Soldiers came running into the Meeting room in two rows through the door, in the Middle walked a man with a mask covering half his face, 

''Good day Gentlemen, sorry for the wait...'' I entered the room with big strides, my hands behind my back and my footsteps sounding through the large room.

''President Kyle!'' The people in the room stood up but quickly sat down due to the pressure I exerted on them. 

Sweat started to drip from their heads, the only exception being Stalin. After I sat down a horde of Journalists and people from the press came rushing into the room. The other Delegations were baffled by the development, 

''Silence!'' The 20 soldiers that entered the room together with me shouted in unison.

I stood at my place as head of the Council of Nations my face full of confidence my posture showing that I will not back down, ''Gentleman! The British people have gone too far!'' I said to the press while throwing a stack of documents and pictures at their feet,

The people quickly opened they documents and looked at the pictures, but some people with weak stomachs couldn't handle what was shown, making them run out of the room looking for a bathroom, 

''10 Million people! 10 Million people the British have killed under their colonial rule!'' My voice echoed through the room as I made the statement,

''I wish to have been able to give justice with words but... You can't shake hands with a clenched fist! The British are an utter DISGRACE to our humanity!'' I bellowed angrily, 

I walked around the table towards the press, ''If there must be war let it be in my day, so that my child may have peace!'' I shouted with determination,

''I have nothing to say, nothing to offer, but sweat, blood and tears for my people, for peace! Because, True peace is not merely the absence of tension: it is the presence of justice, so long as the British bring upon injustice THERE SHALL BE NO PEACE!'' I shouted this statement throughout the room, a statement that shall spread far and wide, 

I stood still, looking through the window overseeing the Alps, my back turned towards the Delegations. I took a deep breath before turning around ''My country! My people! We shall fight for this injustice, we shall make the British pay for every life they took! Heed my words, we shall battle them to the end! Who is with me!'' 

Immediately afterwards 2 massive Zeppelins appeared in front of the Council of Nation's HQ, jet aeroplanes flew in arrow formations past the large window of the meeting room, Red Skulls paradrop from the Zeppelins securing the compound. ''BEHOLD, THE HMS EUROPA!'' I shouted immediately the 2 ships fired a salute for the Marshall displaying their massive battle capabilities. 

The equipment and power shown just now were to impress everyone to know they were ready. 
Stalin stood up from his chair and spoke with a very thick accent, ''We stand with our comrades, we are all part of the Council of Nations, The Russian people will protect their brethren! LET US FIGHT!''

The other Delegations also quickly stood up and pledged their allegiance, declarations of war were immediately drafted by the countries, a new quote was immediately written upon every country's military pledge: 'United we stand, divided we fall.' 

After all formalities and all the drafting did I finally relax, this entire presentation took a heavy toll upon me mentally, dishes and drinks were quickly pushed into the room with carts and placed in front of each Delegation.

''ЗАРЯД!(CHARGE!)'' A Russian commander issued his commands to his army, ordering them to move towards the battlefront.

Tanks, Trucks, Planes, Men and Boys! All moved towards the Fronts, A united high command in the Swiss Motherbase was quickly established. Armies united on their way to the Western Front, Russian Planes started their bombing runs on the Russio-Japanese Border, Tanks advanced over the plains of Manchuria, all soldiers had solemn looks on their faces even though their Moral was at an all-time high! The war has officially started, 

As a News Station in America broadcasted; ''As of Today, 17:00 GMT time the President of Switzerland has declared this war the Second world war! Nations all over the world mobilize their armies as the first skirmishes to take place on the western front. Will America Join? Pick a side? Tomorrow Congress will debate this topic. God Bless Us All!'' The Reported finished his speech. 

''FIRE!'' The Royal British Navy fired upon the German-Russian combined fleet as they engage in the Baltic sea, navy battles were unfolding everywhere as the countries were technically already at war. The world unfolds more and more in a state of total chaos, this month that will be known in the future as Bloody March, where each day almost 10,000 men lose their lives. 

Airforces were mobilized and moved towards forwarding operating airbases, intelligence was quickly shared, Diplomats and embassies were all prepared and started to persuade other countries to join their war effort. 

In 3 days time, all Country leaders and their respective Generals will meet at the High Command in Switzerland, with an unexpected twist...

I hope people are enjoying my book so far, war has escalated and will quickly engulf the entire globe in a total war! The war will be broken up into Months, the war has started in March 1938, each Month will have a minimum of one important event, such events can range from:
-Major Land Battle, Air Battle or Sea Battle
-It can have infiltration battles, missions carried out by the secret police and Black hands.
-Beach landings and Paradropping.
-Resistance battles, sabotage, Convoy raids, assassinations, etc
-Rebellions and back-stabbing
-And many more
Of course, many more can take place in one month. Some battles will have an indirect or direct impact on a future battlefield, such that my readers can start connecting certain dots together. Intricate battles such as the destruction of Obj. 289 (Operation Dust Angel) will not be that many, once or twice per year period. I have not decided, currently, there are already 4 planned. 
Lastly, the Alliance map and Battle maps will be updated every 6 Months or if a very important event happened. 

I hope my readers can give me feedback on the Battlemaps and if you find them detailed enough and of my readers like the idea of witnessing the many types of battles and how it progresses

                 CHAPTER THREE 


It's the first time in almost my entire life that someone got my interest but what I got in return, A SLAP. I mean seriously? I was in a big shock, I didn't face this much insult in my whole life.

I was feeling so humiliated in front of so many people that's why, I was about to punished her dreadfully, so that she will actually remember my face for the rest of her life and that who I am and what I can do? But Roman held my wrist tightly; came near to my ear and whisper, "everyone's watching, just let her go or else there would be a big scandal and you actually know what I mean."

But before let her arm go, I squeezed it badly, that it turned white, I can see the pain in her eyes, this pain was nothing in front of my insult, so that moment I promised to myself to take my revenge soon, and made my way towards the exit.

Roman also followed me. After exit the club, I came near to my car, open the door, put my ass on the comfortable seat and started the car. The drive was the silent one.

