I can still see my character is still logged in after my eyes adjusted to the brightness. I rubbed my eyes a little and scrolled up to the chat that I missed. There was hundreds of private messages that was sent to me. Some from my best friend Spy, some from my leader Syl, and some from that stupid gorilla Hara. When the chat is pink, it indicates private messages and everything was pink. 

My head started to throb so I just scanned through the messages. Majority of them were everyone asking me if I'm okay or if I'm back yet. There were the usual messages from Spy being an asshole, nothing new. She logged off before I got back but she told me goodnight in her last private message.

Syl, my leader, sent me a few messages as well. He asked me some questions and what my opinions on some topics thinking that I was still her instead of away from my computer. Since I am an officer, I have to give my thoughts and opinions for certain things such as which guild we should go against, which dungeon we should raid next, or drama in the faction and how to solve the situation. I told him sorry I was away from my computer for family matters and then answered all his questions he had for me.

Hara sent me private messages but not as many as I hoped for. I know I shouldn't have hoped for him to care that I was gone for awhile but it would be nice to feel missed by him a little.

 My headache starts to get worst so I scan the private messages faster. I say goodnight to everyone and log off.  It's really late, I look at the clock and it reads 11:36 P.M. At Granny's flower shop, I have to get there by 7 A.M and open it up the store. 

I really should be going to bed soon but I can't go without getting my daily dose of my romance fiction. It's like a routine, I have to read atleast 3 chapters a night before I go to bed or I won't sleep well. I know it sounds weird but it's very true. 

It's a little too late to take a shower; I don't want to wake anyone else up, guess I'll have to wait for the morning to.

The dimmed, flickering lights from the candles in the hallway seeps through the bottom of my closed door. I blow out the candles on my nightstand and the only light visible besides the candles in the hallway is the light from my phone as I put in my 4 digit password to unlock the screen. 

"Ugh too bright too bright!", the brightness from the phone blinds me. I hurriedly turn down the brightness and open the app to read the novel. Reading is the only thing besides gaming that I enjoy doing. It gives me the freedom to imagine myself as the main characters and go through the situations they go through. I know I will never get the opportunity to be in any of those types of conflicts or love triangles so the next best thing is to let my mind go freely when reading.

Romance novels are nice and all but horror novels are my favorite. Nothing beats the gore and blood. I also love reading about serial killers and their mindsets. What made them finally snap? What made them pick the ways to kill their victims? What happened to their family or how the family copes/coped with having a serial killer family member? 

After reading the 3 chapters I promised myself that I would only read, I need more; I crave more...I shamefully slid my finger up to read the next chapter. It started getting good, how could I not read what happens next? UGH I hate cliff hangers.

That extra chapter I wasn't supposed to read turned into 5 extra chapters I wasn't supposed to read. 

The main character in the novel is so dense! How could she be so oblivious and not see how much the male lead care for her. And she have terrible friends who give the worst advice. Why can't people just talk about their feelings? Is it that hard to tell someone how you feel about them? I never had the chance to fall in love. I've only ever gotten crushes on fictional characters from novels and shows.

On the top right of my phone screen, the time says 1:42 A.M. My lips lets out a long sigh as I press the little button on the side of my phone to lock the screen. 

Why can't my life be like the characters in the novel. How easy for them to bump into each other in the street and sparks fly like that? Maybe it's because I am trapped in this god forsaken house. 

I want to escape.

While mesmerized by the mysterious light, I failed to notice that I am surrounded by hundreds of eggs. Eggs much like the one I crawled out of.
Fortunately, I was one of the first ones hatched... If I wasn't that lucky as to have such a fortunate timing, I would be swimming in the belly of one these monsters!
Well, "siblings" sounds more correct, because I'm not sure yet that I am in another world so calling them monsters wouldn't be accurate and being born in the same nest must mean we share at least one of our parents, therefore, we are siblings.
*Grumble*
While we are at it, it would seem that I am getting a bit peckish. I need to hide before the same starts to apply to them.
I was surrounded from all sides, with many of the eggs still hatching and myself being one of those rare few who already hatched.
Lets just quickly analyze my surroundings.
To my left is a dirt-filled passage that is impassable for me at the moment. To my right is that mysterious old-looking fountain. Every other direction is just swarms of soon-to-be hungry predators.
But I am one of them, so why don't I just act like them?
Nope.
If my hobby ever taught me anything about these scenarios, it is that those who hide survive, not those who act strong. If I know anything that would be two things: Snakes and Novel scenarios.
I've been learning about snakes ever since I fell in love with them in preschool while on a zoo tour we went to as a class. It now feels like a lifetime ago... Nevermind.
I then even worked as a tamer once I grew older so I have quite a few accumulated years in experience with snakes.
That is why I know that once they get hungry they will start resorting to cannibalism. And I don't want to be the one that gets eaten, minutes after getting reborn.
That would have been such a heavenly comedy.

Yep, curtains down and roll the outro music because that will happen if I don't dip out of here to a safer place.
The second thing I'm very familiar with is novels.
I spent most of my free time watching anime, manga, and reading novels, but novels always rope me in the most.
From Chinese Cultivation novels to Japanese isekai. All kinds of the genre have been on my reading list.
In a situation like this, the best thing to do would be is to preserve while hiding for as long as I can, before making a move on those hatchlings who don't leave the nest by then. They should be feeding on each other, thus being easy prey for the nimble me, because snakes are at their weakest while they digest their food. They lose all of their speed and the only way to save themselves in that situation is to regurgitate what they ate.
Earlier, while checking my fangs, I noticed that I have two big needle-like fangs, which implies that I am a venomous snake. 
I don't know what kind of venom is at my disposal, but ill make sure to use it when I get a chance.
A sneak attack should give me the best opening for executing a successful venom injection.
That plan should do it...

