Three black werecat orphan brothers are trying their best to find a home when they are finally adopted. Everything goes great with their new family until tragedy strikes and they are left with an unexpected guardian.

This story is about an average high school boy with an average lifestyle who likes to read novels especially fantasy ones and was transferred to another world along with his classmates from his school.

As they were transferred our protagonist, John Kaiser, was the sole student among his classmates who were left behind, leaving him all alone in their classroom.

As he was wondering what happened to the others, he remembered one of the novels he had read. It was a story of a fantasy world, where a king of a human kingdom summons heroes from another world to save their world from the demon king, a typical Isekai (Another World)  fantasy novel.

Our protagonist, John Kaiser, started to contemplate and question 'why?' why was he the only one not summoned?

And as his questions go crazy, a light emerges from the place where he was sitting.

Is this the start of our protagonist's fantasy adventure as a hero? Or will he live the same life again as an average person even in another world?

Marcus has woken up disoriented, missing memories, and woefully unprepared for this new world. Dangerous, unforgiving, and enigmatic, this unfamiliar place seems destined to end his life.

Marcus isn't the only one who's found themselves stuck to this new realm, and he'll need to come to grips with facing whole new species, many humanoid and not. Learning from those who've withstood this world's trials will only be the first step in his journey to survive.

This world, despite having some functions similar to that of a video game, has no value in attributes. Skills and traits are earned, and no arbitrary stat checks will be giving him any kind of chance at survival.

Armed with only an unorthodox ally and a status screen, he's going to need to think quick and fast, or he won't see the next sunset, more or less make it back home.

If he even can.

