Loud noise was heard from the family of Igboamalu, voice of chinedu(the husband)was heard shouting, even the neighbors were confuse saying to each other"how come this newly wedded couple is having this kind of argument, even wants to tear the compound apart. Hmmmm they haven't gone far oh" their compound neighbor complained to her next door neighbor as they went back to there own apartment.

"Baby calm down, it was just a mistake, i didn't plan for this to happen" iruoma begged her husband to calm his rage down but the husband refused.


"Don't tell me to calm down, this is tiring. How can you be out of your senses, how many times have we talked about these"he said pointing to he's wife's stomach."just look at how....." Trying to push out words in anger, when iruoma covered he's mouth with her palm


"Do you want to let the world know what's happening in our lives? Calm down dear" rubbing her husband's palm"i know its my fault, yes I have to accept the blame but it was not my intentions for this to happen"she took a deep breathe and continue"maybe... Maybe God does not want it the way you desire" she continue carressing her husband's palm with her soft hands but the husband withdrew his hands from hers but she kept talking, hoping he will understood everything" honey we need to take in this one. I can't...." Chinedu cuts in.


"No!" She drew closer, trying to make him understood her reasons as she tries to placed her head on her husband shoulder.


"Baby come on, let's start with this one please" she whispered, suddenly chinedu stood up, facing her with an angry look.
"We're not starting with this!" He scratched his head in pain and grinned his face"come on!how many times will I hit this words on you. See I'm not ready for any child, so you better remove this thing in your womb"said while looking away.


"Oh God! You called what you put in me a thing? Can you just hear your self out?. Where is your manner chinedu! Hah! "She stood up pacing up and down"how many times will I take out our child , just for you to be happy" she moved to hold his hands as she was trying hard to hold back her tears."baby not once...." she now sat on the couch as what she was telling her husband proves abortive and tears flowed down on her red cheeks."baby why can't you accept this one, is it not your child?why are you suffering our future and me as well..... Baby...."he cuts in.


"Please don't baby me, please. And please don't make me feel guilty of what I know nothing about..... Woman so you don't know what to do to yourself? Oh you expect me to tell you everything? Can't we decide something and keep our promise!" Was fuming in anger


"But you were the one that planted it on me"


"Where is your sense!" Iruoma was there moping like a statue"so you don't know what your fellow ladies do?" He speaks with rage. like he was definitely boiling in anger


"So you want me, a married woman to be taking drugs to wash off? God! I'm beginning to think that you married me here to make money for you not to bear children and raise it with you" she said pointing at him


"What? What nonsense!" Looking away, seems he was short of words


"O yes! Defend it" looking over to him,to defend back but he looked away arranging his files into his briefcase to leave for work. Iruoma looked through the window, seeing the neighbors taking their kids to school"you don't need these?" She turned to him " If you keep doing this, then when are you going to be ready for kids. Tell me" waiting for an answer


"Eh--- eh---" he stammered"is not that I'm not ready for kids but we need to be financially buoyant before buying the idea of kids in our home. Don't you understand my plans?" He moved and held his wife.


"But we have little of it, that can make up a big family. We can manage as well"she caressed her husband palm"you know I'm not a lazy type. I work, i contribute for the progress of the family. So tell me how can the kids lack" she drew closer to kiss the tips of his fingers


"But.....Baby we need to make more to cover up expenses" he points to himself"i need to make more dear. I need my kids to live a wonderful life. See i want them to tour around the world... Those families that does these, are there heads better than mine eh. Dear just relax, i know my plans. Just do this last one, i promise you that it wont happen again okay?" He says as he pecked her on her wet cheek.


"You want me to do this huh, what of your mother, will she consider your decision?"looking at her husband


"Yes i discussed the issues to her and she understood everything, so there's nothing to worry about" he assured her


"Baby i can't do this, i can't hurt our kid. Please lets accept our fate" she begs. He hissed and stood up to leave


"You better take this thing off from my sight, unless you want to go to your mother's house and suffer it alone. But just have it in mind. This thing is not mine, because i can never accept this kind of fate". He slams the door and left for work. She shook her head in pity and she went back to their matrimonial room pondering on how to deal with the issues at hand...

