Jean comfortably sat on the new cushioned bench in front of the renovated organ. "Dominique" by The Sung Nun played as Jean sang alone, practicing his vocal skills. Jean offhandedly thought about the finalizing of proprietorship documents over the next few weeks. 

The Church let Jean buy the private property of the Renningberry Catholic Church because they liked him: Jean was devout since his childhood, actively helpful in the community, and purely celibate, which easily let him enter Diocesan Priesthood. Jean would've been the next Pastor it weren't for Jean being Asian, Vietnamese at that, and Murphy Steinly, a jealous old codger who wanted the prestige from the title of a Pastor.

Jean was wealthy and not shy in providing donations, like his investments in spreading Catholic schooling. His funds went to needy families, like Jean's when he was younger, and the homeless. Jean also paid for construction projects all across the United States, like new statues of Virgin Mary, Jesus, angels, and saints, or new Churches and Cathedrals. 

Jean's money let him into get into advanced studies for an even more solid background with college degrees. He was in an accelerated curriculum and could easily finish in a few years. His mother and father were proud since their two sons were well off and Jean sent them tens of thousands of dollars each month. Of course, Jean also occasionally visited to upkeep his appearance as a filial son. This included his brother, whose identity he used to gamble with and tie in a relationship as his broker.

For his new religious property, Jean installed stained-glass windows and several frescos to make his Church more holy and elaborate. Almost all the refurbishing was complete, with air conditioning needing some final rehauling. Jean even secretly made his own secret room from his office and a secret passage in that room leading to the sewers. The privacy and freedom made him feel refreshed.

Jean stopped to look at his watch, seeing it was almost time. He didn't sing anymore songs, but finished playing the rest of the accompanying Gothic music.

Cicadas buzzed loudly in the summer afternoon. As the Sun still hung high, a constantly present and suffocating heat swept the streets. The recently dried paint job on the Church differed from the older buildings around it. Most hailed from the Baby Boom.

A light knock resounded off the re-varnished door. Another hesitant knock followed, with a small pause. Then, the door opened and slowly shut, light steps coming in. Pale white legs moved quickly, swaying their worn baggy shorts.

"...Father Jean?" called out a young girlish voice. Jean stopped playing.

"Jeremy! How have you been doing?" Jean warmly spoke. He turned around and stared with his deep, profound eyes.

"I know you're starting high school next semester, so it should be quite hard for you. The transfer in curriculum and social pressure must be suffocating. It's hard to know what to do with your future. 'If you fail under pressure, your strength is too small.' Proverbs 24:10. You should be able to handle the problems God gives you as a test of your faith in Him."

Jean knew "Germy" Jeremy Quince, or the "sick" kid of the neighborhood. He was always an outcast, disappointing his father who kept growing more distant from him. He mostly relived his time with his late mother, when times were better.

Jeremy was strangely petite and acted like his mother. He practically was a growing girl, yet not at the same time. It's why he had severe problems socializing, which worsened when his bullies took his money, his food, his friends, his fun, his time, and nearly his every waking moment away. His Garden of Wonders helped pacify his nature, despite being repeatedly ruined.

Jeremy leaned against a nearby pew. He rested his head on his hands. His long blond hair swayed when he looked away, totally unable to meet Jean's eyes. Instead, Jeremy's cerulean eyes focused on the colorful stained-glass windows, specifically on Jesus being crucified.

"Father Jean… Can I confess to you about something?" Jeremy twiddled his fingers. The long sleeves of his shirt rested on the wood, covering the rest of his arms.

"Yes, you may, Jeremy. Many have spoken to me about their troubles. It's not embarrassing to ask for help from the Servants of God. 'Remember this— a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop.' 2 Corinthians 9:6. We reap what we sow."

"This… isn't like others. It's a secret no one else knows! I… can't deal with it all on my own anymore!"

"Oh?" Jean raised his eyebrow. Considering his social network and comprehensive knowledge of bodily gestures, Jean predicted it was finally time. Jeremy was being bullied for this exact reason.

"I… think I… like…" Jeremy trailed off and bent back. His small hands covered his small, pinkish lips. He couldn't show his face without reddening in embarrassment.

"Go on, Jeremy. God shuns no souls who seek guidance," Jean reassured him.

"I think I like… men? Whenever I get aroused, it's only from looking at boys. No one likes me because of this, but will God still love me?"

