Write a reviewWhile the story felt like yet another average cultivation-mmo story at the beginning, it very quickly took a life of its own and shown how deep the author had planned the world and the plot. It is very interesting to follow the protagonist as he learns about the many aspects of both cultivation and Alchemy, and there are many currents and mysteries moving in the background. With the high release rate as a bonus, this has easily become one of my favorite web-novels.
I started this book as a third book to keep me occupied while my other books updated. Boy am I glad I started reading this! it's got a somewhat generic beginning, however it quickly becomes something more. The author is doing an amazing job with world building and character development so far and the author is open to suggestion. There are twists and turns that make this book really enjoyable and I like reading this much more than my other books currently. This would be a perfect 5 out of 5 except for one minor thing that happens in the middle of the book but it's literally only one chapter and I'm very glad that I kept reading.
so i will first go through the two high scores but first I want to say something THE AUTHOR IS A FREAKING LIER AND A BIG TIME LIER AT THAT! going back to the two high scores, he has stable updates, and even though the world background isn't original and highly limited it's not bad, though if I could I would have given it a 3.5, not a 4. now for the writing quality, not saying that I'm a genius in writing or a stickler for grammar, I'm not. and I normally don't complain about non-proper grammatical sentences and I won't here, the problem is that the writing style is very awkward although it's still readable, the style seems like we are reading a list of things that the mc is doing rather than experiencing the moment with the mc. it was highly prominent a the start and lessened slightly later on and if the 2 things I'm gonna talk about weren't so bad the awkward writing style wouldn't have been a total dealbreaker. story development, eh, actually I'm kinda torn. i like how the other characters aren't your stereotypical "you dare! you seem to have eyes but not have seen mount tai" but the main problem is with the MC, he I supposed to focus on cultivation so he specifically joins a sect that specializes in pill making yet the story bends backward to keep the mc as naive as possible, they literally teach him NOTHING LITERALLY NOTHING and that's the ACTUAL theme of the novel, total idiotic (yes e instead of an I was done on purpose) nativity. he also gets everything without any effort. character design, I would have actually given the character design a 2 or 3 if the mc was normal stupid, but this MC would not be accepted In the "special" class at school, they need the special version of the special version of the special class to nearly keep up with the mc's ritardedness. forget 3 brain cells or no brain cells, I'm pretty sure this dude has a high negative IQ probably the most idiotic mc i have ever read in my entire life and i read the trial read novels with every cycle for the first free chapters... the author tries to play it as if the mc is naive because he was working on a farm, but his idiocy reaches levels that this excuse can't justify, simple things like 5 min of research is something that he actively doesn't do, he actively digs himself holes and then he realises that he dug himself a hole so what does he do? he digs it even deeper, if you reach ch 48 you would know what i mean. fine, the dude hasn't ever read or watched any fantasy/ cultivation anything but do a slight bit of research, my dude, if that's something you got interested in the first instinct is to read up on it or watch things on the thing you are interested on to gain as much info as you can. going back to the author being a lier, in his comment he says that the mc is mostly ignorant for the most part for the first 10 chapters, but that's a lie, if anything as times go on it gets worst and worst as you can no longer excuse his ignorance.
The story had potential, but the character development is almost nil and the protagonist is dumb to an unbelievable point, seriously, read a few chapters and you will see that even Naruto is smarter
why are all the good novels I read hace a really stupid mc or a super passive one like make them more wise. ................................
I would like to give it more stars but after reading up to 100 chapters I can not. The writing is great and I think the story had great potential but the MC kills the story. He is a college student that in the game he is a complete idiot or has no common sense on anything. The Author tries to get away with this on the fact that the MC was from the country side. I find it highly unlikely that even someone from the country side would have never been expose to any stories or games related to cultivation or even fantasy. If that was the case, the Author should have said the MC grew up in a Cave where they just learn how to make fire. I tired to keep reading but once I got to chapter 100, I just can take it any more.
Excessive wish fulfilment, without logic. Stupid decision to justify plot. Eg. Sell pill > make easy money > plot demand lack of money (for capsule) > Make stupid reason to get money when he is still loaded (25k in account and need 1k). Somehow trying to justify situation. I tolerated this novel to my limit. I just cant continue it anymore.
