One more week. Tensions where high throughout the entire school. People were focused on the upcoming dance. Talking about their dates, their plans, among other things. I didn't blame them. If I didn't know better, I would be too. Scorpio and I tried our best to overlook Lucifer's impending arrival, but it was harder to than I thought. The thought of someone being as strong as him, of having to fight someone significantly stronger than me, terrified me. If I let him win, I know I'll be left with nothing, just like 5 years ago. 

"So," Scorpio leaned her head on my shoulder, "what ya thinking about?" I shrugged, "Not sure." 
"Sure you are." I looked at her, then fell backward. "Looks like you realized." For a second, I completely forgot she was a mind reader. "Yeah, I did!" She laughed, and helped me up. "Are you gonna say what you were, or just leave it in your head?" 
"For now," I sighed, and sat back up, "I'll keep it as to myself as I can." Sometimes, I think she knew me better than I did. For a few seconds, I didn't know what I was thinking about. Then, of course, she asked. "You know it's going to be okay, right?" Scorpio said, after a 5 minute silence. "I- what?" 
"This whole situation. We're going to get through it." 
"Oh please, we both know you can't see that far into the future." 
"Nope. But I can just tell." She looked up at me. 

Scorpio isn't usually someone who anyone would consider 'cute', if anything, she was naturally threatening, but there were times where I could describe her as that. Suddenly, the door opened. "Ah, the two lovebirds in here." Pisces said, looking directly at Scorpio, "Hope you two weren't making out too hard." 
"Pisces," Jamie followed her, "we talked about this." Pisces set down a bag filled with assorted jewelry and books. "What's that?" Scorpio eyed the bag. "I just made a trip home, picked up some things." 
"Alright, you've got my interest. What is it?" 
"I'm glad you asked," she grabbed some things, "Mostly just jewelry for the dance, BUT, I grabbed some of dad's books." Brit's head poked out of her room, "I'm listening." Her ears were perked up. "Most of them are just basic spell-books, mainly for," she looked at Brit, whose eyes were almost entirely pupil, "Brit." Her tail moved frantically around, and she ran and looked at the books. "Although, there are a few that may be useful to us," she glared at Brit, who was already absorbing every word in the text, "this," she heaved a book out of the bag, "is a series of texts collected from the war, left on Earth by Demons. No one on Earth could read it. Until, that is," she looked at me, and raised her eyebrow.

"If you expect me to read that whole thing in a week," I looked at the book, which looked to be roughly 30,000 pages, "you may as well sit next to Lucifer when he comes and hoist a throne around for him." 
"I don't expect you to read all of it," she flipped through, and set the book on the floor when she was around halfway through, "I just need you to read this one." she pointed to one which had a crude picture of what looked to be two Angels and two Demons, separated by a octopus looking creature with wings. Jamie looked at the page, then became so pale I could practically see her muscles. "I-" she put her hand over her mouth, "I'll be back." She ran into the bathroom, and started retching. I looked at the page closer. "There's not anything abnormal about it," I said, skimming the text, "For the most part, it just seems like basic lore stuff." 
"Yeah, I know that, it's what this says that we need to know." she pointed to the lower part of the page, around halfway to the bottom. 

"Long ago, we lived together. I remember the days, but then something changed. I don't remember when, or why, but we became enemies. As if we didn't even know our past relations. It is with a heavy heart I write this, as I cannot fathom what our war could bring. If there is one thing I wish for, it is for the old one to be released, so that we may have a common enemy once more. Until that day arrives, however, we are stuck in our fruitless effort of superiority. Signed,"
"Signed who?" 
"I don't know. It can't read it." Brit walked over, and looked it, then jumped back. "Don't say the name." 
"Why?" I looked closer at the name, trying to decipher it. "That name, isn't even a name. It's a spell."
"Alright," Pisces looked at the page, "what would this spell do?" Brit closed the book, "If you must know, it could lead to the destruction of the Universe itself. If we were to say that 'name', it would break the seal that's been holding Cth- I mean, the old one, in the void since before the war even began." 

Jamie walked out of the bathroom. "I saw him again." Her skin was somehow more pale than before, but this time, her eyes were wet, and tears streaked down her face. "Lucifer, he's closer than we thought." We all scrambled to get up, "H-how close?!" Scorpio asked, reaching for her scythe. "Somewhere around Jupiter."

After years of living on the streets, Jamie Charleston and Bill Walker finally go to Trost Academy, a school for those paranormally gifted. With a plan to destroy every race in the universe, and local gangs wreaking havoc among the streets, this is going to be one hell of a year.



Zhang Zian was Pi's only friend. The other elves in the pet shop could talk but Pi couldn't, and Pi was the only elfin that could type, so Pi found it difficult to communicate with others. Zhang Zian had always been worried about Pi. When he couldn't keep it company, who could relieve its loneliness?

In China, it was forbidden to have primates as pets, so Pi couldn't appear before humans. Zhang Zian couldn't explain to others that Pi wasn't an animal, it was an elfin, ruling out the possibility of Pi making friends in real life. 

Zhang Zian felt that the Internet was a good space to make friends. As the saying goes, on the Internet, nobody knows who you are.

Pi carefully thought about his suggestion, nodded, and typed: I'll try it.

So, Zhang Zian helped it join the group established by the readers. The application was approved almost instantly. The readers in the group were so exhilarated seeing that Pi had joined the group.

"Are you the author?"

"Are you really the author?"

"Are you actually the author of Pet King?"

Everyone asked questions one after another.

Zhang Zian looked at Pi with encouragement. Having just learned the skill, Pi captured the screen of the platform for authors on the Qidian website and sent the image to the group. Then Pi typed: Hello, everyone. I'm the author of Pet King. Thank you for your support!

The readers were even more excited, expressing their love of the book and their curiosity about the author.

Pi was bemused, not knowing what questions to answer first or how to answer them. Fortunately, the group's manager helped Pi in a timely manner. 

[Killed by A Sword]: Everyone, don't harass the author. You'll delay Popo's writing. 