The mental pressure to which Daniel's mind was subjected kept increasing with every single step he took, forcing him to feel as if something as easy as walking had turned into something akin to an insurmountable obstacle.
Luckily, for someone with the rare ability of mental fortitude which Daniel had learned from Aeron, this pressure was easily revealed for what it truly was... an illusion. 
An illusion which after just a few minutes, in front of the shocked and dejected eyes of the observers, he was able to defeat by reaching the top of the flight of stairs with what appeared to be no effort whatsoever.
During this ascent, Daniel had wondered what he would find once he would reach the top. Whether it was a legacy of sorts, whether he would gain the favor of the powerful cultivators he had seen, or even if he would be killed on the spot. The language barrier had made it difficult for him to understand what was at stake, leaving him with no choice but to trust his luck.
The moment Daniel reached the top, he found himself in a small square platform, around which four walls that were not there at first, had formed as soon as he had set foot on it. In the middle of this newly formed small room, was a shiny black pedestal on which a few words had been carved, and filled with a liquid golden substance.
Despite being unable to understand the meaning of these words, Daniel could feel a familiar form of power being emanated from them. The same kind of familiarity he had felt being emanated by the cultivators who had managed to cultivate beyond the peak of the godhood stage whom he had encountered since reaching this universe.
Unable to understand the complexity of this universe's alphabet, Daniel sat in front of the podium with his legs crossed, and closed his eyes. He then activated Time is Precious, and began to delve into the memories which he had observed during the march towards the testing site. There, he relived the lives of the owners of these memories, and with them, he tried to learn the language that had been taught them during their younger years.
Thanks to his system, something that the young and fresh mind of a toddler could learn in a few years, was absorbed by Daniel in less than ten minutes… Time in which he achieved around eighty percent of mastery over that language. 
What was stopping him from learning the remaining part, unfortunately, was the fact that the older a person became, the less they would learn, and the longer the learning process would take. That had forced Daniel to have to go through dozens of times the number of memories in order to learn what his knowledge was still lacking.
Not sure about how much time he had there, Daniel rose back to a standing position, and moved towards the podium with the intention of making another attempt at reading what was carved on it… but when he found himself in front of it, he realized that what was written on the podium required a level of knowledge that both the mortals and low level cultivators from which he had learned the language, clearly did not possess.
However, the twenty odd minutes of meditation hadn't gone to waste, as of the few words carved on the slab of black stone of which the pedestal was made out of, Daniel recognized one word. That word was "Champion."
It did not take long for Daniel to guess that what was written onto this slab of stone was a chant regarding cultivation, and therefore, was about something that went beyond the knowledge of mortals and low level cultivators.. or at least, very word but the one he had recognized, which was of relatively common use.
After recognizing that word, Daniel pinpointed the pronunciation from within the memories of the mortals' minds he had explored, and soon after, "Ragora." He muttered to himself.
"How did you get in here?" Said a voice that came from behind Daniel, in the language of his universe. Taken by surprise, Daniel instantly turned around only to find an old man clad in golden armor standing behind him. 
Thanks to his experience, it did not take more than a simple look for Daniel to recognize this man as an aspect of existence. The very personification of one part of the universe.
Before Daniel could even respond to his question, the aspect of existence looked him up and down, and asked with confusion, "You are a champion of Destiny.. So why do I feel the mark of allegiance to Lord Conflict in you?" 
The moment the last sentence reached Daniel's ear, he finally realized why the cultivators that had broken past the godhood stage, gave off such a familiar feeling. 
Between Iewah, Conflict, and the rest of the aspects of existence that had tried to influence the factions of his universe less than a decade ago, Daniel had met more aspects of existence than most other people, and that was the reason why he felt a familiar feeling present in the power emanated by cultivators of this universe.
At first he couldn't make out the connection, but when this aspect of existence asked him why he could feel the mark of two aspects of existence, which Daniel guessed he was referring to as his system as 'Destiny's mark,' and his connection to the demonic wolf cub that had left a trace of Conflict's mark in his body, he had realized that the method to cultivate past the stage of godhood, had something to do with a form of power granted by the aspect of existence themselves.
"Why should I answer your questions? I don��t even know who you are." Said Daniel with a dismissive tone.. A tone which he dared to use only because of how this aspect of existence had referred to the aspect of conflict, almost as if he was a follower of Conflict himself-a behavior that had led him to believe that he wouldn't kill him easily.
Visibly irritated by Daniel's lack of respect, the unnamed aspect of existence narrowed his eyes before saying, "I am Competition, the aspect of existence around which the cultivation of your kin revolves. Now speak, how did you get in here?"
Something that Conflict himself had explained to Daniel, was the fact that the standing of an aspect of existence was based on the influence it possessed in the multiverse. That meant that while all of them could be considered deities of sorts, there were immense differences in the powers they possessed, which led to a clear hierarchy. An example of this was the relationship between Conflict and Competition. 
To define the aspect of competition was the drive that pushed the multiverse's sentient beings to reach the top, but at the same time, that form of competition was not only included, but also a small part of the higher aspect of Conflict, which had existed way before sentient life was born. Similarly, in the pantheon of the aspects of existence, Conflict possessed a lower standing than his older kin, entities like Fate, Chaos, and a few others, which had existed ever since the beginning of times.
