After adjusting some final punctuation with his keyboard, Chen Xiaolian raised his head and massaged his sore temple.

Within a VIP waiting room of an airport, service personnel wearing beautiful uniform were gently pouring coffee for the guests.

This is an airport within a small country’s tourist city, located within Southeast Asia.

Chen Xiaolian stretched his waist and quickly affixed an author’s back section on the chapter that he had just finished. Thinking for a moment, he quickly typed in a line of text: Seeking monthly ticket…[1]

He quickly exited the back section, switched off his laptop, and stuffed it into his bag. Suddenly getting the urge to urinate, he looked at his phone and saw that it was still early. Chen Xiaolian immediately got up while carrying his bag and proceeded to run towards the toilet.

“Wait a moment, you dropped something.”

Turning his head, Chen Xiaolian saw the left most lanky looking pilot bending over to pick up something from the ground. He then handed it over to Chen Xiaolian. “Your boarding pass?”

Chen Xiaolian glanced over it and found that it was really his. It must have fallen off when he was retrieving his tissue papers from his bag.

He hastily said a few words of thanks, but the pilot narrowed his eyes as he glanced over Chen Xiaolian. “Flight XX3307? Interesting…”

What kind of words are those?

Moreover, Chen Xiaolian instinctively felt that the way the other person was looking at him was a little strange.

“I can only say… I wish you good luck.”

Those were the last words said by the pilot. After that, he waved goodbye with his hands and left with his companion in another direction.

How baffling!

Do airline companies hire their pilots in such a casual manner these days?

That person must have some brain problems, right? I wonder who would be so unfortunate as to ride on the plane he flies!

This minor event did not stay in Chen Xiaolian’s mind for too long. He went back to the waiting room, had another round of coffee and played mobile games for a while. After an hour, Chen Xiaolian began to board the plane.

As he was boarding, he was surprised to find that amongst the crewmembers greeting the passengers at the airplane entrance, was none other than the “I wish you good luck” fellow!

Chen Xiaolian was shocked senseless, however, the other party only smiled and nodded towards him. After that, the pilot turned around and headed into the cockpit.

The flight attendant politely guided Chen Xiaolian towards his seat. The space given to First Class was very wide and he sat down before changing into a pair of slippers. Chen Xiaolian then turned to the flight attendant and requested a glass of beer.

He has a mild discomfort towards flight, also known as motion sickness. By drinking some alcoholic drinks, he hoped to be able to fall asleep after boarding the plane. That would be for the best.

After drinking a mouthful of beer, someone sat down on the passenger seat beside him. He gave the passenger a glance and saw a little loli with a short bob cut hair… neat and clean, with a pair of big, black eyes. She wore a light blue short skirt as she sat on the passenger seat, her pair of white legs dangling freely in the air – Hmm, this act had exposed her height. When she was seated, her legs could no longer reach the ground.

Considering Chen Xiaolian’s age, he was naturally not a lolicon. (That is something exclusive to uncles!)

He was only curious as to why a child at such an age would board a plane alone. In addition, this was an international flight.

Realizing that Chen Xiaolian was looking at her, the little girl made a brief eye contact with Chen Xiaolian. She then nodded politely in a seemingly subconscious manner; however, her attitude remained cold, as though the nod earlier was simply an instinctive etiquette.

Later, she seemed to have received a phone call. She retrieved her phone and spoke into the phone with a childish voice.

“Unnie… Omo… Imnida…”

Seemingly aware that he was still looking at her, her eyes became colder. When she saw Chen Xiaolian’s teenage face that indicated that he was not that old, but was holding on to a glass of beer… her eyes seemed to show traces of disapproval.

Well, I am now being despised.

Chen Xiaolian chuckled secretly, simply took out his eye blinders, and put it on before going to rest.

Soon, the flight attendants gave another notice and the plane began to slowly move along the runway. After a burst of violent vibrations, the plane rose to the skies…

Two hours later, Chen Xiaolian was woken up by a burst of vibration. Removing the blinders, he looked around in confusion and saw that the warning lamp above his head had been lit on.

The Korean loli sitting beside him was instead very calm, she held onto a glass of orange juice, drinking it mouthful after mouthful, wearing bunny shaped earphones and listening to music.