Book is a little slow paved for me. You don't really get much world background and the Mc is just way to dumb. I understand he is from the country but if he got into a decent college which seems to be the case he shouldn't be this stupid and clueless.
This book is unique, it's different from other cultivation books I've ever read. The descriptions are detailed and vivid. The MC is interesting, and I also like the story development. It's surely a recommended book [img=recommend]
Started really good, but now the MC has made almost no progress in 300 chapters. I’m now just skipping a lot of chapters as they don’t add anything. The Mc has stayed in the same sect and realm for 320 chapters. Really boring.
MC HAS CROSSED THE LIMIT OF A PERSON BEING NAIVE. .. .. .. .. .. .. . .. . .. .. .. .. .. ... . ... .. .. . . .. .. .
I KNOW THAT MANY ARE THINKING THAT THIS NOVEL IS VERY SLOWPACED AND EVEN I THINK THAT(BUT FROM THE LATEST CHAPTERS I AM DOUBTING THAT IT ISN'T SO CAUSE IN JUST TWO MONTHS AFTER RELEASING THE GAME PEOPLE HAVE REACHED LIKE TRUE EMPEROR REALM AND THERE MIGHT BE SOME PEOPLE ABOVE THAT, THAT HAVE YET TO SHOW UP). SECONDLY, ARE TALENTED PEOPLE THAT COMMON OR ARE TALENTS THAT EASY TO ACQUIRE ? I MEAN HEAVEN GRADE BODIES, IMMORTAL GRADE BODIES, GOD GRADE TALENTS ETC. THE NOVEL HAS DEPICTED MANY PEOPLE WITH SUCH TALENTS AND SOME HAVE EVEN DIED (ISN'T IT A BIT TOO FAST) THIRD, IS CULTIVATION THAT EASY? THERE ARE MANY CULTIVATION NOVEL OUT THERE AND ALL OF THEM TELL ONE THING FOR CERTAIN THAT CULTIVATION IS A VERY LONG AND ARDUOUS JOURNEY, IT'S VERY DIFFICULT TO BREAK THROUGH THE HIGHER YOU GET, THE NOVEL ALSO SHOWS THAT BY INCREASING THE AMOUNT OF QI REQUIRED; BUT PLAYERS HAVE REACHED CLOSE TO THE SAINT REALM IN TWO MONTHS OF CULTIVATION. FOURTH, THERE ARE NO QUESTS. FIFTH, SOME THINGS JUST GIVES THE FEELING OF IT BEING SHORT OR INCOMPLETE (CULTIVATION SYSTEM/ ALCHEMY SYSTEM) SIXTH, THE PART WITH SPIRIT CLEANSING LILY(IS SPIRIT CLEANSING LILY THE ONLY RARE INGREDIENT ? AND IF ITS RARE LATER THAT CONCEPT ALSO KIND OF FADED AWAY AFTER SEEING THE MC GET SO MANY OF THEM) AND IF YOU PICK THE WRONG ONE THEN ALL WILL START WILTING BUT THERE MIGHT ATLEAST BE SOME ALCHEMIST WHO MIGHT/SHOULD HAVE RESEARCHED IT, ARE THE ALCHEMISTS THAT WEAK? AND MC WAS ABLE TO GET THEM ALL ONLY BECAUSE OF THE ALCHEMY GOD'S INHERITANCE(WHICH IS SHOWN AS A TECHNIQUE IN THIS NOVEL) . SEVENTH, IF THE GAME WORLD IS A REAL WORLD AND THE POWERS THERE COULD BE BOUGHT INTO REALITY, THEN THE AUTHOR SHOULD HAVE SHOWN THE SIGNS BY NOW;I MEAN THE MC DID GO THROUGH MORTAL CLEANSING . SUMMARY- THERE ARE TOO MANY BLANK SPOTS(LOOP HOLES)OUT THERE WHICH LEADS TO THE FEELING OF INCOMPLETENESS. THE NOVEL COULD HAVE BEEN MADE MUCH BETTER .
pretty much the main character is an idiotic naive oblivious noob has no idea what video games or anything else is for that matter and has more plot armor and luck than any being in any novel ever and I am not exaggerating even the slightest bit pretty much think if you took a baby and aged it 20 years and then threw it into a VR video game while also giving it enough luck to rule the world and that's pretty much this novel in a nutshell.