Until Roman broke that silence,"Look I know you are angry, and will gonna take your revenge soon or later, but I just hope you will not do anything stupid."

I said nothing in return so, Roman again opened his annoying mouth,"William your number of enemies are much greater than your friends, and if they found out anything about today's incident then they will gonna made a huge scandle of this little thing."

I suddenly stopped the car, and yelled,"Little thing, huh? Little thing? Do You Consider, The SLAP On My Face As A Little Thing? Roman I swear, I'll gonna kill that god damn bi**h."

Roman stayed quiet at my sudden reaction so, as a result, we spend the rest of the ride in complete silence.

Jennifer Pov.

When he was gone, I looked at my arm, it was swoolen which caused a lot of pain, that bastard squeezed it really hard. Vic rubbed it gently by saying,"let's go. It's enough for today." I nodded and followed her towards the exit.

I was undoubtedly angry at Ciala, it was all her fault. If she hadn't been intoxicated, she would not have given him a kiss and put her butt on his lap, nor would I have to stopped her or slap that son of a bi***h for harassing me.

When I got home I called Caila but she didn't pick me up. Which made me even more irritated so I threw my phone on the bed in anger and went towards the bathroom, so that I could fresh my mind by taking cold shower.

William Pov.

Many days have past in a blink of an eye. I was looking out of my office window, thinking of a bit**h, that who is she and how I got slapped by her it. I was thinking of a way to get my revenge.

When I was in my deep thoughts, I got a call from Roman, which I picked and I don't know why but for some reason he seemed panic no, not panic may be like, how to start a topic?

I thought, he was confused, like how to start a topic, so I said,"what happened Roman? Just tell me already." and at that he opened his mouth by saying,"Where are you?"

"In my office." I told him.

"Did you saw the news?"

"which news"? I questioned.

For some seconds he remained quite, I can hear his panic breath, so I asked again, "Which news, Roman?"

"Just watch by yourself." he said and cut the call. I put my phone back on my pocket and walked towards my laptop. When I saw the news I lost my control, I became angry, frustrated.

The news was about me, that how I got slap from a common girl. Video was viral all over the YouTube and the part where I got slapped was the highlighted one. What the fuck is this?

I was frustrated,who dared to go against me? I was completely confused so, I dialed Roman's phone number, when he picked up I said,"we have to do something about this shit or otherwise, my father will gonna dig me alive."

"There's only one way, William." roman said, "Anything, I'm ready to do anything to end this bull**it, I just can't let anyone waste my years of hard work."

"Tell me what I have to do?" I asked Roman.

At first, he remained silent then told me, "you have to attend a press conference; have to admit that the girl is your fiance and that it was just a small misunderstanding that's why she slapped you but now it's all settled."

"What the hell are you talking about, are you out of your damn mind?" I was shouting on the phone.

"That's the only way William, you have to find that girl and then have to solve this matter otherwise its up to you but I hope that you know the consequences of not solving this matter as fast as possible."

At this I hung up the call. I was in rage but then smiled, well actually it's not even really bad idea William, you can kill two birds with one stone.

First you can get your revenge by making her your wife or should I say your maid or your live toy. Secondly, this problem will also be solved as well. Yeah that's actually a pretty good idea. I was thinking in my mind.

So, I called my secretary and told her to gather all information about the girl. She nodded and took her leave. Now it's gonna be a real fun, I told myself with a smirk on my face.

Chapter 1

A/N: Well here's my newest story. This isn't tied to any of my other stories, it's completely stand alone. That said, I hope both my normal readers and any new readers really enjoy it.

I sat staring at the computer even as the credits for the final episode of Jessica Jones rolled across the screen. Hot damn, Netflix was on fire with these Original Marvel series. First Daredevil drew me in with it's amazing cast of villains, and now this one had me binge watching seven episodes at once just to finish the season. Looking at the time I sigh when I find that it's almost six a.m. I mean, I usually don't wake up until around twelve anyways, but it's still a bit much.
My mind is pretty fried as I go through the motions of shutting down Netflix and putting my computer to sleep. I get out of my chair and take a few gulps of water to cure the parched feeling in my throat. Then I take a piss before crawling into bed. I probably won't get to sleep until seven at this point, so many things swirling around my head.
At the forefront is the main villain of the show I just got done watching. Kilgrave and his mind control. I've always been more interested in the villains of most of the fiction I partake in. Even Kilgrave with his incredibly harsh disregard for literally everyone around him, was a bit closer to my moral compass than Jessica or Trish.
Not to say I'd go around telling people to jump off buildings or throw hot coffee in their eyes, or go out of my way to turn an aspiring social worker into a druggie just so he'll take voyeuristic pictures of a girl for me day in and day out. Kilgrave regularly took things too far, but I could understand why given his childhood. I didn't have that excuse, and despite being a selfish prick, I still had some compassion.
Still, mind control would be fun. Even if it only started at 12 hours, I could just find Kilgrave's parents with my foreknowledge and force them to enhance me. I might even get to the point where I could control Jessica again, unlike the actual Kilgrave who failed in the show. That was unfortunate. I'd have to check tomorrow morning and see if there were any good fanfics out yet that had Kilgrave winning and gaining control again.

Ah who am I kidding, why wait? Grabbing my phone off its charger I twist onto my side and bring up google, carefully typing in 'Kilgrave Fanfiction'.
Yep, as I'd hoped, there's a small collection of stories on Archiveofourown marked with the 'Jessica Jones/Kilgrave' pairing.
Well now, I'm probably not going to get any sleep tonight. A slight smile on my face, I pick the first one with a promising summary and begin reading. Hours later I pass out with my phone slipping out of my hand, still shining brightly in the darkness of my room. My last conscious thought is that I would make a much better Kilgrave than the man himself was.