Jean smiled warmly. It was easy for him to notice something queer. Inconsistencies built up from noticing all the tiny details of everyday life and all of it hinted at this. With this, Jean gained a convenient and malleable pawn. He only needed to apply pressure from the others, give double entendres as advice, and play dumb for the bodies to pile…

And considering the news yesterday, Jeremy's homophobic aggressors Brad, Chad, Will, and Hank died unexpectedly from poisoning. Jean had no doubt Jeremy's castor beans refined themselves in his vengeful anger. All those days spent caring for Jeremy culminated into a repenting sinner at Jean's feet...

"Do not fret, Jeremy. 'Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud.' 1 Corinthians 13:4."

John stood up and walked into the colorful light as the Sun started setting. He looked like a blessed saint sent from Heaven. 

Jeremy stared in stunned adulation. Yet moments later, he began tearing up.

"Father Jean… my secret is darker than my lust for men."

Jean laughed maniacally in his mind, but only showed a gracious and sympathetic face.

"Please, Jeremy. Let God absolve you of your sins! Take your time to rest your burdened soul here!" Jean hugged Jeremy close to his chest. Jeremy hugged him back, crying silently.

"...Yes, Father Jean."

"Oh? You're sweating quite a lot. I should get you a drink. A hot summer day is exhausting to walk around in!" Jean wiped Jeremy's wet forehead and tears with a handkerchief from his robes. Jean gently grabbed Jeremy's wrist and the boy flinched at the touch. 

Scars. 

Still, Jean left the handkerchief in his open hand.

"Thank you, Father Jean. You were always there for me, when times were hard."

"I try to help my fellows of faith," Jean chuckled. He couldn't wait to start his fun.













When Jeremy woke up, he couldn't see. He was slightly thirsty and also had a slight headache. A few seconds later, like any normal person, he panicked. He flailed around wildly, strangely not feeling restrictions but hitting against a stone wall.

"Father Jean, you're a rapist too?!" he screamed internally.

All those moments Jeremy thought he could trust him… just like that, he was drugged and captured. It wasn't too different from Pastor Nick's behavior.

"I should've known he was crazy too!"

Jeremy fumbled around the dark. First, he checked his crotch and butt. Luckily, Jeremy felt like he was untouched. He laid on what felt like a bed and pillow, with a blanket over him. 

The space was cramped. There was hardly enough room for him to fully stand up.

His hands felt around the wall. He started to lose hope after a few minutes of futile searching. Then, a faint sound came from behind him.

Jeremy grabbed the blanket and prepared to throw it. Even if it was Father Jean… he did not want his first time like this.

"He's coming, isn't he?" Jeremy thought.

A scratching noise slowly bled in a little light. The wall moved over to reveal a secret passage. There, Father Jean stood with his school bag. He put a gloved finger to his lips.

"Shhh. They're searching for you above us. You have to run," Jean whispered.

Jeremy felt confused.

"What do you mean, Father Jean?"

Jean chuckled.

"I may be a priest but I'm not completely clueless. I should have helped you more and showed those boys the path of God. Now, it's too late. I know you're a nice boy, so I had to do this for your own safety."

Jean opened the passageway to the sewers. He handed over the bag. Jeremy dumbly took it, still in shock.

"Go! Before it's too late! Live your life, repenting for your sins! You can't do the work of God stuck in prison or when you're dead!"

Jeremy started crying. He bowed.

"I misunderstood you, Father Jean! Thank you for everything!"

Jeremy slipped out, soon stepping into the noxious air in the sewers and nearly throwing up.

"Eurgh! ...Um, Father—"

"Go! We don't have time!"

Jeremy cried for a different reason this time, but left nevertheless.

Jean stared at him until he truly went away. He quickly closed up the passage and began cleaning up all the traces of Jeremy.

"What comes next depends on you, Jeremy."

Jean grinned widely. 

"Will you still trust me? Or will you become suspicious because of how much society has hurt you?"

He laughed, knowing the waiting game continued. Any of the results still was a win.






Jeremy spent hours lost in the sewers. He looked in his bag and only found his life's savings, his most personal belongings, a bit of food and a bottle of water.

"Couldn't you have given me something else? This place is a maze!"

Jeremy slowly got used to the odor. If he didn't, he would go insane. His breath got shorter and he felt winded. Father Jean gave him strength but it could only be so much.

"Might as well take a break."

Jeremy didn't know where he could exit safely so he chose to keep walking until he found the end. For now, he took out a ham and cheese sandwich.

