Poem I was forced to write for English Class

A short story inspired by an old Chinese poem A Song of Yue Person and a history record dated back from around 500 BC,

This story in the historical record only consisted of a few lines. But the romance between the Yue girl who sang the song and Lord Ejun has been immortalized for more than two thousand years because of her poem.

A chivalrous adventure fiction based on romanticized historical events in  the Spring and Autum and The Warring States Era of ancient China. The story is written from the perspective of the immortal peoples - Ying, Xuanye and Yue Maiden,  who lived, experienced, and recorded the history. 

Book 1 :
Yue Maiden saved a fugitive prince from Chu State who fled from a rebellion. The unlikely romance happened between them, and for thirteen years they lived happily.   Her love story and poem are immortalized forever in history. 

Book 2:
The story is about Ying the immortal who helped King Goujian of Yue to conquer the Wu State and wiped it off the map forever.  A  story of a beautiful young girl who turned into a sword forger who took a vow to be a sword of justice. 

Book 3:
Xuanye - the handsome and righteous immortal who became an immortal during the rebellion that toppled the Western Zhou Dynasty. He then helped the legitimate ruler and friends to found the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, and the Vassal State of Qin.

Huang Xuan felt bad luck. He had caused a mess with a spring water bottle, and the girl before him had been the direct victim. He hadn’t recognized her, but now his smile had given him away.
Paulino was teaching the class passionately. Huang Xuan shrank his head and asked in English, “You are?”
“Galatea.” She smiled again. Her eyes and brows all turned into new moons.
With Rolin’s help, Huang Xuan responded quickly, “The Goddess of the calm seas?”
Galatea was the name a Greek sculptor gave to his best sculpture. Later, he fell in love with Galatea, but when Galatea woke up, she regarded the sculptor as her father. Many suitors fought for her or even for just one look at her. The kind Galatea cried so much that she became blind. She thought she didn’t deserve to have come to the world, so she jumped into the river one evening and killed herself. After her death, she was called “The Goddess of the calm seas”.
Rolin had explained the meaning of the name as plainly as he could. Huang Xuan thought that Rolin’s chatter had never been so useful as right now.
Galatea was surprised. In Greece, her name could be understood by many people, but now it was Brazil, and the teenager who was even younger than herself wasn’t even a westerner. 
At this moment, Paulino was teaching the Spanish wording structure. Huang Xuan said in a low voice,
 “We missed each other, and you decided to look beside,
“The blue eyes just passing by are looking at you,
“From the moment I saw you,
“The glimpse, the silence.”
Although the intonation was jerky, Galatea was smiling, showing her white teeth.
The Chinese writer Li Ao had once said that when a man saw a beautiful woman, all his body parts became soft except one. It was such a simple thought. Huang Xuan wasn’t a grown-up yet, but he thought he had become a man. Now the fact spoke louder.
“I am Huang Xuan,” the “man” introduced himself slowly in English.
“I understand Spanish.” Galatea seemed to have forgotten what had happened at the airport. “We can communicate in Spanish.”
Huang Xuan shrugged. Finally, he saw the importance of languages Rolin had been talking about, but he barely knew anything about Spanish. 
“I…” he squeezed out in English.
Then he shut up again. Galatea craned his neck, with her hair hanging down softly. 
“Rolin, can you help me learn foreign languages really fast?”
Rolin complimented Huang Xuan on his spirit. “There are no such ways. Even when the base reaches level 21, it will still need two months.”
That gave Huang Xuan something to expect in the future. He decided to give Galatea a good impression first. He looked at his phone, stood up and said, “Sorry.” Then he rushed out from the back door.
On his way home, he kept reminding Rolin, “Remember Galatea’s looks and then tell me her phone number.”
“No problem,” Rolin gave a pleasant answer.
Huang Xuan decided to work hard on foreign languages. It occurred to him that he didn’t even know where Galatea came from.
Huang Xuan wasn’t used to cutting school. He sat there, panting. He wanted to do something, anything, but his mind was in a mess. He just sat there, absent-minded, until dinner was ready.
“Rolin, should I write her a letter?” 
“To whom?”
“Galatea!” Huang Xuan pronounced that name smoothly.
“That will be a love letter,” Rolin said honestly. Huang Xuan’s face went pink. He mumbled something and started writing. Then came the problem. Since he had never written a love letter before, and he wasn’t good at writing, writing a love letter to a foreigner seemed beyond him.
“Hey, any good ideas?” He had to ask Rolin for help.
“What?” 
“The love letter. Do you know how to write one?”
“No,” Rolin said bluntly.
“I am hurt. I can’t believe you refused to help me when I need you so much,” Huang Xuan pretended to grieve.
Rolin didn’t fall for it but still offered his help: “I suggest you translate an ancient Chinese love poem.”
“Poem?” Poems were good. His father loved literature. Huang Xuan nodded his head in satisfaction. “But which one to translate?”
“An Ode to the Goddess of the Luo River by Cao Zhi1,” Saying this, Rolin started translating it and displayed the Chinese and Greek versions to Huang Xuan by energy projection. Meanwhile, he read in a low voice,
“She has a thin neck and fair skin,
She doesn’t wear make-up and ties her hair up high,
Her eyebrows curve slightly,
Her lips are red and her teeth white, 
Her eyes are sparkling,
With dimples in her cheeks, she is so beautiful and elegant,
She speaks gently and charmingly…”
Although Huang Xuan had heard the story that Cao Zhi had been able to write a poem when he had been seven years old, he had never heard of An Ode to the Goddess of the Luo River. He had spent most of his time fooling around with Liu Penggang.
Even though he didn’t get it, the poem moved Huang Xuan. Art was similar. Whoever could appreciate beauty could do art too.
Rolin was imitating Huang Xuan’s tone as he read the poem. Then he started to read the Greek Version of it, which had been translated beautifully in a classical style. It sounded uncertain, misty, and as peaceful as the moonlight.
Huang Xuan was lost for a minute. When Rolin finished reading, he asked, “Will she believe that I wrote it?”
“She doesn’t know you. As long as you possess this quality when you see her again, it is yours.”
Huang Xuan was encouraged, but he knew himself well. Not to mention writing a poem in Greek, he could barely write an article in Chinese. He couldn’t even finish a composition in months. He didn’t understand why Rolin had insisted on letting him learn foreign languages.
He spread his hands and said, “Fine, I will learn Greek from you, but I can stop it anytime.”
“OK,” Rolin agreed, as long as Huang Xuan was willing to take the first step.
“When shall we begin?”
“The upgrade of the base to level 21 will take about one week. Just wait.”

