Entering the dining hall was quite overwhelming at first but Uteu was more interested in listening to his siblings talk about their days. There was a huge painting of Grello attached to one of the walls and Uteu had to pause to look at it.

"Oh its big bro Grello!" Uteu reeled back in shock to look at Ulo who had sparkles in his eyes as he looked at the painting.

"He was taking care of you when you were sick!" Uti piped in.

"He's so nice! He gave us lots of coloring books and snacks. Oh! And told us every day how you were doing!" Ulo said, the sparkles in his eyes intensifying.

"Shouldn't you call him uncle?" Uteu asked in amusement.

"He told us not to call him uncle. Cause uncles are unreliable." They said at the same time.

Uteu quirked his head at their words but brushed it off as Grello wanting to sound younger.

They headed over to the long table and enjoyed many dishes cooked for children. Uteu felt nostalgic as he ate a bit of everything. He hasn't had food like this in a while.

He was normally the one that cooked for them. But back in the day it was their caretaker that used to make these childish dishes for them. Ulo and Uti ate happily and they continued to tell him about all the things they were able to enjoy in the mansion.

They mentioned their favorite maid, Minh and least favorite maid Lia. All the things they loved to eat and how great the food was. They always had their favorites every day but some things they didn't like would be added in sometimes.

They even mentioned how big bro Grello would ask them kindly to eat their veggies. They'd be shaped in fun shapes so they were fun to eat, even if they tasted a little icky. Their favorite maid would give them peanut butter or ranch for some of the veggies to make it taste better. Big bro Grello even mentioned how proud Uteu would be of them.

They even told him what they would usually do during the day and which maids they interacted with the most.

Uteu smiled as they rambled on and on. The familiar chatter during dinner was exactly as he remembered it. It was also just what he needed for his nerves.

Finally, a bit of normalcy without having to worry about strangers or near death experiences.

He felt grateful for his siblings and frankly, he was also grateful that they didn't remember him being stabbed. He wanted them to retain their innocence a little longer.

When they finished eating, two maids Uteu didn't know the names of, cleaned up without a word and disappeared as soon as they were done.

Uteu's face turned solemn as he looked at the twins.

"Ulo. Uti."

Catching onto his mood, they quieted down and turned to fully face him.

"What rules did big bro Grello give you?"

Uti had a finger on her chin in thought as Ulo tried to recall, "Big brother Uteu needed his rest so we couldn't go find him on our own. We had to wait for him to find us... Not to go outside the house without a maid by our side and..."

"Oh! And to let a maid know if we ever needed anything! To use this whistle if we ever need one." Continued Uti as she pulled out a white whistle from under her clothes..

"Don't open the door for anyone. Don't go with any strangers ok?  You two know about stranger danger, so I'm counting on you two to remember."

Ulo and Uti gave him a look as if to say, "Duh!"

But Uteu wouldn't let them go until they agreed.

They got up and he followed them to their room. It was a spacious and warm room with small windows that no one could climb in and out of.

Two identical beds with cartoon character themed sheets and blankets were pushed together against the wall. Small drawers on either sides of the bed were opened and clothes were messily stuffed in.

Uteu gave the twins a look and they sheepishly inched away to deal with their mess.

"I don't remember you having these before..." Uteu said as he looked at the designs of the clothing they were folding. They looked new, with a lot of their favorite characters on them.

"Big bro Grello got them for us!" The sparkles came back into Ulo's eyes as he folded quickly.

Uteu was surprised. He guessed Grello thought of everything. Now that he thought back on it. The twins didn't have that many sets of clothes when they stayed over at his place.

It wouldn't have been enough for however long they needed to stay here.

When the twins finished tidying up, he ushered them off to go brush their teeth. He honestly didn't know where their bathroom was and hoped it was nearby. The twins pulled open a door on the opposite side of the room, past a low round table with crayons and coloring books out.

He entered their bathroom with them and saw cartoon stools for them to step up to the sink to brush their teeth. Uteu heard buzzing as they used their cartoon themed cups and electrical toothbrushes and dried their faces with their cartoon themed towels. Uteu felt helpless. Their big bro Grello was spoiling them.

The two pulled their stools over for a quick shower. Uteu asked how they normally got showers. He looked at the open shower and drain and cute shower curtain. He turned the knobs and quickly got the water at a nice warm temperature.

"Minh would give us a shower. She was really gentle with our hair." Uti said as Uteu pulled out a cartoon themed tears free kid shampoo and conditioner.

Uteu hummed and had them wash their bodies as he worked a lather for their hair. He rinsed them off and they quickly grabbed their big fluffy cartoon towels and dried off. Uteu found a small hair dryer in one of the drawers by the sink and dried their hair.