The flight attendant used a warm and harmonious voice to make an announcement, stating that the plane had probably ran into some turbulent airflow and asked everyone to not enter a state of panic.

It should not have been anything, an airplane running into these kinds of situations were simply far too common.

However, after a few minutes, the frequency of the vibrations from the airplane seemed to be increasing and the extent of the vibration increased. This caused the passengers to gradually become alarmed.

Glancing around, Chen Xiaolian saw that the first class flight attendants had already been seated at their designated seats, their safety belts fastened tight.

Chen Xiaolian could not help himself as he started feeling apprehensive.

Of the two flight attendants of the first class area, the older one who was presumably the chief maintained calm and continued using a harmonious voice to sooth the passengers.

As for the younger flight attendant… when Chen Xiaolian was boarding the plane, he had taken another look at her. She had a pair of very slender legs and her current seating position just happened to be directly opposite Chen Xiaolian.

Chen Xiaolian was able to spot the traces of panic and fear within the flight attendant’s eyes.

The chief attendant remained calm and was using a gentle voice to sooth the passengers, showing that nothing serious was going on.

However, Chen Xiaolian had noticed that the younger flight attendant’s legs were…

Trembling!

That was right! They were trembling!

Holy shit! Even the flight attendants are scared to the point of trembling?!

Then… then something big must have happened!

Chen Xiaolian suddenly became nervous. It was at this moment that a loud bang suddenly sounded out from who knew where!

The aircraft suddenly lost all power and sounds of screams were emitted from the passengers’ compartments.

One could clearly feel that the aircraft was falling down at a rapid rate…

Next, a series of loud noises rang out non-stop. Amidt the terrifying noises, Chen Xiaolian’s face had turned ghastly white, all the strength within his body seemingly sapped away.

The Korean loli beside him began crying out of fear, screaming out in Korean.

His eyes are red in color while his hair silky white that reached his nose. His eyelashes are long and posses the same color of his hair. Prince's eyebrows are thin, sharp and at the same time, white. His nose is at it's best shape like his sharp eyes. He got sharp jawline and pink lips that made him looks like a vampire.
 
The excellent thing about him is his milky white skin that seemed to be bleached and made with jade. 

This features including his slim body, long legs and slender fingers got him the credibility to take the tittle of being the person who have inhumane beauty.

Prince furrowed his eyebrows as he close the book in his hands. He spent numerous hours to read the novel with nearly three thousand chapters only to find out that the second male lead he is fond of changed.
 
In the novel called Heaven's Above, the second male lead is an elegant, noble and brave person like him that's why he got the name Lan Xue. Lan Xue fears no one and uses his full power and potential to support Lan Kai, the male lead who is his adopted brother. Despite having God-Given potential and bloodline, he never belittled Lan Kai for having normal bloodline and mediocre talent. He instead supported him and fought with him nearly loosing his life. 

At the best part of the novel, Prince found out the reason about Lan Xue's loyalty towards his adopted brother. It's because of a simple yet unusual reason. Lan Xue slowly turned into a hidding rabbit fron being a ferocious tiger!

Prince threw the book on his desk before standing up. A book like that should be kept. He wasn't angry about the plot twist but instead a little bit happy.

Nowadays, it's rare to find a book with a different plot. Normally books or novels are only altered version of something better. More like plagiarism.

The author deserves a praise since he made a novel with good plot, carefully designed characters and nice writing skills. That's why Prince nearly finished reading all the published chapters of the novel. Who knows in the future chapters, Lan Xue will straighten his mind? 

"Ha~, without Lan Xue, Lan Kai wouldn't be at his level now. Without Lan Xue, he would still be the same stupid male lead. Without a superb second male lead, the male lead won't shine even if he got the best of the best."  

Prince straightened his robe and left his study. After going out, he walked on a pathway before finding his bed where his phone is placed. His room is like a small house. It has a small kitchen, study, gaming room, bathroom and of course, the bed. 

After opening his phone, he saw a message from the person he loves, respect and obeys the most. It's his handsome and talented father.

"I wanted to come and visit you but unfortunately, I got numerous things to do. I told Ling to cook you a lobster." 

Prince smiled. He's now in China since his father bought him a house that even members of his family don't know.

It would be a bother for his father to travel since he is now at the other side of the planet doing confidential transactions. 

