*Ring*
A chime echoed throughout the house, signaling that dinner was ready.
Isaac left his room and started walking down the long corridors.
Descending the stairs until he reached the first floor took some time, but he didn't rush.
Isaac entered the dining room and saw six figures sitting. Steaming plates were piled high on the table.
''Isaac.'' Isabella gently smiled and pointed at the empty seat beside her.
Isaac sat down next to her and glanced at the other individuals sitting around the table.
In the main seat of the table was a man with short brown hair, grey eyes, and handsome facial features. He was wearing his usual business suit, which made him look both dignified and intimidating. He was Isaac's father, Maxwell.
A young man with slightly longer brown hair and sharp eyebrows sat on the other side of the table. He had a lean body that lacked muscle. He was rather ordinary, apart from a few unique features. Particularly his ear piercings made him look completely unique. This was Isaac's big brother, Marvin.
Next to Marvin, a young boy of around eleven was swinging his feet cheerfully. He had short black hair to go along with his many adorable features. His blue eyes were scanning every piece of food on the table hungrily. He was Isaac's younger brother, Mark.
Next to Mark sat a beautiful young woman. She had long brown hair, blue eyes, and a curvaceous body. She was Isaac's older sister, Sophia.
Sitting beside Isaac was another beautiful young woman around the age of sixteen. She had long black hair, delicate-looking eyebrows, and smooth-looking skin.
Her body was petite, aside from her decent-sized breasts. This young woman's defining features were her soft-looking lips and cute pointed nose. She was Isaac's younger sister, Alice.
On Isaac's other side, his mother was sitting. Isabella had beautiful black hair, blue eyes, and a lovely face. Her long legs led up to her perfect hourglass figure, and she didn't look any worse after having so many children. She could easily pass for a young woman in her twenties.
This was the Whitelock family.
They all placed their hands in a praying posture.
Maxwell opened his mouth, ''Goddess of Snow. Thank you for blessing this meal.''
After the simple prayer, they picked up their forks and knives and started enjoying their dinner.
Maxwell put a piece of steak in his mouth and chewed slowly.
''How was school?'' Maxwell asked.
''Fine,'' Marvin answered.
''I made new friends!'' Mark cheerfully said.
''Fine,'' Sophia answered.
''It was alright...'' Alice said quietly.
''...'' Isaac was quiet.
Maxwell nodded and turned his gaze towards Isaac, ''Isaac, what have you been up to today?''
''I went for a walk today,'' Isaac answered.
Maxwell put his fork and knife on the plate— he wiped his mouth with a napkin, ''Why did you do that?''
Isabella sighed.
Alice looked toward Isaac with worry and concern, her face slightly paled.
''It was only a simple walk...'' Isaac sighed and replied.
Alice grabbed his hand, ''Don't go alone, ever again!''
''That was very reckless.'' Maxwell agreed. He looked with gentle eyes towards Isaac, ''Tell me when you want to go for a walk. I will get bodyguards for you.''
Isaac sighed again and nodded.
Isabella then changed the conversation topic, ''Isaac bought VR Helmet— apparently, he is planning to play White Online.''
Maxwell was surprised, ''Really?''
Isaac nodded, ''I wanted to try.''
Maxwell smiled, ''My company has invested in White Online as well.''
''Really?'' Isaac was surprised.
Isabella wasn't surprised— she already knew how much White Online would impact the world in the future.
Maxwell frowned slightly and kept eating in silence.
Isaac was about to continue eating but noticed his hand was trapped by Alice's.
''Alice...'' Isaac whispered.
Alice turned her adorable yet beautiful face towards Isaac, ''Yes, brother?'' She whispered quietly— only Isaac could hear her.
''Can I get my hand back?'' He whispered in reply.
Alice used her thumb to feel Isaac's soft skin before reluctantly taking her hand back.
Isaac smiled wryly, a bit embarrassed at how protective the others were over him. He tried to ignore it and started concentrating on his dinner.
Mark ate quickly, stuffing as much food as possible into his mouth.
Marvin and Sophia ate slowly, neither saying a word.
Isaac emptied his plate quickly before he stood up and said, ''Thanks for dinner.''
''Are you sure you ate enough?'' Isabella curiously asked.
Isaac nodded, ''I did, mom.''
Maxwell then spoke up, ''Isaac, have you decided on your class in the game yet?''
Isaac shook his head, ''I haven't learned anything about the game yet.''
Maxwell replied seriously, ''Choose wisely.''
Isaac nodded and left the dining hall, wondering why his father would be so concerned with a game.
Shortly after, he arrived in his room again.
He grabbed his laptop, which was the newest model available.
Isaac sat on his bed and leaned his back against the wall.
After turning on his laptop, he quickly visited White Online's official website.