"Mmmh."

Jeremy ate slowly. He unscrewed the cap of the bottle and gulped down with vigor. 

"Ah! Hits the spot!"

Jeremy regretted his bloody hands. Maybe there could be something between Jean and him? 

Bah. 

It was too late.

Jeremy continued walking, saddened at the loss but determined to make the best of it. After a while, his stomach started hurting.

"Maybe it's killing me being in the sewers. They are really dirty."

Jeremy tried finding an open manhole cover but each of them were locked in place. The pain kept building like a hot fire in his body. It burned and cut through him. Hours passed.

Soon, Jeremy couldn't go on. He coughed up blood, unable to breath properly.

His last thoughts dwelled on why Jean sacrificed his life when he went through all this trouble to help him escape. Jeremy died in a bloody pool of his own insides, longing for love and affection.






Time passed. The unprecedented situation erupted, completely unlike the few deaths that hit the streets in the past years.

Four kids poisoned to death by ricin in school: the son of a barber, the son of an office worker, the son of a manager in IKYEA, and the son of a high school teacher. The case went even deeper.

Jeremy Quince became notorious. The news said he was a psychopathic homosexual bent on killing other young boys for rejecting his love. Families panicked as they hid their children from this menace that also slit the throat of nine pedestrians before he killed his own father and went into hiding. 

Days later, investigators discovered a disturbed manhole cover near Jeremy's home, which led into the sewers. They found the bloody knife and a whole week of searching found Jeremy's decaying corpse. He apparently suicided when discovering he couldn't find another way out.

It was a travesty for the city of Overman's Park. An uproar against the gays swept the American nation, with calls for more safety regulations on gardening and patrols on the street. The city responded with lackluster enthusiasm, shifting public focus more to homophobia than to waste more time roaming the streets to find nonexistent criminals, as Jeremy Quince was an exceptionally unique case.

And where was Jean in all of this? Jean played the part of an upstanding citizen, advocating for God's grace instead of revealing his brutal nature. He was sated recently when cutting down those innocent people. Still, he had to address the bigger issue at some point. Aggravated racial undertones by the incident caused hate to fly his way, despite his stellar performance. It didn't help that Jeremy lived on the same street as his Church.

Thus, Jean made a plain speech free from his usual religious banter. 

"I know you all question the sanctity of the Catholic Church and if the homosexuals are predators looking for our children."

The congregation angrily spoke about proper punishment set and given to the homoerotic sinners. They would gladly stone a gay man if they had the chance.

"Forgive me of speaking this in front of children, but they must know," Jean said solemnly. A few families left with their children as Jean waited in a bated pause.

"Lawrence Murph, the priest from St. John's School for the Deaf, who molested boys in the Wisconsin suburbs of Milwauke decades ago. Jon Geoghan, the priest who was prosecuted in Cambridge, Massachusetts a few years ago for sexual abuse of over a hundred boys. Jon Hanlon, the Roman Catholic Priest, who has his paedophilic history and currently is in court in Massachusetts for raping two boys many years ago…" he rattled off.

The Catholic Church was under heavy scrutiny, especially with the homophobia craze and the exposing of predators in their Clergy. The Pope struggled to deal with this, let alone Jean.

"Even Pastor Nick was shockingly a rapist of young children. Yet this does not stand to reason with our anger. Already, heavy efforts are carried out to purge the Catholic Church clean. Our officers patrol, day in and day out, investigating suspicions and putting their lives on the line. Lawmakers are advocating for reform. There is no need for panic. Homosexuals are not evil spawn! It is the Devil of Lust that leads them astray!"

"Yeah right! Says you, the rich and corrupt Chinese man!" shouted the hairy Mitch.

"The Chinese are the problem!" said Gary.

"No, it's the f*cking gays!" said Herald.

"We were talking about the rapists in the Catholic Church, you idiots! They are the problem here, poisoning our family values!" screamed Beth.

"We need to stand together! Do not cloud your judgement before you see who the man in front of you is! Together, we can root out the evil around us! Together, we can defend ourselves, our children! Together, we can carry out God's graces! Together, we are America! Only together can we overcome these troubled times!" Jean clasped his hands together.

"Bullsh*t!"

"Crazy f*cking priest!"

"Why'd I even come here anymore?!"

"We're leaving!"

"Don't ever tell us how to think! We can protect our own families!"