I wake up slowly, and I've never felt more uncomfortable. The surface I'm laid out on is harder than my bed ever has been and I can tell something is instantly wrong. For starters, I've slept on my side for most of my life and my head has always been elevated. Yet, when I wake up now I'm on my back and there's nothing supporting my head.
With a groan, I sit up only to immediately grow nauseated and confused. My body doesn't feel right and it makes my head swim as I try to get oriented. I'm lighter and taller and even my hair feels odd atop my head. I bring a hand with fingers that are too long to my midsection, only to find my fat gut is gone, replaced by a smooth skinny stomach.
Dressed in some sort of suit but stripped of socks and shoes, I swing my legs off of the metal slab I'd woken up on only to find the floor below me covered in several inches of water. I'm in some sort of cell, and even in my tired bleary state I feel like I should recognize this. Everything is so dark though as I try to peer around. I open my mouth finally and speak, calling out loudly, "Hello?!"
Even my voice sounds strange, an English accent to it that I could swear I'd heard before, just never from my own mouth, but I'm not able to really contemplate what that means before a light turns on and a projector throws some sort of video up on the wall.
From the ceiling I hear a very familiar voice, "Hello Kevin."
The tone is that of disgust and triumph and I watch the video on the wall with wide eyes even as the lights behind me turn on as well. I don't turn around right away. I already know what I'll find. I watched this very scene just a short time ago. I recognize the home video of a young boy being experimented on that was playing on the wall before me.
Finally turning around, my fears were answered when Jessica Jones' face stared back at me, a small smug smirk making her look admittedly very hot if it weren't for the circumstances. Running my hands over my body, I looked down at my dark purple suit in horror and forced myself to finally admit in my head what I'd already begun to suspect.
Oh god.
I'm Kilgrave.
Stumbling back, I find my metal bed and collapse on it in shock. This… this is not what I wanted. Sure, I'd contemplated the idea. I'd spent some time considering what I'd do if I was in Kilgrave's place with his powers. The things I'd do differently and the ways I would use it to slide through life having fun, instead of wasting all my time hunting his parents and killing strangers like he had.
Nowhere in that though, had I wanted to shoulder Kilgrave's mistakes, his actions as my own. I especially hadn't wanted to start in the absolute worst spot in the show, the one time Kilgrave was captured and imprisoned at the mercy of the woman sitting outside this cell. Jessica speaks up again given my silence, the smirk on her face growing wider, "What's the matter, Kevin? Cat got your tongue?"
She puts so much emphasis on the name every time she says it. Kilgrave would probably have hated it, but I could care less. Might even start using Kevin full time, if I can get out of here. I consider for a long moment whether I should tell Jessica the actual truth. How will she react if I try to explain that Kilgrave isn't here anymore and some random fucker has taken his place?
Yeah, I wouldn't believe me either. Even if by some small chance I was able to convince her that it was true, what then? Simpson and Luke Cage would still want me dead and Jessica would still want Hope free. In the end, all I could do was play along and see where everything takes me. With that thought in my head I finally respond to my captor with a noncommittal, "Hello Jessica."
My tired resigned tone must be clear, as she immediately reacts to it with more smugness, "What's the matter Kevin? Lose your strut once you're no longer in control? Can't brainwash your way out of this one Kevin."
The continued emphasis on Kilgrave's name causes a slight twitch on my lips that she misinterprets, "Granted it is a mundane name, but Kilgrave? How obvious can you get? Was Murdercorpse already taken?"
I let out a low chuckle at the joke, one of the internet's favorite lines from the TV show given the amount of times I'd seen it so far in fanfiction, "Ah, I have to agree with you. It does seem rather melodramatic, doesn't it?"
That brings her up short, "What?"
Slowly, I slide my feet off the floor of the cell and onto the bench with me, bringing my knees to my chest and then standing atop that as well. Carefully, I unbutton my shirt and lay it across the driest part of the bench, before sitting on it now bare chested, "Are you going to torture me Jessica? Press that big red button and electrocute the water beneath my feet so that I tell you whatever you want to hear?"
An incredulous look passes over her face as her eyes glance towards said button and then back to me, "How did you?-"
I cut her off with a scoff, "Come now Jessica, I'm not stupid. You can still stop this you know. Let me out now and I won't press charges. I have no desire to spend any more time with you after this, but I'm willing to keep this out of the courtroom if you don't go any further. Let me go."
Jessica just smirks, "Go ahead, order me again Kevin. That's a hermetically sealed room; you can't control anyone while in it."
I roll my eyes for effect and shake my head as I speak in a somber and pitying tone, "You're delusional Jessica. You left me for dead and your brain cocked up this made up story about whom I am and what I can do. I wasn't trying to mind control you or anything like that. I was trying to appeal to whatever shreds of sanity you have left."
I give a slight smile, completely fake of course just like my next words, "I know that the girl I loved is still in there, somewhere."
That gets her to finally hit the big red button, and I feel it as the volts run up the legs of the metal table and through my thin shirt, which isn't as good an insulator as I'd hoped. With a yelp and a spasm I fall off my 'bed' and into the several of inches of water with very little decorum. As I leverage myself up, I see Jessica's smug grin as she turns back on the video player showing the experiments Kilgrave's parents did on him.
Reaching for and grabbing my shirt, I put it back on and button it up before lying down on the cot. I make a show of appearing to be agitated and irritated by the voices and the pained screams of a young Kevin, but in reality I'm soaking it all in. This right here is an origin story and I'm very interested in seeing more than the TV show ever gave me.

