The long day of getting to know her roommates better had left Erin exhausted but she wasn't ready to fall asleep quite yet. She'd unpacked her clothes in the afternoon but had left arranging the rest of her personal items for when she had more quiet. It was a process she savored, putting the final touches on her own place when she was settling in somewhere new. There was something special about arranging her most important belongings in a new bedroom. 

She set her carry-on bag at the foot of the bed and pulled out her journal first of all. It was just a regular spiral notebook but because she wrote in it religiously, it was one of her most beloved possessions. She had given up on fancy, expensive journals after filling up the pages of so many, and had decided it didn't much matter what it looked like, as long as she was able to write in it. She set the journal on the little nightstand, next to the small lamp and alarm clock that had come with her room. She laid her favorite pen next to it and continued emptying her bag until the room had touches of home all around; a photo of her parents, her rosary, her stuffed Panda (Roy), her favorite perfume (Very Valentino) and her noise machine. Thankfully, she'd had the noise of the outdoors with her last night, she never slept well without the little gadget set to rainfall and creek sounds. 

She looked at the photo of her parents, and thought of the image tucked behind it-- the photo of her birth parents. It was the only photo she had of them but she cherished it. She kept it secreted behind the other photo because she didn't want to hurt her mom and dad; it also made her feel deeply sad to see the smiling young faces of the couple taken away much too young by tragedy. Erin sighed at the thought of the young pair and wondered about what Danu had said about them. What was their connection to Ireland, and what were they supposed to have told her about this so-called destiny. She thought on it a bit longer and couldn't understand how she could be of such importance that strange beings virtually kidnapped her and Olivier, and knocked him out. What if she'd never been able to study abroad? 

Growing up she had noticed that she always had a profound interest in Ireland but she'd never thought it odd. Other children would say they wanted horses when they grew up, some kids wanted to visit Disney World. Erin wanted to go to Ireland; she'd read anything she could put her hands on about it. Photo books about Ireland were her absolute favorite as a child--she was constantly checking them out from the adult non-fiction section of the library. Her parents had always encouraged her interest and so it had flourished. 

Had this destiny been that overwhelming that she had been transfixed on the Emerald Isle? She couldn't really say for sure, but she knew there was always some kind of yearning within her that drove her to constantly learn more about it. Finally, her bag was empty but for her three travel guidebooks-- one on Europe in general with listings of hostels and tourist attractions and information galore. The other two were, of course, about Ireland. Her favorite was the DK guide because it was filled to the brim with photos, historical information and everything she needed to explore every inch of this curious place. Simply thinking of the books' glossy pages made her anxious to look it over for about the 1,000th time. 

Just down the hallway, she heard Olivier finish in the bathroom and stole her chance to brush her teeth, take a quick shower and wash her face. Once that was done, she rewarded herself with her favorite pastime--reading and scouring the pages of her DK Ireland book and daydreamed about her next adventure until her daydreams slowly became actual dreams.

A young American girl follows her heart to Ireland where she discovers deeply hidden and unique connections to the island that she had never dreamed of. Upon arriving in Ireland to study, Erin feels something awaken in her she never imagined could be real.

I have some people complaining that this novel is slow, and who could blame them. 
We live in a world where people are looking for instant wish fulfillment, all they care about is an MC getting a harem, face smacking, and instant power-up.
And to me, that gets old really fast.
A story should be about adventure, mystery, characters, magic, and all those good stuff, and to make that possible, you got to build up from the groundwork. 

Hence, this Harry Potter Fan-fiction is like that and my new original work, Exalted Warlock is like that as well. So, if you do not like that, go somewhere else, and stop bitching. 

What I want is for Caelum to grow as a character, meet new people, go on adventures, solve mysteries. You can forget Harry Potter's adventure, I am not going to be like every other author who is going off Harry Potter's adventure, little timeline. Caelum, Fred, George, and who they meet along the way are doing their own things. 

Don't get the wrong idea, constructive criticism and feedback are always welcomed! I will even put that on my front page. I am new at this stuff, and I would appreciate your help along the way. No, cross that out, I love it when helpful tips and advice come my way! 

But bitching and insults are not allowed. I do not want vague stuff like this is boring or this is trash. No! you got to say this is boring because..... Or this is trash because.....

So, if you must know Caelum's adventure will take hundreds of chapters, and my new work is the same. Our MC does not even touch upon magic until some chapters. 

All in all, the reason why I got into writing is that I love a good adventure, I love a brand new world, with a sparkaling magic system. I have and I shall, till the end of times. So, that is what I want in my stories, and once again constructive criticism and feedback are always welcomed!

Constructive criticism and feedback are always welcomed!

Overwatch's 5th fleet's mothership was destroyed in War's rampage. It was the first major blow to Overwatch's moral and military since War's first attack two years ago. Mike and the rest were rescued in the second day's morning by an Overwatch dropship.  
McCree, Bernhardt, Aleksei, Genji, Mike and Kadyn were gathered at the hangar.
It was Mike's last day in Overwatch, everyone drank a glass in his honour while blessings and goodbyes were exchanged between the men. It was quite the scene filled with emotion and memories, they all shared the pain and the adventure, it was a great trip. 
Kadyn walked toward Mike's back and pocked her husband's arm with a finger.

[Mike] - "Yeah? Need anything, dear? "

[Kadyn] (shy) - "I just wanna go to the bathroom, I will be back in a minute. "

[Mike] - "Okay, don't take too long. "

[Kadyn, while walking backward] - "Wait for me here, don't wander to anywhere else, Gio "

[Mike] (with a smile) - "Hehe... I won't move, I'll be here, waiting for your return. "

Kadyn disappeared behind the wall into the washroom. 

Ten minutes passed and no sound came out of the toilet almost as if Kadyn disappeared in it. Mike started to question what's going on inside the bathroom up until suddenly, Kadyn exited the place while rubbing her hairs with both of her hands. The girl advanced toward Mike and wrapped herself around Mike's left arm with a grin. 

[Mike] - "Ready to go? "

[Kadyn] - "Yeah, I am ready to go on this adventure... "

[Mike] - "Where should we go first after we leave for good? Got any suggestions? "

[Kadyn] - "I don't know... we should probably go have some fun in England? "

[Mike] (confused) - "England? I thought you wanted to go to Venice! "

[Kadyn] - "... "

[Mike, while sniffing Kadyn's hair] - "(sniff) (sniff) Wait a minute, where's the odour of perfume on your hair and... "

[Kadyn] (nervous) - "Maybe the bathroom was stinky... Well... "

Mike rubbed his hand on Kadyn's hair and gently touched her fox ears. 