H~ah... I need to start moving from here.
The fountain seems to be damaged enough to have cracks in it where I could hide.
Now, how should I move without limbs...?

Moving in this body is super weird, but I seem to be born with knowledge about how to naturally move with it.
It's just that the residue of the egg liquids left on my body gives me a weird slippery feeling, making it even weirder to move.
I should be thankful for this new brain of mine. Even though it is quite small now, it is useful nonetheless. Movement feels awkward but I kinda like it.
After setting my plan into action, I began slithering towards a small crevice at the bottom part of the fountain. 
This crevice was small enough so that only one snake my size could fit, which was perfect in case my siblings try to make a meal out of me.
It feels nice to be in an easily defendable place while knowing there are not many such places in this cave. It really puts me at ease knowing no one took it before me.

Day 2

Hungry~y...
It seems that getting hatched doesn't leave you with much sustenance. Originally I intended to wait for at least three days, but my metabolism seems a lot faster than what I thought it would be based on my knowledge from my previous life. In my world, newly hatched snakes could go on for weeks before they learn to hunt for themselves and very often their first hunt would result in their first meal.
It could have something to do with the fact that these siblings of mine, and I would assume the species as a whole, has massive breeding grounds where many eggs are laid so that the newly hatched babies have something to eat and by something to eat, I mean other babies...
In a primal sense, it does sound logical.
Don't judge before you hear me out!
If we don't eat each other there is no guarantee we will find anything else to eat, so a Swiss table is set as soon as you break your shell.
weather u will be a serving or the person served depends mostly on luck and special circumstances.
I am beginning to feel desperate...
Little snakes do look like noodles. I miss food from my human life...
I need to stop drooling. If I want to eat some noodles I just need to catch one of these horror noodles of death.
Alright, I'll do it. I'll eat one of them just so I don't die before I get a chance to escape from this pit of horrors!

Day 3

IM AN IDIOT!
So...
About my "Genius" plan from yesterday, or at least I think it was yesterday.
So, in short, I almost died... no scratch that, I almost got eaten alive!
As soon as I got out of my hidey-hole I saw a complete butcher fest.
My siblings did their best to eat each other, but there would constantly be another one coming while the previous one was digesting the one he himself ate moments before, making it a snake in a snake in a snake... For God knows how many layers.
That wasn't even the worst part.
Oh, trust me it gets better.
It seems that among all of the people... creatures in the cave, I am the only one who sees those magnificent lights emitting from the fountain.
How do I know that?
Well maybe if there were more snakes stunned from that sight I wouldn't have been surrounded from all directions while looking at the lights myself.
So, yes... I barely got myself out of there.
If it weren't for the fact that most of us still had a slimy residue from our eggs mucus, I would've been unable to literally slip through their, what I'd call, "a wall of brotherly love".
I'm pretty sure that I am the weakest link here, probably the only surviving hatchling who didn't have anything to eat since leaving the egg.
All of the others are already noticeably bigger than me, and barely 2 days passed.
This confirms my doubts about our metabolism, it is frighteningly fast. Many times faster than the snakes that I am familiar with.
And that is how my fabulous saga of searching for food ends. It really was lucky to barely slip past that wall of siblings, since a single bite would have been an end of me... Maybe since they had the advantage they didn't want to waste their venom as they had confidence they can catch me even without paralyzing me... At least that is what makes sense to me.
*Boom* *tremble* *tremble* *Shhhh*
Aw, Come on!
What now?
I don't dare go out right now so I'll just take a small peek...
It's a... Hmmm, a hole?
But why are its sides charred and blazing?!
A huge hole formed inside one of the stone walls to the side... 
Something very hot either entered or left the cave. I certainly hope its the latter.
By the explosive sound earlier and the trembling following it up, it should indicate that something left... but was something like that really in here with me the whole time?
Could it be that this fountain is actually like an underwater entrance?
No, that is hardly possible as I am under the edge of what should be a normal, closed off fountain, and as such there shouldn't be a hole in it because I would already be in it.
In any case, I hope there aren't any more of those things out there.
On the bright side for a change, that newly opened hole could be my ticket out of here I just need to wait for it to cool down and for my siblings to stuff themselves with each other. Their reduced speed from eating will secure my victory. Hehehehe.
Fuwaaaaaaah...
I could even take a nap if I block the entrance to this hole with pebbles, the rest of those pests out there should be too big to even use the entrance to this hidey-hole by now, but better safe than sorry.

About 30-ish minutes later...

Brrrrr, when did this hole become this unbearably cold?
I know it was cold before but now it actually makes me feel like I might die from the frostbite... and being cold-blooded by nature isn't helping at all...
Wait for a second, where did this water come from???
WHICH ONE OF YOU BASTARDS HAD A DRINK BEFORE GOING TO BED?!
If you come out clean right now, I might forgive you if you let me make a belt from you! 
Could it be that trembling some time earlier caused a crack at the bottom of the fountain to open and begin dripping into my hidey-hole?
Usually, I would have been mad but this time my stomach is thrilled to get close to something that can fill it up.
This stuff is drinkable right?
If I was back in the time when I was a human I would have boiled it first, that is of course if I were to completely disregard the fact that this water looks NOTHING like normal water!
Sure it is mildly similar, but it is nowhere close to being the same thing. This water gives off some weird radiation and when I say 'weird' I don't mean 'as if radioactive', what I want to say is 'as if not of the mortal world'. Strange star-like patterns and cluster appear when looked at from certain angles, but nothing is actually there... 
It looks even prettier than the light show above the fountain. 
Should I risk it? 
But my belly won't fill itself, so even if I die from drinking it, I don't really lose much as I didn't really achieve anything but get close to starving to death. 
Hmmm, what will it be then, to drink or not to drink...
Either way, death seems like an option, so I might as well gamble and drink it.
Phew, here goes nothing...

