THE SITUATION RIGHT NOW: I've gotten over the majority of my laziness. I'm unlikely to update this much. It's pretty much complete. The novel I'm working on is Dark Seas Leading Demise

After a wonderful summer vacation, it was finally time to go to college for the first time. I had spent the whole entire summer packing, and deciding what things should stay behind as well as the things I should give away.


It was depressing to say goodbye to Matthew. We had all said goodbye to him as a group, but we couldn't have a farewell party because he had his grad party the night before with his family.


Instead, we had a group get together at a restaurant to say goodbye to him. Well, we all had burgers and milkshakes.


The saddest person other than me was surprisingly James. It seemed that in a way the two had become closer over the last couple months.


Matthew left that night.


His phone still worked, and he texted me from time to time over that summer vacation, but the texts became less and less frequent.


It seemed that he had settled into England pretty well, and he was loving the Oxford campus a lot. He had met new people, and had also started attending business meetings with his father.


He seemed to be happy.


Meanwhile, I was enjoying my summer by going to the beach and hanging out with friends as well with family. I was enjoying every last minute of it. It was quite a relaxing summer, perfect for before the first year of college.


However, then I found myself ready to go to UCLA.


My bags were packed, and in the car. My family was gathered, and a few of my friends. And... James was there too, speaking with some of my relatives.


I gave a hug to each person there, and then got into my car to drive off. James also decided to leave the same time that I did. And so, we began our drives to college.


Many hours and cups of coffee later, I found myself on the UCLA campus. It was gorgeous, and I was so happy to find myself finally there.


"Hello, UCLA," I murmured under my breath. "My name's Miyah, and I'm so ready for this year."


But... I missed James. I missed Matthew. I already missed my family...


It was going to be a long year...


I bit my bottom lip.


It was too late now to turn back.


I parked my car in front of the administration building, and then entered the edifice. The lady at the front desk was kind enough to give me my schedule and help point out where the dorms were.


Then, I went to go find my dorm. When I got there, there was a girl there on one of the beds already. Her hair was red, and she had it up in a ponytail. Her eyes were brown, but a beautiful shade of the color. She glanced over at me, and then got up. "Ah! You must be one of my roommates!"


I nodded.


She stuck her hand out. "Hey, I'm Kyan Knights. Strange name, I know. Whatever. What's your name?"


I blinked once. It almost seemed as if she had chugged down an ounce of sugar and then five cups of coffee. "Nice to meet you," I said as I reached out my hand for a handshake. "The name's Miyah. Miyah Hatfield."


"It's a pleasure," she responded.


We let go of each others hands, and spent the time getting to know each other better.


We both liked the color blue, specifically turquoise. We both came from smaller towns in California, and had managed to get into our dream school.


"Oh. Also, I'm part of the softball team," she added.


"That's awesome!" I said.


Suddenly, the door was swung open, and two other girls entered. They froze when they saw us, but then smiled. "We're the other two roommates."


The one to the left was blonde, tall, and had curly hair. Naturally, her eyes were blue. In a way, they reminded me of James's eyes, since they were nearly the same shade of blue. Yet... James's was a bit warmer than her eyes were.


The one to the right had black hair that went down to her waist and bangs. She was much shorter than the girl to the left.


The girl to the right introduced herself first. "Hello. I'm Kloe Trujillo."


"I'm Ellenor Greenaway," the blonde one to the left said soon after.


After that, we all got to know each other better.


My first class was exciting, and I had it with Ellenor. I was very excited, and quite content that I was able to have my first class with someone that I knew. However, when we went to class, she immediately began to socialize, and I was left on my own.


She ditched me.


I let out a sigh, and set my gaze on a random seat. There was already someone sitting next to it. I neared the seat, and asked, "Can I sit here?"


The guy nodded.


"Thank you," I said as I sat down. After a pause, I decided that it would be best for me to introduce myself. "I'm Miyah."


"I'm Miles."


"Nice to meet you."


"Likewise."


The class was about creative writing. It was an elective course, but I had wanted to take one class that I would enjoy before taking more classes that would be more career related.


And it seemed as if the class was quite enjoyable. The first day we were allowed to write whatever came to our minds, and then we were dismissed. After getting the syllabus, of course.


Miles was an interesting guy. It seemed like he was going to major in computer sciences, but he also enjoyed writing, and thus decided to join the class.


He lived in LA, so he commuted from nearby, although I wasn't too sure what 'nearby' meant.


Once class ended, I had another class to attend, and I had this class with Kloe. She, unlike Ellenor, stayed by my side the whole entire class period. I got to know her a lot better, and decided I liked her.