"Bet he's a closet gay! All Catholic priests are, nowadays!"

The congregation stormed out and left. Surprisingly, not a single person stayed to listen to Jean, despite his reputation.

"Typical Americans…" muttered Jean.

It didn't matter that he lost the public's support. He already accounted for this. 

Jean just had more free-time on his usually busy hands now. 

With more time, Jean could cause more deaths.

And with more deaths, Jean could gain more support.

It was an endless cycle.

Jean would manifest his own destiny.

The camera views the actions of an aspiring serial killer.

They were able to avoid pointless confrontation and everyone returned to preparation. The base was surrounded now with the platform that can be used as the survey platform around the walls. They also build some fences so that they don't have the risk of falling down accidentally. The whole group also begins on building the Guardpost tower to help survey the area surrounding the place. The back portion of the base is also building a similar Guardpost tower however, they have no choice but to slowly make it. The back portion of the base is not that troublesome and rarely, the undead do not really wander the back area. Might be due to the slope that made the undead falling when they tried to climb up. Still, the dead are not something they can underestimate. The dead seems getting stronger and plenty for some reason and they have to be sure that they won't be having trouble with it.


The Household Group brought the dinner with them. Before the battle, they needed to have a hearty meal first to last for the night. Pastor Shin lead the prayer for the food. Since not everyone are Catholic they just bow down to pay respects while Steven, Nathalie, Cindy and Risha are catholics and also did the sign of the cross. The prayer of Pastor Shin was very heartwarming, allowing them to feel the peace and gratitude to God for a while.

The hearty and happy meal lasted for a while before everyone returned to their jobs. Kyosei suspected that the dead are still evolving and he suddenly remembered that the spawns are still around the nearby houses. Kyosei remembered that the Mosquitoes did not appear last night making him sigh in relief. However, now, he almost forgot that there are spawns around the area. The mosquitoes are troublesome enemies during Night Rage. If possible, destroying them before they mature is the best and probable way of eradicating the Mosquitoes.

Kyosei ordered everyone to continue the survey and he will do an extermination process to do. Everyone nodded. Guarding the base is the most important thing and while the Night Rage is still not occurring, they have to make sure that there is no danger lurking in the surroundings. Kyosei also explained that he needs to look for some spawns. It will be really troublesome if they needed to defend against the dead and also defend against the Mosquitoes. That will be too tiresome.

After obtaining everyone's agreement, Kyosei brought the AR15 with him. He can't possibly smash there and risk himself getting infected by the hatched spawns. Since it is already almost nighttime, Kyosei begins to pack up a lot of bullets. If he is caught up during the Night Rage, it will be too hard to return back into the base.

Kyosei arrived in front of the SUV. He looked at it and he felt that he want it replaced with a Pickup Truck. It can also be good to attach a crane on its back and the pickup truck has a good amount of storage space. Looting a lot is not a problem and many items can be stored. Moreover, he can contract Big Man Joe to refit the car. Kyosei shook his head before he goes inside the car. Kyosei wanted to play safe. If he saw a horde, he can just ram the car directly into them, which will be an easy way for destroying a horde. He did not mind damaging its bumper. Cars might be good rammers but he can't keep on relying on it. The dead are all easy to kill, just ram their heads into the ground, and bam, you killed an undead without help.

Souichi and Nejima opened the gate and the SUV reeves up. Nanami pull her thumbs up meaning that everything is ready. Kyosei steps on the gas and the SUV pulls out and speds out of the streets.

Day 3: 4:39 P.M
Osaka Streets
Time before the Night Rage: 1 hour and 21 minutes left

Kyosei steps on the gas and not too far from him is the horde that passed by silently from the base. Hearing the revving engine sounds, the undead look at the speeding car and shows their hungry faces, ready to jump towards the car. Kyosei has no intention on stopping the car and with another push on the gas, the car speeds up to the group of the dead. In result, mashed up meat pastes slams into the car. Flesh and blood are all splattered into the windshield and the bumper of the car. Kyosei cared less about it. The dead were bulldozed by the SUV, breaking them all without thinking twice. After making sure that the horde are all smashed on the streets, Kyosei stopped on the nearby streets. Finding the Spawns are not easy. He might stumble on them but he is not quite sure about it. And the time is getting limited.

