Capítulo 27: Storm is Brewing
Claus gets up from his seat and helps Cathleen to go home.
'Let's see Zed's other girl' He thought.
Claus took Cathleen all the way to Zed's mansion while scheming inside his head.
Arriving at Zed's mansion it's already night, Claus held Cathleen by her waist and knocked on the gate. The gate has a magic ring when someone touches the gate it will give a ring sound inside the mansion.
Fabiola heard the ring, 'Zed!' She thought.
She take hurry steps towards the gate, Opening the mansion door she can see that it's not Zed so she lazily walks there.
She sees a young man wearing a blue robe while sustaining Cathleen on his hand beside him. Fabiola opens the gate and takes Cathleen away from him, She put on a disgusted look on her face.
"Don't misunderstand young miss, I'm Cathleen's new friend. We talk for a while in an inn near the Central Shop and she got drunk so I brought her home, you can ask her when she wakes up" said Claus trying to be as convincing as possible.
"Ok I will ask her, Thank you for bringing her home" replied Fabiola.
Claus gives Fabiola a smile and left after bidding a good night.
The night passed and it is officially two days since Zed leaves for his assessment.
Zed wakes up from the barrack early morning, The barracks is already bustling because everyone is getting ready for their early training.
Today Zed will have to let Leonardo sees his spear-throwing skills, He does his usual training then he goes to the artillery training field.
As he walks to the training field, He is given an admiration look by the people he passes. The story of him beating a full-fledge Lovlarix has spread into every military section because it's not an everyday thing that a rookie beating a senior.
Leonardo is already waiting as Zed arrives at the training field.
"You are late, Take that stone weighing three tons, run around the training field, and don't forget to shout 'I will never be late again'" Leonardo ordered Zed ruthlessly.
'I thought the commander will not be on time so I take my time to walk here' He thought with a wry smile on his face.
After doing the punishment and getting teased by the soldiers here, Zed is sweating all over. One has to know that even if Zed can punch with power more than three tons it is a different thing to lift it up and run with it.
"Okay now let me introduce you to one of the Elite Soldiers in the artillery section, He is Joel Wells. Introduce yourself, Joel" Introduced Leonardo to Zed.
"Hey, I am Joel Wells twenty-two years old level four Noble Mage rank. I've been in artillery section for about two years" Joel said with an energetic look on his face.
Zed with a smile replied, "I am Zed Lenvers, fifteen years old level six Knight rank. Nice to meet you, Joel".
Hearing Zed's rank, Joel almost dropped his tears, 'Have I been doing the wrong thing all my life?' he thought sadly while covering his mouth.
After getting to know each other, Leonardo tells Zed to watch Joel use his skills.
"The artillery will be divided into different parts, I am a mage with massive area damage. Watch" Explained Joel.
Joel's body let out a dark black aura, his eyes turn black. "I am the bringer of obliteration, oh dark goddess give me power to obliterate my enemies, Obliteration of the night!"
As he finished his chanting, Dark dots appeared in front of him and fall down slowly. The black dots cover one hundred meters in length when the black dot hit the ground it explodes with dark flames.
Zed is fascinated by the scene, this spell literally erases everything in front of him. The fire element combined with dark elements resulting in the fire containing corruption making it more lethal.
Dark element is a rare basic element side to side with the light element.
Thanks to the defense magic the training ground didn't suffer any damage because it's made with Ice frevor.
'Wait...Ice frevor?! oh my god that's a level two elemental frevor!' His eyes went round when realizing the fact.
For Mages class fighter, in order to step into Sorcerer rank, they need to comprehend a level two element frevor such as Ice, Lava, Smoke, Metal, Lightning, and other unknown elements. These elements will be produced by combining the needed elements to create them. Level two elements are much stronger in every aspect than basic elements.
This defense magic surrounding the training ground is made by an expert in Sorcerer rank, 'It's probably made by the king' Zed thought.
"As you can see, Powerful area damage spells will need longer chanting that's why we need protection from the versatile department" Explained Joel.
Zed admired Joel for his magic but Zed didn't want to lose in showing off, He takes a spear provided by Leonardo and get to his stance.
He set the Enchanted Zinc as his target. Enchanted Zinc is a material to make Hardened Equipment and can only be scratched or destroyed by fighters above Knight rank.
Zed muster all of his strength into this throw, His muscle is swelling as he throws his spear.
CRACK!
The spear produce a thunder sound when it left Zed's hand making the weaker onlooking crowd cover their ears, The spear ripped through the air aiming at the Enchanted Zinc.
BOOM!
The spear cut through the Enchanted Zinc making a big chunk of it gone missing, The onlookers is amazed.
Joel may be better at making damage to a group of people but there is no doubt that if the mission is to target one person Zed's skill will be needed.
Leonardo gives praises to Zed while Joel gives Zed a thumbs up.

Inside Zed's mansion.
Cathleen wakes up from her bed feeling dizzy, She looked around and relieved that she is not in some random guy's house.
She remembered hazily what Claus told her yesterday, 'Just find a way to make me become an acquaintance with the girl, Crush this stone if you want to meet up in the same inn.' he said.
Just as she was remembering the door opened and Fabiola comes in.
"So how are you feeling? Here drink this tea to help you sober up" Fabiola says while giving Cathleen a cup of hot tea.
"Thank You" replied Cathleen while taking the tea.
Silence covered the room as Cathleen drinks her tea, Then Fabiola decided to ask.
"So who is that guy that brings you home? Did he do anything to you?"
Cathleen has an absent look on her face, then she answered, "Nope on contrast he is super fun to talk to, I have fun talking to him yesterday and got a little carried away on the drinking" after taking a short breath she continues, "You should come next time".
Fabiola thinks briefly and says "Shouldn't you tell Zed first if you want to go out? and if he's fun I suppose I can come next time".
Hearing this Cathleen's eyes lit up, "Okay then that next time is today let's go!".
"Eh?, Right now? I haven't even wash yet" Fabiola is caught off guard and unprepared, she continues "Are you sure Zed will not get mad because we didn't tell him?".
"Stop with the servant attitude let's just have fun!" replied Cathleen.

In an inn near the Central Shop
"Claus over here!!" Cathleen says while waving her hand at Claus.
"Oh Hi, Well isn't it the scary and possessive girl I met before" Said Claus jokingly to Fabiola while sitting with them.
Hearing this Fabiola can only huff grumpily, "Well my friend Cathleen is brought back by a stranger, How can I not be suspicious?"
They talk lightly and laugh once in a while.
"So you guys from Eplodon City and wants to join the Lovlarix?" asked Claus
"No, I'm here only to accompany Zed" replied Fabiola.
"Wait what? Do you mean THE Zed Lenvers?" Asked Claus with a surprised look.
"Yes, that Zed" answered Fabiola timidly.
Looking at Fabiola's reaction, Claus smile sinisterly for a brief moment and go back to his cheerful and friendly expression.
"What's so good about him? He only makes us train, We are mages why do we need to train our physical body?" Said Cathleen with a mixed of helpless and grumpy expression on her face.
They talk and walk around the kingdom, they separate when it's night.
"So how was it pretty fun right? it's so boring to train all the time" Asked Cathleen.
"Hmm it's pretty fun, Claus seems like a good guy as well" replied Fabiola happily.
Meanwhile, Zed is tired after practicing and showing his skills to the commander. He sits on his bunk bed when suddenly he feels awful.
'Why do I feel that somethings about to happened?' Zed thought.
