Chapter 36: I'm back...

In a private residence in Tampa, Florida, an interdimensional door was open, and from within, a man wearing a robe, a mask, and a hood walked out of it.

Immediately, his cellphone started to get notifications.

"Hmm? Ah, from mother and Clark."

Checking his messages, he replied to them with an apology for not communicating all these days, blaming the bad reception.

After that, he took off his outfit and took a long bath.

{I'm home...}

*******************

It took me three days to put everything in order, and like Matthew said, S.T.A.R. Labs was doing great, meaning he was making more profit, which he was reinvesting in some other businesses.

Now that I'm resting from all the training, I have also been thinking about one of the artifacts as an idea to make something that will make a negotiation easier.

******

{Nayru}

~Oh, Hi, Master~

{How are things in Azarath?}

~Everything is fine. Ah, Raven, ask if you're back on Earth already.~

{Yes, tell her that next week I will go to Azarath}

~Yey!, I mean, got it!~

{See you later}

~{Ha,ha,ha}~

~Yes, Master~

"Hmm, well, now I need a lab or a workshop."

*Ring* *Ring*

*Click*

"Oh, hello, sir, what can I do for you?"

"Mathew, I need a workshop; find me one; the more private, the better."

"Understood, time?"

"Two weeks"

"I got it; I will tell you, sir, when it is done."

"Thank you"

*Click*

{Now I need to visit a detective}

In the office of Detective Chimp

"Mister Isaac, what can I do for you?"

Now the office was a lot better than before; it had a better desk, chairs, and air conditioner.

"I need to find a place, but I want you to be very discreet about it; after all, their residents are dangerous people."

"Hmm, any references?"

"All I know is that they hide themselves somewhere in Turkey."

"They?"

"They called themselves [the hidden ones]..."

**********

At the end, he agreed to do the job for a hundred million, which is pretty cheap in my opinion, but according to him, it was "just poking around".

The death line is a month—enough time for me to find a workshop and make the machine.

For the next few days, I just read, practiced martial arts, went running, and ate.

*****

Today is the day of my visit to Azarath. I double-checked all my souvenirs and put my new set of equipment, minus the mask.

"[Kèter'elyon]"

"[En aquest lloc i en aquesta hora, invoco el Poder Antic, Obre la porta a través del temps i l'espai, Creo un camí cap a un altre lloc]"

A regal gold portal appeared in my living room.

When I passed through it, I saw some guardians, but I don't recognize them.

"Guardian Isaac?"

"Yes"

"Madam Azar is waiting for you in her studio."

"I see, thank you."

He just smiled and left.

I walked through the streets of Azarath to go to the Main Temple, where the studio of Arella resided.

{No matter how many times I see it, it's always surreal} As I'm walking, I also look at the sky and people around me.

*Giggle*

"Ha,ha,ha"

"Luke, come here..."

Seeing all the children playing peacefully and the adults without worry is relaxing, but I know that this peace will not last.

I hurried my pace to the main temple, trying not to have negative thoughts.

*Knock*

*Knock*

"Come in..."

*Creack*

*Click*

Like always, Arella was reading an arcane book.

"Hi, Arella, How are you doing?"

"..."

"How long did you spend there, Isaac?"

"What!, Why?"

~{Is something wrong?, I don't feel different}~

"That innocence of a little boy is gone."

{Huh?}

"You're a man now."

"Ahm, I was already a man."

(Giggle)That's not what I meant; it's in your eyes, in your voice. You fought and grew so much, I doubt it was only a couple of months, so how much?"

(Sigh)"...Thirty years"

"Isaac, why would you do that?" A trace of melancholy was in her voice.

"I needed time to understand my magic, my abilities, and myself."

(Sigh)Well, for what is worth, welcome back, Isaac."

"Thank you, Arella. "

*********

*Nom* *Nom* *Nom*

~Yummi~

I'm in Raven's room, and my companion is eating some of the souvenirs that I brought for her.

*Poke* *Poke* *Poke*

*Nom* *Nom*

Raven is poking the squirrel-like cheeks that Nayru had by shoving that much food in her tiny mouth.

"I'm glad that both of you are getting along pretty well."

"Why wouldn't we?"

"Ahm...good question"

*Stare*

"Look, I brought you this, little sister."

From my inventory, I pulled out a necklace. The chain was gold, and it also had a light red with some hues of yellow, black, white, and orange colored gems in the middle.

