The moment I opened the mahogany double door with excitement and expectation, at that exact moment, it was as if I was in a dream. Everything looked beautiful. There were yellow lights reflected in windows with white dots dancing in it.

'Let's see if the books is as beautiful as the environment looked like.' I thought fidgeting where I stood. Not because of the nervousness but because of a new world that I'll encounter in this fairyland.

There were more people than I expected. The population in this school is only half in my previous school. Not even 1/4 of the students go to the library, but here, almost the whole student population is seated, reading and writing. 

'I thought wrong. That's a first.' I've always expected rich people, especially their children to not care education much. But I should have thought of that much more earlier. I thought back to my first week. Now that I think about it, whenever the professors gives out problems, almost all of my classmates answers correctly and gives their own original thought. Not even citing what they had read on books.

I was too busy thinking how magical this place is that I forgot people shouldn't be underestimated. I shook my head a little bit to focus in front of me.

Although I would like to talk to the librarian, she seemed she had a lot on her hands to even give me a glance. There were a few students asking her questions, which the librarian answered calmly. 

'If it were the librarian in my previous school, she would have caved in.' I watched them first as I listened to their discussion. 

"Law requires a Lawmaker. There are laws for governing heat, light, sound and gravity. As Stephen Hawking once said 'The more we examine the universe, we find it is not arbitrary at all but obeys certain well-defined laws that operate in different areas. It seems very reasonable to suppose that there may be some unifying principles, so that all laws are part of some bigger law.' If you think about it hard enough, there is a possibility that a higher existence who were responsible and behind this laws." 

"Professor, are you saying there is God?" A girl with wavy ash blonde hair asked expectantly.

"I didn't say that, but the speculation is there. It is only your decision and your belief that will lead you to your answer." The librarian looked at her without smiling with authority and confidence in her voice.

"But do you believe in God, Professor?" This time, every eyes in their group looked a t the young boy. He looked small, maybe a first year.

"Everyone believes in everything. People believe in what they do not see. People believe on what they dream. People hope. Some believes God is but a fiction of our imagination, a desire to have a higher authority for a leader, someone powerful, someone who is the reason of every creation there is. Some believes that we are nature itself, grown and evolved from the very beginning of civilization." She looked at them with a bit of warmth and calm in her voice.

"You asked me if I believed?...I do believe, but doubt is always there, whispering in our ears that the other is right while the other is wrong." She stated at the boy.


The boy gaped at her with realization in his eyes and understanding. 

'For a young boy, he seemed to understand her clearly. Smart.' I thought. The librarian has a wide understanding of things around us. The professors here are calm, kind, and patient to the students. They encourage them to voice out their thoughts and ideas in every problem they are given. 

I started walking to another direction. I went to the history section. Once I saw Ancient Egypt, I immediately stopped and took a glance.


If the whole school was old, then the library was ancient. The school mostly used old scriptures and almost yellowed scrolls but they weren't tattered. In fact, there were traces of care and a little bit smell of antiseptic. 

I took one out of one of the wooden shelves. I opened it to take a look inside and what made me see, made me gape in awe. This is amazing. It's written in Coptic language, the Ancient Egyptian language. I placed it back in between the other scrolls and went looking something that is written in a book. 

Once I had taken something that I could understand about Ancient Egypt, I also took a book about Hieroglyphics and a guide to Coptic language.

I went to the farthest and with least students in the library. There was an old window at the front with red, green and blue shining on the chairs and tables. I sat and opened the books, to start reading.

I was almost half of the book when I heard a sound of something dragging on the floor. When I looked at my left, I saw Mike taking a seat beside me.

"Do you mind?" He asked me.

"Um...no." Why ask when you're already sitting?

I went back to reading and bowed my head in front of the books.

"You're learning the Coptic language?" He asked me again with curiosity. I don't like speaking much when I'm so focus into something I want to finish but I don't want to seem rude. So, I caved in. Damnit.

"I wanted to learn more about Ancient Egypt...and I noticed most of the scrolls here about it is written in Coptic and Hieroglyphics." I told him.

"Not unusual. Most history books here are almost like that. The founder loves old scriptures. Anything old is beautiful, I quote."

"Well, he and I seems to agree." 

"I noticed."

"Not unusual." I tell him, repeating what he said with a smirk on my face. It's not bad to open up to new people. I haven't talked to him much but he seems like a good guy.

