Yangxin was never a fan of poetry since he had been hated his literature professor back in high school but this poem is stuck in his mind.
It was a beautiful poem that made him love every poem that Li Bai wrote. He even made a compilation of his poems but this one stood out among the rest.
Qin Sheng drags him to his room while carrying the shopping bags that he bought from the mall via online purchasing.

"You mean that XuWei from the Xin state?" Xiao Bai asked to clear his suspicion however he would be lying if he said that he didn't thought of this possibility.

"Yes. I've heard that you're looking for me? Are you surprised?" XuWei leaned to the table with his hand supporting his face. 

"Ah yes. It's just that I imagined his highness quite far different from you so I'm a little shock." Xiao Bai calmed down and came back to his normal self, like he didn't hear something trivial just now.

"How do you imagine me?"XuWei got triggered all of a sudden.

"I just thought that he would be quite mature and intimidating. You know? Like how ming xue usually is?" Xiao bai answered truthfully. According to the information that his uncle gave him, his highness is a young genius who experienced war and led thousands of troops to victory. Naturally, one would thought that his highness is a mature young adult. But it came out to be XuWei, one of the most clingiest person he ever made acquaintance with.

"Well. Actually I might quite have an idea of your really identity since the first day." Xiao continued with a chuckle seeing XuWei feeling all gloomy all of a sudden.

For the bases, I knew that the crown prince is good at both so it narrows the possible targets in drastic measures. While watching the fight I was observing about 10 people however when you fought in the martial arts match, I knew you were holding back." 

"How did you know?" XuWei was now interested. It was like they were gossiping about a complete different person.

Xiao bai, "I know, because the way you deliver your attacks you would lower it's power when it was about to hit. You also lower the momentum of every attack, I could also see that you are calculating every movements." 

"Well that's quite right.. But someone is telling me that when they also played with their opponents." XuWei pretended that he was talking about other people but Xiao Bai knew it was him.

"Yeah whatever." Xiao Bai rolled his eyes towards him, earning a light chuckle from his highness.

"Anyway, you already knew my truth. It's your turn to tell the tale." XuWei said as he look at Xiao Bai in his eyes.

And so Xiao Bai didn't care if he only knew XuWei for a week. He told everything that uncle zhao told him of what happened to Wang kingdom. After he's done he asked, "I've heard that emperor Li went to your emperial palace to make alliance."

"Now that you've mentioned it. Someone did visit us. However emperial father is busy with the affairs in the north so he don't have time to entertain him." XuWei was rubbing his chin while telling him and continued, "Don't worry. We're not forming alliance with a useless emperor."

"I know." Xiao Bai confidently answered. 

XuWei, "So what was you and your uncles plan?" 

" Li shun didn't made any move yet. But we are preparing for all the possible routes and countermeasures. However we lack in soldiers. As I said emperor Li forces all the young men to serve as a soldier under him. But uncle's past subordinates are the only ones who turned their back against the Li and also some recruits in the neighborhood. We might win in quality but we will be overwhelmed by the enemy's quantity." Xiao Bai explained. 

"You said that they were forced. Then all the reason for them retaliate against the ruler. How about using them?" XuWei experienced countless battles so it was a very good tactic.

Xiao bai sighed, "I thought of that before. But their families. It's an open fact that the lives of the people are in the hands of the ruler. If they retaliate then many innocent blood will be spilled."

"You're thinking too much. You can win a war without blood." XuWei said in a warm voice. He felt like his heart was washed by spring water. Xiao Bai is such a good hearted angel sent by the heavens. 

"..." Xiao Bai kept silent waiting for XuWei to continue. "You could send someone to poison him. If an emperor is a manipulative ruler, using his people in his own leisure, the odds that many insiders in the palace have the will to end his life. What you need to do is take advantage of that and ask them to cooperate with you."

Xiao bai suddenly felt the urge to hit himself. Why didn't he think of that? It always happened in the dramas he watch, how could he forget such an overrated solution?