Isaac scrolled down and used his mouse to click [Class]
[Fighter; Swordsman - Knight - Brawler - Thief - Assassin]
[Shooter; Marksman - Gunner - Hitman - Archer - Hunter]
[Support; Medic - Healer - Potion Master - Poison Master - Priest]
[Mixed; Paladin - Spellcaster - Trap Master - Trickster - Dark Priest]
[Reminder: There are Hidden Classes, but they aren't necessarily stronger!]
''Fighter... Shooter... Support... Mixed...'' Isaac read through the website, trying to find the descriptions of every Class, but he couldn't find any.
A separate forum was also located on the website, which was currently bustling.
The top three most viewed forums were from players who were apparently ''Beta Testers.''
Isaac read through those forums with curiosity.
He was greatly disappointed.
The Beta Testers only said how amazing the game looked but didn't say a word about the gameplay.
Obviously, they were hiding any critical information.
Isaac left the forums and scrolled through the rest of the website with interest.
Then, he came across a fascinating article.
[Legacies]
Isaac clicked it out of curiosity.
[You need to find a Legacy to be a professional in White Online! There are thousands of Legacies, and each of them makes you dozens of times stronger! But there are, of course, different strengths amongst the Legacies.]
[No Legacy; No one has a Legacy Rank at the start, which means you haven't inherited anyone's will or techniques.]
[Ordinary Legacy; A Legacy left behind by an unrecognized figure. It is still more powerful than not having a Legacy.]
[Special Legacy; The Legacy of a well-known figure, it can be a historical figure or a figure from a fairytale.]
[Mythical Legacy; The Legacy of Legendary figure! It can be a historical figure who is very well known, or it can be a very unique existence that may not have lived at all!]
[Godly Legacy; A Legacy of the Gods! It is the most powerful type of Legacy. If you find one, you are destined to soar to the skies! You will be the Incarnation of the God of your Legacy!]
Isaac wasn't very interested in Legacies; it was mainly for the players who wanted to go pro.
Isaac closed the laptop and put it back on his desk.
He looked toward the window and watched the sun disappear from the sky.
*Knock* *Knock*
Isaac heard knocking from the door, ''Come in.''
The door was opened by his father, Maxwell.
''Dad?''
Maxwell nodded, ''Are you busy?''
Isaac shook his head, ''I Just finished reading about the Classes and Legacies of White Online.''
Maxwell nodded and sat down on his bed, ''Son, are you planning to play White Online casually or seriously?''
Isaac scratched his head, ''I am probably going to get bored of it, to be honest.''
Maxwell looked at him, ''If you don't get bored, what then?''
''I will keep playing, I guess...'' Isaac said, ''Why are you asking me?''
''The world... It won't be the same after White Online's release... The Legacies are more than what they appear to be on the surface.''
Isaac looked confused, but his father didn't say anything else.
Maxwell patted Isaac's shoulder and left the room, leaving his son dazed and alone.
But just a few minutes later, another knock came.
''Come in,'' Isaac mumbled.
A beautiful young woman opened the door this time.
''Alice,'' Isaac said with a smile.
Alice smiled sweetly and sat down on his bed.
''You shouldn't have gone outside— I was worried.'' She pouted.
Isaac rolled his eyes, ''I am your big brother— I should be worried about you.''
Alice giggled and moved closer to Isaac, ''Worried... About what?'' She turned her beautiful blue eyes towards Isaac.
''About many things,'' Isaac sighed.
Alice pouted, ''That was not the right answer.''
Isaac chuckled and lay down on the bed.
Alice lay down as well and put her head on his shoulder.
''My friends talked about White Online today... Most of them plan to skip school to play it,'' Alice giggled.
''The game seems interesting,'' Isaac nodded.
Alice turned her head towards him, ''Be careful of the girls you meet, alright?''
Isaac smiled, ''Why?''
''They might trick you,'' She said softly, hopping off the bed and running toward the door.
Isaac scratched his cheek, ''I won't be tricked, you know me.''
Alice turned her head and showed her tongue, ''You are usually very dense!''
Isaac laughed and shook his head, ''In the past, maybe... But now I am more careful.''
Alice opened the door; she took one last glance at Isaac.
She pouted, 'You should have known that your best friend liked you... But because you didn't respond to her feelings... That incident happened.'
She didn't say this aloud as she closed the door behind her.
Isaac sighed and stared up at the ceiling.
He lay down on the bed in silence until his eyelids became heavy.
Shortly after, he drifted to sleep...
The sky started brightening.
A bright light filtered through the window, illuminating a luxurious king-size bed.
A handsome, or more accurately, a beautiful young man lay sleeping in this bed.
This man slept without a blanket, and his clothes were loaded with wrinkles.