"Gemini." 

"Hmmm?" I raised my eyebrows.

"You have a twin." He said.

"Oh...you found out. That was the earliest someone found out one of my secrets." I smiled grimly.

"What's the secrecy for?" He asked before adding "If you don't mind me asking." 

"I had a sister." I told him.

"Oh...I'm sorry." I didn't say anything when he offered an apology. What's there to say sorry for when the person herself is already gone? Being sorry doesn't make the dead come back.

"I'm no-not very good in consoling people, that's the girls and sometimes Ted's expertise..." He stated, as if giving an excuse while stuttering. "But if you ever need someone...I'm here. Even if all you need is my shoulder." He looked away. I looked at him, warmed from his offer. I smiled when I saw his ears going red. Clearly embarrassed.

"Thank you. That means a lot." I thanked him smilingly. That's like one of the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me. For a guy, he sure is a sweet person.

"If you ever need help with your subjects...I can help you...if you want to..." I told him, making his embarrassment disappear down the drain as he whipped his head to my direction with appreciation all over his face.

"Thank you...Prima sometimes helps me...but she's always busy with her books." 


"That's expected of her." I have never seen Prima without her books. She's always had her head burrowed in them. That's a running valedictorian for you.

Strange things usually happen uncommonly. Once can be a fling, the second a coincidence, the third...not so much.

But for all of it to happen to a group of kids? That is very suspicious indeed.

The class continued for almost 2 hours. All student eyes just glued onto Jiang chen for these two hours.If it was of their previous professor's lecture, by now, nearly 70% of the entire class might have already slept. No one knows whether Jiang Chen's handsomeness or his sexy voice, that's keeping them awake, that too without even blinking.

No one can disagree that his way of delivering a lecture is really good. His aura is completely different and he explained the concepts very clearly citing various case studies as examples.In general lot of professors can't do this type of teaching.They just deliver what's there in the books and fail to connect it with the real world examples. Zaw whispered in Ziyi's ear, "This guy is impressive. It's going to be hard for you !!"

Ziyi smirked and said, "Wait and watch !!"

After 10 minutes, Jiang Chen stopped the lecture. He looked at the crowd and said, "We will be stopping here for today. I know you guys might be expecting 3 hours class but unfortunately, I don't want you to get tired on the first day itself. I will see you guys again next week."

Everyone nodded and started packing their bags. Ziyi, Zaw, Mian and Aseem got up and started walking towards the exit.As they were about to leave, suddenly some students went near to Ziyi.

"Icey, now that Mr.David is taking break, I think Mr. Jiang will be responsible for our assignments.Could you please have a word with him and ask for the deadline extension, please ?
I read in the group chat that, section 2 has already got their deadline extended. Their class rep got an email from Student services".In fact, everyone had already forgotten about the matter. Ziyi dropped email to prof.David and there was no reply from them. Now that Jiang Chen started taking their class, she should go and speak with him. Ziyi nodded and assured the students that she would speak with Jiang Chen. They nodded happily and left.

Ziyi glanced at the podium and Jiang Chen was just staring at her lovingly. Her expression turned sour. Aseem looked at Ziyi's cold expression and furrowed temples, he told to Zaw, "Bro, let Icey go and speak with him. If we all go, he might not grant the extension". Though Zaw doesn't like to leave Ziyi alone, he can't disagree with Aseem's opinion. Even according to the rules, only class representative must speak with the professor.He just nodded and spoke, "Icey !!...."

"No issues...I can handle this much. You guys leave "

Zaw and Aseem felt guilty for leaving Icey alone. But they are also helpless. "Shall we wait for you outside Icey ?", Mian asked innocently. She was the only person who wasn't aware of the present situation.

"No", Ziyi's voice was calm. Three of them walked out and only Chen, Ziyi are left in the entire auditorium. Ziyi walked close to the podium and stood on the ground level. Jiang Chen walked slowly to the edge of the podium. Ziyi lifted her head and said, "Prof Jiang ..We have a request on behalf of section 1. We would like to request you a two week extension for the assignment submission. Section 2 has already been granted from their professor. Only our section didn't get it."
Jiang Chen kneeled on his one leg and his face is close to Ziyi's face now. He leaned close to her ear and whispered, "So ??"