"We missed you so much big brother." Uti said as she hugged him.

Uteu almost melted into the hug. He patted her hair and as he tucked them both in, they yawned.

The door creaked open and Uteu almost flinched. He quickly turned to to door, stiff. A maid with short wavy brown hair nodded politely at Uteu and pulled out a a children's book. Uteu visibly relaxed.

"Good evening, I am here to read the twins a story, unless sir would prefer to?"

Uteu almost agreed, but the twins decided for him.

"We like Minh's voice! Please read to us?"

Minh smiled and replied, "Of course little ones, I would love to read to you."

Uteu didn't have the heart to stop her and nodded in approval when she turned to him. If he didn't know enough about her from all of the twin's retelling of these past few days, he would have felt weary leaving the twins with her.

He watched as she pulled out two stuffed toys from the closet and handed them to the twins before pulling a chair over and dimming the lights. She left one bright light for herself to read.

When she softly told them a story he didn't recognize with emotions and different tones for all the characters, he suddenly had a thought.

This was similar to what a mother was like, wasn't it? He could see why they wanted Minh to stay and read them a story instead of himself.

A Chain is all that kept the Earth intact.

From a Chain to it's Links. The many connections helped to stabilize the Earth.

Uteu Drelden one day finds himself plunged head first into the many conflicts that arises when the Forging of the Chain is activated prematurely.

Now, rather than stabilizing the Earth, all the Chains were now draining the Earth of it's vitality.

Uteu must remove the many Chains to keep his family and friends safe.

However, he will slowly realize that all the connections in the world are much more complicated than he first believed.

The hell, who knew that his father was hiding so much from him... and that magic was real?!

