The man chuckled, stepping back. He yanked the knife from my hand and pocketed the lighter. Then he ran his tongue along the flat of the blade, closing his eyes before he flicked the tip of it against his lips, colouring them red.
I raised my hand and stared through the slitted hole the blade had left. An infection would set in if I didn't clean it soon. I placed it to my mouth and sucked hard at the skin, spitting onto the ground beside me before stuffing it into my trouser pocket. Ruby blossomed across the dark fabric till it was damp. 'Patrols will be here in two minutes.' I said.
The man licked his lips again and shook his head. 'I've lived in Daegu all my life. There's no need to leave. The officers who come now are rookies.'
I glanced back at him. 'Of course you would know that, Youngmi.'
The infamous killer who escaped from prison last year, killing four guards on the way out, totalling his number of murders to seventy-four.
He smiled, but it didn't reach his eyes. 'And they thought I was the good guy.'
Gloss- a rookie rapper who had risen to the top within a year. His fans must have been beyond horrified.
Reading my gaze, he smiled again. 'How many?'
I didn't need to ask to know what he meant. 'Branded one hundred and three.'
Footsteps reverberated off the walls.
'The police have been looking for us, Mr Kim. Do you want to play with me?'
Two officers walked into view, one raising a torchlight.
'I always love a little game of cat and mouse,' Youngmi purred.
I wrinkled my nose as the bright light hit my eyes.
Youngmi was already moving, sprinting for the smaller one. He drew the knife - and with a single slash, the officer crumpled, blood spurting from his lips.
Youngmi pounced like a cat; with feline grace and terrifying accuracy upon the other, smashing his fist into the man's face. There was a yell, then he was knocked to the floor. The torch flew from his hand and thudded to the floor, the light blinking as the batteries were dislodged.
I stood and Youngmi threw out a hand, the tip of the knife pointing at my throat. 'He's my kill.'
Of course. There was a frenzy in his eyes, a frenzy of delight and anticipation. If I stepped forwards now, I would be as good as dead, just as he would be if the roles between us were reversed.
Youngmi dragged the point of the knife across his prey's lips, as the man trembled like a leaf in a storm beneath him. He opened the man's mouth and pinched his pink tongue with his forefinger and thumb. Then, very carefully, very gently, sawed it off. The killer smiled in satisfaction.
The piece of flesh and muscle dripped blood down the man's throat as he writhed and screamed to his best ability. I watched in fascination.
Youngmi stepped back, dropping the severed tongue onto the ground.
The man cowered beneath him, hands shielding his face in a pathetic attempt. He gagged and cried and Youngmi looked at him in disgust. He spat into the man's face and turned away. With a bored manner, contrast to of that he'd been a few moments ago, he said, 'Someone has to be the pigeon.'
Stones crunched together as the man scrambled onto his feet. Gurgles sounded as he tried to speak. Blood flowed over the corner of his mouth. 'I-'
Min Youngmi spun around, a small, dangerous smile playing upon his lips. 'Hm? What was that?'
The man let loose a scream from his throat, red liquid bubbling from his lips.
But the streets were empty, and only the stars remained awake, glinting coldly as the shadows wreathed around the city.

Whatever magic is protecting that hut, it flung me further and further away from the hut each time I approached it. Losing how many times I've been thrown back into the tree line and beyond, I've decided to move on from this sadistic magic hut. 
Pushing myself out of the most recent tree indent I've made in a innocent tree, I continue my journey in the magical forest. 
Passing through the magical forest I come upon more creatures, however something is different for the previous ones I've encountered. 
First off some of them are starting to have the same colouring scheme that the animals in my old world had. 
Second, the only sign that I'm still in a world full of magic is that these same creatures have streaks of the magical colouring on them. 
Like this brown squirrel that I'm currently in a staring contest with. Normally a wild squirrel would run away, but this guy is just starting at me. And I know he's got some magic in him since there's green dots on his hind legs like a my little pony mark. 

From experience I know that this brown squirrel has some wind element in him, but probably not enough to make a magic script like the other magical creatures I've encountered. 
A noise breaks the staring contest from a distance away and the brown squirrel races off into the forest. With no other creature to continue my staring contest with I continue my journey in the magical forest. 
With the animals losing their magical colouring, I think I'm reaching the outer fringes of the magical forest. Since it would make more sense that the further in the forest the stronger the magical creatures. 
Another three days pass before I finally see no sign of magical colouring on the animals I catch glimpses of in the forest. They might have some magic in them, but apparently not enough to warrant any magical colouring. 
The surrounding plants and trees, however, don't seem to have lost the same lustre as the ones further in. They just aren't as densely packed as before. 
Sunlight from the two suns above breach the tree tops more easily. Until I finally see a stretch of plains through the last couple of tree in front of me. A lighter green but just as vibrant and lush as the dark green of the forest, stretches across the grass plain in front of me. 
Gentle rolling hills dot the grass plains further ahead and seem to continue until a chain of mountains blocks their path. The distance between me and the chain of mountains is probably further than I can imagine, but now I have to decided where I should go from here. 
Staying close to the fringe of the forest would guarantee me food and shelter. Since I don't need to secure a source of water because I can just generate it from magic. 
Venturing into the grass plains might provided me some food. But I would have to make my shelter out of earth spikes. And if I happen upon a road then it's would be a 50/50 chance of me actually reaching civilization depending on the direction I choose. 
But if I find a road leading into the forest that I would just have to go in the opposite direction and I'll eventually reach a town. 
With my decision made, I continue walking along the fringe of the forest.