Zhang Zian was surprised. They've given Pi a nickname?!

"Eeek."

Pi smiled. It seemed to like the nickname.

Pi found that the readers were very friendly. Whether they were discussing the plot of Pi's book or talking about their life experiences, they were very polite, which was completely different from what Pi had imagined. Every once in a while, Pi would slip in one or two sentences to express its own opinions. Each comment from Pi was praised by the readers, who would subsequently ask Pi a series of questions or urge Pi to release more chapters, making Pi feel overwhelmed again. 

As Zhang Zian watched the interaction between Pi and the readers, he knew it was a great idea to ask Pi to join the Book Group.

While chatting with the readers, Pi refreshed the website from time to time. Previously, the number of readers who had put Pet King in their libraries was 9,853. Now, the number was increasing.

9,887.

9,923.

9,945.

9,972.

Finally, the number became 9,999.

Zhang Zian held his breath, and Pi minimized the chat room window. Their eyes stared at the number, waiting for the moment when it became ten thousand.

However, reality was different from their expectations. When Pi refreshed the website once again, the number decreased to 9,998.

"Eeek."

Pi lowered its head. Every time it saw the number decline, it'd be so frustrated and thought that the readers gave up reading the book because of its poor writing. 

"Pi, raise your head."

Zhang Zian patted its shoulder, comforting it. "Pi, you have to remember that your novel isn't the Renminbi and it will never be liked by everyone. You should know that only two out of ten customers actually decide to buy my pets. Money means nothing to me." 

Pi raised its head and pointed at its chest. The gesture meant: You should be ashamed of what you just said.

However, Zhang Zian's joke had helped Pi regain its confidence and courage. Pi quickly forgot the one reader who had just left and refreshed the webpage again.

"Eeek!" Pi danced with joy. 

"Finally, 10,000! High-five!" Zhang Zian raised his right palm.

Pi lifted its small pink hand and gently hit Zhang Zian's palm. Zhang Zian wanted to celebrate, but his cell phone suddenly rang.

He took out his cell phone, thinking that it was a message from an acquaintance or merchant. He was surprised to find that Pet Hunter had opened with new three tips. 

[Game Tips]: Congratulations! Your Molecule Monkey has collected enough Strength of Faith to upgrade!

[Game Tips]: Your Molecule Monkey is currently an Elite level elfin. After upgrading, it will become an Elite/Premier elfin. 

[Game Tips]: Are you upgrading now? If you choose "No," you can upgrade it later.

[Yes/No, remind me later]

Zhang Zian was stunned. It was his first time encountering the upgrade of an elfin. 

His palm was still touching Pi's, so Zhang Zian could feel its temperature that was slightly higher than that of humans. He looked at Pi, who was staring at the computer screen with joy and refreshing the page with the other to see the number increase.  

Zhang Zian glanced at the computer screen. The Add to Library number had become 10,031.

Although he didn't pay attention to the time, he believed that the game's upgrade option popped up when the number had reached 10,000.

Was that a coincidence?

"Pi, I'm going to the bathroom. Stay here by yourself for a while. By the way, don't just chat with the readers, start writing," he said, taking his hand back.

Pi nodded and excitedly launched the Word document. However, the novelty of joining the group hadn't yet passed, and Pi still occasionally looked at the chatroom.

Zhang Zian entered the bathroom, closed the door, and said in a low voice, "Navigation Elfin, are you there?"

[Navigation Elfin]: At your service.

A flashing light appeared on the screen of Zhang Zian's cell phone. 

"Navigation Elfin, is this 'upgrade' the kind I imagined?" he asked, thinking that the Navigation Elfin would be able to understand what he meant without explanation. 

[Navigation Elfin]: Yes, the upgraded Molecule Monkey won't disappear, unless it's downgraded due to losing its Strength of Faith.

"Are there any side effects?" he asked with concern.

[Navigation Elfin]: There are no side effects.

There was no reason that the Navigation Elfin would lie, Zhang Zian believed it. "Thank you, I have no other questions."

[Navigation Elfin]: Enjoy playing your game!

The light disappeared.

Zhang Zian took a deep breath, and clicked "Yes."

* World Building

World Building is a vast task, and perhaps many new web novel authors stumble over this. Not many are able to create a good and interesting world, which can easily capture the attention of the readers.

A majority of writers rack their brains continuously over how they could make their world 'original' and 'interesting', and many times lose their enthusiasm for writing.


* Importance of World Building

World building is, obviously, important because the readers need to know exactly what kind of world your Protagonist lives in. What kind of environment is it ? Are there any monsters or beasts ? Is it a fantasy world or a Xianxia world ? How is the social structure in the world ? The history ?

Answering these questions one would realize that World building is a huge undertaking and each detail needs to be recorded. If the author forgets a detail it can cause a clash of facts. Such clashes not only make readers confused but also reduce or completely remove immersion, or the worst that can happen is the reader losing confidence in the novel or the author itself.

Following is an example of a Clash of Facts :

In Chapter X the author mentions that the Protagonist has reached the fifth level of Spirit Profound Realm. Later sixty chapters later the author writes that the Protagonist has just reached the first level of Spirit Profound Realm.


* Original content Vs Borrowed content

While writing original content is tedious and brain wreaking, there is a very good short cut to these problems, borrowing content !

Borrowing content means borrowing a pre existing concept. This concept may be from a popular movie, game, drama or myth, etc. Note that the word 'popular' is extremely important. This tactic works on the fact that the readers already are familiar with the concept, which is the reason why the readers can quickly immerse themselves in the novel.


* Disadvantages of Borrowed Content.

The reason we 'borrow' a content is because the readers are already familiar with it. But what if they are not familiar ?

For example, consider a Harry Potter fan fiction, a novel which is based on the Harry Potter series. Neither the author nor the reader has to waste their time in explaining or understanding the setting. The reader knows what to expect : magic spells, evil wizards, a weird school and an even weirder sport.

But if the reader does not know of the series, there is a good probability that the novel may be ignored.


