It's a translated novel after all. I wouldn't ever expect "living" interactions to be a thing. it's always focused on how the MC is always right, even when they do wrong they are right. even when they are obnoxious and annoying, petty and childish (all the time in novels like this) they are saints and above reproach. comical in a way.

I can tell you I was pissed beyond belief at the fact I had the choice taken from me and displayed that anger rather violently.
