On the TV screen, a pair of figures confront each other while the wind billows dramatically. Surrounding the pair is absolute carnage, men and monsters battling for their lives while fires rage in the background. A young woman clad in a red gown cowers behind one of the combatants, her face fully hidden by a crimson veil. Her protector is a well groomed and richly dressed man in flamboyant robes while his opponent is a cloaked brute wearing a metal face plate that towers over both the man and his charge. 

"Oh save me, Prince Enma!" the woman in red cries. 

"Monster, you will have to get past me!" the anime representation of Enma declares heroically while he swings a short sword about. 

As the monster, no doubt a representation of The Voice from what I know of this world's background, begins to explain in painstaking detail how and why Enma and Fate are doomed, I snap my fingers in front of Alley's face to bring her attention back to me. 

"Eyes here. Not on the TV." I say, "You understand what you need to do?"

Alley resolutely ignores my prompting and keeps her eyes pinned on the pub's TV, pouring her full attention towards the monster chortling at how completely screwed Enma and Fate are. Which according to anime logic, means that the monster is going to get it's ass handed to it in short order. 

"Hey! Pay attention!" I bark to no avail. Alley continues to ignore me, watching the admittedly awesomely animated fight scene between the monster and Enma taking place on prime time TV. She's really starting to test my patience. 

"Stop wasting time with her." The Voice grumbles, and I am inclined to agree. 

I wind my arm back and bitch slap Alley squarely in the cheek with a thunderous smack that resounds across the pub. The pub's other patrons turn to look at us as Alley's face snaps at close to a right angle from the impact. The other patrons quickly go back to their own business, ignoring Alley as she rubs her sore cheek, a trickle of blood running down her mouth. 

"You paying attention now?" I question harshly, "Or do you need a remedial lesson?"

Alley glares sullenly at me as she responds, "You hit me."

"I can break bones as well." I shoot back, daring her to test me further. In the background, the anime monster roars in defiance as it flails ineffectually at cartoon Enma. Alley just lowers her head in hostile silence. 

"You want me to participate in a crime." she finally manages to say. 

"As the getaway driver." I roll my eyes as I clarify, "All the heavy lifting will be done by me. Will you just relax?"

"You're asking me to take part in a kidnapping!" Alley nearly shrieks but manages to stifle her cry at the last minute. 

"Love and Justice will always prevail!" cartoon Enma pronounces from the TV. Sure, whatever you say fam. 

"You're already a criminal." I point out to Alley, "I have no idea what you're getting so worked up about."

Alley twists her fingers together in a knot but keeps looking down, wrestling with her anxiety and doubt. Good thing I had prepared for this eventuality. I pick up the plastic bag at my feet and slide it across the table towards Alley. 

"Half now. The remainder once the job is done." I say. 

Alley unties the bag and looks inside, seeing the rolls of freshly spawned cash, courtesy of The Voice. She quickly pushes the bag away, as if it is filled with venomous snakes. 

"I don't want it." Alley whispers, "I don't need it."

"Yes, you do." I smirk, "How long do you think the Academy is going to keep a Head of Administration that has been picked up by ORPO?"

"I was cleared. There were no charges." Alley hotly rebuts.

"That can change anytime the boss wants." I snarl, "It could even change tomorrow."

"THERE IS NO ESCAPE." anime Voice bellows at the top of its, well, voice from the TV. 

"I helped you! During the attack on the Academy!" Alley wails, tears building in her eyes, "Isn't that enough?"

 "And you tried to sell me out while in police custody. Anyway, I had told you before." I tap on the table, leaning forward to emphasize my point, "You're part of our little gang now. Understand?"

Alley reluctantly accepts the plastic bag full of cash and slowly nods. Took her long enough. 

"You got the plan down?" I ask again for confirmation. Another unenthusiastic nod from Alley. 

"Alright. I'll pick you up from your home when its go time. Be ready." I say as Alley jerks back in shock from my pronouncement. I sigh at her display before confirming, "Yes. I know where you live as well. So don't even think of cutting and running."

"NOTHING CAN STOP THE DARKNESS THAT IS TO COME." Wow, anime Voice is way more dramatic than the actual article. More entertaining too. 

Alley slumps out of the pub with the bag of cash cradled in her arms like a baby. Well, that sorts that out. I signal one of the waiters to place an order of fried chicken and turn to the window, gazing at the burned out husk that is Ascension Tower looming in the distance. 

"That took long enough." The Voice harrumphs, "At any rate, the pieces are falling into place. My own preparations for the mission are making good progress as well."

"We did quite a number on Ascension Tower." I muse before turning back to the TV to see cartoon Enma getting his face broken by the monster, "Hey, I got a question for you."