* Solution

The best solution is to introduce the world building setting as if the reader is not familiar with the borrowed concept at all.
One might ask : Then what is the advantage of borrowing a concept if we have to spend words for the reader to familiarize ?

We write in this way because we have to cover both types of readers, those that know and those that don't.

For the readers who have never encountered the concept, they will treat it as just another web novel, and when they learn about the origin of the concept, their interest in it may awaken.

At the same time, for the readers are already know the concept, encountering it again is a moment of pleasure for them. They will anticipate what the Protagonist will do in the world familiar to them.

Such novels have a deeper level of immersion, as many people day dream themselves as the Protagonist whenever they watch a movie or play a game, etc.


* Borrowing the Concept of Clash of Clans

Following is my idea for world building by borrowing the concept from the popular mobile game "Clash of Clans" ---


01. There are two words : the Human world and the Goblin world.

02. The Goblin world has a 'Pillar of Authority', which enables a certain goblin (either a common goblin or a reincarnated person) to have power and rule all other gobllins. Note that this goblin is not the Protagonist but something like the Supreme Antagonist (Final Boss) or the Shadow of the Protagonist (like Sasuke in Naurto).

03. This 'Pillar of Authority' enables the goblins to invade the Human world.
04. The Human world has two pillars :
 (1) the Pillar of Ruling : It enables the Protagonist to have certain powers similar to the game characters of Barbarian, Archer, Wizard, etc. This pillar is a substitute to something like a system.

 (2) the Pillar of Afterlife : This pillar is introduced to explain abilities of game characters like the Witch, Skeletons, etc. The souls are sent and received from here.

05. The game characters will just be abilities in the world, and the abilities will be gender specific – a Barbarian cannot be female while a Witch cannot be male. Creatures like Skeletons, etc do not have genders.

06. The Protagonist will be the 'Village Head', and can have all abilites of the game characters. Thus, the Protagonist can be a Barbarian, Archer, Wizard, Witch, etc. Note that the Protagonist cannot have abilities of Skeleton and the like.

07. The Human world will have ancestors with powerful abilities of Barbarian, Archer, etc. but the present humans will have weakened their abilities (concept of bloodline).

08. As their bloodlines and abilities have weakened, their professions also be changed.

For example,

Barbarian changed to Warrior.

Archer changed to Guider.

Giant changed to Berserker.

Healer changed to Priestess.
Note that these names will be different only because their bloodlines have weakened, and there will be a kingdom (final boss in the human world) that might have retained their bloodline and might have Barbarians, Archers, Wizards, Healers, etc.

09. The Protagonist, using the Pillar of Ruling, can awaken the bloodline of his subordinates. Thus, a Warrior can awaken his bloodline to become a Barbarian.

Note that awakening a low bloodline ability like a Warrior is not easy.

In simple words,

Mortal ? Warrior (normal difficulty) ? Barbarian (high difficulty)

10. To avoid complication, both of the two worlds (the Human world and the Goblin world) will use Gold coins.

11. There will also be bloodline abilities like Builder and the Alchemist. Similar to the game, the Builder will create automatic cannons, traps, barracks, Elixir extractor and collector, etc. The Alchemist will be responsible for upgrading bloodline through Laboratory (leveling up characters like Barbarian, etc.) and creating spells (like Lightning spell, Haste spell, etc.) and creating Black Elixir. The Builders and Alchemists obtain their knowledge from the Pillar of Ruling.

Note that one needs to analyze as there are many concepts in game which has to be properly converted such that they can suit the web novel.

12. The pillars were introduced because it is more realistic instead of a system, and creates a cyclic effect.

The above statement covers two points :
 (1) The concept of a system itself is unrealistic and is centered around the Protagonist. The source of strength of the said Protagonist is mysterious and unexplainable to his fellow natives, and the biggest flaw is that this power cannot be inherited by the natives.

 (2) The cyclic effect means that the Protagonist is not someone special, and that the same plot keeps happening in the world. In this case, there are successors for the Pillar of Ruling and the Pillar of Authority and they gain strength and fight with each other, ending both of their civilization, and the cycle continues… …

13. There might be many kingdoms which would be differentiated according to the legacy they preserved. This legacy is the technology for creating cannons, spells, etc. and the bloodline abilities of their ancestors.

14. The interesting parts of the plot lies in how the Protagonist establishes his village and expands his domain. It will be interesting to read how the Protagonist will have powerful side kicks and establishes something like a royal family and subordinate or branch families or clans.

15. There won't be magic in the two worlds, but the use of Elixirs which would be extracted and drunk or utilized in weapons.

16. The Protagonist may or may not give themselves abilities of a Barbarian King , Archer Queen or Grand Warden. (Personally, I don't think the Protagonist should have this ability.)

17. The creatures in the world will be normal, except that perhaps they would be a little larger in size. This is done because we have to fit additional creatures like 'Dragon' and 'Lightning Dragon'.

Note that we won't be introducing game characters like 'Baby Dragon' (common sense) because, obviously, the Baby Dragon would grow up into a Dragon.

Also, it is not advised to create additional creatures like 'Saber Toothed Tiger', etc. because it may clash with the theme of the world. Both the Human and the Goblin world are similar to our original world.

18. Note that Clash of Clans is a mobile game, and it will have many updates. To convert it into a web novel it is advised to stick to a particular update. For example, if I wrote this novel, then I would stick to the earlier stages of the game, when there were fewer complications and less characters.

19. Objects like cannons and archer towers, etc. can be explained through some technical jargon like formations, etc.

Note that you must never create an 'automatic building' in your novel.

For example,

A barrack in which the Protagonist sends his barbarians to train and they come out five minutes later after consuming elixir.

Things like these are very lethal immersion killers.

20. Gems can also be introduced which can enhance training of soldiers, boost spells or attacking buildings, etc.

The crux of all this is to make the gaming concepts fit the real world.

21. Realize that a story without romance is like a bird without wings. Especially when you are targeting male readers, it is better to make the Protagonist the head of the family, with numerous kids and subordinates respecting him.

