‘Is this… an interface?’
Despite having no knowledge of where he was, he was familiar with the system interface.
After all, it was oddly similar to the novel he closely followed.
But…

レビューを書くHola!. I'm here to give a review on one of my favorite novels I read right now on this platform. This is a complete honest review from me as a reader who is caught up with non privilege, and my position as a moderator of this novel has nothing to do with it. Let's start with the obvious. Of course arriving on this novel you might think it's a good old cliche exta novel, but I beg to differ that ITS NOT. In no way does the protagonist hide his power or try to keep the maincast away. He is not weak either as he is quick to catch up to the main cast. Story wise, this is a complete different route from the extra genre though I do agree that some starting chapters are similar, but lets be honest. Don't we all expect the starting to be similar in an extra novel. The character development of characters is very good, and though you might hate the author in some mini arcs for example the cultural festival, please stop being an average wn reader and read further to see why he did that. The characters are neither too flushed out or just blatantly dry. If they are, then that's just something that author develops further. The pacing of the novel is perfect as well, its neither too slow nor too fast. Which is also one of the main reasons why I love this novel. The plot of the novel is really different from extra novels and I mean it. In the normal cliche novels where the extra just has to kill demons, this is quite different as there are further things that come on later into the story. The author also perfectly sets emotions, depth and character development at each plot point. The stability of updates is something you absolutely don't need to worry about as author updates 2 chaps daily while also doing mass releases time to time. Overall, I highly recommend this novel to everyone and I would really hope that they give this a try and find out for yourself that this is infact not glazing and an actual honest review of the novel.
From what I've seen so far, this novel does have a lot of potential. Villain novels are quite garbage whereas extra novels are now being overtaken and corrupted by those Chinese authors. Luckily this one doesn't follow your Chinese troupe. The mc actually befriends the main character for once unlike all those other trash where you see him stealing all the main characters "chances" or fate. Now to talk about the novel, our mc is an average lad from Earth who got thrown into this Magical Earth. Unlike novels like The Novel's Extra and Author's POV, where the mc's are mocked for using strange weapons or doing weird actions, the mc in here is originally seen as a talented fellow. Even later on people don't usually look down on him or try to get into fights with him. On the other hand, the original mc of the novel is the person who is looked down even though he's Rank 1 which makes it interesting. The dynamics of this novel between the characters are good enough and.. I better see more chapters real soon or else, Author just know that you're going in my basement. This isn't a threat, I'm merely stating the future.
it's just average in my opinion cause there's nothing new here . The novel is about a teenage boy who used to read a novel but dropped it and died when he wanted to pick it up again and got transmigrated into an Extra's body ( Brandon )in the novel who might not actually be an Extra because he thinks the system he has was for the other Brandon The Extra's are pretty fleshed out which is really good . The system is a meh at best it has the ability to create any skill . The MC Brandon well he's not too smart I can't really blame him cause he was still a teenager when he got transmigrated but still a little bit of common sense is still needed which he doesn't seem to have The plot is not really good here's why -The MC wanted to steal a mask from the academy which is supposed to be the most prestigious and safest academy in the world but somehow his subordinate whom he asked to sneak into the academy when there was a party for the arrival of the new students and act as a waiter oh and you would think there would be security to stop him but no he somehow managed to sneak into the party in the academy with no prep time at all like the MC told him at the last minute . So he somehow managed to sneak into the academy blah blah blah started scouting the place where the mask is supposed to be looking for the security camera location and all that. Then the MC