"Ask." The Voice rasps. 

"There's a cartoon screening on prime time giving the hidden low down of this world." I whisper, "But nobody knows anything about Fate and the hidden war. Why is that?"

"Never! I will never give up on Anri!" cartoon Enma shouts to the animated heavens. 

"I could ask you the same about your own world." The Voice rasps, "The greatest mysteries are usually hidden in plain sight."

"My world? What are you talking about?" I blink with surprise. 

The Voice laughs in amusement, "The bat god Transmigrator. I understand his battles with the entity known as the clown across your reality are stories worthy of legend. Yet no one takes those stories seriously despite almost everyone having at least some knowledge."

"Wait. Are you for real?" I almost jump from my seat, taking the waiter bringing the plate of fried chicken by surprise, "You're claiming all that shit in comic books is true?"

"Who knows?" The Voice gives a verbal shrug, "I am not at liberty to divulge the secrets of brother gods to a mortal. Though that hypothetical certainly got you thinking, did it not?"

I smile apologetically to the waiter, a hawk man, as he sets the plate down in front of me. Wasn't I served by him the last time I was here at this joint? And how in the world did he injure his arms to the extent he needed to bandage them up to such a degree? 

"Yeah it got me thinking alright." I murmur once the waiter has moved away from my table, "Pretty scary how people will just ignore something if its obvious or outrageous enough."

"That principle applies to gods as well." The Voice continues, "For instance, I knew of the precursor legacy, but completely overlooked Fate using it to its advantage. Thankfully I was able to survive my mistake."

"AAAUUUUUUGGGGGHHHHH." cartoon Enma screams as the woman in red fires off animated hearts in his direction, causing his body to blaze with power. 

"He sounds like he's in the middle of taking a huge dump." I dourly remark. 

"Garbage. Complete garbage." The Voice rumbles unhappily as the anime continues to run on the TV. 

"Oh yeah? As an action flick its pretty good though. Its really cheesy though." I remark as Enma gets his mid-fight power up and begins mercilessly belting anime Voice with that short sword of his. 

"Justice! Truth! Looooove!" cartoon Enma trills on the screen as he prepares to deliver his finishing move on the monster. 

"Feeling sore?" I giggle quietly to myself. The Voice just makes an annoyed huff in reply. 

Cartoon Enma performs an over elaborate slash with his short sword, filling the TV with CG effects. The monster as expected topples to the ground completely defeated and Fate rushes into her husbando's embrace. 

"Why isn't the ultimate attack the fire of perdition?" I question, "Isn't that like, Enma's entire thing?"

"Its still too early in the continuity." an unexpected voice chimes in. 

I turn around in surprise and see the hawk waiter standing close to my table, eyes glued to the TV screen. 

"Prince Enma only gets the fire of perdition after the journey north." the hawk man continues not noticing me staring at him. 

"Uh, OK. Thanks for that bit of information." I say, not quite sure what to make out of this. 

"Oh!" the hawk man exclaims, "I didn't mean to hear you talking to yourself there. Sorry about that."

"Yeah. Got a bit caught up in the moment." I explain. Was this guy eavesdropping on me? The hawk man merely bows in apology and quickly disappears into the pub's kitchen. 

"Our business here is done. Let us go." The Voice mutters sulkily, "I have watched enough rot for one night."

"Yeah." I concur, getting up from my seat and heading for the pub's door after leaving some cash on the table. The electronic doorbell plays its synthesized jingle as I depart. 

I step out into the night streets and the shuffling crowd swallows me whole, the anime's ending theme song fading into the distance.  

Trapped in a world not my own. Facing a destiny never meant to pass. Dealing with a hero doomed to defeat. Which will end first, this world or my life?

The Transmigator, a being deployed from beyond the boundaries of this reality, must undo the will of Fate itself, to save both himself and the world. 

There is only The Voice of a god and the strength in your own hands.

I was Vella De Evan, and i killed myself. Do i regret it? Sometimes, but when i think about the harm they did to me i don't. I let myself free from torture, and the shackles people locked me with.

Honestly, I'm tired from everything, i regret a lot of things. I really do, i wanted the people that hurt me suffer, suffer the pain they had given to me.

I woke up again, haziness blurred my sight once more. I was still in the bizarre place, the same dirty crumpled clothing, and still the same room i was in when i woke up the first time.

I lay still on the bed, the soft mattress was comfortable, it had been quite awhile since i felt the feeling of laying down on one. I stared at the sealing, thinking deeply about my life.