Angor took a turn in the air to gain a better view. This time, he saw the man sitting by the table… or not. Angor could not call it a "man" from its looks.
To be precise, it was a small bunny wearing a gentleman's attire. Should he call it Mister Bunny?
Less than half a meter tall, with a pure, snow-white coat, and long ears showing a pale pink color inside and decorated with soft, furry fringes. Its eyes had the color of a crimson gem, embedded on its adorable little head. The ears were almost as long as its own body. If one ignored all those strange decorations, it was just an extremely cute rabbit that could easily make any girl scream in delight.
Angor would have fallen in love with the creature too if not given the circumstances. Now, he already raised his alertness to the best extent and no longer had the mood to admire the rabbit's cuteness.
Most of Angor's attention was on Mister Bunny itself.
Its clothing was the biggest difference it had compared to regular pet rabbits. It was not wearing anything on the bottom. There was a tailcoat with lace edgings and red diamond patterns on it. A black top-hat sat between those ears, and a small badge with a smiling face hung on the edge of the hat. The most attractive piece was the small, gold-rimmed monocle over one of its eyes, which gave the adorable bunny some gentlemanly look.
Also, Mister Bunny was not sitting on the chair as Angor thought. It was floating in front of the table, with its eyes fixed on a thick book with a violet cover on the table.
Angor circled around Mister Bunny and realized that it would not pay him any attention, just like the other creatures. It might be that it was simply too focused on its book and never noticed the sudden visitor.
After roaming around the hall for some more, Angor only felt more and more curious about this world.
Was this really a parallel world? Did he just transmigrate? He could not get an answer at all. More importantly, he was no longer sure if he had passed the talent test.
As he fought with all the confusion, an idea suddenly crossed his mind.
No, the idea was so abrupt that Angor did not even know if that was his own idea, or it was someone else's. It was telling his mind to get back to the closet.
Getting back to the closet from where he transmigrated here… That was all the idea told him.
Without a doubt, Angor agreed with the idea. He was not sure where it came from but he trusted his instinct.
As he turned to leave the hall, he heard the sound of turning pages from Mister Bunny not far from him.
Angor turned back to look at the violet-covered book the bunny was reading and suddenly stopped his movement for some reason. He quietly floated to Mister Bunny and checked out the content of the book.
The book was standing on the table. The book cover was clear to read. There was nothing special on it, kinda like a romance novel loved by noble ladies.
There was a line of strange symbols at the top. Angor could not read them. It was probably the title. Then there was a cartoon-style picture below and a simply sketched castle in the background. There was a blurry cartoon girl in the foreground - red hat, long, curly brown hair, blue skirt, and white shoes. The facial features and her clothes were all not very detailed, like something drawn by children. The use of colors was great though.
A castle and a girl… Is this one of the "princess tales" Teacher used to tell?
All bedtime stories Angor ever knew were told by Jon when Angor was small. Most of the stories were about ancient figures which meant to lecture him about human virtue. A small part of them was Grimms Fairytales. Angor never liked them, but he still remembered some of the names, such as the famous "Princess Snow White" and "Cinderella".
This was why Angor instantly thought about those stories when he saw the cover drawn in a little girl's style.
He did not think about the cover for much time. He could not read it anyway, so he floated behind Mister Bunny and began reading the book.
He saw the content of the book just now and could only make out that it was a picture book.
Angor could not understand any of the words, but he could still speculate the story by the pictures.
It seemed like a fairytale.
A girl bumped into a strange land. She could drink some wine to become small as a rat or eat some cake to be as big as a giant. There was a bowl of mushroom soup; drinking from the left made her shorter while drinking from the right made her taller. With all of these surprises, the girl started an amazing journey with strange creatures.
Angor enjoyed the story. He felt somewhat familiar with it, but he quickly put that emotion away to keep reading the book.
Time passed. Things around him were becoming weirder, but Angor realized none of them.
Firstly, Mister Bunny was turning the pages along with Angor's reading speed. Next, the plush owls, poker soldiers, bunny teacups and rainbow dragonflies on the other side of the hall all came around him. However, Angor was totally attracted by the beautiful journey in the story and was completely oblivious of his surrounding.
Angor did not take any of the abnormalities to heart. Instead, he joyfully placed his own spirit together with the girl in the story. 
Angor felt himself becoming the main character of the story and running after a talking bunny.
Everything was beautiful. All creatures here had peculiar looks, but they all showed kindness. Angor even thought that this was the wonderland.
As he kept himself immersed in the wonderful world, a sharp cackling came from the castle far away.
"Oh no, the Queen of Hearts is here! Shava, you need to leave, or the queen will turn you into a card!" urged the talking bunny.
The Queen of Hearts? Leave? Shava?
Angor stared at everything with a blank face. 
Who's Shava? I'm Ango—An—Huh? Who am I?
He realized something was wrong.
He recalled seeing the bunny in tailcoat in the manor castle, and the bunny was—wait, what was the bunny doing?
The beautiful journey in Angor's mind instantly shattered into pieces. He knew he forgot something, and he knew he must remember it!
He screamed with his mind, but his memory kept falling apart until he could not even remember what he was doing just a second ago.
"Eeeheeheehee—"
"Shava, what are you doing?? Run! The queen is coming!" The bunny dragged Angor's hand. "This is dangerous, you need to go to my rabbit hole to escape!"
Next, Angor was unconsciously led away by the bunny.
The mountains afar were still booming with green, but all the fantasies now carried a lifeless strangeness.
"My rabbit hole is right there. Get in and let me deal with the queen," the bunny said before he pushed Angor.
Angor fell onto the ground with a trip.
The bunny was still urging him to get inside the hole, but sudden alertness came about Angor's mind.
"Get back to the closet."
The message appeared inside his head abruptly.
The closet? Angor's once blank expression turned sharp. He remembered the closet! He also recalled that he was taking his talent test, and fell into a strange parallel world for no reason, and a… a reading bunny!
When he realized everything, the world around him shifted. All became nothingness.
The "rabbit hole" was replaced by a bloody maw filled with sharp fangs. The adorable bunny behind him also turned into a tattered ragdoll with patches sewn all around it.
Angor stepped back, then quickly ran away from the maw.
As he left the area, he found himself back at the hall where Mister Bunny was.
He was no longer relaxed as before, however, because he just noticed that a group of card soldiers had surrounded him…


A young traveler who receives enlightenment from another civilization is on a mission to save his beloved mentor. In his journey to seek the ultimate truth, he travels extensively and along the way, he experiences some unpredictable encounters. Will he be able to save his mentor or will his path be derailed?

I have been awed by the mystery and the powers of the elements since I was a kid. I think I ought to give credit to all the anime cartoons that was available in our time, especially when it dominated the Philippine Primetime shows in the 90's. I also caught the Funny Komiks fever which is actually quite an integral part of my childhood as I've learned to read and associate the words just by looking at the pictures – all by myself and with my twin brother, KC. This culture pushed me to draw pictures and cartoon characters that led for me to be creative, ultimately finding out that I can make and invent stories of my own. 