and him started sneaking into the place where the oh so great mask is supposed to be and again you would think for a valuable mask in a prestigious academy they would put more security but nope only two guards at the entrance of the place where the mask is supposed to be and MC great subordinate managed to distract them buy saying he wanted to use the toilet or whatever and the stupid guards followed him to take him to the toilet both of them for Christ sake so the MC was able to enter the place with ease . Honestly I get the author new that's why I'm stopping here and not saying more oh and the author is thinking of making a poll to make the his BLOOD RELATED SISTER his Love interest which in my opinion shouldn't even be considered at all . still gonna read it but once the poll is up and i see his sister name I'm out (Excuse my English )
ネタバレを明かす(TL;DR at the end)At first, I simply started this novel for more extra brainrot. I came in expecting the same old generic bs we see in literally every other extra novel in existence. I did not get what I wanted. But was I disappointed? NO. 'Extra's Descent', is unlike any other extra novel I have ever read(and I have read a LOT). First of all, the writing quality. The writing style of this novel is simple. It is more or less the same as what you can see in korean webnovels, or even in Entrail_JI's 'Advent of the three calamities'. Simple, yet efficient. It is a writing style I personally like a lot.[5/5] Next up, is the update stability. I have been reading this novel since it didn't even have a measly 10 chaps and I can guarantee you that not a day has passed without 2 chapters being dropped. And of course, the bonus chapters for meeting PS goals is being updated as well.[5/5] Story Development. I have to say this is most probably the most surprising part of this novel for me. Like I said, I went expecting a generic story and at first, I believed that is what I got. Oh boy was I wrong. What I thought to be plot holes at first turned out to be plot points for a major reveal. What I thought to be a generic story at first, turned out to be a gem hidden in plain sight. If you are going to read this novel, give it at least 50 chapters before you drop. Trust me when I say it will be worth it.[5/5] Character Design. We are getting to the good points(oh well, everything before was also good points but this does require a special mention). The character design of this novel is one of its strongest points. Each character, offers to substance to the novel and are a major driving force for the plot. In fact, I would dare say this is a character-driven story despite its enthralling plot.[6/5] World Building. Now this is where the novel hits a bump in the road. Everything, novel or otherwise, has its flaws. While I wouldn't go so far as to call it a flaw, the world building of this novel is in fact one of the only things I find to be lacking. Of course, it offers a unique twist by getting rid of demons. That's right, this is an extra novel WITHOUT DEMONS OR OTHER GENERIC RACES LIKE ELVES AND DWARVES AND ORCS. But I still find it to be lacking because we know nearly nothing about the world. All the information we need is revealed as the plot progresses but we don't get much additional information.[4.5/5] TL;DR: Read at least 50 chaps before deciding to drop, great story, spectacular characters, KR style writing, 2 chaps per day, NO WAR AMONGST GENERIC RACES BS and 100% recommended read. WQ:5/5, SU:5/5, SD:5/5, CD:6/5, WB:4.5/5. What are you still waiting for? Go read.
I'm writing this review after reading 36 chapters and so far it looks really promising, but to go in depth a bit more:- 1.The writing quality is very good and I didn't notice any grammatical errors while reading, which is always a plus. 2.the upload schedule so far seems good and author is active on discord so you can go barrage him on there, if he ever stops uploaded. 3.As for the novel itself, I can't say much as it's just starting, but I really like the MC and his skill weaver ability, also his personality is pretty likeable, even the side cast seem developed and likeable, which I really enjoy. 5.Overall I would recommend this novel to anyone who's a fan of the the genre.
I love the way there are a lot of jjk references, but i would like to feel Brandon's personality not another character's personality. i feel like the romance in this novel is not smooth, as all of a sudden he would love Amelia or Rachel, i hope some explanation would show up in the next chapters. but overall i love the novel very much and it has so much potential, so good luck to the author.