I was not to keen about Ellenor, but I would tolerate her.


My first day at UCLA was great. And I was happy.

"We probably looked like a couple crazy in love. But, of course we would. We had concocted our pretend relationship perfectly, keeping the mask on until we could turn and hiss at each other in private once again. In an ironic way, the guy I hated the most was also the only person who knew the real me."




Miyah knew James since they were young. Yet, Miyah can't stand the guy...

One day, as James gets surrounded by friends and girls that are interested in him, he suddenly announces that he and Miyah are dating. 

Miyah decides to play along. However, she's always had feelings for her old best friend from elementary, whom she sees once again. 


James has always liked Miyah. For some reason, she's always hated him. James decides to show Miyah that he's different than what she thinks and so he forces her to pretend to date him and to finally see him for the person he is.

"Why, oh why, do you torment me so?" Complained Jadelere as he poured himself his third glass of wine in the last hour. The crease in his frown had become far more pronounced than when Jack had first met him. "What have I ever done to you?"

"You're still saying that?" Asked Jack whilst his blue eyes flashed with feigned innocence. "Need I remind you the first words you taught me?"

"Divines save me from this purgatory… How long will I have to suffer because of that one mistake?"

"Until my anger subsides." Replied Jack as he casually glanced at the chess set placed neatly between them and the pieces neatly arranged on it and where it was apparent at a single glance that one side was overwhelming the other. However, it wasn't Jack on the losing side. "Or until you can beat me."

"I've long given up on that." Mumbled Jadelere as he sighed heavily. "What I want to know is when are you going to stop challenging me to these games? Do you have any idea how humiliating it is for me to always lose to a three-year-old child?!"

"Not really, no. I've never lost."

"That's exactly my point!" Jadelere banged the armrest of his seat in anger. "You. Have. Never. Lost." He began tapping his fingers nervously. "Never. That's not normal! It's completely abnormal! You're a fucking monster!"

"This again?" Sighed Jack. "I'm no more of a monster than you."

"No, you're a damn monster. A terrible creature from the depths of the Abyss that's come to torment me." He said as he let his head drop in solace. "To call you an intellectual prodigy is an insult to you, and an insult to the word prodigy. You're a genius beyond recognition; and yet you insist on never ever showing that to anyone but me! That's what makes you a monster!"

This all went back to a few months earlier. Ichabod had insisted on Jadelere taking charge of Jack's lessons. At first, it was planned that Jack would learn basic mathematics as well as reading and writing. Jadelere was to see to it that his education would be successful.

However, no one would have expected the speed at which Jack learned. Just like Jadelere had said, to call him a prodigy was tantamount to insulting Jack. He devoured knowledge as if it were breathing; and his mathematical and logical prowess was staggering to the extreme. After a few short months, Jadelere had decided to teach Jack how to play chess in the hopes of humbling the boy as it had become apparent fairly quickly that the boy found profound studying a pleasure, and not the least bit challenging.

The plan backfired on Jadelere and he was immediately crushed under Jack's superb skills. No matter how many games they played, the end result was always the boy's victory; no matter what strategy Jadelere had planned, Jack always responded with creative and dumbfounding ways to exploit even the tiniest of weaknesses. Jadelere gave up on ever beating jack after twelve consecutive losses. The boy, however, loved the game and insisted on playing it every day.

But that wasn't what filled Jadelere with desperation. What he truly found maddening, was the fact that in front of Ichabod and everyone else, he only showed a fraction of his intelligence; even failing to answer some simple problems that Jadelere knew full well that Jack could solve with his eyes closed and an arm tied behind his back!

In fact, Jadelere had been quick to praise Jack to high heavens and insisted to Ichabod that he was a genius seen only once every hundred thousand years. However, all evidence pointed to the fact that he was a slightly more capable child. No one actually believed Jadelere even after all this time.

This made him want to cry but have no tears to do so.

"Let me put it in terms that even you could understand" Said Jack whilst casually glancing at his fingers and touching their tips against each other in a manner that reminded Jadelere of his own teacher; which greatly irritated him.

"Could you not say things like that?" Mumbled Jadelere again.

"Firstly," Continued Jack whilst ignoring him. "what do you think would be the result of Ichabod having an intellectual prodigy as a foster son? Hmm? The answer is that, in the best-case scenario, I'd be ostracised from Groamburkian society; they'd never be able to accept me. The worst case would be me being assassinated by Ichabod's opponents, just like a chess piece that needed getting rid of."

"You have a point." Pensively commented Jadelere. "What else?"