As the light landed on Isaac's figure, he groggily stood up.
''I fell asleep...'' Isaac facepalmed— he was still wearing his clothes from the day before.
He took them off and stepped into his bathroom.
After taking a cold shower and brushing his teeth, Isaac left the bathroom and opened his wardrobe.
He grabbed a plain black t-shirt, boxers, and a pair of white sweatpants.
Finally, he snatched up his phone and took a look at the time.
[10.34 A.M]
''There is still time...'' Isaac murmured before leaving his room. He was a bit worried that he'd overslept.
His family was gone— leaving only the caretakers who kept the house clean and cooked the family's meals.
His siblings had gone to school, and his parents had already left for work.
Isaac went to the kitchen, grabbed a left-over sandwich from breakfast, and greedily munched it down.
Two cameras pointed at Isaac's figure, but he'd gotten used to it by now.
There were hundreds of cameras throughout the mansion, but he didn't allow them in his room, even though his parents insisted.
There was a simple explanation for this. Since Isaac was left alone in the mansion with only strangers around him, his parents took extra precautions. They even went as far as looking at the cameras every 10 minutes to make sure that he was safe.
Not only this but there were also thirty bodyguards stationed nearby to rush in at a moment's notice.
It was overkill, in his opinion, but no one listened to Isaac's complaints.
Isaac left the kitchen and plopped down on the couch in the living room. He flipped the television over to the News, where they were talking about White Online.
There was only a little over an hour remaining until the servers officially opened!
Every second, the Newscasters were getting more and more excited.
A group of servants entered the house while Isaac sat watching the News. From their appearance, it looked like they had finished cleaning the snow from the yard.
''Young master.''
They all bowed respectfully as they passed him, heading toward their next destination.
Isaac nodded towards them in turn before lying down on the comfortable sofa.
After staring at the ceiling for a few seconds, he opened his phone and watched the Livestream of one of his favorite streamers.
The phone screen showed a gentle-looking man speaking with his viewers. A countdown for the opening of the White Online servers was displayed in the upper left corner of the screen.
''Only one hour remaining, everyone!'' The man shouted excitedly; there was a large font on the bottom of the screen with his name displayed [Underlord] and a constant count of his viewers [Viewers: 123,940]
While he was chatting with his viewers, Isaac closed his eyes and listened to the man's commentary.
The stream's chat was going crazy. Some kids were bragging about not going to school so that they could play White Online.
Underlord sternly told them not to skip school, but there was an unmistakable hint of amusement in his eyes.
30 minutes later.
''Only 30 minutes left!'' Underlord's voice echoed in Isaac's ears.
20 minutes later.
''Only 20 minutes left!''
10 minutes later.
''Only 10 minutes left!''
5 minutes later.
''It's time to log in! Only 5 minutes left!''
After those words, Isaac opened his eyes and shut off the phone.
He went straight towards his room and grabbed the VR helmet from his wardrobe.
There was no need to hook a power supply to the VR helmet— as long as there was an internet connection, it would work.
Isaac lay down on his bed and slid the helmet onto his head.
[Connecting...]
Isaac's face showed little emotion as he stared at the floating words.
One moment, he could only see the visor in front of him. The next...
He only saw a pure white light.
[Hello, User!]
A voice resounded around Isaac, but he ignored it and went to the [Games] section.
He didn't even have to search. White Online was located in the number one position!
He tapped on the icon with his finger.
[White Online - 99$]
''Ah... Damn.'' Isaac felt bitter— he had to use the last 100$ his mother gave him yesterday.
But he pressed the word [Buy] anyway.
He had to punch in all kinds of credit card information.
After that, his purchase was completed, and the game was downloaded instantly. This was one of the many perks of living in this luxurious neighborhood.
[Play]
Isaac pressed Play, and his vision instantly turned dark.
He floated in a small space with a clock hanging in front of him. Isaac was pleased to see he'd managed to purchase the game before the timers had counted down.
[00:59...]
[00:21...]
[00:01...]
[Welcome to White Online!]
Isaac suddenly appeared in a small garden. Beautiful flowers and tall bushes sprouted around him, locking him in a tiny enclosure with a wooden table standing in the center.
There were two seats. One stood next to where Isaac was standing, and the other was already occupied.
A beautiful woman sat, wearing a gorgeous white robe, making her figure look mesmerizing and appealing.
The white-colored robes were slightly baggy, but they would only make most wonder what was hiding underneath.
The woman looked cold, ice cold.
She didn't even glance at Isaac and only kept drinking her tea.
Isaac walked cautiously toward the table.
''May I sit?'' He asked.
The stern-looking woman didn't answer.
''I suppose I'll just sit then?'' Isaac said with uncertainty, dropping gently into the chair.