Ahh, this is worth living for. If this sweetness I feel is real and made from real sugar, I should be safe from starving for a while.

A miniature crack in the floor drained away the bit of water that managed to get into my hidey-hole while the crack above somehow sealed itself, not letting any more of the life saving liquid into my grasp.

I know they say good things never last long, but this didn't last a single moment and it was over.
I feel cheated!

My head is starting to hurt... 
There is no way I got poisoned by that, right?

Morning came sooner then later, I went about my routine after offering proper prayers to God, I'm no fan of churches but I believe God exists and he's the supreme being, I thankfully woke up early so I was able to eat a proper home cooked meal.

 The rest of the day went really well too, I had no problems as Mark, Tess and Matt was all absent, it was unsettling however but even the populars barely noticed and there wasn't really anything I could do so I held my peace.

 Three exact days after my banter with Mark, they –Mark, Tess and Matt still were all not present, I didn't know why but I couldn't shake the unpleasant feeling that something was wrong somewhere, so even if it was a herculean task, I asked the populars for their whereabouts, I mean Mark's and Tess', then I found out it was Mark's birthday week so the lovers were on a week's vacation to the popular city of love – Paris. Even at that, I still wasn't satisfied and that didn't actually explain the mysterious disappearance of Matt, as far as I could remember the Bookworm had a perfect attendance.

 Tuesday was when my worry was confirmed to be valid, all three of them were declared missing by the school management, Mark and Tess' parents only noticed they were gone yesterday and it turns out Matt is an orphan and the orphanage was obviously careless about his whereabouts until a family showed interest in his adoption, no one had a clue of where they could be, not even the populars. 

 The school's CCTV footage for the entire week was mysteriously wiped clean and the security guard on duty all week said they hadn't left the school compound, everyone was dumbstruck, even the teachers couldn't take a guess of what might have happened and the unusual part was that it disturbed me even more than I was willing to admit, why it was so was what I couldn't fathom.

Sure enough, the next day Eastwood high was more of a desert than a school, very few teachers and almost a nonexistent population of students were present, I could tell it was because of fear, no one knew what gobbled up two popular students and the Bookworm, they had probably all come to a conclusion that their disappearance had something to do with coming to Eastwood so they all stayed in the security of their respective homes.

 Cops were everywhere around and in the school building, they were trying their possible best to piece the puzzle together but there were very many unfounded pieces, pieces I might be able to help with, for example, only I knew Matt went to the library during lunch hour, only I knew Tess was also in the library at that time,it was only me that could tell that Mark probably went in after I told him off several days ago, I wanted to tell the cops that I might have figured out the link behind their disappearance, that maybe something or someone in the library was connected to their disappearance, but I wanted to get my facts proven first so I decided to go to the library – alone.

 The library's quietness was creepy, everything was just as it used to be, neat rows and rows of books stacked properly in the wooden shelves, reading desks were just as orderly as it used to, even the librarian's nude nail polish that had been there since I could remember hadn't moved an inch, I wandered all through the large empty space but not a thing was out of place except from the new stack of books at the rear end of the room.

 Those books however were kind of disorganized and out of place, I carefully looked around it for anything that could be a clue, 

Nothing.

I sighed in resignation and made to leave the room when I noticed a bright book cover strangely hanging out of the remaining books on the top shelve by my right, out of curiosity, I picked the book and checked the cover for the title,

The mystery.

It had the picture of a glowing golden mansion drawn very beautifully over the cover, however the author's name wasn't indicated. I turned the book over instinctively to check what the story is about and surprisingly, very few words were written as the synopsis.

It was strange, no author, no publisher, nothing. I opened the first page of the book, THE MYSTERY was boldly written on it, the next page had the table of contents, it only had fifteen chapters outlined on it;

Of all novels I've ever read, both electronic and paperback, this novel is sure the most unusual. I mean, who publishes a book without her name being indicated, no dedication, ten worded synopsis, unusual and unrelated chapter names? It was really strange but I couldn't put the book down, so I ignored all the warning alarms blaring in my head, went over to a study desk and opened the next page of the mysterious book –The mystery.

 

All is not what it seems," I whispered with my fingers crossed and everything changed, literally everything....

Elyon decided to dig deeper and asked a few of his senior "romance authors" some questions about their reason for writing romance stories.

The first question is… Why did you choose to write Romance Stories?

Anjeeriku: I'm comfortable writing romance stories compared to other genres. I'm a helpless romantic person and I like novels that can invoke other people's feelings.

Bajj: First of all, I like reading romance story. It was the reason why I read books before and reading other genres comes after. All in all, due to these romance fiction books, I got the opportunity to read more great books with different genre.

MishaK: That's what I read, so write that too.

Zehell2218: Because as reader, I want to read romance novel so when I write, I write romance since my motto is I write what I want to read.

Ikazainudin: The easiest genre. Everyone can relate.

End_of_Era: It wasn't a full on Romance, it was slice of life with romance which I feel was necessary with progression of the characters.

The second question… When you were making your ML and FL, did you imagine yourself as the lead of your story at any given point in time?

Anjeeriku: I would be a liar if I said no. There were instances that I'd put myself in my FL's shoes. Whenever that happens, my writing feels more passionate and truthful that sometimes it was hard to know where my fl starts and where I end. 

Shen Yi, LMD's ML was based on a person I've lost, The One That Got Away so it was sometimes hard not to self-insert whenever there were scenes that need to invoke feelings from readers. 

