Contrary to how fanon portrays it, I doubt the two elders would willingly let Danzo become Hokage unless there is literally no other choice. They know him better than anyone, so they know what kind of shitshow would happen if he became Hokage.
Jiraiya wouldn't accept. Kakashi wouldn't accept. No way in hell would Danzo be allowed, and thus it would come down to either him or Tsunade.