Ziyi's fingers started to tremble slightly. But since she held her hands tightly, it's hard to notice. Ziyi took a step backwards and said, "It would be great, if you could also give us an extension."

"I can grant the extension easily, but I want you to do one thing for me"

Ziyi thought to herself, 'I know..I know it already....How can he grant something easily without asking anything in return'

However she smiled politely and said, "Please tell me professor. If it's in my ability, I will definitely do it"

"Sleep with me", he said coolly.

"What ??", Ziyi almost freaked out inward.

Alex trudged behind his teacher as they made their way towards a high rise building located on a small hill. The day was slightly overcast, and after his rather inhuman display of talent yesterday, his teacher; Scholar Fan had decided that Alex needed another outlet to focus his energy and also refine his Qi. 

"I've had a little talk with your  grandfather, and we both believe that it's a little too dangerous to leave you practicing on your mountain peak. There has to be something else that would keep your focus, and then help you refine the energy that's in your body. That's why we've both decided to hand you over to elder Nie Zhou; the elder in charge of the Hall of Convocation. He's also a purple grade alchemist, and a blue grade array master. His the in the top three alchemist in the entire world, and ranked seventeenth worldwide when it comes to the arts of formation and array. You're going to be learning from him for the next one and the half months. 

But you should keep a tight schedule, so from sun up till three hours after noon, you're to report to the hall of convocation and learn everything you can. Then after that you're to return to your mountain peak and practice your martial arts for the rest of the day until two hours after sundown. After that you go to sleep, then rinse and repeat. You get Sundays off, you should understand that sometimes it's not the quantity of Qi that you have that matters, it's the quality."

Alex nodded his head in agreement with his teacher's words, even though he still found the entire situation a bit awkward, he had no choice but to go with it for now. Alex followed elder Fan into the sixty floors building dedicated solely to the practice, understanding and creation of pills, weapons/armors/technology, and arrays. Alex didn't know much about the cultivation world, but he doubted there was another building as extravagant as this. 

As they went into the building, drawing attention from the other disciples and elders who were also training or working here, Scholar Fan explained that; each main branch of auxilarry cultivation has 20 floors accorded to it. The blacksmiths had the first twenty floors, followed by the array masters, and then finally the alchemists which took the top twenty floors. 

The arrangement of the floors were actually just for show, and it did not mean that the three departments were competing, especially so since the array and alchemical department are ran by the same person. However each department still try to come up with the best possible products that they can, so as to get more resources allocated to them by the sect. So while there was no official or open air competition, each department still wanted to be the best. 

When Scholar Fan brought Alex to the top floor and requested to meet elder Nie Zhou, even citing that it was on request if the former sect master Zhang Sanfeng,  but the elder refused to see them. It left Alex very shocked and annoyed Scholar Fan to no end. Alex had no idea what was going on, but there's a possibility this elder was on equal standing with his grandfather, and they were not in good terms. 

Left without any other choice, Scholar Fan had to rent a study room with contribution points, and then gather quite a few theoretical knowledge on both alchemy, arrays and blacksmiths. Alex thought that this was indeed the best course of action, the only problem was that each thoeroetical knowledge came in ten inch thick books with no less than fifteen volumes each. Meaning Alex had to absorb knowledge from forty five books, and this were all just theories and introductions, not techniques or methods about how to forge, create pills or arrays. Even with his ridiculous ability to absorb knowledge, this was beyond ridiculous. 

"You don't have to look so traumatized Young Master Alex, I don't expect you to learn everything. Just study a few volumes and then experiment by trying to create something. Also you will have to earn the contribution points needed to buy your materials yourself, this are your grandfather's orders, he wants you to be resourceful. There quite a number of ways for you to get contribution points, when you need then, you would eventually find out how. But get knowledge, knowledge is power, it will help you grow. See you later."

With that said Scholar Fan left the room and the automated sliding doors closed with a click. Alex shook his head and gave the training/practice room a glance, it was the size of a penthouse apartment, there were three rooms that seemed catered to the practice of alchemy, arrays and blacksmithing. Then there was a bathroom and what looked like a bedroom. He was in the main area that had a set of white and gold furniture, and the window opened out into the view of the mountains around him.  This training room was on the 45th floor, so it was quite a ways up, and seeing how extravagant it was, Alex was Sure Scholar Fan had paid a hefty price for it.