"It's called Twilight."

*Sparkle Eyes*

"Is.. beautiful.. I mean, thank you, Isaac."

"You're welcome"

*Gulp*

~Is pretty~

"Come on, put on."

*Stare*

She started to stare at my hands, and I understood.

{She wants me to do it. What a cute little sister!}

"Come here"

*Tap* *Tap* *Tap*

She shyly approached me while keeping her head down.

{I guess I'm the only male model for her, well, until she meets the titans}

When she came in front of me, I pulled his hood down, and with a single move, I turn her around gently with my hands.

"Hold your hair."

She did as I told her; with her hands, she held her medium-long, dark purple hair.

"There, hold still."

I unlocked the necklace, then put it on around her neck and immediately locked it afterwards.

"There you go."

She let her hair fall, then she started to touch the gem in the middle.

"I feel some kind of power from it."

"Correct, it's called the Blessing of the Twilight, thus the name of the necklace."

"What does it do?"

"In short, it amplifies your magic power and increases your mental defense."

"..!?"

"Where...did you find it?" She stammered her words.

"I made it for you."

"What!?" She screamed loudly.

*Tap* *Tap* *Tap*

"What happened, Raven!? Are you okay!?" Here comes her mother.

*Blush*

"I'm sorry, mom, I..."

(Sigh)Let me explain, Arella..."

After a couple of minutes of me explaining the current situation, she finally understood why Raven screamed.

"Well, indeed, I would also scream if I were in her place; what you made is something very valuable, Isaac."

"Nothing is more valuable than my sister's safety."

*Blush* "I...I..." She hid her face in her hood.

(sigh)Ok, I'm leaving."

"Wait, Arella. I had something for you too."

"Eh?"

*************

After my little visit to Azarath, I came back to my house in Florida, and a couple of days later I received a call from Matthew.

*Ring*

*Click*

"Sir, the workshop building has been bought and is in good condition for you."

"Very well, thank you, Mathew."

"No problem, sir."

"Where is it located?"

"Boston"

"Perfect"

Chapter 37: Hidden City...

In a building in Boston, Massachusetts, two people were inspecting the place.

"What do you think, sir?"

The building was an abandoned fabric factory located in the private sector.

"It's perfect; tell the real state agent that I want the nearby buildings too."

This was not the only place for sale, but until now there have been no buyers.

"Understood, sir, anything else?"

"Not for now; you can go; I will call you if I need something."

"Very well, sir, goodbye."

"Take care, Mathew."

*Tap*(Tap) *Tap*(Tap)

*Click*

Looking around one more time, I inspect with my other sight, and when I saw that nothing was wrong, I started to secure this place with talismans and runes.

*Huff* "Finally, it's done." It took me three hours to secure it.

{Now I can work in peace}

**********

{[Magic Engine]} This is what I'm creating right now.

This is something that no one has ever created before, and for good reason.

For starters, the materials to create one are not found on earth, maybe on another planet, but here, forget it.

Then is the actual build of the engine; unlike its mechanical counterpart, this one needs to hold and release energy that can be compared with the energy of a nuclear reactor.

"I have the materials, but how do I build this?"

~{I can't build it like a regular mechanical engine}~

In front of me was a white board with many designs of engines, from cars to planes.

"Hmm, so if Earth designs don't work, let's make it alien-like, and for that, I have someone."

*Ring* *Ring* *Ring*

*Bip*

"Isaac?, Are you alright?"

"That's the first thing you ask me, brother."

"Ha, ha, sorry, it is rare for you to call me."

"Well, you see, I need your opinion on something."

"Oh, and what could that be?"

"I'm stuck on how to design an engine; I already tried all the designs available, so..."

"I see. Sure, I can help. Where are you?"

"Boston"

"I will be there shortly."

*Bip*

{Maybe the show or movies didn't mention more, but Kal-El possesses super intellect}

*Zap* *Boom*

*Tap*

*Knock* *Knock*

"Coming..."

*Creack*

When I opened the door, a 6'7 foot tall man with white skin, black short hair, and blue eyes was there. He was wearing a simple grey t-shirt with some blue pants and brown shoes.

"Welcome to my humble workshop, brother."

"Thank you"

*Click*

We approached a large metal table with many strange materials on top, chairs to the sides, and a wide white board in front.

"What kind of engine are you planning to build?"

