Emica Kana is 18 years old. She has always loved writing stories., They were her escape from reality. She always wished that a man would come and save her like they always do in the stories.
Well, she got her wish.
Emica entered a small writing school that was near a river. Her friend had joined her. But, the teacher had an odd vibe around him. Emica became a little scared of him. She especially became scared when the teacher started to pay more attention to her. One day, when she runs from him, she falls into a world of adventure, risk, and abnormalities. 
But, her teacher is what scares her more than this new world. What secrets and schemes did he use to get her here?

Xue Jing only wanted to sell to someone that gave him good vibes. Good vibes were hard to define, but somehow, he felt that he wouldn't be upset if he sold his flat to Fang Zhao and the apartment was completely renovated.
Just as Fang Zhao put it, different arrangers would handle the same song differently. Different styles would come out. Everyone was equally entitled to leave their mark. Any buyer was simply a temporary custodian of the property.
Property prices in Qi'an were quite high, especially in this neighborhood. Flats that were located on the 100th floor or higher usually cost at least 10,000 dollars per square meter. There was only one penthouse apartment in the building. The entire property took up some 200 square meters, but the flat only accounted for half of it. A garden and a parking space took up the other half.
The price tag was 10 million, which was cheap compared to similar properties in the area. The market value was no less than 20 million.
One of the reasons why real estate in that neighborhood was expensive was the presence of security guards and regular patrols. Quite a few Yanzhou celebrities bought homes in the area to avoid media attention. Xue Jing had bought this place back then because he'd wanted the peace and quiet. He was no celebrity, but he was quite influential in the music industry. Many people sought him out for favors, hoping a word from Xue Jing would translate into shortcuts. Xue Jing got so fed up he moved here. "There's another reason I invited you here, besides selling you my apartment. It's entirely up to you. No pressure," Xue Jing said.
Fang Zhao had thought a favor might be attached when Xue Jing had announced his asking price. Given Xue Jing was so generous with his pricing, Fang Zhao would comply as long as it wasn't too big of a favor.
"Please continue," Fang Zhao said.
"As you know, I'm not teaching these days, focusing instead on editing and writing textbooks." Xue Jing looked at Fang Zhao. "I'm working on a book about symphonic works. I'd like to use your songs as an example."
Xue Jing was writing a textbook that analyzed symphonies and served as a how-to primer. Symphonies were an offbeat genre. Music students tended to avoid the specialty. Even though symphonies enjoyed greater prestige within the industry, they weren't too popular.
Xue Jing wasn't only concerned with turning a profit. The elders in the industry didn't bother with symphonies, but the genre had to be preserved. Xue Jing didn't want to cut and paste like previous authors. He wanted to present contemporary examples. This would require Fang Zhao to discuss his creative vision, his sources of inspiration, and some memorable moments from the creative process. In short, Xue Jing wanted Fang Zhao to pass on his knowledge and expose more students to the genre of symphonies. It would be the equivalent of a master class in written form. Of course, it was up to Fang Zhao to decide how much to reveal.
"As you know, this isn't a hit single. There won't be much money in it." Xue Jing was frank.
Fang Zhao's emergence gave Xue Jing hope. The "100-Year Period of Destruction" series probably made for the most memorable symphonic pop songs in the past century. More importantly, the series was not condescending. It took the accessible form of pop music and reached a broad audience.
Many young composers were reluctant to share their creative insight, so Xue Jing thought Fang Zhao would take his time to consider the request. Little did he expect Fang Zhao to agree immediately.
"No problem."
But Fang Zhao wasn't actually that young. He was happy to share his knowledge and pass on the lessons he'd learned from the end of days. Human life was finite, but there were no bounds to shared experience and knowledge.
Xue Jing was delighted. "Terrific. Terrific. I'll add your name to the list of consulting editors."