"What do you mean? That— is quite impossible." This is a real deal you know? According to the dramas and novels he encountered, emperors are very intimidating. Besides Xiao Bai lacks the courtesy and rules on how to properly meet someone with a higher position in a palace. Well XuWei is an exception.

"Ahh don't worry my father is not that scary. Let me tell you a secret. He just looks like someone who would rather break them bend but he was able to kneel in front of my mother. He may be the most powerful but to him his wife is far more powerful than him." He said with a chuckle, feeling that he now understand his father. XuWei as a general needs to show his power, intellegence and courage in order to gain the loyalty and respect of his soldiers, in order for them to trust their lives in his hands. But for some reason he becomes powerless in front of this man, the man who managed to get his attention since the day he laid his eyes on him. For this man XuWei was willing to throw his tall and over-bearing image just so he could keep accompanying Xiao Bai.

"Well that was some secrets you got there. You sure its okay for me to know?" Xiao Bai said with a laugh, grateful that XuWei was easing his troubled heart. 

"It's fine." XuWei answered joining him in laughing as well.

Xiao bai, "By the way, besides me, who else knew about this?"

XuWei, "lets see. Besides you, there's ming xue." 

Xiao Bai, "I guess so."

XuWei, "He was actually the one who said that I should tell you as soon as possible. And also the one who planned to go to this garden maze since there's no one that could eavesdrop on us here."

Xiao bai, "So that's why ming xue suddenly offered to team up with a bunch of handful people. I mean, he was clearly annoyed by those two and yet he pulled them along. I wonder if he was silently suffering right now?" 

"Maybe." And he laughed once again and continued, "Let's go, he said that we should meet at the end of the maze, so we should get going."

Xiao bai nodded and was about to leave when he noticed something on the roof of the pavilion. "Wait!"

"What is it?" XuWei turned around to look at him, confused.

"Look, there's some kind of paper on the on the roof." Xiao Bai pointed at it while looking up. XuWei followed where he was pointing at and indeed there was a paper that was inserted at the wood.

"I'll get it." XuWei stood on the table and with a little jump he got hold of the paper and gracefully landed. He handed the paper on Xiao bai as soon as he did.

Xiao bai carefully opened it. It was a map, the map of the maze is written in here. However what surprised him the most was a short note written on below. 

"Congratulations on finding this map! At the end of your journey you shall receive a gift from us."

"Seems like this is a hidden prize within the maze." Xiao Bai handed the map to XuWei to let him see the note.

"Well let's go and claim it." Xuwei pulled Xiao Bai and guided them throughout the way. Finally after half an hour they arrived at the end of the maze, well rather, they came back to where it started. The maze doesn't really have an end but it was extremely hard to retrace your steps once you entered and arrived at the middle.

"President Zhou, we found a map on the pavilion it said that there's a prize so we want to ask if it's real." XuWei said to zhineng and gave him the map they got. 

"So the two of you found this huh? Quite lucky. This was something that the owner came up with, she was testing if someone could find it. Since the both of you are able to find it then I'm sure it will be a go."Zhineng congratulated them. He called out the owner and enthusiastically reported that someone found the map.

There was suddenly a loud squeal outside followed by running footsteps. 

"Are you the couple who found it?!" A loud voice asked even though sje didn't arrived yet. Xiao Bai frozed at what he heard. 

"Hello are you there owner?" Xiao Bai awkwardly asked when she arrived.

"Sorry for mistaking you two as a couple. You know? This is actually intented for the QiXi festival, the garden maze is famous as a dating spot, especially the pavilion. Many lovers would hang out in there, so I thought that maybe they'll notice the prize that way. By the way, this was a test run, since it was successful, I'm planning to scatter and hide prizes in random corners for them to find. It will make the maze more fun, right? And yes I am the store owner. " she babbled on and on without stop.

"That was not a bad idea, I'm sure they'll like that." Xiao Bai gently smiled, she stared at him like staring at a goddess that descended in the mortal realm.

"Aherrm.." XuWei cleared his throat pulling the store owner back to her senses. The store owner is actually quite young, probably in her 30s. Despite her age she still managed to preserve her youth, she is even very energetic and full of vitality.