��I am just taking a look at this universe. I would have avoided this encounter, had I known it was reserved for the champions of your universe." Said Daniel with a calm tone.
"Such a small existence, and yet you dare avoid my questions.." muttered competition before once again looking at Daniel up and down. In him, Competition could feel the remnant power of nigh-omnipresence. A power that the aspects of existence possessed since the moment they were born, and that allowed them to move from one universe to another without having to go through the immense pocket dimension that contained the Triphort.. The grid of portals that connected the many universes together, and that was used to limit the power of the mortal cultivators who visited other universes.
Considering that the power to move freely throughout the universe without having to use the Triphort was exclusive to the aspects of existence, Competition had no doubts that Daniel was hiding something from him. However, since taking mortals from one universe to the other was a violation of the rules dictated by the higher aspects of existence, the only reasonable explanation for Daniel's situation was that he had been helped by an aspect of existence capable of acting while remaining unnoticed, and in Competition's mind, that automatically narrowed the field to those who possessed a much status than his own.
Unwilling to offend an older and more powerful entity, Competition looked at Daniel with newfound indifference, and said, "I have created this test to select the most talented amongst my champions. Your result, if I decided to grant you my blessing, would make you a candidate to rule this universe under my name."
While this revelation could have been received extremely well by anybody that lived inside the universe, to Daniel, there was nothing worse. In this universe he was far from being able to defend himself, and now that he had shown himself to be able to compete for the ownership of this universe, he had effectively turned himself into an enemy in front of the eyes of tens of thousands of powerful cultivators.
"I don't want your blessing. Can you just send me out?" Said Daniel while taking a step back.
"As if-If you believe I would meddle into the matters of Fate just to find a ruler for this corner of the multiverse, then I have grossly overestimated your intelligence." Responded Competition after scoffing at him.
Slightly confused by the words of the aspect of existence, Daniel asked, "I thought I was champion of Destiny. What has Fate to do with me?"
Daniel's ignorance came to no surprise for Competition, who sighed in exasperation before saying, "Of course you don't know. Your existence as a spawn of Destiny is but an experiment.. Or more accurately, an argument."
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"Fate and Destiny. Many consider them to be different entities, and some think they are one and the same. Regardless of which side is right, however, we all agree that they are two sides of the same coin, with only perspective to separate them." responded Conflict before creating a single coin with blank sides, and showing its opposite sides to Daniel.
"Your existence is Destiny's argument that the future isn't set in stone, and that with enough power, one possesses true freedom. That is how Destiny's peculiar blessing was born, but at the same time, every decision that leads to an undesired result, which would include your death, is Fate's counter argument."
As he reached this point, Daniel could not remain quiet anymore, and asked, "If Iew… If Destiny picks us to prove that our future is in our own hands, why does he plant a personality whose objective is to kill us?"
"We aren't certain of that." Responded Competition. "The most credible theory is that, by giving out the power to change one's future, Destiny isn't birthing another entity, but is in fact creating a smaller version of itself. A consciousness that, along with the power granted to his champions by Destiny, is able to become a demi-aspect that stands in between the kind of mortals, and mine... But this is just one of many theories."
Competition's explanation gave Daniel much to talk about, but unfortunately, now he had more pressing matters to worry about. He still needed to find a way to avoid the complication of becoming this universe's ruling candidate.. After all, this universe was much more dangerous than his own.
After noticing that Daniel seemed uninterested in delving deeper into the topic, Competition said, "Very well. I have aided you out of my allegiance for Lord Conflict, and I won't erase you out of respect for Lord Fate. Now, prepare yourself, I am sending you out."
As the last sentence reached Daniel's ears, he turned to look at Competition with a face filled with panic. He had hoped that he would be allowed to stay long enough to formulate a plan but that was not the case, and before he could say "Wait!" he had already been teleported back into the city he had arrived in a few hours earlier.
Behind him the flight of stairs had completely disappeared, and around him, what before was a crowd of young cultivators, was now a smaller crowd of just around two hundred men and women of different ages, who attentively observed every single detail of him, and movement he made.
Left with no time to think, Daniel closed his eyes, and created a new mission with his system. One that would grant him a chance to survive this event.
When he opened his eyes a few seconds later, the man that had welcomed the young cultivators to test themselves at the bottom of the flight of stairs just a few minutes earlier, was now standing in front of him. His arrival had been so quiet, that even Daniel had been unable to notice it.
The moment Daniel's eyes landed on the man, he said a few words to him, words which Daniel did not appear to understand. 
Confused by the lack of a response, the man kept asking questions to him, but none of these numerous attempts were more successful than the first one.
After a multitude of failed attempts at communication, the man placed his hand over the shoulder of a confused Daniel. Then, he closed his eyes. What appeared in his mind, were memories of a young man being raised by a traditional clan native to this universe. A clan that had been brutally wiped out by a rival family, and of which only its young master had survived after recovering from a brutal head trauma that had left him unable to talk, or to even formulate thoughts different from the thing he had desired for the most before the accident.. And that, was to participate in this event. That person appeared exactly like Daniel.
A few moments after placing his hand onto Daniel's shoulder, the old man removed it. He then turned to look at the other warriors, and said in their language and in a tone filled with disappointment, "His head.. He is not right."