Textbooks in the New Era—whether in print or electronic form—identified their authors clearly. University regulations also required them to identify their editors and consulting editors.
Normally, protocol dictated that if the length of your contribution was brief and the content wasn't essential to the book, you weren't listed as a contributing editor. Xue Jing was thinking Fang Zhao probably wouldn't share at length, but the fact that he was willing to open up and share was worth applauding. Xue Jing was glad to give him credit.
"My assistant will brief you on the mechanics of contributing to the book. You could also organize your thoughts ahead of time. As for the apartment, I'll send for packers right away. I'll have all the paperwork completed and the flat vacated in three days. There's no rush in paying me. If you can't pay the full amount in one go, you can pay in installments over a few years. No hurry."
"It's OK. I can pay in full now," Fang Zhao said.
Fang Zhao left the apartment after the conversation ended. Xue Jing had him chauffeured back to Silver Wing. Fang Zhao got a call from Zhu Zhen, Duan Qianji's assistant, while en route.
"Fang Zhao, someone from Leizhou wants to use the third movement in a movie soundtrack. They don't want to buy the song outright—just license it for 30 days." In other words, there would be a moratorium on the song's release in other formats for 30 days after the film began screening in theaters.
Orders like this from another continent were rare and often translated into new opportunities.
"We haven't discussed the price yet. Chairman Duan wants to get your OK first," Zhu Zhen said.
"To use on a soundtrack? It's a production company from Leizhou?"
"Yes. The deal will help promote the song, but the production company doesn't have a great reputation."
Every continent had protectionist measures in place to shore up their own music and film industries. "Cocoon Breach" was a good example that illustrated this trend. After the song was proven to have an impact on Hull virus patients, the publicity on other continents glossed over the title of the song or made brief mention of it. The focus was on its effect on Hull virus carriers and related topics. The medical discussion took precedence, obscuring any talk of Polar Light or details about the first and second movements.
It was one thing if the two songs were merely released as songs. But the two movements were inextricably linked to a virtual idol, so they were heavily censored in Leizhou.
Media coverage of the songs in Leizhou not only buried the title of the songs and the names of the composer and production company—Polar Light wasn't mentioned at all. Few people who read the news reports searched for the songs. The first two movements also weren't available for download outside of Yanzhou.
So what Duan Qianji had in mind was using the Leizhou film as an alternative platform, even though it might be a crappy production. Given the fact that the two songs were not available for download outside of Yanzhou, they could license them for placement in films. This didn't affect their marketing plan in Yanzhou.
But Duan Qianji was worried that Fang Zhao would find the placement degrading if the film was a mediocre production just judging from appearances. He might be turned off. That was why she had asked Zhu Zhen to run the plan by Fang Zhao first before entering into negotiations.
After being briefed by Zhu Zhen, Fang Zhao thought for about two seconds. "I'd like to get a sense of the plot of the film and where exactly the song will be placed."
"I'm not entirely clear on either. Let me get back to you."
Half an hour later, Zhu Zhen sent Fang Zhao an encrypted file that outlined the plot and where the third movement would be placed.
The document also listed the names of the production company and key investors as well as the main actors.
The credits would have meant nothing to someone outside the entertainment industry in Yanzhou. But anyone from Leizhou could tell from the names of the production company and investors that the film was a shameless ploy to promote a certain star. What wass funny was that, despite their corny story lines and shitty acting, films like this did OK at the box office. People usually bitched as they watched these movies online. They knew they were crap but they couldn't resist watching. Maybe it was a form of venting.
Fang Zhao spent an afternoon watching previous releases backed by the same production company and investors. He had his answer by sundown.
"I'll sign off on this. My only request is that the third movement only be used for the scene specified. There is no leeway on this. It can only be played then."

