章節 67: Chasing Echos

Several weeks after the last Vampires on Earth were killed I was in the 1st Primordials library finishing another one of his books. I had learned much from this library. Specifically the complete history of the Vampire race. It turned out the 1st was an avid historian. he loved keeping records of what happened in both the mundane and magical side of the world. He was also quite laid back and reclusive. He had a special ability that allowed him to be the perfect historian. He could see everything that has ever happened on Earth. He couldn't see the future but he could predict it based on the history he knew.

'I really regret not using Drain Knowledge on him but I know I wouldn't be able to use it. He was both too strong and he knew too much. He was easily by far the most knowledgeable being on Earth when it came to Earth itself. Still from the records he left behind, he expected he would die eventually. I have barely read a 10th of his library and I still haven't found the knowledge I am looking for.'

I see a clone rushing over to me.

Clone: "Hey, I think I found what we are looking for. The only issue is that it is protected by a robust barrier."

Rio: "Let me see."

I follow him back and see what he means.

Rio: "Yeah this won't be easy to breach. How can you tell this is what we are looking for."

Clone: "You can barely make it out but look at the title of that book. Also, the words above the door is The Restricted Section."

I do exactly that and see that it is called the History Of The Banished Clan.

Rio: "Yeah that is indeed what we are likely looking for."

I summon 20 clones and we start on studying the barrier and how to undo it. We also searched the library for any books that might be related to the barriers. I have to leave and come back every so often as I have other duties to take care of.

2 Weeks Later...

Rio: "Finally this stupid barrier is down."

Clone: "Geez we really are lucky we didn't play fair against the 1st as we would have never beat him."

Rio: "Yeah no kidding. Now all of you should go in and see if it is trapped."

It takes 30 minutes to disable the traps that were set but we eventually get complete access to the Restricted Section.

Clone: "It's all clear."

Rio: "Thanks now you guys should dispel now so I can take the exhaustion."

All the clones dispel and I deal with the exhaustion fairly easily. After that I take the book the clone saw that started all of this. What I read in the book shocks me.

'No wonder they sealed them away. These Vampires are outsiders. They are also very dangerous. They spread like an actual disease with no outward signs you have been infected. Moreover, the name of this clan is familiar to me. The Volkihar Clan. They were given Vampiism by an unknown entity and they were attempting to bring said entity to this reality. Before they sealed the clan they had nearly 10k numbers. They also had a very powerful artifact that does not exactly say what it was. If I had to guess it is probably an Elder Scroll. The seal is located under a mountain and is protected by many magically created creatures and surprisingly Gargoyles.'

I use the Palantir to find the seal's exact location and see many thousands of creatures taking up nearly the entire cave that supposedly holds the seal. I wasn't able to see the seal.

'It seems like the current Ancient One hasn't been keeping the population in check. It looks like the cave and entrance haven't been serviced in centuries. Could the current Ancient One not know about the seal?'

I send a clone to investigate. I only have to wait an hour to get an answer and what I learn is troubling.

'No one has checked the place in many centuries. The exact number of creatures in the cave is nearly 50k. Moreover, the clone sensed a dimensional barrier that separated the seal from this dimension. He wasn't able to see into the barrier. I will have to send in our Undead army to clear the place out.'

I make the preparations and send 100k Death Knights to clear out the cave. We lost 27k but it was a minor loss all things considered. Once we cleared the cave I had clones make sure the area was secure then sent the clones through the barrier. Eventually a clone returns.

Clone: "The other side is secure. We just had to kill the Vampires and Gargoyles protecting the seal."

Rio: "Wait, there are Vampires inside?"

Clone: "Yep, and worse they are the Elder Scrolls variety. Moreover, the other side of the barrier looks like a ruin we know."

Rio: "Which one?"

Clone: "Forebears' Holdout."

Rio: "That is a bit troubling. Was a Weystone present?"

Clone: "Yep, it currently protects a staircase that leads to the seal. We couldn't find the Weystone Focus to disable the barrier."

Rio: "Let me check the Palantir."

I use the Palantir to see if I can find the Weystone Focus and find it very quickly.

Rio: "It seems that it is currently in an old chest near the bottom of the ocean."

I use Gate and take the Weystone Focus from inside the chest. Once it is free I hand it to the clone to disable the barrier. After a few minutes, I receive the go-ahead to enter. Once inside I head down the unsealed stairs and come to the seal that was made many years ago and I am shocked at what I see.

