Ok so I have decided on either doing one of two choices. Either I'll re-write the entire thing, most of my problems came from trying to incorporate a high-school subplot to meet Robin until I realized that the timeline just wouldn't match up and pretty much avoided the entire thing. Constraining the plot for 9 months had left me with little to work off of with what I wanted to do. If I do remake it, that'll be the first thing to go.