Chapter 1

Rains are dropping beautifully in the sky. I watch as the rain drops into the cemented school ground. I am sitting silently on the very back of the class beside the window where I watches the rain freely. Our teacher in Creative Writing is discussing in front about writing styles making the lesson more boring thus made my mind fly and got occupied by the thought of how my normal boring life suddenly changed causing me to be so problematic now. By the way my name is Anna Marie Marcelo, a nerdy college girl who loves to read novels and watch anime. As a kid I always hated my life for being so boring and normal, I always wanted or hoped that just one day of it will be exciting and worth living for. Yet, when I found out my real identity oh gosh! I feel like I am in a major mystery thriller story with a twist. 

"I wonder why my life turns like this. Osh!" I said giving off a deep sighs of distress.

For a few months I have encountered and experienced much trouble I never had when I was still the normal boring Anna Marie.

---FLASH BACK/1 MONTH AGO---
I and my best friend Margie Grace Domingo are walking in the school ground trying to find our way towards the highway to wait for some public transports. Our subjects just ended and the sky is beginning to darken indicating that our teacher had forgotten to constantly check the time... again.

"Wow, just WOW! Sir is so stressing. Look at the time its already pass 6:30 plus I am so tired. Vacation is already 3 days from now, I bet your professors have also given you some projects?" Margie said as she fixes her shoulder bag in her right shoulder.

"Yap, you hit the jackpot! One big book report and a damn stupid movie review. Forget that, I'm starving. Can we stop somewhere... say McDonalds?" I said as I look at my friend's stressed look.

"We really are in sync, I'm hungry to. McDonalds sounds great." Margie said as she rubs her stomach as if telling me that she is really hungry. This made us both laugh as Margie took off her glasses and wipes it with her handkerchief then returns it back into her face. 

"Dude, just go to your ophthalmologist and get your eyes checked up. You said your glasses are issued way long ago. Look at your glasses they are blurry." I said as I look at my friend.

"Yah right, money dude... I ain't got any. Plus, mom's medication is our priority right now so glasses of long ago should have to do for now." Margie said as we walk at the alley where we pass a street light and a small store.

"Well, priority first right I mean-----." I didn't finish when my cellphone rings causing me to dig into my shoulder bad to look for my cellphone.

I was beyond dazed seeing my mother's caller ID, since the day I came to the city to study since High School they rarely call or text me so it is a shock as to why they are calling me in such late night. With furrowed eyebrows I swipe the answer key and place it into my left ear.

"Hello ma?" I said still in daze.

For a few moments I silently listen to what she wanted to say until she ends the call. Margie is waiting on me as she looks at me worriedly. I look at her with a sorry look on my face making her confused.

"What's wrong?" Margie asks still looking at me in pure confusion.

"Sorry Gie I have to head home pronto. Ma said they are here and there is something important they need to tell me. Let's eat out next time; I was really looking forward to dining with you again. How about we eat tomorrow... say Inasal?" I said as I smile to my friend who smiled as she nods.

Oh by the way I haven't yet introduced my best friend. Her name is Margie Grace Domingo, a nerdy like me who is also a lover of anime and novels. That, must be the reason why we are best friend... we have a lot in common. We continue to walk towards the waiting station where Margie will commute since she lives different direction to mine. As we wait for a public transport I was thinking couple of why's as to why my parents are here unannounced. I was back to myself when I saw Margie signed a public jeep that stops in front of us.

"Anna I'm heading first. See you tomorrow and... better prepare your savings because we will enjoy our days before vacation. See yah!" Margie waves as she rides the jeep.

I waves back at her as I watch the jeep going away. I sigh as I walk towards the private road towards the waiting station of public jeeps traveling to the street where I live in this small boarding house right beside my uncle's house.

I wonder why my mother simply give me the instruction to immediately head home and to come to my uncle Oliver's house, not to the boarding house.  When I arrive and enter the gate I see an expensive looking black car parked in front the yard of my uncle's house but I just thought that my uncle must have some visitors. I stand in front of the wide door unsure if I will knock or just ring the doorbell. It confuses me as to why I suddenly feel my heart beats too fast and I feel so uneasy. I took a deep breath and slowly knock since that is what I usually do when I go to my uncle's. The door opens revealing my elementary crush and maybe until now... Michael Adamson.

"H-Hi uhmnnnn Anna this... uhmnn want to... I just want to warn you. Be ready for anything that will about to happen... oh sorry, do come in. Anna, good luck." He said making me uneasy.

Michael step aside for me to enter but I am still confused and worried to what he have said. The relationship I had with Michael ever since elementary is cold, formal and yah pretty awkward. Even when he came to live with my uncle for college which is a total shock to me since I was really thinking that we won't be crossing path after graduation. Even if we are seeing each other every day, we never shared a very normal conversation. It is like we are embarrassed to even look or utter a word to each other. But what is happening today is a bit confusing to me.

"Ahmnn Michael, w-what do you mean by what you say? A-are my parents here?" I ask trying to hide my flushing face and to stop my fast beating heart.

"Ehmnnnn they are in the kitchen." He said smiling as he close the door.

I watch him walk towards the sofa to sit beside my cousin Casper. The three children of my uncle are there watching an anime in their wide flat screen TV. Ian look at me with a welcoming smile and their only sister Nina waved at me with a smile; I answered them with a smile to. Michael on the other hand is related to my Uncle Oliver's family because his father is the step-brother of the wife of my uncle. That is why he came to live with them for college. I also found out that my auntie is the one paying his college. 