I lost to her so Jull went in.

No matter how it is, with my new looks, sneaking will be hard, I will need to find a new way to sneak around now.

My height totally ruined the whole thief thing I used to do.

I kept thinking about this subject while Jull is in there.

I really wanted some magic for sneaking. 'Invisibility' spell is not a bad choice, 'Muffle' spell too, there is a spell that is called 'Chameleon' that helps the person to form an illusion around himself that makes him or her visible but much harder to notice.

Speaking of 'Chameleon' spell, I created a shout lately and it was my own original shout, it also had a lot of inspiration from 'Chameleon' spell.

The way to create a shout is either by the using the current understanding of Dragons which is called the 'Aspect' with certain 'Words of Power' that share the same 'Aspect' between its three parts. Still, there is another way.

To weaken the Dragons, ancient Nords have created a shout to deprive the Dragons from their immortality temporarily. This meant that Voice Masters can train on new 'Words of Power' that was never created with the Dragons' understanding.

The problem that comes with that is the 'Aspect'. Every 'Words of Power' had one or more 'Aspect'.

To magic, 'Aspects' are the source code of the spell and with different techniques and effects, the aspects can be manipulated and controlled.

Dragons, on the other hand, had a more straightforward way. Each word has an 'Aspect' which is considered its understanding, and if one wants to change how the word works, one has to use at the word of power with another 'Aspect' or 'Understanding' that suits it.

A good example to that is the word of power I acquired from Mount Anthor, the 'Slen' word which means 'Flesh' that comes in 'Ice Form' shout and the word 'Tiid' which means 'Time' that comes from 'Time Slow' shout. These two words were combined by the dragon Alduin to make another spell called 'Slen Tiid Vo' which meant 'Flesh Time Opposite'. It is the very shout that Alduin uses to revive his dragon comrades that got killed long time ago and their souls still dwell in their remains.

Point is, one 'Word of Power' has more than one 'Aspect' or 'Understanding', and a word that has no 'Aspect' still have the potential if someone researched its 'Understanding'.

That took me back to the shout that was used by the ancient Nords to put down Dragons. It was really hard to comprehend and I tried to learn it for years since the first time I started practicing the Thu'um but I had to face a bitter truth. No matter how talented I am, I can't learn that shout without witnessing it.

If I could learn it then I wouldn't need to delve into a dangerous dungeon to get an 'Elder Scroll' only for the sake of learning that shout. Still, it was impossible to learn on my own.

When I tried to look for records about how the ancient Nord made it, I was left with zero result. Not even the famous Arcanaeum of the College had an answer to uncover such a mystery. But it wasn't that hopeless!

When I was reading a certain book, I found an old tradition of old mages that was something akin to forcing one's way through understanding but it was quite dangerous.

Researching it with some of my friends, I found out the truth of how to create a special 'Understanding' for a 'Word of Power'...

...And it wonderful!

The ancient Nords used an extreme method to create the shout. It was harsh and had difficult conditions too.

The 'Words of Power' with the proper 'Aspects' have the power to make the impossible possible such as degrading Dragons to Mortals.

To make it that way, first, one must have the true desire to do it. Not just any desire, but one must be driven by strong emotions such as loathing and warth. It was easy to imagine the ancient Nords in such a state of hate against their enemies, the Dragons.

The second step one must take is to forge those emotions into an 'Understanding' on an 'Aspect'. Apparently those ancient Nords who fought Alduin drank alcohol continuously for seven days and seven nights. Nothing but drinking and cursing the immortality of the Dragons. They kept drinking to fire up their loathing to an unimaginable degree until the point when they gave birth to a new 'Aspect' and that is 'Mortal Dragon'.

No matter how I thought about it, it was incredible, and I insisted on copying what they have done.

During my training and on a later stage when my hunger was easily suppressed, I chose a location in the forest and put my mind into action. I had learned the first word of 'Aura Vision' shout beforehand and copied its unique technique. 'Aura Vision' is not exactly a shout, it is a whisper, the only Thu'um that was introduced in the game as one that can be used in sneaking and can't be heard easily.

Anyway, after I arrived to the forest, I hid myself within the flora and started to merge in mind with it.

It rained heavily the first night.

It became cold the second night.

