The story of a character in a story where he is the main character but doesn’t sound like so and probably isn’t on anyone’s favourite character list.

For many readers and authors the idea of a story means a series of events that are put in motion to introduce a sence of heightened imagination so the reader can invison the story in motion.

But for a story it can proceed 2 two distinct forms depending on how it revolves around a key character for instance the concept of the character being either passive or proactive in their advancement of the story.

A story in itself revolves around key characters but those said characters can move towards the story either as I said passively or proactively, this can be determined by their difference of their individual necessity to proceed the story in that way.

As an example of comparing a passive character and an proactive character i will present a short story.

'Mark entered into the football club room to the saddened faces of his teammates, he looked around and then asked to the group "why are you guys just laying here while you guys could be practicing"

The group collectively look towards mark with looks of curiosity or weak annoyance before a member of the group Timmy responds " whats the point Mark, the other school clubs have reserved the field and we don't even have a full team so how could we even play" as he finished the group returned to their individual emotions.

Mark becomes stunned for a second before responding with "so what, even if we can't practice on the field we can still practice elsewhere and we don't need a full team to practice" as he says this he leaves the room to go practice alone.

Ok from this example it should be easy to determine who is proactive or passive but in this scenario mark's approach further progression possibly leads to more possibilities of a story gaining traction, while timmy acts as a passive character due his actions and statment giving off an opposite reaction.

In most storys the main character either starts as a proactive character or starts as a passive character who becomes proactive, this mainly to drive the story forward and to Introduce more characters.

Once the main character is introduced any additional character can be proactive, passive or neither where the become classed as irrelevant to the progression of a story.
An example of an irrelevant character would be a character who is mention but doesn't progress the story in any like introducing a high offical of a town but not making them appear or have any grip on the progression of the story.

Just know its possible for a character or plot device to be of two aspects for example of an irrelevant character  being a passive character as well, but this statment can't be used to pair an proactive character trait with being irrelevant as well since once they effect the story in some way they become proactive losing their irrelevancy in the story.

I was just a side character back then, I wasn't even a villain. Just an ordinary, your usual stupid thug who tries to bully the main character of the story. Uh, I feel like tearing up again remembering all those dark days. [Sniff!] The story I was part of was really a hit series, like, there is already a million reads after a minute of update. Can you imagine how crazy that was? The comments said it was the cool characters that made the story lovable, some were the concept, others just simply love to follow the development of the main character. Ugh! I'm feeling the hate rising inside me remembering that shit again. [Hooh! Deep breath! You can't get distracted while telling the introduction of your own story, okay? Yes!]

If there is one thing I was proud in that story, it was because I was the first villain introduced. Not really a villain but I am the one who bullied the Protagonist in that story. [Oh! Protagonist! Great word but it doesn't really describe me, I prefer calling myself main character] I really bullied him back when your hero is so powerless. But why does they always have the luck of discovering something that made them powerful? It is said they were talented yet how did they started so weak? Uh, some author really needs to improve their imagination of how to start a story. Guys, beware of  authors like that, they just want your emotional investment into the character so you will follow their journey. But in the end, it is your repeated recipe  for a light novel. Just a variation of character and environment and source of their power. Ugh!
 
So, anyway, I have the potential to grow along side the hero. I should have been accumulating and growing my power but no, did you know what the author did to me? I instead just become a sidekick, and that sidekick was just a personal guard of another villain, and then that villain was the lowest ranking thug in that organization. And that shitty organization was the lamest among syndicate circle. And that syndicate circle was located in the weakest region of the smallest planet in the corner of the universe. 
 
So you know what does that mean?

 Curse that writer! He just throw out my character development out of the window cause the only character arc he can write well is that of stupid protagonist! And it wasn't really any great storyline, just lot of powers, cultivation, quest, upgrade and trials with plenty of plot holes designed to make that character grow!