The rodent repellant properties of Narcissus alkaloids have been utilised in horticulture to protect more vulnerable bulbs.

In the West, the narcissus is perceived as a symbol of vanity, in the East as a symbol of wealth and good fortune, while in Persian literature, the narcissus is a symbol of beautiful eyes.

Western Culture
In western culture, the daffodil is also associated with spring festivals such as Lent and its successor Easter. In Germany, the wild narcissus, N. pseudonarcissus, is known as the Osterglocke or "Easter bell." In the United Kingdom, the daffodil is sometimes referred to as the Lenten lily.

Although prized as an ornamental flower, some people consider narcissi unlucky, because they hang their heads implying misfortune. White narcissi, such as N triandrus "Thalia", are especially associated with death and have been called grave flowers. In Ancient Greece, narcissi were planted near tombs, and Robert Herrick describes them as portents of death, an association which also appears in the myth of Persephone and the underworld. 

.The poet Ovid also dealt with the mythology of the narcissus. In his Metamorphoses, he recounts the story of the youth Narcissus who, after his death, is turned into the flower, and it is also mentioned in Book 5 of his poem Fasti. This theme of metamorphosis was broader than just Narcissus; for instance see crocus, laurel, and hyacinth

"The poem I will recite now about myself, you must all have read in your English class. It was written by William Wordsworth."

I wandered lonely as a Cloud
That floats on high o'er Vales and Hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd
A host of dancing Daffodils;
Along the Lake, beneath the trees,
Ten thousand dancing in the breeze.

