. "We're the other two roommates."


The one to the left was blonde, tall, and had curly hair. Naturally, her eyes were blue. In a way, they reminded me of James's eyes, since they were nearly the same shade of blue. Yet... James's was a bit warmer than her eyes were.


The one to the right had black hair that went down to her waist and bangs. She was much shorter than the girl to the left.


The girl to the right introduced herself first. "Hello. I'm Kloe Trujillo."


"I'm Ellenor Greenaway," the blonde one to the left said soon after.


After that, we all got to know each other better.


My first class was exciting, and I had it with Ellenor. I was very excited, and quite content that I was able to have my first class with someone that I knew. However, when we went to class, she immediately began to socialize, and I was left on my own.


She ditched me.


I let out a sigh, and set my gaze on a random seat. There was already someone sitting next to it. I neared the seat, and asked, "Can I sit here?"


The guy nodded.


"Thank you," I said as I sat down. After a pause, I decided that it would be best for me to introduce myself. "I'm Miyah."


"I'm Miles."


"Nice to meet you."


"Likewise."


The class was about creative writing. It was an elective course, but I had wanted to take one class that I would enjoy before taking more classes that would be more career related.


And it seemed as if the class was quite enjoyable. The first day we were allowed to write whatever came to our minds, and then we were dismissed. After getting the syllabus, of course.


Miles was an interesting guy. It seemed like he was going to major in computer sciences, but he also enjoyed writing, and thus decided to join the class.


He lived in LA, so he commuted from nearby, although I wasn't too sure what 'nearby' meant.


Once class ended, I had another class to attend, and I had this class with Kloe. She, unlike Ellenor, stayed by my side the whole entire class period. I got to know her a lot better, and decided I liked her.


I was not to keen about Ellenor, but I would tolerate her.


My first day at UCLA was great. And I was happy.

"We probably looked like a couple crazy in love. But, of course we would. We had concocted our pretend relationship perfectly, keeping the mask on until we could turn and hiss at each other in private once again. In an ironic way, the guy I hated the most was also the only person who knew the real me."




Miyah knew James since they were young. Yet, Miyah can't stand the guy...