"Doctor "i managed to talk"it was really a mistake..... We didn't plan for it to happen"i tried to stop talking but I had no option than to let the cat out"....i was the one that asked her to get rid of the pregnancy, because i told her that I'm not..."i tried to search for a better word but I couldn't"...that I'm not financially stable to take care of kids now..... Now see what i caused her" i lament to the doctor


"Oh my God! You made a very huge mistake" the doctor said looking at me in dismay "what were you thinking, what if she dies on the process..... Hmm"

As soon as my father and the other two Great Elders said their respective speech, everyone present started to run towards the enemy with a bloodthirsty expression, so what if you united, we will crush you! 

This was the thought inside every person fight at this time, to defend their homes, their children and loved ones, to avoid being annihilated, everyone fought together and advanced, the while running, the battlefield was divided into hundreds of parts, on the vast land full of trees, fights started to take place, it wasn't different to me.

Together with me was a kid from the Hyuuga Clan and two other from the Uzumaki Clan, from their chakra reserves, I judged their strengths each to be B+, B, and B+ respectively, we are currently surrounded by a group of kids, around eight, laughing, some of them mocked ''Oh.. isn't here a kid that looks more like a boy toy from the Senju Clan and some weak kids from the Hyuuga and Uzumaki Clan.'' 

Of course, they know our strength because they have a sensor ninja but with their superior numbers, they thought that they could win, I felt a bit annoyed from being called a boy toy, you're just jealous of my appearance, aren't you? Not that you will feel jealous anymore since you will be dead.

''Hyuuga boy, cover my back'' I said before rushing towards one of their kids, the Hyuuga, having the Byakugan, knew my strength and decided to help me, as the enemy kids came towards us with intent to kill, the Uzumaki Clan two kids held their swords tightly before also helping us ''You four will die, stop resisting!'' the enemy kids said before rushing towards us.

Activating my Sharingan, I looked at a kid that was in front of me and as the kid looked into my eyes, he wanted to yell ''You have th-'' before he could complete, I put him in a genjutsu before slashing his throat, just then, I heard someone yelling in anger ''How you dare kill my brother, bastard!'' 

''Don't worry, you will reunite with him very soon, haha'' I laughed coldly before dodging his sword by squatting and thrusting my sword on his heart, with an expression of despair, the kid died. 

Seeing that they wouldn't be able to win against us with Taijutsu, the enemy kids retreated a few steps back and starting to do hand signs, seeing this, the Uzumaki Clan kids also did hand signs, so did I, apparently, these kids were all from Hozuki Clan as they yelled  ''Water Release: Liquid Bullets!''

The Hyuuga Clan is mainly based on Taijutsu and this kid apparently doesn't know the Vacuum Palm, sighing, I said in a low voice ''Earth Release: Mud Wall!'' 

A wall rose from the earth in front of me and protect both me and the Hyuuga Clan kid, that thanked me, the Uzumaki Clan kids were fine as they used a Fuuinjutsu to protect themselves, however, they still had some holes in their arms, some bullets made of water managed to piece their arms, they're an ally so I couldn't just let them like this, doing hand signs, I did a jutsu of my own creation ''Lightning Release: Thundering Nova!''

I made this jutsu based on Rasengan and Thunder Ball, as I did the hand signs, a mass of chakra gathered on my hand before a relatively big sphere made of pure thunder and lightning appeared, the original blue-colored lightning slowly turned into dark blue due to the high density before I simply threw it towards the enemy kids, that couldn't use their Kekkei Genkai to become water, they were in despair as they saw the approaching huge sphere coming towards them.

*BZZZ... BOOM!*

Sound of thunder was heard for some meters as an explosion was heard, a crater was created on the place the enemy kids were, the enemy kids were now completely black, no sign of life on them anymore, however, I still noticed that one of the kids managed to stay alive, apparently, the strongest of them, I didn't put many chakra on the 'Thunder Nova' but it was still enough to kill all of these C+ peak kids, approaching the one alive, I pierced my sword on his heart, finishing his life.

The Hyuuga Clan was more friendly than the Uzumaki Clan kids as I only protected him, he approached me and said ''I'm Hyuuga Tokuma, what about you?''

''I'm Senju Shiro, nice to meet you. Anyway, come here, I'll heal you.'' I replied to Hyuuga Tokuma before calling the Uzumaki Clan kids, that nodded, they seemed to trust me, even though I hadn't protected them, they still knew I'm strong, I also studied medical ninjutsu, though much less, channeling the natural chakra towards the palm of my hand, my hands started to glow light green as I started to heal them, one to two minutes later, their injuries were completely healed.