"Secondly, there's a good chance that I would be conscripted into the service of a government office. That would be terrible as it would put me in harm's way; there's nothing more dangerous than being actively and publicly involved in politics from a young age."

"Arguably, it would be a good thing as you could grow in those kinds of environments."

"Uncle Jadelere, we both know that wouldn't be the case; don't insult my intelligence by suggesting otherwise."

"Quite right." Sighed Jadelere. Ever since he began teaching Jack, Jadelere felt that he had sighed more than ever before. "But it still surprised me that a three-year-old child would have such a firm grasp on things. Who are you really?"

"And that's the third reason. Who am I really? Am I really just a child?" Asked Jack rhetorically. "Would you believe me if I told you I wasn't?"

"Strangely, I would." Seriously responded Jadelere. In fact, he had been asking himself that very same question for the last few months, but he simply couldn't fathom the existence that was Jack. "And, strangely, I wouldn't."

"That makes no sense."

"Aye, it doesn't, but neither do you."

"Touché." Agreed Jack. "But I'll answer that question of yours if you answer mine first."

"Alright, I'll bite." Nodded Jadelere after a moment of thought. A part of him wanted to confirm whether this child was truly something beyond a normal boy or not. "Pray tell, what do you want to know?"

"Where do babies come from?"

"Go choke on an echidna, Abyss spawn!" Jadelere cursed almost without helping himself. Almost. "Enough with the crap, it's time to go back to our history lesson." Jadelere wanted to change the topic before Jack could derail it even further and so he brought the subject matter back to the history of their world. Although Jack wasn't supposed to learn history until much later on, it didn't make sense to keep it out of the syllabus . "Do you remember what I taught you yesterday?"

"Of course I do."

"Fucking smart-aleck, enlighten me." Cursed Jadelere, knowing full well that the boy could probably repeat yesterday's lesson verbatim; but he still wanted to put up a front and act the part of a diligent teacher and move as far away from the topic of childbirth as humanly possible. The notion of Jack not being a normal boy was very far away from his mind.

This was, certainly, Jack's intention. A simple exercise of mental manipulation to divert Jadelere from the conversation. A successful one, at that. However, Jack understood that this was only temporary and that he would have to devise a more permanent solution to this particular predicament. However, for the time being, he had decided that having at least one person aware of his capabilities would allow him to access better quality information than the originally designed syllabus, which was why he'd chosen Jadelere; partly out of coincidence, and partly given the man's intellectual capacity.

"It is now the seventh day of the second month in the year 1472 since the establishment of the Alacian empire which dominates the continent; which is further divided into twenty kingdoms which owe their allegiance to the emperor. We live in Groamburk, which is located in the easternmost corner of the Alacian continent and is found in the Tamborian kingdom. Also, it's ranked as the lowest in all twenty. It was founded 160 years ago alongside the kingdom of Else after the Inuca kingdom split into two."

"Very good. What else?"

"The Alacian empire was founded after the first emperor, Alacianus the First, waged war across the continent and united all the countries under his banner. This has come to be known as the Glorious Unification according to the history books, but it's more accurately described as the hundred-year war; which was filled with atrocities and other genocidal acts performed by Alacianus the First, like the slaughter of the desert nomads to the North and the complete destruction of the Inuca kingdom…"

"Alright, yes, I can see you remember." Interrupted Jadelere. "But you would do well to not repeat those last few things to certain people. The history of the empire is a dark one, indeed, but they don't want anyone publicising it, especially not children."

"I understand, uncle Jadelere." How could he not? It was precisely the dark history of the countries on Earth that had caused his demise all those years ago.

"It's good as long as you understand." Nodded Jadelere, misinterpreting Jack's pensive expression as rumination instead of nostalgia. "Today we'll talk about the Church of Divines."

"Okay!"

"The Church of Divines predates the Alacian empire by, at the very least, two thousand years. Although no one really knows who founded it or under what circumstances, it's a fact that it's the predominant religion in the Alacian continent. In fact, its influence reaches far beyond our borders and some even say that it comes from another continent altogether. What we do know, however, is that their creed lies on the worship of the Twelve Divines, each one representing a single Star, as well as a concept."

"A concept?" Interrupted Jack. "In what way?"

