I don’t think they exactly need a defensive team member with all the buffs stacked plus their self taught skills they can high speed slam the opponent plus the poke duo can learn the move protect and Xiao Wu gets the invincible golden body and teleport she can run interference easily if needed by body blocking. Mc is a heavy armored high speed razor blade so he is a mix of all but support and control. The only support that is actually helpless by default is linling and she is a hyper healer that can be taught self created skills and focus solely on that because her default skills are all the same and that not including if the author mutates her soul into something mixed power
You can always have Yan and tang San get together since he likes poison that would also give him more of a reason to help out Dugu Bo correctly instead of the original half a*s help I honestly belive that would have been a better than the him and Xiao Wu from the original even more so if he decided to share his techniques with the Dugu fam
Zhu zhuqing because she deserves better then Dai Mubai and you can just have Mc save her and show his strength and that he can help her you can even have her come early in this arc so she can see how he is. I also say lingling because she is a busted support that can also speed up training and Dugu yan is a good add give Tang San a detox skill and she can go ham with her skills without worry yan can fallow this will also get mc a strong backer he can make stronger with his own resources and will also round out a full team that is control/support heavy to hyper buff mc and Xiao wu and lock spun the opponents for a hard smack down
It was just glazed past with no mention of adaptation. But it doesn’t really matter in the long run. The story is looking great so far the only thing I feel is lacking is a depiction of the mc and his family even the one for Aizawa seemed pretty flat(small criticism) but other than that the description of everything else has been great and I’m really enjoying what you have released so far.
