"Wohoooooo! Good job guys!" says Anne clapping her hands. She's a part-time fitness trainer. Suddenly her phone rings, 'it's me mommy' (the ringtone). Everyone around is envious of Anne to be soo good looking and young even though she is a mother of a one year old child. "Hello! What happened Kathy? You know I am at work…" "well Anne, Baby Gia is running a fever all of a sudden. I am rushing towards the First Hospital. Call me when you reach there." Not giving Anne a chance to speak, she says and ends the call. Anne panics for a second and recollects that this is the 3rd time in the past two months that Gia is running a fever. She instantly dismisses class and rushes to hospital without changing out of her black track pants and grey tee. 
She sits in her Audi R8 and starts the car. Rushes to the hospital as fast as she could. She enters the hospital and spots Kathy in the waiting line. She goes to her and takes Gia in her arms. "Sorry baby mumma couldn't take care of you. I promise I won't leave you now. I'd be with you always." Gia is in her sleep. Feeling the warmth of her mother's chest she snuggles to sleep. "Kathy thanks a lot for taking care of her. You must rush home and complete your work. I remember the submission is today at 11 p.m. I am here to take care of Gia." Kathy nods in agreement and takes a last look at Anne and Gia and says, "take care of yourself as well. You can barge into my house anytime. Don't stress yourself out." With this Kathy leaves. 

After waiting for another 20 minutes, the receptionist calls for Anne. Anne goes with baby Gia in the doctor's cabin. "Doctor this is the third time my child has got a fever please check and please tell me where I am wrong. I am a fitness instructor but I can't take care of my own child. How ignorant of me!" She is in tears. 

Doctor Luna has known Anne for the past two years. She diagnosed that Anne's fetus is unstable and then she was with her in the journey of nine months. She saw Anne from being dependent on her husband for her daughter's sake to divorcing him and giving birth to Gia all alone. She knows that Anne would blame herself for everything related to Gia. She sighs and says "Anne, Relax. Take a deep breath. You aren't ignorant. You did your part well. It's just that Gia's immunity is a bit weak and she gets affected due to the cold. Argh! The weather these days…..!" 

"Are you sure, doctor?" she asks and then bites her tongue. 'Anne she is a doctor. Not you!' "doctor please tell me what to do and how to take care of her more. I can't bear to see her in pain."

"Anne.. Relax. I have written down the meds. She'll be fine. But this time Anne did you keep the Air Conditioning on for a long time? Remember, babies aren't supposed to be under the AC."

"Okay doctor. I'll keep it in my mind. Thank you."

"Have a good day Anne. Relax. Everything is alright. Gia will wake up soon."

"Thank you Doctor." She smiles and leaves the cabin. She pays the bill at the cash counter and turns to leave.  

As she walks she ponders over what Doctor Luna said.. 'AC? When did I turn it on? And then she realises something… 'Kathy must've turned it on.. Oh! How did I forget that.. She is always using the AC! I can't blame her.She doing a favour on me by taking care of Gia. No. I have to figure out something else. She thinks of her everyday routine, which is so unstable. She's running from one place to another. She wakes up at 4:30 in the morning. She takes Gia with her to Kathy's place and leaves Gia in Kathy's care. She works as a fitness instructor in the morning- her classes start at 5:00 a.m. and go on till 8:30. She rushes home to take a bath and get ready for work. She is a senior content writer at 'THE NINJA'. She works there for a 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. shift.  After that she sets off to her own office. Yes! Anne has a company of her own. She started off as a small firm in her college days but with her hardwork and dedication 'THE WRITING SPACE' Anne's company entered the top 20 list of successful businesses in a short time. Kathy works in Anne's company as a senior Editor. 'The Writing Space' is a place for all Literature lovers. The company has hired professional critics, content writers, content editors, proof-readers and opens up an internship for college students every summer. Anne owns this Company and makes a seven digit profit after sharing the profit with her employees. She invests largely in the share market and earns money. Even after all this, she isn't satisfied. She wants to earn enough money for her daughter's education, future, hobbies, marriage, every demand Gia has, it must be fulfilled by her.'

I must stop the classes in the morning and take an all time work-from-home from 'The Ninja'. As for The Writing Space, her office is just one lane down her apartment. She can take Gia to her office and take care of her.' 

She spots a medical shop and buys the medicines for Gia. She then takes a lift and reaches in the parking lot and walks towards her car. She makes Gia sit well on the passenger seat and secures her with safety belts. She walks towards the driver's seat and starts the car. She keeps the temperature in the car warm and drives towards her apartment. She lives in a two bedroom-hall-kitchen flat on the third floor. She puts in the password and enters the house.