"A good question, and one not often asked." Nodded Jadelere. "Concepts, according to the Church of Divines, are facts of the cosmos attributed to the Divines. Let me explain by describing the Divines themselves so that you understand: 

"There is Naosh, the champion of balance and order, she reigns as the supreme of the pantheon. Darius, the enforcer of justice, his sword shines upon the righteous and vanquishes evildoers. Arteus, seeker of knowledge and enlightenment, lord of wisdom and logic. Zenios, overseer of trade and commerce, champion of the free market and investment. Tonius, Divine of construction and machines, innovation and practical development. Stelios, master of mercy, piousness, and righteous rule by might and merciful forbearance. Ragnar, lord of peace and conflict resolution, statehood, and lawfulness. Daiana, mistress of love, passion, compassion, motherhood, and marriage. Qiyana, lady of the elements and natural order, enforcer of the laws of nature and the natural state of affairs. Varuth, lord of the hunt and the food chain. Hecaria, she who guides the souls of the departed onto their path towards the afterlife; whether that is to the depths of the Abyss or the cycle of reincarnation, only the Divines themselves know. Sectario, Divine of healing, he fights disease and pestilence all over the cosmos. And, finally, Fucalt, the patron of merriment and celebration; where there is joy and wonder, his presence can be felt.

"Do you understand now what the Church means with the word 'concept'?"

"I think I do." Answered Jack after a moment of pondering. "The Divines represent aspects of life, aspects that everyone is met with almost every day. From these concepts, the Church is almost omnipotent in the way it can dictate people how to live each and every day. They're involved in everything, from teaching to trade, to warfare and peace agreements, and governance. It is truly a beneficial state of affairs."

"That is correct."

"But there's more." Added Jack before Jadelere could say anything else.

"Oh?"

"By giving it the name of 'concept', rather than terming it what it is, in other words, an aspect or facet of life, they grant their theology an added element of tangibility. As 'concepts', the divines become irrefutable elements of our every-day lives. In the technical sense, it's effectively constructing a reality using the right words."

"You're absolutely right. Absolutely right!" Exclaimed Jadelere as he vividly pointed at Jack with his finger, almost spilling the contents of his fourth cup of wine all over the chess table. "By using the right words, they have changed the global perception of the Divines' existence into a palpable entity that influences the very structure of our society."

"But why would they do that?" Asked Jack, playing up his naivete once more.

"Why wouldn't they? Like this, they have power, wealth, and influence. It's almost perfect." Happily explained Jadelere, having finally found something he knew that Jack didn't. "You see, the Church has an incredibly complex hierarchy that can be found in all corners of the Empire. Even Groamburk itself isn't exempt of this, much to the dislike of many, such as myself, that don't believe in the Divines. However, we don't publicise our atheism too vocally given the consequences of incurring the Church's wrath."

For the next two hours, Jadelere spent his time diligently explaining the power structure of the Church and how it was intricately interlinked with the administration from the empire, so much so that the Church could easily influence the political matters of the kingdom of Tambor, and even the empire, at every level. Nothing ever got done without the implicit agreement of the representatives of the Church.

All of that was of great interest to Jack, who could only suspect that the Alacian empire had been established with the Church acting as its backer. If that was the case, then the influence that the Church of Divines held was gargantuan.

However, he didn't speak of these ponderings to Jadelere as he knew that some things were best left unsaid.

Betrayed and murdered, he spent an eternity battling in the armies of the Abyss until he was given a new chance on life.