Bajj: I believe that every character the author was making and breathing life into it, a part of him/her is added to its character. But me imagining of being the ML/FL, never. I'm too pure for that. Kek

MishaK: Yes I did but sometimes. Otherwise you can't infuse emotions in your characters. It is important to understand your characters.

Zehell2218: Yes, I imagine myself as the lead. Of course, I tweak it a bit, such as in age and appearance. But mostly, the characteristics is similar to me.

Ikazainudin: FL and ML character based on what I want to be irl. Yup. I imagine that will be my love story.

End_of_Era: Yes, my leads had some ocassional self insertion.

The third question… If you were to choose some other genre aside from romance, what would you pick?

Anjeeriku: Fantasy. I always look up to those authors who can write fantasy stories/novels well. I believe writing a fantasy novel is harder than writing romance.

MishaK: I am writing a Fantasy romance aside from regular vanilla romance *smile emoticon*

Ikazainudin: Psychological/horror and maybe children story.

Anjeeriku: I'm sorry for not being inconsistent with updates. Y'all know I love you, but a little consideration and patience as I face this rough patch in my life would be very much appreciated.

Hello Guys! I hope you enjoyed this chapter of WWCG. Personally, I've read a few CEO novels myself. I also read some FL stories like A Slight Smile Is Devastating (Love O2O), Hidden Marriage, Doomed to be Cannon Fodder, Transmigrator meets Reincarnator, A Mistaken Marriage Match: A Generation of Military Counselor, There Is an Angel in That Church (short story), Eight Treasures Trousseau, Grabbing Your Hand, Dragging you Away, A Mistaken Marriage Match: Record of Washed Grievances…

Ai~ there's a few more that I won't add to the list because it will create a wall of text. Well anyways, the reason why I read these stories is to get an idea on "WHY" the ladies love to read them.

Let's just say that it's a unique way to see a world in the eye of a lady (if you are a man of course). When done properly, the execution of the story can capture the hearts of anyone, even male readers. I believe that no matter what gender you are, as long as you find the story interesting then it doesn't matter whether you are a guy or a gal no?

Perhaps, when I'm not too busy to write my stories, I'll once again pick a romance novel to read. Hopefully, I will find another hidden gem that will bring unexpected surprises to anyone who are lucky enough to find them.

So as promised, here is the Christmas Q&A for System Programmer. Special thanks to everyone who asked a question. :)


Let's start with the questions aimed at me personally : 

Q: Can you tell us more about yourself? 

Sure. I'm a 33 year old Belgian. I guess I'm a lot of older of the average web novel writer, lol.  I've been working as a software developer for about a decade now. I used to write a lot back in high school but college & real-life work kinda got in the way and I only recently picked up this hobby again and System Programmer is the first novel I'm writing. 

Q: What were some of the inspirations for this novel?

So I'm sure most of you have read a system novel. The main character lives an ordinary life and suddenly gets a system out of nowhere, most of the time by dying and being reincarnated. Have you never wondered? Who the hell is making those systems? Is there like a company in heaven distributing them to heroes? Someone should write a book about that! Wait a minute…

Q: What's your favorite color?

Blue


Q: What made you come up with the idea of having the MC, Joshua, being a summoned soul instead of having him reincarnate and being able to summon a soul?

To continue on the previous question: my first idea was that Catherine would be the world's chosen heroine and she would be granted a system by the heavens to complete her task. However, the system was still a beta version and would be buggy as hell. So the heavens would send her a recently deceased programmer in order to debug the system. In this early draft, Joshua was stuck inside Catherine's head that would look like some sort of sci-fi command center, trying to figure stuff out. 

I ended up alternating it for several reasons:

Having Joshua being the creator of the system makes the whole world much more personal for him. While it would have been funny to have him press random buttons to see what it does and accidentally turn Catherine's skin blue or some other dumb stuff would have been amusing, it would also have gotten old quickly. Besides, if Joshua had wasted like 10 chapters figuring out how to use the system to program a 'Hello World!' command, the plot would be moving at a snail's pace.  In the current version, Joshua knows how the system works since he made it and is slowly adding functionalities to it. Luna is his life's work, Joshua considers it his magnum opus.  

As for why have him being summoned & not vice-versa, I always saw Joshua more as a tactician than a fighter, while Catherine has been training for more than a decade now. Being inside Catherine's head allows him on developing stuff, which he loves, while Catherine does most of the day to day business. 


Q: Where do you stop on power levels? Is there a chance main characters could have powers rivaling of God in the future?

I do not intend to go past the 10 ranks I've introduced, as for how powerful they will be then, we'll see. 

Q: What are some of your favorite books, in print or online?

Hmm, let's see. I'm a big fan of fantasy novels (Lord of The Rings, Harry Potter, A Song of Fire and Ice, currently reading the Kingkiller Chronicles)
I also like good mystery novel like Agatha Christie. 
I do love Lovecraftian horror, even though I've read some Lovecraft and I find his style very hard to read.
As for Joshua, I would say his favorite novel is probably 'Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea'. 

Q: Why hasn't Joshua done …. (insert OP thing here) yet? / Will Joshua ever do ….?

This is a grouping of several questions.  So, I think you all understand I'm not going to reveal future plot points in this Q&A. I'm not going to ruin my own story. :D

However, I'll address the issue: Please consider that since the start of the novel, less than 2 months have passed. In that regard, we can say Joshua has accomplished a LOT. If any real programmer could do 1% of what Joshua did in 2 months he would probably be a billionaire. :D 

Also, please consider I'm already spending a lot of time about Joshua developing the system. I could increase the number of experiments, but then the plot would barely advance, so I keep alternating between Joshua making new stuff and their adventures. 

I hope this clarifies it for everyone, although there is one thing in particular...