"Anyway, you are here to claim your prize right?" She smiled at XuWei. In an instant her woman intuition told her that there is something about them. And women intuition is always 97% right. "The prize we give are of course flowers, especially roses. Since you are the first winners I'll give you 99, just tell me what color you want."

"White china rose." The store owner was surprised, she was pretty sure that he would choose red or pink but it turned out to be white. She came back the two with a grin on her face, "Here you go." She said and gave it to XuWei. A while ago he let Xiao Bai sit and wait for him in the flower bed.

XuWei immediately noticed the white tinted red rose in the middle, "thank you, it's perfect. Do you have an ink, brush and paper? I want to write a poem."

She immediately called zhineng to get the things and gave it to XuWei. She left him to let XuWei concentrate and write his masterpiece, just after 2 minuted, XuWei was able to make his poem for Xiao Bai. He gently folded it and inserted it at the bouquet until it couldn't be seen.

He ran towards where Xiao Bai is and gave him the flower. "Here, take it."

"Thank you." Xiao Bai took it and caress it. "They're beautiful."

XuWei, "Yeah. The store owner is quite talented. Adding a red tinted one to add some highlights."

Xiao bai, "yeah. It looks like blood dropped in a snow."

XuWei, "Yeah, just like you."

Xiao bai laughed, "Why would you say so?"

Xuwei, "Your name is snow but you are the most vibrant color one could see in the white powder of snow." 

Xiao bai remembered the time when he got hit by the truck. Isn't this the most perfect example? In the road covered in white, his blood spilled like a rose blooming in winter.

"Your right." He answered XuWei, intently staring at the mixed colored rose. Somehow, he felt that XuWei knows everything that happened to him. Although everything was indirectly mentioned, it was all pointI ng at his past. From the lotus flower to the orchids and now to roses. XuWei acts like he knows something but also acts like he doesn't, it makes Xiao Bai confused.

"Anyway, be sure to count them when you got home, okay?" XuWei said.

Xiao bai, "why?"

XuWei, "It's a surprise."

Xiao bai wants to ask more but ming xue and the two kids arrived cutting him off. Dingwu and ruo lan inquired hiw they got flowers and of course Xiao Bai told them from start to finish, except for the revealing part.

Bai Yi angrily roared, "That madman! He's really a madman!"

A Japanese female reporter said, "We will raise a protest! This is an insult to us! This is the lowest form of personal attack on us!"

Many of the Chinese reporters had been greatly inspired. They focused their cameras onto Zhang Ye, not wanting to miss out on any footage of him. There was a great deal of satisfaction on all their faces. However, the Japanese reporters all looked very angry, as though they had be on the receiving end of a great insult, incredulous that someone actually dared to scold them and their country in such an official setting!

"Why is he like that!"

"What is he scolding us for!"

"Does he even know what he is saying? Ah!"

The students of Tokyo University were also raging!

A few of Peking University's heads of school could only look at each other in shock!

Matsumoto and the political delegates, their faces as cold as water, lodged stern protests!

The accompanying Chinese officials were also shocked and confused, not knowing what they could say now to appease the situation!

A Peking University Japanese Department teacher jumped up and cursed, "This damned nationalist!"

A staff member from the Office of School Leadership said irritatedly, "What kind of behavior is that! What has the war got to do with the Japanese citizens? Don't let him keep speaking! Get him off the stage! Cut the mic!"

A few of them could not understand why a century-old institution like Peking University, the top institution in the country, would employ a hooligan like Zhang Ye as a teacher. This was a huge mistake, no matter how talented Zhang Ye was or how much Zhang Ye had contributed for academics. This sort of "role model" behavior would nullify all of that! Hiring him was the worst decision that Peking University had made! Zhang Ye's treacherous speech this time would surely cause Peking University to be on the cusp of the news! It would definitely put them in the sights for controversy and criticism throughout the world!

What they are thinking is that they're the more elegant and classier patriots!"