I couldn't help but think of Isak, the feeling of my heart thumping whenever i thought about him still haunts me. I thought i could try forget about him, but it was impossible. My love was already running deep, i felt angry and jealous when i remember Adrianne getting close to him, and in the end, Isak fell in love with her, not me.

Why couldn't he even notice me? Was it because i was a child of a slave? Was i not pretty enough? What should i do to make you love me, Isak? 

I felt hot tears trickling down my cheek, soft sobs filled the quiet room. Just... Why couldn't I be loved?

I wiped the tears that were falling, trying to keep myself strong. I tried to think of the times when he hurt me, but i could not do anything. I accepted anything from him even if i could capture at least a tiny bit of his attention, even though it was negative.

Because, I loved him. I still did, feelings could not die easily. He was manipulative, selfish, abusive, but I still loved him.

How ironic everything was, because it was worth nothing. I did not mean anything to him, while he was the world to me.

I sighed, as I pitied myself because of my love, my stupidity, and the fact I still love after everything he did to me.

It was my stupidity, yet i still hate everyone. I did not deserve the torment, they did. 

I hated everyone, I want them to die, I want them to suffer, I want them to feel all sorts of torture. I hate everyone, I hate everyone, I hate everyone! My family, Isak, Adrianne, everyone!

I breathed violently, anger brimming heavily inside of me. I tried to calm myself down, thinking positively, trying to dispel the hatred in my heart. 

 I suddenly remembered about the strange device on the small table beside the bed. The thing that scared me until i fainted.

I was quite scared to touch it, was it alive? I gathered my courage to look at it, I tried touching it, the glass panel lit up again, revealing the same cartoon boy i saw before i fainted. I touched the small button underneath it once more, suddenly changing into the beautiful woman i saw when i woke up.

"What in the world is this?" I mutter to myself, curiously touching the glass screen.

"Hello, Vella De Evan." The woman said, blinking through the glass.

I was startled, I jumped in surprise from the voice. Did it come from the woman on the strange device?

"Yes, yes. The voice came from me." She said again, sighing slightly.

I, who distanced myself from the strange device, slowly crawled to the small bedside table and peered to the device.

"How can you talk? Your just a cartoon in a strange device..." I ask curiously towards the device, still a tad bit scared to go close to it.

"Darling, I'm no cartoon. Well I have a real form but it's more fun in this form, I'm in my anime form, don't i look gorgeous?" She said, turning around as if she was displaying her self, i had to admit, she utterly stunning already in that type of form, i wonder if she was real and had a body?

'Though, what in the world is anime?' I thought to myself, such a strange word. I shook my head slightly as I sighed. I had so many unanswered questions to ask, my head felt dizzy from all the questions.

"Dear, looks like i have a lot to teach you about the world your living in now. I have to change into my real form so it'll be easier as well I guess." She sighed heavily, the small black device suddenly turned off.

Dark clouds suddenly started forming inside the small room, and the air suddenly became chilly. The clouds suddenly began forming a body right in front of me, obviously making me stunned and slightly scared.

"Hello Vella, I'm Monica Louvre. It's quite nice to meet you." Monica said to me as her pretty lips smiled.

I was scared and shocked, what had just happened?

She was absolutely beautiful. Her hair was deep brown, curly and long. Her skin was fair, almost translucent and her nose was dainty. Her eyes were jeweled red, like my ruby eyes, only better, and her lips were naturally red. She looked like a Greek Goddess. Her body was wrapped in a black off-shouldered dress, with embroidery netted flowers on her shoulders, with a black choker. 

"W-what?" At this point, I was already questioning humanity and it's existence.

"Haha, people are always like that when they first see me. Their expressions are always quite nice to see." She smiled as she said, her voice was enchanting and magical.

"W-well, um, Monica, may I ask some questions?" I asked to her, hope filled my heart. I felt confused, I wanted to ask how I was still alive, how I ended up in this place, and a dozen questions more.

"Ah yes, I bet your curious as to why your here and still alive am i right?" 

"Well, of course."

"Yes, yes, It only natural. My dear Vella, you have already died, but only your body, not your soul. Hmm, let's say, your soul was switched with the soul of the body you are inhabiting right now. As for the reason, it's quite simple actually, a mistake made by one of the reapers happened. Quite dangerous I may say."

"So, your saying my soul is swapped with someone else?" I asked, not quite believing what's happening.

"Yes. Oh god, looks like I have to be honest. Vella, You aren't real, you never were. You were a fictional character in a game, yet due to your resentment you somehow became real. Everything around you, your story, was created by humans, Vella." Monica sighed heavily as she pushed strands of her hair back.