Jessica leaves and then comes back. I have no idea where she'd gone or what she'd done, perhaps a bathroom break, perhaps she'd called someone. Still, it was clear the questioning was back on as she flipped through several different experiments from the flash drive and began interrogating me again.
"So you weren't the only lab rat. Riva knew about this didn't she, and that's why you wanted her dead."
Sitting up on the metal cot I give a mirthless smile and shake my head, "No Jessica, Riva died in the bus crash that nearly killed me. She was our friend and she was helping me, helping us. Only, you've built this world where I don't get to have friends that I'm not controlling, so now she's just another victim. This isn't you Jessica."
Jessica grits her teeth together and puts her hand over the big red button, "Shut up Kevin."
I keep my lips sealed and after a moment of visibly controlling her anger, she goes down a different tact, "Who are these other kids? You killed for this video and you never thought to look for the other kids? Afraid of the competition?"
I scoff openly, "C'mon Jessica, you know why I wanted to find the flash drive. I was too busy looking for my parents to care about children in other parts of the world. You and Riva were both helping me, before that night."
Jessica just scoffs back, "Or maybe you already found and killed them all."
That's when Hogarth shows up. I notice her but beyond pointing her out to Jessica with a nod of my head, I don't react in any real way. I have no desire to experience a shock again. Jessica shuts off the mike and I'm left in silence and my own thoughts as I lean against the metal and glass and watch Hogarth and Jessica talk.
It's unfortunate I've never learned to read lips, but luckily I know the gist of what they're saying. Hogarth is telling Jessica that any confession she extracts from me will be inadmissible and dismissed as staged. I watch as she gets upset with Jessica for not helping her more with her current divorce proceedings. I can see the exact moment where Jessica tells Hogarth that because I've seen her, she's already implicated.
Jessica leaves to go find Clements, the detective she would try to have stand witness to my mind control powers. Hogarth remains, fiddling with her phone as she texts back and forth with her lawyer concerning the divorce. I continue to watch, knowing my moment will come soon.
She sits down and then minutes later she stands abruptly and places a call. I watch as she has a heated discussion with Wendy that ends with the latter hanging up and Hogarth staring at her phone in disbelief. That's my cue, so I raise my hand and knock casually.
Turning towards me, Hogarth gives me a look but I just nod towards the mic on the desk. After a moment of hesitation she walks over to it and presses the button that connects me to the world outside my cell once more. I smile appreciatively even as she speaks, "Did you need something?"
"I wanted to tell you that the offer I gave Jessica is still open. Let me out and I won't press charges. I thought Jessica loved me like I loved her and that we could make this work, but it's clear that despite my efforts, she's too far in her own broken delusion to see our past for what it truly is. Did you know that she's been living with me? Several days in fact, eating and sleeping together under the same roof. It was going great until… this."
Hogarth just snorts, but I press on, not nearly finished, "I suppose you would know though. It certainly sounds like Wendy is giving you quite a bit of trouble. Sorry, I was reading lips. Threatening to expose you? Love is such a fleeting thing I suppose."
Hogarth has her lips pursed together now, "Is there a point?"
I smile wide, "There always is, isn't there? Well, I just wanted to point out, that if someone were to let me out, go against Jessica's wishes… I would be in their debt, wouldn't I? They would in fact have the ability to call on me for several reasonable favors of a varying range of magnitudes. It would certainly not be terrible, having a powerful lawyer as my friend."
Hogarth's lips twitch in a smile, "I'll be sure to refer one."
That ends our conversation for the time being as Hogarth cuts off the mic once more, but I know the seeds have been planted. Pretty little Pam will finish my job for me and send Hogarth directly into my arms. All I have to do now… is wait.
Easier said than done. Settling back down onto my cot, I let out a low sigh and rest my eyes for a bit. Things will start up again soon enough, and I need to be sharp enough to navigate them, or I may end up dead in this stupid little cell.

The noses of the media were very sensitive to news. Even though the English Football Association had not officially announced the news about them reaching an agreement with Tony Twain, the news had already been leaked by The Sun.
　　However, they phrased it as a question, "New head of the Three Lions?"
　　The picture next to the headlines was a photo of Tony Twain.
　　The first thing Twain did when he saw this news was to switch off his phone. If he didn't, he knew that he would be bombarded by countless annoying phone calls that day.
　　The Football Association would be calling for a press conference the next day anyway, so everyone would be able to ask what they wanted to ask then.