ネタバレを明かすThis review contains spoilers for the first 80 chapters of the novel. I had high expectations coming into this novel, as the "extra" narrative is something I enjoy, sadly I was disappointed. My complaints started when he first fought against the assassin in the Deus Company. He received his powers the day before, didn't train with them, and casually decided to fight against a TRAINED ASSASSIN?! How stupid is he? [He could have tried to escape, the assassin didn't seem to be interested in him. And with the system, he can have as much money as he wants, the CEO wasn't that important] The only reason he won was because he completed the quest, and that's another weird thing. For the quest he had to survive for 15 minutes, and you are telling me that they took that long to exchange a few words and a couple of blows? What an incompetent assassin! Also the way he wins is ridiculous. He uses a skill that I still fail to understand: the neutralize magic skill. The description of the skill is simple, but that leaves behind a lot of questions that are left unanswered: what is the range of the skill, and how much area does it cover? It only says a location, but does that mean that he needs to locate the precise point where the magic will be created, or is there a margin of error? Is it like a 1m sphere? 1 cubic meter? Who knows. And then the MC trusting the assassin was completely moronic. Leaving aside what happened later, did he really think that he could keep up pretenses for a long time? Did he really think Alpha wouldn't suspect a thing after seeing how weak the first seat was? I won't detract points from the novel for this, but something that annoys me are the girls in the novel. When I see the no-harem tag, what I think is a romantic subplot with just two people. Instead, I am 80 chapters in and we already have Rachel, Sarah, and even some weird moments with the teacher. There isn't anything concrete for now, but in 80 chapters flirty moments with 3 people is not to my liking. Seeing that there were other people with a system was quite interesting. Moving to the school trip arc, more problems arise. Firstly, did no one really notice that two classes of students (the two best ones, by the way) were sent in the middle of nowhere? And why didn't the professor try to resolve the issue on his own? Why does he need a bunch of kids? I don't know if I missed the explanation but I didn't get it. I also didn't like how the MC is behaving. When he's at the guild, and he finds out about the missing girl, he lashes out on the people there because they didn't help, but that's stupid. He's in completely different circumstances from them. They don't have a system. They can't buy potions, they can't create skills, they don't have multiple elements or the ability to nullify magic! They are vulnerable people who just want to provide to their family. They don't have an obligation to help others. Sure, maybe that means that they are not good people, but so what? Additionally, it's not like he's a saint. He also killed humans back at the hotel. Did he check that all of them were evil people without families? He also probably killed someone that was loved, it seems something so out of character.... Another issue is the power scaling of this world. There are ranks, but they don't seem to matter much. What is the difference between an S level and an F one? It's never shown (aside from the fight with Jin, but he's probably the strongest human in the world). Also ranks doesn't really matter because he can just nullify other people's power. In conclusion, I had some issues with the first part of the novel. Nevertheless, I will continue reading a bit more, and will maybe upload the review if it gets better.
Review at chapter 63: The story is actually good and doesn't follow most cliché tropes. The main character isn't a beta who hides in the shadows all the time or decides to follow the plot or stay away from the protagonist of the book he was sent into. The story is still in its early stages, so there might be some things that are yet to be properly developed. The interactions with the characters though are really fun to read, as each one doesn't seem bland and has a personality that you would enjoy.
"Extra's Descent" by Athex is a captivating light novel that stands out in the genre of transmigration and fantasy1 . The story follows Brandon Locke, who finds himself transmigrated into his favorite novel1 . Armed with knowledge of the future, Brandon navigates this new world, facing challenges and uncovering secrets along the way1 . The novel excels in several areas: Writing Quality: The writing style is simple yet engaging, making it easy to follow and enjoy1 . Update Stability: The author consistently updates the story, keeping readers hooked with regular new chapters1 . Story Development: What initially seems like a generic plot unfolds into a well-crafted narrative with unexpected twists and turns1 . Character Design: The characters are well-developed, each with their own unique traits and growth arcs1 . Overall, "Extra's Descent" is a gem hidden in plain sight, offering a refreshing take on the transmigration trope1 . If you're a fan of fantasy and adventure, this novel is definitely worth a read!