Birds started to stand on me the third night.

A small snake attacked the birds the fourth night.

Some ants had a fight with the snake and drove it away the fifth night.

A bear came and scratched his back to me the sixth night.

Some bees came and attacked the bear that stole their honey the seventh night.

Day by day, my presence started to be thinned and merged with the place around me, I also kept whispering the new 'Words of Power' I tried to create. Until the seventh night, my presence in the forest was so thin that I was hard to spot as a person anymore.

The eighth day was when the 'Aspect' was born. During that time, I found a way to channel my energy to nature and enrich it. I also found many ways to give Magicka and make the flora get energized.

By the time, I was finally planning to break free from my isolation but something more incredible happened. It was…

"Nothing in there!"

"Huh?"

Jull came out of nowhere and I was not in the mind to even sense her coming.

"Don't tell me you spaced out!" She said angrily.

"I am so so so sorry. I was planning something ahe…"

"It's not the time, that Sinding doesn't have the ring. I searched the whole place few times with 'Scan' but it was clean."

Oh!

This is not according to the plan at all.

So we don't know where the ring is. And we have no clue about it.

"Okay, this is enough for today." I said and walked away from Sinding's place.

"What will we do then? We can't stay in this town forever and we can't ensure anyone's safety from a werewolf."

"I know. Sinding will steal the Ring one day so that means he has a meaning to know where it is. Also he is a werewolf, and werewolves don't live in isolation from the pack."

"What do you mean?"

"I am saying there is another group of werewolves we don't know about. If I am not mistaken, Sinding belongs to a pack and they are nearby. There is a lot of questions here but I can already see a rough image of the situation now. Let's track him the next few days."

"I have already taken care of that, I have marked him with a 'Pinpoint' spell."

"Smart girl!"

Good move, good move indeed!

We went back to the inn and directly to bed.

I wasn't hungry like the last few days and I started to return to my normal diet.

The next day, I went out and started looking around the forest for anything abnormal.

The fact that there may be a werewolf den around the area made me excited as I have never fought one before. Many hunters chose the path of 'Lycanthropy' because of the many perks it would give them, but most importantly it was for the perks of acute and sharp senses. These gifts were incredible for hunters.

For a mage like myself, this was nothing amazing. I can train myself to the point where I can be as sharp as any beast anyway. And between training and gifts, training is more solid.

The day passed by but I couldn't find any interesting tracks or mark. Werewolves tend to leave some totems to mark their territories but there was nothing here.

If this keeps going, I will have to use more reckless measures.

Jull's search was the same. Nothing she could find.

That brought an end to the day and it started to make me feel impatient. To a hunter impatience is a sin but I am no hunter. I will do something about it.

The next day, I decided to make a strong appearance in town. My plan was to disguise as a 'Vigilant of Stendarr'.

The 'Vigilants of Stendarr' are a militant order of fighting monks and holy warriors of Stendarr, the Divine of Mercy. It was founded after the Oblivion Crisis that almost ended the world to combat the Daedric influence. The Vigilants also seek to root out vampires, werewolves, witches, and other creatures that prey on Mortals.

The appearance of such a character in Falkreath will sure create a small uproar. Jull will be watching Sinding's actions while I am snooping around him.

I had a locket of Stendarr that looked like one of the god's magical amulets. It was easy to fool people with it as the god amulets are actually rare and those who can tell the difference are only the mages or priests so I was safe as long as no one important checks it. I also put some shielding half assed enchantment on it to be safe.

After sneaking out of town, I changed my appearance a bit and wore a robe, also I carried the mace of sun damage that Jull uses. I think the act can stick around for some time now.

I entered the town once again from a different gate and introduced myself as a Vigilant. I thought for a second that my height may give me out but it seemed to be fine as long as I avoid the inn.

After talking to people and raising suspicions about werewolves, I went to the place Sinding works in, 'Corpselight Farm'.

"Stendarr's Mercy be upon you, for the Vigil has none to spare."

"Oh, yes, welcome!"

I talked to Mathies, the farm owner, and put a small amount of 'Aura' in my walk and talk.