　　The next day, at the English Football Association office in London Soho Square, the Football Association and Twain attended a press conference and officially announced that Twain would be taking over the role of England's manager.
　　Media from all over the world gathered at one place to witness it.
　　Even though he had been the manager of a football club for 11 years, this was still his first experience as the manager of a national team. He wore a new suit today for the special occasion, and even wore a tie, which was a rare occasion.
　　When he reached the venue, countless cameras were flashing even before he said anything, which stunned the Football Association's executive, Shaun Harvey.
　　When the two of them were seated, Harvey officially announced that Tony Twain would be taking up the reins as the England national team's manager.
　　"We're very happy to be able to get Tony Twain to take up the role of England's manager. Amongst the many candidates, Tony Twain's results were the key to him being chosen. His achievements when he was with Nottingham Forest are very satisfactory for us. We're very confident that the England team will be able to welcome the new dawn under Tony Twain's guidance."
　　Twain and the Football Association signed a two-year contract. The target was to win the European Championship, and depending on the results of that competition, they would decide if the contract would be extended to the World Cup.
　　Next, it was time for Twain to give a short speech about him taking up the post.
　　"Leading the England team is a new challenge to me, and I like challenges."
　　Once Twain said that, he sat back, which meant the reporters were free to ask questions.
　　It was short indeed.
　　The first reporter to stand and present his question was from The Times. His question was acceptable, "Mr. Twain, the best result that the previous manager, Capello, achieved was fourth place in the World Cup. May I ask if you have a specific target?"
　　Twain was about to answer when Harvey interrupted from the side, "Our target is the European Championship."
　　Twain glanced at him, then nodded and said, "Yes, the short-term target is the European Championship."
　　The questions after that went further and further away from the topic.
　　The reporters were obviously more interested in the reason Twain resigned from his post as Nottingham Forest's manager. Tony Twain had not given an explanation for that yet, and the Nottingham Forest Football Club had not revealed more information.
　　The reporter from The Sun stood up and asked, "Mr. Twain, what was your motive behind leaving Nottingham Forest when you were at the most glorious moment in your career?"
　　Twain looked at Harvey. The Football Association's executive also felt very awkward.
　　Therefore, Twain opened his arms and said, "I'm sorry, this is the press conference held by the Football Association regarding the new England manager, not a press conference for Nottingham Forest Football Club. You're at the wrong place, Mr. reporter from The Sun."
　　The moment had finally arrived. The reporters were exceptionally excited. They had not seen Twain for a month, but Twain was still unfriendly to them. When he was at the club, he did not have a good relationship with the media. They should not be under the illusion that things would change and that they would work in harmony now that Twain was with the England national team.
　　The media used Twain to attract more attention and readers by provoking him, whereas for Twain, going against the media was one of his greatest sources of happiness. Being the manager of a football team came with a lot of pressure. There had to be a way for him to let some of it go. Going against the media was not a bad way of doing so.
　　The reporters from The Sun wanted to continue their questioning, but Harvey finally interrupted again, "Mr. reporter, please ensure that your questions are relevant to the main topic today, otherwise, we have the right to not answer."
　　"Alright, Mr. Harvey. I have a question for you," the reporter smiled and nodded, "As the English Football Association, you've undoubtedly chosen Tony Twain as the manager of the national team because of his results. Is the Football Association worried that Mr. Twain's big mouth might bring about some unnecessary trouble for the team and the Football Association?"
　　"Um…" Harvey secretly cursed under his breath, "We believe that Tony Twain will be mindful of his actions."
　　Twain took over from him, "Don't worry about this matter, I'll definitely not bring any trouble to the Football Association or the England squad. I'll only retaliate if someone else takes the initiative to provoke me. I also hope that we'll be able to coexist peacefully in the days to come," when he finished, he glanced at the reporter from The Sun with a look that suggested there was a hidden meaning within his words.
　　When it was known that Twain was attending the press conference, Pierce Brosnan was sent to London by the chief editor in the hope that his personal relationship with Twain would bring him some exclusive news. Unfortunately, Twain had switched off his phone, and Brosnan could only attend the press conference in the same way as the other reporters.
　　He was picked by the host and stood up to ask his question. Like the reporter from The Sun, he wanted to ask Twain why he left Forest, but he knew that he would not get any answers by asking that. All that would've done was destroy the relationship between him and Twain.
　　"Mr. Twain, can you reveal some of the principles that you plan to build your team around?
　　"All the English players have a chance to be chosen for the national team. I do not care about their fame, or even what their names are. I'll only look at their form and their attitudes. Lazy players have no place on my team," Twain replied, indicating an "iron hand", but that was within everybody's expectations. That was the kind of manager that he was. He was like this when he was with Nottingham Forest—he would not take no for an answer, and nobody could oppose what he said.
　　Brosnan did not continue to ask questions and sat down. Another person stood up, "Mr. Twain, when you were at Nottingham Forest, you thought that Forest was the best team in England. Do you plan to build the team around the English players on the Forest team then?"
　　Of course, Twain knew that this person was asking if he would be biased towards the English players in Nottingham Forest in a roundabout way. He did not bother to explain, "No, I won't do that. I'll be impartial in choosing my players." This did not agree with his character and style.
　　He nodded and said, "If they perform well, why not?"
　　Appointing people based on favoritism was bad, but there was also a saying that states one should appoint people based on their merits. Compared to the players of the other teams, he was more familiar with the Nottingham Forest players, therefore the Forest players would naturally look to him for some help. Twain did not avoid this topic, in fact, he was prepared for it.
　　If the media were to criticize him, the reason for that would not be because he picked too many Forest players, but because he lost the match. Therefore, the national team was no different from the club, as long as his team won, there would not be any problem.
　　After he understood the fundamentals of the problem, things became much simpler.
　　Twain handled the rounds of questions by the media perfectly, showing no weakness. After resting for more than a month, the time did not look like it affected him at all. When the press conference ended, Harvey was very satisfied with Twain's performance—he had not caused any problems at the press conference.
　　Harvey just hoped that this was not a rare, lucky occasion.

　　After the press conference, news of Tony Twain taking up the role of England's manager was on all major prints, television, radio broadcasts, and the internet. Twain became the hottest news topic.
　　His pictures were all over the newspapers.
　　BBC was planning to send him an invitation for an exclusive interview.
　　Kerslake was having breakfast while reading the latest newspaper. He flipped to the sports section first.
　　He saw a front-page picture of Twain. He was wearing a bespoke suit with a tie and a stern expression on his face.
　　Kerslake was reminded of the way he left Forest when he saw Twain's picture. There was no doubt that Twain had lied to him, promising him that he would be the first to know. In the end, the news spread like wildfire amongst the media before he received a postcard with a tropical bikini lady from Brazil that Twain sent to tell him that he had resigned.
　　This was sudden news, but Kerslake was prepared for it. As an assistant manager, he knew very well that Twain and Allan had a rocky relationship. But he did not expect Twain to abandon the team that he had painstakingly managed for 11 years just because of this reason. He was truly an enigma; one could not predict what he would do through normal logic.
　　In Kerslake's opinion, leaving at the highest point of his career was a very difficult decision. However, he did not know that Twain had been considering this problem for a whole year and was still hesitant in the end. If Evan's actions had not disappointed him so much, he might have still stayed in Wilford. Initially, he had the intention of leaving because of the row with Allan, but he eventually realized that Evan, with his smiling face, was also against him; that meant that he did not have to struggle anymore because it would be much easier for him to just leave.
　　Kerslake sighed at the way fate worked while holding the newspaper before putting it down and continuing with his breakfast. Then, his phone rang.
　　Looking at the phone number, it was Tony Twain!
　　"You finally called, Tony. Is it to apologize?"
　　"I'm very sorry, David. I did not know that the club would call a press conference so quickly. I sent the postcard as soon as I reached Brazil." Twain knew what Kerslake was referring to by "apologize", and he did owe his partner an apology. He also had a favor to ask of him.
　　"Forget it, let bygones be bygones. Do you need me for something?" Kerslake did not want to dwell on that matter as it was pointless.
　　"It's like this, David. You should know by now that I'm England's new manager, right?"
　　"I'm reading the papers. You look too stern in the photo."
　　"Ha!" Twain laughed, "I'm now a general with no army, there's no one to help me. I intend to invite you to join England's coaching team. We work well together. There won't be any problems!"
　　Kerslake stopped eating and fell silent for a while.
　　Twain did not rush him, he knew that this was sudden news and he had to give him some time to think, "You don't have to give me an answer now, David. You can take a few days to consider and call me after that…"
　　"No, I reject your offer, Tony."
　　"Really, you can take a few days to consider it, David."
　　"I've already considered it just now," Kerslake was firm in his answer, there was no room for discussion.
　　"Okay then… Can you tell me why?" Twain knew he could not persuade Kerslake because he did not like to force people to do things that they did not want to.
　　"I love Forest, Tony. After you left, Forest was a mess. The new manager, Martin O'Neill doesn't understand this team at all. I have to stay and help him get acclimated to the team as soon as possible. Now that you're gone, if I leave too, I don't know what will become of this team…"
　　Twain felt his face flush a little when he heard what Kerslake said. He had been forcing himself to ignore news about Forest because he was afraid that he would feel heartache—the team of champions that he built with his own hands had already sold two of its players, and the word was they were going to keep selling. When the new season began, how many of the original members would be left of the treble-winning Nottingham Forest team?
　　"If Tang was still here, I might have said yes. Oh yes, why don't you ask Tang?"
　　Twain thought to himself that it would be pointless to ask him, the answer would be the same as Kerslake's. He wanted to be a manager, and he was doing well in Notts County. Why would he leave the team that he had been leading to be an assistant manager for Twain on the England national team?
　　"Sorry that I can't help you, Tony. I wish you all the best."
　　After he hung up the call from Twain, Kerslake picked up the newspaper again. He was in a daze for quite a while as he looked at Twain's picture in the paper.
　　"Who was calling so early in the morning?" his wife asked, wiping her hands as she came out from the bathroom. She had been giving their son a bath.
　　"An old friend," Kerslake replied as he put down the newspaper again, finishing up his breakfast.