Rio: "Are those enslaved spirits?"

Clone: "I think they are. This looks like the seal around Morokei in the Labyrinthian."

I use Observe on the spirits and I am disgusted and shocked at what I see.

Rio: "All of these are the spirits of previous Sorcerer Supremes. All but the one before the current one. This is horrible. Their souls have been nearly destroyed by this seal. However, the seal is due to break in less than a decade. What were the creators of this seal thinking?"

Clone: "I think we found something."

I move over to the clone and see the body of the previous Ancient One. I decide to get some answers from him in the best way I can. I summon Bartleby.

Bartleby: "What do you need summoner?"

Rio: "I want to speak to this man's spirit."

I point to the body of the previous Ancient One.

Bartleby: "So it shall be."

A massive green light comes from Bartleby and when the light fades I see the previous Ancient One.

Aryon: "I am Aryon the previous Sorcerer Supreme, what questions do you have?"

Rio: "Why did you make the seal like this?"

Aryon looks guilty and sad at my question.

Aryon: "I had little choice. The Volkihar were nearly ready to do their ritual. I couldn't allow it to happen so I used the Darkhold to summon the spirits of 8 previous Sorcerer Supremes to help me seal them. I know what I did was horrible but it was for the greater good."

Rio: "Did you tell your replacement of this seal?"

Aryon: "No I didn't tell Yao of this seal. I wanted to die with the knowledge of this seal."

Rio: "How do I dispel this seal?"

Aryon: "You have to defeat the remaining spirits of the Sorcerer Supremes and defeat the Guardian."

Rio: "Who is the Guardian?"

Aryon: "A member of the Volkihar Clan who helped me seal away the rest of their clan. They were the ones who told me that the clan was nearly ready to complete the ritual. They also hold the artifact that the clan was going to use to bring their creator to this reality."

Rio: "Once the seal is undone will the Volkihar be free?"

Aryon: "No, the seal only keeps the pocket dimension sealed. They would have to have the capabilities to traverse dimensions. As far as I knew they couldn't do that. But time passes normally in the pocket dimension so they could have learned how to travel dimensions in that time."

Rio: "How strong was their Clan Head?"

Aryon: "They were very strong but the real issue was they couldn't be killed. They normally wouldn't be able to be sealed away either but thanks to stealing the artifact I was able to seal him. The biggest threat he poses is his Blood Magic. It can bypass any defenses you have no matter what their origin. He used said magic to permanently harm Vishanti when he sent an avatar to help us."

Rio: "Hmm, I see. Is he the only threat in the Volkihar Clan?"

Aryon: "There are none as dangerous as him but there are 5 others who are very dangerous. I have fought 3 of them and they were powerful and difficult to kill. However, I could have killed them if they were alone. Another one of the 5 is the guardian of the seal. The last one was almost never seen but supposedly ran away from the clan and hid somewhere else."

Rio: "Any suggestions as to how I could kill the Volkihar Clan?"

Aryon: "On my body is a totem of an Angel. You can use it to convince Angels to help you in fighting the Volkihar Clan. It is a sacred totem so they must assist you to repay a previous debt they have to me. Beyond that, I would suggest making a weapon that can kill Harkon before undoing the seal as if he doesn't die then all of the fighting is pointless."

Rio: "Got it. Do you have a secret stash of artifacts you never gave to your successor?"

Aryon: "Yes they are in this castle on this mountain. You have to use the blue key I have on my body to access it. Don't use the red key or you will activate the emergency teleportation array."

Bartleby: "Your time is almost up."

Rio: "Last question. Where is the Darkhold you used to make this seal?"

Aryon: "With the other artifacts I kept."

The spirit fades away and so does Bartleby. I take the items on Aryon and decide to take the artifacts he collected. I then focus on making a weapon that can kill Harkon before I undo the seal. I gained a surprising 23 Million from Aryons stash as he stored a lot of cursed items and magical items. None of the items were good enough for me to keep. I left a lot of undead in the chamber near the seal to prevent anyone from disturbing the seal until I was ready. Then I studied a way to kill Harkon based on the information I received as well as an info packet I purchased from the store.