[Mike] (in a serious tone) - "Come with me! "

The young man held the girl's hand tight and made his way inside a corner. Mike analyzed her face once more and taped on the crystal on her chest with his index. 

[Mike] (in a worried and serious tone) - "I will ask you three questions, Kadyn, make sure you answer them properly. "

[Kadyn] (very nervous) - "Why are you asking questions? Is there something wrong with me? "

[Mike] (frustrated) - "Shuu! Answer me, what's your favourite snack, name one of my favourite movies and what's the name of the diamond-shaped crystal on my forearm? " 

Kadyn looked at Mike with a frightened and nervous look while a drop of sweat dripped from her forehead. She was unable to protonate a single word and kept her mouth shut as she looked in pity at Mike's cold face.

[Mike] - "Answer me... Now! "

[Kadyn] (filled with fear) - "I... My favourite snack is... chocolate... Your favourite movie is... is... your crystal name is... emperor? "

Mike abruptly grabbed Kadyn by the throat and lifted her off the ground in an expression of rage. A fire burned inside Mike's eyes as he stared coldly at her. Mike slammed the girl on the wall and using his other hand, torn one of her ears down from her head. 
No blood came out of the injured spot, the ear was a fake one.

[Mike] - "I knew it! Her favourite snack is cheesecakes, one of my favourite movies is "Godfather" and my crystal is named "The Cardinal star". You are a bloody awful spy, your skills at impersonation are just as shitty as your little act. "

[Fake Kadyn] (in fear and anger) - "Gack! Dam... Damn you... "

[Mike] - "I know Kadyn too much for someone else to impersonate her! Her perfume, her hair, her ears and her personality... I'm too familiar with them to be fooled by a low-life like you, Purple Fiction! "

[Purple Fiction (P.F.)] (in anger) - "Damn you...! Don't you dare call me a low-life! "

Without a warning, Mike pummeled the imposter's face with a barrage of punches, leaving her face bloody and ugly. 

[Mike] (in a furious voice) - "You bloody vile nauseating repelling born abomination of an atrocious pig inside a pile of puke, where did you hide her? "

[P.F.] (with joy and anger) - "I sent her to our lord and saviour, Sniper. He will take great care of her for you, Mike. "

[Mike] (enraged) - "You insane ugly-ass bitch, tell me where is she right now! "

[P.F.] - "You still kept on calling me all those names even though I asked you to stop... You human are indeed a dirty creature filled with greed... I was your servant before you got me replaced. Do you know what I had to go through during all this time? Do you? " (chapter KD-555 (kadyn) )

Mike remained in a fit of rage but stay in a calm silence as he hatefully let his frustration strangle Purple Fiction.

[P.F.] (in pain) - "You... (cough)... You have to put me down if you want me to talk! "

Mike launched the girl on the floor with all of his strength and anger. The murderous thoughts were like dark smoke behind his head, the more he thought about Kadyn, the more he wanted to murder Purple Fiction in cold blood. 

[P.F.] - "You won't get away with this, Mike! I have been given a chance to humiliate you by fate, I will get the chance to watch you die at the hands of lord Sniper... As for Kadyn, you can see her in hell! "

Purple Fiction suddenly disappeared using her invisibility powers before Mike could react. In response, Mike smashed his fist on an alarm button on the wall. 
The siren cried all around the base while all the exits doors closed all possible escapes for Purple Fiction. McCree promptly ran toward Mike and thrown his cigar away.

[McCree] - "What happened, partner? Why did you sound the alarm? " 

[Mike] (in frustration) - "Kadyn... That bitch, Purple Fiction kidnapped her! "

[McCree] - "Where is she? How does she look like? "

[Mike] - "She has 2 golden horns on her head and I punched her bloody face so look for an injured woman. "

The two men quickly headed around them in an attempt to find the escape. Mike's heart was crumbling with fear and hate every second they spend searching without result. "Where is Kadyn? ", "Is she going to be alright? " and "Is she afraid? ". Mike kept asking those questions in his mind, he was drowning once again in the shadow of his dark thoughts. 
This feeling of agony, his broken mind still in recovery and his unstable personality. Mike will never be strong enough to handle the pressure if anything happened to Kadyn. All he wanted was news, news that will bring bondages to his wounded soul. 

After a few hours of search, hope degraded like an old piece of paper. 
Mike crumbled inside a corner, his eyes bulged like blood balloons, his pulse was faster than a fatigued athlete and his hands crisped to the floor. 
McCree watched Mike from afar, he never saw the confident and caring young man so broken. 
He slowly walked toward Mike and reached his hand out to the young man.

[McCree] - "Hey, let's not give up, the others are trying to help you too. "

Mike looked at McCree for a second and with a sigh, stood up by grabbing onto McCree's hand. 

[Mike] (in an emotionless voice) - "What if she was really gone? "  

[McCree] - "Hey, don't give up, young man, don't let this pull you down to your knees, you faced challenges greater than this before! "

[Mike] - "Wait a minute, if she wanted to escape then she must be trying to find an easy exit... "

[McCree] - "We looked through every weak point of this base, she was nowhere to be found. "

[Mike] - "Unless... the reactor room, there is a ventilation exit. "

[McCree] - "What? Let's go check that out then! "

Without losing a second, both of them speedily made their way toward the reactor room. 

The emptiness was all they can find inside the reactor chamber but Mike knew that she was around. Mike looked around the place and examined the ventilation conduct with care. To his shock, 3 of the bolts were snatched from the seal to the conduct. Purple Fiction was already trying to exit from the ventilation system. She was one bolt away from managing her escape. 
All of sudden, both McCree and Mike heard light footsteps behind them but by turning their head, there was no one behind them. 
Mike looked around him and with his power, made a small glass jar using an exit panel. 

[Mike] (in a hurry) - "McCree, I need you to pee in this jar! "

[McCree] (confused) - "What? Why would you think of something like this? "

[Mike] - "That's a familiar recipe, that's a tactic we use when we are dealing with invisibility. "

[McCree] (confused) - "What? How's pee in a jar gonna help us find her? "

[Mike] - "For fuck's sake, McCree, just fucking do it! "

[McCree] - "What kind of fucked-up trick is this? "

McCree turned around all emptied his bladder inside the small jar.

[Mike] - "Come on, quickly! "

[McCree] - "I'm definitively taking you to a doctor after this! "

McCree handed the jar of piss to Mike and the young man looked around him. He waited for a sound, breathing and a movement in calm and readiness. 
Suddenly, Mike launched the jar his right.

[Mike] - "JARATE! "

The glass jar exploded on the wall and the yellow liquid soaked Purple Fiction wet. 

[P.F.] (in confusion) - "Wha... what... don't tell me... AAARGH, EW EW EW! OMG, you sick man! "

McCree busted in laughter while he watched the girl trying helplessly to wipe the urine off her face.