At this point, Zhang Ye raised his head, as though he was responding to those who were so pro-Japanese. "Actually, I'm wondering as well! I am also very amazed! But that's not because they are patriotic while being more elegant and logical than us, not because they are classier than us, not because of any of the highfalutin reasons they claim! That is because…They do not have any hatred for Japan at all! They have long ago forgiven Japan or maybe not even blamed Japan at all before! That is the reason!"

Thunderous applause!

The Peking University students expressed their difficult to describe emotions with loud applause for this!

Just a common citizen's way of showing his love for his country!" Zhang Ye dragged out his words. "But this is just us, an ordinary citizen's most humble patriotism!"

Vigorous applause once more echoed through the entire hall. All of the students had stood up to clap with all they had. A few female students were so excited by this talk that they even had tears in their eyes!

This was a masterpiece from his previous world, a work by Xi Murong entitled A Flowering Tree!

When Zhang Ye recited it, Yao Mi was taken aback, Senior Song had a look of suspicion while countless other Peking University students all did not seem like they understood any of it. It wasn't that they did not understand the meaning of those words, but they did not understand why Zhang Ye would randomly recite a love poem.

Prayed for five hundred years?

Brought together with who? Japan? What was this supposed to mean?

But Zhang Ye continued:

"Buddha thus turned me into a tree.

"Growing beside the path you must pass.

No one could deny that this was indeed a good poem. Up until here, the mood of the poem was vividly established, but still, no one could understand: how was this not a love poem?

At the beginning, there was only sparse and inconsistent shouting!

There was also the best testing student from the national college entrance exam two years ago! There was a top student from Peking University's postgraduate program!