"Don't worry Daddy, take your time there. I'll try to go to the Main Mansion and fix some things there." He replied. 

He realized that he haven't changed his phone's keyboard. So he texted his father in English. 

It wouldn't be a hassle since his father could speak and read English.

He also could speak and read English like a native. But the difference of his skill compared to the native speakers is his complex accent. It sounds a little bit like British accent so people who could understand that accent could also understand some of his words. Prince is confident that his accent is the sexiest, hardest and the best one. Moreover, he is the only one who could do it.

Shortly after, he received a reply saying , "Okay but don't tire yourself. I'll dispose this number soon."

Prince didn't reply any longer and held his phone with his right hand. He's a left handed person but it doesn't mean he couldn't use his right hand like how he use his left one.

He left his room and decided to eat. After which, he will visit the Main Mansion.

The Main Mansion of his family is situated here in China. Aside from this, the fifth and third branch of their family is also here.

He found Ling, his Butler downstairs busy preparing food.

"Ling, is there any particular thing to do today?" He asked.

The handsome man heard this and stopped moving. "Today is your flight to South Korea.  "
Prince then remembered his job. In their family, there's a doctor, lawyer, pilot etc. already. The only missing one is a superstar. Since Prince is the most promising member of their family and also the only Heir, he decided to be a superstar. There's no problem since he's trained from childhood and is also curious about the Entertainment industry. 

He decided to go to South Korea since the entertainment industry there is booming with success. There are hundreds of agencies he could audition to. Moreover, South Korea also have exceptional fashion industry. The country became famous for their Kpop culture. Today, the most famous group is a seven member boy group called Bangtansonyeondan or Bulletproof Boy Scouts. They are also referred to as BTS.

"Ah I remembered. Is my luggage ready?" Prince asked as he sat elegantly at the chair waiting for the meal.

Ling nodded. "Yeah, I only packed those clothes meaningful to you. Your father promised to send you clothes after landing in South Korea afterall." 

Prince bobbed his head. Ling is the only person except his father that knows his real potential and personality. Everytime Ling do something, he'll surely impress Prince.

"After eating, let's go to the Main Mansion. I'll do an inspection there. " He told his Butler.

"Noted..." Ling replied shortly after hearing Prince. But after a while, he seemed to have realized something. "Now that you mentioned the Main Mansion, I remembered that today is the 18th birthday of Park Su Kwang, the pillar of the Fifth Branch.

When someone with the family blood is born, they won't be given the English surname of the family but instead the traditional Korean surname.

His Butler chuckled. He smells blood and humiliation. "Don't go too far Prince."

"I know. This person dares to challenge me. What does he, a dirty blooded member of a mere branch can do to me, the heir and trie descendant? I will make him not forget that the decisions of the Main Family shouldn't be questioned." Prince told him with confidence.

In fact, he's a composed person who always  behave like a noble. He won't do anything to harm someone with lower level than him. But when people tries to poke their nose into his business, it's another story.

"Okay fine. Why are you wearing such clothes when it's hot?" Ling asked eyeing his clothes. 

Prince shrugged his shoulders. "What can I do? I like wearing comfortable clothes. Don't you see that I can move freely with this clothes?" He replied.

Since he's a skilled fighter, he likes moving freely and comfortably. That's why he normally use robes, Traditional Han, shorts or loose pants inside the house.

"Still it's hot." Ling spat back.

Prince sighed and leaned on his chair. "You seemed to forget that wether it's freezing cold or burning hot, the temperature won't affect nor even bother me."

His Butler seemed to turn into a childish person as he pout. "If that"'s the case,why bother wearing clothes?"

"Actually, I thought of that once but who knows if you'll take advantage of me?

Author's Note : I'm not a professional writer and only a teenager so except grammatical errors here. English is not my mother tounge but I am currently learning. I don't have a update schedule so be ware.

TLDR: As with every end of a book, I will be taking a break and will resume posting on 12th November 2018. Hi there guys! Linodo here! WE FINALLY MADE IT!!! We finally made it to the end of ACT ONE!!! *Confetti pops!* Haha, that's right, these first four books are actually part of one act. I know, I know, if it took me about five to six months to complete one act, how long would it actually take for me to finish the entire story?! Three years? Five years? Or should I go full Oda and write it for twenty plus years?