[Mike] - "You are just the shittest spy I ever encountered in my entire existence... Good grief, I will give you 30 seconds to tell me where Kadyn's at. "

[P.F.] - "No, this humiliation... You dirty man, you son of a bitch! "

[Mike] - "20 seconds left, you piss stinking little shit! "

[P.F.] - "Hehe, hehe, hahaha! "

[Mike] (in anger) - "What's so funny, dumbass? "

[P.F.] - "Because even if I tell you, you won't be able to catch up to her again. "

[Mike] (in a panic and frustration) - "What the fuck do you mean by that bullshit? "

[P.F.] - "During all this time you guys were trying to find me, she was already delivered to a secret location. "

[Mike] - "Then where is that fucking place, you dirty ass little shit? "

[P.F.] - "Like hell, I would know! You have lost, Mike, you had what you deserved, you had what people like you deserved! All hail lord Sniper, all hail mother justice. "

[Mike] (unable to hold the rage inside him) - "You... You... filthy little fuck... YOU HAVE GENUINELY PISSED ME OFF! "

Mike stabbed Purple Fiction in the chest with his hand and then proceeded to slam her body against the boiling hot generator's cooling tube. Finally, in a fit of rage, Mike launched her down the reactor shaft and watched her fall until he couldn't see her shadow. 
Mike stood motionless for a few minutes while McCree watched the young man with a sorry look. Droplets of tear dropped from his eyes while he contained the rage and sorrow exploding inside his heart.

[McCree] - "Mike, it's okay, we will find her... "

[Mike] (in tear) - "Leave me alone, McCree... I need some time alone... "

The young man walked out of the reactor chamber without a word. He looked down on the floor, remembered all the promises he made toward his wife and let another tear of sorrow fall from his eye. The hallways were empty, so was his heart. 
While he walked slowly inside the long corridor, his mouth opened and the young man started to sing a song he remembered.

[Mike] (in pain) - "Is this the real life, is this just fantasy? Caught in a landslide. No escape from reality, open your eyes, look up to the skies and see... "

[Mike] (in sorrow) - "I'm just a poor boy, I need no sympathy because I'm easy come, easy go, little high, little low. "

[Mike] (emotionless) - "Any way the wind blows doesn't really matter to meee, to meee... "

Mike continued his way down the hall while singing his pain away.

A single mistake could mean endless consequences. The day where a difficult reality presented itself in front of Mike, the young man wasn't ready to face it; he foolishly tried to escape a fate attached to him by blood. Bound by the chain of fate to become another tyrant to the world, what kind of future awaits the man with a corrupt golden heart? A dimensional rift opened on a lower level world as a young man in silver robes, with silver hair and silver eyes stepped onto the world.

"Ah, it's going to take time to get used to having a body"

Stepping forward, a flash appeared in his eyes as he recalled something. Waving his hand a reflection of the universe he stepped in almost resembling a star chart appeared in the air.
'Young one, no need to panic it's me. I have no  ill intentions by coming here, so I advise you not to send your gods and goddesses to confront me, considering if I wished, I could wipe you from existance with only a mere thought. Let alone those that represent your will. I am contacting you right? Already proof enough I mean no harm.'

Every universe has similar universal laws, so, for the oldest universe that now has a body, it's no hassle figuring out any different laws than his own. So on this topic, usually a powerful entity would be weakened in another's domain even if they are weak. That is true, but it doesn't apply to universes, well, at least universes that are older can freely mess with a younger universe without any difficulties (sending random people to be reincarnated in another universe with a cheat system, is a way for older universes to bully younger universes..) it's even more noticeable with Shen Mu. He is not interfering with a younger universe, since he has a body, he is able to enter and live within a younger universe. A universe in the shape of a human, living in a younger universe, and the younger universe can't restrict his power or kick him out.. 

Older universes get a kick out of making things difficult for younger universes.. Shen Mu is passed that stage, but even he got a twinkle in his eyes when he felt the younger universe weep like a little brother being picked on by his older brother, well, the equivalent of a universe's crying...

Shen Mu closed his eyes as he scanned all the lower worlds, laughing as he found some familiar names. 
"The world of maruto? Berry tail? Pleach? It appears this universe was created by the leaking power of imagination from the life forms of other universes, since a lot of these worlds I don't recognize.."

Laughing even louder, he slapped his knee, "Seriously? This youngster named this world I am on 'Typical Xianxia World'? A universe created by leaking imagination power, interesting indeed.."

Lifting off into the sky, Shen Mu vanished as he appeared on the outskirts of a large city.

"First stop in this world, time to try out some food myself, just memories alone from the lives of my children doesn't do food justice.."

A sad look briefly appeared in his eyes as he walked to the city, getting more and more excited about the foods he can try.

'About those other worlds created from anime, manga, manhua, manhwa, and web/light novels, I will not be visiting those, this isn't a fan-fiction after all, right author?'


A: Right, not a fan-fiction. Continue with your journey, slow down a bit at least, it's a pain typing at the speed of your adventure, my writing quality is suffering..

"Sorry author, no can do, I plan on enjoying as much as a can, as fast as I can, I have been patient since the beginning of everything, now I will be impatient, so try to keep up!"

Waving at the void, Shen Mu quickly arrived at the city, refusing to adventure slower, therefore harming my writing quality...

First a note to readers of my other novels: My releases for Potion Maker have slowed immensly because of a mental block, a mental block caused by all these web novel Ideas flooding my mind. Oh, I also plan on redoing Bread System, I want to adjust the four chapters so I can resume typing it.

Just like Bread System, this isn't my main novel, so the release rate will be slow.. Well, only if I am wrestling with my own mind, otherwise I'll try to release regularly once a week. Hopefully typing this will help clear my mind so I can put out more chapters for Potion Maker. 
-This will be typed using my phone, so excuse the occasional misstypes, I'll try to catch any that appear-

A universe, the oldest amongst all in existence has started to lose stability. Not in a bad way, no, it had a massive surge of power as it was raising to a level no universe has ever risen before.

What would the gains be? An energy hundreds of times stronger than primordial chaos with a hundred times more purity. A better environment for the lifeforms inhabiting it, and more resources for them to gain more power, if they can pass the universe's tests in the form of the usual heavenly tribulations. Otherwise they lose their life, or cultivation, or become a vegetable.. Well, the universe is fair, but has to maintain balance as well. It can't have everyone becoming immortal, right?

Because the universe rose to a level that never existed before, it started to collapse inwards. It was about to fail.

That was until, the very center of the universe, which is the will of the universe, its mind so to speak, slammed into the corpse of a fifteen year old young man, and merged with the boy's body.