While Yi Li-Na was on her phone. She usually decides the lyrics for her next song or for the groups song via phone. When someone new got introduced. "Everybody!" Choi Ti said. "Yes Choe Ti?"  Chi Shu said "And if I may ask, who is she?"  Hoseki said politely.

"The company decided to add someone new to the group, 7 years in be it. But after we decided to renew our contract someone thought it was a bright idea to add someone new." Choi Ti admitted "So this is Lee Seoyeon, I don't know how Starry Skies will react to this." Choi Ti admitted again.

"Hello! I am Lee Seoyeon! Nice to meet you all!"
Lee Seoyeon told everyone her name which was already told by Choi Ti.

"Hello!" They all said in unison except for Choi Ti.

"Anyways she is 26 and will be taking up the Sub-Rapper and Lead Dancer spot." Choi Ti continued the introduction.

"Does she have a Stage Name?" Chi Shu asked

"Yes! My stage name is Lily, to represent Purity and beauty!" Lee Seoyeon said excitedly
"I am very excited to be working with you all! I have looked up to you since your debut! I was going to debut with you all but I couldn't get enough points so I missed out on the chance, luckily I get this chance now!" Seoyeon explained excitedly.

"Really? Oh! You were supposed to be our leader right?" Yi Li-Na said as the little yellow light bulb flicked over her head. 💭Wasn't she also kind of- bossy and demanding? 💭 Yi Li-Na Thought

💭Oh.. Her I remember never getting a break from her, she really wanted to win, but in turn we almost didn't get to debut because we felt like our legs were going to give out.💭 Hwang Eun-u recalled her trainee days.

"Huh? Oh yes I was! You have a good memory!" Seoyeon complimented.

"Oh. Welcome back, uh.. Since you've been following us you probably know our roles but, I guess we should introduce ourselves again." Choe Ti said as she started introducting people.

"I am Choe Ti, the Main Vocalist, and Center." She said, she decided to let the others introduce themselves.

Yi Li-Na being the first to get the message. "I am Yi Li-Na the Face Of The Group, Lead Vocalist, Main dancer, and composer! Nice to see you again!"

"Oh, I get it now!" Chi Shu finally getting what was going on, the whole group started laughing everyone except Seoyeon. "Oh.. Well I am Chi Shu the Lead Rapper and Lead Dancer, pleasure to meet you after all these years." Chi Shu gave her brightest smile.

"Ello, I am Hoseki Sumisu, nice to meet you. I am the Lead Vocalist, and sub-rapper, but you probably know this." Sumi said.

After introducing everyone else Seoyeon started to talk again. "I have a question, before me there were more people who weren't Korean then people who were, why?" Seoyeon asked practically everyone got a bit offended especially the members who were like she said not Korean.

"What's wrong with not being Korean? Everyone had a fair chance, and it just so happened that more people who aren't Korean got in." Nikeru spoke up.

"I wasn't saying that you didn't have a fair chance, unless your trying to hide something." Seoyeon looked at Nikeru suspiciously.

"Are we seriously having this argument? Seoyeon K-Pop isn't just for people who are Korean, others can join in as well. K-Pop did start as something as something more Korean and is still like that. Hence the K in K-Pop. Though it is unfair to say something like that though." Choi Ti spoke up.


"Oh, I get it now! I apologise if what I said offended you all." Seoyeon said clearly not sorry for her words.

Near his body you can see a syringe with some yellow liquid dripping onto the wooden floor. Sometimes death is so unexpected although life in the beginning is filled with hope.

Soon as the man slowly breathes into this quiet room the sounds of
a police siren sounds out in the street. Yet the man can no longer hear the sounds of this dream world. 

As he slowly drifts into the warm softness of his last dream. But his heart is still tinge with a slight regret. A regret that lives in many dying members during their last moments.

But what's special about these moments is the hope in the impossible, "God if you're out there, I only ask for a chance to live again," there's an audible pause in his thoughts, "In this life I had caused too much pain and lost their hope. If there's a next life let me serve out my dream."

There was only darkness as he closed his eyes to the kiss of death. Suddenly, the sound of an alarm clock ringing very loudly sounds in this dark dimension, 'What is this sound?' 

As he opens his eyes the brightness of the day slightly blinds him. The sight looks very blurry as the spectrum of colors gleams into his perspective. 

Sitting up in his bed as he slowly tries to adjust to the room and everything around him which seems so awfully familiar, 'Just where am I, why does this all seem so familiar.'

Then a mechanical voice sounds in his head, 'Responding to master, this is your college room.'

'Wait a minute, who is this?'

'This is the Spirit System which is bound to your soul,' the mechanical sound voices again in his head. 'Right now you're back to the past when you are 18 and today is January 1st 2000.'

As his eyes finally finish adjusting to the room he starts noticing the empty beer bottles that are sitting on the counter. And it is all becoming clearer that he has returned to the past. 

Yesterday he went with his buddies to celebrate the new year and got pretty drunk last night, which explains the headache he's feeling right now. 

Before becoming happy at this new chance to change the past and get a new start a thought occurs to him, 'I'm so over. I remember I still have my physics and history test coming up in three weeks. Seriously don't remember anything.'

'Congratulations to master for a new beginning. As a gift System awards master 20 spiritual points!'

Slowly reaching his fingers to this strange plus sign next to the number 5. Curiosity overwhelms him as to what is this strange soul power panel. As he clicks the plus button one time he suddenly feels something surging into his mind. 

Now his thought process is a little more clearer and less sluggy despite the hard hangover from getting drunk yesterday. Curious as to what this feeling is, 'System what's happening, what's Soul Power?'