Well, joking aside, I didn't plan for my writing to take this long. If you followed me from the start, you would have known that I wrote Book One in just one month during my semester break. Naturally, the chapter length and quality of writing have been steadily improving (at least in my opinion), so there's that, but the real issue that I have is time management. As a final year university student, school is my full-time job. The most important thing that I must focus on is my school, even if it means decreasing the release rate of Spirit Immortal. And let me tell you, it sure was a challenge. University courses were tough enough, now I have even less time to study and do assignments? There were even times where I just wanted to write an apology letter to you guys and drop the entire novel altogether. However, there was no way that I could do that. Why?

Because I love writing.

I don't know why, no matter how stressed I am, when the clock ticks ever closer to 11 pm, I look forward to when my chapter to go live so that I can see how you guys liked it. You guys don't know it, but there were many days where I would refresh my latest chapters just so that I could see your thoughts about the chapter. In fact, I might be refreshing this chapter right now! Hahaha! So don't be shy to leave a comment or a review about the novel. Let me tell you now, the fear of an author isn't a negative comment or a negative review, the true fear is that no one reads your work.

Before I go in depth about the things you guys really want to know, let me tell you a little bit of my background. As many of you already know, I am an avid anime fan and got into reading web novels because I wanted to read light novels (the source material of a significant portion of anime). To tell you the truth, I didn't like reading books growing up. That's why my English is somewhat lacking as compared to most authors. I did, however, love watching shows/movies/cartoons. I watched many Chinese/Hong Kong dramas, American movies when the K-Wave first started I'd even watched Korean dramas. But, my one true love was still anime. I grew up watching Inuyasha, Shaman King, Naruto, One Piece, Katekyo Hitman Reborn… The list goes on… 

The peak of my anime obsession came when I was about 13-15. Those three years, I probably watched like two-three hundred anime titles, and that's when my life really changed. I watched timeless pieces like Code Geass, FMA, Cowboy Bebop, Fate/Zero, Hunter X Hunter… I delved into comedy anime like Baka Test (which I finished reading on Baka-Tsuki), Daily Lives of High School Boys, Seto no Hanayome, Seitokai Yakuindomo, Niichijou… I had even watched Shoujo anime (even though I was not a young girl) like Seitoukaichou wa Maid-sama, Ouran High School Host Club, Kimi ni Todoke and thoroughly enjoyed them.

However, up till that point, watching anime was just an entertainment hobby of mine. Only after I was exposed to Slice of Life anime did my opinion change. I first watched Angel Beats, and when the ending came, I found myself in tears. I was amazed at how a single storyline could affect my emotions that much. Following that, I binged watch several Slice of Life anime. Air, Kanon and so on. One day, at the peak of my obsession, I discovered a little title called Clannad. I soon discovered that it was by the same company that made some of the titles that I'd watched before, so I went into it with some high hopes. And well, season one was touching, but it was well within my expectations, after watching Angel Beats and whatnot. However, Clannad had something that the other titles did not. A second season. Curious, I thought, well why not?

Boy, was I not prepared for that fucking second season… Clannad: After Story destroyed me. If any of you haven't watched it, stop reading this post and go watch it now. I don't care if you drop my story, I'm just content that I had enriched your lives by letting you know how awesome After Story is. For the first time in my life, after watching a series, I felt empty. I felt as if there was an endless void that ripped my heart in half and that feeling lasted for a solid week. Ever heard of feels train? Clannad: After Story is like getting run over by the feels train while the conductor used the feels bat to hit you every single second. So, once I was finished griefing, I thoroughly reflected upon my experience. How could a story, that had no living creatures in any part of its production, tear me into shreds emotionally? Then, I had an epiphany. It was all about the story. You see, all forms of entertainment that I enjoyed, movies, dramas, anime, manga, light novels, video games, they all had one thing in common. They all had a story. It sounds stupid to say, but it was something that my young mind had pieced together. So, a slight flicker of passion started to burn within me. I wanted to write stories that made people feel that way.