"I am backward in my thinking! Why did you not set an example for me? In short, if you uses the Ding's family old rules and thinking on Nan Nan, I will not let you off!"
With that, Qiao Dongliang got up from bed, took his pillow and blanket and went to sleep in the study room. He did not wish to share a bed with Ding Jiayi any more.
He did not care how the Ding family treated people, but he would not allow his daughter to be treated like that!
"You… you, where are you going?" Ding Jiayi was dumbfounded. Old Qiao refused to share a bed with her just because of that wretched girl?
On the next day, Qiao Dongliang was just his usual self; but Ding Jiayi's eyes were puffy red and swollen. She had obviously been crying.
Qiao Nan started school at an earlier time than Qiao Zijin. She went out early in the morning, taking the deep-fried dough sticks that Qiao Dongliang bought along with her. She carried her bag and drank her soybean milk, making a stop at Zhai's house to get her books before heading off to school.
Looking at the unfamiliar faces of her classmates whom she could not recall, Qiao Nan started to feel anxious. She could not even remember where she sat in the classroom.
She finally found her classroom by checking the class plates outside. She stood dumbfounded at the doorway.
"Qiao Nan, why are you standing by the door, go in now." Her class teacher, Teacher Chen saw Qiao Nan and smiled brightly.
Qiao Nan always ranked top three in her level and ranked first in her class. Every teacher loved a good student like her.
With Teacher Chen's prompting, Qiao Nan braced herself and went into the classroom. 
Qiao Nan could no longer remember her classmates, but she still remembered Teacher Chen.
In this country, everyone had to go through nine years of compulsory education. In her previous life, Teacher Chen paid a lot of visits to her house when she stopped going to secondary three. 
Every time Teacher Chen visited their house, her father would urge her to go back to school, but her mother would kick up a fuss. She was frustrated by all this and ended up doing a lot of stupid stuff, breaking Teacher Chen's heart.
Looking at her junior high class teacher, Teacher Chen, she felt a twinge of guilt.
Upon entering the classroom, Qiao Nan had no idea where she used to sit. At this moment, Teacher Chen said, "Qiao Nan, you had better sit in your usual place."
Teacher Chen pointed towards the second row of the second group, at the seat to the right. 
That seat was the nearest to the blackboard and the teacher. 
This was undoubtedly the seat that teachers reserved for good students.
Qiao Nan let out a breath and with her bag behind her, walked towards the seat that Teacher Chen said. She put away her bag at the desk.
When she was finally settled down, the rest of the classmates also streamed in gradually. Teacher Chen assigned seats to everyone but the good seat besides Qiao Nan still remained vacant.
"The summer break was over. Let's have a test. Everyone put away your books, do not leave anything unnecessary on the table. Hurry up."
At Teacher Chen's words, everyone started to complain.
There was a saying that goes: Examinations were a teacher's weapon while grades were a student's lifeline.
Qiao Nan turned as white as a sheet upon hearing Teacher Chen's words.
Nobody knew the worry, dread and guilt a top student like her was feeling at this moment.
She had only spent a few days revising the junior high syllabus and she had to sit a test now. There was no way that she could get a good result and match up to her usual standard.
Qiao Nan started to break out in a cold sweat.
Teacher Chen was a Mathematics teacher, so he must be testing them on their Maths.
She took a few deep breaths, gripped her pen and started writing.
Qiao Nan had a systematic way of tackling the test. In order not to run out of time, she started answering the questions one by one. If she was stuck for five minutes, she would skip and move on.
When she finished answering the questions she knew and had checked through once, she then went back to the questions that she skipped.
It was a good thing that she could answer most of the questions. But in the past, she could start solving the problems as soon as she gets the papers without stopping for a moment to think.
Now, she had to think through the solutions and she was not as good as before in her mental and manual calculations.
After finishing the paper, Qiao Nan was drenched in sweat, with her clothes plastered to her back.
Qiao Nan only had time to check through once before the alarm went off. Teacher Chen then started to collect the papers.
When class was over, Qiao Nan headed for the washroom to wash her face.
The Maths test was finally over, but there must be other tests for the rest of the main subjects.
On the first day of school, Qiao Nan was kept busy taking tests for the three main subjects Mathematics, Chinese and English. Her head was spinning from the tests.
Qiao Nan did not feel well after the tests; she barely made it back home.
"Oh, you are back so early today?" Ding Jiayi saw Qiao Nan and pulled a long face, her eyes full of mockery. "Your Dad is not back yet!" 
Didn't the wretched girl always come back at the same time as Old Qiao?
Pierced by Ding Jiayi's mocking voice, Qiao Nan came back to her senses. She felt the heavy weight of her books on her back. Without a word, she ran inside the house like a rabbit, sped past Ding Jiayi and went into her room, sliding the bolt in place.
"Mom." Qiao Zijin saw that Ding Jiayi was about to follow after and stopped her. "Dad is still furious. We can't help that Nan Nan is not sensible. But you definitely do not want to keep on quarreling with Dad."
Father was the sole breadwinner in the house. If mother fell out with father and he refused to give his pay to her, what was going to happen to her? 
"Since Nan Nan is not going to work to lighten Dad and your load this year, Mom, you should stop quarreling with Dad and making yourself unhappy."
"You are right. Your Dad and I have been together for so many years, we have never had such a fierce quarrel before. It's not worth it to fall out with your Dad for this wretched girl." Ding Jiayi calmed down and said, "You mentioned that secondary three syllabus is much more difficult, and not as easy as before, right? Let's wait and see her results this year. She had made a promise with your Dad. If she fails to score well, she would have to work no matter what!" 
She finally managed to calm Ding Jiayi down. Actually Qiao Zijin did not tell Ding Jiayi that secondary three syllabus might be difficult for her; but she had no idea if it was easy or difficult for Qiao Nan.
Qiao Zijin could not help but pray that just like her and the other female classmates in class, Qiao Nan would find the secondary three syllabus difficult, and in particularly would fail terribly at Maths and Chemistry.
"Nan Nan, it's Dad." Qiao Dongliang reached home one hour later and went to look for Qiao Nan. 
"Dad." Qiao Nan opened the door to let Qiao Dongliang in.
Qiao Dongliang knitted his eyebrows, "Nan Nan, your room is this small?"