This caused the universe to collapse inwards as a whole and be absorbed by the boy's body.

After the body reconstructed, the universe successfully gained it's own body, and prevented the lifeforms it once created from dying meaningless deaths.

Instead they all died and like the universe itself, planets, lifeforms, energies, all souls, and knowledge, became one with the young man's body.

The universe was named Father Of All, for he started existence itself. Now gaining a body, he took the name Shen Mu.

"This was the only way to prevent a total reset, I managed to keep everything and the new level of power.. The deaths of my children, they can live through me... You haven't died in vain.."

The eyes of Shen Mu reflected a vast universe as he opened a rift to the youngest universe in existence.

"First I will have some adventures of my own, then I will rebuild what I once had. My children might not have lived all they could have, but the will play apart in my creating of something even greater!"


This was written on a whim, I may fix the synapsis later. But this is the gist of it, and I don't need to write a prologue now do I?

Yesterday was a very bad terrible no good day.

And some days will just be like that I suppose. It's not like I can physically sweep the fear and anxieties away permanently. They were kind of traumatic.

My disappearance most certainly gave grampa a scare though. He'll be heading off to join the rest of the nobles and politicians at the conference but his special personal troops are stationed here. They're not directly staying in the mansion with us but nearby and around the servants quarters.

Not only will they be in charge of protecting us very desirable and ransom worthy children, but they'll also be jump-starting us with weapons training!

Finally!

I've been set up with tutors but not weapons or fighting instructors yet. Though the educational tutors were assigned after it was discovered that I read so much of our family's home library. Did I really now? Who would honestly believe that, besides my own father? I'm beginning to doubt his sanity for taking a toddler so seriously. 

Out of boredom, I kept pestering father to stock more interesting books. No one reads finances, tax records, nor old family trees for fun. As I said before the entertainment of this world is extremely lacking.

I also think that most of those popular adventure books are based on grampa, which then just makes it too awkward to read. Just plain creepy. You try reading tweaked fan fiction about a grandparent of yours!

You know what else is awkward?

Since I woke up Lilyanne has been stuck attached to me and refuses to let go. She's scared I'll disappear for real after yesterday. It was just one day, sheesh let it go.

That's not too unexpected knowing Lilyanne, still as clingy as ever. No the really awkward part is that the stupid prince is in on it too! Is this his way of sticking to Lilyanne and annoying me? It's absolutely disgusting.

The poor stupid rock of a child probably has no idea he's getting engaged to me, otherwise, he wouldn't be so close. Eww.

That future announcement is not one I'll be looking forward to.

While we're lead to the prepared garden area for our first lesson plan I contemplate how Father's doing with the plan. After imagining the mess that is the court, I suppose that staying here even with Lilyanne and the stupid prince in tow isn't as bad.

The guest instructor that will be in charge of us today is part of Grampa's crew of course. 

Uncle Geoff is still back home in our territory managing both his estate and the campgrounds. In the past, he's the one that started our weapons training and I expected that would be the case this time as well.

It must have been my actions, or well lack of them yesterday, that changed things.

Not only that but grampa knows about my consciousness, how I'm not an average toddler. I don't know how but he's proven multiple times that he knows. He may be arranging for my training early in that case. Why not take advantage of the time? Yes, that would be the most reasonable explanation.

Years ago, a lifetime ago, we were first trained in small daggers, subtle safe enough weapons and eventually moved on to fencing. Those were deemed appropriate and fit into the hobbies that a young noblewoman could have or easily conceal. Lessons were dabbling in other 'arts', such as horseback riding or poison making. Those were the ones that Rosalia took best to besides the main weapons we focused on

Again when I say 'we' it actually was just me most of the time.

Lilyanne was excused and absent from so many training sessions she may as well have never attended. I don't think she even knew what to do past the form for holding a saber, even if it was the lightest and thinnest foil.

But that was fine, Lilyanne wouldn't need it. Ever. She had no need knowing how to fight. Not when everyone would always protect her. Even me.

A bitterness wells up in the back of my throat, not unlike vomit bile. I don't even try to deny it's part jealousy. How nice it must be to not ever have to fear for your life, to work for your survival? How luxurious.

It's a luxury I can't afford, not for a long time.

So I take the introduction, any part of training really, seriously. Instead of one instructor, it's a small crew of people, a team currently close to gramps in running dungeons and accompanying him. The majority of the section of troops he took with him is encamped while his closest bodyguards are with him at the conference. But these guys are nothing to mess around with. I recognize a good number of them, the kind of people to stick around the family through the years. The kind of people to keep.

They will introduce us to various easier weapons. We'll get an introduction and feel for them before starting with the popular and classic swordplay of this world.

Before that, we'll be running a set of physical tests. It's P.E essentially, we're going to stretch and run.

Sounds more like summer camp honestly. 

"Lukas, Amar, show them how it goes!"

"We'll be over here supervising and preparing. The kids will learn better around those close in age to them."

"Yes, ma'am!"

The kids from yesterday are the youngest ones in this campaign. I remember now how they were also in grampa's training camp back south. Their youthful presence awes Lilyanne and Erik. Kids not much older than them can become warriors? What an amazing concept! The stupid battle crazy prince is already starry-eyed.

"Hey there little squirts, I'm the awesome Lukas. And this here is my not as cool but still good friend Amar."

When asked they tell us that they are only 3 years older than me, at the age of 5. Normally that wouldn't be such a big deal, right? To children, the 3-year difference in maturity and such may seem immense but it's nothing in the eyes adults.

Wrong.

Of course, that's wrong, what 5 year old becomes enlisted in the deadliest training corps in the known world?

Anyone, child or not taken to personally train with grandpa can't be simple. If I know grampa's recruiting style, to get in his circles especially so young, you either have to have vast potential to be powerful or you have a tragic backstory to unlock that. Often they have both, what a combo.

That's why he's so popular with the common people even till now. Grampa is well acquainted with and even helped jump-start many famous heroes and adventurers in their own right. Smiles and glory aside these people are not common, nor did they lead very charmed lives prior to fame.

These kids are dangerous. not just because one of them will be instrumental in my very own death.

What action can I take against them right now?

Do I get rid of them? Recruit them? Just ignore them?

They run us through the P.E exercises with the manner of older kids taking care of their younger siblings. They're so natural and disarming about it that Lilyanne and Eric are already completely comfortable with them. Even calling them 'big brothers".

Can't be helped, they're just children and I'm stuck playing one. 

It's especially surprising how animated Lukas is about it, he doesn't strike me as the type to play baby sitter. While they pay attention and joke around with all of us, with the concentration no normal 5 year old should have may I add, Lukas is especially focused on the stupid little prince.