I was speechless, I didn't exist? My life, all the things I had to endure, was all because someone was bored so they decided to create a character in a game, and decided to make my life and death tragic? I was enraged, my thoughts were blinded with anger, everything i suffered was just a cause of someone?

"Calm down Vella, don't get so angry. No one would ever think a character would suddenly come to life right?" 

She had a point, but that didn't stop my anger. I was angry, because everything I felt could have been different, but they had to make me.

"Well, while you get over that, I'll tell you where you are. You're in the 21st Century, the modern world, where technology is, and the citizens are the rulers. You know, where men and women are the same. But, I mean, It's probably not the best time to be alive, ugh." Monica said as she shuddered lightly and glanced over her perfectly painted red nails.

I sighed, 21st century? I don't even wan't to know anymore.

"How in the world did this happen?" I muttered to myself, and for some reason Monica was even able to hear, I was starting to get paranoid.

"It's called fate, darling. You never know what could happen next, it could be the most unexpected thing you could imagine." Monica said as she smiled to me, her cold hand resting on my shoulder as she cupped my cheek.

"I don't believe in those sorts of things, what fate? My fate was created by a bunch of humans." I snorted coldly.

"Now, now, don't be so bitter about it. You're given another chance at life, am I right? You can now live your life to the fullest, maybe find love and friends in this life, don't you think so? Cheer up a bit, I don't like dealing with resentful people, it's quite the burden I may say."

I buried my face in my hands, thinking that life was hard. Well, life was never easy on me anyways. My breathing started getting heavy, and as if a tight band was wrapped around my head, I had a suffocating headache. I pulled my hair, trying to distract myself from the paranoia, I was scared.

"Stop being so afraid Vella. You're getting stressed, how about you get some sleep, you don't look so good." Monica said, as grabbed my cold sweaty hands, ushering me to lay down on the comfy bed.

"Y-yes, you're right Monica, I need some rest, my head hurts." I nodded, suddenly feeling frantic and panicky, I walked to the bed, laying down on the bed.

"Vella, starting from now on, you are Joo Yeona. Not Vella De Evan anymore, understand?" Monica whispered in my ear.

"Yes, Monica." I barely reply, before i felt drowsy.

Drowsiness easily came to me, as if I was being hypnotized. Monica was in my view, a smile on her pretty face. I heard her whisper something into my ear once more, but i couldn't hear clearly. My view was pitch black, I was fast asleep.

"Oh soon dear, be patient. For I shall teach you how to help your old body, change your old destiny. Don't you want to know? For now, sleep well, tomorrow shall be a long day for you."

Joo Yeona was a 20-year-old college student, who loved to eat, play video games, and read romance novels. Until her fate of death came, and in a blink, she dies in a sudden mass shooting on the streets.

Her sudden unexpected death made her transmigrate. Not into the heroine, but instead into the life of the most hated villain character, Vella De Evan in the popular Korean romance otome game, 'Blooming Love', much to her despise to the character. 

Of course, her new life wasn't going to be an easy smooth paved road ahead, or filled with lush treasures and luxury goods. She’s the most hated villain after all, which villain has a good life? 

She couldn't do anything.

She needed power, but she was anything from cunning. Strategic? She flopped college. She felt internally conflicted, confusion, and panic.

Tormented by her life switching constantly through two worlds, Joo Yeona learns how to be a better person, while teaching another on how to have a little hope in life.

“Love?” Vella said as she cuddled the man next to her. Her finger teasingly circled around on his bare chest. 

“Hm?” The man replied as he looked at her with eyes filled with adoration and love, he lightly kissed her forehead with affection. His hands wrapping her waist possessively. 

“You fell into my trap.” she muttered, a seductive smile appeared on her face, before she pressed her lips onto the man passionately, intertwining their fingers, and clashing their tongues together.

"I never loved you" she whispered through their kiss, before disappearing into dust right before his eyes.

He was broken. But so was she.

Warning: Some not so happy latter half that comes out of left field because I'm saying my thoughts.

A great man once said: "When I cut my finger, is a tragedy... When you fall into a sewer and die, is a comedy." In this trail of thought, one might decide to be a sadist to their character and play it for laughs.

Not saying that angle won't work or anything. After all, Charlie Chaplin didn't get famous for no reason.

What I'm trying to say is that comedy is derived from the absurd. Things that don't normally happen is happening and no common sense is needed for the fictional characters involved since people being dumb is funny in its own right. I mean, go ask Disney for advice on writing overly dumb characters who couldn't possibly exist in real life at all.