Qiao Dongliang was nervous and excited just at the thought of it. He did not sleep a wink.
On the next morning, Qiao Dongliang received a call from Qiao Nan. He heard that Qiao Nan was doing fine in the army camp. The people there called her 'Teacher Xiao Qiao'. Qiao Dongliang was so happy that he was all smiles. 
After updating Qiao Dongliang on her situation at the army, Qiao Nan focused all her attention on preparing for her lessons.
There were only a few English lessons and the duration was short. Qiao Nan did not need to spend all of her summer break in the army camp. However, Qiao Nan still wanted to teach the soldiers as many of the frequently used daily conversations as possible within the stipulated time.
As a result, the lesson plans for the class were very crucial as it allowed her to control the rhythm, allocate the time reasonably, and set the learning pace.
She had finished filling up one notebook with the lesson plans.
Qiao Nan stayed in the dormitory for the whole day, working on the lesson plans.
After writing down most of the lesson plans, Qiao Nan stood up and stretched herself.
The female counselor came in and saw the scene. On one hand, she was appreciative of her effort. On the other hand, she shook her head at Qiao Nan's diligence. "You're so young but you are very conscientious. Those who do not know that you are preparing for the lessons may think that you are doing your summer homework. The book is full of your lesson plans. What's the hurry? You can take your time to do it."
"I don't have to participate in any training. I am here only for this sole purpose. Hence, I must make full use of my time to prepare for the lessons, lest I waste everyone's time. It's alright. I am almost done."
The female counselor stepped forward curiously and flipped through the book that was covered with handwritten notes. She was amazed at the handwriting that seemed as if it was being printed onto the book. "Teacher Xiao Qiao, your handwriting is very pretty. It looks exactly like the texts printed on my daughter's textbook. It is beautiful. Alright, since you have finished writing, you should relax and have dinner. Besides, you are so frail. Since you are here in the army camp, you can also take part in our training to train your stamina. After all, without a healthy body, you cannot sit for all the exams."
Qiao Nan waved her hand. "Forget it. My physical ability is worse than that of the new recruits. If I train with all of you, I will definitely not be able to keep up. By then, should the instructor discipline me or not? I will be a bad influence on the new recruits. It's better that I do not create trouble for all of you." Qiao Nan knew her own limits. She was not able to keep up with the tough training. 
"Counselor, you don't have to worry. I will get up early tomorrow morning to run. I won't join all of you for training, but I will do my own exercise."
"That's fine as well. Alright, let's hurry to have dinner." The female counselor pulled Qiao Nan to the canteen in the army. If they were too late, there might not be any food left. 
After the female counselor and Qiao Nan left, a person sneaked into Qiao Nan's room. The person looked around Qiao Nan's desk and found the lesson plans that Qiao Nan had prepared.
The content in the book was what the person was looking for. The person hid the book inside the clothes and rushed back to the dormitory at the fastest speed. 
"Have you got the book?" Qiu Chenxi paced around in the dormitory for a long time. She was biting her nails anxiously when she heard footsteps nearing. She turned quickly to the sound. 
"You can rest assured that I will do the task well." Qian Yanyan patted her chest. "Look, what is this?"
Qiu Chenxi quickly grabbed the notebook from Qian Yanyan and flipped it open. "It is indeed what I am looking for." She could not underestimate Qiao Nan. Since Lin Yuankang took her in as his disciple, she must have had her abilities as well. She did not get to this stage purely with her luck. 
She was different from Qiao Nan. Qiao Nan was still in school, while she was used to these lesson plans.
But she had graduated for more than a year, and she did not major in teaching. Hence, she was unfamiliar with preparing lesson plans.
Qiu Chenxi had already made a promise in front of the political commissar and had to teach English tonight. She could not take back the words that she said. But it was only when she started working on the lesson plans did she realize that it was not easy to prepare for a lesson. 
"I didn't expect that Qiao Nan will be so serious." She would only be teaching for a short period of time, yet Qiao Nan wrote very detailed lesson plans. Who was she trying to show off to? She was too pretentious!
However, Qiao Nan's pretentious behavior had been a great help to her. 
"Qiu Chenxi, take a quick look. Did she write down the lesson plan for the class that you're going to teach today?" Qian Yanyan looked at the notes curiously. It was all written in English. She could barely understand them.
"Her lesson plans do not go according to a fixed schedule or timetable. It is very flexible." Qiu Chenxi flipped through the notes page by page and had finished reading through all of the lesson plans. 
"What do you mean? So, can it be used or not?" If the lesson plans could not be used, she would have wasted her effort. 
"Of course it can be used." Qiu Chenxi shot Qian Yanyan a disdainful look. She had made it simple and easy to understand, but Qian Yanyan still could not understand her. "I mean, she has a certain flow in each lesson. I only need to make slight changes. No matter which lesson I use, after adjusting the sequence, the lessons will be more coherent."


Qiao Nan: Crap! I am your biological daughter, yet I am treated as if I was picked up from the streets. In fact, you treat me worse than that!

Mother Qiao: Qiao Nan, you are not as pretty or smart as your elder sister. You are not as blessed as her. You have no right to study, marry, or to have your happiness!

Qiao Nan stares at the well-built man in front of her. He has firm abs and cold, chilling eyes. She swallows the lump in her throat as she says her greetings, "Good Morning, Chief!"

Guys I will post the chapters on Sunday, because I am finishing writing about the arc of the summer training camp, I intend to launch a minimum of 8 chapters.
Maybe more, I'm not sure yet.


Now a question.
I'm already close to the end of this fan-fic, honestly I already planned how things are going to happen, and it should end in chapter 110 or 115.
so there will only be one more Arch in addition to the Summer Training Arch.


And I plan to make Izuku go to another world, I have already planned how it will happen, however New World, new adventures.
And just to clarify, Izuku Midoriya is in BNHA, his name will change, and it will be another novel, The Most Powerfull QUirkless is a story of its own and I will not change that.