He didn't mind anyway, but since this was what he's been given, he would try to make the best of it. So Alex turned and took a seat, picking up the first book that his hand touched.

I said "Okay Grandfather. So are you my magical guardian now?"

Black "I should be. Why?"

I replied "Since you trusted me with the future of the Black family, I should trust you too. You see I am not magically weak like others consider me to be. It is a disguise I created to make sure that people don't feel threatened and take drastic actions against me. I didn't have a backing in the magical world who can help me fight against them so I had to resort to this. In reality my magical strength is on par with my magical knowledge. I could go write my OWLs today and get Outstanding in all my subjects."

Everything I told him was the truth even though I hid my true level. But this was enough to satisfy him since his expectations were very low. Even though he was dying, there was no way I was going to tell him my true strength. It was always good to hide some of your true strength even from your close allies as you may never know what will happen in the future.

Black laughed loudly and said "It seems that the risk I took paid off. If what you are telling is true, then I am assured about the future of the Black family. Your decision to hide your strength was the right one. If people know about this, then both Light and Dark side would have tried everything to either bring you to their side or kill you to get rid of any future threat. What else are you hiding from me?"

I replied "I know a little pit of healing too. Your condition is suspicious, Grandfather. Can I cast charms and check what illness you have?"

He nodded. I cast Diagnostic spells on him and what I learned was troubling.

I asked "Did you go to St. Mungo's and get yourself checked?"

Black "No I did not. I was diagnosed with the disease by a  healer who is a close friend and classmate from Hogwarts. What's wrong?"

I replied "You don't have an illness grandfather. You have been poisoned. The poison was given in very low doses over the course of some years and has spread to all parts of your body. It seems your healer is responsible for this as the poison is very easy to detect and he has allowed your condition to deteriorate to the extreme level."

He was furious after hearing my diagnosis. He asked "Are you sure? He has been my personal healer and close friend for many years. So I trusted his diagnosis. He said that going outside in my condition would deteriorate my illness further. So I did not go out to get a second opinion. It should have caused suspicion now that I think about it. What is the condition of my body?"

I replied "The poison has spread everywhere so I don't have the skills to remove the poison from your body. I would recommend going to St. Mungo's and see if they can treat you."

According to my estimations, he has only a few days left to live. It was expected since in the canon he died this year. My decision to not wait for holidays to visit was a good one.  

Black "I will call a healer from St. Mungo's to come here and try to treat me. But after hearing that the poison has spread everywhere I don't think I have much hope. I just don't understand why my friend would even do this to me? He has nothing to from my death."

I asked "Maybe he was threatened or bribed by Lucius Malfoy or Cygnus Black. They might have thought that after your death, they will gain control of the Black Fortunes." 

Black "You are probably right but I don't think he was threatened. I could have easily helped him if that was the case. I think they bribed him. It makes so much sense now. It is the reason why he always spoke highly of Lucius in our conversations. He knew that I was searching for an Heir so he was trying to influence me to choose Lucius's boy. He also tried to stop my search by citing my declining health. I will make him pay for betraying my trust."

I said "If Malfoy is behind this, I don't think you should go to St. Mungo's. He may have informants there who can warn him about your visit. I think it is better if you see Master healers from other countries."

I had another reason for this suggestion. According to my knowledge, poisoning at this stage was not treatable. But since my knowledge is based on Britain's books, it might be possible that maybe other country's healers are more advanced and have the skill to treat him.

Black "That is possible. I will see what I can do about the healer problem." 

I asked "What is the name of the Healer friend? I will make sure that his descendants don't have easy lives and curse him for it."

Black "His name is Corvus Selwyn. Do what you want with that information. I think it is better for you to go back to Hogwarts now. I have a lot of work to do to make sure that my enemies do not get any benefits due to my death. I have to quickly change my Will. Elgar will apparate you back to Hogwarts."

Not many people are left in the Selwyn and I think they supported Voldemort. I won't kill them all as I did not want the family to become extinct but I will make sure that Corvus Selwyn's descendants will not have an easy life. 

I replied "Okay. Bye grandfather. Take care. Keep me informed about your health. I will try to come here whenever I can."

I gave him a hug during the goodbye because I was not sure if I will be able to see him again. I cannot visit him before the next Hogsmeade weekend and he may not be alive then. 