Q: WHERE IS THE FREAKING RAILGUN???????????

So, I know a LOT of people have commented about Joshua developing a railgun. He may do it eventually. But keep in mind, at his core, Joshua is a programmer. What's interesting him right now is runes and he's not really interested in guns. The way he developed those combat drones matches his personality a lot more than a firearm. 

Q: There's one thing that everyone wants to know, and that is: 
Will Joshua and Catherine end up together? Or will Catherine end up with someone else, and our man Joshua will end up forever alone?

Oh boy, what did I say about no future spoilers, lol. Let me say this: I consider the relationship between Joshua & Catherine one of the most important parts of the novel. Now, as you all have noticed, the link between the two is pretty unusual. I dare say, Joshua does love Catherine. He said so himself a few times. Although, he doesn't consider it romantic love and he's very happy with his current situation. I do believe if there is ever a change in that, it will most likely come from Catherine & not him. 


Joshua: I don't see why everyone is so confused, how many men can claim to be inside their soulmate 24/7? Most don't even last 5 minutes.
*Catherine appears and smashes Joshua with a sledgehammer.*



Q: What is your personal view on whether or not catnip is good for catgirls?

I wasn't expecting this one, lol. If it makes your catgirl happy, go for it!



Q: This might sound like something straight from Joshua, but could two different Lunas communicate with each other and if they can, is the original world already under Luna's control?

Haha. This isn't Terminator. Joshua designed Luna to always protect its user, and Luna isn't a sentient being. Of course, Joshua died before the final version went in mass-production so who knows what the people who take over the project will do. :D


Q: Is the underground similar to the Dragon Age Deep Roads?

The main inspiration for the underworld is the Underdark found in D&D. I'm fairly certain the Deep Roads are also based on the Underdark. If you're unfamiliar with the concept, imagine gigantic caverns below ground spreading for kilometers without end, with bizarre civilizations living in some areas. (mostly evil bastards)

Q:  Are there different cultivation systems in other/current world's we know the summoner path are there other types?

Probably, if you take other worlds into account I guess each one has their specialty. They're most likely not be relevant to the plot though. 

Q: Can animals use the summoner system and if not why?

Animals don't know how to cultivate as far as we know so nope. 

Q: Will Joshua ever think to build a weapon platform in orbit of the planet and fire a metal rod at high speed to kill that Crow if they meet again?

*Hearing this Joshua's eyes started to shine*

Joshua: PLEASE PUT THIS IN THE STORY!!!!!
Me: No.
Joshua: WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH! Catherine, he's being mean to me!

Q: Will Joshua create a mecha for Catherine?

Joshua: PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Me: No. 
Joshua: YOU'RE THE WORST WRITER EVER!

Q: To extrapolate on energy, I feel that Joshua with technology and Catherine on nature, the two are absolutely capable of growing off of each other. So should the concept of terraforming, genetics, and other forms of nature enrichment be introduced? (perhaps something like zoological domes and terrariums in Joshua's side, which could be breeding biodiversity to be released? As Catherine's world gets bigger, so does the amount of different biomes she can have. (Variations on forest or plains at first? jungle could get poison and the like? Magical biomes n stuff?)

So this is a very interesting question, but going into details would be very spoilerific. I do intend to have Catherine & Joshua grow together in some way like Joshua's been doing with his dams. We'll see how they evolve. :D


Q: What are the gods in this story's world? Every author that dabble with the divine have different interpretations of what gods are, so what's yours would be?


Interesting. So far, the only characters that are supposed to be Gods so far are Leonard and the Crow. We have no idea what Leonard can do for now. As for the Crow, while he's obviously very powerful. He's clearly not as omnipotent he pretends to be. The simple fact that Joshua managed to escape from him indicates that. What the limit of their abilities is, that is something we'll find later on though, so please be patient. 

Q: Say my greetings to Cynthia!

Q: For how long will this novel go on?

No one actually asked this, but I figure I'll add it myself. I have a general draft of the whole plot and I know how I want the story to end. I think it will come down to 4 or 5 volumes in total. I hope to finish the story by the end of next year, but no promises. :D 

Q: (For Webnovel only) Have you consider going premium? 

So I got contacted by the Webnovel staff about 2 months ago and they asked me if I was interested in becoming a contracted author. I did turn the offer down. The main reason is I do work full-time as a software developer. Webnovel mostly encourages the authors to release at least a chapter per day and once you're contracted you have to write X number of words every month. With my current job, this is an impossible rhythm for me and I like to write at my own pace.

I am working towards a release on Amazon Kindle, however. I hired someone to edit volume 1 and I have an artist friend who is making me a nice cover. :D The novel will remain free to read on both Webnovel and Royal Road though, don't worry. The Kindle release will be there for people who want to support this little writing project. We'll see how it goes, but for now, I'm aiming for a release around the end of January. 


Q: Will you write other novels after this one?

Again no one asked this but whatever. :D 

I'd like to! I got ideas for 5 other novels in my head actually. Of course, writing a novel is a big project, so I'll see how this one does once on Kindle.

Let's now move to questions aimed at the characters from the story!

Ladies first, so let's start with the questions aimed at Catherine. 





Q: Catherine, your Element is Water right? Can you with enough water in the air, create rain or stop the rain?

Catherine: Unfortunately with my current level, I can't create such a large phenomenon. We'll see once I grow stronger. 
Joshua: The day it happens, I'll gladly perform 'singing in the the rain' for you!


Q: Can you split water into its components to breath underwater?

Catherine: Yes. 


Q: What is your favorite Dress?

Catherine: I like the blue dress that I'm wearing in the upcoming cover! Look forward to it!