"Anna dear? Is that you? Come on in here, we are in the dining room." I heard my uncle's call coming from the other side of the wall right on the dining room.

Clyra my cute 4 years old niece, the first child of my older sister Arsey and her husband Jack came running from the dining room towards me. Clyra is wearing her favorite green dress that I usually see every time they will come to visit me.

"Auntie...te!" Clyra excitedly jump as she grabs my shoulder bag pulling it off me.

"Oh careful there." I said as she run away with my bag in her hand and place it into the sofa beside Michael.

I watch her as she suddenly raise my bag upon opening it and emptied the content into the sofa. My notebooks, bullpens, some lecture materials and others are scattered on the sofa as Clyra look into it as if looking for something. When she found what she is looking for... a piece of candy I thankfully left in there unnoticed, my niece then run towards the dining room leaving my things in a total mess. I look into it and Michael carefully returns the items back inside my bag giving me one last look with a smile. I mounted my thanks before taking a deep breath and walking towards the dining room breezing myself for anything that might happen.

A fiber of connection from miles away...



Our places on this earth are divided by oceans setting us apart from one continent to another. Several countries speaking several languages to understand each other. People with several cultures and beliefs. Different personalities and opinions.

In this chaotic world, we live in called real life we search for a place to escape from that reality. To be accepted as who or what we are. We have found that in the music we sing. In the books, we read. In the movies we watch. In the places, we travel and visit. Everywhere in which we get inspiration to face reality head-on.

We write stories or poems to inspire others, reading the words we weave from our own world. For some of us, it is simply an escape from reality into a world in which we can use our imaginations to dream make-believe or to live our secret fantasies or just plain be creative.

Getting on the web gives us more ways to share and get connected to other people with the same kind of thinking from across the ocean. Some of the people we meet along the way give us reasons to smile again. It's where we become friends, get to know them well, and get so close that we even trust them enough to share our own greatest fears.

I was a living a kind of living death when I found solace here on Stories Space. A place to write, camouflaging my hatred and sadness from myself when I was reading all the poetry and fictional fantasies created by the writers. I found another escape from reality and indulged in reading.

My feelings from my own troubles in life had made me feel so empty that only through laughter and reading could I be free and somewhat whole again.

I made my own heaven in purgatory.

A friend told me to write down all of my pains and troubles in poems or stories. Another friend of mine told me to be fierce in my poetry writing. I found friends who helped me give my own life a reason to continue living again through writing.

Writing makes me calm every time my mind gets into a panic mode. The pains and the fears of the unknown are my muses for writing.

When I met someone who understood me and made me feel needed and loved my poetry changed its tune. It made me think of happy thoughts. I got inspired by the things I saw and the happy memories of my childhood that I could write about.

Painful memories and realities were always there and so I wrote about them from time to time.

When that someone left me I continued writing. The same inner muse I had gained I used to keep on writing.

Then, out of nowhere, I got to know you. I became happy again. This time I got even more inspired and more creative, experimenting with my writings.

I set aside my shyness and reservations to write creatively. I still can't overcome some of my shyness and reservation but I am blooming, inspired by you.

You became my muse.

The man in the moon. The stars in my darkest hours. When at night I can't sleep thinking of you calms me to sleep.

The sunshine after the heavy storm. Where all the dead trees come to life again. That keeps me warm when everything gets chilly.

My own little heaven in my real life purgatory.

"Koko ni anatatowatashi."
It was the name of the painting.

"Why? Why was this painting here?" She muttered in her breath.

It was an oil painting on canvas about 48 by 60 inches in dimensions. A still painting of a corner post where a violin is placed on an angle on a wooden chair beside a closed sash window. A bright morning portrayed. There was a pot of gladiolus flowers painted on top of the side table with a stash of books and a lit firelamp. The painting itself emanates an air of spring, beauty and tranquility but Laurice was feeling restless instead. 

She was rooted to the ground. She eyed the painting before her, hanging on that pristine beige wall. Her senses overdrive. Laurice moved her body, with unhurried steps inching closer to the painting and just as she was about to reach the end of the hall, she retreated a few steps back. Her eyes widened in shock.