Now there is a question.
Which Izuku world goes next:
There are exactly 5 worlds he can go to, which one do I send him to first?
Remembering that I don't want to write a story, where it simply follows the plot.

The only thing that mine has in common with the original world shown to us, is the basis of it.
Just like I did with BNHA.

Remembering that he can be a darker protagonist, depending on which world he is sent to, so choose wisely.

After a few minutes, he let Koala stand and said, "I have one interesting magic i want to use"

Stella asked,"What kind of magic is that?"

Xin said, "Watch."

The Xin come to a vacant space and use the magic that he want to try"

Garp, Luffy, and the girls stand in distance then they see a huge violet mist come from Xin's hand then a house pop out in tin air.

Seeing a white summer house he create feel that this magic was very useful.

Garp and other jaw drop in the ground when they see that Xin can make a house in tin air.

Garp run and instantly caught his arm said, "Xin kid what kind of magic is that?"

Xin smile and said, "Arc of Embodiment a Caster-Type Ancient Spell and Lost Magic utilizing imagination"

Garp gulp and said," Meaning?"

Xin answer him that make everyone scared stiff, "It was a magic that can create anything within the user imagination:

Garp's heart pounding rapidly, this kind of magic is to overpower if he can create anything that he imagines.

Then Xin create table chairs and all kinds of furniture, after that he make a garden filled with fruits and vegetables.

Xin thought about creating a training ground.

He creates a training field with adjustable gravity function, punching machine, giant treadmill.

Then he creates a shooting field for Koala and Stella, he makes sure to use the most durable metal for the target so that they can't destroy it.

After creating a training field, Xin thought to create a challenge tower.

The first trial the dodge and flexibility of the players.

Second was the pressure room.

Third speed test

Fourth was power

Fifth combat experience need to defeat golem inside.

And the last sixth was the boss room.

After he was done with the training facility Xin create a big plant pot and plant the Ham and Egg Grass Plant and Meat Tree.

Seeing all the things that Xin create Garp feel that he creating a training camp for the girls.

Garp cant help to ask, "Xin kid why did you create a training camp? are you planning to train here?"

Xin shake his head, "No I need to do something in a far place and I can't take the girls"

Garp stare at him and said, "Is that place is dangerous?"

Xin nod

Garp sigh and said, "Ok you can leave them here I will try to train them, but you need to come back safe"

Xin smile and nod.

While Luffy and others trying the training facility, Xin and Stella come to the summer house and start to cook.

While Stella helping Xin to cook, She feel something not right so he ask him, "Young Master Xin is there something wrong?"

While cutting ingredient Xin ask, "Why?"

Stella lowered her head continue to wash the vegetables, "It's because when you create the training facility I feel that you're going to leave us here"

"You even create all that we need"

Xin pause then continue his doing, "Yes I'm going to leave for a month or two and I can't bring you and Koala because  it was dangerous"

Stella's body quiver then she continue to help Xin to cook.

After eating dinner all of them come to there own room to sleep.

In Xin room, Xin was writing some training regiment for the girls before he left.

Suddenly he heard someone knock on the door.

Xin confused, then he comes to the door and open he was surprised, Koala and Stella were standing in front of his door.

Seeing that both of them bring their pillow.

Xin ask, "What are two you doing here?"

Stella smiled and said, "Young Master we can't sleep that's why we come here"

Koala nervous nod.

Xin looked at them speechless but he let them come and he change the bed to a bigger one so that they can fit together.

Then Xin continue what he's doing.

Stella asks, "Young Master'' What are you doing?"

Xin said while writing, "I'm making training regimen for both of you"

Stella become sad, "Can you just bring the two of us with you?"

Xin said, "I can't, the place I'm going is dangerous"

Then Stella did not continue to ask Xin she just hug Koala.

A few minutes later Xin has done writing and he was about to sleep he notices that Stella and Koala part away and the middle of the bed becomes empty.