Ah, I see.

He's my damned cousin Phillip's friend too. So he's a social climber, is he? 

Buddying it up to the prince of a northern country wouldn't be a bad choice. Now that I can look at him carefully without panicking, the boy is most likely Northern himself given his overly pale coloring and straight slim nose. I don't have the patience to bother telling him to give it up, that prince cares for no one. No one but Lilyanne perhaps.

You can try to warm up to him now as a baby but I've seen the robot-like person he grows up into.

"And bend and stretch! Good job you almost got it!"

"I think we're almost done here, sir!"

The stupid prince is still dazzled though, especially by Lukas who gives him extra care and praise. How stupid, in the future plenty of strong people will try to worm their way to you. It strange seeing Erik like this, so unguarded and more excusably stupid than usual. It's even a little amusing.

"You girls did really well too, especially you Rosalia. I hope you're feeling better."

Oh yeah, the kid found me passed out in a bush and carried my crying ass home. A little dopey but he's not an unkind kid I'll give him that. It warrants a polite response, at the very least more than Lukas. I don't remember this one in the crew trying to kill me.

"Yes I'm feeling much better, thank you. I apologize for the unfortunate first impression."

"Ah, that's the most you've said to me so far! Still, don't smile much do you? Still, you're so little but know so many words, you must be very smart!"

"Yep Rosa knows lots!" cheers Lilyanne, aww it almost warms my heart enough to forgive her for being so sticky. Almost, not quite. 

"Thank you for the praise, and again thank you. I must ask and trust though that yesterday's matters be kept quiet."

It's embarrassing, no one further needs to know my shame. Especially Lilyanne, she's oddly worried about me since I came back last night. Which may be why she's been sticking to me, and thus Erik too.

"Okay then, it will be just between us."

"Eh, Rosa I wanna be in tween to. Rosa?"

It's too embarrassing, the less Lilyanne knows the better. In fact the less that anyone knows, the better. I nod to the older boy and keep my mouth shut.

"Alright then kiddos, we'll be having our first demonstration with swords. This is the weapon you probably see the most."

"Mmm! Papa an grandpapa have swords!"

"I have one too!"

The baby stupid prince waves around his wooden toy sword, which appeared from out of nowhere. Where was he even keeping that thing during exercises?

I don't know how useful those things are actually in real combat, just doesn't seem all the feasible to me. But then again I'm from a different time and a different world. When in Rome do as the Romans do.

We're lead through the basics such as holding, stance, and attack types, very Day 1 sort of material. It's adorable how even Lilyanne is giving it a try, though I know it won't stick. There's also how she keeps falling back on her butt? That'....awkward, adorable but awkward. 

Erik though is an arrogant little prat even as a baby. He stomps his feet impatiently and in an attempt to show off waves around the demonstration with his toy sword. Oh, he's definitely showing off since he expectingly looks back at my sister and me right after.

Don't expect any praise here, Lily is too bust trying to get back up and I sure as hell am not going to talk to the baby stupid prince.

"That's all easy stuff! Of course, I already know how to do all of that, I'm the prince!"

I can't believe I was seriously going to marry this kid in the future, even for duty. I died for it but damn, dodged a bullet there.

The instructor, a bulky young man, looks at him with a tired sigh reserved for when dealing with nobles. You know the kind you make at work when handing annoying customers while they're being unreasonable.

"Yes your majesty, but there's a lot to master in the basics. Without the foundations, the following layers you learn will be weak."

"I'm not weak!"

"Hehe, sir Malcolm, can I teach him the lesson?!" a loud boy giggles and waves excitedly, like a cat ready to play with its food. The cat sitter sighed but looked ready since the mouse, aka the stupid prince, was more annoying. 

"*Sigh*....sure Lukas, why not. That's what you're good for I suppose. Just don't bully him too badly."

"Big brother Lukas?!" gasped the stupid prince in both awe and surprise. 

"So squirt, I won't talk much. Just fight me and that will do the talking."

"A duel! My first duel?! I gladly accept and will show you my skill!"

"Show me then you spoiled little squirt."

Now, this is what I'm talking about, Oh this will be amusing to watch, especially if a certain stupid prince gets beat to the ground. Please, Lukas, I'll even up my impression of you if you make that stupid prince eat some dirt!

Once upon a time, blah blah blah a boy and a girl fell love and everything was beautiful and perfect, except for this thing called life getting in their way. 

He was this cool foreign prince and she was basically perfect. Really it's a very boring run of the mill story. I'll even spoil it for you, they kill the villainess at the end.

Not the type of story I'd read personally.


So where do I fit into this?

Apparently I'm her older twin sister and the very very lucky fiance to the foreign prince. You know, the dead villainess? Sucks I know.

So after spending my time being an Avid Amine, Manga, Light Novel enthusiast, I believe it is the time!

I started writing an original back in 2019 Called the Blood Monarch a lot of things put that on the back burner but now it is the time for it to shine!

Tyler looked at the lever trying to estimate if it could answer his questions immediately after finalizing his plan he pulled the lever and a blue goo liquid appeared taking shape of a female kehan her face that looked like a porcelain doll her eyes had fitted a porcelain doll with a bright blue mixed with purple the "hello young master Alex how may I be of service and I hope you like this form it is the one best chosen suitable for your race," the doll had said "hello miss doll I'm not my older brothers my name is Tyler I'm 4 years old," Tyler said.

Georgia woke up, it felt like only yesterday that she fell asleep but she knows back on Earth it's the beginning of May.  She woke up the boys and yelled "history time!"
"What time is it?" Jacob asked.
"I think it's 7 in the morning," replied Georgia.
Once the kids walked out of the sleeping quarters they were greeted by the receptionist who lead them to the history class.