So close. So real. 

With bare hands slightly trembling, she extended her right hand and reached out to the painting, almost touching the canvas with the tip of her fingers but her hands suspended mid-air. It was a long pause before she decided to retrieved back her hand to rest on her sides. 

"Here you and me." That was the essence of the painting. 
Her own painting. It was the third amongst her artworks that were completed. 

Daddy. 

Laurice's clear eyes sunk into a deep well. 

She remembered her father, her best friend, was the one who taught her how to paint. He taught her techniques and different styles and they even created art together. Painted together. 

She remembered her dad who have always had high hopes and praises of her only daughter, inspires her to do whatever she desires, to reach an even larger medium for her art, was suddenly hinting his retirement from his career at that specific time. 

"My liz, darling. If one day, dad would want to quit painting. Will you be able to forgive me?" 

"Papa! Don't you dare! I will not accept that. You promised we're on this together, forever. And besides, I don't believe you could ever toss away you brushes and your leads. You hands will betray you papa, believe me." She scoffed.

It was almost her graduation day and her father was even saying something upsetting. How cruel!

She is finishing off her Degree in Fine Arts and Studio Arts majoring in Drawing and Painting in a prestigious university in the states back then. She even took up Creative Writing as another major since she loves to compose literary works and was doing excellent in all of her subjects. She was a candidate with the highest honors in their batch. Her parents must be so proud of her. Especially her father, who was an artist himself. But she must be hearing things from him.

That time ...

Her father chose to remain silent. He only looked at her daughter, something unreadable flashed his very eyes. 

Was it regret? Laurice wondered. Drifting from her memories as if spell-bound. 

Or was it fear? Despair? that she senses in his father's eyes back then. She could never guess. And she could never get her answers anyway. Never again will she be able to reach her own father who has abandoned not only his career but his very own daughter.

This painting was supposed to be her gift to her father on her graduation day. The very same day he choose to leave their own home, leaving his beloved wife and child behind. 

Laurice retrieved her eyes from the dull painting. She balled her fist on one side, the other now clutching her chest. Tears begun  looming on the side of her lifeless eyes.  

Here you and me?! Rubbish! 

She thought that she had already managed to dispose this painting, even suggested tearing and burning the entire canvas itself but it seems her agent have handled it on her own terms back then and now it has found it's way here in this particular home. 

How unlucky! 

Her emotions are getting unstable as of this moment. From fear to loneliness, then longing and now anger, while she was completely oblivious around her. She haven't realized that someone was intently watching her from the sidelines. 

There, standing in the further top of the grand staircase, the man was looking down at the strange woman with a composed face devoid of any emotion and yet exuding an aura with a tinge of rage that could send chills to anyone surrounding it.

Laurice took a deep breath as if resigning from this momentary disturbance to her sanity and turn to the butler who was too  anxious he couldn't muster to utter a word to her. 

The look on his face brought her back to the present. 
Laurice closed her eyes for one second and inhaled sharply before speaking.

"Butler Han, may i excuse myself for awhile? I need to use the restroom." She appeared to have regained composure looking at ease like she had not been bothered by the painting at all.

The butler wanted to ask her what was wrong but looking at her face as if sensing her reservation, he decided not to meddle anymore. He nods and led her to the wash room.

Louie tugged at the hem of her shirt and looked up to her with worried and curious eyes. She gently pats his head to reassure him as if telling him everything's alright, before going inside the wash room.

The little young master was left behind feeling listless. 

Something is wrong with his mommy! He thought.

He was about to look for his father for help when a figure suddenly appeared to his side.

Sid lifted his son and held him with one hand while clutching his phone on the other. He understands what his son was feeling as he was quite troubled himself though he appears not affected by what he had just witnessed. This stranger is unknowingly stirring their emotions. It's odd and frustrating.

The father and son decided to wait for her at the living area. Time passed by slowly. Sid noticed something then frowned. They have already skipped lunch and Laurice has been on the washroom for almost an hour now. 

What is she doing? 

The frown never left his handsome face as he stare at that particular direction. He was getting impatient and restless by the minute. And just as he was about to stand, his son, who was seating opposite him at the sofa suddenly sprinted to his side and held his leg.

"Daddy, i have a bad feeling. Why is mommy not getting out yet?"