As I grew older, I started watching many more mature animes, like Kara no Kyoukai, Death Parade, Death Note that all had a theme of morality behind it. Instead of the emotional train wreck that Clannad had put me through, it made me question the existence of everything, something that very little Hollywood or Chinese/Korean/Japanese drama ever could. Also, let me shout out a little-known anime called "The Legend of the Legendary Heroes." Severely underrated in my opinion and I can't seem to get my friends to start it. Perhaps you guys would after reading through this post. :p

I wanted to be like Maeda Jun (writer of Clannad, Angel Beat and Kanon) and write touching and thought-provoking titles, and what better way than to write a web novel? Naturally, I'm nowhere near the level of Maeda Jun and the folks at Key, but I'm trying my hardest. After all, how could I climb Mount Everest without taking the first step? If I could make you guys feel even a fraction of what I felt after watching Clannad: After Story, then I'm content. 

So yeah, before this turns into an anime recommendation section, let's talk about the pacing of the story, which was a significant issue that had been brought up by multiple users. As a novice writer, I'm still trying to figure out when I should speed up the pace and when there should be more exposition. At the start of this novel, I had a more direct 'tell not show' writing style which is something that I am still trying to fix till this day. Furthermore, I feel that my writing has a systematic structure that had been ingrained into me due to my numerous years of schooling and learning how to write reports, essays and whatnot. That's why I have been reading multiple successful author's works, trying to find the best style that fits me. Trust me, I have been researching. I read many successful works and analysed their styles. I took time off going to social events just so that I could read/write more. After all, I want to improve my writing. I want to deliver the awesome story of Spirit Immortal (I'll get to that later) in the best possible writings to you guys. In conclusion, my writing style still is a work in progress, and I hope that you could bear with me as I continue my experimentation.

Okay, now that the soapy stuff is out of the way, let's discuss the actual story. This is something that I don't often do in Author's Thoughts or any comments in general as I am not a good secret keeper. I'm afraid that I might accidentally divulge everything, in an accidental comment or otherwise. So I'll try to be very careful here.

The theme of Act One is family. Or to be more precise, what is a family? This is something that I had deliberated on for years, even before I decided to become an author. In Chinese culture, there is this saying, "Blood is thicker than water." I'm sure many of you who are frequent readers of eastern fantasy have come across this quote. However, one day I asked the question. Is blood really thicker than water? Why is it that just because someone is related to you, they must be closer than anyone else in the world? That's how the idea of the orphans came about. I wanted to explore the relationships between children, who have no clue about whether their related or not, and see whether they can be as close as real family. Furthermore, I wanted to see if the adults that adopted them, in this case, the First Elder, the Instructor, etc. would treat them as if they were their own children. And I tried to show you guys that they genuinely loved for the orphans, albeit in a flawed way.

Let me give another hypothetical example. A child was adopted as a baby by a foster family. The child was loved for, cared for and even treated as the most important family member by those who had no blood relations to him. However, one day, when the baby is grown to be fifteen years of age, the biological mother demands that the foster family hand over the child back to her custody. Is it truly right? If we're going by the doctrine that "Blood is thicker than water," the child should be reunited with his mother. However, she is no longer part of his 'family.' There had been no ties of love, memories shared or anything that could bind the two together. The foster family, which had treated him as their own son, is now his true 'family.' That's why when Shin found out about the truth of the Awter Clan, he didn't go full on rage mode and vow to kill everyone who had the Frie Clan's blood. It was because even though he is the heir of the Awter Clan, in his mind, he had no ties to it. 

Junius, on the other hand, is the polar opposite. He loved his family and would do anything in his power to reunite the orphans with their rightful 'family,' those that shared the blood of the Awter Clan. Although his purpose is righteous, his methods are flawed, which led to the unhappy circumstances in 'The Unfulfilled Promise.'

And now… We are finally addressing the elephant in the room. I'm sure many of you who read the last chapter are just dying to wait for me to talk about this. The deaths of Ariel, Lily and Linus. 

When I planned out the entire story, this was the turning point of everything. Ariel's death. The promise that had been made in chapter one will forever remain unfulfilled. I had actually run into some issues when I first started to write book four. A problem that no author should have… I didn't want to kill off Ariel. I had grown too attached to her antics, and I wanted Shin and her to remain together and become some sort of power couple. I had even toyed with the idea of re-planning the story from scratch just to keep her alive. However, the more I thought about it, the more it would ruin my beautiful ending. If Ariel lived, the ending wouldn't make any sense. So, I stuck to my guns, and I wrote the initially planned story, as much as I didn't like to. I'm sure that there will be many who will dislike my choice to kill Ariel and might even drop the novel altogether. And that's fine. I can't force you to read my story anyway.