"Good morning students," said the teacher, "I am Mr. Waag, your history teacher.  Unlike Mr. Hamlet, I will be starting off with something simple, and speaking of the devil here he is."  Mr. Waag walked over to the door and opened it and asked Mr. Hamlet why he is interrupting his class.
"Do you have any newspapers about Elginburg?" Asked Mr. Hamlet.
"Oh yes I do, but there's not a lot of them though.  Are you looking for the news report about how students from Elginburg Public School made a petition on the banning of plastic bags in 2019?" Mr. Waag Said.
"No, It's about," Mr. Hamlet glanced at Grenville and whispered something in Mr. Waag's ear.
"So you think that thing is in Elginburg?" Whispered Mr. Waag.  Mr. Hamlet nodded, he went into Mr. Waag's office and started searching through boxes of newspapers. 
"Sorry about that class, now back to the history topic of today."  Mr. Waag wrote "the history of Minecraft" on the board and said "today we will be learning about Minecraft! Minecraft was created in 2009 by Hatsune Miku.  Minecraft was actually called The Cave Game, but Hatsune later changed it to Minecraft."
Georgia raised her hand, "what is Minecraft?" 
"Good question, Minecraft is a video game, and a video game is something that you put into a TV or download on a computer or a mobile device.  It's basically a mix between a movie and a board game,'' explained Mr. Waag, "anyway, In 2010 Hatsune Miku began the beta stage, she even quit her day job to work on Minecraft! In 2011 Minecraft was complete, selling millions of copies worldwide.  On September 15th, 2014 Microsoft bought Minecraft for 2.5 billion dollars! Microsoft put Minecraft into their consoles and later made versions for PlayStation and Wii U.  Later on there were three spinoffs for Minecraft, Minecraft Story Mode, Minecraft Education Edition, and Minecraft Dungeons.  Around the year 2018 Microsoft made Minecraft Bedrock Edition, a version of Minecraft that supports cross platforms," Mr. Waag Educated. 
"And that's it?" Questioned Georgia.
"Nope! On March 4th, 2022 Minecraft the movie was played in theatres. In 2019 Pewdiepie started making Minecraft content again, which revived the game.  There's loads more stuff that you can find in your textbooks," Explained Mr. Waag.  The students began to read their textbooks.  
After about five minutes Mr. Waag announced that the students were allowed to play Minecraft on the iPads, so the students grabbed the iPads and started playing.  After a couple of hours of playing Minecraft, Mr. Waag dismissed the class.
Mr. Waag went into his office and saw Mr. Hamlet reading a newspaper article on the floor.  "Any Luck?"
"Yes! I found evidence that Elginburg is the place where the machine is located," Mr. Hamlet exclaimed, "in this article, it says that the principal was acting childish and making stuff like a Fortnite quiz and putting an Xbox One S in every classroom, so she has to be controlled by a child."
"So how are you going to get there? And also you still need to teach these kids all they need to know about... whatever it is you teach."
"Easy! I will remove spiritual studies class from the curriculum and go to Elginburg through a portal!"
"What year are you going to?"
"Since this article was made in May of 2018, then I will go to June of 2018!"  
Mr. Hamlet got off the floor and rushed towards The Boss's office.  Once he got there he declared that the spiritual studies class should be removed from the curriculum.
"But why? Your class is so important," stated The Boss.
"Do you really think it's important? Name one thing that spiritual studies will grant these children,'' questioned Mr. Hamlet.
"It will give them a deeper awareness of themselves," answered The Boss.
"Maybe fighting and martial arts would be a good replacement, that class would teach the children valuable stuff that will help them if they encounter an enemy," Mr. Hamlet declared.
"Ok, maybe I will replace spiritual studies with martial arts.  But if Mr. and Ms. Tapscott do not want to teach martial arts, then you will continue to teach spiritual studios," approved The Boss.  Mr. Hamlet left his office. 
Mr. Hamlet went over to Shara Erskine's desk and asked her to teleport him to Elginburg.  Shara led him over to the portal and entered the date June 23rd, 2019 even though he wanted June 23rd, 2018.  The portal appeared and Mr. Hamlet walked through.

Mr. Hamlet was in a sorta small room where a girl who looked like she was in 8th grade was sleeping.  She had sorta brown skin and black hair.  She woke up, screamed, and pointed at Mr. Hamlet.  Mr. Hamlet dashed downstairs where there was a convenience store.  Mr. Hamlet unlocked the door and ran outside and up the road.

 The kids were done with their history class.  
"What do we do now?" Asked Ben.
"Maybe we can go to the library," suggested Georgia.
"Only you would be interested in going to the library," rebuked Jacob.
"You sure about that, maybe someone else would be interested in going to the library with me," argued Georgia.
"I will go with you," volunteered Ben.
"What about you, Grenville?" Georgia asked.
"Sure, I think it would be fun," Grenville responded. 
Jacob was pretty upset that Grenville and Ben are going to the library, so he sighed, "I guess I will tag along."

When they entered the library they were greeted with bookshelves almost as tall as the Canadian Tire Centre (a hockey stadium in Ottawa) that were full as a coffee mug overflowing with coffee.  An old lady walked up to the kids and greeted them.
"Hello, are you guys looking for anything in particular?" Asked the old lady.
"I usually read science fiction, do you have any books of that genre," requested Georgia.
"Oh yes we do," the old lady took out a book called XavviY by Eathen Jones and handed it to Georgia, "it's about a space warrior who tries to get into the space version of WWE and win lots of money."
"I will give it a try," Georgia accepted the book from the old lady.
"What are you boys interested in?" The old lady put her attention to Ben, Grenville, and Jacob.  Ben and Grenville said they wanted to read whatever Georgia was reading.
"What about you?" The old lady asked Jacob.
"I don't read," replied Jacob.
"You mean you have never read a book in your life?" Georgia snapped.
"Yup," Jacob said.
"Would you like to try to read a book?" The old lady suggested.
"Sure," Jacob accepted the lady's offer.  She gave him Andrew's Loose Tooth by Robert Munsch.
The kids sat at a table and started to read their books.  Jacob was laughing uncontrollably, so Georgia reminded him that he was in a library and he has to be quiet so people can read.  After an hour or two Georgia, Ben, and Grenville were finished with their books, while Jacob just finished reading every single Robert Munsch book that ever existed.  
Georgia went over to the old lady and asked if there was a book on the history of Bacton, and the lady said yes and gave her a very thick book called The History Of Bacton From The Start Of Time Till 1938 by Victor Wellmen.  Georgia said thanks to the old lady and the kids headed off to their sleeping quarters.

Georgia sat on her bed reading the very thick book that the old lady gave her, while the boys were talking about how the people here have information about the future.
"It's because they have time machines," Georgia interrupted.
"How do you know?" Asked Jacob.
"Because it was mentioned in the very first chapter of The History Of Bacton From The Start Of Time Till 1938, the creator gave the people of Bacton the ability to time travel, the creator also left behind a very powerful sword that can give the user instructable armour that can survive an attack from a canon, but no one has found the sword yet," Georgia educated.
"Now that's cool," exclaimed Ben.
"Indeed it is, rumours say it's hidden in a cave somewhere, but they're just too lazy to go see for themselves," Georgia informed, she then yawned, "I am going to bed."
So then the kids went to bed.