This doesn't mean that a pure comedy needs to be all laughs though. It is becoming strangely more common to weave plot threads together in order to make even more absurd scenarios for the characters involved. I remember watching an Anime called 'Gamers!' about a group of teenagers gradually falling into the rabbit hole of misunderstandings since they wouldn't outright ask each other anything.

It was to the point that Otaku online dubbed it with the meme-like name of 'Misunderstandings: The Anime' in the face of how complicated the story was becoming because of what was happening on screen.

Just me writing the word 'absurd' twice should be enough for those reading this to understand that making it 'out there' is what's comical. Even 'Kaguya Sama- Love Is War' derived its comedy from the absurd humour that is what WOULD happen when two geniuses won't give up in trying to win over the other in their battle of over-the-top scheming.

Reactions that are so over-the-top they are comical in itself are also common to comedies. Even in those fictions that try to balance their comedy with heavier moments that were built to be tear jerkers.

However, to actually be able to overcome the hurdle of making the sadder moments impact instead of making the reader laugh, what is most needed is the inclusion of something 'mundane' in a character's life which can be subverted. There is a reason The Simpson's and other comedy tv shows go back to the status quo after a joke has ended, it is because seeing something mundane turn hilarious is subversive.

And what is comedy if not a subversion of what we are expecting? The reason everything used to laugh in high school when someone fell after another guy pulled his chair before he sat is because something even as mundane as 'sitting' didn't follow the tradition, turning into something they didn't expect.

A long comedy story needs this sense of returning to the status quo even if it has changed a little after the previous punchline. You can't always throw in punchlines without proper build up to it.

There needs to be at least some time for the characters to take in an exciting incident before the next one comes, and that is especially true when it comes to punchlines. It's just how comedy works.

Now you may be thinking of writing a character who has some funny joke that consistently happens in the story. Maybe your character keeps on falling asleep in climactic moments or maybe your comic relief has a catchy catchphrase that he always NEEDS to say.

In the case of the latter: Don't... Just don't...

As for the former, new scenarios for the same joke can lead into an even bigger joke. Bonus points if whatever the character's main joke is actually coincides with some sort of characterisation.

You can have a guy who gets angry all the time have to ACTUALLY go to anger management courses or maybe the guy who falls asleep just doesn't get any most the time due to insomnia. I know something so 'real' shouldn't be funny, but remember my earlier advice, something 'mundane' can ground the story.

To have a higher purpose than just the comedy happening itself, this sense of realism is required and can't be forgotten if you want to make stories that can have a higher impact on the audience.

Generally, you can go berserk with this kind of story since any joke is acceptable as long as they don't are not moral ambiguous and don't go at the expense of a certain group of your audience. I mean, 9/11 jokes may seem funny but we've already got to the point that the terrorism itself is not to be joked about.

On a side note: Why is it that Kyoto Animation burning down is a tragedy but people falling off buildings in 9/11 is funny? I remember a guy even adding cartoon sound to a video of people falling...

Sorry, back to the topic at hand. Your sense of humour is your own, but be sure to be sensitive to the people around you and not be a sadistic bully who takes pleasure in the suffering of others.

This is a story I worked on ages ago that has been refined and edited by adding foreshadowing to events while also simplifying the power system better than before. This story can be considered a prequel to An Adventure Beyond Greatness as it takes place years prior to the events of that story.

Short Synopsis:
After retiring from the battlefield, my life became empty and lifeless. The regrets of my past haunt me in my sleep. Then a change occurred, a King from another world summoned me to fight for his kingdom, but I died even before I could give him my answer. Now, after a fake God allowed me to reincarnate (albeit imperfectly) with my memories intact, into a world filled with magic and swords.

Long Synopsis:
This is about a flawed protagonist who only knew to rely on others and not socialise who gets a second chance to change himself in order to live the life he aimed for in his past life. The narrator isn’t exactly trustworthy since it is purely in his bias perspective while other perspectives given by others fill in the blanks that he either leaves out or twists to suit the situation.

The story itself can be considered a parody of Isekai’s classic tropes which are given a sense of reality as time goes by. As there exists no ‘Demon Lord’, there is also no black and white, only characters opinions and counter-opinions throughout the story.

Chloe, Emily and everyone watching unknowingly sang the chorus with him. They listened to every word that came out of his mouth and sang the chorus every time it came around. It came to the ending and they all sang with him one last time.

"Let it go
The cold never bothered me anyway
Let it go, let it go
And I'll rise like the break of dawn
Let it go, let it go
That perfect girl is gone
Here I stand in the light of day

As the song ends Theo makes all the ripped up paper that's in his inventory to appear in the air and fall slowly to indicate the end of the performance like a curtain does.