The waves beside them danced, but they
Outdid the sparkling waves in glee: –
A poet could not but be gay
In such a laughing company:
I gazed – and gazed – but little thought
What wealth the shew to me had brought:

For oft when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye

Although there is no clear evidence that the flower's name derives directly from the Greek myth, this link between the flower and the myth became firmly part of western culture. The narcissus or daffodil is the most loved of all English plants and appears frequently in English literature. Many English writers have referred to the cultural and symbolic importance of Narcissus. No flower has received more poetic description except the rose and the lily, with poems by authors from John Gower, Shakespeare, Milton, Wordsworth, Shelley, and Keats. Frequently the poems deal with self-love derived from Ovid's account. Gower's reference to the yellow flower of the legend has been assumed to be the daffodil or Narcissus, 

Shakespeare frequently uses flower imagery, refers to daffodils twice in The Winter's Tale and also The Two Noble Kinsmen. Robert Herrick alludes to their association with death in a number of poems. Among the English romantic movement writers, none is better known than William Wordsworth's short 1804 poem I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud which has become linked in the popular mind with the daffodils that form its main image. Wordsworth also included the daffodil in other poems. Keats refers to daffodils among those things capable of bringing "joy forever".

In the visual arts, narcissi are depicted in three different contexts, mythological (Narcissus, Persephone), floral art, or landscapes. 

Eastern cultures
In Chinese culture Narcissus tazetta subsp. chinensis (Chinese sacred lilies), which can be grown indoors, is widely used as an ornamental plant. It was probably introduced to China by Arab traders traveling the Silk Road prior to the Song Dynasty for medicinal use. Spring-flowering, they became associated with Chinese New Year, signifying good fortune.

In India, the daffodil is commonly known as Nargis or Yemberzal (in Kashmiri). The importance of this flower for the Kashmiri people and other mountain regions is that it declares the arrival of Spring after the long harsh months of Winter. This white petalled beauty is also considered a symbol of good health and prosperity. A popular Kashmiri folk song, derived from the first-ever Kashmiri opera performed- Bombur ta Yemberzal, is illustrative of the love story of the Narcissus (Yemberzal) and the Bumble Bee (Bombur)

Festivals
In some areas where narcissi are prevalent, their blooming in spring is celebrated in festivals. 

Commercial uses
Throughout history the scent of narcissi has been an important ingredient of perfumes, a quality that comes from essential oils rather than alkaloids. Narcissi are also an important horticultural crop and source of cut flowers (floriculture).The Netherlands, which is the most important source of flower bulbs worldwide is also a major centre of narcissus production.

The largest Daffodil plant waving its flowery head and said that this was all that he could say. 
If more information, is needed then the children can go home and search the internet to get a lot of information or they can go to a horticulture expert who will tell them a lot of things.

The daffodil then said that it would be getting to be evening soon and as soon as the sun goes down and they switch over to sleeping/resting/ respiratory mode. Hence, they cannot answer any questions. Tomorrow, when the sun comes then the plants, trees animals, birds, etc. will be in a position to answer your questions.

The Daffodil asked if there were any other questions. We did not have any was the reply given by Chris.

Our 4 flying cars had parked on the grass and when the drivers saw that we were ready to leave,  the cars glided towards us hovering a few inches above the grass. Zen again wondered what sort of fuel was being used by the flying cars, it must be environment-friendly, as the cars did not seem to emit any smoke. They bid thanks and bye to the grass, the lake and the Daffodils saying they will come again tomorrow to get information about the birds, frogs, fish, trees, squirrels, butterflies, etc.

What would happen if you got stuck in Time?

Zia has completed her Ph.D. in Botany and has applied for the post of lecturer/ Professor. She joins a High school as a temporary teacher and is entrusted with the task of leading a group of students on a trekking /camping expedition. 

On the way they meet a guy who seems to be a trouble maker but later, he proves to be a pillar of strength. Early morning their camp is attacked and they flee taking a different route. But they are lost.

They enter a world where people are living, in hiding, for over 250 years. Their technology is much advanced as compared to ours. Their world was initially a Utopia but now it is changing due to an oppressive ruler.

They are trapped in the time of this hidden world and want to help the people there fight against the oppressive ruler and his cronies. The oppressive ruler wants to make a number of Time Machines by using the brains of the scientists who had died in harness at the site of the experiments. 

They all decide to help the good citizens of the lost world. The huge brains are destroyed and the Orbs of the scientists escape to help the rest in their mission. 

In the process, the crystals that are used in the hypnotizing guns are almost finished and to get more they split up to go to the 'Magical World' through a curtain which is a portal. The Magical World is a flat  man made Earth-like satellite, which was made as a joke to taunt the scientists 7000 years ago, and which is still operational. Here they meet the inhabitants.  They are fascinated with the advancement of science especially the talking chips and the flying cars.They see a completely different world where animals, plants, rocks, water etc can talk. Before you touch anything you need to seek permission.