—————-June 1st, 8:00 am (Earth time)—————

Georgia woke up and stretched, she got off her bed and woke the boys up.  They walked outside and asked The Boss which class they would be in, and The Boss told them they would be going to Welding Class, which was down the hall and to the left.  The kids thanked him and walked down the hall and took a left.
The room looked like a very messy garage, there were piles of random stuff on shelves, a very tall roof, and a bunch of woodworking benches.
"Hello, children," a man with grey, messy hair, with goggles over his hair, wearing a brown coat and jeans with lots of stains on them, appeared out of a door, "My name is Robert Simpson, but you can call me Mr. Simpson."
"What are we going to do today?" Asked Georgia Walsh, she was leaning against her woodworking bench.
"We are going to make a portable time machine, P.T.M for short," Mr. Simpson responded. 
"What is Georgia going to make?" Asked Jacob.
"Did you hear him, we are going to make a P.T.M," Georgia answered Jacob's dumb question.
"Oh, I thought you were going to make something different," Jacob continued, but Georgia knew Jacob was about to make sexist comments towards her so she picked up a wrench and was about to use it as a weapon against Jacob, Jacob quickly apologized.
"The materials needed to make a P.T.M can be found on your bench's," Mr. Simpson began the lesson, "You should see a calculator, a broken keyboard, a computer chip, and a UNO Reverse Card."  
The kids found the stuff he just mentioned on their woodworking benches.  Mr. Simpson told them the first step to make a P.T.M, which is to carefully take out the computer chip out of the calculator and put in the UNO Reverse Card and put on the other computer chip on top of the card.  The next step was to replace all the fancy math buttons on the calculator with the letters from the broken keyboard, and then the P.T.M was done.
"Now, in order to find what we need for our next project, which will be in November, you guys need to go back in time to April 23rd, 1900, where you would hopefully find a metal cube," Mr. Simpson instructed.  
The kids set their P.T.Ms to April 23rd, 1900 and hit the "=" button on their P.T.M's, they disappeared from the room.  They reappeared in a less cluttered version of the room they were in. 
"Guys, I think they are still sleeping, maybe we can go to Earth and get that metal cube," whispered Georgia.
"How do you know the metal cube is on Earth?" Asked Jacob.
"Because I have a feeling," answered Georgia.
"What if you're wrong," asked Jacob.
"We will try to find it somewhere else," replied Georgia.
Jacob laughed, "ok then, maybe you and Ben can go to Earth while I and Grenville try to find it here."
Georgia and Ben walked out of the room and down the hallway where they remember the portal being.  They then found the portal, it was set to The Nature Museum in Ottawa, Canada.  Georgia and Ben walked in.
They were standing in front of a building (which was currently being built, but luckily there were no construction workers there) in the middle of a farm field (which had no crops).
"Let's go and find our cube," said Georgia.
They ran inside the building.  Ben said it could be upstairs, so that's where they checked first.  Georgia was looking through a bunch of boxes while Ben was looking at every nook and cranny of the upstairs floor.
"I think I found it!" Georgia pulled out a tiny metal cube out of a box.
Then suddenly a woman fell from the sky, crashing onto the ground, breaking a bunch of soon-to-be stairs.  The lady had long brown hair and she looked like she was 13 years old, she was wearing a T-shirt that had Shrek's face on it and she also had blue jeans on.
"Where do you think she is from?" Ben asked Georgia as he looked down from the second floor.
"Judging by her clothes she is probably from the 21st century, let's go see if she's ok."  
They both went downstairs.  Georgia sat down beside her, she was unconscious.  Georgia slapped her across the face, then the girl jumped up to her feet and screamed at Georgia.
"W-why the h**l would you do that? Who the h**l are you people???" Stuttered the girl.
"I am Georgia Walsh and this is my friend Ben Eadens," Georgia introduced, "what's your name?" 
"I am Piper Fennel, now I would be going soon," she searched her pocket, then panicked, "where is it?"
"Where is what?" Georgia asked.
"The UNO Reverse card, it's sorta like a transportation device thingy, and now I have losted it! I will never get back home!" Piper Fennel started to cry.
"What does it look like?" Asked Ben.
"It has a red background and two arrows that are in a circle," Piper Fennel described, "now let's find it!" 
The kids searched everywhere for it, under tables, inside boxes, even outside the soon-to-be Museum.  Ben found it five minutes later under a bunch of rocks and minerals inside a box labelled "Rock Exhibit."  Ben also took an amethyst and put it inside his pocket.  
"Thank you so much, Ben," Piper Fennel thanked, "and I am sorry if I made a bad impression on myself, I am usually a calm and caring person.  I hope to run into you guys in the future."  Piper Fennel held the UNO Reverse card against a wall and she and the card disappeared in the blink of an eye.
"Well she was fun," Georgia said, "now let's get back to Bacton!" Georgia and Ben ran out of the Museum and ran back into the portal, which disappeared as soon as they entered it. 

Ben and Georgia ran back into the Welding Classroom, which was very messy.
"Guess what we found!" Georgia screamed with excitement.
"What, nothing?" Jacob teased.
Georgia showed Jacob the tiny metal cube in her hand, "the metal cube!"
"What?!? How come it wasn't here??" Jacob was confused 
"Well, It wouldn't be fun if we just had to search some shelves and not go on an adventure to get the cube," Georgia explained, "and also, you two should clean up this room."
"Wait, that's not fair!!!" Argued Jacob.
"Well, you two technically made the mess, so you guys should clean it up," Georgia argued back.
"But wasn't this room already messy and unorganized," Jacob said 
"No, it was clean when we went back in time.  You two were probably the reason why it was messy in our present time," Georgia stated, Ben agreed with her.
"Fine, we will clean up," Jacob sighed, and then he and Grenville started cleaning.
"Alright Ben, let's go forward in time!" Georgia and Ben both dialled in "June 1st, 1938, 9:00 AM" and then hit the "=" button.

"That was quick," Mr. Simpson said, "wait, where are the others?"
"They are cleaning the Wielding Classroom," Georgia responded.
"Wait," Mr. Simpson looked around the room, "it's already clean, they should be back here."
Then both Jacob and Grenville appeared in the middle of the room.
Mr. Simpson sighed with relief, "thank goodness you two are alright.  Class dismissed."
The kids said bye to Mr. Simpson and headed out the door.