　　Twain was troubled by the fact that he had no suitable coaching team now—even though his coaching team had been very good at Nottingham Forests, they were not willing to join the England team. When Capello became manager, he brought an all-Italian coaching staff. From the assistant manager to the goalkeeping coach and the fitness coach, they were all Italians. When Capello left his post, these Italians left England with him, leaving nothing for Twain. He had to first build his coaching team before he built the team.
　　He gave Roy Keane a call next, hoping to invite him to be England's assistant manager. As expected, Keane rejected him.
　　"I'm Irish, Tony," Keane gave a strange laugh, perhaps due to the strange nature of Twain's invitation, "How could I possibly be an assistant manager for the England team? Have you ever seen an Argentine being an assistant manager for the Brazil national team?"
　　Twain realized that he was not a very popular person. Other than a few friends, he was unable to find any more potential partners. Those friends of his were all managers of their own teams. For them to drop what they were doing and be his assistant manager? They would have to be crazy to do so.
　　Even though the Football Association recommended a few candidates for him, Twain still hoped to look for one himself. In this way, the coach that he found would be the one that he truly needed, and they would be able to work together and achieve more with the same effort.
　　He needed an assistant manager, a goalkeeping coach, a fitness coach, and a psychologist. The most important one amongst them was an assistant manager. Twain's managing style meant that he needed an able assistant manager to support him so that he did not have to worry much about the training, and he could focus more on the tactics and analysis of their opponents.
　　This assistant manager did not need to be very famous, just capable and willing to listen to what Twain said. Twain was able to control the locker room himself, an assistant manager who had a mediocre character might even have a better effect.
　　Where would he find an assistant manager like that?


This is a story about the pursuit of victory.

— "I subscribe only to the theory of victory. I only pursue victory. As long as I am able to obtain victory, I don’t care if it’s total football or counterattack. What is the ultimate goal of professional soccer? In my opinion, it is victory, and the pinnacle of victory is to become the champions. I am a manager. If I don’t wish to lose my job or be forgotten by the people, there’s only one path for me to take, and that is to lead the team in obtaining victories, in obtaining championship titles!”

The main character was not well-liked by people.

— “⋯We conducted a survey which had been deemed by Manager Tony Twain as extremely meaningless. In a random street survey conducted, ninety-three percent of those surveyed chose the option ‘I hate Tony Twain’, while only seven percent chose the option ‘This person is rather decent, I like him’. It is worth noting that nobody chose the option ‘Who is Tony Twain? I don’t know him’. Mark, do you know why Manager Twain felt that our survey was very meaningless?” Parker, a reporter from <The Daily Telegraph> laughed loudly and said when he was being interviewed by BBC.

But there were also people who were madly in love with him.

— “⋯ Became the spokesperson of world-wide famous clothing brands, shot advertisements, frequented the fashion industry’s award ceremonies, endorsed electronic games, has a supermodel girlfriend. His earnings from advertisements exceed his club salary by seventeen times, owns a special column in various print medias, publishing his autobiography (in progress), and is even said that he is planning to shoot an inspirational film based off his own person experiences! Who can tell me which part of his life experiences is worthy of being called ‘inspirational’? Hold on⋯. Are you all thinking that I’m referring to David Beckham? You’re sorely mistaken! I’m talking about Manager Tony Twain⋯.”

He was very knowledgeable about Chinese soccer.

— “⋯ I’ve heard about it, that Bora gifted four books to his manager Mr. Zhu before your country’s national team’s warm up match. After which, the team lost 1:3 to a nameless American team from Major League Soccer. The new excuse that Mr. Zhu gave for losing the match, was that Bora gifted “books” (‘books’ and ‘lose’ are homophones in the Chinese language). Here, I recommend that you guys find out what that one specific book is. Which book? Of course the one that caused you all to score a goal. After that, tell me the title of the book. Before every match, I will gift ten copies of that same book to you. In that case, won’t you all be able to get a triumphant 10:0 win over your opponents every time?” An excerpt taken from Tony Twain’s special column in a certain famous Chinese sports newspaper.



Zhang Zian was Pi's only friend. The other elves in the pet shop could talk but Pi couldn't, and Pi was the only elfin that could type, so Pi found it difficult to communicate with others. Zhang Zian had always been worried about Pi. When he couldn't keep it company, who could relieve its loneliness?

In China, it was forbidden to have primates as pets, so Pi couldn't appear before humans. Zhang Zian couldn't explain to others that Pi wasn't an animal, it was an elfin, ruling out the possibility of Pi making friends in real life. 