Qiao Nan: Crap! I am your biological daughter, yet I am treated as if I was picked up from the streets. In fact, you treat me worse than that!

Mother Qiao: Qiao Nan, you are not as pretty or smart as your elder sister. You are not as blessed as her. You have no right to study, marry, or to have your happiness!

Qiao Nan: Why am I not allowed to study, marry, or to seek my happiness? I will find a man right now and marry him!

Qiao Nan is dumbstruck upon discovering that the man right beside her is a powerful figure in the quad—the person who has the most promising prospects to be the future Chief.

Qiao Nan stares at the well-built man in front of her. He has firm abs and cold, chilling eyes. She swallows the lump in her throat as she says her greetings, "Good Morning, Chief!"

The semester results were out. I peeked out the noticeboard. As excepted, i was the department topper. As it was the first year , we aren't aligned class as per our department but, we will be separted by department from this semester. I called my mom but my brother nitin picked it up. I told him my grades and hung up. I also noted asha and riya's mark to inform, both are passed in distinction. I was standing and tried to check dinesh mark so that i moved to boys section. I was scanning for the name but  a hand was passed over me and checking marks by tracing line on paper. I stood standstill holding my breath on place to stop inhaling his perfume, I know its dinesh he is the one who wears watch and bracelet on right hand . He looked little irritated by his marks. He stomped his foot on floor and moved on. I breathed which i holded for sometime.
In curiosity i checked his marks,He had secured second mark in his department, isn't a good mark?. Maybe he would have aimed for first mark, i checked his department to know who secured first. I gasped, we are going to be in same class from this semester.

 i changed a lot. Not only by looks but also in attitude. I was bold than before and matured. But, when i was with my friends, i leave all my brain and follow my heart. I literally, change as a kid when i was with them. So comfort zoned. I dont want to miss them .Time changes everything..Everything changed, except the fire when i see him. However i remind myself not to see him, by knowing or without knowing i peek him two days once. I never miss any football match if he plays, single excuse i made myself.

"I dont want to go that stupid class", asha said by throwing her book. I picked it and sat behind her by placing my arms around.
Riya sat with us.
"me too", she gave us a pout.
"but we will be here after everyday, we gonna be in same hostel room. We sleep together, we bath together, we study together. we can spend the lost time by waking up to midnight", i tried convince.
"but, its not like before", riya frowned and hugged us. We spoke for long time than normal day and slept on each other's lap. 

I couldn't move, felt numb. Heavy weight on my shoulder and lap, i tried to open my eyes. I hardly moved riya and asha and stretched my hands and legs. Accidently, i happened to see the wall clock. Omg, its 7.30. after seeing time, i felt so fresh. We need to be in class in half an hour. I shouted , cried and shook them. but, they didn't respond. Finally, i took a bucket full of water and splashed on them.
"meeeeraaaaa",riya shouted.
"you are such an idiot", asha said.
"ofcourse i am. its 7.30. wake up first", i yelled.
They noticed and moved faster. We took a quick shower and got ready. I took a deep breathe as we entered college. our paths going to be little different from today. We entered our respective classes, promised to meet on lunch and intervals.
Everyone looked new to me, i never seen these people in my college. a girl in blue specs and white shirt smiled at me, as i entered. Her bench is already filled with people so, I smiled and sat in the bench near window. Our new professor entered and started to give the overview about the class he is going to handle. i felt lonely for first time in this college, i diverted myself by sightseeing through window. Suddenly, i felt a jerk on my bench, dinesh sat beside. I know he will be in my class and i mentally prepared. Moreover, i was not in active mind, my mind is sluggish. I looked through the window again.
Professor explained everything and asked us to copy the syllabus as he dictates. Everything is in syllabus book, i dont know why the hell he wants to make us write and to waste time. i pretended to write and tried to understand the topic by name. Dinesh looked at me after sometime and i was aware of the fact. Yet, maintained eye on board. He took my note that i was writing,flipped the last page and  wrote something.
i was little stunned and curious by his act. I grabbed my notebook and opened last page.

Our places on this earth are divided by oceans setting us apart from one continent to another. Several countries speaking several languages to understand each other. People with several cultures and beliefs. Different personalities and opinions.