Q: Do you ever feel guilty about having summoned another human being, Joshua, and binding his soul - and therefore his life - to your own without his consent? (I don't recall Joshua getting a choice in it at all.) I'm asking since none of the other summoners we have met have had a human. Humanoid, sure, as seen with the Angel, but they don't relate as well as a normal human would, no?

Catherine: Honestly, I had my doubts initially, but Joshua looks very happy now, so I don't think I should feel guilty. 
Joshua: Living inside your head is the second best thing that ever happened to me! The best one is discovering the existence of French Fries!

Q: What does Catherine think of her family?

Catherine: We haven't seen them much, but I'm very close to them. I hope I get the chance to hang out more with them later in the story!

That's all of Catherine. We actually have a question for Boris of all people!

Q: Boris, what do you and Eric usually do whenever you hang? And how is it not being able to talk to anyone besides Eric?

Boris: …..
Eric: Hum, allow me to ask him. Uhu I see. 

So I can answer the first part myself: We like to drink while playing card games! Of course, now we're on a mission so we don't really have time to party. As for talking to other people, he was never a talkative one anyway so he doesn't really mind. Besides, I'm here should the need arise!

Finally, we arrive at what everyone has been expecting: The questions aimed at Joshua! 


*Joshua arrives on the stage, wearing a full tuxedo. He throws a flower bouquet at the audience and starts blowing kisses in every direction.*

Q: If you were stuck in an island, and could only bring one thing with him, what would he bring?

Joshua: Obviously, a teleportation device!

Q:  When you tried making a laser sword did you try to create cold plasma and keep it in a stable rotational bladelike form by utilizing magnetic fields or how was your approach on it?

Joshua: Honestly I just tried to make a Star Wars weapon. That obviously failed since they're not real, which is why I altered the design until I got something that worked. 

Q: Can you make a Jojo reference?

Joshua: Yare Yare Daze *poses*

Q; Joshua, if you can create things in your soul world through imagination, can you theoretically create incredible computer/generators with zero resistance using superconductors? 

Joshua: Even for imaginary objects, there has to be some logic behind them. If I try to make an object that's literally impossible to make, it won't work. Imagine if Catherine asked me to create a sword that could cut through anything. The only way I could make this is if I had knowledge of every material in the universe and had a method on how to cut them then combine them into a single weapon. It's just impossible. 

Q: Do you think you can after leveling up more create a Virtual World (like Matrix) in your Soul World?

Joshua: Only if I get to cosplay as Neo. 

Q:  Does T-Rex taste like chicken? I mean it is its ancestor.

Joshua: It does actually, I recommend it with mayonnaise. 

Q: How do you feel about putting pineapple on pizza?

Joshua: Arrest this madman!

Q: If you were transported 400 years into the past with no clothes or anything else, how would you prove that you were from the future?

Joshua: I wouldn't, I would kick off the industrial revolution 200 years in advance. This would allow my alternate self in that timeline to be even more tech savvy. 

Q: Toilet paper, over or under?

Joshua: I don't need to use it since I became a ghost. 

Q: Is a hot dog a sandwich?

Joshua: Depends, are you talking about the meal or the hot female dogs you find on furry sites? 

Q: If life were a video game, what would some of the cheat codes be?

Q: You're a mad scientist, what scientific experiment would you run if money and ethics weren't an issue?

Joshua: I would create 2000 clones of Catherine. The world never has enough Catherine. 

Q: Do you miss your family?

Joshua: A bit, but I'm a scientist at heart. Maybe, someday, I'll find a way to meet them again. 

Q: What about Joshua's favorite genre of film? 


Joshua: Obviously, comedy. 


Q: Does Luna have Indian Tech support? 

Joshua: Only if Venkat Subramaniam agrees to do it. 

Q: What is the meaning of life as a ghost?

Joshua: 42

Q: So, Joshua. What's your qualified guess to the real Meaning behind the Question for the Answer 42?

Joshua: More seriously, I believe it's different for everyone else. People often say all human lives are equal and all life is precious. I disagree. I believe life by itself has little meaning, it's how people live their lives that give it value. I also think the life of a single human is not that important, you have to take humanity as a whole. If you dedicate your life to a cause that's productive to mankind and allow it progress further, then yes, your life a lot of value. If, on the contrary, you're a scumbag who murders people in their sleep for fun, then your contribution to the global effort is negative, and you're better off dead. Bottom line is, everyone must find their own answer. I already stated mine in the story, I want to see mankind evolve and see where progress takes it. I don't know what the endpoint will be for me, as a continue to evolve Luna, but the simple prospect is wonderful.

To my dearest readers, before I get on with this chapter, I would like to thank all of you for reading my novels and hoping to write more goodies for everyone to read. There were many up and downs and low points for me in the year of 2019 and even before that, but I managed to knock down every obstacle along the way and continue fighting them as problems persist. 

Recently, I've been asked by a former classmate for why I strived to continue writing despite not earning any money from it. I've been somewhat wanting to tell my readers this part for a while, but wasn't sure when would be a good time to talk about it. For those who want to skip the remaining part of my message, because the upcoming paragraphs will be a little bit about myself, you are allowed to do so. For other readers who continues reading the rest of this note, I'll like to say thank you because it means a lot to me. Regardless, this author loves all of you dearly!

*Ahem* A little story time. At first, I was one of the readers who enjoyed the content that this platform provided. From being a reader to writing my own novels today, it feels just like it was yesterday when I opened my laptop and started typing the first chapter of my first novel. Behind all these wild, romantic, gruesome, and whatever kind of tags my stories bring up, I do have a personal back story to share. 

I won't get into specific details, but to sum it up, I once had a relationship that lasted almost three years and at that beginning. I thought it would last much longer. With all the funny and goofy parts to relationships after the honeymoon phase, mine was rather the opposite. The beginning of the relationship was a good one, but as college life began and our busy schedules chipped out like half the amount of time we spent with each other; the relationship turned for the worst. My ex-boyfriend became abusive, which I wouldn't drag on the details.