Authors Note:

So some background Yao has been serving as the current Sorcerer Supreme for almost 1500 years. Aryon served as the Sorcerer Supreme for 1100 or so years. Most Sorcerer Supremes only live for 800 or so years. So the Volkihar was sealed for about 2000 Years. The next chapter will be the end of the Vampires for good this time. Some Vampires will be spared though it will be those who are innocent or repenting. Less than 5 will fit that description. I hope you liked the chapter and until next time Ciao.

章節 68: Kindred Judgment

A couple of weeks after I discovered the seal I was finishing a weapon that should allow me to temporarily break Harkons immortality. I also got in contact with the Angels and got their assistance. I decided to not use my own Angels or Undead to avoid questions I didn't want to answer.

'This weapon should work if I made it right. Now next would be talking to the guardian of the seal after the Angels finish off the enthralled spirits.'

I move to the seal location and see that the Angels have just finished off the spirits. I was slightly upset they did it ahead of time but I ignored that to talk with the guardian as the Angels left to heal their injuries. I move to the main chamber to see an area that looks like the area where Serena was sealed in Dimhollow Crypt. Many arches surround a pedestal in the center.

It doesn't take long to solve the puzzle and open the Sarcophagus in the center revealing Serana.

'I am not that surprised it is her. Nor that she has an Elder Scroll on her back.'

Serana: "Ugh, what day is it?"

Rio: "It is currently October 15th, 2006 AD."

Serana: "Wait you aren't a Vampire. Why did you wake me up?"

Rio: "I need to undo the seal so an army of Angels and I can enter the pocket dimension and kill the Volkihar Clan."

Serana: "You are a fool if you think you can kill the Volkihar Clan. Harkon is immortal."

Rio: "He is immortal but not invulnerable. I have a weapon with me that will remove his immortality if only temporarily. I will then destroy his soul with a special technique."

Serana: "You're serious. Well, I am coming with you. However, I won't let you pass unless you promise me to spare my mother. She is innocent, or as innocent as she can be."

Rio: "Very well I can spare her if she doesn't try to kill me. If she does I won't hold back."

Serana: "Fine, that will have to do. Now follow me and I will unlock the seal."

Rio: "Before you do that you should wear this ring. It will prevent the Angels from detecting your Vampiric nature. If they know you are a Vampire they will likely kill you first and ask questions later."

Serana puts on the ring and her eyes become normal amber ones and her undead aura is no longer visible. She then takes me to a wall that has a strange array of symbols and she opens the Elder Scroll. She screams as the scroll blinds her temporarily but whatever she did worked as the sealing array disintegrates. I cast some spells that can heal her safely and she recovers after a while.

Serana: "That hurt way more than Aryon said it would. Now the way is open."

Rio: "I know we just met but could I store that Elder Scroll in a pocket storage space so it isn't stolen? I can sign a magic contract stating I will give it back once Harkon is dead."

Serana: "No need, just take it. I know what would happen if someone got ahold of that and I have a feeling I can trust you."

Serana hands me the Elder Scroll and I place it in my inventory. Once I do that the Angels appear in large numbers. I see the head angel and go to talk to him.

Rio: "Uriel I see you brought nearly every Angel. Are you sure that is wise?"

Uriel: "Ah Rio, yes I assure you it will be fine. Celeste stayed behind to make sure that if we fell Heaven would still survive. That and with the Hell Dimension no more, we Angels have little to do anymore. You killed all the Vampires outside these ones so we have to either purge the last of this filth or die trying."

Rio: "Very well, if that is what you have decided I dare not argue as I know we will likely need all the help we can get. Are your Angels ready?"

Uriel: "Yes we are all ready. Just give the word and we will begin the attack."

Rio: "Then let's begin!"

The Angels rush through the portal to the pocket dimension while I stay behind with Serana to sneak around the battle and attack Harkon.

Rio: "Let's go, the Angels should have drawn all the attention."

Serana nods and I cast an invisibility spell and we move through the portal. Once on the other side, we see Angels fighting Gargoyles, Vampires, and various undead all around the front gate. We sneak past all the fighting and move to Harkons alter where he prays. We get to the altar room and open and close the door behind us.

Harkon: "So my traitorous daughter returns. You can dispel the invisibility I can see through it."

The invisibility spell is removed and Harkon gets a good look at both of us.

Harkon: "It seems you brought a guest with you. Why don't you introduce yourself."

Rio: "I am Rio and I have been tasked with killing you."