As my skill advanced from the traditional stick figures, I needed a challenge and by the age of eight, I have started to make my own stories loosely based on the arena-type battles such as Dragonball Z, Pokemon, and Flame of Recca. We don't have much money then so we have to improvise to hone our craft. After the end of our school year, my twin brother and I used to pull the spring from my notebook and compile all the empty leaves to stitch 'em up together to form a thick notebook to make my cartoon stories – my very own comic book. We have made tons of it, usually strips of stories that ranged from ten to twenty pages at most, but by the end of my first year in highschool I finished a full length comic book story called "Pyrobot" – a robot created to protect the Earth similar to Combatron and Megaman. But this didn't make me happy though. The plot of the story is quite juvenile then, so I plotted a story – a serious one that touches topics of mystery and gives tales of adventures made by an entirely different civilization. That's when I conceptualized "The Omegatribe", which is the book's original title eleven years ago. I tried to plan it to fruition but then school made me extremely busy, it forced me to just put a pin on that project. 

Graduation came fast which made me happy for a bit thinking I could start the project in hiatus but lo and behold, college revealed to be my enemy too. I tried drawing slides and planned to color it in the computer by scanning it and rendering it on Photoshop but all was in vain as this takes too long a time to continue. This project is going down the drain and I could feel the urge of giving up but luckily, God has given me a window. He led me to our college publication, The Business Access Magazine, and this gave me the necessary foundation to make me adept in putting my thoughts into words. After gaining my bachelor's degree in Management at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, I finally vowed to finish the story I started on 2003 and turn this comic book into a novel instead. On January 2009, I started to write it all up. It's quite hard at first as I have been writing it while taking another degree in accountancy at the University of the East. Also, the challenge is the research and plotting the story to make it complete. This ate time that it took three years for me to finish it and another year and a half to revisit the story: to create a time table, assign the time frame, and identify the lunar faces on each chapter. I have finished writing it on the same time I passed the board last year on May 2013. I have to thank God for this miracle as I couldn't have done it without his blessing, guidance, and inspiration. It's quite a challenging adventure, one that I am really thankful to experience.

When Bathala created the world, He made sure that the Earth will be safe from the Mortals: the Men and Women of the Earth. Their potential for evil has saddened Him deeply. He has to go away to create Paraiso but He needs to protect them from destroying themselves.

To make sure that life will prosper on Earth, He has blessed three righteous tribes and mandated them to protect the Fountain of Life from being corrupted. The Fountain seeds green life on Earth. Without the fountain, life will cease to exist.

The three tribes that are led by Nagozul, Yagisiv Haya, and Daomagar, left their villages and created their dominion on Bathala's three islands collectively known as The Holy Lands. Their purpose: "Protect the Fountain of Life at all costs." They have been true in following their holy edict and have proven themselves to become the Holy Sentinels of the Lands of Bathala. They have maintained the secrecy and the anonymity of the Holy Lands with perfection as life continued on Earth.

Tens of thousands of years later, the Kingdom of Nagozul has now grown arrogant and has disobeyed Bathala's mandate. An impending doom now shrouds the Holy Lands. Extinction of the mortal race is upon them and the fate of the world is at stake. It is up to the brave Holy Sentinels, the young Princes of Nagozul, to complete the mission and save the souls that are inhabiting the islands of God.

After receiving a call that the eighteen-wheeler with the machines and raw materials in it just passed Chupungyeong (a mountain pass), Gun-Ho called for Director Yoon.
"The eighteen-wheeler just passed Chupungyeong."
"Okay, sir. I will prepare immediately a 30-ton forklift, a jib crane and a freight lift elevator."
Director Yoon was now working for Dyeon Korea as a director who was in charge of general management. Since he was an executive officer, he had his own office. Gun-Ho wanted to make sure that everything was ready to handle the necessary moving and installation when the machines arrived, so he asked Director Yoon again,
"The eighteen-wheeler that left Busan City will arrive here around 12 o'clock. You sure we will have everything including the forklift truck ready by then, right?"
"Yes, don't worry about it, sir. Once the machines arrive, we will move them to the production worksite with the forklift truck."
"Hmm."
"Once we put the machines in their place that we prepared for them, we will need to connect them to the power and cooling system before we could test them."
"Hmm."
 