The mechanical voice then sounds again, 'Responding to master, Soul Power is the natural strength of your soul. Normally people usually have Soul Power from 1-10. 

However there have been a few exceptional people in history in your world who have had higher numbers. And Soul Power mainly constitutes your thinking process, but also slightly improves your bodily strength and longevity.'

Slowly nodding his head in understanding, 'Okay so that means by improving my Soul Power I can essentially be even smarter than Einstein and Newton combined.' 

Then he clicked on the plus button until the awarded points are exhausted and the plus button disappears:

Closing his eyes he can feel the clearness of his mental processing and many problems he has had in the past suddenly becomes cleared up. 
There are also many old memories that he had forgotten that are cleared up. But the biggest difference is that anything he has heard or read is remembered, like eidetic memory not photographic. 

System speaking in his mind, 'To be sure that Master will be ready, System will point out that Master will be transported within a month for his mission.'

Universe: Lookism
Mission 1: Reborn as Duke Python and become an even more famous rapper than Eminem. 

Lookism is a webtoon by Taejoon Park about this obese high schoolers who gets bully for his physical looks. But one day a miracle happened where from an unattractive loner guy he woke up in a body that's handsome and perfect in society's standard. 

But even though he happens to be able to get the ability to separate his conciousness in this other body during sleep in the obese body he has to learn to see past his prejudices. And one of his friends at the new school was an aspiring high school rapper named Duke Python.

Whom despite being obese and bullied by people around him he never failed to stanndup for his values and what he believed in. Although initially there were many prejudices against him that hold him from opening the world to his talent as a rapper. Eventually he strives towards becoming a great rapper like his idol Eminem. 

Slowly sitting on the bed he thought about what methods he can use to achieve this goal. But the hardest part is the minimal time, 'According to my memory the Lookism world doesn't have the songs of Eminem in this world and other famous rappers. So I'll need to memorize as many songs as possible within this month.'

As he was pondering the plan and the obstacles that might be a challenge a phone call sounds:

A man with a friendly tone speaks through the phone, "Hey Tony, I bet ya' love the party last night. Got over your hangover yet?"

Responding to his friend, "Yeah feeling much better now. What's up?"

Laughing the other guy now speaks to the main purpose, "Ya know the thing that's popular now...Well I got it for ya at the party tonight downtown. How about $50, won't charge ya much for now."

This was the beginning of what then began the evil road that led to his addiction in his past. This time I'm going to be different, "No thanks man, keep it for somebody else." Then Tony clicked off the call, and took a deep fresh breath for a new beginning.

On the other side of the phone is a young man with ruffled dyed hair and baggy pants and clothing. The house is pretty empty except a red sofa with a drunk prostitute that high on some drug. Talking to himself, "What the fuck is wrong with that guy? Thought we were cool."

Tony Stark: "If I'm Iron Man who's that guy flying in that armored suit?"

Madera Uchiha: "What! That thick eyebrow guy broke my susanoo!! Stop what you're doing!"

Harry Potter: "I thought I'm supposed to fight Voldemort. How come Ron just send a spell that burnt Voldemort into a barbecued chicken?"

As i enter my English class some students are standing at the front with Mrs Merdock, as i don't recognise them im assuming they are students from Parkshore academy, but to be honest, i really don't care so i go and sit in my usual seat at the back of the class and doodle on my book while Mrs Merdock sorts them out.                                                                                                                                Im just colouring my rose in a lovely black when there's a cough in front of me so i slowly raise my eyes starting with the black tight fitted t-shirt looking all the way up to the muscled arms then the thick neck and up to the divine god standing in front of me with his dark hair and the bluest eyes on this planet, and full lips, there is no way on this earth that he is legal "err the teacher sent me to sit next to you, is that ok?" he frowns at me like im mentle so i shake my head to clear my thoughts "hum yeah sure" i say then carry on colouring my rose before i say something stupid,                                                                                                                                                                 "oh hey im Shannon " comes a girly voice "you don't want to sit there, that dorks beth and  nobody would be seen dead with her",                                                                                                                        now im not sure why i did it , i usually keep to myself but Shannon is just getting too much so when everything is silent and the whole class is looking at me,instead of keeping my mouth shut i don't "oh look im Shannon,oh i sooo want everyone to look at me because im so soo beautiful,half the boys want to ride me while the other half already have,"                                                there's a sharp intake of breath from the whole class except the new boy sitting next to me who is laughing ,                                                                                                                                                                               "ok settle down now everyone, i want you to continue reading your Romeo and Juliet books, if you have a new student next to you please share your copy until they have new books" the teacher said loudly enough for everyone to hear,                                                                                                     Shannon scowles at me before turning around in her seatwhile the new boy just chuckles "hey im luke,your funny" i just roll my eyes and open my book curseing my big mouth for the beating i was probably going to get for it, "sooo is it ok if i share your book, i don't have one yet" Luke whispers to me with a smirk on his face making me huff and slam my book between usto which Luke just chuckles.                                                                                                                                                                 L spend the rest of the lesson fuming with myself for opening my mouth to Shannon and fuming because of the way Luke seems to make me want to be closer to him,                                                         finally, the bell goes and before Luke has the chance to say anything i have grabbed my books and am out of the classroom getting some much-needed air.



Beth is a loner,she doesn't have many friends nor does she want them, she never wanted to be the poplar girl and preferred to stay out of the lime light ,but when the kids from the school with the worst reputation comes to her school then shes going to get lots of attention and all from luke the boy with the worst reputation.

"I shouldn't have said that."

Namjoon's thoughts were an echo of Ji Ah's. Throughout the duration of the mock interviews, the two of them had been sneaking glances at each other, wondering how to dispel the tension that thickly coated the room. 

