Chương 79: Revelations
Lyra's heart pounded as she took in the horrific scene before her. A young woman in a golden dress lay motionless on the floor, her mask askew to reveal glassy, lifeless eyes. But it was the two sharp puncture wounds on her pale neck that made Lyra's blood run cold.
"Vampire," she hissed, instinctively reaching beneath the folds of her crimson gown and extracting a gleaming set a battle elixirs.
In a flash, Lilith and Clara were at her side, ready despite the finery of their outfits. The three friends fanned out, scanning the ballroom for any sign of the creature responsible for this brutal attack.
That's when Lyra spotted the dark, cloaked figure slipping through a side door, a bloody grin visible beneath the sinister porcelain mask. "There!" she shouted, giving chase at once with Lilith and Clara on her heels.
They spilled out into a dimly lit hallway lined with dusty suits of armor. Shrieks and shouts echoed all around them as partygoers fled the ballroom in panic. Lyra utilizes her essence technique to pick up the vampire's trail, her vials gripped tightly in anticipation.
A haunting laugh rang out, and the cloaked figure suddenly materialized before them as if born from the shadows themselves. "Leaving so soon?" a silky voice taunted from beneath the mask. "But the night is still so young, and I've been looking forward to this dance."
With a roar of fury, Clara launched herself at the vampire, her essence techinque tearing through where their enemy had stood only a moment before. The vampire was inhumanly fast, a blur of motion as it rained vicious blows down upon them.
Lyra ducked and weaved, praticing with elias honed her physical reflexs as she looked for an opening. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see Lillth muttering an incantation, essence tehcnique shouting "Love Arrow" Lillth unveil her new tehcnique she created a long range arrow comprosied her essence Shooting at the Vampire. After getting hit it didnt have no impact but lillth than demands who you are. Then unamed vampire struggling to resisit lillth tempations
Then Lyra saw her chance. As the creature started moan beckonig to Lilith's will, its back was briefly exposed. Gathering every ounce of her power, Lyra hurled the her exlirs with perfect accuracy. She held her breath, waiting for the telltale burst of ash and dust that would signal their victory.
But it never came. To Lyra's horror, the elixir bounced harmlessly away as the vampire turned, wrenching off its mask to reveal Adrian's hauntingly familiar features.
"No..." Lyra whispered, her stake falling from limp fingers as devastation washed over her. This night of dreamlike terrors had somehow become an inescapable nightmare.
The team notices a weakened Adrian and his undisguised hunger as he took a step toward Lyra, his elongated fangs now visible. "I'm afraid the game has only just begun, my dear."
With a flick of his wrist, he sent the three friends crashing into the walls in an explosion of pulverized brick. Unveiling his Essence technique ShadowFire Bolt.