In this chaotic world, we live in called real life we search for a place to escape from that reality. To be accepted as who or what we are. We have found that in the music we sing. In the books, we read. In the movies we watch. In the places, we travel and visit. Everywhere in which we get inspiration to face reality head-on.

We write stories or poems to inspire others, reading the words we weave from our own world. For some of us, it is simply an escape from reality into a world in which we can use our imaginations to dream make-believe or to live our secret fantasies or just plain be creative.

Getting on the web gives us more ways to share and get connected to other people with the same kind of thinking from across the ocean. Some of the people we meet along the way give us reasons to smile again. It's where we become friends, get to know them well, and get so close that we even trust them enough to share our own greatest fears.

I was a living a kind of living death when I found solace here on Stories Space. A place to write, camouflaging my hatred and sadness from myself when I was reading all the poetry and fictional fantasies created by the writers. I found another escape from reality and indulged in reading.

My feelings from my own troubles in life had made me feel so empty that only through laughter and reading could I be free and somewhat whole again.

I made my own heaven in purgatory.

A friend told me to write down all of my pains and troubles in poems or stories. Another friend of mine told me to be fierce in my poetry writing. I found friends who helped me give my own life a reason to continue living again through writing.

Writing makes me calm every time my mind gets into a panic mode. The pains and the fears of the unknown are my muses for writing.

When I met someone who understood me and made me feel needed and loved my poetry changed its tune. It made me think of happy thoughts. I got inspired by the things I saw and the happy memories of my childhood that I could write about.

Painful memories and realities were always there and so I wrote about them from time to time.

When that someone left me I continued writing. The same inner muse I had gained I used to keep on writing.

Then, out of nowhere, I got to know you. I became happy again. This time I got even more inspired and more creative, experimenting with my writings.

I set aside my shyness and reservations to write creatively. I still can't overcome some of my shyness and reservation but I am blooming, inspired by you.

You became my muse.

The man in the moon. The stars in my darkest hours. When at night I can't sleep thinking of you calms me to sleep.

The sunshine after the heavy storm. Where all the dead trees come to life again. That keeps me warm when everything gets chilly.

My own little heaven in my real life purgatory.

Voidne is the unluckiest person in the world.  Just like his mother, he needs to work 5 times harder than normal people, just to achieve the same thing.

I am a 13 year old who loves reading .I thought that I cold give a try in writing and here I am .Never expected anyone to read my book and Thank you to all who read it.I live in India so we have English as our first language so there won't be many grammatical mistakes.We have compulsory creative writing in English so all of us are used to writing lame stories.I know currently nothing much is happening in the story but I can assure that by the weekend the story will get interesting.

what if, your marriage was not your own choice

Cloud Street.
The other shop owners all started chattering as they saw Lin Fan and the rest return. They were concerned about the final verdict of the trial. They weren't surprised when they heard that Lin Fan had gotten three hundred and twenty thousand dollars.
All of them were happy for Master Lin. The person who had smashed up Master Lin's shop had probably not expected to have to compensate such a large amount. Furthermore, he had to serve 6 months instead of the original 1 month. They all laughed at the thought of it.
Even an idiot wouldn't screw up this badly.
Lin Fan and the others looked on in confusion as they listened to the designer explain to them the different design concepts from the blueprints.
The designer then took out the finalized concept art out of his bag.
"You should have brought that out earlier. I couldn't really understand what you were trying to explain just now," Fraud Tian commented.
"..."
The final concept art for the renovation looked satisfying enough. It was an easy design which was refreshing to look at and it was definitely better than the old shop design.
Lin Fan pointed at the picture. "Leave this part empty instead of installing a glass door. It'll be much more comfortable this way. Otherwise, we'd feel constricted inside here.
Although he wasn't an expert in design, he had some concept of how the renovation should look like. The designer took a note of Lin Fan's request, writing it down diligently.
"I hope that you guys can complete this as fast as possible. Price wise, you can just look for him" Lin Fan said as he looked at Fraud Tian.
The designer nodded. This kind of easy-going customer who didn't ask for much was the best.

The verdict for the case was posted online by some netizens, inciting a flurry of reactions.
"How wonderful! This guy is just sky high on bullying people. Too bad he doesn't have sky high luck"
"His 1-month sentence became a 6-month sentence. He's gotta be kicking himself in the butt right now."