I was as far as the 7th month when one day, accidentally mine and Stephen’s mobile phones got exchanged. He put a password on his mobile but forgot about the notifications and then I saw a text from you. “Let’s meet over a coffee??” (along with a winking emoticon). I had just visited my gynaecologist who told me my baby was healthy. I had a hunch for a long time that Stephen had an affair and your message confirmed it. It’s so amazing that one harmless emoticon could shatter someone’s life and family forever.

Three days later, the senior meeting room of Bai Group.

My father was giving vehemently giving a stimulating speech. I once again ruthlessly yawned, I was bored to death and picked up the slider phone on the desk, pushed it up, pushed it down, up, down...how come there hasn't been any messages or phone calls?

Sigh, I silently thought, I seem to feel a bit...guilty.

Three days ago, because I was caught by big Boss together with Ren Han in that "scandalous situation", I felt embarrassed and distressed at that moment. I couldn't stick around to talk to my chief and the others in the editorial department and rushed out of the office. Not many people from the distinguished kingdoms were fond of this place full of good air and nature.

Xu Tian continued reporting about the tasks Jin Liwei assigned to him assisting Iris' mission as Long Industries' brand ambassador. Usually, Jin Liwei wouldn't help Iris get ahead on her showbiz work without her permission even if he wanted to because she preferred to use her own efforts in her career, but this was a different matter. The brand ambassadorship was an important step in her plan of winning in the Long clan's battle of succession. The couple already agreed to work together in this matter because these were all for their godson, Little Jun.
Jin Liwei leaned back on his chair and sipped hot tea while listening to his assistant's reports. Afterwards, Xu Tian cleaned up the table while Jin Liwei called his baby girl who just finished guesting and performing "Passionate Flames" on a TV show with his brother, Jin Chonglin.
"Hi, love. Did you receive the lunch I sent you?" he asked.
His baby girl had recently become busier than him that she barely had any time to eat at home, so he also began sending meals to wherever she was working. Jin Liwei frowned. He could hear the chatter on her side. "My brother is inside your dressing room? Chase him out. Tell him to eat inside his own dressing room."
"Hey, hey! I heard that, Big Bro! Am I still your brother?!" Jin Chonglin's voice complained.
Jin Liwei's frown deepened. "Speakerphone?"
"No. Brother Chonglin is sitting beside me, so he could hear your voice," replied Iris.
"He's sitting beside you? Tell him to move. Call Dominic to sit beside you instead."
Iris sighed. "Don't be like that, darling. He's your brother and my future brother-in-law. We're family, not to mention that he and I are working a lot together this season."
"Yeah, I'm your brother. We're family! Listen to your wife and stop always drowning in vinegar, Big Bro. It's uncool!" Jin Chonglin's voice sounded louder, so he must be leaning close to Iris.
Jin Liwei's expression turned ugly, prompting Xu Tian to become extra cautious in his movements. Then he asked his baby girl in a low tone, "Am I uncool?"

The first part of her answer about wanting to punch his face made him sullen but his expression instantly brightened at the last part.

The noise level on Iris' side decreased. It seemed that she moved to a quieter place.

It's been quite some time since I last posted a chapter—a work which I can say that I can truly be satisfied with.

 

 

Ever since the time I posted Chapter 4 from my main work, Scum of Humanity and His Youth, I couldn't feel content with anything I wrote. Rather, the feeling of discontent came about before that Chapter even went up.

 

 

Back in May, by the time I was about to post Chapter 4, a friend recommended me this book for a real quick read. It was a Novel written by a famous mystery author— the greatest one of our time, in my honest opinion. Though, there were no english translations present for the said work so we settled for the manga adaptation instead. And after going through the book in the span of two days—

 

 

It seriously hit home. 

 

 

Rather, it was as if that story was writen to make the clean hit. 

 

 

It was as if my friend had recomended it for that sole reason. 

 

 

Such the foul play, if I do say so myself.

 

 

Though, I merely jest.

 

 

Ever since then, I had a hard time feeling content with anything I wrote. I even ended up changing a lot of things in the Chapter before putting it up just because of that particular book. It really left the strong impression, frankly speaking.

 

 

Because of that, I ended up spending the past couple of months reading his work and watching their adaptations—thoroughly studying his unique writing style. In the end, it resulted in four unproductive months and three unfinished titles. No matter how much I wrote, I never found any of those titles satisfactory. They kept on ending up being straight-out copies of that author's works.

 

 

As a result,  I dropped the pen for some time and fully indulged myself in different hobbies. Though, in that span of time, I never felt satisfied and kept on switching from one to the other. It was then when this story came about.

 

 

I put all my frustrations to the tip of my pen—the surface of my keyboard, to be more precise, then wrote something in which I can be truly proud of. In the end, I guess frustration's the thing that keeps the pen on writing? Hopefully not.

 

 

Ke-ke-ke.

 

 

To wrap up, I'd like to pose a simple question: where do people draw satisfaction from? Surely, it doesn't have to reach the point of death, just to feel satisfied. In fact, who can say for sure that death truly puts an end to our endless wanting. I wouldn't want to be the one to prove it, that's for sure. 