They also meet the Aliens called the 'Crocodile Race' who have come to the Magical World (the flat satellite) to get supplies. They see spaceships being guided to land by the scientists of the Magical World.

At present they are narrating to the Aliens, what they have undergone till date. 

Read on to experience their adventures, their fears, and their courage, to deal with various situations and how, after meandering through various secret passageways, encountering adventures, they finally come back to their time.

Trying to post a chapter in a week now.

Kazuma was oblivious to the conversation between those two old men in the kabuki.
He still had one last lesson left.
Because of the incident that morning, Kazuma was very unhappy with Yamada Yoichi. Hence, he was paying particular attention during class today.
Although he felt that the exams in Japan were simpler compared to China's National College Entrance Examination, the problem was that he did not transmigrate immediately after his high school graduation.
It had been many years since he sat for the National College Entrance Exam.
Hence, trying to get into Tokyo University without a refresher was like a fool's dream.
Therefore, he had to listen attentively.
Kazuma felt weird when he thought about how he had just beaten up a yakuza boss yet was now paying attention in class and taking notes like a model student.
During the break, the news that the student with the poorest grades from Class 3B was applying to Tokyo University had spread throughout the entire third grade. Kazuma would attract curious looks even when he was going to the washroom.
The instigator of all this, Yamada Yoichi, even ran to Kazuma's side as soon as lessons ended. He chatted loudly with his small clique, saying things like, "Sigh, last time, I got a deviation value of *** during the mock exam at my cram school, but even this deviation value might not get me into Tokyo University, so I could only settle for the second best."
And so on.
Kazuma wanted to pick up his bamboo sword and slam it on Yamada's face.
However, on second thought, Kazuma should defeat him academically since Yamada was mocking his grades.
Once the results were out, Kazuma would wrap his exam slip that would have a higher score than Yamada's on his bamboo sword and give him a hard slap on the head.
So Kazuma decided to swallow his pride for now.
Right now, the yakuza was still observing the situation. Although he did not know how long they would be watching, there should be a period of relative peace. He had to take this opportunity to get used to the pace of Japanese education. The time outside the classroom should be used to practice kendo, so he probably would not have much time to study outside the school. He could only work harder in class.
However, Kazuma would gladly accept any opportunity to show off his intelligence and deal a blow to Yamada's arrogance.
He had never looked forward to an exam so much.
He hoped the next test was on Mathematics or English.
Japanese History would be fine too. Kazuma was quite familiar with Japan's history, especially the Warring States Period.
But please, no Japanese language exams.
Similar to the original Kiryuu Kazuma, the current Kazuma's Japanese was the worst in class.
After all, in his previous life, Kazuma was only a beginner in the Japanese language. He knew only simple words like "big brother" and "let's go."
However, there was only one last lesson left today. It seemed like the plan of mocking Yamada back with the results of class quizzes was going to fail today.
After the bell rang, Kazuma looked out of the window and imagined for the umpteenth time when Tokyo University would send out their offers.
The enrollment of Japanese universities was very different from that in China.
To get into a university in Japan, one had to pass an exam in January that's similar to the high school graduation exam. It's called the National University Entrance Exam.
Only those who had reached the cut-off point for this exam would then be qualified to apply to the school they wanted to study in.
The real test was after the application. The target universities would set their own papers and exam venues for their candidates.
All public and national universities would set their exams on the same day. Therefore, strictly speaking, you could only apply to one Japanese university. If you went to sit for the Tokyo University exam, it would be impossible for you to take the exams for another national university.
Therefore, it would not be possible to choose a lower-grade university as a backup plan like what people did in China, and the only choice left would be private schools. In theory, one could never choose national or public universities as their backup plan.
However, the tuition fees of Japan's private universities were terrifying.
The Kiryuu family might not even be able to afford to send Kazuma to a national university. If he were to go to a private school… Chiyoko would have to sell herself.
Although Chiyoko was the cause of the series of trouble that the Kiryuu family was facing now, Kazuma had already beaten her up, which had made her reflect deeply on her mistakes. Yesterday, the two siblings had even fought side by side, and judging from the results, Chiyoko had saved Kazuma's life yesterday.
Therefore, Kazuma did not want such a good sister to encounter anything terrible.
The past was irreversible, so Kazuma decided to consider how to achieve the best result in the current situation.
Sell the dojo, take the money to invest, and then get into Tokyo University using his own abilities—this was the best solution.
After graduating from Tokyo University, Kazuma would be a newly-promoted member of the upper class.
In order to achieve this optimal solution, Kazuma had to be strong in both kendo and academics.
Just when Kazuma had made up his mind, the English teacher entered the classroom.
Kazuma was delighted when he saw the stack of papers in the English teacher's hands.
A class quiz!
The English teacher put down the stack of papers and adjusted his spectacles. "Let's do a small quiz today. I'll give you until the end of the class. Class representative, come, distribute the papers."
The class rep stood up and walked to the podium. She took the papers and began to distribute them.