22. Do not run away from the 'Harem' word. Instead well balanced female characters balance the story and make it more interesting. Specially for this concept which has game characters like Archer, Healer, Valkyrie and Witch. One can also add the character 'Village Chief Assistant' (the woman that comes at the start of the game). The Village Chief Assistant may have a lesser version of powers than the Protagonist and is a good path for the 'first girl' in a harem.

There are two novels world, one is a Xianxia novel another is a Modern action novel. These two novels actually came from the same team of authors. The problem is when they're trying to write a new season for the Modern action drama called "Top Crime Unit" the main character of this novel is leaping into the Xianxia novel through a mysterious loophole and created another storyline.
Zhang Sol-Dan is "Top Crime Unit" the main character in season fourth of the series, while in the last three seasons she was just a supporting role to other characters including her big sister Zhang Sol-Ra who was the lead role for season two. They're bilingual siblings with Chinese x Korean accent characters. During the former seasons, Zhang sol-Dan character has been favored a lot from the reader that they wanted the writer team to make next season for her as the lead role. To satisfy the reader, the writer team with five peoples decided to make her become the female lead of the fourth season.
Meanwhile, Xia Yu-Xian is the lead role of the Xianxia novel called "Reborn as Immortal Heiress", also from that same writer team. The novel is currently halfway of update and is talking about Xia Yu-Xian journey as she was reborn from betrayal and hatred of people around her and then becoming the Immortal Heiress of the world.
While starting to write the "Top Crime Unit" season fourth with just two chapters, the writer suddenly wakeup and found that their two novels have jumbled together, with Zhang Sol-Dan transmigrated into "Reborn as Immortal Heiress" by having the same appearance as Feng Wei-Xi, the villain of the novel and the biggest enemy of Xia Yu-Xian.
With their story trying to have its own storyline, the writers then stop working and just sit still to watch it goes by itself. Well, they're just enjoying it since it's so dame good! 
What will happen to the innocent Zhang Sol-Dan who was already a novel character that accidentally transmigrated?

‘Wait, WHAT just happened to our NOVELS???’

This scream was from the mouth of a chubby man whose eyes are looking at his computer screen with big horror. 
 ‘This is impossible!!’
‘Were you drunk last night?’
Speaks his teammate.
‘No, I’m not!!’
‘Then, was it because our computer got hack?’

Zhang Sol-Dan: ‘What just happened to me?’
Also Zhang Sol-Dan: ‘My name is Zhang Sol-Dan!!! Why did you guy keep telling me to accept that I am someone else???’

Xia Yu-Xian: ‘How could a person change so much? Wait... don't tell me that she is also reborn? Then what the point of me being reborn again???’

This will tell the story of an ALREADY a novel character who has transmigrated into another novel and the author team who has no idea of what happened to their novels.

Rombongan Hendra dan Aruna telah sampai pada hotel bintang 5 di Nusa dua Bali, salah satu hotel milik keluarga Djoyodiningrat dengan perpaduan interior modern dan etnik Bali. Menawan tapi tetap mempertahankan budaya khas pulau Dewata. Baru saja koper-koper mereka diturunkan oleh berapa petugas hotel yang sigap membantu. Hal pertama yang didapatkan Aruna Hendra serta rombongan mereka adalah kalung bunga yang terangkai sempurna pada leher mereka masing-masing. 
Senyum ramah disuguhkan oleh seseorang yang kabarnya adalah pimpinan hotel tersebut. Dia tahu yang datang ialah CEO mereka. Otomatis pelayanannya pun spesial. Sayangnya keramahan itu tidak sebanding dengan apa yang ditunjukkan Hendra. Sepertinya Hendra memang benar-benar memiliki peringai agak berbeda ketika berinteraksi dengan orang lain selain dalam lingkaran istri mungilnya. Padahal tiap petugas yang sengaja berdiri di depannya menyapa dengan cara paling ramah versi mereka, baik itu manajer maupun Helper yang mengiringi rombongan dalam percakapan ringan melewati pintu utama menuju lobby hotel.

 Seorang perempuan dengan tinggi proporsional dan tubuh langsing memikat sangat serasi dengan padu padan midi dress lengan pendek, sepatu high heels dan tas Chanel Classic Flap Bag model edisi terbatas, dengan aksesorisnya yang serba hitam. 
Menyibukan diri, mengisi waktunya dengan membaca penjelasan singkat tentang pulau Dewata yang tergeletak di lobby hotel bintang 5.
Bergegas meletakkan  bacaan yang dia pegang, menyadari seseorang yang ditunggu-tunggu telah datang. Pria bermata biru dengan postur tubuh tinggi tegap berbalut ekspresi juteknya yang menawan.
 "Hendraaa....". secara mengejutkan perempuan berlari penuh semangat langsung menghambur memeluk tubuh Hendra. Hendra serta merta tidak bisa mengelak apa yang ia dapati secara mendadak. 
Perempuan dengan tinggi proporsional dan tubuh langsing. fashionable, luar biasa memukau seperti artis ibu kota. Perempuan itu mendongak menunjukkan dirinya sambil masih memeluk tubuh Hendra dari depan, dia tersenyum terlampau manis. 
Siapa lagi kalau bukan Tania. 
"Tania?? Kau ada di Bali?". Tanya Hendra pada perempuan yang enggan melepas pelukan erat. 
"hei menyingkir kau..". Surya mendorong Tania supaya sadar apa yang dia lakukan terlalu berlebih. 
"Kau jahat pada ku tidak mencari ku sama sekali". Keluh perempuan cantik Tania. Mengabaikan cara Surya berusaha melepas ikatan tangannya.
"Bagaimana kau tahu aku ada di sini?". Tanya Hendra,  menduga Tania sudah menunggu dirinya sebelum mereka sampai di hotel ini. Terlihat dari caranya menyambut sesaat sebelum berlari tadi. Duduk termenung membaca buku bacaan di salah satu sofa lobi hotel bintang lima.
"Rahasia, ada deh pokoknya". Suara Tania memang selalu menyenangkan di dengar begitu juga cara bicaranya. 
Di sisi lain seorang ajudan menarik koper yang diabaikan tuannya dan tertangkap membantu nona mereka yang perlahan meninggalkan dua orang sedang bercakap cakap. 
"Apa kau tinggal di Bali? jangan-jangan kau memang disembunyikan oleh kakek ku di hotel ini?". Hendra penasaran mencari tahu.
"aku memang tinggal di Bali setelah diizinkan kembali ke tanah air oleh kakek mu. Waktu disembunyikan kakek mu aku memang tidak di Indonesia. tapi setelah prosesi pernikahan mu usai, kakek mu mengizinkan ku pulang". Jelasnya panjang lebar penuh senyum bahagia.
"Mengapa kau tidak muncul di Jakarta?". Tanya Hendra berusaha melepas jeratan tangannya, seiring mata biru menangkap punggung mungil yang perlahan menjauh.

