The book had taught him a lot about his wand, or at least what he thought was his wand since he still couldn't pull off any of the 'abilities' his wand had.
Loki looked at the list of abilities that his wand was supposed to have and focused on the first and easiest one of them that he should've been able to pull off.
'Despondent Call.'
"Alright, let's try this one more time. If I can't do it this time then it means that Salazar did not make my wand."
Following the instructions Salazar had written in the book, Loki poured his spirituality into the wand and held it in there.
It felt like he was filling a water bottle and he could, instead of hearing it filling to completion, feel it tighten like a rubber band as he poured in his spirituality.
Once the wand was primed and filled with his entire spirituality, Loki, just like how the book said, imagined the wand resonating and calling out to the owner of its bone.
In front of Loki's eyes, the bone-white wand trembled and emitted a hollow purple glow, giving it an eerie feeling that chilled Loki's hand slightly.
This had happened multiple times now and was exactly as the book had described it to be.
Loki read the corresponding passages in the book once again while holding the wand primed and wondered if there were any mistakes in what he was doing.
But he found none.
"Bloody hell! What's wrong with this? What am I missing?"
"Is there a secret step that is not written in here?"
Perhaps feeling Loki's frustration the tea cup floated toward Loki.
He spared it a glance and took a sip from it before going back to staring at the book and then his wand.
The descriptions of the wand were exactly the same.
'The wand is 13'' inches long, has a pointed tip, is made out of dementor bone and has unicorn hair as a core.'
That was exactly how Ollivander's described his wand to be and that was how Salazar Slytherin described the wand in his book.
There were extra details in the book, like how the dementor's bone was treated specially by bathing it in Unicorn's blood and allowing it to soak the light of the moon and sun but those details weren't something Loki could easily check without damaging the wand.
"Is this really not my wand?"
"*sigh* maybe I'm just hallucinating."
'Hmm…' Loki drummed his wand on the table while continuing to think if there was something he was not paying attention to.
And he did. He figured out exactly what he was missing out.
'Merlin's beard! How did I not think of that!'
Loki quickly checked the Marauder's map and rushed outside when he found that there was no one standing out and moved to a window.
Standing by the window with his wand sticking out, Loki began to pour his spirituality into the wand, once again filling it to the brim.
As Loki focused his mental ability on the wand calling out to the owner of its bone, the wand began to tremble in his hands as it slowly began to acquire a hollow purple glow.
And this time, within moments the space around Loki twisted as a bony skeleton hand emerged out of it, slowly floating out along with a frail body covered in robes that spread around it an aura of suppression with it.
Loki immediately recognised the intruder, it was a dementor and not just anyone, it was the one that had violently attacked him while he was on the train and was about to suck his soul.
Loki felt a little scared but trusting Slytherin's book he spoke, "You are not to attack me under any condition."
The Dementor that had been floating toward him after it emerged out of the spirit world suddenly froze as if its strings were cut.
"Ha! It works! I now have a way to control a Dementor with my wand!"
A sinister idea suddenly popped up into Loki's mind and he acted on it, "You were attacking me on the train right, so from now on as punishment you'll be my personal butler, bring me food each time I call you out."
Loki didn't know if the dementor understood what he was talking about since it just stood there frozen but Loki didn't mind, instead, he gave it another order.
"Come closer.", he said, and the dementor floated close to Loki.
Once within his range, Loki extended his hand with the Ring of Harvest on it and allowed it to pick out one soul from within the Dementor's stomach.
The dementor stood still while it all happened as the Ring of Harvest greedily devoured the single soul.
"Did you see that?" Loki asked while the Dementor stood still.
"Bring me souls each time I call you. And if you do good, maybe I can even reward you with something." Loki said in a proud tone.
"You may leave.", Loki said after getting into a staring contest with the dementor which slowly departed into the spirit world to return from where it had come.
"Ha! Now I have a solution to the problem of feeding you!" Loki said looking at the Ring of Harvest that *burped* softly after having its most recent meal.
Loki entered the Room of Conveniences once again and collapsed into the chair as he let out a content *sigh*.
"So Salazar Slytherin did create my wand.", Loki concluded and caused his potion to digest by seven per cent, bringing it up to ninety-nine per cent.
"And this room is able to block the outside world from interfering in it?"
His eyes then went to the crystals in the centre of the room where the founders were trapped.
"Makes sense that the founders wouldn't want someone peeking into their resting place. But to still think I hadn't thought of this earlier, I guess I really was stressed about facing everything alone later in the future."
Everything went silent for a while and Loki drank tea in peace while looking out the window, recollecting everything that had happened this year, from the matter about Sirius Black to the Matter regarding the True Creator's descent.
It all felt like it had happened so long ago, but Loki could still feel the tremors running down his spine as he thought about those events.
"Although I was worried about the future, I'm slowly getting more and more worried about the past too."
Loki looked at Salazar's book and then at all the other books in the library.
"Am I Mr. Error? Did I travel to the past and set all this into motion?"
Loki didn't need a voice to answer the question, his potion digestion increased by the remaining one per cent and that was good enough as an answer for him.
The completion of his potion digestion left Loki feeling refreshed, causing him to stretch and relax.
'I guess there's one last theft that I have to perform this year then.'
'Can't end the year without stealing it…'
'Too precious to give up because of some silly reason.'