ネタバレを明かすThis novel is really just something to pass the time when you have nothing else to read, which is a shame because it has so much potential. There are a lot of good ideas here, but they’re not fully realized. Spoilers ahead World-Building: There’s not much detail given. It’s mentioned that there are different continents, but there’s almost no information about the relationships, culture, or society within them. The main character (MC) lives in an empire on one of these continents, but there’s never any information about the imperial family or the empire’s hierarchy. There are supposedly great, influential families, but in practice, they don’t really matter. For example, someone from one of the wealthiest families is kidnapped, but neither the authorities nor the family seems to care—only the MC and the “hero” of the story take action, which makes little sense. In another instance, people and children are disappearing in an imperial town, yet no one seems to be doing anything about it. Even when a professor from the continent’s most prestigious academy calls for help, no one acts, causing unnecessary suffering. The problem is so easy to solve that it feels more like a Fallout-style experiment to see how the town would react to disappearances without any government support. Writing: I won’t delve into this too much because English isn’t my native language, so I might not notice things that native speakers would pick up on. But as far as I can tell, the writing is understandable, and I don’t get lost while reading, which is definitely a plus. Story Development: The pacing is inconsistent—it starts slow, then speeds up, then slows down again, and so on, making it feel like a rollercoaster. The story itself is interesting—not bad, but not particularly great either. There are storylines that make you want to know more, and others that you just wish would end. Characters: I have mixed feelings here. At first, the characters feel flat—not really interesting but not terrible either. Then, they start showing signs of development, like when one of the “main” characters acts classist toward the MC because his rank is too low, even though he’s hanging out with high-ranking people. Later, the MC outperforms her in a competition, and you see her regret her previous attitude. This makes you curious about how her character will develop… but instead, she just apologizes and quickly returns to her original behavior. The biggest issue, though, is with the MC himself. All the elements around him are intriguing: his entry into this world, the mysteries of the previous owner of his body, and why he was chosen to transmigrate. But the MC himself feels uninspired. He doesn’t learn, doesn’t grow, and keeps making the same mistakes. He comes up with plans that fail, blames himself, promises not to rely solely on knowing the novel anymore, then goes right back to doing the same thing. Even when he realizes that his knowledge doesn’t help much—because the world he’s in may resemble the novel, but it isn’t one—he rarely adapts or uses his knowledge strategically. He doesn’t try to recruit people who could be valuable allies in the future, nor does he look for artifacts that might benefit him. He doesn’t try to improve in any way; instead, he relies on a system that’s practically useless and rarely helps. Later on, when he gains the previous Brandon’s knowledge—which includes the experience of hundreds of attempts, alternative realities, and more—it’s like he learns nothing from it. Even though it’s mentioned that the previous Brandon was a genius at mana control and magical study, the MC doesn’t use any of that knowledge. He just calls the previous Brandon a failure for not being able to save the world in all those tries, even though he himself hasn’t achieved anything but failures, only surviving due to protective armor.
well the novel it self is alright personally MC is too overpowered for no reason. but it does have the overpowered tag so i can let it slide. if your looking for a MC that just knows how clap dudes at lvl 2 and 3 with no training what so ever this is for you. its not amazing, but its not bad. pretty mid but readable if you got nothing else to consume
Just binged it. Some small inconsistencies, but overall, a very good read. Takes a somewhat cliche situation and changes it enough so it feels fresh. The MC is a bit bland, but to compensate, the other characters are more developed than they normally would be in an average Webnovel story. Would recommend it, not a waste of time. Writing Quality: ★★★★ -No obvious mistakes and an easy read. Story Development: ★★★ -Cliche but not borning. Character design: ★★★★ -Good overall, but should fletch out the MC some more. Update Stability: ★★★★★ World Background: ★★★★ -Actually interesting and more thought-out than normal novels.
The concept is good and the mc seems more fleshed out and realistic than most. However he’s also a reckless fool who only survives with invincible plot armor. I can forgive this a bit but the author really loves putting the mc in impossible situations only to survive in ways that make no sense whatsoever. It’s just lazy writing.
A very beautiful novel, enjoyable events, and the development of beautiful and wonderful characters. I am looking forward to the upcoming chapters. Continue.👍👍
yo, I don't write review so often but I need to write a review about this to tell you how fking awesome this novel is. so this novel is written by a bastard name Athex and I hate to admit but the way he writes is just peak. you can't even say that this is his first novel! and about the plot, I thought that it was another extra novel that has all similar plot but I couldn't have been more wrong in my life 😭😭 it might be similar to other extra novels for a few chapters but it is so different in a fking awesome way like main character doesn't hide his strength early romance but not that early like it is early in comparison to other novel of the same genre and we are talking about romance then all female characters are so peak but for me, fml will always be Belle. and there are so many female characters but that doesn't me that this is a harem because I and all my homeis hate harem and the conclusion of my all yapping is READ IT
作者 athex
This will reach the peak. 🥰 I saw this randomly in my feed and saw the author so I thought I would write this to encourage them. Writing looks great so good luck!