Harkon: "Hahaha, straight to the point I like you. Why don't you join my clan? I can offer you power and immortality."

Rio: "No thanks I have both already."

Harkon looks confused for a moment before he sniffs the air.

Harkon: "Ah my apologies, I thought you were a simple human but you are clearly not one of those inferior beings. May I know what you are?"

Rio: "I am an Alicorn. A race of immortal equines that grow strong enough to move the very heavens themselves."

Harkon: "Hmm, I have never heard of them but then again this isn't our original world so I suppose I shouldn't be too surprised. My offer still stands join me and I can give you anything you need."

Rio: "I must still refuse. Now we should really get this battle started."

Harkon: "Yes we really... ARGH!"

I smiled as my Shadow Clone snuck up behind Harkon and stabbed him with the weapon I made. I quickly started to summon the beings I was going to use as fuel for Force Shatter. While I charged the attack I had Serana and a few Shadow Clones distract Harkon.

POV Shadow Clone

I watched Harkon destroy the clone that stabbed him. I then gathered the power in my throat and unleashed the Thu'um.

Clone: "FUS RO DAH!"

Harkon is shocked to hear the Thu'um and is struck by the shockwave sending him flying into the altar and breaking it with the collision. Harkon manages to recover after being struck by numerous spells. He then transforms into the Vampire Lord form.

Harkon: "You deceitful little snake. How dare you break the altar. And how can you use that accursed tongue?!"

Clone: "You face the last Dragonborn! Now feel the wrath of Akatosh."

Harkon: "I-i-impossible, how can you be here?! This isn't Tamriel!"

Clone 1: "Wind Release: Great Breakthrough!"

Clone 2: "Fire Release: Dragon Fire Technique!"

The Jutsus combine and create a massive torrent of high-temperature fire. Harkon creates a magical barrier to block it and it blocks most of the damage but he is still hurt when the barrier shatters.

Harkon: "AAGGGGH!! I'll drain the life from you!"

After using the Combination Jutsu we moved to using more mundane magics. Except for me, I rushed up to Harkon and put my hands to my head.

Clone: "SOLAR FLARE!!!"

SHIIIIIIIIII

Harkon: "AHHHH MY EYES!!!"

I look back and see that the main body is almost done charging Force Shatter. I move away from him so he can't see me.

Harkon: "I do not need my eyes to see you Dragonborn!"

Harkon closes his eyes and summons 2 spectral swords moves at high speeds and quickly kills a clone making me and the others have to use a sword as well to block him or dodge him. We exchange clashes several times before we sense the technique is ready and we jump towards Harkon and use Many Hidden Shadow Snake Hands to hold him still.

Harkon: "Let me go you lesser creature!"

Clones: "Now!"

Harkon: "What? What have you done?! AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!"

Serana: "What is happening?"

Clone: "Don't worry it's just a technique the main body is using. It will shred and shatter his soul."

Harkon: "No... Serana... your own father..."

Harkon falls still and we use Force Lightning to atomize his body into nothingness. After that we clones dispelled.

POV Rio

I nearly collapse as the fatigue of using all those techniques and battling with so many clones against a high-level opponent hits me.

Rio: "Whew, thank goodness that is finally over."

Serana: "Yes, it is all over now. What do I do now?"

Rio: "Well you could come with me as this pocket dimension will only last for another couple of months before collapsing. Oh, and we have to find your mother."

Serana: "Yeah, follow me and I will take you to her laboratory. If she is anywhere it will be there or it will tell us where she went."

I follow her and we get to the laboratory fairly quickly as we don't have to go the back way. I sense very few Vampires are left but the Angels are not in much better condition. I decide to leave it alone for now and we look around the lab.

Serana: "Oh I found out where she went. She used a ritual that put her in a small pocket of reality where she became frozen in time. I think we have everything here to undo it."

Rio: "I suggest we wait or else the Angels might stop us or kill your mother once she is free."

Serana: "Yeah you are probably right. How are the Angels doing?"

Rio: "Hmm, a few hundred remain compared to a dozen or so Vampires remaining. I sense Uriel but he seems unconscious."

Serana: "Should we go help them?"

Rio: "No, despite what you may think we aren't allies. I don't trust them. I will let the current ones fight it out. I can only sense one strong Vampire left so if all the Angels are killed then I will step in."