 

 

Surely, after some time has passed, I'd find this short story somewhat dissatisfactory and end up asking myself why I felt so proud about it, and probably also curl up in bed asking how I got the nerve to put up such an cheesy (?) afterword. Heck, do short stories even need to have an afterword? It really makes you think, doesn't it?

 

 

Though, in the end, I'm sure that would only show that I truly am human—flawed and imperfect, hard to find contentment. And it would also be the sign of how much I've grown as a writer.

 

 

To TRULY wrap up, I'd like to thank those of you who've given the time to read my work and would like to invite you to read my main work. The first two chapters aren't up to my standard as it's been almost a year since I first put them up. But regardless, the invitations always there. I intend on continuing the story, even though it's been quite some time. It's already under works.

"Work work work!" In an office building in the Timo Business District of Yoder City Center, a newly-listed game review company just began their busy day at work.
In this enterprise, there were over two hundred game reviewers. But evidently, they were still short-handed. It was normal for them to work overtime mainly because the game market was too large. In this industry, the number of employees had already reached the millions, yet it seemed far from being saturated. Every year, there would still be a large number of graduates joining this industry.
Ever since the founding of the D-Planet Federation in the twenty-third century, artificial intelligence had begun to spread extensively throughout the globe. Most jobs that required human labor were filled. Hence, the tasks humanity could do gradually became lesser, resulting in large amounts of idle time. On the contrary, the entertainment business became increasingly developed, and the improvement of the gaming industry, as one of the important parts of the entertainment business, naturally saw rapid progress.
"[Storm Tribe], [Imperial Conqueror], [Spirit Sword Sealing Demons Record], [Yin Yang Master 28]…" In the office, Little Chen who had just entered the office began to open up the list of games that needed to be tested. He glanced at this list of huge IPs as envy shone in his eyes.
These games were all products of large companies and big productions that had immense numbers of advertisements since two years ago. As a newbie, these huge IPs would never be given to him to review and test. Only experienced veterans would be invited to conduct accurate evaluations and risk estimations for these games.
And as for newbies like him, the games they reviewed were usually privately designed.

With a heart like he knew everything, Little Chen clicked into the game. It was still better for him to test a hack-and-slash game like [Legend] early in the morning than to test a bunch of similar privately designed games. After all, there were many past examples that he could draw references from.

A clear voice broke the dumb-founded look on Little Chen's face. He raised his head in a startled manner and stared at the unusually formidable-looking NPC. His entire person began to shiver.
"Damn. Is... is this really a privately designed game?"
"Isn't this model too realistic?"
Little Chen stared at the surroundings with disbelief etched on his face. The scene was a temporary military base fixed up with metal. Inside were all sorts of unknown instruments, robotic arms, and many pieces of equipment that he didn't recognize. He suddenly felt too excited to speak.
Right now, the highest-evaluated sci-fi game in the market was [Titan], created by the Rainstorm Company. [Titan]'s ID was sold at $8,800 federal dollars and was known as the most expensive game in the market. When he was still studying, he had to scrimp and save for three years before he could barely have enough money to buy an account. But the sense of reality projected by this game's design and the quality of the NPC model could basically trash [Titan]!
The details, the metallic feel, the NPC model, the lines of his face, the heaving rhythm of his muscles when he breathed in and out. The sense of reality was even more real when compared to sci-fi movies!
Could he really have encountered the 'legendary' divine work of the mortal world?
Little Chen involuntarily stretched out his hand, wanting to touch the NPC. But even before his hand came in contact, an imposing might suddenly gushed over. After thinking about it, he didn't continue to antagonize the other party. This game had a 100% tactile feel. If he was somehow smacked to death by this NPC, that feeling would be extremely hard to bear. As he contemplated, he turned his gaze to a huge metal door at the side.
There was a window on the door. Through the window, he could see the scene outside the temporary base. It was filled with desolation, as the scarlet red ground had no greenery. This place should be built according to the scenes on Mars.
This would save some trouble in the creation process, but the details were extremely precise. The quality of the sand and gravel on the ground looked extremely real. The flowing effect of their physical interaction with the wind was also very good. There were no problems at all!
After thinking about it, he pushed his hand forward, wanting to open the door to see the outside world. But all of a sudden, he felt a shock current bouncing his hand back. Just when he was astonished, the NPC spoke, "Mortal, your current body can't survive on this planet. After signing the contract, this overlord will commence a biological modification for you. After having a conclusion in his heart, Little Chen excitedly went to write his report. It was like finding gold in a shithole. This was already considered a good accomplishment.
But suddenly, he discovered that there was no menu popping up. He then glanced at the only intelligent NPC on the scene. "Might I ask how do I exit the game?"
This time around, the NPC didn't say anything at all. It expressionlessly pointed to a transmitter at the center of the base that resembled a transfer device in sci-fi movies.
The node exit system?
Little Chen was startled. Although it could make the game seem more real, it evidently was much more troublesome. In the currently fast-tempo entertainment game models, this wouldn't be liked. It seemed like this game truly lacked a good planning team.
After contemplating it, he didn't hesitate and entered the transfer device. After activating the menu, he chose the option to exit [Star Ocean]. He also took the opportunity to quickly hand up his report before anyone else discovered this game. He must not let credit for such an accomplishment escape him!
After that, a flash of light manifested, and Little Chen who was in the transfer device vanished completely. The NPC that had a look of arrogance on his face suddenly sat down after he saw that Little Chen had left. He removed his imposing metal helmet and revealed a handsome face!
"This overlord is so fatigued!" The NPC actually began to mumble to himself. "That silly fool finally left!" After that, he spoke to the air, "A.I., can we really get away with it by me acting like this?"
"Overlord, please rest your heart at ease!" An electronic voice rang out suddenly from within the base. "Overlord, you only need to wait patiently. Not long later, there would be an unending stream of subjects flowing in!"