''Thanks for healing us, recover your lost chakra, we will stay on guard, after that, we will help our comrades!'' The older Uzumaki kid said as both of them stood on guard, Hyuuga Tokuma didn't lose much chakra at all, he said ''No, you can let me stay on guard, with my Byakugan, I can see if there's someone coming at us''

The Uzumaki Clan kids accepted the proposal and started to recover their lost chakra, after 2 minutes, all of my lost chakra was recovered while they took 10 minutes, eight more than me, they looked surprised but shook their heads, sighing at the gap in their talents, even on Uzumaki Clan, they're considered genius but after encountering a random kid of Senju Clan, their talent was already shown to be inferior, however, the older one suddenly thought of something as he asked ''You said that you're Senju Shiro, right? You're the Senju Clan Great Elder son?!!''

I nodded, not seeing any reason to refuse, the older kid sighed in relief and so did the younger one, understanding that it's not their talent that it's weak, but that this guy it's a monster, the older one then said to me, I felt confused of why they sighed in relief but I heard them saying ''So it's Senju Shiro, no wonder you're so strong, well, only someone talented like you deserve Young Miss Mito, after all!''

Yes, yes, I'm so talen- Wait, what the hell? ''What do you mean by that?'' I asked.

''Hm? You don't know? Our Clan Leader accepted to be an ally with the Senju Clan as a result of the Senju Clan Great Elder accepting the request of Young Miss Mito marrying you in the future!''

''Holy sh*t!'' Even with my calm and analytic mind, I still couldn't help but curse out loud but soon after, I calmed down and analyzed things, I know that my father doesn't like using me as a tool for the alliance, principally without my consent but I understand the decision, it would be beneficial for both clans.

The Uzumaki Clan Leader is using his daughter to link his clan to me and my clan and I'll also use him, with this, I'll be able to obtain Fuuinjutsu and the famous Yin Seal, even if I don't love or like her, it will still be useful, with the Yin Seal, I will be able to develop in the future a Seal that will stop the aging of someone, I don't want to see all of my family dying in the future and suffer the curse of being immortal, after all, even if it means using the Uzumaki Clan and Mito Uzumaki, nodding to myself and laughing, I apologized for cursing ''Sorry, I just got surprised, I didn't knew about it, I was training, haha... Hi everyone! I know I haven't posted in a long while, and I'm so sorry- I was super busy with the holiday's buttttt- here is a little Christmas special since I'm finally back!

(This chapter is in Third POV omniscient meaning: This will roam freely amongst all the characters- seeing all their mindsets and such also- nothing in this chapter will be called back to the real story.)

  Everyone was running around for the busiest time of the month- December, where kids smile for Santa and adults get drunk after a long day of crying wallets.  The good days- Sue was gift wrapping everyone's presents and locking them in her closest till midnight, which is when she would essentially pass them out.

  Ad soon came inside the house with a tree; Alyra and Nicole had boxes and bags full of decorations for the tree and home.  They all knew Sue would be busy for a long time- fixing presents, so they took this time to do the house for a surprise.

  Alyra, Nicole, and Ad knew this would be Sue's first Christmas since she's never celebrated, so they all wanted this to be special for her.

  "YO!" The door was bashed open with a somewhat drunk J holding bags of food and kids behind him.  "I GOT THE CHILDREN." he laughed a bit tipsy- "J, SHUT UP!" Everyone yelled at J, who gasped, closing the ears of the three younger kids.  "You b*tches shouldn't say such things in front of kids." he grinned.

  "Say's the guy who just cursed in front of kids." Alyra glared at him- "Look- their ears are closed. They can't hear sh*t." he said as J's sister looked at him with a smile- "We can hear everything." Jas- Sue's little cousin said with his little brother Nate behind him.  "J-Justin- what's a b*tch?" Nate asked as everyone was shocked.  "Uh- you want five dollars? Everyone want five dollars?!" J asked all the kids as they all nodded in happiness.

  "Don't say any of the bad words you heard here today, and you can all get five dollars from cousin Addy," J said as Ad glared- J pushed the kids to Ad, and quickly Ad gave the money with a sigh.