Zhang Zian felt that the Internet was a good space to make friends. As the saying goes, on the Internet, nobody knows who you are.

Pi carefully thought about his suggestion, nodded, and typed: I'll try it.

So, Zhang Zian helped it join the group established by the readers. The application was approved almost instantly. The readers in the group were so exhilarated seeing that Pi had joined the group.

"Are you the author?"

"Are you really the author?"

"Are you actually the author of Pet King?"

Everyone asked questions one after another.

Zhang Zian looked at Pi with encouragement. Having just learned the skill, Pi captured the screen of the platform for authors on the Qidian website and sent the image to the group. Then Pi typed: Hello, everyone. I'm the author of Pet King. Thank you for your support!

The readers were even more excited, expressing their love of the book and their curiosity about the author.

Pi was bemused, not knowing what questions to answer first or how to answer them. Fortunately, the group's manager helped Pi in a timely manner. 

[Killed by A Sword]: Everyone, don't harass the author. You'll delay Popo's writing. 

Zhang Zian was surprised. They've given Pi a nickname?!

"Eeek."

Pi smiled. It seemed to like the nickname.

Pi found that the readers were very friendly. Whether they were discussing the plot of Pi's book or talking about their life experiences, they were very polite, which was completely different from what Pi had imagined. Every once in a while, Pi would slip in one or two sentences to express its own opinions. Each comment from Pi was praised by the readers, who would subsequently ask Pi a series of questions or urge Pi to release more chapters, making Pi feel overwhelmed again. 

As Zhang Zian watched the interaction between Pi and the readers, he knew it was a great idea to ask Pi to join the Book Group.

While chatting with the readers, Pi refreshed the website from time to time. Previously, the number of readers who had put Pet King in their libraries was 9,853. Now, the number was increasing.

9,887.

9,923.

9,945.

9,972.

Finally, the number became 9,999.

Zhang Zian held his breath, and Pi minimized the chat room window. Their eyes stared at the number, waiting for the moment when it became ten thousand.

However, reality was different from their expectations. When Pi refreshed the website once again, the number decreased to 9,998.

"Eeek."

Pi lowered its head. Every time it saw the number decline, it'd be so frustrated and thought that the readers gave up reading the book because of its poor writing. 

"Pi, raise your head."

Zhang Zian patted its shoulder, comforting it. "Pi, you have to remember that your novel isn't the Renminbi and it will never be liked by everyone. You should know that only two out of ten customers actually decide to buy my pets. Money means nothing to me." 

Pi raised its head and pointed at its chest. The gesture meant: You should be ashamed of what you just said.

However, Zhang Zian's joke had helped Pi regain its confidence and courage. Pi quickly forgot the one reader who had just left and refreshed the webpage again.

"Eeek!" Pi danced with joy. 

"Finally, 10,000! High-five!" Zhang Zian raised his right palm.

Pi lifted its small pink hand and gently hit Zhang Zian's palm. Zhang Zian wanted to celebrate, but his cell phone suddenly rang.

He took out his cell phone, thinking that it was a message from an acquaintance or merchant. He was surprised to find that Pet Hunter had opened with new three tips. 

[Game Tips]: Congratulations! Your Molecule Monkey has collected enough Strength of Faith to upgrade!

[Game Tips]: Your Molecule Monkey is currently an Elite level elfin. After upgrading, it will become an Elite/Premier elfin. 

[Game Tips]: Are you upgrading now? If you choose "No," you can upgrade it later.

[Yes/No, remind me later]

Zhang Zian was stunned. It was his first time encountering the upgrade of an elfin. 

His palm was still touching Pi's, so Zhang Zian could feel its temperature that was slightly higher than that of humans. He looked at Pi, who was staring at the computer screen with joy and refreshing the page with the other to see the number increase.  

Zhang Zian glanced at the computer screen. The Add to Library number had become 10,031.

Although he didn't pay attention to the time, he believed that the game's upgrade option popped up when the number had reached 10,000.

Was that a coincidence?

"Pi, I'm going to the bathroom. Stay here by yourself for a while. By the way, don't just chat with the readers, start writing," he said, taking his hand back.

Pi nodded and excitedly launched the Word document. However, the novelty of joining the group hadn't yet passed, and Pi still occasionally looked at the chatroom.

Zhang Zian entered the bathroom, closed the door, and said in a low voice, "Navigation Elfin, are you there?"

[Navigation Elfin]: At your service.

A flashing light appeared on the screen of Zhang Zian's cell phone. 

"Navigation Elfin, is this 'upgrade' the kind I imagined?" he asked, thinking that the Navigation Elfin would be able to understand what he meant without explanation. 

[Navigation Elfin]: Yes, the upgraded Molecule Monkey won't disappear, unless it's downgraded due to losing its Strength of Faith.

"Are there any side effects?" he asked with concern.

[Navigation Elfin]: There are no side effects.

There was no reason that the Navigation Elfin would lie, Zhang Zian believed it. "Thank you, I have no other questions."

[Navigation Elfin]: Enjoy playing your game!

The light disappeared.

Zhang Zian took a deep breath, and clicked "Yes."