"Just accept me. Don't be scared." He whispered in her ear and licked her earlobe gently which made her body twitched in surprise. 

Goosebumps appeared on her body as she trembled in fear on the bed. She gulped hard as she stared at the half-naked man on top of her body. 

Gosh, she can't take the pressure! She can't stay calm in this heart-thumping situation! 

"I... I am not doing it if...if I'm sober!" She said. However, shortly after that, her face exploded with embarrassment upon realising what she had spouted at his face. 

Kyaa, why did she ever said that?! They just met last week and now she sounded like she wants to do 'it' with him! 

Hue grinned at her, "That's the opposite of what I like to do...hehehe..." He let out a soft laugh. "I want you to stay sober so you can remember everything, clearly." He said, pressing on the word 'clearly', with determination in his eyes. He wanted her to remember every single detail about what they did in her everyday routine. 

He kissed her pale looking lips and his hands roamed her entire body which made the woman flinched at his touch. Then, he shifted his kisses to her neck, leaving a few more new red marks on her skin. 

"Hue...stop leaving more marks on my neck..." Jennet said in a soft and stifled voice. She had bitten her own finger to stop herself from letting out sounds that may trigger his desire. 

"Hmm..." He just hummed and kissed the valley of her breasts, leaving even redder kiss marks on his trail. 

"Hue...stop, hmmm..." She grunted when he took her nipple in his mouth, playing with it. 

Her cheeks burned and so does her ears. Her breath becomes even unsteady every time he sucked on her breast. She was so sensitive because she could feel his hot tongue playing with the tip of her nipple. 

'Goodness, this is so embarrassing!' She cried in her hearts as her eyes shut tightly. 

Her body curled upward, taking him in her embrace, while she tried so hard to hold her voice from coming out. 

"Hmmm...!" She grunted while clenching her own jaws. Beads of sweat appeared on her temples. 

Hue opened his eyes and it was all red with only a thin circle of jade blue at the outer rim of his irises. His lips curved upward into a mischief smile, looking at the red-faced woman. 

Jennet opened her eyes and looked at him. She gasped. "Hue...your eyes..." 

She was surprised to see the changes in his eyes. It reminded her of when he was angry at her before. 

Hue smiled and kissed her again, "I'm just excited." He whispered and pressed his lips on hers. 

Jennet pulled her face away, "Just what are you exactly?" She asked in a soft whisper, getting frightened. 

Hue smiled at her, "Don't be scared, my wife. To know me, you have to accept my difference." He added and kissed her chin while at it. 

The man then kissed her down to her belly and even further down. The woman was in alarmed when she realized he was about to dip his face between her thighs. 

"Hue, don't or I'll not make love with you!" She said, gasping in fright. At the same time, she still had the gut to threaten him. 

She clutched tightly to the bedsheets as she eyed him in alarmed. Her heart was thumping even harder! 

This feeling felt like she had known him for so long already and felt like she was used to his intimate touch. 

Hue motioned his eyes up, towards her but didn't move his face even a bit from her most sensitive body part. His stare with his red eyes was so domineering and she loses her strength when he ignored her, rolled out his tongue and licked her all to his heart content. 

Jennet gasped on the bed as beads of sweat appeared on her body. Her chest was moving at an uneven pace at the foreign feeling that she had just discovered. 

Hue closed his eyes as he kissed and licked her, making her weak by the minutes. The soft moan from her lips that she tried to hold made him even aroused with unstoppable lust. 

Jennet was already too weak to move when he finally stopped. Hue stood up and took off the remaining clothes on his body and tossed it out off the bed. 

Crawling up on her body, he kissed her belly, her chests, her neck and lastly her lips. He ran his hand in her hair, pulling her, tightening their kiss. 