After some time, Lil’ Rick came back.
He passed a name card to his father as if he were presenting a prestigious item. "I’ve found out who he is. His name is Oscar Liu. An employee from the Beijing Museum, he is mainly involved in wooden crafts. He is here in America for a tour and has been invited to appraise some Mahogany furniture during this trip."
"What’s the authenticity of the Mahogany furniture?"
"He refused to reveal anything related to it," Lil’ Rick said in frustration.
Rick walked away. After a few minutes, he returned and said to Frank, "I’ve asked the Chinese man to stay. Would you like to talk to him?"
Frank flashed Lil’ Rick a condescending smirk. "This is your territory? You can’t even question someone on your own territory?"
Rick gave his son a disappointed glance. If he couldn’t even get the crucial information out of that man, what was the use of this son of his?
York’s experience was not something that could even be compared to the experience of a greenhorn like Lil’ Rick. York’s preparations were immense.
Having invited Oscar Liu, York brought him to a small café to minimize the possibility of catching some other treasure hunter’s attention.
Now working together, Frank and Rick went to meet them there.
There were many Chinese people in America, especially Los Angeles.
However, when he saw Liu, Frank put his guard up. He first stated, "I know a Chinese man. His name is Du, Li. He’s a good man from Flagstaff."
Oscar Liu wiped his glasses and revealed a gentle smile. "We Chinese are all good people. A pleasure meeting you guys. Is there anything I can do for you?"
As he spoke, Frank had been observing his eyes and expression.
However, he couldn’t find anything suspicious. When this Chinese man heard Li Du’s name, he was unfazed. The clearest emotion on his face was just a tiny hint of confusion.
He analyzed it for a moment and felt that he was probably being too suspicious. Just because this man from China had appeared, it didn’t mean he was related to Li Du.
Rick knew the reason why he was testing the waters. He scoffed and whispered in his ear, "You know that that Chinese aren’t easy to deal with? You know that you’ll have to keep your guard up against him, right?"
Frank ignored him and instead gave a bright smile to Liu. "Hi, buddy, nice to meet you. I love the Chinese. I love your culture. So here’s the thing: we do indeed need your help for a few things."
Liu nodded pleasantly and said, "Go on."
"It’s like this," Frank said, "I’ve always been interested in this friend of mine called Du, Li. Even his name interests me. From what I know, there is something special about his name in Chinese culture, right?"
Liu smiled and said, "Oh, if I’m not wrong, if we go by his Chinese name, it is pronounced ‘Li Du’?"
"Yes."
"That’s right, there is something special about that name. In the study of Chinese poetry, there was a line in a poem that goes like this: ‘Li and Du’s poems are so widespread that they’re no longer novelties.’"
Appearing very interested, Frank asked, "What does that mean?"
Liu explained, "It means that a poet with the surname ‘Li,’ and another with the surname ‘Du,’ had their poems and teachings spread widely. ‘Li Du’ is a term we use that combines the surnames of two of our culture’s greatest poets.
"Besides Li-Du, there were also combinations like ‘Xiao Li Du,’‘Liu Bai,’‘Su Li,’‘Gao Cen,’‘San Xie San Cao San Su,’‘Er Li,’‘Pi Du,’‘Zhong Xing Si Jie…’"
Frank and Rick had no clue what they were hearing, but they had no choice but to pretend that they were interested, because the important question had yet to be asked.
After Liu finished explaining, Frank said, "Buddy, you seem to be well-versed in poetry. You must be a scholar."
"No, it just happens to be my interest," Liu said with a smile. "In fact, I’m an architecture expert."
"An architecture expert? So you study bridges and buildings?"
"No," Liu shook his head. "I study architecture and related renovations from the four dynasties: Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing."
Frank immediately asked, "Then you must have a deep understanding of ancient furniture from China."
"Yes," Liu smiled. "I do understand it. That’s a good way to put it: that I have a deep understanding of them."
Frank shot Rick a glance. Rick handed some photos over to Liu and said, "We would like to know what material this furniture seems to be made off?"
Liu studied the photos and soon there was a slight change in his expression. He then said, "Sorry, I can’t tell. I don’t think I can help you guys with this."
"Don’t be like this, buddy," Frank smiled. "We don’t have any other intentions, just that we need some help from you to appraise the material used for the furniture."
Liu shook his head. "Just from photos, one cannot tell the materials used. Fellas, if someone tells you that they can do that, then they must be lying."
"Really?" Rick asked with wide eyes.
"Unless he has some sort of supernatural power, it would be impossible. Validating the material of a piece of furniture can only be done with the actual thing.
"Even with the furniture in front of me, it’s not that easy. Several aspects have to be investigated, touched, and felt. A breathtaking amount of experience is needed too..." He then continued with a bunch of terms like "The yellows of the Heaven and Earth,""Yin and Yang balance," and stuff like "Sandalwood’s true colors will grow thicker with time."
Frank and Rick had headaches listening to all these terms.
However, Rick’s expression was turning more and more grim. The trap he was planning to set for Li Du was solely based on these photos. If the photos could not tell anything, then there was a huge problem!
Frank realized that Liu wasn’t going to stop talking, so he slipped a few notes of cash to him, implying as he said, "Perhaps you could tell something from these photos, buddy. Help us out a little."
Liu’s face turned grim. "What do you mean, sir? What kind of person have you made me out as? Sorry, but I think I won’t be able to help you guys. I’ll be leaving."
With all his methods proving useless, Frank gave up.
Seeing such, Rick had a vicious look in his eyes and said, "I guess it’s still up to me."
He held Liu back and made a call. Soon, two Native American Indians walked in and asked, "What’s up?"
Rick said darkly, "We know this Chinese man has information on the mahogany in storage, but he won’t speak to us. We have no choice but to ask you for help."
Harris used his poisonous gaze to scan over Liu. He waved his hand and said, "You guys head out. I’ll have a talk with this guy."
Liu jumped up in a panic and said, "Sorry fellas, I have to leave—"
"Don’t be hasty, tell us a few things before you leave," Harris said with a diabolical smile.
Frank didn’t want to leave and said, "Perhaps I can help out."
Harris suddenly flashed out a khukuri. He slapped the flat part of the blade onto Frank’s face and coldly said, "What can you do? For the d*mn sake of God, can you guys listen to me and scram?!"

Storage auctions, old goods trade, re-estate sales and gold-digging. But the truth is, if one wants to make money, then the supreme way is through searching for the legendary treasures. 
Holding the fort, there’s an ocelot, a wolf, and an Andes condor. At the side, there’s a loyal hound, an irascible ape, and an African honey badger. Who said that you can only rely on humans when treasure hunting?!