  "You all should go outside and play in the snow," Nicole ordered, taking them outside with her closing the good.  "I hate you." Ad said to J as he shrugged- "You can't please them all."

/Time skip/

  Soon J got bored- "Guys- where the h*ll is mommmmmmmm." "Sue is in her room- fixing the presents." Alyra blurted as she was hanging lights on the wall.  "Alright- Imma go bother her." J jumped up- "How about you help us with this surprise instead?" Ad asked- fixing the tree.  "Nah, you guys can suck my d*ck." J winked at Alyra, who rolled her eyes- "Too bad, I can't find it."

  She and Ad gave off some laughs as J was a bit embarrassed but quickly got his confidence back- "Hey- we match! Flat *ss." He directed to Alyra- "You wanna fight?" Alyra asked as J shook his head- "Nah, but we can play bloody knuckles later." 

  "Bet." Alyra nodded, with J going upstairs and scaring Sue in her room.  "Get dressed- I'm bored." He threw her a coat, shoes and then put a hat over her face- shoving her out of the room and into the living room- pushing her outside the house in the snow with the kids and Nicole.

  "You think he's tipsy?" Ad asked Alyra as she chuckled- "When is he never?" "Fair enough."

  Soon everyone came inside, having a jolly old time while Sue and Ad stared at the tree while the others talked.  "Do you like it? We worked hard- well, Alyra and I did it." Sue smiled and grabbed Ad's hand, smiling.  "I love it, Addy. Thank you." she leaned into his shoulder- happy.

  "EWWWWW ROMANCE! Say it with me, kids-" J said as everyone started to say- "EWWWWWW- I'M SICK TO MY STOMACH." They all yelled- laughing.  Of course, they had dinner with J getting more drunk- the kids messing with their food and the others yelling about monopoly.  "Everyone- hold on. We must pray- to the pickle gods." J mentioned as everyone stared at him.  "Not-again."

  Let's be honest- I don't want to write J's pickle praying, so just- make it up in your head, but he end's up in a pickle suit.

  We move to presents- Nicole gets a bunch of plushies and Asian soda's, Alyra gets some books, Ad gets a few tickets for a trip, the kids get video games or toys, finally bring Sue and J on the stairs together.  She hands him a gift- "Merry Christmas." He smiled and ripped it open- finding seven pickle jars.  He blushed, smiling.  "Have I told you how much I love you?" he questioned as Sue ginned- "Yep." "Uh oh-" J's sister said-

"What's wrong, sis?" J asked as she pointed up; they both noticed a mistletoe above their heads with Ad glaring.  "Um-" J seemed calm until Sue kissed his cheek- "You can't defy the mistletoe," she said as he blushed.

  A knock on the door happened- letting Nicole go over and show a box.  Opening it and finding a panda with a collar- the name "Asia was on it." A note was inside- "For the FG Crew- see you soon." Everyone looked at each other- "Welp- we are getting another one for sure." Alyra nodded.

 I fell in love with her smile because it was odd- her words were sweet, but she looked strange. She acted one way but was another- everyone saw her as a perfect doll, but I only saw a broken girl giving a smile for everyone because it brightened their days- her smile made them happy, and it made her happy too.

He wasn't like regular people; he didn't push me aside- he kept me close. He wanted to hear me, see the real me, and that scared me. He was able to tell the truth, see what others didn't, fight for what he wanted or knew what was right, no matter what I did- he always saw the happiness... why was he ok with being rejected? Why was he ok with pushing me over the finish line? Why was he ok with losing? Why was he ok with anything I said? Why was he ok with me yelling at him? Why was he ok with me? Why did he want me?

After the events that unfolded during the peak of the day, Greg went back to his apartment. He stood in front of the building.

"Shit! I should get in my apartment secretly. That old hag has crazy ears!"

Greg decided on that and stepped on the wooden steps. It made a faint noise that no normal human could ever hear. But Othwyn was not an ordinary woman.

"Greg, bastard! You came back!"

"You really are a crazy bitch, old hag!"

Greg turned around and was about to run.

"Idiot! Wait! I'm not going to ask for the rent- for now!"

Greg stopped.

"How can I believe that statement?"

"There's a guest for you. She's been waiting for you since morning."

"She?"

"Yes, its a woman! And its a serious matter."

"Serious matter? What is it?"