Ji Ah mentally berated herself for the words she had flung at Namjoon. He may have acted agitatedly, but if she was being honest, he had every right to. She should've been more cautious. 

Kim Namjoon wasn't simply her ex-boyfriend, he was the leader of BTS. And she would do well to remember that. I guess I'm not beyond reproach either, she thought ruefully. 

Namjoon's thoughts, on the other hand, were preoccupied with conjuring the various different ways in which he could talk to her and repair the situation. The leader realized his folly of not giving Ji Ah a chance to explain herself without lashing out at her. Yes, the song was important, but not more important than how he treated someone he was supposed to be working with. Though for the life of him, Namjoon couldn't figure out why he cared.

"You've been spacing out for a while now," Hoseok whispered from beside his fellow rapper. "And what's with the creepy looks you keep shooting at Hong Ji Ah?"

Yoongi smirked as he overhead the last bit. "Talk about being obvious," he teased Namjoon, whose facial muscles pulled taut with embarrassment. 

"I'm not doing anything of the sort!" he defended himself vehemently, trying to lower his voice as much as possible though the surrounding din drowned it anyway. 

Taehyung had been observing both Ji Ah and their leader, an epiphany dawning on him. Their body language was on a similar wavelength; twitchy fingers, fluttering eyelids, anxious expressions. "You fought with her, didn't you?"

Namjoom groaned inwardly and Jungkook's eyes widened. "Fought?"

Jimin flicked the maknae's forehead. "I'm pretty sure Tae doesn't mean that kind of fight." 

Jungkook scowled, swatting Jimin's hand away. "I know that!" His outburst only earned him grins from his bandmates and the maknae himself yielded a smile, albeit reluctantly. 

Namjoon leaned against the chair. The members were currently taking a break before resuming the last leg of the shooting, after which they would wrap up for the day. The leader's eyes flitted towards Ji Ah, who seemed determined to avoid meeting his gaze.

Yoongi's voice roused him. "So is Taehyung's guess correct? Did you fight?"

Namjoon didn't answer, a whirlpool of emotions churning in his gut. If his members could read him so easily, then there was no doubt that his troubled state of mind extended beyond the confines of his thoughts. But then again, they had lived together for seven years.

"I may have acted a little rashly," he began slowly as he turned to the older rapper. 

Yoongi's expression remained inscrutable. "It's not rash if you can justify it."

"On the cost of someone else's feelings?" Namjoon knew how self-assertive Yoongi was and if anyone could understand his predicament, it was him.

A warmth crept into the rapper's eyes. "I guess it would depend on what drove their actions too. All I can say is, there is a difference between reason and impulse. But if it makes you question your integrity, then there's some food for thought."

Namjoon wasn't sure exactly what Yoongi was getting at but he nodded nevertheless. None of it changed the fact that he needed to speak to Ji Ah. Soon.

His chance arrived when the videographer, Cho Jae Chan, concluded the schedule for the day. His team dispersed, gathering the equipment and exiting the room as the members of Bangtan rose to leave too. Namjoon's eyes traced Ji Ah's movements as she prepared to slip out, her face resolutely facing the direction in which the door stood.

But before she could take even a step towards it, Namjoon caught hold of her arm. Ji Ah whirled around in confusion as Seokjin shot significant looks to the members. 

"I just remembered! There's something I need to do and I require your kind assistance," he declared, not waiting as he grabbed a startled Jungkook by the collar of his shirt.

Yoongi merely yawned as he followed the eldest out. "Do it yourself, Hyung. I have a meeting with Suran Noona to get to," he said languidly as he breezed past Seokjin, who was in the process of dragging the maknae out, though not without engaging in a scuffle with him. 

Namjoon's features contorted in perturbation as Jimin and Taehyung practically carried Hoseok out of the room, the main dancer's hysterics relaying his knowledge of the situation only too evidently. 

Could his members be any more obvious?

He turned to Ji Ah, whose face was a mask of solemnity. They stared at each other for a few seconds, a silence which they broke simultaneously.

"I'm sorry!"

"I'm sorry!"

Namjoon and Ji Ah exchanged puzzled looks as the words left their lips. "I didn't think you'd ever apologize," the former said in wonder, knowing how stubborn Ji Ah could be.

Ji Ah shrugged as she pushed her fringes to the side of her face. "You're not the only who has learned from the trials of life." 

The rapper cocked his head to the side as he processed her response. "I just want to say that I should've been more careful with my words. Though you were at fault."

Ji Ah chuckled as she leaned against a desk positioned next to the door. "I guess we're both at edge around each other. Even after all these years." Her lips curled in a thin line. "I'd forgotten how easy it is to slip back into old habits with you. And that's something I want to avoid. Especially after all my rants about professionalism."

"I feel the same way," Namjoon replied seriously as he looked at her. "For now, at least, we're working together. I don't want anything to mar our work ethics." And more than that, he wanted to leave his tumultuous past with Ji Ah exactly where it belonged: in the past.

Ji Ah's face crunched in consternation as she ran her hand through her hair. "Then let's try to get along." She stared him straight in the eye. "For now. Are we not wise enough to do that?"

"I think we are." A small smile crept up the rapper's face as Ji Ah returned it with a grin. "Let's not interact unless it's absolutely necessary. We'll avoid any scruples that way."

"Agreed." Ji Ah's fingers curled around the door handle when Namjoon's voice stopped her.

"But this doesn't mean that the deal we made is off," he stressed vigorously and Ji Ah laughed softly without facing him.

"I wouldn't have it any other way."