It took the greatest effort to not burst out laughing. Why are these ancient people so obsessed with writing poems about nature. They are so seriously boring, and I'm here trying to not fall asleep.
The Crown Prince looks at me expectantly, and I stand confidently and begin to recite my poem.

'Hoeing millet in mid-day heat,
Sweat dripping to the earth beneath.
Do you know the food on your plate,
Each grain was hard-earned.'

When I finish, everyone in the room, prince and servants were very silent. I predicted this outcome, as this is a poem that was written by Li Shen in my past life. It was called 'Sympathy for the Peasants', and I learnt it in my Chinese history class when I was younger.
Obviously a prince like Tian Mo wouldn't give two brain cells of thought towards pheasants, so I chose this poem. I guess I impressed a lot of servants in the room by recognising the peasant's work, and I saw one maid looking like she was going to cry.
'So, your highness,' I say, breaking the silence, 'What are your thoughts?'
He looked mad, but I don't get scared because I know his ego and pride has been hurt and he only got mad because of that. He banged the table with his fists, making my tea cup tip off the table.
Thanks to my lightning fast reflexes due to extensive training, I managed to catch it on time. This seemed to piss him off even more. 
"I didn't call you just to play Go and have a poem competition" he said angrily.
'…'
"Now my question to you is…" he said dramatically, "WHY did Wu Roqing prefer YOU above ME?!" he shouted.
I am sitting dumbfounded in my seat as the crown prince goes off at me. What is he saying?! Roqing turned him down? ROQING turned him down? This can't be! They are destined to be! Oh no, I think I know what went wrong…
Roqing gets attached to the first person that shows any form of kindness towards her. In the original novel, the crown prince was first to be kind to her. Now I made the mistake of indirectly defending her against Li Erong. Now she is  attached to me, and I just single handedly ruined the story plot.
I sigh, and rub my forehead, I think I'm getting a migraine. He wants answers? Fine, I'll give it to him.
'Your Highness,' I say carefully, 'Roqing prefers men that are kind to her and treat her with respect. I treat her with kindness and respect, and even though I may not be a man, she still admires me for it…'
The crown prince's anger disappeared and his expression was replaced with one of confusion. 
"I have to respect women?!"
I have to stop myself sneering at his ignorance. 'Of course you idiot, only stupid women would want to flock around you…' I wanted to say.
'Well then your highness, it is getting late. Allow me to take my leave…'
"Yes, yes. Ju Bai see her out!" he said deep in thought.
I hurriedly walk away from the place, yearning for a breath of fresh air. Once I stepped out of the gates, I sighed in relief, I had survived. It was surprisingly dark outside, and the lanterns had been lit.
I hurriedly walked towards Purple Lily Courtyard, and as I couldn't see clearly in the dark, I suddenly bumped into something and fell backwards. I was so caught off guard, that my reflexes stopped working and could feel myself falling without being able to do anything about it.
I waited for the impact at the back of head, when I felt something grab my shoulders, and then the fabric on my shoulders tearing, as I continued to fall. Then finally a pair of hands grabbing my waist to prevent me hitting the stone floor. I had my eyes closed (because thats what happens) and when I finally open them, I look up to see Jin Qingye. 
'Ha?'
Hold up. Let's back up a little bit. Jin Qingye. My idol. Just ripped my dress so now my chest was semi exposed, and now he was holding my WAIST, and looking down at me.
Does anyone notice anything wrong here? Obviously my brain reacted first, as I untangled my self and straighten up to see his face blushing bright red. I look down at myself and sure enough, my collarbones are exposed and the top part of my chest was showing. 
Me being the mature adult here, I was not embarrassed in anyway (I wasn't a virgin in my previous life). 'Its okay, he's only a kid…' I tried to tell myself, but he was also older than me physically. This could bring problems if someone else saw us.
'Sir Qingye, if you wouldn't mind, may I borrow your cloak? I'll return it tomorrow'
Still blushing and looking away, he hands me his cloak, which I put on. 'How cute…' I think, smiling at him, before walking away swiftly.