The people were easily intimidated by my presence this way.

I really was apologizing to them in my heart. I didn't want to scare them at all. The one I was after is Sinding.

Sinding was present in the place and heard me asking about the werewolves yet he acted cool and natural. He was very calm and didn't even look away.

Anyway, after I was done. I walked out of town and headed south. Only then, I had checked my surroundings and changed back to my normal appearance then sneaked back to town.

"How is he acting?" I went to Jull who was waiting in the graveyard.

"He acted as if he was ill and requested to take the day off to visit the shrine."

Good! He is moving.

"Hey before we go…" Jull handed me a flask with a strange liquid.

"This is?" I asked.

"I realized that we neglected one fact. Werewolves are very vigilant to scents. We may get caught if we tracked him down like this."

Oh! I almost neglected that fact completely.

Humans are not that great with scents but sure as hell werewolves are. Jull just saved the whole operation right now.

"What is that anyway?" I asked.

"A mixture that the hunters use, some grinded herbs that grow in the forest and other things!"

"Good. Let's go after him."

"Eh… Never in the heavens, I expected you to clean up the cell so well. You caught me by a surprise, I will give you that."
 
After a few moments of simply staring at me and at the part of the room that the small torch of the guard illuminated, the man finally took a breath and spoke to me. His words, to my surprise for change, didn't contain any form of grudge or anger, filling me with the hope that whatever I did that resulted in this cell becoming my temporary home, wasn't as bad as I initially expected.
 
"Thank you, sir. I should say that I'm glad for receiving this punishment, as it allowed me to realise how poor my behaviour was. To be perfectly honest, I changed so much that I cannot even recall what kind of atrocity I committed that resulted in my punishment!"
 
With over thirty years behind my belt, I didn't care about my face at all. Every single word that I directed to the guard on the other said of the bars was oozing with respect and sympathy, while my mind was actually plagued with the other problem. Thanks to all my experiences back when I only joined the organisation, this kind of words could flow out of my mouth without me controlling them, allowing me to actually think about the options that I received.
 
Even though I never really spent a lot of time playing games when compared to the generation that succeeded mine in terms of being the most hated age group across the society, it didn't mean that the obvious meaning of the last system message that I received escaped my attention.
 
Three points to spend, three different skills that I could invest those points in. With a simple calculation, I had exactly ten different ways to use the rewarded points. Three ways to focus on a single skill, one way to add a bit to all of the aspects of my skills, and exactly six different ways to level up one of the aspects while investing a single point into another one.
 
But it wasn't the way of investing those few points that puzzled me, but how the system message claimed that it would decide the initial constitution that I would receive as a reward that made this decision way harder than it should be!
 
"Oh, stop playing innocent. You should save those acting skills of yours for some worse crime than just devastating a garden of a minor sect! Although, I have to admit. If not for the academy selection going on right now, the patriarch might opt for greater punishment for you. After all, the flowers that you guys destroyed in your drunken stupor, were the flowers he grew for his daughter!"
 
Reaching towards the lock of the prison gate, the guard laughed off my attempts to keep licking his bottom. Thankfully, the rest of his words was enough to derive just what the heck did I do to deserve a sentence in a prison cell!
 
With a muted clang, the lock of the gate was undone. Instead of rushing towards the opening, I patiently waited for the guard to move aside and gesture at me to get moving. Not saying a word more, the guard left me with questioning marks potentially hanging over my head. After all, if I could see those strange messages, then there was a chance that being puzzled would result in this kind of… physically-magical reaction! Or rather, I had no grounds to say that it was impossible, meaning that there was at least a small chance that something like this could happen!
 
With no more words coming out of the guard's mouth as he started to move through the corridor, I had no other choice but to follow the man. Thanks to the short moment of silence, I could finally return with my thoughts to the problem that puzzled me from a moment ago.
 
Should I focus on a single aspect of the cleaning and pump all my points into it? Given how little I knew about the potential of each aspect, doing so was the option with both greatest risks but also with the potential greatest rewards. Once what could only be a sturdy gate opened, an intense array of lights instantly overwhelmed my eyes, blinding me in a result.