Emily and Chloe began to spin within the falling paper with wide smiles and laughter. Everyone looked at their cute reaction with a smile.

The paper finally stopped and Emily ran up to Theo and asked "Hey big brother can you do Olaf" (Snowman)

They replied with the voice of Olaf "So what did the two princesses think of my movie"

Chloe and Emily giggled happily and said at the same time "It was amazing" 


Theo turned back to the camera and said "although my voice acting doesn't prove everything I can always post the image and record a video on how I made it"

Theo: "I still have a few songs that I want to sing, oh also I'll be dropping a montage of my transformation"

Since the beginning of his first workout, Theo's been taking pictures of himself after his workout for the reason of a montage.


After his words, the females in the chat had gone completely crazy with love. What they don't know is that Theo's transformation is outright abnormal and the first image might cause them to fear him.



Without noticing Emily had sat next to him with her moms(Rose) phone presenting it to his face with the YouTube search bar on it "Big Brother can you put in Angel Toon's"

Chloe saw this and quickly jumped up in her mother's(Sophia) arms and asked: "Mom, YouTube, Angel Toon's, please!"


Rose, Sophia, Megan and Theo laughed at their eager attitude. While laughing Theo and Sophia searched up the Angel Toons channel subscribed and gave it back to Chloe and Emily.


The two girls happily picked the phones and ran to a separate chair to watch it together. Theo turned back to the camera and said "Well thank you for joining me today on watching my first animation and thank you to all the donators"

Before he had the chance to stop the stream a donation came flying.


"RichRedHead donated $6000: Hold up, how much of the money are you keeping this time"

Everyone had forgotten about his foolish but unselfish heart but now that someone had brought it up, they couldn't forget it.


Rose: "Okay tell us how much is going away this time but before that tell us how much you earned"


Theo: "I made $804,016. I'll be giving away $800,000"


And once again money could be heard being flushed away. Sophia on the side was looking at Theo like he was a saint, her fan love for him had upgrade to that of worship.
 

Theo: "Well it's been good guys, thank you for your support and I hope you have a lovely evening"


With the stream done Sophia and Rose notice that it was close to eight and said their goodbyes, while their daughters watch Frozen on their phones.

This has been dropped. This is my first novel which had a lot of problems from the pacing, power scale and grammar. Read knowing that it has no end.

To be a star is a simple Idea but to turn a boy that's been secluded from Society into one is much more difficult. Even if you took on his body you still felt his anxiety, insecurity and more. It's slow but worth it.

The Mc is beta at the start as he is a character that suffers from anxiety due to his upbringing. Although it did take 23 chapters for the Mc to show visible growth that's just due to my naturally slow pacing.

Don't expect too much, especially since this is my first time writing a novel. It's also best not to take seriously as I am just writing for fun and to just something to do on my downtime 

This novel will share a lot of similarities to other novels that I particularly love and mostly because I lack originality but it will be in my style.

How can you lose something you never have?

I was born without love, my mother is a mistress of an old politician. She wants attention, she wants money so i became a collateral in her schemes to became my father's second wife.

How would you react when the person who suppose to love and care you the most makes your life a living hell?

The beating starts when I'm just four years old, she could pinch my ear or my arm. The more i grow up, the more she would beat me, when I'm twelve years old my whole body is black and blue to the bruised i recieve from her. She would beat everytime—the smallest scraping sound when i move my chair; one slap. The clicking of the silverware on my plate; comes another one. When i talk to her in a loud voice; a spank. When in a quite voice; she would be angry and then came her fist.— She would punish me for something i don't have any control off, heck i even start to think that she beats me just for the fun of it.

What would your reaction be when you realize she beats you then blatantly lie when someone ask about the bruise?

My mother would always lie that the reason I'm like this is because I'm a clumsy child. She would keep saying that she is just a klutz and her skin is easily bruised. I guess my skin does bruised easily, a pale skin white as a paper. All off them brush it off when mother explains to them, sometimes i could see in there eyes that they don't quite believe my mother but well why would they be concern about me anyway when even my parents doesn't care about me? My father just doesn't care about me, he could just say some superficial words of concern when he sees my bruised and other than that, then nothing.

The beating stops when i reach my eighteen years of age. Then it seems like everyone forgotten my existence, but i like it, do now have a peace and quite moment where i don't have to always on the look out to my mother when she came to beat me up when she is in a wrong mode. When I graduated on high school—home schooled style. I became addicted to reading. The library is full of non fiction works and when i finished reading it all, i started to read the fictional one, fiction where we can have magic powers, where beautiful womans go to the ball or some sort of celebration wishing and wanting that the prince or the handsome leading man would love her, care for her and swipe her right under her feet and dance all the way to their happily ever after.

