Snape was basically torturing harry during his Occlumency lessons. Just how many times did Snape save Malfoy from punishment. And don't pretend like Dumbledore only protected Gryffindors from punishment ,Draco should have gone to Azkaban after he nearly got Katie Bell and Ron Weasley killed in sixth year all in some effort to redeem him when the jerk should have been chucked out of the school and also Snape knew that Remus was a werewolf but still went to the shrieking shack on the full moon to get the marauders into trouble .

Snape is a bully. He bullied an eleven years old orphan and tried to save Malfoy from ever getting punished ,so he won't get any sympathy from me and Snape is also a reason for Harry losing his parents. Lily cut off her friendship with Snape after he called her a Mudblood when she was berating the marauders for tormenting him during fifth year. Also there is a scene where a Muggleborn was so badly cursed by Snape's friends that she had to spend a lot of time in the hospital wing, so I think that Snape's friends were basically junior death eaters.