Xin's wiry smile then goes to the middle of them and lay down.

Seeing Xin already lying Stella and Koala hug him.

Stella whisper," Young Master if both of us become strong in the future can you bring us next time you going in far place?"

Xin smiled and said, "Yes if you can learn how to protect yourself maybe next time i can bring both of you"

Koala looked at him, and her eyes turned red, "M-Master i will try to become powerful so that you can stop worry on us"

Then she buries her head in Xin's left chest.

Xin patted her head and said, "In future, you can come at me but first you need to have the ability to protect yourself.

Koala gentle nod.

Then the three of them sleep while hugging each other.

Almost dawn when Xin awake he see that both of them sleeping peacefully, so he carefully move out in the bed so that he can't wake up both of them.

After that, he goes to the bathroom to wash then come to the kitchen and make breakfast.

A few minutes later Garp come down, see Xin cooking.

Then he ask for coffee, Xin make coffee for him and continue making breakfast.

Garp ask, "Are you going to leave?"

Xin answers, "Yes ~ it was hard to leave if both of them see me off"

Garp nod he know that saying goodbye to each other was hard much more for kids.

After Xin down, he gave the training regiment that he wrote to Garp.

Xin sign and said, "Grandpa Garp I'm going to now ~ see you in two months"

Garp nodded and said, "Take care of yourself always mind that your loved ones are waiting for you to come back home"

Xin nod and then he take Kinton Cloud and left

Garp sign and said, "Are you girls don't want to say goodbye to him?"

Stella, Makino, and Koala come down they all awake and know that Xin was going to leave to go somewhere.

Koala was crying while Stella hugging her and said, "It's fine we know that Young Master will come back safe"

Makino feel sad, Xin did not tell her that he was going to leave she only know it when she eavesdrop on Garp and Xin's conversation.

Then Stella and Koala come in front of Garp and bow," Vice-Admiral Garp please help us to become strong so that we can become a burden to him"

Seeing this Garp feel happy for Xin he found a find partner.

I opened my eyes from a dreamless slumber, as the sun behind me from my window woke me up. I can feel my back getting a little wet with sweat. It is summer, so the sun is warm. My eyelashes against my hair is making my eyes irritated, and some of it even went between my lips. 

I saw the room as it was lit up by the invading sunlight, papers and bottles scattered throughout the place that I never cared to clean them, because of how scarce my time is. My posters of Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Bridge to Terabithia lined up on the walls. Even though I am Japanese, I read a lot of untranslated English books. Because you can sum up my life as a life full of books. I've read hundreds of books since I was a child.

I sat up on my bed and thought about this day as another day.

Another day in this body. 

A paper thin body. 

Thin enough to be satisfied by bits of food. 

Food not from my chosen profession.

But from a part-time job.

I faced at the mirror and looked at my body. It is very thin indeed. I am not at least concerned on how I look, for it doesn't matter for me. How I look doesn't affect my writing. My vision is blurry, because I needed glasses to see, but it is fine. I am still inside my familiar home. I don't need to see to find things, but memory of where I put them as they are. 

I went to the bathroom to brush my teeth. I put just enough to toothpaste on the toothbrush so that it could last me for a few more days. It was minty and fresh. I looked at the mirror on the sink. Damn, I look horrible. 

After I finished with it, I always comb my hair before I went to shower, because mom said that the hair is weak when wet. Combing the hair after a bath will destroy it. I always kept doing it that way, and I should tell you that my hair is the only thing that's been taken care of in this apartment. We had this family tradition of taking a good care of the hair. She even sends me shampoos and hair products to keep my hair healthy. 

I went to have a shower. It is very refreshing, and I didn't need to worry about the water being cold, for it is summer. God bless summer. I stayed there for a while after I finished putting shampoo and stuff. I don't know why, but the splashing sounds, and the flowing water on my skin makes me feel relaxed. After that, I used other hair products for my hair.

I changed into my strap and shorts so that I could get started writing a new light novel story.

I wonder if something changes. 