"Do these lyrics sound pretentious?" Namjoon inquired later that night at Bangtan's dorm. The rapper had been relentlessly working on composing a song which they had titled 'MIC Drop'. 

Hoseok looked up from his own laptop as the rest of the members scuttled into the living room to await the arrival of the pizza they had ordered. Yoongi had returned from his meeting with Suran in a state of intense excitement and had shut himself up in his studio while the oldest and the maknaes had decided to work on some of their own music too.

"What are the lyrics?" Taehyung asked with an interested glint in his eye.Namjoon took a deep breath as he began rapping. 

"Mianhae Billboard,
Mianhae Worldwide,
Adeuri neom jallagaseo-"

"Mianhae Eomma," Yoongi finished as he strode into the room. The members looked awestruck while Seokjin raised an eyebrow.

"Yah, Kim Namjoon, is that Worldwide a reference to me?" He crossed his arms as he waited for Namjoon to reply.

The rapper grinned and Hoseok applauded. "I think these are great, though. What makes you think they're pretentious?"

Namjoon plopped onto the couch as he pondered Hoseok's words. "I was just worried. Bang PD wanted me to write a song reflecting our attitude towards haters but in all honesty, I've got no anger left. So I thought these words would generate a weird vibe."

Yoongi nodded with understanding as he patted the younger rapper's back. "I don't think you have to concern yourself with that."

Jungkook's head bobbed enthusiastically. "I agree with Yoongi Hyung."

"So does this mean there won't be a cypher on this album?" Taehyung looked dejected as he voiced the question forlornly.

"Don't worry, Tae. You might yet find a way to rap," Seokjin said kindly and Yoongi snorted.

"Like he would've been able to rap in the cypher anyway," he muttered in a low voice. But the statement had been audible enough. Taehyung looked crestfallen and Yoongi grinned apologetically. "C'mon, let's hold hands."

Taehyung simply glared at him and Jimin tried to quickly salvage the situation by digressing from it. "Anyway, any suggestions for the name of the album?" he asked, diverting their attention. 

Hoseok instantly perked up. "I have a few. Since they're going to be a set of mini albums, how about we stick to one name but use colons to emphasise the different themes?"

"I like it," Seokjin stated as he looked around. "And ideas for the title?"

Jungkook looked thoughtful as he rubbed his head. "How about something denoting our growth? From teens to adults?"

"But with a focus on external factors and trying to convey the importance of youth," Jimin mumbled as his eyes narrowed in thought.

"And the importance of love too," Yoongi added. "Since learning to love oneself is a part of growth."

The wheels were turning in Namjoon's head. Growth, youth, love. A connection was beginning to form when Taehyung spoke up.

"'Love Myself'? It would match with Cypher 4 too," he suggested and Hoseok nodded appreciatively. 

Love Myself. 

Something was stirring just beneath Namjoon's conscious and he struggled to grasp it. What was it about that phrase? It elicited something someone had said to him a long time ago. 


The rapper suddenly jumped up, startling the others. All at once, Namjoon knew the perfect title for the album, something which would chart their journey right from the beginning to where they had reached today. "I have a suggestion," he said, his conviction strengthening with each word.

"How about 'Love Yourself'?"

"So, as you already know, I'm the leader of BTS, RM-"

"I'm more curious about Kim Namjoon."

Chapter 45. Girl group start (3)
"Are you interested in joining an agency?"
Lee Hyun straightforwardly asked Soyun as soon as they entered a nearby restaurant. He didn't wanted to waste time on useless conversation. 
"A-agency?!"
Soyun nearly choked on the water she was drinking as she heard that question.
She already knew that Lee Hyun was the President of an agency. Although she had never heard of Mango Entertainment, Lee Hyun looked reliable.
"Yes, an entertainment agency. I think you would become a great rapper."
"How do you know that I used to rap?"
"I saw one of your videos and rumours about you are abundant in the underground rappers community."
It was not hard to find information about her for Kim Dongsu. He had merely asked some of the rappers in Hongdae and they have told him about Soyun. 
She was more famous than he had expected. 
'... Not only that, she would become the main rapper of a girl group called ATL in the future, but she looked completely different currently now.'
Lee Hyun thought as he stared at Soyun. She became flustered seeing his gaze and quickly lowered her head.
'She's really different than the 'Soyun of future'.'
She looked like a shy studious high school student currently, but after her debut, her image was of a cool tomboyish girl.
She always has short hair and her hourglass figure was enough for the guys to be crazy about her.
The main highlight of her fans was that more than half of them were females. It was a really rare thing for a girl group member to have crazy female fans at that time. 
"Um, I'm sorry, but I don't have any intention of returning to rap."
Soyun said as she raised her head and blinked her eyes. Behind the glasses, Lee Hyun was easily able to see the big bright eyes of her.
"You lose interest in it?"
"T-that's not..."
Soyun fumbled with her words when he asked that. 
Lee Hyun was sure that Soyun was still interested in rapping. If not, then it don't make sense for her to join a girl group in the future.
"I just can't rap currently!"
"Is there a reason?"
Lee Hyun asked and Soyun became silent. She opened and closed her mouth like she wanted to say something, but she didn't knew how.
'What's with her?'
Lee Hyun thought as he raised his eyebrow.
He wondered what was the reason that was stopping Soyun from being able to rap. He tried to get a clue by thinking about his past life and suddenly, he recalled something.
He quickly opened his mouth and asked.
"You are in your first year of high school, right?"
"Ah, yes!"
"Then, is it your parents that are stopping you from rapping?"
Soyun stopped speaking hearing that. Her eyes shook, indicating that Lee Hyun's arrow was right to the mark.
'There were rumours that she secretly took an audition for an agency because she was scared of her parents knowing.'
Lee Hyun thought back to one of the rumours about Soyun that he had heard.
It looks like the rumour was also true.
Soyun's parents didn't wanted her to become a rapper and she also didn't wanted to go against them. So, she was studying hard to get into a good university. 
It would only after 5 years that Soyun would gather the courage to audition for an agency.
'It's really fortunate that I found her before that.'
Lee Hyun thought that his luck was really good. He was able to get the location of a skilful rapper who would gone on to become a rapping sensation in the future. 
Now, he won't let this chance go away.
"If it's your parents, then I can talk with them?"
Lee Hyun tried to persuade her, but Soyun spoke in a raised voice.
"They won't understand!"
She quickly lowered her head after that.
"They think that rapping don't have any future and want me to become a doctor. It's also not like I'm any good..."
Soyun frowned saying that.
"You think that you aren't a good rapper?"
"Yes, I'm not..."
This time, Lee Hyun was not able to help himself from frowning. 
Soyun who won many individual awards for her rap songs was saying that she was not good at rapping. It was not a good joke!
"You really underestimate yourself."
"Huh?"
Lee Hyun continued glancing at her surprised face.
"I will be honest with you. Soyun, you are a great rapper!"
"Ah?"
"You may believe me or not, but it's true that I think you are a great rapper and probably become one of the best after some training."
Soyun stayed silent hearing all that.
She didn't know how to reply to all that. It was the first time someone was complimenting her so much and it didn't look like a lie.
She has encountered many casting managers when she was still rapping. They all would say sweet words to entice her, but most of it would be a lie.
But it looked like Lee Hyun was saying it genuinely. 
"Even if you say all that, my parents won't agree."
"Let's leave that to me. I will convince your parents."
"But..."
"You don't have to give an answer currently. You can think about it for sometime. Just contact me if you change your mind."
Lee Hyun stopped talking after that. 
Soyun glanced at his face and fell into thoughts. Should she agree? No, even if she wanted to agree, it was too hasty.
But she also didn't wanted to refuse.
No matter what agency, Soyun just wanted to stand on the stage and made the people cheer at her rap.
'Will I be able to fulfil my dream?'
Looking at Lee Hyun, Soyun's thoughts become more complicated.