Sunday, continued …
After letting Anna have another cry in his arms Hou Yi gently moved her off him so he could head into the bathroom running Anna a bath before coming back and carrying her into the bathroom. Before leaving he said "Have a soak in the bath. I will start making those calls before coming and joining you."
Looking directly at Hou Yi, Anna said "Yi..." in a voice that was so tempting for Hou Yi to simply remain in the bathroom. At the same time, she slowly slipped off the nightdress that she had put on at some time during the night to tempt him further to stay.
Swallowing, realising how difficult it was to leave Hou Yi turned and moved towards the door, before turning back and saying, "Sweetheart I need to make these calls, but I will return as quickly as possible."
As Hou Yi was leaving the bathroom Anna said quietly "You better be back quickly Yi ..."
When he was back in the bedroom, Hou Yi grabbed his phone and firstly called CEO Yang, but only reached his message bank so he left a message. He then scrolled through the phone to try and find a number to call any Lu Family member. However, the phone rang before he could make this call, his phone rang and Hou Yi noticed it was CEO Yang returning his call.
"CEO Hou, why in the world are you calling me at such an early time on a Sunday."
"I have to apologise for disturbing you so early, but I have information you need to be aware of, along with Lu Corporation's board members. I realised that I have no number of any other Lu Corporation Board Member than yourself to call."
"Do not mess around. I have better things to do at 8am on a Sunday than to trade barbs with you on the phone."
"I am not trying to mess with you. I was trying to find contact details for members of the Lu Family and the Lu Corporation Board, rather than having to disturb you but as I said I have no number to call for anyone else."
"Stop messing around and tell me why you called."
Hou Yi was getting annoyed at CEO Yang. All he wanted to do was be difficult, rather than offering him a number that he could call. Fine, he would pass on the total mess to him to deal with, as in reality the last thing that he wanted to do was deal with a member of the Lu Family. "You have to confirm to me that you will pass on to the Lu Corporation Board and Family what I am about to tell you."
Angrily CEO Yang spat out "Fine. Just tell me."
"The only reason I have this information is my wife and I have also been victims of Lu Jingho's behaviour and the police believed we needed to know. He is being charged over the recent incidents involving my wife and I as well as multiple counts of s*xual offences involving children. Apparently, he has used Lu Corporation Assets in these activities. I suspect the full picture of what Lu Corporation's exposure is will come out at the press conference or soon after it."
Shocked, CEO Yang responded, "You have to be kidding me."
"I wish I was."
After a few seconds of silence, came the response "You are truly serious?"
"I am. Can you please inform the Lu Family and the Lu Corporation Board members, as I suspect there will be serious impacts on the company my wife and I are shareholders of."
"Do you know the time of the press conference?"
"The police have asked us to attend the police Station before the conference at 11am, so I would guess at 11:30am or noon. Look I do not have time to spend on the phone …"
"I get it you needed to pass the information on."
"Just please assure me that the information is not made public until after the police have their press conference."
"Not a problem."

"Waiting for me there were Harry Potter-Black, Severus Snape, and the body of Lord Voldemort, beheaded and under a stasis spell. I immediately called for an Auror team to search the building and a forensics team to check the dead body, and I cannot tell you how relieved I was to receive official confirmation that the dead body was indeed that of the late Lord Voldemort, and that he was most definitely dead. In the same building was a second shock of the evening – Peter Pettigrew, very much alive and with Voldemort's brand on his arm, was hiding out among his fellow Death Eaters."

While the other reporters remain frozen in shock at the blunt statements of our DMLE Head, this intrepid reporter manages to get more information for our curious readers. Most importantly: Who defeated You-Know-Who, and how? Who is Harry Potter-Black? What role does Severus Snape, Hogwarts Potions Master, play in this situation?

To this reporter's surprise, the answer comes not from Madam Bones, but from her raven-haired companion. "My name is Lord Harry James Potter-Black," announces the stranger, "and I killed Voldemort with a Cutting Curse to the neck. Severus Snape, our spy in Voldemort's ranks," his gesture in Madam Bones' direction suggests that Snape is the DMLE's spy, "apparated me into Voldemort's hideout and watched my back. This victory would not have been possible without him."

But who is this mysterious Lord? "I am not related to Harry Potter," the man declares upon the question, his smile suggesting hidden secrets, "I AM Harry Potter." At this reporter's request for clarification he reveals a truth too fantastical to believe. According to Lord Potter-Black, he is a future version of our very own Boy-Who-Lived, and traveled back in time to defeat You-Know-Who.

"Lord Potter-Black allowed himself to be questioned under Veritaserum; he speaks the truth," Madam Bones assures the readers. When asked whether the Daily Prophet could have a copy of the interrogation for publication Madam Bones informs us that the original questioning is too detailed for publication, but that the Ministry certainly can forward a condensed version to the Daily Prophet for publication. "Voldemort is dead," Lord Potter-Black declares, his voice firm with conviction. "Now is the time to look to the future; for Britain to reestablish itself as an international player and ensure that this will not happen again. Britain has suffered much under recent Dark Lords, and we must educate the next generation so that we will not face a repeat of the same situation a few years on. Together, let us work towards lasting peace and prosperity."

As I look to my fellow reporters I see that I am not the only one wondering whether Minister Fudge will soon be out of a job.

LARGRAXAXES CAPABLE OF TIME TRAVEL!

On Saturday morning Lady Poack, who goes by the alias Harry Potter-Black, revealed to me the means of true time travel: One must have a domesticated Largraxaxe! As we have reported in the past, Largraxaxes are extremely difficult to find, but Lady Poack was able to explain to me the reason for it.

"Largraxaxes are the only species capable of controlled time travel, and when one is close to finding one it simply hops into another time," she explains in a very credible man's voice. According to the Lady, Largraxaxes have the appearance of large, blue-and-green toads with bright orange saliva and yellow blood.

"In order for a human to jump through time, they need to domesticate a Largraxaxe and have it voluntarily bite the human. Mixing the saliva with a human's blood – within the body," the Lady specifies intently, "sends the human back in time."

But what sends a human forward in time, you ask? "You don't want to know," the Lady assures, a delicate shudder running through the manly figure. "I will limit myself to saying that a liquid from the other end of the Largraxaxe's body is needed."

Unfortunately, she was forced to leave her Largraxaxe in the future when attempting such a long jump – Lady Poack came from over a century in the future, reverting to a youthful appearance as a side-effect of the Largraxaxe saliva used to power the time jump. When told sympathetically that she is sure to regain her womanly figure soon, Lady Poack laughs in a delightful tenor. "I will admit that I look far too boyish for my liking; perhaps I will at least gain a bit of muscle and look more like an adult." I assured her that she looked very manly in the regal robes she wore, and she thanked me for the compliment. I couldn't help but notice that she glanced at her shoulder in a way that suggested an invisible Jerming was perched there.

What other wondrous creatures has the mysterious Lady Poack managed to domesticate? I will endeavor to find out soon!