What is love?

What is care?

What is even a want?

For me, i don't dare to want, i don't dare to wish, because when you have nothing, then you have nothing to lose.

My peaceful days disrupted when my father called me to go in his study, where in there everybody is in—my mother, my fathers first wife, my step-sister and step-brother.

I have a bad feelings about this meeting but i stays silent and look for a chair to sit to.

"Sydney, your fiance would be in here in an hour to get you. You are going to live in his house from now on so go and pack your stuff." father broke the silence when he uttered this word.

"Daddy!" my step-sisters indignant voice can be heard amidst the hustle and bustle of the place. "how could you daddy, I'm supposed the fiancee not her." 

"shut up! What i says goes! Now go pack your bags now!" he shouts before angrily get ups and go to the door slamming it shut when he goes out.

A pants, shirts and other article of clothing are currently in askew on sydneys bed. Maids keep going to the walk in closet, getting stuffs and putting it on the luggages on the floor.

"A fiance?" mutters sydney to herself before looking at her room.

How she so wants to just run, go away and forget everything but she knows that she can't. Her father would surely find her and when he does, she doesn't want to know the punishment she would recieve.

"well, i guess it's not that bad" i can finally leave here, if her fiance would not forbid her, she likes to learn how to bake pastries and cook foods. "i just have to be positive, if worse came to worse then i can still read some books"

"maam, do you want to bring your books with you? Should we pack it for you maam?" rose one of the maids ask inclining her head to where the book case is built by.

I nodded before going to the book case.

"I can't possibly bring them all so i would just bring my favourite ones so i do needed your assistance."

Before noon, all of my stuffs are pack, luggages and cartoon boxes are already in the front yard ready to be sent out. My father is currently talking to my husband to be in his office. He come in one hour ago but i haven't even seen his face yet so I'm kind of curious, the maid said the his name is Adam Williams, a filthy rich CEO who start his own business when he is a teenager. He bacame successful that he dominate the electronic industries, a businessman savvy who know what he is doing despite his tender age of 25. When they are talking about him, they make it so that he looks perfect, a gentleman, philanthropist and most importantly a very handsome man.

When i heard that, i became curious that why would he wants to marry me, then father says that the marriage arrangement are done by our grandparents thinking that someday one of there grandson and granddaughter whould wed and make them became one family. In fact they just want one of their grandchildren to be wedded that they don't even put names and just put the arrangement in there children's lap hoping that they would fullfill it. 

Against the water falling in the fountain in front of our house, i can hear a footsep coming by, I guess that's my fiance so i decided to face him to look at the "perfect specimen" that the woman in the house keeps talking about.

How can you lose something you never have?

But when you do have something to lose, how far whould one go to keep it?

I can't afford to lose you.

So if my heart going black as ink keeps you by my side, then so be it!