"What did you say?"
"I'm saying that I want to have a private meeting with your President before even thinking of joining your agency."
Kim Dongsu stared at the girl in front of him with an expression of disbelief. 
The girl in front of him was really pretty. Her face was Asian, but it has hints of western features too. It was like someone had mixed two beauties from Asia and Europe.
That description fits her the best.
Her name was Alice Jung. Her father was from Korea and her mother was British, giving her a exquisite beauty.
She was also the major candidate for the girl group.
"You know you can't just meet him just because you want to."
"Is that so? That means your agency don't give much importance to me."
Alice smiled with a mischievous expression like she was enjoying it. 
'What should I do?'
Kim Dongsu thought, but it was hard to come to a decision quickly.
Having her meet Lee Hyun was not a hard thing. It was really easy, but Lee Hyun was still the President. He needed to have some dignity and respect.
"What happened? You can't agree to my request?"
Alice asked and Kim Dongsu hastily replied.
"N-no, it's fine."
"That's good then."
Alice clapped her hands and smiled towards him. Kim Dongsu smile faded away seeing that. The girl was clearly trying to play with him.
'We should not have tried to recruit her in the first place.'
Kim Dongsu held himself back from frowning.
Alice was notorious in the whole Hongdae for rejecting the offers of most of the top agencies in Korea.
Even Top Entertainment tried to recruit her because of her dancing skills that were top notch, but she asked to see Bae Hyunsung personally before joining 
Of course, there was no way he would meet a mere trainee with his ego.
It was the same for the other top agencies.
They all refused after hearing her demands. Some small agencies Presidents even met with her, but she refused them even after that.
Because of that, Alice became really famous and notorious at the same time.
'Ah, this is giving me a headache!'
Kim Dongsu thought as he frowned.

Jennet leaned her head on Hue's shoulder as they gazed up upon the bright sky. Birds were flying here and there at the top of the trees that surrounded the huge house. There was also the sound of the horses neighing and the sound of the cows mooing from the barns. 

Jennet chuckled after a while of silence. "I'm wondering what mama thinks about you. Maybe she thinks you're brainless to have married someone like me." She said. 

Hue pulled her in his embrace and kissed her head lovingly, "Then, I am willing to be brainless as long as I can stay by your side."

Jennet scoffed at him, "If you're brainless, I have to let you go. I need a man with a brain to stay with me."

"Do you think I am stupid?" His face soured. 

"A little bit." She said honestly and chuckled after that. 

"Not fair..." Hue whispered with a long face. He may be stupid about the human cultures and customs but when it came to her, he had a brain or so he thought. 

"But, I love that about you..." Jennet told him with a sweet smile. 

"My stupidity?" Hue widened his eyes at her. 

"All of you, silly!" She corrected him. 

Hue laughed and he wrapped his arms around her even tighter. 

"Then, give this silly husband your precious kisses." He pouted his lips at her. 

Jennet giggled as she kissed him. All of her unhappy moods disappeared instantly. It was as if she was never angry.

After dinner ended that evening, Rosella took the chance to meet Jennet alone in the library. The mother and daughter refused to face each other. They stood far from one another.

"I never approve of your marriage with that man," Rosella spoke. There was disagreement in her opinion. 

"Why, if I may ask?" Jennet asked for a reason. 

"He's not suitable for you," Rosella said, saying what she thought. 