I'm thinking of 'What If' scenarios starting from near the middle of the second arc. Since you guys seem to hate pseudo-philosophy and main characters feeling conflicted because their thoughts don't match up with reality, what do you guys suggest?

There are many 'Routes' this story could take. Though I'd like to clear things up first:

Firstly, it's not as if this story is preaching about morals and what philosophy should be. As this is a personal story between characters rather than a critique on how you should define yourself.

If you disagree with the claims on the characters such as Chaos and Harmony, then I have succeeded in making these pseudo-philosophies seem as bad as they should be. After all, there was a reason why I added the perspective of 'Anarchy'.

Rather than just being a tragic 'What If' scenario of the main character, it was supposed to show the danger the main character poses to the world due to the very nature of his existence. With great power comes great responsibility, and the main character isn't responsible enough to handle the gifts he attained, which leads to his misery.

This is just my own defence of the current story as an Author but if literally the only people who read this story don't like the direction it's taking, then I'd like to ask what you readers would suggest.

Give me a What If scenario and tell me what direction this story should've took. True, there have been a lot of re-edits, but I try to make this story better with each draft. So if there is a better 'Route' this story could take, I'm all ears to hear it.

There has never been any comments or reviews from the second arc onwards, so i was thinking you guys were fine with pseudo-philosophy until one of you had the balls to say otherwise. I'm VERY interested to know which parts you guys would like to keep in the story and how it should be repurposed for the packaging of an 'Adventure'.

Perhaps you guys want some characters to be erased and other characters to be kept in, but I'd like you all to make note of one thing before you answer: Which is the 'Theme' this story took on.

Writing character arcs is hard and doing it all in first person is harder considering I am forced to write in character perspectives rather than jump around from the Third Person. There are those who criticise that I jump around with different perspectives a lot even though it would be hard to gauge other's thoughts with the MCs personality.

Just remember that the main character of the first arc was an introvert who would do ridiculous things sometimes. He didn't have a sense of justice and was fine with getting a position out of nepotism.

Some ask a lot of questions that have already been answered in the subtext: Such as what the main character wants to do in life and so on, but just remember that he isn't a 'template main character'.

You aren't supposed to be able to project yourselves onto him just like how you aren't supposed to have empathy with Zeus when you hear his tales of having one night stands with multiple women. You can say that he's slowly turning 'inhuman' in his mindset, but that is also intentional on my part as this isn't an 'Epic Fantasy'.

Oops, here I go defending it again. Anyway, there a lot of ways this story can improve. I already know of it. I just want to write a story everyone agreed was pretty interesting rather than some proper heroic journeys like in the sequels for this.

I never had a plan while writing this at the beginning and even if you tell me what you liked or disliked, I'm just an average author who can't do anything about vague commentary. That way, be clear and open about the opinions you have (even if they are obvious). Don't hold back at all. Hope you guys can give me some interesting ideas.

This is a story I worked on ages ago that has been refined and edited by adding foreshadowing to events while also simplifying the power system better than before. This story can be considered a prequel to An Adventure Beyond Greatness as it takes place years prior to the events of that story.

Short Synopsis:
After retiring from the battlefield, my life became empty and lifeless. The regrets of my past haunt me in my sleep. Then a change occurred, a King from another world summoned me to fight for his kingdom, but I died even before I could give him my answer. Now, after a fake God allowed me to reincarnate (albeit imperfectly) with my memories intact, into a world filled with magic and swords.

Long Synopsis:
This is about a flawed protagonist who only knew to rely on others and not socialise who gets a second chance to change himself in order to live the life he aimed for in his past life. The narrator isn’t exactly trustworthy since it is purely in his bias perspective while other perspectives given by others fill in the blanks that he either leaves out or twists to suit the situation.

The story itself can be considered a parody of Isekai’s classic tropes which are given a sense of reality as time goes by. As there exists no ‘Demon Lord’, there is also no black and white, only characters opinions and counter-opinions throughout the story.