I'm sure you guys can tell that I try my best to avoid the Wuxia/Xianxia cliche storylines that follow the same arc over and over. However, that, in turn, means that my writing style has to flesh out many details so that you guys can follow the story. So bear with me on that. Each Act will follow a theme. For instance, Act One's theme is family and Act Two's theme is… Well, read to find out!

The future of Spirit Immortal is unknown, even to me. I will be starting my internship soon and possibly, a job offer might come. Once I have the job, there would be so much less time for me to write so I don't know if I can continue my daily releases. Especially since I'm not getting paid to write and this is essentially my hobby. However, I promise you this, as long as there are readers, I will continue to write. I just love the story too much to just walk away. I will try to finish the story within two-three years, but as it stands now, I don't know if that's a reasonable estimate. So, who knows what the future would bring?

Alright, I shouldn't talk anymore lest I accidentally leak my entire storyline to you guys. To be honest, I have been dropping many hints about the end of Act One, and I'm sure many of you caught on early. In truth, I had also dropped subtle hints about the final ending in many of the chapters. I wonder if you guys have picked up on some…

Gun-Ho received a call from Min-Hyeok. He said he would visit Korea soon.
"My grandmother passed away. I need to come to Korea to see my family for a few days."

After getting off the phone with Min-Hyeok, Gun-Ho felt uneasy.
"I think Min-Hyeok will get married soon. Am I the only one who will be left as a single at my age?"
Gun-Ho missed Mori Aikko. He felt like Mori Aikko would run towards him anytime soon with a bright smile.
"I am wondering what Mori Aikko is doing now. Is she on a trip for her dance performance in other provinces? Or is she working at the bar in Shinjuku City?"
Gun-Ho sent a text message to Mori Aikko. Texting in English was actually the best way to communicate with her since they didn't speak the same language.
"Mori Aikko, I love you. I am missing you right now."
Mori Aikko replied to Gun-Ho's text message right away.
"I love you, Shacho-san. I miss you too. I am in Nara, Kinki right now. There is an event I participate in Yoshiki-en. I will be back in Tokyo next week."

In November 2019, Billboard ranked BTS at #4 on their Top Social Artist of the 2010s list, making them the highest group on the list. BTS have been often regarded as "the biggest boy band in the world". They have also appeared in various power listings. The most tweeted-about celebrities in the world in 2017 and 2018, the band was included in Time's list of the 25 most influential people on the internet from 2017 to 2019, featured on the magazine's October 2018 international edition cover as "Next Generation Leaders," and were listed as one of Time 100's most influential people in 2019. According to a JoyNews24 'Power People of 2019' survey among industry professionals, BTS was chosen as #1 with 74 votes, with #2 being Parasite Director Bong Joon Ho with 29 votes. BTS also appeared in Bloomberg Market's 50 most influential in 2018, and Forbes Korea named them the fifth most influential celebrities of Korea in 2017, and the most influential celebrities of Korea in 2018. In 2019, BTS ranked 43rd on Forbes' annual list of the 100 highest-paid celebrities with earnings of $57 million. BTS also ranked first on the list of 'Top Rank Global Sustainable Future Leaders' during an announcement from the UN-sponsored SDG association at the United Nations headquarters, while BTS' fanclub, ARMY, were noted as the 'Top Rank Sustainable Global group'. Other notable people included in this list were Malala Yousafzai and Bill Gates. In California, BTS inspired a teacher to have his school be the first in the country to offer a Korean American Culture and Society course. Kang Soo Jung, exhibition manager at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, said that while preparing the 50th anniversary exhibition called "Square," she was greatly influenced by BTS's hidden track "Sea".