Jennet stayed calm. She inhaled a very deep breath to control her anger. "Mama, whether he is suitable or not, he is my legal husband. You have no right to voice out your disagreement about our marriage."

"You can always divorce him. A man like him isn't loyal to one. Just look at his handsome face. He must have lots of women behind you."

"He isn't someone like that. You know nothing about him."

"I am your mother and I know what's best for you. I have been doing my best to make your life easy. I have been doing the best to make your life easy."

"By denying my right to have my own freedom, is that what you mean by making my life easy? 

"Yes!" Rosella said without hesitation. 

Jennet shook her head slowly. Her heart broke over again. Mama never changed even after five years had passed. Mama always thought she did the right thing when she wasn't always that right. 

"I'm disappointed in my own mother for what she did to her own flesh and blood," Jennet spoke softly. Her throat sored. 

"Jennet, I did what I should because I am your mother. The Hanvel forgave you for what you did and still wish for you to marry into their family. Where on Earth can you find a kind and forgiving family like them?" Rosella kept talking about the goodness of the Hanvel. She tried to make Jennet see the situation. 

"Is that all that you can think of, mama? Have you ever thought about me? About my opinions? About my feelings?"

"I have. Feelings can always change. It can be ignored. It is important for you to have a secured life besides the man I chose for you."

"Mama, why can't you accept the truth that I am already married? I even have a child with my husband. Why can't you accept it?"

"Because your existence was a mistake that I cannot accept. Keep it in mind that I never approve of your marriage either. It was also a mistake from your part for making such a decision."

The air between them became intense. Both of them didn't want to fall back from the verbal war. Both sides exchanged fierce glare. 

Their verbal war was put to a stop when Helena entered the library. She held a tray and on the tray, there were two mugs of hot drinks. 

Helena smiled sheepishly as she apologized for intruding. "I'm sorry to interrupt your conversation. I'll leave after I place the tray here." She placed the tray on top of a table, far from the door. 

Jennet stopped her and stepped forward, "No, you don't have to leave. We are done talking by the way." No points to stay and to talk with her mama any longer. It stressed her body including her pregnancy. 

Rosella watched as Jennet walked away. She kept a cool demeanour before them. She didn't speak a single word. 

Jennet stopped right beside Helena. She gave Helena a sharp stare. Helena felt unhappy with the way she was stared at by Jennet. 

"You smell funny," Jennet commented out of the blue. 

She leaned closer and sniffed the air around Helena. "Yeah, your slimey smell is pungent to my nose," Jennet added and then she left while mumbling non-stop about her slimey smell. 

Helena froze where she stood. That moment, she had an indisputable intend to kill. Her wild instinct was threatened and she wanted to tear Jennet apart. No humans had ever commented about her smell before because no one could smell her scent. 

"What did she say to you?" Rosella's voice snapped her back to her senses. 

Helena hid her uneasiness and smiled, "Ah, she just commented on my perfume. It seems she's not a fan to the perfume I put on."

She took a mug and handed it to Rosella. "Let us forget about her. Here, I prepared it the way you like it. It's best to drink it while it's still warm." She smiled sweetly. 

Rosella took the mug without a second thought. She had always taken whatever drinks were offered by Helena without thinking much. 

She took a sip of the warm drink and she stared into blankness, maybe to indulge herself with the taste. Shortly after that, she felt groggy. She sat down on one of the chairs and fell asleep while still wrapping her hands around the empty mug. 

Helena smiled as she took the mug from her hands and placed it back on the tray. She stared at the sleeping face and a wicked smile crept on her beautiful face. 

"Sleep tight, Rosella. Sleep tight as usual." She whispered. 

She closed the door and locked it from the inside. A dagger appeared in her hand as she approached the sleeping Rosella. She took one of Rosella's hand and pressed the sharp tip of the dagger onto her fair wrist. 

As the sharp edge of the dagger moved on the surface of her fair skin, blood gushed out from the fresh wound when the epidermis was tored open. The red blood dripped down Rosella's fingertips. It exuded the smell of rust, a good and rich one. 

The blood evaporated, clouding the air with black vapour that danced in a circle in front of Helena who was smiling widely. Her eyes turned green and her forked tongue danced from the crack of her lower and upper lips. 

Helena sucked in a fair amount of air into her lungs. It pulled along the dark vapour with it. That was how she fed on humans. 

For the long years, she had been disguising herself as a member of the Chester family and she had preyed on the entire family as well. 

However, she hasn't preyed on any of the Lockhart family members including Jennet and her siblings because, for some unknown reason, she had trouble preying on them. 

It seemed someone or something else was protecting the Lockhart members from harm. For sure, the one protecting the Lockharts already knew her real identity.

The next day, Jennet and Hue were introduced to everyone in the neighbourhood. People from another village came to the house too and were welcomed warmly by the entire family members. 

The majority of the people who came was charmed by the good look from Hue and Little Veen. It was even bizarre when the bachelor hot boys in the Lockhart family entered the picture and made the day even brighter. 

Amidst the crowd, Katerina took the chance to show off her beauty to attract Hue's attention. However, she always failed because she was either swarmed by the guests who admired her beauty or tripped unexpectedly before she could seduce Hue within the crowd. 

"I'm sorry for spilling the drink, Aunty Katerina." Little Veen apologised when he accidentally spilt his chocolate drink on Katerina's limited edition shirt. 

The spilt drink made Katerina mad. However, she couldn't get mad at the boy or curse at him. It was because the boy was too cute. He was too cute to the point Katerina wanted to stab her own heart for falling for him and failed to get mad. 