Kyosei randomly enters a building. Holding the kukri and the Colt 45 on both hands, he walks inside. The interior of the building are dark. It might be difficult for Kyosei to see so Kyosei uses a flashlight to light up the area. Since the flashlight is attachable into the head, Kyosei attached it to be more convenient in his situation.

Kyosei proceeded carefully into the darkness. He is not sure if spawns are in here and hoped that there was a nest so that he could hunt the other places and finish it before the Night Rage begins.

In the area where it seems to be an office has two undead standing there motionlessly. Kyosei sneak on them and uses his kukri to stab into the other one and kicked the other one, causing it to fall down, in which Kyosei took chance to pierce its brain.

Kyosei proceeded to loot the area but did not find anything useful except for the smartphones that they possess. Kyosei moved around the area once more and seeing no enemies, and signs of spawn, Kyosei has no choice but to switch another building. Before he can move to another building, something fast movements caught his eye. It is abnormally fast and he didn't get to see it directly but he is sure that it is not a human. Kyosei gritted his teeth. Another enemy perhaps? He was just looking for the spawn, this is not good. And for some reason, Kyosei can feel the bloodlust on the surroundings. The dead are now evolving, Kyosei can feel it. This enemy is an evolved form if not a mutated one.

Labeled as a delinquent and bad influence, high school student Kyosei Ichinose choose to stay out of the people around him, indulge himself to his headphones, pick fights against other people and stay alone. 

He was later famous for being a dangerous fellow that even his fellow students and his teachers feared him.

One day, everything is normal until the world is now in turmoil after the appearance of a mysterious disease that turns humans into mindless cannibals, infecting humans all around the country in an alarming state.

After receiving a distressed message from his former friend, he reluctantly returned only to find the school overrun by the dead. Armed with his house keys, a revolver and a duffel bag containing a few items to aid the rescue, he returned to the school without knowing why he still need to rescue a former friend.

The security guards were also scared that some in their mind they had already decided to quit this job, one of the security straight up, run to his carter and took all his belongings and said to his colleagues as he was running "  they do not pay me enough for this bullshit", the dude did not even use the door, he jumped through a window at ground floor of the mansion
The head security remained calm and corrected and he made a decision in spit of a second and he ran to the master wing," ko ko ko ko" he knocked the door very hard, he nearly removed.
Jane was already awake because she felt something was not right, she opened the door and found a very exhausted head of security," why are knocking my door ", he replied, "the young master is floating ".Jane was confused, she entered her room and took grass and filled with water and gave it to the security guard.
"Now can you please tell me what is going on," Jane said, the head of security replied, " your son seems to be possessed by something he is floating inside one of the carters of the nursemaid".
Jane did not even wait for the security guard to finish she ran past him, when she saw her baby floating she fainted, john came running in after a while, and he saw his son floating and hi wife was unconscious, immediately he panicked and went for his phone and searched on internet baby floating what came as the search result terrified him even more.
So he took the key of his car and drove to a catholic church which was near, as he reached the church he crushed into a cross and his car was overturn and he went in a coma for a few hours when came back it was near morning and he saw that the car was not in the correct way, he used an iron rod to crack the back window of the car.
As he moved out he saw the church was a few meters away and he wandered how can he crash and none of the priests were alerted by the noise of a car crash but this did not raise suspicion of anything, he went and found the church was open as if someone has broken through.
As a priest emerged to prepare for the morning mass as he does every day he saw something that shook him to the core, they were bodies of dead people in the church as he was observing the dead bodies, he saw a young man around his early twenties and that was the last thing he remembers for that moment, he woke after few minutes in his bed and it terrified him
He went again to the church to prepare for the mass as he was preparing for the mass, he heard the church door open, and his mind hinted back to his nightmare because he was sure that they closed the front church door after the previous night mass.
So he said a short prayer and said "the mass is not ready to start please have a seat" but he had a cry of a man as reply, the priest said "what worries you my son", the man replied " I  think my son is possessed by the devil himself" the priest was shocked so he said another prayer in his heart.
"can you tell me why you are saying that", the man replied "before I came to consult you, my son was floating in the middle of the room" the priest considerately was an exorcist so he thought that this was a beacon of help

After I graduated from secondary school I started working in a boutique as I hated being idle for long. My mind was a dangerous demon when left idle so I tried to keep it busy lest it led me to sin.

Even though I was lazy and loved my sleep I needed money of my own so I had to sacrifice my sleep. A very painful sacrifice.