I then turned towards Elgar and said "Elgar take me to a secluded area in Hogsmeade near the Forbidden forest."

Elgar replied "Yes, Young Master."

He then popped me back to Hogwarts. I told him to inform me when grandfather's condition becomes serious and said goodbye. I made the Black Heir ring invisible and made my way back to Hogwarts. My absence did not cause any problems because my friends were used to me disappearing for long times. They did not ask me where I went during those times since they knew that everyone had their secrets.

I spent only a few hours at Black Castle and there was still a lot of time left before night so I decided to go to the library to read some books. I was worried about grandfather but there was nothing I could do to help him.

Tess and Jake's adopted daughter, Aara was 14. The girl was growing into a spectacular exotic beauty. Born in Iraq, she was delicate, with lustrous black hair, huge brown eyes, olive skin, and refined social manners that set her apart from the other kids in school. She was also highly intelligent, spoke English, French, Turkish and Arabic fluently and was obsessed with books. Because she was shy and her talents were intimidating, she did not have many friends.
Aara adored Tess and Jake. Unfortunately, they had to travel extensively on missions for their military company. Aara missed them and became increasingly withdrawn and depressed. She was going to a private school in New York City. Carol, who had been little Morgan's nanny and a personal bodyguard that drove her to classes generally looked after her. When Tess and Jake were away, Aara lived with Tess's father, General Turner. He was very fond of the child, but she always reminded him of little Morgan, the grandson he adored and tragically lost.
One day, the bodyguard was stuck in a traffic jam due to an accident, and he was not able to pick up Aara as she left the school. Restless, she did not follow the rule; go to the principal's office to wait for pickup. Instead, she sat on a bench in front of the school. Here, she was approached by Jorge Lopez, a senior at the same school.
Jorge was friendly and very handsome. He sat with her and overcame her shyness by talking about things in general. He shared his dreams of travel and someday getting his own apartment. He also told her that he also had absentee parents that did not pay much attention to him. Soon, Aara opened up and shared the same sentiments. Jorge declared that this meant they were soulmates and that sometime soon they should become a pair. Aara was just 14 years old and did not consider such a proposal very seriously. Over a couple of weeks, Jorge made it a point to seek her out during school breaks, and continued to probe her teenage angst and unhappiness. He kept telling her about his increasing attraction to her. He then wove a tale that he was going to graduate in a couple of weeks, and that he wanted her to go with him to Houston where they would find an apartment and live happy forever after.
Aara was unhappy about the prolonged absences of her step-parents and was going through the confusion and turmoil of growing up. However, being highly intelligent, she detected that there was something about Jorge that didn't add up. Yes, he was handsome and charming, but why would he be interested in a much younger girl? She also observed him talking to other girls, also much younger than himself.
On the day before graduation, Jorge declared his undying love for Aara and begged her to go with him the next day. Aara was not convinced. She loved her parents and knew that they had gone through hell to adopt her, so when they got home she told Tess and Jake about what Jorge was trying to do.
When she was confronted by threats, Tess had trouble controlling her temper. In many ways, she was like an awakening volcano, the anger gradually building up until she finally exploded. Jake knew her very well and did what usually worked — he hugged her to calm her down a bit. He then talked to Aara. "Sweetie, who is this boy? Did you ever see him in class? Does he talk to other girls as well?"
Aara told them everything, including Jorge's insistence that they should run away together. Tess hugged her, not wanting to let her go, and Jake dialed the school on the phone insisting that he wished to see the principal in the morning. Then he called Joe Slezak in the IT department and asked him to do some stuff for him.
Tess and Jake showed up at the appointed time and asked the school principal if he knew anything about Jorge. The principal just knew that the boy was a senior about to graduate. His family had legally emigrated from Colombia and worked for a supermarket chain.
Tess got to the point. "We have reason to believe that this young man is trying to get young girls to leave their parents and go with him out of state."
The principal appeared reluctant to take any action, citing lack of evidence. Jake then presented him with the finding of a preliminary investigation conducted by his firm. "Isn't it true that three girls, students of this institution, ran away and were never seen again?"
"Yes, but it does not mean that there was any coercion or that Jorge had anything to do with it. Teenage girls are high-strung and do stupid things sometimes."
"Did the police get involved?"
"Yes, they looked into it but they couldn't find anything, so they just put the cases on the back burner. They stated that they had too many instances of missing children and that they didn't have the resources to follow up on all of them."
"What about the parents?"
"They are obviously upset and heartbroken, but they haven't been able to find the kids."
Tess stood up. "Thank you very much, Sir. We will be in touch."
Jake and Tess drove back to the office and picked up Ken Ross at the curb. Ken was a skilled sniper who had joined SRD early on. He went on many missions and soon became one of the key managers. He was very resourceful, tough, smart, and could always be trusted in difficult situations.