Isaac sat silently, waiting for the woman to finish her tea.
It took a whole five minutes, but she finally placed her cup on the table and turned toward Isaac.
''Name.'' The woman said bluntly.
''Isaac.''
''Isaac? Hmm... It seems that name has been already chosen,'' The woman said impatiently, ''Choose another one.''
''Oh, I was supposed to choose a nickname? Alright then.'' Isaac started thinking deeply.
The woman kept staring at him with her cold eyes.
Isaac spent 1 minute...
2 minutes...
Even after 3 minutes, he didn't stop thinking.
The woman's eyebrows twitched, ''Choose already!''
''God damn it!'' Isaac pressed his hand to his forehead.
''What?''
Isaac sighed and looked at her, ''I had a good nickname on the tip of my tongue, but you had to ruin it. I need to think again!''
After those words, he once again began to mull over his choices. A name was a big decision, after all!
Thick black marks started emerging on the woman's previously flawless forehead.
1 minute...
2 minutes...
3 minutes...
The woman's face glowed red with anger— she bit her lips angrily, staring at the man before her.
After 5 minutes, Isaac finally exclaimed, ''I have a good one!''
''Tell me!'' The woman growled.
''Isaac2,'' Isaac replied.
The woman gritted her teeth angrily, ''THAT NAME IS TAKEN!''
''Isaac3?''
''TAKEN!''
''Isaac4?''
''TAKEEEN!''
Isaac scratched his head, ''I'll have to think of another one then.''
The woman was furious at this point.
1 minute...
2 minutes...
3 minutes...
10 minutes...
The woman stopped having the energy to be angry at this point— she sat silently while counting the number of flowers in the garden.
''I GOT ONE!'' Isaac exclaimed.
''I highly doubt that,'' The woman sighed with dead-looking eyes.
''Wraith!'' Isaac crossed his arms and proudly declared.
''IT'S NOT TAKEN, YEEES!'' The woman cheered and snapped her fingers.
The word [Wraith] appeared on top of Isaac's head.
''Hurry and choose your Class!'' The woman said with hope. The young man in front of her must have thought of this beforehand... right?!
Isaac shifted into a thinking posture, ''Which one...''
The woman's face went pale, ''Y-You don't know?''
Isaac shook his head.
The woman put all the available classes in front of Isaac.
But he didn't change his expression.
''C-Choose one, please!''
''Hmm...'' Isaac was still thinking.
''FINE, I WILL CHOOSE ONE FOR YOU!'' The woman snapped her fingers.
The word [Marksman] appeared in front of Isaac.
''Marksman?'' Isaac shrugged, ''Fine by me.''
The woman sighed and once again snapped her fingers, ''Choose where to put your stat points, then you can leave!''
Isaac nodded, and suddenly, a blue-colored Interface appeared in front of him.

''These are your stats. Every class has a different special stat, and your special stat is Precision!'' The woman said.
Isaac nodded and started placing his stats quickly.
The woman looked confused, ''What are you doing? Shouldn't you at least think about it?! Where you place your stat points is crucial!''
''Done,'' Isaac said, ignoring the shocked woman.
''Why did I get this moron...'' The woman sighed.
The Interface had now changed.

Isaac nodded, he was pleased with his decision.
''Are we done here?'' Isaac asked.
The woman was still massaging her temples, not even looking at his stats, ''Yes...''
*Snap*
She snapped her fingers, and Isaac's figure began to fade. He soon turned into a shimmer and disappeared from the small garden.
The woman lazily fell onto her chair, took a few deep breaths, and enjoyed the calm of the surrounding nature.
Her reprieve was quickly interrupted.
A black portal materialized in the garden.
The woman watched as an older man appeared, staring at her angrily.
''Khione!'' The old man shouted.
Khione instantly stood up and saluted, ''Old geezer, what do you want!''
The old man chopped her head, ''Call me by my name!''
Khione clicked her tongue, ''Fine... Boreas.''
Boreas nodded, ''How was the young man?''
Khione clicked her tongue, ''Why did I get retarded one?''
''Retarded?'' Boreas looked at her strangely, ''He was supposed to be a brilliant individual.''
Khione looked at him with narrowed eyes, ''... Are you sure about that?''
Boreas nodded, ''He was a very sharp individual.''
Khione then went blank— she gritted her teeth, ''THAT FUCKING CUNT! HE WAS MAKING FUN OF ME!''
She started stomping on the nearby flowers, taking her anger out on the beautiful garden.
Boreas rolled his eyes and stopped her rampage, ''Calm down, you are Goddess. Act like it.''
Khione gritted her teeth and tromped toward the black portal.
Boreas wiped the sweat from his forehead and followed behind the angry Goddess.