A change that will change my life. 

A life of repeating a day like this. 

That makes me feel like I am trapped in an endless loop of time. 

I want something to change. 

I went to the fridge to get some apple. One is enough to fill my stomach for a day. I know it's unhealthy kind of diet, but I have no choice, because I have a rent to worry about. Thinking of that, I need to work on my new story now, so I pulled a piece of A4 paper from inside the drawer of my desk, and put on my glasses. 

I am really particular about the time, so I always check it whenever I get the chance. In that way, I can be more productive. I looked at my phone, and it is 10:36 am of July 20, 2019, so I got no time to waste. I started writing. 

I don't have galleries of my friends, but only a gallery of rejected manuscripts in the shelf beside me at the right. These manuscripts were rejected only because the publisher said that I don't understand the feelings of my characters so it makes the story unnatural. 

I don't have many friends since I was a child. All I ever had was my books. Most of the time, I would sit on a bench under a tree, and away from the other kids so that I could read my book in peace. I even doubt that my classmates even remember me. 

I am amazed by the world the writers create with their imagination, and how they stir up the emotions of the readers, even if they are just written characters on a piece of paper. It inspired me to write my own story to share the wonders of fiction. 

My mother realized this, and she believed in me without a second thought. She believed that I could become a great writer someday, and that I could do great things. She gave me a big book on my 8th birthday. Tokugawa Ieyasu - the longest Japanese novel ever written in one book. I loved it, and that was the day that I decided to make her proud.

My mother and me were left by my father after he passed away when I was only two years old. I only heard stories about him from my mother, and she told every story like he never died. I know it was hard for her to raise me alone, but she didn't give up to stop my uncle interfering with my life. She said that my uncle who is her older brother is now the head of the family that owns a great area of rice fields. Arranged marriages were a thing in her family. It's even a reason why she escaped from them and lived with my father, in Chiba. She's afraid that I will not be free to choose who I loved if I stayed there with uncle. 

I am finished with my new story, and I see that it is already 3:10 pm. It is time to take this manuscript to the publishing company. I changed into my "going out" clothes - which is simply a summer sweater and a loose jeans. I don't like showing my skin, because it is embarrassing, even if it is summer. 

I went out with my manuscript inside my cheap, brown handbag. Then there were three women at the balcony of the open corridors of the apartment. They were looking at the view of Tokyo from the this floor. They are at the far right, but I could tell what they are whispering about. I acted like I didn't hear. 

"Here comes the cave woman," one of them whispered while I locked my door. They laughed softly. This happens every morning that I got used to it eventually. I don't bother to confront them as much as I hate it, unless they touch me. 

I went to climb down the stairs, because I feel uncomfortable taking the elevator with other people. I am living in the 8th floor of this building, so it's quite tiresome when going up. 

On the train station, that is a ten minute walk from my apartment, I went through one of the gates with my IC card. Then I fell in line behind the people who are waiting for the next train. 

I am passing this manuscript to a publishing company where all of my friends work (two of them, to be exact).

A train arrived and we entered, and a lot of people went out of the cabs. After that, we entered and luckily, I found an empty seat at the left side of the train, just near the door. 

I spent my time reading a light novel I bought yesterday. After a couple of minutes, I finally arrived at the train station I am getting off. Now, it is just a twenty minute walk to the publishing company. 

I saw the building, where it was based. It is averagely beautiful like the rest of the buildings here in Tokyo. I went to the entrance, and there was a guard walking around the area it is located. 

"Good afternoon, Matsuno-san!" I greeted him, while bowing. He is one of my friends in this building. I always have to pass by him everyday I went here. He is a man near the retiring age, but he was kind and always radiant because of his smile, as much as he loves his job very much. 

"Oh," he smiled at me. "Good afternoon to you too, Hattori-chan." 

I stopped for a minute for a chat. It wouldn't hurt if only just for a minute. "How's your daughter doing in school?" I asked. 

"She's doing great. And how about you? Did you finish another story?"

"Yes, I am about to hand it over."