After waiting for 40 or so minutes I feel the last Angel fall. I was surprised to see that 1 Vampire is still alive if only barely.

Rio: "Okay, the Angels somehow lost. Let's go see the only surviving Vampire."

We walk to the main hall where we see a female Vampire drinking the blood of everything she can get her claws on. She seems to be missing her left arm and some of her face is also missing.

Rio: "Do you know her?"

Serana: "Yes, her name is Fura Bloodmouth. She is one of the strongest Vampires. She has fought every Vampire and won against all of them except my father and mother. Even I have lost to her many times. She was my combat instructor."

Fura: "Serana! Is that you? I can't see very well as I am missing an eye and the other is damaged."

Rio: "Do we kill her?"

Serana: "Definitely, she is the most loyal to my father and she is anything but innocent."

I don't have to hear more as I quickly rush her and cut her head off with my lightsaber. She doesn't even respond before her head hits the ground.

Fura: "Wait why are you killing me Serana? We are family?"

I disintegrate the body and start the scrapping procedures as I walk back to the lab to release Seranas mother. Team Galactic and many of my clones start taking everything valuable and storing it before we use the R.E.M. to take all the matter in this pocket dimension or if that fails I can sell this pocket dimension to the system. Once we get back in the lab we gather all the ingredients and begin the ritual.

Rio: "Are you sure this ritual is safe?"

Serana: "I don't know, maybe?"

Rio: "Wait, what do you mean maybe? You know what you are doing right?"

Serana: "Uh, um. Look over there!"

I turn around and when I turn back I see she started the final spell. I have barely a few seconds to respond as I have to jump away as a massive explosion occurs. I go flying and hit a wall.

Rio: "Ugh, really. I am not sure what I am more upset by, being thrown into the wall or the fact I fell for one of the oldest tricks in the book."

I look around and I have to hold in my laugh as I see Serana but the explosion made her hair become an afro.

Serana: "Why are you laughing?"

Valerica: "Serana is that you? Why is your hair so messy?"

Rio: "HAHAHAHA!"

Valerica: "And who is that?"

Serana: "Mother, I have a lot to talk to you about and my hair is like this because I am... uh trying a new style. Yeah."

Valerica: "Sweetie I love you but you look ridiculous."

I am dying on the floor laughing but stop when Serana shoots a Lightning Bolt Spell at me. I look at her and see her glaring at me. I decide to teleport away and let them catch up with each other. As I leave I get a system notification.

[Name: Auriel's Bow

A Bow of Aedric origin. This bow is indestructible. Arrows shot from this bow are enchanted to never miss. It can also afflict the target with fire, lightning, and sun damage. It can drain the magical energy of the target as well as put them to sleep. When channeling the Sun one can call upon the Sun to strike at their foe. Any of the above-listed effects can be toggled at any point during or after the arrow is loosed. ]

[Name: Auriel's Shield

A Shield of Aedric origin. This shield is indestructible. When equipped will bestow the following effects on the wielder. Fire Immunity, Constant Healing, Absorb Impacts, Enhanced Durability/Endurance, and Refelct 50% of All Magic. Further the more the shield blocks or absorbs the more powerful a counterblast that can be unleashed. Can be wielded even while only on the user's back.]

{Blessing Of The Night:

During the night the user receives a buff that increases all stats by 25%. Also gains the favor of all creatures of the night or beings associated with the night. Can see in complete darkness regardless of the time of day. This makes it very difficult to detect the user during the night. }

{Bend Will Shout:

Your Voice bends the very stones to your will. As it gains power, animals, people, and even dragons must do your bidding. When using this shout the user can control others and make them temporary allies. The shout consists of three words. GOL HAH DOV. }

{Summon Durnehviir

Allows the user to summon Durnehviir wherever the user wants. Durnehviir will be completely loyal to the summoner. They will be completely free of the Soul Cairn. Is restored to perfect health. }

After looking over what I got I go back to supervising the scrapping.

Authors Note:

Vampires are now basically extinct. The only Vampires that are left are Shmebulock, Serana, Valerica, and Marceline. Auriel's Shield can technically be used like Captain America's shield as it can absorb and ricochet off walls or impacts. The Angels are technically a neutral faction but close to a hostile faction so Rio intends on getting rid of them. I hope you enjoyed the chapter and until next time Ciao.