We were a catholic family and I still believed in my faith as a Christian. I tried not to miss any program during the holy week no matter the situation. I still believed in God. He was the only thing that I believed in even though I could not see him. The only invisible thing I felt was visible. I believed he was visible because I could feel him. He was more real that any other thing.

On good Wednesday, rain fell heavily in Warri and I had to run to Church under the rain. Dirty rain water from the road and cars splashed on me as I ran to church, but I didn't stop or look back. I wanted to fulfil my obligation as a catholic.

I wanted to feel connected to something.  

When I got to the church I sat at the back hoping to have some peace while my clothes dried off.

Just when I thought I had succeeded in avoiding everybody I saw Peter and I smiled at him. He waved and smiled back.



 Peter was an old friend all the way back in my primary school. Funny enough he still looked the same as he did then when we were kids. Seeing him now I started to remember how I met him and how we played when we were little.

He left his pew to come to mine as there was still space on mine.

He was average in height and thin. I was fairer than he was a little even though he was quite fair. My friends used to laugh at me in secondary school. They would say I escaped being an albino, but I took it in good faith, I was prettier than they all were. 


I knew this not because everyone told me but well because I had eyes and a mirror.

Peter looked thinner than he was the last time I saw him and his face was rougher. Maybe he was getting thinner because of boarding school stress, I guessed_ or it was something that was hereditary because his little sister Yole was like that too. I actually warmed up to him when he came over which was very unlike me to do when I see an old friend,


"Long time, how's school? I asked, smiling. He was shy and shy boys were my weakness. I loved the weakness of others. They made me ignore mine. It made me feel stronger to see that others were weaker than I was.

"School is fine, why are you wet he asked?" Hmmm wet, I wanted to ask what he meant by that but only a fool won't know. He was talking of my dress_Idiot! I thought, laughing to myself.

No dirty thoughts Mira. Mira....no dirty thoughts.

Even if I didn't engage in romance in high school, my classmates and friends never stopped saying sexual things to me.


 They opened my eyes to things that they explored and wanted me to explore too, but I was too scared to. That was then, now, I started to warm up to the idea, to try one or two of those things they talked about and made to look so fascinating.

"I work far from here and I had to come under the ran."

"Oh." He looked at me for like a minute until he noticed that I was getting tensed up under his gaze, then he faced the altar.

Just then my prayer book fell from my legs where I had kept it. I bent down and purposely brushed my boobs on his hands which rested on his legs.

"Sorry." I whispered to myself, while sitting up straight. I mentally cursed myself for doing it. It was on impulse but it felt good to have a mans hand touch me there. He didn't look like he noticed or he was just really good at hiding his emotions.

A girl I knew from church came to stand behind the pew where I was sitting and I guessed she wanted to talk to me about something I didn't care about.


 I wont call her a friend even though we said hi to each other whenever our paths crossed in church. I was very picky when it came to friendship and she wasn't someone I would like to call a friend.

She said 'Hi' to Peter and he ignored her. Normally that would make me mad but strangely it amused me.

She bent down so she was at ears length with me, "Can we talk outside?" She whispered.

'OK" I replied. I was curious to know what she wanted to say. They say Curiosity kills the cat, I hope it doesn't kill me though. "Excuse me Peter, I'm coming now."

Peter didn't reply, he looked as if he was pissed with something but I didn't know what it was. I would ask him though, if I can, just not now. For now I needed to hear what Chisom had to say that was so important that she couldn't wait until mass was over.

"You kill all the people that touch me for touching me only? Or is it just a habit of yours_ Killing people?" I dared to ask.

 I was shaking so bad and my hands were sweaty. I was visibly perspirating even though the Ac was on. Still, I just needed to get all these questions of my chest. He was acting so strange and mad. I knew that I would end up dead either ways. Whether I spoke up against him or not I was still going to end up dead. So why be silent?

He started walking towards me, and with each step he took further I took one back in fear and desperation to create space between us, until I was backed up against the wall. He stood so close to me now I was practically breathing his air. 

"Like I told you in the very beginning when we first met, You're mine! And when something is mine no one touches it. So when another man wants to touch you beg him to stop not for your sake but for his. No matter how many they are or how minute the touch is they will end up below the ground the moment they do. You are mine."