"It would be better if you heard the news by yourself."

"You aren't tricking me right?"

"Mrs Othwyn is saying the truth, Mr Greg."

The woman from the last chapter makes an appearance.

But Greg was able to confirm that the events from last night was indeed true when he saw Olivia waking him up.

"You! Wait, if you're here- that means.... last night-"

"Yes! You have two kids!"

Greg sat up on his bed. His face looked like he was thinking something.

"Humm. I see. How old are they?"

"The boy and girl, both are sixteen."

"Twins, huh?"

"Yea, but they're quite opposite to each other."

"You know, I expected one or two such cases. But not this early. I expected this situation in my late 40's."

"How many women have you slept with, scum?"

"Hey! Don't judge a person whom you've just met without knowing the situation."

"So, what's the situation?"

Greg and Olivia were hiding behind an electric pole near a restaurant.

The United States of America, also known as the United States (US) or America. A country composed of 50 states, a federal district, five major self-governing territories, and various possessions. The third most populous country in the world. The world's oldest surviving federation. A major superpower in all sectors of development. A seemingly indestructible nation.

But then the civil war occurred. The pro-president and anti-president factions collided in which it seemed like the anti-president faction was emerging victorious. But the tides changed when the president sided with a vicious organization and gained the power of the supreme leader. He died soon after, leaving his son in charge. But he made a law that bans the use of firearms to the people of USA. America was rag-dolled. The country which boasted tremendous power turned into a mere puppet of this so-called dangerous organisation.

Anna POV:

I feel the sun rays hurting my eyes but at the same time feel the cool morning breeze through the window, then I realized that it was already morning. 

It would have been great if it was just a good morning but unfortunately it was a late morning!!!😠

I look to my other side to find the bed empty. Don't worry, it's not anything serious. It's just me searching for my perfect half who didn't wake me up. Note the sarcasm.

Where's Steve? I wondered but then, I look at the time on the side stand and realized it was totally a late morning. Shit! I am late for work.

I got up from bed in the speed of light, I washed up, that too in the speed of light (😂 hahaha it's true). 

I took out my clothes from the wardrobe in a hurry. I settled for a white coat and a black skirt. 

You know what, I love coats. It may be because of my profession but even if it was not, I would still love coats. I feel confident when I wear them. And last but not the least, my best weapon, high heels.🤩
I hurried downstairs. I can't help but smile when I saw my little angels, they are so cute. 

Oh! Let me introduce my two cute kids who are God's best gift to us. They are Susie (6 years) and Adam (4 years).

I saw Steve preparing breakfast for the family. He is so good with kids. Sometimes I even feel helpless in front of him but at the same time I feel like the luckiest woman on earth. He is so perfect. 

He was ready to go to work, he kissed the kids on their foreheads and bade goodbye.

Oh, you must be wondering why I don't get that goodbye kiss, right? 😂 It doesn't mean he doesn't love me, It's just that I told him not to do so (not a big fan of PDA). 

I take a quick breakfast and the kids nanny arrived. I kissed my kids goodbye and left them with the nanny.

I ran after Steve and pouted angrily since he didn't wake me up this morning. I demanded an answer since I am late for work because of what he did. ( Literally, he did nothing wrong, I am just being spoiled 😋). 

He smirked at me and say softly, 'Sweetheart, you were so cute while sleeping and you looked so tired so I couldn't bear to wake you up'.

I immediately gave in because he was so handsome. Even after all these years my heart still beats fast when I look him in the eyes (the heart is always honest, right?). I asked him to drop me off at work since my car was being repaired.

We set off in the car, I was completely clueless and sat there staring blankly. I heard someone calling me and it was Steve, he said 'Seatbelt'. He is always careful of safety, maybe because of his profession. I fasten my seatbelt.

It was a peaceful day with all the trees blooming with flowers as it was spring. On the way, when I look out from the car window, I saw a middle aged lady who reminded me of our nanny (Steve and mine) who loved us like her own children. 

The very thought of her sudden death leaving us in this world is horrible. She was like a mother to us. She was a kind lady who taught us the values of lives. It is not completely wrong to say that we could become what we are today because of her. 

I looked at Steve and asked, 'Dear, do you still miss Nanny May?' Its been 7 years since her death. He answered, 'Yes, she could never be replaced in our hearts. She brought us together, we will forever be grateful to her even if she is no more'.