Kazuma was already rubbing his hands together excitedly.
After all, he had been a senior commercial representative of a foreign trade company in his previous life! Bragging about his company's products to foreigners was his daily work.
Speaking English was the basic requirement of his job. His performance award and year-end bonus depended on it.
Kazuma soon received the paper.
He took a quick glance and grinned.
At this moment, he heard Yamada mumbling to his table partner, "The worst student in the class laughed when he saw the paper. Did he give up because he can't answer a single question?"
"I don't think so. Maybe he has just encountered some similar questions before."
Kazuma ignored them and picked up his pen to write.
Time passed quickly. When Kazuma filled in the last blank on the paper, he looked up at the clock on the wall. There were still more than ten minutes left before the end of the class.
Kazuma wanted to submit the paper and leave. Whether it was in university or high school, Kazuma had always liked to hand in the paper immediately after finishing it. That's because for some reason, if he turned back to check his answers, he would often change the correct answers to the wrong ones, so it was better not to check.
Just as Kazuma was about to stand up, slap the papers on the podium, and leave, he thought of something.
This was Japan. Although you could hand in your papers in advance, it would make your teachers and classmates think that there was something wrong with you.
Hence, Kazuma decided to take a nap on the table.
Not long after he rested his head on the table, he was knocked over the head by the teacher. "Kiryuu-kun! Please take the quiz seriously!"
Kazuma got up, glanced at the teacher, and smiled. "I am taking it seriously. I've finished the paper."
The teacher frowned and glared at Kazuma while Kazuma looked back at him honestly.
He picked up Kazuma's script suspiciously and started to read from the first question…
Then, Kazuma saw a note appear above the English teacher's head: "Daydream."
After he focused his attention on the note, the description went: "I must be dreaming."
'What the f*ck, how stupid was the original owner of this body? Look at how scared the teacher is. He is doubting his life.'
The English teacher took less than a minute to look through all his answers. It was not that his reading speed was fast, but the paper itself was very short.
Kazuma had already gotten used to the super long papers in his past life that could be folded several times and were densely packed with words.
Japanese test papers were A3 in size, and the print was huge.
Kazuma had finished answering the questions quickly, and the teacher read them quickly.
The English teacher put the paper back in front of Kazuma and turned to look at the paper of the girl on Kazuma's right-hand side. To be fair, the girl was in the best position if Kazuma wanted to copy the answers.
However, the girl had not finished writing. Obviously, Kazuma could not have copied her answers.
The English teacher turned to Kazuma and asked seriously, "Did you… attend a cram school during the winter break?"
When Kazuma was about to share the story he had just made up to explain why he suddenly became smart, the teacher shook his head. "No, no cram school lesson can produce such huge progress. You…"
Kazuma was now excited to hear how this teacher would comment on his totally different English level.
However, it was apparent that the teacher was at a loss for words.
"You… Uh… You did well," the teacher said. "But to prove that you didn't rely on any external help in doing this paper, I want you to translate what I say."
Then, the teacher spoke with a strong Japanese accent.
Kazuma frowned.
He heard Yamada laugh loudly.
Perhaps the core member of this class thought that Kazuma was going to make a fool of himself.
Kazuma was also embarrassed.
His English was very strong, especially his speaking skills. However, the problem was that the Japanese accent was too hard to understand.
In Japan, English teachers used Japanese pronunciations to "localize" English words. This was to reduce the difficulty of learning English.
Anyone who had watched Jet Li's version of "Wong Fei Hung" would know a meme called "Ai Laohu Yo[1]," which was actually "I love you" but in a weird Chinese accent.
As an analogy for the Japanese English education system, they had used "Ai Laohu Yo" as the standard pronunciation.
In his past life, Kazuma was able to chat with foreigners fluently, but he couldn't understand what this English teacher was saying at all.
The only thing that he managed to catch was the last sentence, which seemed to be about a shining star…
Yamada shouted, "Sensei, don't make things difficult for him. You spoke too fast, even I can't understand…"
The class rep chided, "Yamada! We are still having class. Don't be so loud!"
Kazuma glanced at the class rep and could not help but exclaim, 'She's such a beauty… Hold up!'
Kazuma was inspired.
When he saw the class rep this morning, he'd tried to recite a poem to describe her beauty and see if it could give him a buff.
Reciting poems?
Could it be an English poem that the teacher had just recited with those strange intonations?
A shining star? Perhaps the last word was "winter's midnight"?
Thou wert as a lone star, whose light did shine
On some frail bark in winter's midnight roar.
This was Shelley's "To Wordsworth," the favorite piece of any young man who wanted to show off his literary acumen.
Even though Kazuma looked dull and unrefined after becoming a senior commercial representative, who had not pretended that they loved literature when they were young?
So Kazuma cleared his throat and recited what the teacher had just said in standard American English.
In fact, he wanted to recite the full poem to show off, but unfortunately, Kazuma only remembered the most famous line and the line before and after it.
After reciting it, Kazuma looked at the note above his teacher's head and realized that the "Daydream" note was gone. Instead, it was now "Ashamed."
'Eh? Did I overdo it? I should restrain myself and not embarrass my teacher too much…'
However, with that thought in mind, Kazuma opened his mouth and said, "Sensei, your pronunciation was not good. It took me a lot of effort to recognize that it was Shelley's poem."