"An engine that could hold the raw energy of a nuclear reactor"

"!?"

"Don't worry, is not going to be actually nuclear energy."

~{Is worse}~

"Hmm, well, in that case, indeed, the current Earth designs are behind by a few thousand years," he said, starting to hold his chin with his right hand.

"So there's one?" I took a seat on one of the chairs surrounding the large table.

"That depends," he said, starting to look at the materials.

"In what?" I stared at his face.

"It's purpose." He looked back at me.

"Purpose?"

"Yes, if you want an engine for a car, a plane, or a rocket, all of them have different designs."

"Of course, I already know that; I thought that you would have a multi-purpose engine or something."

"Ha,ha,ha, well, sorry to break it to you, little brother, but that doesn't exist."

"Right..."

After discussing for a couple of hours the exact purpose of my engine, he gave me a couple of designs, then he flew off; apparently he had a half-time job.

**********

*Ring* *Ring*

*Bip*

"Yes, detective?"

"I got it."

"Fantastic, where?"

"Göreme, Turkey"

"Thank you so much, Detective."

"It was my job."

*Bip*

"Finally," I looked at the engine that I made that was on the table.

Göreme, Turkey

"Indeed, if I wanted to hide a city, here would be a great place."

I was wearing my full equipment, including my mask, and in front of me was a big rocky valley made out of stone and volcanic rock; around it were mountains too.

{Now the fun part: how to get in without fighting}

"Let's just walk in first." I started to walk into the valley with uneven terrain and pointy rocks.

After a couple of minutes of walking, I could feel something...{Magic}.

I followed that feeling, which guided me into the inner parts of the valley, where little by little the light was less and less visible.

{Hmm?, something is off}~{[Kèter'elyon]}~

My crown illuminated the place, and when that happened, I could see many people in black robes on top of the rocks.

{So, I'm surrounded}~{Let's wait}~

"What is your business here, stranger?"

{This voice, a woman}

"I came here in peace. I want to make a deal with your  [High Lord]"

"How do you know that name?" She screamed that question, and I could feel the tension rising.

"I know many things, child, and I strongly suggest not making a decision that could kill your people." The tension escalated more.

"Stop, Melinda"

"!?"

From behind her, a portal appeared, and from within it, a man walked out. He was 6 feet tall, had short dark red hair, tan white skin, and green eyes.

He was wearing a light green robe with unknown runic patterns, along with a medallion in the middle in the form of a sun.

"Highlord!" x10 They immediately kneeled themselves.

"It is an honor to meet you, Highlord." I only did a courtesy bow.

"Rise." They immediately stood up, and I finally saw his face different from when he appeared in the comics, right now; he is in his mid-fourties.

"Come, including you, stranger."

"Thank you." I used raw magic to fly to the portal, and I followed the man.

When I exited the portal, I could finally see the mythical Hidden City, the place where the homomagi secluded themselves at the end of the war.

The city was clean and beautiful; like Azarath, it had a certain Greek vibe with big monuments and buildings made out of white limestone, but the major difference was that this city was technologically advanced.

There were magic lamp posts on the streets, automatons like guards on every corner, and floating cars. It was an interesting combination of modern and old.

"Welcome to Avalon," said the Highlord.

After that, they guided me to the main building, where the highlord surveyed the city. Along the way, many people were curious, which is, after all, rare for people to come.

******

Now in a throne-like room, the highlord was sitting on the big chair-like throne in the middle of the room. On his right side was a man wearing Greek-like armor, and on his left side was a woman.

This woman was beautiful; she looked like she was in her mid-fifties, with long blond hair, big blue eyes, and white skin.

She was wearing a one-piece white dress with her shoulders exposed, but the most ominous thing she was wearing was a crown; this crown was embedded into her spine.

"So, stranger, you say that you wanted to make a deal, which kind?"

"More than a deal, it is a trade. I give you something that will supply energy in this beautiful city for a thousand years, and you give me that woman, along with a promise." I pointed at the woman on his left side.

He squinted his eyes at me, but he didn't say anything.

"Bold claim, very well, if what you offer can do what you claimed, I can fulfill your demands."

"Very well, I will hold to that statement," I pull out from my inventory the newly constructed magic engine.

I saw the warrior on the right reach for the sword on his left side, but the highlord stopped him with a raised hand.

"What is this?" He pointed at the medium-sized engine that was in front of him.

"This is called a magic engine."