He was amused to find out his son was panicking. He didn't notice that while waiting, the both of them have been staring at the wall clock unblinking since they took their seats. Only the butler was aware of all this commotion. 

"Come." He held his son's hand and went to the washroom.

The butler was in shock. What was happening? Both his masters are looking extremely worried about one woman?! They have only been waiting for about 45 minutes and yet they could no longer pretend not to care. He has no idea what they were feeling right now. Not that he didn't care as well but he was just curious. 

What's with the painting?
And why the sudden visitor? 
Why was his masters so drawn to the woman? 
He will soon find the answers himself.

The moment they reached the washroom, Sid immediately knock on the door three times. No answer. Another three knocks. Still no answer. 

"Laurice, open the door." Sid said in a deep voice with a warning.
Still no answer. 

With a flicker of his finger, the servant beside them handed the key over to the young master. And just as he was about to hook the keys to the hole ...

Screech!

The door finally opened. 
A sullen figure emerged from inside.

At that serendipitous moment, Laurice was certain she saw something in his cognac eyes - something akin to love.

Extra Scene: 

"I like you." 

The man was still lost in his thoughts when he heard the words. It was almost inaudible. Like a careless whisper.

"Y-you like me?" He uttered.

"W-well, i don't h-hate you." Laurice stammered. 

The man arched his eyebrows in amusement. He grinned at the woman who was being defensive. A playful glint flashed past his eyes.

"Can i kiss you, then?" Sid asked.

Laurice: " ...???!!! " A kiss?

"Wait, someone used an illusion?"
Some of the apprentices grew alarmed, while the other wizards sneered at them.
"The magic array isn't triggered, so the illusion is not harmful. No need to get all worked up."
When the piece of cloth was fully removed, the ripples became a fully functional illusion which covered the entire auction hall up together with music, thus surprising everyone.
We could "see" music? People wondered.
We could use a music box like this?? Prome, as well as the other alchemists, wondered.
The gentle music played by the box and the Tranquility Rune that was placed on it masterfully amplified each other.
Lydia quickly lost herself in the music. She enjoyed different styles of music. This gentle piece might not be the best one she heard of yet, but it was beautiful enough.
When enjoying herself in the soothing clouds, Lydia was getting convinced to make her first purchase of the night.
Inside another chamber, Flora was also quite shocked at the item. However, compared to the music, she was more interested in the illusion.
Flora was not an illusionist. But as Sunders' student, she knew the correct way to examine illusions. She already found out that the music box was based on a Melodious Illusion.
Whoever deployed the illusion had to possess a solid knowledge about basic illusions as well as expertise in micro illusions.
The important factor was that the creator of the music box never used anything too complicated. He combined a simple cantrip with music and enchantment and produced something worth noting down in the textbooks of Acoustic Illusion.
It was not all about praises though. The clouds and sky were perfectly made, but Flora easily noticed flaws when looking down.
There were vast grassland and stretching mountains down below. They stood too high in the air to observe the scenery clearly, and this was where the illusion was wrong.
Flora was sure that the creator of the illusion never spent much time flying in the air, or he would not have made such an obvious mistake when determining people's range of visibility.
However, only someone who knew illusions well enough could notice the mistakes. Flora concluded that the music box was a finely-made and creative alchemy piece of art.
Those who loved it would love it very much, while the remaining people would not leave any harsh comment about it. Both Flora and Lydia reached the same conclusion.
On the second floor, Prome was also immersed in the cloud illusions and enjoyed the soothing melodies.
"A work of genius!" Prome gave Angor an approving look. He had willingly admitted that the music box was an outstanding creation when he himself would never be able to find such an inspiration.
Dave enjoyed the illusion while feeling a bit down. He regretted not joining Angor. If only he knew that Angor was making something so beautiful…
Almost everyone in the hall presented their positive comments for the music box.
Twilight glanced at Chamber 1 and grinned. She knew well that the illusion had not shown its full potential.
As people all believed that the music would end like this, the illusion shifted.
Dark clouds suddenly came into view, blocking sunlight.
Snakes of lightning danced wildly inside the clouds.
"Ohh! Something's coming!" Someone mumbled.
The sudden change raised everyone's curiosity again, including Lydia and Flora.
Another shadowy figure in a Gold VIP chamber secretly raised his eyebrow.
As the music went on, people found themselves dive into the thunderclouds head-first.
Several string instruments worked together to announce the end of the thunderclouds and white mist and clouds showed up once again. However, there seemed to be a black shadow hidden behind.
"What's that?" People pointed to the shadow.
With several lively beats, the mist dissipated towards the sides, presenting a floating island to everyone.
"So that's what the name meant. There's really an island in the sky!"
"What's so special about a floating island? Hey, wait… look!"
That was more than a floating island. It was an island with stories hidden behind every trace and detail, urging people to go there and read.
Here, the time had stopped ticking.
"It's… it's love." Someone wept. "When my lover left me ten years ago, I felt so isolated. I sensed the same thing when looking at the deserted island… It reminds me of the love lost in time."
"Hey, look at that tattered building. Who built it? Hey, wait… why did I want to know?"
"Tales… creations! I feel like writing a storybook now!"
Everyone felt their minds pulsing with curiosity when looking at the island sitting still in the sky.
Beside their ears, the gentle music whispered the history of the island at the end of clouds.
Lydia got a strange feeling. The island also reminded her of something decades ago, something she locked deep inside her memory.
She released a deep breath. "Land on the Sky, right? I'm buying it."
In another chamber, Flora stared at the scenery with widened eyes, and for a completely different reason.
Frozen time? This is exactly what it looked like in the Nightmare Realm! But how did a simple illusion carry an element of the Nightmare Realm?
Also, Flora was shocked to find out that she was getting affected by the illusion as well. Her emotion was still calm but looking at anything on the island would cause her mind to pulse with unknown realization.
Something she decided to forget long ago. The days before she was adopted by Sunders. The memories from the miserable days easily came flowing back into her mind.
Strangely, she did not feel pain when thinking about those memories. The gentle rhythm and the still beautiful island somehow mended the scars in her memory.
"Who created such a thing?" The shadowy figure in another Gold VIP chamber wondered. "Music, enchantment alchemy, Melodious Illusion, Nightmare Realm. The story of Augustin and Margaret… and those clouds. Is that the scene on cloud whale?" He pointed out the elements in the illusion in a low and hoarse voice.
The figure could not understand all of the elements. However, from what he could see, the vivid image of his adorable little student quickly popped up inside his mind.
"Oh… I never thought I'd remember those stories from centuries ago ever again. Is that you, Angor?"
He moved his head around, briefly exposing a gentlemanly face.