"Also, we are expecting to receive 50 tons of raw materials. In order to efficiently store them in our storage, I think we need to install maybe a three-tier shelf in metal. I believe that Director Jong-Suk Park is the best person who I can discuss it in details. I will talk to him about it."
"Are you saying that you want to store the raw materials on a shelf?"
"I think that's the best way to store them. We might need more shelves later once we pick up speed in our business. We now start with 50 tons of raw materials, but later we will possibly handle hundreds of tons of raw materials constantly."
"Does that mean we will have to pick up the raw materials at the customs in Busan City every time we receive the shipment?"
"No, sir. We sent our three employees to Busan City this time because we will have to move the equipment, but for raw materials only, the customs compliance service provider can handle them for us."
"Busan City is too far from our factory. Can we receive the shipment at Pyeongtaek Port instead?"
"I believe we can receive raw materials at Pyeongtaek Port, if not for the machines. I think Mr. Adam Castler will have to talk with Dyeon America to arrange the location though."
"Hmm…"
"It's windy and the level of Asian Dust is high today. I think you'd better stay in the office, sir. Once the shipment arrives, we will take care of it."
"Hmm. Hmm."
Gun-Ho cleared his throat and went back to his office in Dyeon Korea, and started reading the cartoon book which GH Media had sent to him the other day. His office was cozy even on a windy day. A lot of natural light was coming into the office. The office was filled with the orchid plants that GH Mobile's customer and vendor companies sent to congratulate on the new factory construction, and the flowers were giving off pleasant scents. Gun-Ho enjoyed the moment where he was reading a cartoon book in his large office that was filled with orchid flower scents.
 
Gun-Ho fell asleep while reading the cartoon book, and he woke up to some loud noise. When Gun-Ho heard people yelling, he walked to the window and looked down. An eighteen-wheeler was in the factory yard and a huge forklift truck was moving busily with Jong-Suk's scream.
"Hey, Mr. Driver! More to your left! More and more. Sh*t! You almost hit the wall! Manager Park! Don't touch that!"
They were making a lot of noise. Gun-Ho could hear all sorts of sound from the forklift truck, freight lift elevator and some other noise from machines and tools.
Gun-Ho walked down to the factory. When the three workers who just came back from Busan saw Gun-Ho entering the area, they walked towards Gun-Ho to greet him,
"Welcome back, folks. The equipment looks great."
Gun-Ho looked at his watch. It was after lunchtime, around 1 pm already.
"Why don't you have lunch first?"
"We will eat our lunch after unloading the shipment, sir."
 
Director Kim asked for the assistant manager.
"Hey, Mr. Park, let's place an order of our lunch for delivery. I think Jajjangmyeon* will do fine."
"For everyone here, sir? I think we have about twenty people."
"Let them choose from Jajjangmyeon*, Jjamppong*, and fried rice. If you go to the container office, you will find the phone number of a restaurant that you can order those foods from. The number is attached to the wall."
"Yes, sir."
The assistant manager moved around quickly among the twenty workers to take their lunch orders.
"Mr. Park, I will have Jajjangmyeon*."
Gun-Ho shouted to the assistant manager,
"Are you having lunch with us here, sir?"
"Of course."
Gun-Ho sat with his employees, together with the truck drivers and had his Jajjangmyeon*.
 
When the workers had almost finished their lunch, the assistant manager distributed coffee in a paper cup to everyone there. The coffees were from the vending machine in the container office.
The assistant manager seemed to be feeling good and excited since he was recently promoted to his current position. He was three years younger than Gun-Ho, and Gun-Ho sometimes found himself treating the assistant manager in an informal and comfortable way.
"Sir, why don't you go back to your office and take a rest. The worksite is too noisy and not very organized yet."
As Director Kim suggested Gun-Ho, Gun-Ho went back to his office on the second floor after lunch, and he continued to read the cartoon book for a while. Once he finished the book, he came back to the worksite to see how things were going.
"The forklift truck driver already left?"
"Yes, sir. He left at about 3 pm. The driver for the freight lift elevator left right after he finished his Jajjangmyeon*."
Dyeon Korea hadn't purchased its own forklift truck yet. If they had to buy one, a 5-ton forklift truck should be large enough to handle their raw materials. This time, they leased the huge 30-ton forklift truck to move the machines they received from Dyeon America.
 
When Gun-Ho looked around, he saw Jong-Suk who was taking a break. He was holding a paper cup of coffee and he was smoking a cigarette while standing near the fence.
"Director Park, you did a great work today."
"It's part of my job."
"Are you coming back here to work tomorrow?"
"Director Kim asked me to come here tomorrow. The people in our factory in Jiksan Town wouldn't like it though."
"Why don't you work in the Jiksan location in the morning and come to this Asan location in the afternoon? That's what I do these days."
"I don't know."
While Gun-Ho and Jong-Suk were conversing about the work arrangement, a Starex van entered the factory gate, and three American men got off from the van. They were the engineers from Dyeon America. Manager Kang picked them up at the airport that morning. Once they got off from the van, they went straight into the office building without noticing that Gun-Ho was standing in the yard.
"Bro, I guess you'd better go back to your office. The American engineers have arrived."
"It's okay. Director Kim and Mr. Adam Castler are in the office."
"I want to talk to them before we start installing the equipment."
"Do it tomorrow. Those engineers must feel very exhausted after the long-hour flight."