Nighttime, eleven o'clock.
Lin Fan had had a mini gathering with the rest and only got home this late.
"Mum, I'm tired," a child who was carrying a schoolbag said listlessly to his mother. His eye bags were drooping down.
"Liven up a bit, will you? When we get back, we're going to take another look at what your teacher gave you. You must be hardworking when it comes to our learning," the lady said.
Lin Fan glanced at them for a few moments. "The kid is in junior high school already, right?"
The lady took a look at Lin Fan. "He's already in year two. Hey, I haven't seen you around before. Did you just shift here?"
Lin Fan nodded. "Yep. Just recently."
Lin Fan had never seen both mother and child around before. But he had guessed about right. He always left the house at eight in the morning and only came home at nightfall. The chances of meeting them were pretty low.
"It looks like the kid is pretty tired. Is school really that stressful now? It's almost eleven thirty already." Lin Fan had never been a good student. Even when he wasn't tired he would just sleep around nine or ten o'clock.
"Ah, it can't really be helped even if he's tired. If he doesn't go for tuition, he's going to lose out to the rest of the kids in class."
"Tuition can't really be that important, can it? All you have to do is to pay attention in class and that should be enough, right?" Lin Fan chuckled.
The lady shook her head. "It's hardly enough. In school, they don't really teach well. Only in tuition classes do they summarise everything for him. So if he doesn't go for tuition classes, he probably wouldn't be able to string together everything that the teacher taught in school and will definitely lose out to the rest of the students."
Lin Fan shook his head. "With this kind of situation, shouldn't you talk to the principal of the school?"
"That is impossible! How would my kid be able to stay in school like that? The other parents would get angry at me. I've heard my son tell me before that there was a parent who did exactly that and their kid got shoved aside in class. There were even a couple of other parents who turned up at their door to create a ruckus, telling them to mind their own business and not to get up their alley just because their kid didn't go for tuition."
The kid looked up. "Mum, you got this all wrong. My classmate comes from an underprivileged family and can't afford to attend tuition classes. In the end, the teachers didn't really pay any attention to her in class and they didn't have a choice but to send her to tuition classes. I realize that she is always in tears, saying it's hard on her parents, but she won't say anything more other than that."
The lady patted her son on his head. "Now you know, you should go and read a bit more. Mummy will cook supper for you and then you can sleep."
The child gave a blank stare, listless. "I'm thinking of changing classes already. Only my teachers are like that. The students from other classes told me that the teachers in the other classes aren't like that at all."
"Since when was it that easy to change classes? Your school is an elite school. Daddy and mummy spent a lot of effort to get you into that school. You better study harder!" the lady said.
The kid heaved a heavy sigh. "I know. I'll work harder."
"Yup, now that's a good kid."
The elevator reached the floor.
Lin Fan didn't say anything else. All he felt was a sense of helplessness after hearing that situation. The number of similar cases was many. Even if the governing board created new regulations and policies, the people on the ground always would find a way to oppose it. It was an endless cycle.
After talking about school, Lin Fan also recalled his school days.
He didn't know what was going on with the governing board for education, but they kept on changing the syllabus in school and the school kept on changing the content that they taught. All the other students were suffering since all of them became Guinea pigs for the new syllabus. Regardless of whether the new syllabus was a success or not, the result was futile.
They were as good as cannon fodder.
At that time, Lin Fan had complained to the higher ups but nothing was ever done. It was just pilot tests after pilot tests. He didn't know how he even managed to survive all of that.
The first floor.
Lin Fan nodded goodbye to both mother and son. This was the first time that he had met them.

*Ding ding!*
The phone was ringing.
The caller ID showed Jiang Fei on the screen. It was someone that Lin Fan hadn't contacted for quite some time.
"President Lin…" Jiang Fei's voice echoed on the other side of the call.
There was a momentary silence.
"Elder Jiang, could you repeat that again? I've never heard anyone call me that before," Lin Fan said in a hushed tone.
Jiang Fei was momentarily taken by surprise before letting out a chuckle, "President Lin…"
Lin Fan felt a sense of happiness when he heard that title.
"What's up so early in the morning, Elder Jiang?"
Jiang Fei paused for a while, looking at his watch. "It's already eight thirty, it isn't early at all. Do you remember that guy called Han Lu? He came to the association. He said he was looking for you."
Lin Fan was stunned for a moment. "Looking for me? What for?"
"I'm not sure. We tried asking him to be he didn't say. We thought that he was looking to pick a fight with you but he said it wasn't for that reason," Jiang Fei replied.
Lin Fan couldn't figure out a reason why Han Lu would look for him. "Alright, ask him to wait there. I'll come over in a moment."


I am Lin Fan and I've become a jack of all trades just because of a powerful Encyclopedia. 
In the first ever competition organised for trolls, all the other contestants lost. The crowd exclaimed, "Brother, you're so good at trolling."