Angor was oblivious of what was going on in the hall. By using the effect brought by Tranquility Rune, he was now stroking Toby's feathers to calm the bird.
Thanks to the soothing music and the tranquility aura, Toby finally quieted down.
"Thank goodness I used a Tranquility Rune on it, or I don't know if I can control Toby," Angor sighed. He always trusted Toby and allowed the bird to wander outside in a carefree way. He was afraid that the bird might have a hard time getting through such a heavy blow.
When something like this happened, as his guardian, Angor needed to protect Toby.
The music was ending. The misty island was hidden behind approaching clouds, and Angor could sense that Toby completely cooled his tiny head.
Angor tried to tease the bird again and was glad to see Toby responding to his attempts, though somewhat unwillingly. 
The illusion was no more, yet all the people in the hall did not make a sound. It seemed they were still thinking about the great music and beautiful sight which had traveled far from their minds.
"Angor, I don't know what to say," said Dave as he gave Angor a sad look. "Why am I getting the feeling that you always learn stuff a hundred times faster? You can do something in a day when it'd take me years! I mean, you're Angor, right? Who are you and what have you done to him?"
Angor facepalmed. "Well, maybe you're talking about 'yesterday's me'."
"I see… So, an Angor that I don't know about created such an amazing artifact," Dave comforted himself.
Prome also spoke to Angor with mixed emotions, "I know what we should discuss later…"
Angor thought about their agreement yesterday and nodded.
Twilight waited for everyone to collect their senses.
"As you all see, this is 'Land on the Sky'."

I am a 13 year old who loves reading .I thought that I cold give a try in writing and here I am .Never expected anyone to read my book and Thank you to all who read it.I live in India so we have English as our first language so there won't be many grammatical mistakes.We have compulsory creative writing in English so all of us are used to writing lame stories.I know currently nothing much is happening in the story but I can assure that by the weekend the story will get interesting.