Angor took a turn in the air to gain a better view. This time, he saw the man sitting by the table… or not. Angor could not call it a "man" from its looks.
To be precise, it was a small bunny wearing a gentleman's attire. Should he call it Mister Bunny?
Less than half a meter tall, with a pure, snow-white coat, and long ears showing a pale pink color inside and decorated with soft, furry fringes. Its eyes had the color of a crimson gem, embedded on its adorable little head. The ears were almost as long as its own body. If one ignored all those strange decorations, it was just an extremely cute rabbit that could easily make any girl scream in delight.
Angor would have fallen in love with the creature too if not given the circumstances. Now, he already raised his alertness to the best extent and no longer had the mood to admire the rabbit's cuteness.
Most of Angor's attention was on Mister Bunny itself.
Its clothing was the biggest difference it had compared to regular pet rabbits. It was not wearing anything on the bottom. There was a tailcoat with lace edgings and red diamond patterns on it. A black top-hat sat between those ears, and a small badge with a smiling face hung on the edge of the hat. The most attractive piece was the small, gold-rimmed monocle over one of its eyes, which gave the adorable bunny some gentlemanly look.
Also, Mister Bunny was not sitting on the chair as Angor thought. It was floating in front of the table, with its eyes fixed on a thick book with a violet cover on the table.
Angor circled around Mister Bunny and realized that it would not pay him any attention, just like the other creatures. It might be that it was simply too focused on its book and never noticed the sudden visitor.
After roaming around the hall for some more, Angor only felt more and more curious about this world.
Was this really a parallel world? Did he just transmigrate? He could not get an answer at all. More importantly, he was no longer sure if he had passed the talent test.
As he fought with all the confusion, an idea suddenly crossed his mind.
No, the idea was so abrupt that Angor did not even know if that was his own idea, or it was someone else's. It was telling his mind to get back to the closet.
Getting back to the closet from where he transmigrated here… That was all the idea told him.
Without a doubt, Angor agreed with the idea. He was not sure where it came from but he trusted his instinct.
As he turned to leave the hall, he heard the sound of turning pages from Mister Bunny not far from him.
Angor turned back to look at the violet-covered book the bunny was reading and suddenly stopped his movement for some reason. He quietly floated to Mister Bunny and checked out the content of the book.
The book was standing on the table. The book cover was clear to read. There was nothing special on it, kinda like a romance novel loved by noble ladies.
There was a line of strange symbols at the top. Angor could not read them. It was probably the title. Then there was a cartoon-style picture below and a simply sketched castle in the background. There was a blurry cartoon girl in the foreground - red hat, long, curly brown hair, blue skirt, and white shoes. The facial features and her clothes were all not very detailed, like something drawn by children. The use of colors was great though.
A castle and a girl… Is this one of the "princess tales" Teacher used to tell?
All bedtime stories Angor ever knew were told by Jon when Angor was small. Most of the stories were about ancient figures which meant to lecture him about human virtue. A small part of them was Grimms Fairytales. Angor never liked them, but he still remembered some of the names, such as the famous "Princess Snow White" and "Cinderella".
This was why Angor instantly thought about those stories when he saw the cover drawn in a little girl's style.
He did not think about the cover for much time. He could not read it anyway, so he floated behind Mister Bunny and began reading the book.
He saw the content of the book just now and could only make out that it was a picture book.
Angor could not understand any of the words, but he could still speculate the story by the pictures.
It seemed like a fairytale.
A girl bumped into a strange land. She could drink some wine to become small as a rat or eat some cake to be as big as a giant. There was a bowl of mushroom soup; drinking from the left made her shorter while drinking from the right made her taller. With all of these surprises, the girl started an amazing journey with strange creatures.
Angor enjoyed the story. He felt somewhat familiar with it, but he quickly put that emotion away to keep reading the book.
Time passed. Things around him were becoming weirder, but Angor realized none of them.
Firstly, Mister Bunny was turning the pages along with Angor's reading speed. Next, the plush owls, poker soldiers, bunny teacups and rainbow dragonflies on the other side of the hall all came around him. However, Angor was totally attracted by the beautiful journey in the story and was completely oblivious of his surrounding.
Angor did not take any of the abnormalities to heart. Instead, he joyfully placed his own spirit together with the girl in the story. 
Angor felt himself becoming the main character of the story and running after a talking bunny.
Everything was beautiful. All creatures here had peculiar looks, but they all showed kindness. Angor even thought that this was the wonderland.
As he kept himself immersed in the wonderful world, a sharp cackling came from the castle far away.
"Oh no, the Queen of Hearts is here! Shava, you need to leave, or the queen will turn you into a card!" urged the talking bunny.
The Queen of Hearts? Leave? Shava?
Angor stared at everything with a blank face. 
Who's Shava? I'm Ango—An—Huh? Who am I?
He realized something was wrong.
He recalled seeing the bunny in tailcoat in the manor castle, and the bunny was—wait, what was the bunny doing?
The beautiful journey in Angor's mind instantly shattered into pieces. He knew he forgot something, and he knew he must remember it!
He screamed with his mind, but his memory kept falling apart until he could not even remember what he was doing just a second ago.
"Eeeheeheehee—"
"Shava, what are you doing?? Run! The queen is coming!" The bunny dragged Angor's hand. "This is dangerous, you need to go to my rabbit hole to escape!"
Next, Angor was unconsciously led away by the bunny.
The mountains afar were still booming with green, but all the fantasies now carried a lifeless strangeness.
"My rabbit hole is right there. Get in and let me deal with the queen," the bunny said before he pushed Angor.
Angor fell onto the ground with a trip.
The bunny was still urging him to get inside the hole, but sudden alertness came about Angor's mind.
"Get back to the closet."
The message appeared inside his head abruptly.
The closet? Angor's once blank expression turned sharp. He remembered the closet! He also recalled that he was taking his talent test, and fell into a strange parallel world for no reason, and a… a reading bunny!
When he realized everything, the world around him shifted. All became nothingness.
The "rabbit hole" was replaced by a bloody maw filled with sharp fangs. The adorable bunny behind him also turned into a tattered ragdoll with patches sewn all around it.
Angor stepped back, then quickly ran away from the maw.
As he left the area, he found himself back at the hall where Mister Bunny was.
He was no longer relaxed as before, however, because he just noticed that a group of card soldiers had surrounded him…