Their spells and incantations are often derived from their Book of Shadows, a 20th-century collection of wisdom and witchcraft, and can be compared to the act of prayer in other religions. A modern-day witchcraft potion is more likely to be an herbal remedy for the flu instead of a hex to harm someone.
Today's witchcraft spells are usually used to stop someone from doing evil or harming themselves. Ironically, while it's probable some historical witches used witchcraft for evil purposes, many may have embraced it for healing or protection against the immorality they were accused of.
But witches—whether actual or accused—still face persecution and death. Several men and women suspected of using witchcraft have been beaten and killed in Papua New Guinea since 2010, including a young mother who was burned alive. Similar episodes of violence against people accused of being witches have occurred in Africa, South America, the Middle East and in immigrant communities in Europe and the United States.

Pinaka heard the chief and looked at him skeptically.. he said, 'I understand that the treasure is enormous.. if we move it in open now.. will it not attract attention and make it easy for bandits or greedy neighbors act against our country? ' Pinaka said, 'he is our Raj guru.. he is here to help you keep the evil force at bay.. ' the chief nodded and said, 'holy one.. please help us.. ' Raj guru closed his eyes and chanted a prayer.. he removed his Garland of Rudrakshas.. held it in one hand.. then removed the holy Ganga water.. he mixed Vermillion in the Ganga water.. he walked towards the chief's chair and said, 'chief, hold this lemon in your hand.. ' the chief stood up and placed his right hand palm upwards.. Raj guru placed a lemon on his palm.. then he started uttering a holy chant.. they were able to sense ripples in the surrounding air.. Raj guru sprinkled holy water on the lemon, drop by drop.. the lemon slowly turned red.. then Raj guru said, 'evil is here.. summon your sorcerer.. ' the Chief summoned the sorcerer.. he came.. the sorcerer looked mysterious.. he had beads around his neck.. he was naked except for a piece of cloth covering his private parts.. he looked as if he was in a daze..he was muttering to himself.. he saw Raj guru and said, 'I tried everything.. nothing worked.. ' it seemed as if he already knew who the Raj guru was..there was a familiarity in his tone..even the Raj guru looked at him as if he knew him...the ways of spiritual people were mysterious....Raj guru said, 'it will take the two of us to ward the evil away.. but we can do it.. '

The Raj guru held the sorcerer's hand and chanted a prayer, then said, 'you need to concentrate and find where the evil is currently located...the exact location... I will do the rest.. ' the sorcerer closed his eyes and sent out his spiritual sense.. he opened his eyes in few minutes and pointed a finger towards a direction.. there was nothing there.. the Raj guru immediately tossed the Garland of Rudraksha with force.. it stopped in mid air.. the beads of Rudraksha freed themselves from the string and got alligned in a circular fashion.. then Raj guru sprinkled Ganga water at that region and shouted.. 'reveal your self.. ' a clear ringing laughter filled the area.. 

Everyone was shocked.. the laugh was high pitched.. slowly there was a flashing light in the area surrounded by Rudraksha beads.. there was a black smoke that emitted and took a shape.. the figure represented a perfectly proportioned woman but the figure was filled with black smoke.. there were red horns on the head portion and white vampire teeth protruding from the mouth area.. nothing else was visible..

I didn't even bother turning this into an Auxiliary Chapter because of how deeply relevant I find this in the current landscape of fiction. Too many stories show Evil as 'illogical'. It is bad and therefore causes tragedy, which angers me greatly.

After all, have the history of humanity been built upon peace talks and kindness? Did love and pacifism win wars or violent means used for chivalrous ends? In the end, are the acts we commit for the so-called 'right cause' any difference from violence to those of the other side of the conflict? Who decides what is 'good'?

I've seen too many stories describing hatred as a sin. Even righteous fury is no longer 'righteous' when put under the introspective lens. The most earliest to depict righteous fury in a negative light was Shakespeare who wrote of a man killing a path to take vengeance on his enemy without caring for those who stood in his path. Yet why do I feel his take more carefully written than ninety percent of Webnovels nowadays that shows evil as 'illogical'.

Evil IS NOT ILLOGICAL! It is human nature that we taught ourselves that causes us to commit Deadly Sins, our Original Sin of Vanity showing in even the most virtues of man who considers himself to be worthy of being loved as a 'Hero' or 'Do Gooder'.

The act of virtue has been overstated as the most logical thing to do, even though even the smallest acts of kindness we do isn't because it's at the base of our nature but because our parents had hammered in what it means to have 'good will'.

This is not to say that 'Evil is Right'. After all, we only call things 'Evil' because we know the wrongness of whatever we label as such. What I am trying to say is that you can't dismiss the logical cruelty of humans who seek convenience.