Another embarrassing moment filled the huge room as to when the woman cried in alarmed again when the man parted her leg apart. 

Gazing at him with wide eyes, Jennet can't help but yelp, "No!" 

Then she clenched her thighs with her face getting redder and redder. Her heart thumped even intense by the minute and she felt faint. 

Hue's red eyes roamed her crimson red face. He tilted his head to the side, "Do you not trust me?" He asked softly. 

Jennet stared back at him and said, "It's too...embarrassing to...to look at you...while doing 'it'." She admitted, getting even redder. And now, her ears burned. 

Hue chuckled and smiled, he leant forward and whispered in her ear, "Then, just close your eyes and put your arms around my neck."

Jennet hesitated but then, she still did as he said. 

"It...hurts...!" Jennet cried as she clawed Hue's back when he entered her. The pain she felt was like poking her own nose with chopsticks. 

"I'm sorry," Hue said as he stopped himself from getting even deeper inside her. His back was still painful from her mighty claws from last night. 

Jennet looked into his red eyes and said, "I have no idea how we did it so smoothly last night. But, this is too painful!" She cried. Tears flowed down the corner of her eyes down to her temple. 

She might have been a superwoman to have the ability to withstand this torturous feeling that she had right now.

Hue looked back at her and said, "I'm sorry but, I have no idea it could hurt you so much like this." He apologised. They are already connected deep inside each other and still had the time to apologize. 

"I'll be gentle..." Hue said and kissed her lips, silencing her cries. Then, slowly he moved his body. 

Jennet closed her eyes tightly when she wound her arms around his neck again and let him swayed her body with ease. His movement was slow in the beginning and went deeper and even deeper before he thrust her with full force. 

However, her voice was muffled as she bit on his collarbone. Whenever she opened her eyes, she would see his red, domineering eyes staring at her. All she could do was to close her eyes and be drowned in his torturous pleasure. 

Throughout the night, she was drained out of her energy and was ridden in the bed countless times. 

Hue was so domineering when he was sober and she had no time to rest but to be filled with unstoppable pleasure that made her lose her voice. 

Then, she understood one thing, making love was a nerve-wracking activity and she would like to avoid to keep doing it every night for the sake of her job!

It was hell the next day Jennet went to work. Her entire body aches even worser than the day before. She felt her body creaking like a rusty machine. Also, her mood had been so foul. She just felt so angry but couldn't let it out. 

Right now, in her head, was to meet Luca Tybelg and to reject him. She had promised to Hue that she will clear the misunderstanding with Luca Tybelg after she had been 'tortured' mercilessly last night. 

However, she found out that Luca Tybelg was away for a business trip to Country N. It means she will meet him there when they go for their company trip! 

Arrghh, why is her life so difficult?

Jennet gritted her teeth angrily in front of her computer. She wanted to rant all of her frustration but there's no one to talk to. She turned to her side but found no sign of her friend, Marvina. 

Turning her head to the back, she asked the other colleague, "Where is she?" She asked, pointing to Marvina's desk. 

The bespectacled woman with the name, Keira, answered, "She had a meeting with her clients. She probably will return in about two hours from now."

"Thanks, Keira." Said Jennet and focused on her computer screen again. 

However, her mind was not about her work. The clear steamy moments from last night kept showing up in her head which made her blushed deeply behind her PC. 

No matter how she tried to focus, she just couldn't give her full attention towards her work. Everything in her head was already messed up so badly. 

She stood up and walked out of the office after informing Keira that she's going to the Human Resource Department. She wanted to apologize for not coming to work yesterday and to ask for overtime as compensation for her absence. 

Also, to forget that she had just slept with a man! 

As soon as she arrived, Susan Banner was about to leave the office. "Oh, Miss Lockhart. Lucky you come. I was about to see you tell you to get some rest at home."

"Rest? But, I'm fine Mrs Banner," Jennet replied. "I still can work." She added, remembering all about her 'sprained back'. 

How did that excuse even appear in the first place? That Hue is so...ugh! 

She was frustrated but there was nothing she could do about it and she had to agree to that excuse.

Susan Banner shook her head and replied, "No, no. You have to go home and rest. I've received your sick leave form from the hospital this morning. It's a three days sick leave."

"Ohh..." Jennet exclaimed in confusion. Sick leave form from the hospital? Even for three days?!

How on Earth did she ever have a sick leave from the hospital when she never even went there to get any treatment for her so-called sprained back. 

"But, I've never been..." 

"Your sprain is not to be taken lightly otherwise it will affect your body when you're expecting your child in the future." Susan Banner interrupted with a smile, snapping her to her senses. 

Ex...expecting my child? 

Jennet turned bright red the moment she heard those words coming out of her mouth. She staggered on her feet, losing her composure once again. 

Hearing the word 'child' made her heart squealed in fright. Her mind went flying again towards what she had done on the previous night. 