The group's influence has led them to address the United Nations at their 73rd General Assembly and to perform before 400 officials including South Korean president Moon Jae In at the 2018 Korea-France Friendship Concert in Paris, a summit meant to show the friendly relations between France and South Korea. Moon Hee Sang, Speaker of the National Assembly, said that "BTS is doing most of our work," attributing the results of his overseas trip to the credit of the global group on an overseas trip to promote "sales diplomacy". In September 2019, president Moon Jae in also mentioned BTS in his announcement for his '3 major innovation strategies for the contents industry', stating that BTS has pioneered innovative business models that communicate directly with fans. In October 2019, The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism selected BTS as a recipient for a 'Letter of Appreciation', for showing the world the beauty of Korean traditional culture (Hangul, Hanbok, Gugak) through creative re-interpretations in their music. In December 2019, according to the annual survey conducted by Gallup Korea, BTS were the most preferred artists of 2019 for a second consecutive year. According to the "2019 South Korean National Image" survey conducted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and its affiliate the Korean Culture and Information Service among 16 countries, BTS were chosen #2 with 5.5% votes. Despite cultural medals traditionally being given to recipients with more than 15 years of notable achievements, BTS became the youngest ever recipients honored with the Order of Cultural Merit by the President of South Korea in 2018 after five years after debuting, due to their noteworthy contributions in spreading Korean culture and language.

BTS have measurably revitalized the Korean economy and the global music industry. Credited for the surge in popularity of online purchases of K-pop items and the growth of the Korean Wave between 2016 and 2018 by the Korea Customs Service and Korea Foundation, BTS were cited as one of the main driving forces for the recovery of South Korea's music-related sector to levels seen before China's 2016 ban on domestic cultural contents over soured diplomatic relations. Yung Duk Kim, vice president and chief operating officer of the Korea Creative Content Agency, stated K-pop has "skyrocketed" since BTS' popularity surged, creating jobs not only for BTS and their team but other K-pop idols as well. Various news outlets coined the term the "BTS effect" to refer to the commercial effects of BTS' influence, such as when KB Kookmin Bank savings accounts increased six-fold compared to the prior year following BTS' endorsement and when stock prices of entertainment companies in South Korea shot up for five days after BTS topped the U.S. Billboard 200. The effect was also observed when companies tied to BTS, such as Netmarble, NetMark, Soribada, Key Shares, GMP, Diffie, and Mattel had their stocks rise.In October 2019, Mattel's international gross sales rose 10% to $721.7 million, lifted by sales of dolls based on BTS. Data firm SM2 Networks estimated Hyundai Motor received ₩600 billion ($502 million) in promotional results after commissioning BTS as their promotional models in 2018. The Bank of Korea Economic Statistics System stated that South Korea's BOP for music and entertainment reached $114.7 million in the first quarter of 2019, attributing this to an improved relationship between China and South Korea, and the breakout global success of BTS, particularly in North America.

Signed on as tourism ambassadors in 2017, the Seoul Metropolitan Government credits BTS for the recovery of Seoul's shrinking tourism industry following the 2016 THAAD controversy, bringing in an average of 790,000 tourists to Korea annually. In December 2018, the Hyundai Research Institute estimated that BTS were worth more than $3.67 billion to the Korean economy each year, attracting one in every thirteen foreigners who visited Korea. BTS' two day fan-meetings held in  Seoul and Busan in June 2019 generated a total economic effect of ₩481 billion ($408 million) to both cities, accounting for 1.6% of Busan's 2018 GDP, and 0.9% of Seoul's 2018 GDP. Their three-day concert finale in Seoul for their Love Yourself World Tour in October 2019 was estimated to have an economic value of almost ₩1 trillion ($862 million) and brought in 187,000 foreign visitors to South Korea. As of June 2019, BTS' economic effect on South Korea is estimated to be over ₩5.5 trillion ($4.65 billion) per year, about 0.3% of South Korea's GDP. This is comparable to Korean Air, the flagship airline of South Korea, who's percent contribution to South Korea's GDP is 0.7%. The 2019 annual ticket sales data released by the Korean online ticketing site, Interpark revealed that BTS' world tour "Love Yourself: Speak Yourself" concert at the Seoul Olympic Stadium ranked No.1, with BTS topping the ticket sales for the second consecutive year on Interpark. Outside of South Korea, BTS' concerts at Wembley Stadium were estimated to have brought around ₩100 billion ($82 million) as a direct economic effect to the city of London. After BTS went to Malta for their show, 'Bon Voyage 3', the Malta Tourism Authority reported a 237% increase of Korean tourists visiting the country, crediting BTS as the reason for the increase.