Amir persuades Tess to spend time with him in France and England in exchange for what she is seeking. Here she meets Fadime, his alluring and decadent sister. In the end, Amir deceives Tess. She returns to Iraq, flying dangerous missions and rescuing wounded soldiers. An unforeseen event changes everything.


After the spa session, Hadwin, Astrid and Abigail were ushered to a low lit room, with lemongrass scent in the air. Abigail decided to choose a room each, to prevent Ace from poking his nose while they were being massaged. She did not know he had left the spa already.


What she fails to understand was the fact that he kept his relationship under wraps. Why would Ace do that? She wondered. He seldom hid his relationship, but could it be due to his reputation in business or he had something else in mind? With her wandering thoughts came a dull headache and Abigail sighed. She closed her eyes and told her masseuse to increase her pressure.


After an hour and half, all of them exited Bliss Spa with considerable glow in their body. Astrid wondered why there wasn't any payment charged and she asked out of curiosity. `Aren't we going to pay them?'


`No. It belongs to us' Hadwin smirked at her.


`Shall we hit the shopping centre after this?', Abigail suggested.


`No, I want raid some games in the basement room', Hadwin replied.


`Count me in. I'm dibs with anything you play', Astrid squeezed his arms in agreement.


`That's my girl', Hadwin high fived Astrid who merely shook her head.


`I'm most certainly not your girl. I am just me, Hadwin', Astrid explained while rolling her eyes.


`Say, I am inviting some friends over. Are you guys okay with it?', Hadwin sat in Abigail's Rolls Royce which had been repaired to perfection.


`Yeah, the more the merrier I guess', Astrid looked at her phone and bit her lower lips. Her hands itched to call Ace. She missed his warmth already. She decided to text him instead.
Astrid: Don't overwork yourself. With da mole.
Ace: Kicking & boxing is x overworking.
Astrid: I knew u would do dat.
Ace: But u don't know what I have in mind for u tni8.
Astrid: Lace or plain?
Ace: None.
Astrid: Not happening.
Ace: Lace.
Astrid's cheeks turned red at his texts and she quickly diverted her perverted mind elsewhere. She needs to get hold of herself before she loses it completely. Astrid started thinking about the books given by her grandfather, mentally deciding to finish on the last one.


She had learned considerable skills in invoking and controlling her wind elements. Since there were not any mentor available for Earth element, she studied and memorized the books related to it. She had yet to test the theories out, but it was a matter of time before she did.

In the meantime, in another part of Anubia, on Maxim Street. Alex was shortlisting the guests lists for his parent's anniversary. He roped in his group of friends and acquaintances, some vampires, and humans to visit him and blow off some steam.


Alex was pissed when his father assigned him to oversee the guest lists. He had zero knowledge on who was dating whom, who was the bitch of the month and who was the flavour of the month; and he needed gossip from his group of oddballs. Being a shy person did not hamper his ability to make friends with the same gender. But the same did not apply when mingling with the opposite sex.


Alex Mann only had 2 friends whom he held close at heart, Matilda Meyer and Josef Mourinho. As soon as the clock struck 1pm, some loud noises emerged from the foyer of his mansion. He waited for them in the drawing room, anger gnawing internally for doing this shit when he could paint in peace.


Six men barrelled into the drawing room, their boisterous voice booming over the room.


`Hey, how are you guys doing?', Alex spoke politely earning a bro hug from them. He did some complex hand shake with them, something he used to do when he was in UCLA with them.


`So I heard you needed help with getting some pussy?', Miller Smith spoke arrogantly.


`No, I needed some hot gossip. Don't want any seat clashes later', Alex rolled his eyes at Miller's brashness. He always hated him for his sexist attitude.


`I heard Jane Cantrall is the current 'IT' girl if you are looking for a date', Dustin King spoke. He was the most likeable guy, less talk and quite observant.