As soon as my eyes finally accustomed themselves to the new intensity of the illumination, I finally understood that this place… No, this world… Couldn't be any further from the earth!

After a few moments of simply staring at me and at the part of the room that the small torch of the guard illuminated, the man finally took a breath and spoke to me. His words, to my surprise for change, didn't contain any form of grudge or anger, filling me with the hope that whatever I did that resulted in this cell becoming my temporary home, wasn't as bad as I initially expected.

"Thank you, sir. I should say that I'm glad for receiving this punishment, as it allowed me to realise how poor my behaviour was. To be perfectly honest, I changed so much that I cannot even recall what kind of atrocity I committed that resulted in my punishment!"

With over thirty years behind my belt, I didn't care about my face at all. Every single word that I directed to the guard on the other said of the bars was oozing with respect and sympathy, while my mind was actually plagued with the other problem. Thanks to all my experiences back when I only joined the organisation, this kind of words could flow out of my mouth without me controlling them, allowing me to actually think about the options that I received.

"Oh, stop playing innocent. You should save those acting skills of yours for some worse crime than just devastating a garden of a minor sect! Although, I have to admit. If not for the academy selection going on right now, the patriarch might opt for greater punishment for you. Ethan covered his face and sighed. Celia eavesdropped on the conversation between him and Mio, leaving the latter fuming for revenge. The two bickered before him, throwing taunts at each other.

Celia winced as Mio's elbow dug into her ribs. She pushed Mio and flung back her chair, tears growing in the corner of her eyes. "Honey, she is bullying me."
Mio waved her hands at the accusation. "S-Stop lying. It was just a friendly touch."
Ethan sighed and approached them. Mio shoved the chair aside and faced him together with Celia.
"I know it's too much to ask for." Ethan spread his arms and enveloped both women in his embrace. "But please, try to get along. I can't do my best in Avalon if the two women I love are always fighting meaningless battles."
"Onii-sama, I am sorry."
"I also apologize for butting heads with her."
Ethan's pupils dilated. How did he breeze through this situation with his slightly cringy words?
"It's fine. I am also sorry for not knowing how to handle this peculiar relationship."
Celia shook her head. Her gentle fingers glided across Ethan's face. "It's my fault for barging into this house."
Mio tapped Celia's shoulder. "The mistake… is mine. I shouldn't have jinxed with the stuff about another world."
Celia narrowed her eyes. "You still think of me as a nuisance."
Mio bit her tongue and buried her face in Ethan's chest. "No, I… couldn't have helped Onii-sama on my own… thank you for that."
Mio thanked someone? Ethan rubbed his ears. The bonafide yandere—who carried blades to school and terrified almost every girl away from him—just apologized to her love interest's potential girlfriend.

Celia also held the same belief as him.
"Onii-sama, you too. Is Mio that irredeemable?" She asked, quivering in his embrace. "Trying to keep Onii-sama safe from bad girls is a good thing, right?"
Celia and Ethan shared a wry smile. He ran his fingers through Mio's soft hair and tightened his arms around her waist. Celia gently rubbed Mio's back, befuddling her further.

Mio puffed her cheeks. "Onii-sama, I am going to get angry if you don't tell me."

Humans, whose territories stretch in the South, and Elves, who reign over the East, the territory of Golden Tree. Both races are creations of the Golden Tree."
"Golden Tree?" The word evoked something in his mind. The late-night RPG sessions confused him with the lore.
"A mysterious tree whose origins are unknown. But it sought to protect both Elves and Humans on several occasions."
Golden Tree sounded like the first thing that will wither once the final boss arrives. Ethan snickered and asked Alyssia to continue.

He sighed and repeated the things he learned to Mio and Celia.
"It's a lot to process. I will write everything down," Celia said and stroked the keys, her fingers blurring.
"Onii-sama, did you ask about the winged chicken?"
Mio still hadn't let go of her grudge, nor did he.
"No, I will ask her next time."
Celia shut her laptop with a smile. "Only if I could rub Alyssia's head for the job well done."
"I will do it for you."
Ethan took off to scan everything in the room. The progress was too low.