"Hai.. lepaskan dulu Tania, nanti kita ngobrol lagi. Kau menginap di sini?". Tanya Hendra kepada perempuan yang akhirnya berkenan melepas jeratannya.
"sudah, Aku bahkan sudah dua hari yang lalu di sini sambil menunggu mu". Seru Tania.
"Ya ya ya.. nanti kita ngobrol lagi biar aku melihat kamar ku dulu". Pinta lelaki bermata biru.
"Jangan lama-lama ya.. ngomong-ngomong nomor kamar mu berapa?". Tania masih mengikuti langkah kaki Hendra. Langkah kaki dan punggung pria ini adalah makanannya sehari-hari sejak pertama kali mereka bertemu.
"Aku pun juga tak tahu, makanya aku harus segera bergabung dengan rombongan ku". 
"Oh iya". Hendra seolah berhenti menghadang Tania lalu berdiri di depan artis drama series. 
"Ingat aku ke sini untuk honeymoon.. maka dari itu jangan sering-sering mengganggu". Hendra memberikan peringatan seraya mendapat balasan mulut cemberut.
"honeymoon?? Kayaknya kamu sedang berlibur bersama deh!". Sela Tania. 
"Ah.. ungkapan mu tak salah juga sih". Sahabat lama itu bicara dengan nada santai seperti biasa. Tania memang perempuan satu-satunya yang berada di dunia Mahendra. Seperti kucing peliharaan melilit pemiliknya tiap saat. Cucu Wiryo sudah lelah menyingkirkannya sejak SMA. 
"pokoknya nanti kita makan bareng kayak biasanya". Pinta Tania terang-terangan tanpa rasa malu. 
"Tak bisa, aku sudah menikah. Jadi aku harus makan bersama istriku". Si pria melanjutkan langkah kakinya dibuntuti perempuan cantik mengelilinginya.
"Kok gitu sih! Jangan jahat sama aku. Ingat kau yang sudah menghancurkan karir ku. Sekarang kamu harus tanggung jawab". Celetuk Tania. 
"Ah benar juga, berapa aku harus memberi mu kompensasi?. Tas branded favorit mu cukup?". Perempuan ini sudah terbiasa mendapatkan barang-barang keinginannya dari CEO DM Grup. 
"kali ini kompensasinya berbeda, aku nggak mau tas, sepatu atau baju". Suara Tania diusahakan setegas-tegasnya.
"Ah yang benar??". Hendra menyentilnya, terlampau paham kesukaan Tania. Yang marahnya terluluhkan dengan cara yang sama bertahun-tahun.
"Mau banget sih.. tapi kali ini aku pengennya waktu mu dari pada benda-benda itu".
Wajah Hendra menunjukkan goresan tidak setuju dengan ungkapan Tania.
"aku sudah mengalami banyak masalah sulit gara-gara kelakuan mu". Tania konsisten cemberut.
"sudah kembalilah ke tempat mu". Gelisah Hendra makin dekat dengan kamarnya. 
"eemm... Nggak mau!". Tania konsisten membuntuti Hendra seperti hari-harinya dulu.
"Ya sudah terserah kau saja". Dan Hendra dengan enteng mengabaikan perempuan itu, perilaku wajar bagi Tania. Hendra memang selalu begitu sejak pertama mereka bertemu.

Pria bermata biru akhirnya bisa terbebas dari lilitan perempuan satu-satunya yang hadir dari kehidupan masa lalu sebelum memiliki istri mungil yang kini tertangkap sibuk menata benda-benda pada kamar sementara mereka. Berada dalam satu kamar merupakan hasil perjuangan panjang, setelah merayunya habis-habisan. 
"Enaknya kita ngapain setelah ini". mata biru menangkap punggung istrinya dari belakang mengabaikan kesibukan si mungil, dia terkejut dan menjatuhkan benda yang dipegang. 
"kak Tania datang juga, syukurlah Aku makin lega dan tenang. Sekarang aku mau mandi lepaskan tangan mu!". Aruna berusaha merenggangkan tangan Mahendra. 
"Bisakah kau cemburu pada ku sedikit saja, setelah aku dipeluk perempuan lain tadi?". Celetuk Hendra merasa terabaikan, setelah gadis itu hanya merenggangkan tangannya meraih handuk dan melangkah pergi ke kamar mandi.
"Buat apa? Dia kan teman lama mu. Kekasih mu pun juga nggak papa.  Yang pasti, aku bukan perempuan posesif yang suka membelenggu pasangan pernikahan kontrak hingga dia tak sanggup bernafas". Suara Aruna seiring dengan langkah kakinya mendekati pintu kamar mandi, Hendra dibuat jengkel dengan kata-katanya karena gadis itu sedang menyentil dirinya.
Pria itu buru-buru berdiri mendorong tubuh mungil secepat dia bisa, memasuk kamar mandi bersama. Segera ia rengkuh tubuh Arunai hingga berada dalam gendongannya lalu dengan sengaja dimasukkan ke dalam bathtub berisi air. 
"Ah.. basah!". Protes Aruna, yang terkejut bukan main. Lebih terkejut lagi melihat si tinggi besar melepas kaosnya. 
"Mau apa kau?". Aruna protes sigap berdiri ingin segera pergi. Nyatanya si kekar meraih perutnya. Memintanya berendam bersama setelah dia hanya menyisakan boxer, sedangkan gadis itu lengkap dengan baju yang dia kenakan. 
"Aku juga mau mandi, mandi sama kamu kayak kemarin". Sang pria melilit erat tubuh perempuan bergerak-gerak ingin pergi. Perlahan dia membuat kecupan di bahu, lalu menyusup ke leher belakang. 
Bathroom tersebut mengarah langsung ke laut, senja tertangkap sempurna di mata gadis yang sedang menerawang jauh melihat panorama di luar jendela. Seiring langkah berani prianya membuka resleting gaun yang menjuntai indah membungkus perempuannya. Mata biru mulai membuat gigitan dibelakang sana. 
_Mungkinkah ini senja terakhir kita_ gumamnya membiarkan laki-laki itu sekali lagi menggigit punggungnya.