`No dates for me', Alex said firmly.


`Did you know Christina Jobs screwed Miller's younger brother before she was to get engaged to Joshua Edwards?', Brody Baker spoke. He was the tallest of them all at 6ft 6inches, intimidating and he is the quarterback of Anubia's football team.


`Yeah, shit happens. And she is elder than my brother', Miller sulked.


`Let me see your guests list, Alex. Maybe I can help you out', Dustin requested, and Alex passed him the guest list and seating chart


While Dustin read the list, Alex, Brody, Miller, Jake, Pete, and Luciano bantered with each other with their current girl conquests.


`I am going steady with a model. She is hot in both looks and bed', Luciano Perez spoke with a dreamy look in his eyes.


`Lover boy is gone with the wind', Pete punched Luciano on his shoulder lightly.


` We are seating on the same table, right?', Brody asked.


`Yeah, but a table fits 12 people', Dustin said, keeping his eyes glued on the lists and highlighting names that could sit together without tearing each other apart.


`Avoid Jane Dixon with the Wagner's. Apparently, the elder Wagner was set up with her and he brought a girlfriend. She turned ape shit and had a verbal fight', Pete spoke.


`No shit. I thought he turned gay', Brody was surprised.


`Did they RSVP? You should get their sister Abigail. One heck of a beauty', Miller gave a low whistle.


`I think their parents, Abigail, Hadwin and his date will be coming', Alex wondered if Astrid was Hadwin's date.


Alex mentally recalled the Forbes List of Richest in Anubia. The Wagner's stood at third richest in Anubia with the Scott's coming in first. Dustin's family came behind Wagner's at fifth and Alex's came at fourth place. The Baker's came in second but the rarely met up at any parties or events citing their Mormon beliefs. But when did Mormon started hoarding money was beyond his imagination.


A butler entered the drawing room with refreshments and drinks.


`Did you invite Damien Scott? He is like the richest guy of Anubia and his band of brothers are a force to be reckoned with', Miller spoke in between mouth full of pineapple.


`I think we did but only the youngest one, Jaxon Scott RSVP. No one else bothered', Alex shrugged.


`Damn, what about the Mormons?', Pete asked.


`Too busy making kids I think. Never bother to invite them', Alex smirked.


`Alex, you need help in the pussy department?', Miller was crass and blunt.


Alex's cheek turned pink and he shook his head.


`Come on, name her', Brody touted.


`Miller here has had a winning streak since high school.', Pete and Brody both grabbed a doughnut at the same time and fought over it like children. Dustin stood up and slapped their heads to reprimand them.


`No, not really. There was one girl I liked, and she actually rejected me', Miller Smith spoke the truth and stared at his chocolate drink. His mind went to his flashback.


`Wow, that is some revelation', Luciano raised an eyebrow.


`Yep. I courted her. She was one of those loner types, but a beauty, nevertheless', Miller did not take the rejection well back in high school. After she left school, he could not trace her. The principal punished him lightly but protected the girl's new school information.


Miller had a raging hatred for Astrid ever since. His ego was dented by her and if by chance he met her, he would have his ways with her whether she liked it or not.


`Bitch kicked my balls and left me', Miller spoke after a moment of silence. Alex noted his eyes glinted with something evil before it flickered away.

A modern city where both humans and vampires live in relative harmony until a mutation threatens to ripple the balance. Will both brother still fight for the very person who could be their death or turn it into their saviour? Whom will Astrid choose?

Astrid drank the warm lemon honey water and stared at his chest again. She could not help herself but ask, `The words on your chest. What does it mean?’

`Show me?’ Ace smirked.

Astrid knew what he was doing, and she played along. Her fingers trailed to the Japanese words and stopped there.

`Zephyr belongs to me.’ He muttered.

`And this?’, Astrid spoke softly, her fingers moving to the opposite direction. 

`Divine, precious lady. Time for action now’. He grabbed her fingers and started kissing each, starting from the base to their tips, maintaining his eye contact with her. It was so sensual and stimulating, his soft lips kissing as if her fingers were her lips. Astrid felt butterflies fluttering in her stomach. Her left hand unconsciously, touch his face and he leaned on her hands, she mustered enough courage to prevent her mind from going into an overdrive of sentiments, and uttered `I need to pee’.

Ace chuckled and smooched her cheek.