To put it into some sort of context. Let's use the old Hero Vs Demon King Trope as a template.

Whenever I read a story with this trope. What I naturally always see is the words 'Demons are Evil and Humans are good without question, that's why they go to war'. I know there are also stories that flip this and make Demons the good guys in Summoned-Hero-Seeks-Revenge stories but that doesn't change how childishly 'evil' is being used.

We are all predators who devour those who are weaker and less intelligent than us. Then suddenly these stories where another species that is our natural enemy comes along and suddenly they are depicted as Evil instead of humanity's rival species.

With powers based of Deadly Sins... Though they sound cool, display no understanding of what Evil actually is. Why is it that when this trope is used to depict war, it is nothing like Attack on Titan despite having the elements needed to become like it?

The 'Demon Race' in these stories are never depicted as the catholic supernatural entities that tempt people to do evil but are always just another breed of humans. Since what Writers are using what is essentially another-kind-of-humanity against regular humanity, why not show just how brutal and senseless war can be at times?

How some people tend to prolong a war and increase hatred between nations to the point that both sides would find peace to be impossible after they have lost so many. That's just how wars are.

In the end, it's just like how the Peter Capaldi 12th Doctor Who said in a speech about war. It is just meaningless deaths used to show off military strength until peace talks that should have been done from the beginning are done in the end.

But enough about 'war' in particular. Let's get more into what brings about the 'act of evil' itself.

Is it greed, selfishness, anger? You'd be right if you picked any one of these as your answer, but has anyone ever cared about cruel acts done for the sake of 'goodness'? I know killing a psychopath or locking him up is good for everyone, but what happens if someone who considers himself to be on the side of 'good' decides to torture a criminal?

Because the Policeman or Warden is part of the law and is thinking righteously, it would be celebrated as a 'good deed'. Even though such torture at the end of the day would help no one with anything. What is 'good' about this violence?

A more robotic person would of virtue would say that such a criminal should be behind bars or executed depending on the country's law, but would such an act be 'humane' if the person killed was extremely close to this Policeman or Warden?

What would be more 'humane' is inflicting vengeance on those who took something from you rather than robotically choosing what the world says is the better option. I'm not saying that vengeance is better. It DOES leave one empty and they DO gain nothing in the end other than some level of satisfaction, but that's all there is.

Some people unconsciously know that what has been taken from them cannot be given back to them. However, why would they care? Humans are dictated by what we are taught, and when basic human nature says that we MUST do as our heart tells us, then how does 'virtue' into this equation?

Doing the right thing is usually a convenient thing that can make us look better. There are people in the world who would help up someone who fell because it's convenient for their image but not donate to charity since it's inconvenient to their wallet, and such people are fine in my opinion. The world wouldn't make sense if everyone was 'good'.

It is fine for most to be skeptic about doing the right thing, because a kind main character who can show them such virtue would surely change them for the better. Why would people care about good deeds is everyone was doing it on a regular basis?

My point in this Analysis is that people are fine being human, both Evils and Virtues included.

There's no need to praise humanity as the ultimate good guys in stories because really... we're are just not. We are lazy and need things to motivate us constantly, we are glutton and don't appreciate our food nor the people we hold close, that's just what we are... Humans. Simply, us: flaws and everything.

This is a story I worked on ages ago that has been refined and edited by adding foreshadowing to events while also simplifying the power system better than before. This story can be considered a prequel to An Adventure Beyond Greatness as it takes place years prior to the events of that story.

Short Synopsis:
After retiring from the battlefield, my life became empty and lifeless. The regrets of my past haunt me in my sleep. Then a change occurred, a King from another world summoned me to fight for his kingdom, but I died even before I could give him my answer. Now, after a fake God allowed me to reincarnate (albeit imperfectly) with my memories intact, into a world filled with magic and swords.

Long Synopsis:
This is about a flawed protagonist who only knew to rely on others and not socialise who gets a second chance to change himself in order to live the life he aimed for in his past life. The narrator isn’t exactly trustworthy since it is purely in his bias perspective while other perspectives given by others fill in the blanks that he either leaves out or twists to suit the situation.

The story itself can be considered a parody of Isekai’s classic tropes which are given a sense of reality as time goes by. As there exists no ‘Demon Lord’, there is also no black and white, only characters opinions and counter-opinions throughout the story.