- Has a blue mohawk styled hair; he's not really tall but not small of stature either'
- On the other side, on his left side he has a sword
- He doesn't seem to talk much when not required
- He indulges in killing for a coin
- Doesn't care much about his crewmates
- He also traffics people when he has the occasion
- Has a bounty of 85.000.000 belies and quite notorious around South Blue waters

2) Darrell Graham
- The one who is the manager for the underworld auction house which is part of a larger corporative form of auctioning lead by Du Feld ( The underworld emperor)
- He was part of Golden Lion Shiki grew when the man was in his prime, but later find his way back to his natal lands of South Blue;
- He's part of the lower branch of the underworld
 -Appearance wise he's an old man wearing a monocle on his left eye
- He seems an amiable man when talking to Dethel Blokted, not hurrying nor being to slow he keeps a steady flow of his auction house business
- He checks every kid and tells the people taking part in the auction their selling point, which exposes his attentive side to bussiness or more sinister side of liking to in control of all things
- Not much is known about how powerful is the old man, if he eat a devil fruit or not, if he knows haki or not, neither his wanted bounty;

3) Mayer Loftso:  - Introduced in chapter 7;
- for the most part of the first arc (Slaver Arc) he will be one of the first enemies of Vlad's journey to greatness;
-  he's the fat businessman who bought Vlad and other kids from the auction house at a cheap price;
- He is small of stature, has brown eyes, also very fat, has small hair, and a bald spot on the middle of his head;
- he likes to wear jewellers on almost all his body, even his clothes are embroidered with gold and jewels;
- He has a fetish with regards to his wealth;
 - He doesn't like kids or share his wealth with others, seen on the scene where he doesn't even want to buy Vlad's a meal;
- He doesn't like when people make fun of him, over his back or especially on his face;
- He is a greedy prick who would do anything to get just some more bellies on his pockets, seen in the scene where he buys Vlad and the other kids for cheap knowing from the beginning that they will not last long;
- he's one of those influential people in the Kingdom of Kaysang and respectively the capital city Sangletius for owning the rights to mine the kingdom's mine and so having a company for dealing with those minor things.
-  he also dealt with trafficking of people from little kids to adults, it didn't matter for him. He had a powerful noble to back him up, but would that matter?;
- He's first seen wearing a long-sleeved shirt followed by long sized trousers, he had around his neck a heavy gold necklace, on his hands, he was wearing on all his fingers a ring that had a gemstone in them;
- he has his little finger bitten out by MC after a conflict of "interests";
- He will have an interaction with Vlad after 4 years since he was bought and placed into slavery. He will come to see him tortured, a fate that will be reversed soon or later on him;
- His fate is already clouded by death energies since his first interaction with Vlad

- appearance in chapter 7
- her appearance was only stated to be beautiful enough to smite men, however, compared to the femme fatale's such as Boa Hancock or Nico Robin, she's lacking but compensates with her mature charm;
- She's first seen wearing a wealthy dress, and bidding large sums of money on the underworld auction from this results that her status in the society circles of Kaysang and Sangletius is not low at all;
- She seems to pick a curiosity for Vlad since the time of meeting him on the auction stage, seeing that Vlad's expression was not normal for someone his age; However this is all the info with this regard to their exchange for now ( To be updated)
- She's a capable woman, also the independent one to survive in the dark world of prostitution or other sectors like this;
-She seems to like to buy girls from the auction house ( for what reason? To be found out in later chapters)

[Start]

The scooter slowly goes down as we reach the front entrance of the school.

We landed and I hopped out of the side carrier. I take in the view; awe.
I could hear children laughing and shouting. Just like my school, but way more happier.

The gates open and a crowd starts moving away from the gate. Kids didn't know somebody was coming.
It was silent for a while while the kids just stared at me.


  "Come on, shoo! Go back to class." Hagrid stated.


There was some whining and boo, but they didnt wanted to argue any longer. Off they went to their classes while I stay behind with Hagrid.


  "Kids." He mumble while shaking his head.


He gestured to me to follow him.
We went through many hallways that didnt have windows, just open space.
We walked for a bit more before stopping. I look out into the open and it was already pretty dark.

I looked back to Hagrid. He was about to open a door, but stopped in midway.