She had actually spent the night with Hue while she was in her soberness and she had experienced the moment that she forgot on their first night together. It was an intense feeling and torturous as hell. 

What will happen to her in the near future if life actually started to beat in her womb after what she went through with Hue? 

They've slept twice in two nights now and each night had always been so intense. Last night was even worser. 

Hue was indeed trying his hard to impregnate her! 

"Ehh, Miss Lockhart, are you okay? Why are you getting so red? Are you sick?" Susan Banner asked as she supported her from falling on her knees. 

Jennet forced a smile on her face as she stood up properly on her feet, "I am fine. I... I just felt a bit tired."

"Oh, that's bad. You must go home and get enough sleep. Is there anyone that I can call to pick you up?" Susan Banner asked. 

Jennet shook her head. "No, actually I still can work today." She said, trying to reject the idea of sending her home. No one at home is reliable enough to be asked for help. 

If she goes home, who knows what that perverted man would do to her. She was a hundred per cent sure that she will be tortured again by him. 

Because this morning, he was reluctant to let her leave the bed and still had the time to exhaust her early in the morning though she had begged him to let her rest. 

Today, she needed to crash somewhere else or she will never have the rest that she needed the most. She had been planning to not return to the villa for as long as she's allowed to take her rest. Three days away from home...especially from the man called Hue Hedo! 

Susan Banner glanced at the face that had now turned a bit pale after it was red before. 

"Are you really alright? I fear you will collapse if you continue to be stubborn on continuing to work. You better go home and rest. I'll drive you home." She said, putting a halt to her retaliation. 

"That's okay. I'll go home on my own." Jennet said at last. "I will drive by myself. Thanks for your concern, Mrs Banner." She added and smiled. 

Susan Banner smiled back at her and handed her a bar of chocolate, "Take it. Eat it when you're feeling down and drive safe." She said softly, giving her a light pat on the shoulder. 

Jennet took it with a 'thanks' and headed out of the office. But then, she bumped onto Mira who was walking past her. They collided and the files in Mira's hand fell to the floor. 

"Are you blind? Look at where you're going!" Mira hissed at her underneath her breath as she bent down and took the file. Her eyes glint with disgust as she walked. 

Jennet stayed silent as she gives way for Mira to walk away. But still, she can hear Mira's sharp words, "Lucky woman. Luca even gave you special treatment to stay at home for your so-called injury when you faked it all. Tch, when someone is cheap they will always be cheap in the eyes of men. So fake!"

Those words flew so smoothly out of the beautiful woman's mouth, bad-mouthing her for her fakeness. Mira disappeared at the corner of the building like raging ogres. 

Jennet stood silently by the door as she watched Mira's silhouette disappeared from her view. 

Turning to the side, she exhaled a deep sigh. 'Haa...I never faked my illness. I never have the intention to fake it. It's Hue who has been making my life hard from day one!' She grunted alone. 

She walked back towards her own department and sat down in front of her PC. However, all of her paperwork on the desk has been cleared. 

Frowning in confusion, she can't help it but turn back at her colleague, "Keira, did you see anyone taking the stacks of paper and files from my desk?" She asked Keira. 

That paperwork must be done before the company trip because, after the trip, she will have to hand it over to her manager for approvals. 

"Mira did because Susan asked her to take over the paperwork since you're going home to rest," Keira answered. 

"Ohh..." Jennet was surprised. 

She turned to look at her PC but her mind was already picturing Mira's angry face with smooth curses flew out from her mouth. 

'Wow, I'm going to be dead after my return. She'll surely pay back three times than now.' She mumbled in her head. 

But then, she turned back to look at Keira and asked, "Is there anything I can help you? Photocopy or printing documents?" 

She felt guilty if she goes home instantly. It just doesn't feel right! 

Keira shook her head, "No thanks. You better go home because if you refuse you'll only trouble the entire company if you collapse. Our Human Resources will be questioned why the employees' welfare were not taken good care of. Do you want to make other people's life harder because of your reluctantness?"

Jennet shook her head. "No," She replied and gulped silently.

She is known as the Loveless Woman at her workplace since she never has or date any man in her life. She just wanted to be left alone and after five years she finally moved into a new house. She thought she had finally gained her freedom and yet she encountered a companion in her new home who kept pestering her life and he calls her his wife though she clearly remembers not having married to anyone before. He is eager to expose their relationship but she is desperately trying to hide their relationship since it was a complicated relationship that could ruin her career because he's not even a human.
Her life alongside this 'husband' of hers is just the beginning as she is being pulled even deeper into understanding who he really is and why he is in her house.

"Wife, let's make a baby now!" Hue said honestly without any care of what her reaction would be. He jumped at her with his childish action. 

Jennet grunted and pushed him away angrily, "I am not making any baby with you, pervert!"

"Wife is so mean!" He whined loudly like a kid who was forbidden from eating candy. He cried waterfall of tears on the floor and stomped his feet, acting like an overly spoiled child.