Tired of the rat race of the 21st century, Wang Jian transmigrates to 1980, hoping to start his life anew and seek his fortune.

Chen Guang called out to him, "Hey, why didn't you change your clothes? You're still wearing those Chinese clothes!"

Chen Guang and Zhao Wuliu came over to join the others.

Zhang Ye found this ridiculous and sighed.
Thinking back to the prosperous Great Tang, how mighty was China back then?

A deafening melody filled the arena. It was a melody that carried a strong feel of heavy metal in it as it stirred everyone who heard it up in surprise. All of them raised their heads and stared straight in a stunned manner at Zhang Ye who was up on stage!
The sound of the bass came in.
The drums started playing as well!
The melody's pitch was getting higher and higher!
Zhang Ye's face had a reminiscent look on it. He suddenly shut his eyes and a voice that was heavily laced with a sense of heavy metal suddenly rang out across the venue. The moment he opened his mouth, the entire audience at the venue exclaimed. The foreign Chinese students were dumbfounded, Chen Guang was dumbfounded, Xu Meilan was dumbfounded, Ning Lan was dumbfounded, and even the trio of Spring Garden who were playing with Zhang Ye were so shocked that they nearly took their hands off from their instruments!
Zhang Ye sang[2].
"Chrysanthemum, sword, and wine![3]
"Infused into the noisy garden via coffee!
"Another nation worships the ancient moon at a sun altar!
"The Kaiyuan[4] golden age charms people!"
Everyone was stunned!

Chen Guang and Zhao Wuliu looked at each other, stunned!
Ning Lan gasped!
Big Qi stared with wide eyes!

He then raised his right hand and unfurled his fingers, singing loudly.
"Our fate's imprinted in the lines of our palms!

"Following my destiny, going toward a myth!
"Dreaming of the Tang dynasty-y-y-y!"
A dream?
Of the Tang dynasty?
A majestic picture was painted for all to see!
Instantly, the Chinese international students stood up and started screaming madly!
The Western audience stood up in shock. How was this possible!
The Korean audience was at a loss for words as they gave expressions of disbelief!

This was China's heavy metal?
This was China's very own heavy metal music?!
But that was impossible!
Didn't China not have its own heavy metal music!
This was not possible at all!

The entire venue responded!

Dragon, legendary monster usually conceived as a huge, bat-winged, fire-breathing, scaly lizard or snake with a barbed tail. The belief in these creatures apparently arose without the slightest knowledge on the part of the ancients of the gigantic, prehistoric, dragon-like reptiles. The dragon's form varied from the earliest times. The dragon came to Japan with much of the rest of Chinese culture, and there (as ryū or tatsu) it became capable of changing its size at will, even to the point of becoming invisible. Both Chinese and Japanese dragons, though regarded as powers of the air, are usually wingless. They are among the deified forces of nature in Taoism

" Is that so ....?! " She astonished.  
She was a teenager girl who was very much attracted towards mysterious mythological creatures and characters.  She was only 10 years old when she decided to find atleast one of them . Since that day , she is gathering as much as possible information about mysterious mythological characters and beings  . 