  "Its a coincidence that I had to pick you up during the beginning of school. Luckily for you, you'll be able to make friends at your table group."


He finally opens the doors. Bright light shine from the room. It blinded me for a second before I adjusted to it.

Four, long, wooden tables were filled with kids. It looked like the kids were ranging from the ages of 14-18--like highschool.

A long column that went straight through the four tables. At the end of the column, kids were lined up.


  "Go on, get in line with the others. You'll be assigned to a table once you get to the front of the line." Hagrid said.


  "Ok..." I mummbled.


They force you to sit in table groups!? I rather sit alone then be forced to be friends with other kids.


  'I just want to hangout with Magnis again.' I thought.

I saw two empty seats on the aisle near the back of the bus. I plopped down into one of them and shoved my backpack under the seat in front of me.
Some kids near the driver were tossing a

were singing a camp song I knew from my
old camp.
The bus made a roaring sound - and lurched
forward before Heather sat down. She fell on me,
and her elbow jammed right into my gut.
"Oof.'
Did that hurt? Three guesses, and they're
all yes.
My sister didn't apologize, of course. Instead,
she pulled herself up and yelled at the bus driver,
"Give me a ding-dong break!"
That made some kids laugh. Heather didnt
care. She sat down and started talking instantly
to the girl next to her.
I turned  at the kid next to me. He was
staring through big black-frame eyeglasses at a
manga book in his lap. He was moving his lips as
he read it. He didn't look up.
Why didnt he say hi or something? I guessed
maybe he was shy.
He as about my age . He had white-blond
hair cut really short and pale blue eyes behind
the glasses. He was maybe the palest guy I
ever Saw.
You know what flashed into my mind? A zombie in a movie I watched over at my friend's
house a couple nights before.
The dude wasn't a freak or anything. It's just
that with that white-blond hair, everything
blended into everything.
And he was wearing a white T-shirt and baggy
white cargo shorts.
And what was he squeezing in the hand
that didn't hold the manga book? Was that a rab-
bit's foot? your backpack?"
did raise his eyes from the comic, though.
"Where's the rest of the rabbit?" I asked. 
I know it was a lame joke. But Ithought it was
a little funny. He smiled. But he didn't laugh. He held up the rabbit's foot. "It's kind of a good - luck thing," he said. I took it from his hand. Yucko. It was wet from his sweat.

Heather." I pointed.

car horn honked. I couldn't really hear him.

think you're gonna need good luck?" I asked.
I handed him back his rabbit's foot. "You really
 his shrugged his narrow shoulders. " I heard
out this camp" he said softly.

Somekids at school said stuff about snakes in

turning to me. Behind his glasses, his eyes were wide. The kid really looked frightened.
"These kids read about it online. They said the counselors make you swim with the Snakes,"
 Roddy said. He twirled his damp rabbit's foot in his hand, "You have to swim
across the lake. And the Snakes...the Snakes will..."
I felt sorry for the dude. Some kids at his
school told him a bunch of baloney, and he
believed it.
"I tried to tell my parents," Roddy said. "But
they thought I was making it up so I wouldn't
have to go to camp."
"You're a first-timer, right?" I said. "Don't you
know kids always tell scary camp stories to
frighten new campers? It's just what kids do.
You know. It's a tradition."
"Not this time," Roddy said. "They didn't
make it up."
The manga book fell out of his lap. He leaned
down to get it. When he sat back up, his face was
still filled with fear.
"Know what they call this camp?" he asked.
"Sure," I said. "Camp Hither."
No, he said, shaking his head. "Everyone
who goes there calls it Camp Slither. Because of
all the snakes.
I laughed. He looked so serious, I just couldn't
help it. "Roddy," I said, " I've been to two different wilderness camps. Camps are fun. I had an
awesome time. So will you."
He swallowed hard. Those kids told me other snake stories.
"They made them up!" I cried. "They were
He stared at me.
""Tell you what,"_ I said. "Lets ask some kids
who were at Camp Hither last summer. They'll
tell you the truth."
 I stood up. The bus was filled with Campers. Every seat. Kids were laughing and talking.
cupped  hands around my mouth and Shouted, 
"Hey, everyone! Everyone! Who was at this camp last year? I need to tallk to you-"

around and went back to what they were doing.
I dropped back onto my seat. "Weird" I