"Uh..." Jennet hesitated. 

"Fine, stop crying!" She was defeated at last by her scheming husband. 

Hue leapt at her from the floor like an obedient puppy who wagged it's tail happily upon hearing his master's call for a treat.

Misae's House
"Pardon my intrusion," Laura said as she walked into the house.
Misae giggled when she saw Laura acting polite. "Don't be so uptight. You're my friend and also Kanae's sister. Just treat this place as your home."
"Thank you, Sis Misae?"
Misae nearly choked. "Just call me Misae. You're not that polite at school."
"Well, that's because we're classmates at school," Laura scratched her head. It would feel rather awkward if she had to call every classmate using 'sister' or 'brother.' This was the reason she didn't use honorifics when addressing them.
It was indeed more polite to use them, and the cultures in several countries required them to do that.* However, there were also other places that didn't bother with them at all. All in all, it would depend on the place they lived in.
Misae shook her head. "Don't bother using an honorific. I'm not that strict and our ages don't differ by that much either."
"It's nearly two years."
"…You're talking as if I'm old."
"No, I never did that," Laura immediately defended herself. The most forbidden topic to a woman was their age. No woman wanted to be called old. If she dared to say that, there was no doubt that she would get kicked out. If the one who said it was a boy, then she would just pray that the boy could get home safely.
Misae laughed. "Relax. By the way, do you want to drink something? My parents usually get home late."
"Well, maybe a glass of water is fine."
"Alright, I'll pour you one."
Laura followed Misae to the living room, and she looked around curiously. This was the first time she came here, and she had to admit that Misae's family has good taste. The room felt rather cozy and warm. She felt rather comfortable staying here.
"Here's the water," Misae walked into the living room with two glasses of water. "You can sit down. There's no need to stand up continuously."
"Thank you," Laura took the glass and sipped the water.
Misae leaned back on the chair. "I think this is the first time we talked to each other in a long time. You don't usually see your sister in the past."
Laura nodded her head. She only came home occasionally because she couldn't stand the Nali Family. Every time she met them, all she wanted to do was punch them in the face and bury them in the ground. Knowing that she didn't have a good temper, she chose to stay away from them by enrolling in school overseas.
It was not a bad experience over there, but she missed her sister very much. At first, she called Kanae almost every week and poured out all of her grievances and difficulties. As time passed by, she learned how to adapt to living alone in the dorm and didn't call as much because it was expensive. She didn't want to make her sister work too hard for her sake.
"I heard that you wanted to join this year's Student Council, Misae. Are you sure your grades are up to par?" Laura changed the topic.
Misae's face scrunched up badly. In truth, she already crammed for hours during the holiday to make sure that she gets a better score. If she doesn't, she wouldn't be able to get into the Student Council this year.
"I'll just study more."
Laura smiled bitterly. "Let me help you out. I've already learned most of the material."
"…Why do I have the feeling that the two of you are a pair of fearsome sisters?" Misae looked towards Laura enviously. She wanted to be able to learn that quickly.
Laura just smiled. She would never tell the other party that she crammed hard in the past just to be able to study more than one field. It even resulted in her having to wear glasses, which she already changed to contact lenses. However, she would never regret it. If it could help the two of them contend against the Nali Family, she would be more than willing.