Plot is interesting... characters are well developed except the MC..he is the dumbest or most idiot guy I've ever seen..i mean he is going into a new world, he could have read something about it either online or from his friends but he did not..even he want to go blind in the game he could have used the library or ask information from other NPCs...his priority are not same.. I've read about 150 chapters but all I've seen MC in 2 sects and forest, that's it...he don't bothered to know about the city he is living in, it's history or geography or political situation... it's one thing to make MC a naive one but to make him retard or a sheep.
100 chapters in and there is still no major plot. the MC is playing a game but I'm not sure what the story is about. splitting focus between the real world and the game world is unbalanced. the majority of the story happens in the game world and every update in the real world seems trivial. the MC doesn't really have any goals in the real world and the game aspect does not seem like a game, no other players interacting with the MC it seems like he is in a typical wuxia world with no consequences.
I read 150 chapters before finding myself thinking "why am i reading this?" The MC is too overpowered. Everything is too easy for him, no effort whatsoever. It's supposed to be a game but that thing is broken because the MC has an unfair advantage. Maybe it's like Cultivation online and Cultivation is real irl but still. It gets old quick. Characters are bland. We know nothing about them. MC has 3 roommates and aside from "he logged out and went to eat with his roommates" we never see them. No talk about their lives, their game characters, nothing. Author spend more time describing his cultivation system than writing a real story. The game has no quests, you just cultivate non stop. You don't know the structure of the world. You get the names of the MC's city and of the country but that's it. Population? Sects? What's around? We don't know. I don't know where the author wants to go because nothing actually happens. As for other players? I have no proof they exist because MC never saw one. Weird because everyone play the game.
A good story that is ultimately weighed down by two big issues. Firstly, there is such a thing as too much detail. There were many times in the story I was reading when too many small things were talked about. Like going to one place only to be turned away because he needs *blank*. So he goes to get *blank* only for it to be a long drawn-out process. This happens a lot, and I keep asking myself: "Did you really need to take time to include all these useless things?" It really feels like the word count is unnecessarily padded. The other issue is the MC knows LITERALLY nothing. Imagine a little kid following you around asking the most obvious questions for several hours. And no matter how much they learn, even the slightest hint of anything new leads to a barrage of new questions. I'm surprised the MC knows how to BREATHE without being told how to do it.
Honestly I'm a reader that's not overly picky. everyone is complaining about how dumb the mc is but I don't mind. In fact, I rather enjoyed this novel a lot. well enough to get me to a bit over 550 chapters. But the story decisions made at this point are very frustrating to the point that I no longer want to read it. It's not that it's bad but 550 chapters in I'm invested in the mc. the REAL mc. It's not that what you did isn't an interesting idea it's just an extreme let down because it took way too long and lets us get too attached to the real him. if you were gonna do something like that don't give us so much IRL in it. it honestly doesn't even feel like the same story.
Reveal Spoilerit's a mediocre read. i enjoy the route the novel was trying to go with alchemy in a game to earn money, I just really dislike naive innocent uncultured uneducated main characters. there hasn't been a single moment of him becoming more social or actually learning any more than he already has not had he really just focused on alchemy. it's mostly just oh yeah he learned this and that in an hour and can do it with his eyes closed now. not saying it's bad, just it makes it seems like just another cultivation novel. there honestly doesn't seem like there's any point in the transitions to RL as they are basically meaningless snippets.

Hello, Author here. I decided to write this novel because of my love for alchemy in cultivation novels. while there will be every cultivation-related plot point going on in the series, it will mostly focus on Alchemy. I tried to make the MC clueless about cultivation at first, and that came off as being dumb initially. however, that changes within the first 10 chapters. Please do give it a read, especially if you like Alchemy as I do.