Her name is Sia , Sia Sun . 

After finishing reading the book , she tored the pages of the books and threw them into the dustbin and muttered  " I have no need to read it again  ! " 

Here , we come to know about her superintelligence.  Her parents are worried about her . Although they want her to make career into governmental Job instead of giving focus on such things . 

According to them it was nothing else than stupid imaginations made for time pass and have no longer link with the reality.  

But , Forcing to Sia was not cup of there tea . So , unwittingly they are letting her study mythology  . 


After a while.  Sia moved away from her table and pick one another books . This book was quite big  , old and dusty.  
She took it and without losing time she started to read it. 

What is a mermaid?

A mermaid is a mythical sea-dwelling creature, often described as having the head and body of a woman and a fish's tail below the waist.

 

Stories of mermaids have existed for thousands of years and span cultures across the world - from coastal settlements in Ireland to the landlocked Karoo desert in South Africa. The English word mermaid is a compound of "mere" (Old English for sea) and "maid" (a girl or young woman).

As these spirits or divinities stem from multiple African cultures with ancient roots, there is no singular characteristic to their identity. Mami Wata's gender is fluid, meaning she can sometimes appear as a man or woman. The spirit is worshipped for both their benevolence in offering beauty, healing and wisdom, and as a way of warding off natural disasters. 

 

Following colonialism and the rise of the slave trade in the 1600s, the stories and beliefs of Mami Wata spread across the globe and remain an important source of spiritual connection with African communities seeking to reclaim their traditions and cultural identities. 

Ancient Greece and Rome: Sirens and Mermaids

The mermaids of Greek and Roman mythology are considerably close to the appearance and character of the European myths we think about today.

Many ancient Greek myths equate sirens with mermaids. However, while they share many characteristics, they are now seen as two different entities. 

A famous Greek folktale claimed that Alexander the Great's sister, Thessalonike was transformed into a mermaid upon her death in 295 BC and lived in the Aegean sea.

 

Whenever a ship passed, she would ask the sailors one question: "Is King Alexander alive?" If the sailors answered correctly, declaring "He lives and reigns and conquers the world," Thessalonike would allow the ship to continue on its journey. Any other answer was said to anger her, and she would conjure a storm and doom the vessel and its sailors to a death at sea. 

Eastern Europe: Rusalki

Often translated as "mermaid," the Rusalki are water nymphs of Slavic mythology.

While initially regarded as benevolent spirits of fertility and agriculture, Rusalki gained a more sinister description in the 1800s. They were believed to be the ghosts of women who died violent deaths by drowning. In their anger and sorrow, the Rusalki now lured men and children to their watery graves.

Ireland - Merrows

Female merrows, with their beauty and long green hair, resemble our traditional views of mermaids. Their counterpart, the male merrow is considered grotesque, cruel and more fish than man. The ruthless nature of the male merrow is why the creatures were said to have relationships with humans.

Southeast Asian folklore includes the story of a mermaid princess, Suvannamaccha (meaning "golden fish").

 

In the Ramayana, the countries retellings of the Indian epic poem, one of the heroes, Hanuman attempts to build a bridge of stones across the sea.

 

His plans are hampered by Suvannamaccha who has been instructed to prevent the causeway's completion. The two meet and fall in love and Suvannamaccha ends up helping Hanuman finishing the path. The mermaid is now seen as a herald of good luck and her figure is depicted in charms, streamers and icons throughout Cambodia, Thailand and Lao. 

Scottish Isles and Scotland - Selkie

While not exactly "fishy" the Scottish selkie has often been connected to mermaid mythology.

 

These shape-shifting creatures live as seals while in the sea and transform into humans while on land. In Gaelic stories, they are often described as "maighdean-mhara" meaning "maiden of the sea." In their stories, selkies are uncertain creatures. There are stories of them tempting people into the water, but others where they cast off their seal skins, marry humans and begin families.

 

These tales usually end in tragedy when the selkie returns to the oceans, with or without their loved ones.
