'Tsk.'
'Whatever, I'm close enough you old hag!' Loki shouted in his mind before vanishing right as he was about to be impaled as he reappeared outside the forest with a single teleportation.
Loki began to run once again while doing his best to dodge the sharp claws from the various devils of the abyss that Luna had tied down to the ground with her vines and made sure not to waste any more of his spirituality.
But things weren't as easy as he had expected.
Just as Loki was about to enter the area around the giant tree, several fleshy tumours opened up on the tree as a deafening *SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECH* pierced through the entire camp, sending anyone that was not a demigod into a fit of complications.
Luna dropped to the floor, her body mutating, other people already on the floor had started to closely resemble monsters as they barely managed to hold onto their sanity.
Curiously along with the weasleys who were turning into monsters, Harry managed to somehow maintain his sanity as he looked around in panic while clutching his forehead tightly and bending over in pain.
While Loki who was the nearest of them all found himself feeling like a train had smothered him onto its tracks. His mind shattered and his body felt like it was no longer his.
But suddenly an imperceptible calm silence spread throughout the camp, causing everyone awake to wonder who it was that had given them this reprieve.
Through a stroke of miraculous luck, Sirius who was outside the range of the monstrous tree standing beside Harry had managed to retain sanity just enough to help everyone by singing a poem praising Evernight.
"Oh, the threat of horror, the hope of crimson cries!"
"One thing at least is certain- that this Life flies;"
"One thing is certain, and the rest is Lies;"
"The flower that has once bloomed forever dies."
A wave of serene bliss passed over all the participants in the camp, putting to sleep those who were rousing from their slumber and calming the beasts that had escaped the Abyss.
Loki wasted no time, already being under the effects of cogitation and having the grey fog to help him, Loki quickly retained his focus and rushed towards the portal.
The beasts were one beat too late to catch up with him since they had been lulled into a false sense of security and so it seemed that Loki was about to reach the tree and drop the damn thing for good by helping Nicolas and Prenelle.
But shockingly, the moment Loki stepped foot along the fleshy roots of the tall thick mammalian tree, the ever-regenerating tree blew up its regeneration speed growing multifold, with new roots burying the ground and turning everything over as they shot towards Loki with all their speed to skewer him through his back.
However, Loki who was the target of the tree's speedy attacks, revealed a positive smile.
'Did you think I would not have expected this!?'
Loki jumped to dodge the roots that were attacking him and at the last moment when he was about to be touched by the roots, he vanished, completely. Abandoning the roots entirely and appearing right under the head of the woman who was mutated into the tree.
Loki reappeared at the midsection of the tree, and he whispered a spell while he was in the air, "Velox Acus".
Loki had used his own spell to cause a thin spinning needle to appear right at the tip of his wand. But instead of launching it at anything, as he was falling down under the influence of gravity, Loki jabbed it into something.
A sickening *squelch* spoke volumes in the blanket of silence Sirius had created as Loki stabbed his wand's head through the crown and into the throat of the woman fused into the tree.
But that wasn't enough.
The woman's white eyes locked onto Loki as she smiled in a hair-raising manner as if asking, 'Is that all?'
Yet, Loki wasn't disheartened, pouring almost all of his remaining spirituality into the wand, he shouted.
"BOMBARDA MAXIMA!!!"
*RRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE*
The woman let out a shrill scream causing Loki's ears to bleed and his eyeballs to explode, yet Loki kept his grip on the branches and held his wand while pouring spirituality into it.
Through his spirit vision, Loki saw the symmetrical figure of his spirituality take shape and as soon as it did he saw a spark lighting up.
And after that, a blinding light filled his vision as the woman's head bulged for a second before exploding into a gooey mess along with the entire mid section of the tree behind her.
As soon as the woman exploded, the tree began to rot and decay, its rotting branches slowly letting in more and more crimson beams of moonlight into the camp that did their work of ridding the entire place of its filthy corruption well.
Being nearest to the tree however, Loki was the last person to be graced by the crimson tree light.
Inside the blood-red light that was helping the mammalian tree however, Loki saw several blobs of different colours floating inside as if it was someone's body but a little modified.
There were several runes in the light that Loki recognised, some simple things like walking, breathing and swimming of all things.
But out of sheer arrogance, he who was currently bathed in the blood-red light used his ability to steal something from it by performing the motion of flicking his wrist.
'.....did it work?'
Loki's last memory after that was falling down from the sky.
Nicholas and Prenelle completely uprooted the tree, forcing it away from its attempts at trying to stay rooted and regain dominance by healing fully and grabbing a random sacrifice as a replacement for the woman whose head Loki had exploded.
Sirius ran to catch Loki and not let him shatter any of his bones and when he finally saw the boy in his hands, he saw him smiling, as if he had done the biggest thing he could've ever done and he was proud of it.
'Mad boy!'
'Who the hell would've thought he'd go so close to the damn tree!?'
'Is he friends with Harry!? I remember seeing him when he'd come in with Snape at the Shrieking Shack.'
'I'm sure James and the rest of the Marauders would've loved him.'
'The balls on this kid sure are heavy.'
Nicolas and Prenelle rushed towards Loki as soon as the tree stopped moving and started to decay pulling him out of Sirius's embrace before laying him on the ground and performing several tests.
Thin crimson smoke began to leak from Loki's body as Prenelle performed various tests.
She looked at Loki's body with furrowed brows as she tapped various spots and suddenly caused a shrill *Screeeeechh* to escape from his stomach out of which a small one eyed creature appeared and collapsed onto the ground as it burned away because of the crimson moonlight.
"Any other corruption on him dear?" Prenelle asked Nicolas quickly while holding her wand.
"There is. But nothing we can do about that without any rituals. We will need someone from the Bard Pathway for that."
"Should I call the Bones girl then?"
Nicolas simply nodded and then spoke softly, "He's definitely one crazy kid."
Prenelle glared at Loki and it also looked like sweat suddenly started pouring out of Loki's forehead because of it as she whispered, "....that he is…"
Nicolas had trouble controlling his laughter but did nothing else as things slowly started to return to normal and everyone started waking up after Prenelle helped cure them a little.