Lance keep showing off his new transformation to Ace and Luffy and later three of them decide to pull a prank on Dadan's family. Ace and Luffy ride on Lance wyvern form then fly away around Mt. Colubo until dawn.

"We will set sail in 10 days, tomorrow i will find some strong wood and material for building our ship, you two take this" Ramus said and gave Sam and Lance a piece of paper.

"That was the list of item i need for my alchemy research, some machines and various tool and needs for our ship, as for ransom and other thing i leave it to both of you, just buy anything you saw fit, take  25 million for shopping our need and take out 5 million each for you guys needs" Ramus said.

Next day.
Ramus was begin searching some wood material for his ships while Sam and Lance followed by Ace and Luffy go to the town center and shopping. Ramus uses his devil fruit abilities and fly away toward the Highway Forest with staggering speed. Soon Ramus landing in front of thin and tall trees that covered with some kind of small spike.

"Just like i remember there are some bronze needle trees around here, this should be good material for my pirates ship until i find better material like treasure tree adam and do big modifications " Ramus murmured.

Soon Ramus cut down several bronze needle easily with his devil fruit power and he fly back with those trees, he have to back and fort several time to get different trees for different part of the ship. When Sam and others were back from their shopping, both of them were shocked to seeing the surrounding near the wooden house. Ramus have clear the bush, trees and rock nearby their the wooden house to make a big field for his ship making process and he compile various proceeds wood with different shape and size on the field while Ramus himself skillfully do various work with very fast speed.


After Ace and Luffy found out that Ramus and his crew will depart in 10 days, they decide to stay with them until they depart. Dadan and his family's also come to visit Ramus and others, then they also decide to stay there helping Ramus building his ship. Dadan and his family always like Ramus because Ramus is very kind to them and he usually gave some food and money to them for Ace and Luffy life cost. Makino and Mayor Woop Slap is also come to visit several times.

Because of Ramus very high shipwrights skill and help from others, in just 8 days the ship was done. Ramus create a ship that have size two times bigger than Galleon. Ramus designing the ship base on type of ship called Ice Breaker from online game World Of Warcraft from his previous world that he often plays but the ship have several differences from the original ones, like instead of steam energy paddlewheel on the back of the ship, Ramus ship have a giant propeller with several small fan propeller that pointing to different direction. It also have 2 wing with propeller in the back of the wing its have shape like a fin on both side, it have two mast with weird shape helicopter pole on the top. It already have black jolly rogers, it has red colored skull with 15 red spiraling pattern that he take from airbender logo from avatar series from his previous world that circling around the red skull. 

The ship have Captain big exquisite cabin that have large love shaped bed that enough for 5 people with its own bathroom and private lab, treasury room, large meeting room, kitchen with large dining room, the helms cabin, a large storage, large men room , woman room, a clinic cabin, laboratory and weaponry room and 2 separate bathroom, and entertaining room. On the front of the ship bow it's have Similar falcon head like the original Ice Breaker. The ship has red, white and black as dominant color. weirdly there a weird shape big sound system near the deck wall with small stage complete with music equipment.

Lot of people were gathering near the newly build ship.

"Woohhhhooo" Luffy shouted then running around the sip, Ace also join him and feel awe. Sam and Lance were very excited, Dadan and his families also celebrating.

"You want to go tomorrow?" Ask Mayor Woop Slap.

"Yes, the ship ready so me too..haha" Ramus laugh.

"What is the name of this ship" Ask Mayor Woop Slap.

"Storm Breaker" Ramus replied.

"Such a beautiful ship, why you waste your talent to became a criminal Ramus" Said Mayor Woop Slap.

"It's about a dream Mayor and i told you several times that i will never be bad or criminal pirates, instead i will help people around the sea and take down those evil pirates and corrupt marines" Said Ramus.

"Just believe in Ramus mayor" Said Makino while with warm smile.

"Hahaha..hear that mayor, just trust me" Said Ramus.

"Do what you want kid just don't hurt yourself" Said Mayor Wood Slap.

"The sky will gone dark in several minutes..but it's my last night before we departing tomorrow morning..i don't know when i can comeback here again so lets have a party hahaha" Said Ramus happily.

"Aye master" Said Sam and Lance.

"Yeah let's do it Ramus boy" Said Dadan.

"Okay Sam, Lance, Ace, Luffy, Dogra and Magra you guys go to the town and buy every food and drink that you guys can buy, Dadan and the rest stay here and help the preparation, i will go to the village with makino to invite the villager, and mayor you can wait at my house while waiting for the party hahahaha"

"YES SIR!!" Soon everybody started do their own task and after 2 hours the party is ready and started, almost everyone from the villages was come. 