The kids were sitting on a picnic bench outside the headquarters (which is where their sleeping quarters are, the portal place is, and where the kids go to school and where most people work).
"What do you guys want to do?" Asked Georgia.
"We can watch a movie," suggested Ben.
"Or we can steal some stuff," Jacob added in.
Georgia, Ben, and Grenville looked at him and said "no."
"But where will we watch the movie?" Asked Grenville.
"Maybe Mr. Waag has a television or something," Georgia said.
"He probably does! Let's go ask him!" Ben agreed with Georgia's idea.  The kids started to walk to Mr. Waag's classroom.
They walked into Mr. Waag's classroom and asked if he had a TV, which he said yes and allowed them to watch a few films in his office, which had a very big sofa and a flat-screen TV with FlimFlix, a streaming platform with almost every movie and TV show on it.
"What do you guys want to watch?" Georgia asked.
"I don't care," said Grenville.
Georgia started scrolling down the selection of films and shows till something caught Jacob's eye.
"What's that?" Asked Jacob.
"What's what?" Georgia stopped scrolling.
"That movie right there!" Jacob pointed to The Emoji Movie.  Georgia, Ben, and Grenville were confused because they didn't know why the main characters were just heads with arms, hands, legs, and feet (except for one character, which was basically a hand with legs)
"I don't know, let's check the reviews," Georgia said.  She saw that it only had 3 stars so she clicked off the movie and searched for something else to watch.  "How about this??" Georgia clicked on a TV show called Stranger Things.
"Sure, it might be good," said Ben.
They then watched all four seasons of Stranger Things.  Once the final episode was over Georgia suggested that they should go to bed, and so they did.

She still couldn't believe that he was still in the game. She wanted him so badly. It was becoming increasingly difficult to not go over to his office, just to see if she could detect any suspicion. The rush of excitement was almost unbearable. She decided to answer his questions but she was worried that she may slip something in her responses, either purposely or not, to lead him to her.

Having sent her email, she forced herself away from the computer. The day brought an unmanageable amount of tasks to be completed in an unrealistic amount of time. This "to-do" list may have been "doable" if she wasn't so distracted. She kept picturing his rugged face, his slender body and those oh so talented hands. She didn't know that by mid-afternoon, she had an email waiting for her. She received her narrative paragraph. 

"Every February on or near Valentine's Day, candy and suggestive notes to instructors are sent; I got mine this afternoon. A while back, one such recipient attempted to respond, guessed wrong, alarmed a student, thoroughly embarrassed himself, and was censured by the administration. Hmmm, no risk, eh? Another recipient (horribly afflicted with humour-impairment, I'll grant) guessed right but misread the intent alarmingly. Oops. From time to time, I, like many instructors, am given to understand that certain...possibilities...exist. These...communications...run the gamut from bizarre to disturbed to benign to very infrequently intriguing--and please don't misunderstand: I'm not speaking solely of flirtatious content; in fact, it's most often not. My difficulties lie in discerning differences, understand?

You make assertions and stand on them as fact. You have anonymity and reveal only what you wish. You know all, and I'm left to guess everything. I can accede to your anonymity, I can do without your name, I'm not looking for "clues." But one-sided, disembodied, random erotic musings? These kids today, what do they call it? Keeping it real? Yeah, that sounds good, Miss Smart(ie) Panties, reality; you are real, right? Convince me, prove it--that intelligence what makes you so attractive. And your panties anywhere--but especially on the floor by your bed--aren't scary. It's 'em old jockstraps scare the bejeezus outta me. Why has the typeface changed? Reportcard says you play well with others? Well then, play fair, give a little; show, don't tell.

"Wow" she thought to herself. "I hadn't thought that this would be scary." She didn't know how to reveal herself to him without literally revealing herself. She had to come up with a solution or risk him dropping out of the fun. 

"This was to be fun. Not scary. I didn't have any clue to the problems that would exist with this. Star-crossed I guess. Ha-Ha said the sky indeed. 

So many issues, so little bandwidth. I can't do anything about your phobias. I could send you a picture and claim it is I. Each one of those "episodes" could have been avoided by not taking action. So much drama... Keep this up and you may need to prove to me that you aren't female. I had no idea I had a thing for men with gay followings, first Henry Rollins, now you.

It's a gamble, solely on your part. That's why I asked for help with a story, and maybe a little character development. This would give you a level of distance. If I wanted non-fiction, I would have tapped you on the shoulder, ergo, no show.

She paced and fretted and paced some more. She didn't know if he'd received her email yet or even if he'd respond. She wanted to find out when his offices hours were so she could at least find comfort in knowing the times when he couldn't reply. Then, there came the welcomed number 1 accompanied with "New Mail" in her inbox. Yahoo! She was now smitten. 

"A Stately Canter

Getting ready for bed later, she was still annoyed with him, with his hesitancy, with his resistance to what she knew was the way to do things--men! Oh sure, she was aware she had the smallest tendency toward hissy fits, but this plainly wasn't that, nope, he was just, well, wrong. A woman knew, women always did, women always had. The realization led her to recall an anthropology class long ago, that cute prof who claimed our ancient female ancestors had taken control of the breeding act and, in the process, invented love-making. Figures, she thought. Something about females proffering themselves sexually while wading in shallows, inviting rear entry which allowed them to both suckle young and control the violence, the brutality of male-initiated sex. Duh-uh, she thought, easier, slippery, nicer--and that rear position, mmm. Her thoughts jumped to an article she'd recently read about the Brit writer D.H. Lawrence, his, at least in her opinion, kinky connection between horses and sexuality, their "haunches" he called them, the way a large horse's muscular haunches moved, flexed, rippled as the animal trotted "a stately canter."

Standing at the window and occupied with her thoughts, she sensed him enter the room behind her, but not ready to drop her little snit, she didn't turn to him. She felt his arm slide around her waist, his hand lightly press her tummy; his left hand rested on her hip. When he nuzzled the back of her neck, she relaxed her rigid posture a little; he pulled her against him and stroked the smooth skin around her belly button. A single finger slid beneath her panties and brushed the top of her hair; in response, she pushed back against him slightly and felt him slide across the fabric covering her bottom. His hand slid lower and working gently found her.

Steering her with the hand on her hip, he turned them both to face the bed. She took a step apart from him to the bed's side. Still behind her, he stopped her there, slid both hands down her hips, and dropped her panties to the floor. She heard and then felt his jeans drop as well. She put one knee up on the bed to climb on, but again he halted her. She felt him slide up between her thighs and press against her sex. Slowly, delicately, steadily he pumped against her bottom. She thought he meant to enter her there, but he reached for two pillows, stacked them, and directed her up and over them. She sank down, her bottom arcing upward. She waited for him to part her legs, but sliding lingeringly over her, he straddled both of her legs and eased gently into her, making the moment last. Down, down, all the way in, slowly. At the very end, he began a languorous withdrawal that seemed to last moments, pausing at the last instant before beginning an achingly slow return that forced a quiet moan from her. She found the rhythm and surrendered to it, the pace never speeding or slowing, but steady, measured, easy, deep...stately. She rocked against the slow thrusts and tightened softly on the withdraws; her bottom moved, flexed, rippled beneath his hands. The stately canter went on.

At the window, she sighed, dropped the curtain back into place, and turned to the empty bed.