"Good," he smiled. "Good luck, and do your best! May your work be published."

I bowed down once more and said, "Thank you, I'll do my best."

I went inside, and to the elevator. I don't like it, but I have to, so I could pass my work in schedule. My other friend is Takeda that I've known since high school. He works here as a copy editor. I always hand my manuscripts to him so he could make the leading editor check it out. I always crossed my fingers, wishing that this time I will get published. I crossed my fingers a hundred times, but none of my stories were published. I feel heavy inside everytime I do this. I would've given up a long time ago, but that's not me. I don't break a promise. 

The door of the elevator opened and I did the proper etiquette in elevators. I felt relieved after I went out. It was really uncomfortable for me even if I do it everyday.

A man standing up while reading a piece of paper in his office. The whole office was full of papers and books of different kinds. There are many notes posted on the walls, and the computer is still running. The man looked serious about his work, and shows his dedication for it. He adjusts his glasses everytime it slips while reading. 

"Takeda-kun," said someone from the other side of his small office. Takeda is the name of the man holding a paper, and he stopped what he's doing. "Hattori-chan is looking for you." He pulled a munscript from the shelf. "How long are you gonna keep her waiting?" Suddenly, he put up a smile, and went to the door. 

"Right, right," he said. 

"Waiting for you to ask her out?" said the man and laughed. 

"Oh, just shut up."

He opened it and saw Hattori brushing her hair over her left ear while looking to the side. She was startled that her glasses slipped, so she fixed it and put up a smile. while looking at Takeda. 

Takeda thought: "So cute..."

"Good afternoon, Takeda-kun," she said. "May I give my manuscript?"

He smiled and said, "Ah, of course."

"I hope I am not interrupting anything," she said while leaning to see what's going on inside. 

Takeda takes the manuscript. "Don't be like that, Hattori-chan. We've been friends for a long time. I will never hesitate to help you."

"Oh, uhh... Thank you so much, Takeda-kun."

"Don't mention it."

"Hey, TAKEDA!" said an angry woman who seems to be the boss. "No slacking off!"

He looked nervous as he answered while turning his whole body back to the office. "Yes, I'm sorry. I'll get back to work as soon as possible, Miyashita-sensei!"

"Stop being so noisy, Takeda-kun!" said a random officemate.

"I'm sorry!"

He hands her over a different manuscript while smiling nervously. He closes the door slowly and said, "I'll see you later, bye..."

"I'm sorry," she whispered. 

"Okay."

Finally, the door closed.

I really got him into a trouble. I feel guilty about it.

I looked at the manuscript he gave me.

"Welcome to the collection," I said to the it.

I don't know why I keep storing them, but I felt bad when thinking of throwing them away.

"Still not giving up," I said to myself, while crossing my fingers. 

I went home after that, and it is already dusk when I came back, because I took some time to think about another story by walking slowly. I entered my apartment, and I saw my cat. I didn't see him this morning, because he goes out sometimes through the window at the kitchen. I specifically chose this apartment so that I could keep him. Meet Akihiko, my beloved cat. He rubbed his head against my foot. I carried him up like a baby - because that's what he wants. 

He is a cat that I just found in the streets years ago, when I was still studying in college. major in creative writing. I love cats, but my mother didn't let me have one, so I decided that I will have a cat as soon as I start living alone. I thought about what kind of breed I will get, but then I saw him. He was just a little kitten back then. He was so thin and dirty, and when I took him home, I washed and fed him. His beautiful grey fur showed. 

I lied down my bed after changing my clothes, and looked up to the ceiling, while Akihiko slept on the bed. I thought about my lacking. My characters don't decide like real human beings. That's because I isolated myself from other people so I didn't have the chance to observe their actual behavior. I kind of regret that. I wish I knew earlier that writing isn't just learning from books. I have to do something about it. 

But it is time for work. 

I stood up and I realized I am shedding a tear. I didn't yawn or anything, but I definitely felt disappointed. I wiped it and went to change into my working clothes.