"I-I forgive you. Now, off you go to your mother before she comes looking for you." Katerina said and hurriedly left the place to change her clothes. 

Helena approached Little Veen who was on the verge of crying for what had happened. She had the sweetest smile on her beautiful face when she consoled him. 

"Veen, honey. Come, follow me. Let's get under the shade." She took the hand of the boy and ushered him to sit under a parasol with her. 

"Do you want to try another drink? A cold one?" Helena offered him a selection of cold drinks amidst the hot day. 

Little Veen shook his head. "I don't want any." He stared at the empty paper cup in his chubby little hands. 

"Ohh... You want to drink the same as the one you spilt on Aunty Katerina's shirt?" She asked him.
 
The little boy shook his head again. He wasn't in any interest to drink anything. 

Helena hated to give up as well. She took a cup of cold fruit juice and took a sip of it in front of the boy. 

"Hmm, this is so delicious and cold. Want to try some? This is really amazing, honey!" She said complementing the drink she had just now. 

Little Veen looked at her before he glanced at the cup in her hand. He was hesitating and Helena could read his body language. 

"Okay, let me get you a new one, okay?" She pinched his cheek. 

Little Veen nodded his head innocently. Helena went to get another cup of fresh juice for the boy. She returned and found Jennet was already there with him. 

"Veen, why are you sitting here alone?" Jennet questioned him with a concerned look. Though she knew he wasn't a normal kid she still treated him as one to avoid suspicion arose from their surrounding. 

"He wasn't alone. He's with me. I just came back to get him another cup of fresh juice. He split his drink earlier." Helena interjected and she slipped into their conversation. 

She handed the paper cup filled with fresh fruit juice to the boy, "Here, your drinks."

Little Veen took it from her and replied with a 'thank you'. He was about to take a sip when Jennet spoke. 

"Honey, you will ruin your dinner if you drink lots of water now. Let mummy hold this for you." Jennet took the paper cup from him and held it firmly in her hand. 

Then, she turned towards Helena and apologized, "I'm sorry for troubling you to look after him. I'll just take him away for his nap. You go ahead and enjoy your time with the rest."

Helena nodded and smiled when they left her alone, standing under the parasol. Shortly after that, her smiling face turned into a sour face when no one looked at her. 

The day ended unexpectedly fast and the celebration ended at dusk. Everyone left one by one and they left bringing foods with them as a token for coming to the celebration. 

Then, the day turned into night. The residents of the huge house had just finished with their dinner. They helped tidy the hiding hall together. 

On the other hand, Helena hadn't given up to get close to Little Veen. She took the chance to play with Little Veen in the living room. The little boy enjoyed her company and he showed off his colouring skills to her as they coloured his colouring picture book together. 

"Veen, do you want to have a sleepover in Aunty Helena's room tonight?" Helena asked while she coloured the clouds on his colouring book. 

"I want to but mummy said, if I want to grow up, I must sleep alone." The boy replied without averting his gaze from the picture which he coloured so diligently. 

"Only for tonight. I'm sure mummy and daddy would agree. Furthermore, aunty wants to spend more time with you, my cute little baby boy." Helena kept persuading him with sweet words. 

Little Veen looked at her and smiled, "Okay!" He answered with a nod on the head. Then, he continued to colour the picture. 

A wicked smile crept onto Helena's face when the boy didn't pay any attention to her. She continued to colour the pictures together with him and kept praising him for doing a good job in colouring. 

Meanwhile, Jennet just came out of the dining hall. She saw Helena talking with the boy. That instant, she had an unhappy feeling about her. 

She approached them and called out for the boy, "Veen honey, can you sleep with mummy and daddy tonight? Mummy misses you so much." She said. While at it, she displayed a sad face to reel the boy into her act. 

"Okay!" Little Veen agreed right away. His face beamed with happiness as he stood up and jumped into his mummy's embrace. 

"Aunty Helena, I cannot sleep with you because I'm sleeping with mummy and daddy. I am sorry." Little Veen apologized to Helena. 

Helena smiled without showing her frustration. It wasn't a good idea to get mad. She had to keep an appearance. 
 
"That is okay, Veen. We still have tomorrow for the sleepover. Have a good night." She answered and pinched his chubby cheeks. Little Veen wished her goodnight before Jennet carried him away. 

Once again, Helena was left all alone in the living room. After a while, she picked the colour pencils and colouring book and placed them on a table. 

Ah, she will let him go for today. She still can wait for another opportunity. She just needed to act as an understanding aunty to fool everyone until she can prey on one of the Lockhart.

She was known as the Loveless Woman at her workplace because she never had or dated any man in her life. She just wanted be left alone. After five years she finally moved into a new house. She thought she had finally gained her freedom and yet she encountered a companion in her new home who kept pestering her life and he called her his wife though she clearly remembered not having married to anyone before. He was eager to expose their relationship but she was desperately trying to hide their relationship because it was a complicated relationship that could ruin her career due to he wasn't even a human.
Her life alongside this 'husband' of hers was just the beginning as she was being pulled even deeper into understanding who he really was and why he was in her house.

"Wife, let's make a baby now!" Hue said honestly without any care of what her reaction would be. He jumped at her with his childish action. 

Jennet grunted and pushed him away angrily, "I am not making any baby with you, pervert!"

"Wife is so mean!" He whined loudly like a kid who was forbidden from eating candy. He cried waterfall of tears on the floor and stomped his feet, acting like an overly spoiled child.

"Uh..." Jennet hesitated. 

"Fine, stop crying!" She was defeated at last by her scheming husband. 

Hue leapt at her from the floor like an obedient puppy who wagged it's tail happily upon hearing his master's call for a treat.