I came to a realization that it was a toxic relationship and no longer how it used to be. When I finally had the courage to break things off with him around two years ago (trust me, much harder than it sounds.), I was in a miserable state. He would harass me through emails and every social media platform that he could contact me on. Literally, living became painful for me. I felt anxious, scared, and looked down on myself. 

I had close friends, but because I trapped myself inside the corner of my little world from the abusive two years (almost three) my mindset made me underestimate myself and the people around me. I became insecure and couldn't bring myself to talk about why I was feeling such fear and pain. 

This might be a bit awkward or make some feel disturbed, but there was a point where I locked myself in the bathroom and kept hearing the vibrations to my cellphone; knowing that it was my ex who was sending me paragraphs of rage. I even had the message typed up of getting back together with him, but I was very proud that I backspaced it. From limiting myself to two options of either giving in to his rage by getting back together with him or harming myself; I gathered my courage and called a friend for help. I didn't understand why but that one friend gave me a sense of security that I felt like I could depend on. 

I removed all my social media accounts that my ex knew of and slowly tried to face my fear. After nine months of struggling through emotionally and physically in finding reasons to be happy and out of fear, I finally came out of my comfort zone and told my close friend everything. There were no tears that I had expected myself to have. There were no awkwardnesses like I thought there would be. There was nothing, but a great listener and attentive close friend whom comforted me and talked to me in a way without judging me. There was still anxiety at that point, but I knew it was up to me to overcome that fear. 

Anyways, I started writing my novels because I wanted to find an outlet for my problems. Everything and every single word that I write out are based on people that I've met or just characters with personalities similar to those whom I've met. From writing my first few chapters to reaching my 200th chapter... to this third novel, it's been a long way. From seeing one comment to many comments that followed and the many readers who added my novel to their libraries. I felt happy. It gave me support and something to look forward to.

Though the past years had been a struggle for me and an internal fight, I could definitely pat my chest and say that it was a fight that I've won. For those who ever encountered or know that their friends or family members who have been through or is going through something similar, please let them know that they are not the only ones out there. It is okay to feel weak and helpless. It is okay to not to feel okay and cry out sometimes. It is alright to take your time and sort things out, but one thing that should never be a solution is harming yourself. 

Before I processed that the past relationship was an abusive one, my brain was only processing the words that he would say to me and undermine me as a human being. I had low esteem and confidence, but things went very much better. It was a difficult time to get through, but like an old saying goes, there is always a rainbow after a rainstorm. And the day will get brighter.

As a writer on this platform, I really loved and enjoyed all my readers support. Thank very much for coming such a long way with me and the new readers who supports my novel. I'm sorry this half of the chapter is literally me blabbing about myself, but spare me as this is my New Years note for all of you. I love you all dearly and a lot. Your support means a lot to me, and you guys are my inspiration to writing more and more stories. My motivation also came from my close friend who endlessly supported me even though most would tell me that it is useless because I earn nothing from this. But to me, money is never the most important.

I wish everyone a Happy New Years and may all your goals for this year come true. I wish everyone will live their year filled with smiles on their faces and the fullest of many years to come. 
My upcoming 2020 year will be a busy one as I will be job hunting and trying to figure out what I want to do in the future. I will try my best to give consistent updates and believe me, this author likes writing these novels to get away from stress even if it is temporarily.

CHAPTER BEGINS HERE XD !!!

Upon entering their condo, Susu noticed the decorations in the living room. They stripped off their jackets and hung it up on the hooks by the wall. She walked into the open kitchen and saw a cake on the dining table.

While she was out today, Chen Mu bought ingredients to make a New Years cake for her. He baked a mufti flavored layer cake with her favorite Chocolate, Red Velvet, and Vanilla flavors as individual layers and homemade Passionfruit Cream as a coat on top. On top of the cake was neatly cut strawberries creating a heart shape and a chocolate sign in the center with his script writing, "My 2020 vision is you." 

She giggled and covered her cheeks in surprise, "you are so cheesy!"

His arms wrapped around her body, as he bent forward and whispered to her ears, "It's true, though. With you by my side for the rest of every day, everything is perfect. 2020 perfections. Get it?" 

"Pfffft, geez. How did you have the time to prepare all these?" She leaned her head backwards and turned her head sideways; meeting his lips. Her eyes focused on his cold, slightly dry lips. His gaze traveled downwards, following her eyes, "when you least expect it."

"Your lips are chapped." She looked at him with a naughty smile on her face. 

"and what are you going to do about it?" He asked with anticipation in his voice. 

"This." She opened her purse, applied lip balm on her own lips and pulled him close with her hand behind his neck. Her lips spread the moisturizing lip balm over his and slowly nourished it. She made sure to kiss him until his lips turned soft and smooth enough for her to part from.

"There, all good," her thumb rubbed his lips back and forth while her smile was obvious on her face. He chuckled and hugged her close, "Do you remember our first kiss?"

"Hmm? Of course I do." She looked up to meet him affectionate gaze. 

"Remember how you jumped up from getting scared of a jump scare scene from that horror movie and ended up on my lap. We were just inches apart or even just centimeters apart from each other; at least our lips were. You took the initiate and kissed me." His voice became gentler as she placed her head on his chest with her ears close enough to hear his heartbeat. She closed her eyes and answered, "mmm," once in a while.

Sometimes she blushed and other times she snuggled closer as he talked about the littlest things that they've been through the past year. When he felt her snuggle closer to his body like a kitten, he chuckles and strokes her hair as he continued. Sometimes he would look down to meet her innocent pair of eyes. Other times, he would peck her tiny forehead.