The usually calm Ramus is gone wild today. During his time in Mt. Colubo, Ramus rarely use his wind abilities although he have eaten the wind devil fruit, he rarely show it in front of Sam, Lance, Ace and Luffy but this time he showing off his abilities and flying in the sky he use his wind to forcefully shifted the mass cloud around the Mt. Colubo and make the sky clear with many star and bright moon. All the people present is shocked especially the villager they never know or hear that human can fly and shift the cloud like child play. The scene was very beautiful even Dadan and his families was dazed to saw the beautiful sky and star river.

"Bzz..check..check..1..2..3..Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to our farewell party and thank you to you all who participated to help us building our dream ship" Said Ramus using ship sound system mic suddenly appear on the ship stage with Sam and Lance.

"We will gave you all our farewell song, enjoy.." Said Ramus and immediately Ramus pick a guitar, Sam on keyboard and Lance at drums

"Sam, Lance lets do like we practice haha" Said Ramus.

"Jreng jreng jreng..🎶" Ramus started to sing while playing his guitar, the sound started to spread to all different direction.

"Feeling my way through the darkness
Guided by a beating heart
I can't tell where the journey will end
But I know where to start 🎶 

They tell me I'm too young to understand
They say I'm caught up in a dream
Well life will pass me by if I don't open up my eyes

And I didn't know I was lost" The music rhythm gone more fast and beats while Sam and Lance started to enjoy their own instruments and people began to cheering, clapping and dance happily lulled by the song and the rhythm 🎶

The party is lasted for several hours, after the party was over, Makino and Mayor is going back home with other villagers, but not few of them sleep there drunken with Dadan and his families. The usual silent and peaceful night of Mt. Colubo forest now is filled with loud snores. Ramus can't even sleep so he decided to preparing his equipment, when he walk around, Ace was wake up and following him.

"You should sleep Ace"

"Nah..im okay..i can't sleep anymore those guys snores is to loud"

"Hahaha..why you look so sad Ace..wanna join my crew?"

"No way, i will make my own group and make all people on the world know who am i"

"That was good..but you should remember Ace, you are not alone, you have your brother, your gramps, Dadan and his families, Makino, Mayor, Me, Sam and Lance although we not related by blood and sit besides you, we will always be part of your life and made who you are today, the memories is still there...the good..the bad..and no matter where we go or how how far we are stand we will always connected by the bonds, we will always support you and become your home in your heart even when we are gone from this world, so don't let us down just live your life to the fullest and don't go overboard is enough for us" Ramus said then Ace started to cry and Ramus tap his head.


"Your father is amazing guy, don't just because you never meet him and hear about him from other people then make you judges him poorly, make all those bad word about your father, a motivation for you to become better man than your father"

"I will.." Said crying Ace.

"Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth." —Conan Doyle. A quote that seems to be the crux behind solving anything with a hint of mystery.

Mysteries can be compared to puzzles. However, the supposed 'pieces' of this puzzle a sentient and emotional people who are not willing to just stand around unless confined by a specific reason to do so.

Even in detective games, the criminal is always trying to hide the evidence, which in turn leads to the slipping up and accidentally revealing their true identity. The whole 'detective vs criminal' shtick is popular in the wake of Sherlock Holmes, despite it not being the only way to write a mystery narrative.

The essential part to be aware of when writing a mystery isn't what information you share with the reader but the 'legitimacy' of that information. If it came from a suspect, then it is natural to assume the information to be false. Contrarily, if it was to come from someone the 'detective' trying to solve the mystery trusts, then the reader would take is as fact.

However, just because I say that doesn't mean that trusted people should always be believed and suspects should be ignored. After all, the beginning of any mystery always makes sure that no one is safe from being seen as 'suspicious', even friends.

In this context, you could say that until proven otherwise, there is no possible way for anyone to be trusted. I find this kind of setup to be a little too simple to work with since there are no stakes for the main character or even drama caused by suspicion.

On a related topic, one of my favourite Light Novel Author by the name of Nishio Isin is a master at creating intrigue through subtlety. In his most widely known works of the Monogatori Series, even the main character can be considered the 'culprit' sometimes in the mysteries he's trying to unravel.

The enjoyment I get from reading his works has nothing to do with the mysteries themselves, but rather the way they are presented. He never makes it so any of his characters encounter a mystery that they are not 'involved' with in some way.

For example: The mystery could be about the death of a pop star they admired, thus allowing for subtle characterisation as they work through the mystery using their own 'perspective' of what should be considered the most important clue in the mystery.

If that person is not a airhead but is more of a regular salaryman, then his deductions will be flawed or maybe even too simplistic. However, as a writer who seems obsessed about 'geniuses', there is always one particular person with a high IQ that can put the pieces together in a more convincing way.

This isn't just me gushing about my favourite author though. As I am clearly aware that his style of writing is less suited for thriller-type mysteries and instead focuses on the more 'personal' aspects of it. 

A person may find a clue because they can see it from the perspective of a gamer or maybe they'd see it through the lens of a storyteller if they are more of a bookworm. They are deeply personal, but these kinds of mysteries don't have any 'thrilling' aspects that arises from knowledge that time is ticking.

To insert these kinds of moments of tension, there are two requirements that need to be fulfilled for it to work. The first is something the protagonist could potentially 'lose' if he doesn't get something right while the second being properly paced events.

When a scene drags out, tension is built from the answer being found being so close yet still not leaving the tip of the author's tongue. An important moment is dragged with an air of suspense as the reader desperately wishes that the answer they received isn't something that will lead to a more tragic outcome. It is easy to point fingers at people you don't have feelings for, but what is a 'detective' supposed to do when the culprit is a friend?

No one is a logic machine that will choose the prim and proper approach to dealing with such a situation. If the answer that came from eliminating the possibilities is something they can't internally accept, then how would they respond?

It is both a test of character as well as their ability to not be sentimental when determining the cause for an event. Those who link mysteries with the supernatural also have fun with this situation as well. For example: What if the culprit was possessed? Or maybe even blackmailed into it?

This leads to deeper questions than who is the culprit or not and tackles the heart of morality in a cruel way, by forcing the main character to come up with a reply to those questions difficult to answer.