By the time he was finishing up with his sweet thoughts of the previous year and the down lows that they've been through, he separated their bodies and brushed her hair behind her ears while brushing the sides of her face with his fingers. 

"Thank you for always being there for me, supporting me endlessly and unconditionally. Thank you for coming into my life and giving me this chance to dote on you like this. Thank you for staying by my side and making my life much happier than it was than before. And finally, thank you for giving me your love, heart, body, and everything any man could ever ask for. I love you dearly and will always do."

His confession was like moving rhythms to her ears as tears filled her eyes. He wiped away some tears before bending down once again to close their gap and kiss her. Her fingers stopped him midway as she took a deep breath and looked up to respond to him.

"Thank you for making my year reach its fullest with joy and happiness. From everyday silliness to our cheesy lines, you've lifted my foot from a hellhole. Rather than thanking me for doing everything and giving me so much credit for all those times, it should be me saying all those back to you. You don't know how much you really mean to me. Being able to give myself wholeheartedly and physically to you was the most wonderful thing that ever happened to me. I love you so much and hope for even more for the future."

After saying what she had said, his eyes teared up slightly and she let out a soft laugh before wiping his cheeks and closing the gap between them. This was the last kiss that they'll share for this year, but many more kisses will come for the upcoming year. With the beginning of this rollercoaster twist and turned in the last year, the following year will be a better one with less drama but more love. 

Fireworks blasted and exploded in the glamorous night sky; coloring their vision. They hugged each other and enjoyed the view at the balcony as bright sparks painted everywhere. After a little while, she felt a little cold so they went back in and waited for the countdown to begin. 

Chen Mu insist on leaving the lights off as he had another surprise ready for her. The couple sat on the couch and turned on the television to watch the ball drop as they cuddled intimately on the couch.

As the countdown began, the couple looked each other in the eye and smiled,

"10..."

"9..."

"8..."

"7..."

"6..."

"5..."

"4..."

"3..."

"2..."

"1..."

"Happy New Years!" The mark of their New Years was a kiss filled with passion and sweetness. Chen Mu smiled, "Honey, look up to the ceiling for a bit."

"Hmmm?" She looked up and LED lights turned on. "Hahahahaha, you!" she jumped on him as he laid her on the couch and hugged her close. Looking up at the ceiling, Chen Mu had turned on the LED lights that he taped to the ceiling. It was his Capricorn sign and her Taurus sign traced like mini stars on the ceiling with a cupid's arrow crossing them. 

She lifted her left hand and told him to complete the other half of her heart with his right hand. Together, the heart that they created fit perfectly around the Led lights within their vision.

"Perfect." She whispered and turned her head to meet his. Once again, their lips met and covered each others over and over.

A game of "Let's Switch" changed the fate of three youths.

Tian Yuo (Age 6): "Nobody will notice, especially her! I don't want to play with her."

Chen Mu frowned from his behavior, "But she is your future fiance. You're meeting her for the first time anyways."

Tian Yuo: "Come on, let's switch for the day. Sometimes even our mothers can't figure us out because we swapped our clothes and accessories! Please...I'm going to tell my mom that I don't want to marry her anyways."

Chen Mu: "I still don't think it's a good idea.."

Tian Yuo: "Didn't you hate hanging out with Chu Yao? I'll help you avoid her for this whole school semester if you switch with me."

Chen Mu sighed, "Fine. Only this time."

Tian Yuo: "I don't want to marry Yin Susu. I don't love her, and she will never be my bride."

He shouted out loud in front of his parents, Yin Zin Leung (Susu's father), and Karen (Susu's step sister). Before leaving the room, he grabbed Karen's hand and looked back with a sharp glare towards Susu, "I will only have one wife and she's Karen."

Karen handed Susu a glass of wine, "Sis, please forgive me. Bro Yuo and I really love each other. I'll drink this glass of wine as an apology. It's my engagement night, so I hope you could give us your blessing."

Susu felt tightness in her chest as she chugged the glass of wine in her hands down her throat. She didn't notice the smirk on Karen's face while she was swallowing the wine. 

Feeling ill, Susu went upstairs to escape the loudness that gave her a headache. She leaned against the wall and sloppily entered a guest room. Once entered, she stripped naked from feeling the heat in the room.

The next morning, she woke up to find Tian Yuo sleeping naked next to her. Her face turned pale as she felt cramps on her lower abdomen when she moved. A noticeable blood stain was on the bed...

'Did..w..what happened..?'

The guest room door swung open and Karen shockingly stood by the door. Her loud gasp and unsettled tone rung Susu and Tian Yuo's ears, "Sis! Bro Yuo!! How could you two do this to me?"

Tian Yuo immediately sat up and caught a glimpse of what had happened. Quickly he refuted any accusations that were thrown at him, "It's not like that! I didn't! Karen, it was her! She drugged me! I drank the wine that was from her and then I woke up just now!!"

He angrily looked to his left and growled, "Yin Susu! I never thought you'd go this far!!!"

Susu cried, "It's not me!!! It's Karen!!!"

Karen's tears were similar to a nonstop flood, "Sis, you're too much!!! How could you!!!"

Tian Yuo coldly scowled at Susu on their wedding night, "We may be married, but I would never touch you. You'll live with an emptied title. You'll never get the love you wish to get from me. Understand?"

Chen Mu spotted Tian Yuo at a bar after paying Susu a visit. He ran towards the handsome man who was flirting with a group of girls, "You bastard! If you never loved her, why marry her in the first place?!"

"To torture her."

"If you don't know how to care for your own wife, then I won't hold back! I won't let anyone hurt her. Not even if you are my closest friend."