As you can tell, I am very fond of mysteries despite not having dabbled in it myself. As there are many possibilities that can be uncovered from just a simple interaction or maybe even something in the background. There is one more thing I'd like to talk about that has to do with the MC of a mystery.

Let's say the one trying to unravel the mystery isn't Sherlock Holmes one is a person with a exceedingly high IQ. In this situation, how is the main character supposed to figure out a mystery even those around him are unable to solve? The answer to this question is two things: Having help from someone with knowledge but not the perspective needed to put all the clues together in a convincing manner, or making it so the mystery is related to him deeply.

For example: Let's say the culprit is actually the main character's sister. It is of course more easier for him to gain more clues if that's the case since he would have more chances to find evidence on her than anybody else through knowing her intimately.

Finding a way to balance the simplistic aspects of a mystery along with the complexity of events that lead to it becoming a mystery at all in the first place is key. You can't dump great amounts of irrelevant information and expect the reader to be invested into kicking out the 'irrelevant' information in order to find that one answer everyone is looking for.

What a good mystery entails is that the seemingly irrelevant bits of information are put together in ways even the reader should be able to figure out by themselves. Some information can be used as alibis to narrow down the culprit while seemingly unimportant events could increase the suspicion on the person who is truly the culprit in the mystery.

This is a story I worked on ages ago that has been refined and edited by adding foreshadowing to events while also simplifying the power system better than before. This story can be considered a prequel to An Adventure Beyond Greatness as it takes place years prior to the events of that story.

Short Synopsis:
After retiring from the battlefield, my life became empty and lifeless. The regrets of my past haunt me in my sleep. Then a change occurred, a King from another world summoned me to fight for his kingdom, but I died even before I could give him my answer. Now, after a fake God allowed me to reincarnate (albeit imperfectly) with my memories intact, into a world filled with magic and swords.

Long Synopsis:
This is about a flawed protagonist who only knew to rely on others and not socialise who gets a second chance to change himself in order to live the life he aimed for in his past life. The narrator isn’t exactly trustworthy since it is purely in his bias perspective while other perspectives given by others fill in the blanks that he either leaves out or twists to suit the situation.

The story itself can be considered a parody of Isekai’s classic tropes which are given a sense of reality as time goes by. As there exists no ‘Demon Lord’, there is also no black and white, only characters opinions and counter-opinions throughout the story.

Graceful and harmonious, like she consumes the whole presence of all scene. It's like she is the main protagonist of the novel of my life…
I wanna confess to that girl, that's why I called her over , certainly some high school student was about to have his day on school, a guy wanting a girl to talk about something important at the end of the school in a romance can only mean something… That one is Sato Ryoichi, whom is waiting a girl called Izumi Yoko.
There she is, coming closer to him, stealing the presence of the whole scene, and making the guy that draws the landscapes to the anime think his job is useless!
"You wanted to talk to me about something…", she said.
It's time. It's time. It's time!, he thought, getting more and more nervous, certainly the climax of a romance was about to hit the reader.
"Yes.", he said, very nervous.
"So?", she said, in a pure and calm voice.
Oh my god her voice, her voice is so cute, it's like she is killing me with moe, she for sure is my top waifu, wait she is not in an anime…, he thought, getting more and more confused.
"Well, it's not actually a big deal…",  he said.

Yumiko laughed out loud.

"You… a date?", she said, still laughing.
"What?", he was still clueless about the reason why his sister was laughing, as she was implying that his brother couldn't get any girl to like him.
"So how did that happened. Was it in a batsu game?", she asked.
"No… I asked her out and we are dating.", he said.
"Didn't you got the wrong idea or something? Are you lying to me?", she asked.
"No… Why is it that you are stuck to the idea that I can't get a girlfriend.", he said.
"Well, good luck.", she said, letting the knife on the table, and getting closer to him.
"Brother!", she said, getting his necktie from the uniform and making pushing him.
"Stop it, I'm not into incest!", he said.
"Huh? Do it seems like I would like you? Just because you got a girlfriend now doesn't mean that you will get all girls to love you.", she said.
"Sorry.", he said.
"Pervert!", she said, making her way to her room.
Hum, I wonder if she was being tsundere or was she truly mad at me. Either way I won't accept if she declares her love to me! Now I have a girlfriend, and also incest isn't wincest, in my opinion!, he thought. 
Has he went to his room to get changed and have a bath, his phone rang. 
It's her! Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. I am going to have a heart attack! AH! I'm not ready for this. Wait keep calm. Think of something relaxing. Oh yes the sea. So this is it. The date that this young boy was in pursuit is whole school life was going to finally happen tomorrow. Only thinking about it made him have goose bumps. 
He was on the bath. Thinking, like a boy in love.
I wonder, is everything going to be okay tomorrow. I never actually went out on a date with a girl…, he thought, then a series of images of him being forced to go out with his sister went through his head. Well I actually did. But it's my sis. Not like she would be the type of girl I would date, he thought. Then, he heard steps coming from the room that linked to the bathroom, where they usually change their clothes. Uh, Oh. Problems, he thought. Well, it's her fault she didn't ask if anyone was in here, he thought.
The door opens. There she was just in her bath towel with nothing under it. She realizes what is going on and was about to unleash hell within. 
"Hang on!", he said, to do some sort of speech.
"We might be turning into a random cliché in some light novel."
"So instead of denying that I saw anything and you hitting me for no reason."
"I will tell u directly. I saw everything."
"That way we are reformulating the cliché.", he said.
"And making a revolution in the market!"
"What are you talking about!", she said, pushing him by the ear.
"Look out I am naked!", he said.
"Who cares!", she said, punching him.
"Pervert!"
Life isn't fair… I was honest. I didn't lie. I didn't was the Main Character of some random romantic comedy. And still… I got hit for being a pervert or some random excuse she made. Life isn't fair, he thought.
He went to bed. He struggled to sleep, has predicted, because of what was going to happen in the next day. Still in shock about the contrast of Izumi Yoko's contrast of personalities, he seemed like a child finding out the harsh truths of the world.