The two of them studied for hours before they rested. They prepared additional bedding for Laura since the girl was not used to sleeping on the sofa like Kanae. However, even when Misae already fell asleep, Laura didn't bother closing her eyes. She had a different intention in sleeping over today.
After making sure that Misae had fallen asleep, she sneaked out of the room and waited in the living room. It didn't take long for the front door to open and a middle-aged woman to walk in.
"Oh hello, are you a friend of Misae?" Clara asked with a smile on her face.
Laura quickly stood up. "Yes Ma'am. My name is Laura Nali, I'm Misae's friend and also Kanae's sister."
Hearing the surname of this girl caused Clara to frown. She put her bag aside before sitting in front of Laura. "I believe that you didn't come here just because you wanted to play with Misae, right?"
"Yes. I came here because I need your help."
Clara nodded her head. "I already talked with Kanae before about the matter of your inheritance. Because of the lack of evidence, there's no way you can take it back. However, I believe that you came here today because you now have the evidence."
Laura smiled. "I already retrieved the mansion's deed and obtained a written transfer agreement from Frank. Will this be enough to defend our claim the mansion when the time comes that they knock on our door?"
Clara took the file Laura had prepared and browsed through the content. She was rather amazed when she saw it because it meant that this pair of siblings managed to take back something from the Nali Family. Considering the massive family and its influence, she would never have imagined that they were successful even nearly three years after they lost it.
"Yes, this will be more than enough. With this, you'll be able to secure your claim to the mansion," Clara nodded her head with a smile.
Laura beamed. "Mrs. Clara, will you help us when the time comes?"
"Of course, if you need any help, don't hesitate to come here. I will surely help you out."
"Thank you very much," Laura was thankful that they managed to confirm their ownership of the mansion.
Clara nodded her head as she browsed the content of the contract closely. She had to make sure that the siblings didn't get cheated on.
Seeing the happy smile on Laura's face, she did feel a bit guilty. In the past, she only agreed to help Kanae in exchange for the girl's help in watching over Misae. However, when Kanae truly became Misae's best friend, she felt that she barely did anything for her. Since there was now a chance for her to help the sisters, she would do her best to make sure that they won.
Although she was already a professional, she went the extra mile in carefully reading the content of the documents. She took this far more seriously than what she did at work as she made sure that there weren't any problems. It took her several minutes to finish.
"The contract looks good. You can be rest assured in signing this. If the Nali Family files a charge against you and brings the case to court, I can represent you as your lawyer. I won't ask for any payment."
Laura was stunned. "You're really kind, Mrs. Clara."
Clara merely smiled. She was not that kind, and it was only that Kanae had practically saved Misae's life. Without Kanae, Misae wouldn't have been able to make friends. After all, it was her fault that Misae had to experience something so dreadful in the past. It was only right for her to repay this pair of siblings to the best of her abilities.
"Go to sleep. It's already late."
"Yes, good night."
As she watched Laura walk away, Clara sighed as she slumped back on her chair. She would not let anything happen to the siblings. Even if her opponent was the big Nali Family, she would not hesitate to help them.

Soon it would be time for the final exams. Jinjing and Luwei would study together at his place. The Yun family purchased a luxurious apartment for Luwei, close to the university.

Ever since they became best friends, Jinjing would unhesitatingly visit his bachelor pad for combined studies. Well, the place was nothing like a bachelor pad. It was well organized, clean and was tastefully decorated.

Luwei even had a lady to take care of his house. The lady, fondly addressed as nanny Zhang, was his nanny from when he was small. She continued to stay with the Yuns out of love for Luwei. When Luwei moved to country A, she insisted on accompanying him and taking care of him. Nanny Zhang was also one of the reasons why Jinjing comfortably went over to Luwei's house. Nanny Zhang, unbiasedly showered her motherly love on both of them and her cooking, never let Jinjing miss her homeland.

During exams, Jinjing would often stay over at Luwei's, so she could cut out on travelling time and would not have to worry about arranging meals. She could solely focus on her studies.

On one such night, while studying, Luwei posed a question "hey Jinnie…." He dotingly addressed her as Jinnie. Gathering Jinjing's attention he continued "what are you planning to do once we go back?"

Jinjing had decided to go back once she completed her masters. On the other hand, Luwei, being the heir of Yun conglomerate, had to return in order to take over from his father.

Pondering for a while, Jinjing replied "hmmm… maybe look for a job. But first I want to spend lots of time with my parents. I have missed them a lot in these two years." She had a sweet smile on her face thinking about her parents.

"hey!!! Why search for one. You can work with me as my personal assistant. What say?" Luwei suggested excitedly. He found the idea of his best friend working with him really enticing.

"no way…. I don't want a back door entry. I will find a job for myself." Jinjing blatantly turned him down.

Luwei interjected strongly "who is giving you a back door entry? You will obviously go through the proper hiring process. I want you to stay by my side with dignity not out of charity…... okay miss morality?.... hey that rhymed" Luwei laughed and poked her forehead gently.

Swatting his hand away, Jinjing disciplined him "okay okay… we will see. Study for now"

The next few weeks passed by smoothly. Done with their exams, Jinjing and Luwei spend some fun filled, carefree days before heading back to their home country.

After a long tiring journey back home, Jinjing spotted her parents waiting for her at the airport. Collecting her baggage, she hurried towards them like a little girl and hugged onto her parents dearly.

Back in city S, Jinjing felt like she was finally home. With a set of loving parents, a place she called home, she was content. She did not wish for anything else.

Jinjing rested for a week before she received a call from Luwei, who was in city B.

"hey best friend!!! What's up babes?" Jinjing always found the ways in which Luwei addressed her to be really weird…. Well weirdly warm and affectionate.

"nothing young master Yun." Jinjing played along. "hey!!!" she knew it annoyed Luwei when she addressed him formally. "Jinnie don't you ever say that again." He warned her but in a soft tone.

"so… when are applying for the post of my personal assistant?" Luwei raised the topic she wanted to avoid.

"well… the thing is that…." She tried to find words to reject him without hurting him.

"Luwei, I can't work for you… I… I… don't want to go back to city B." with no option left, she clearly expressed her concern.

"stupid girl…." Luwei mocked at her. 

"hey who are you calling stupid?" Jinjing retorted.

"You! Obviously. I am your BFF and I know you very well. I am talking about the office in city S. That is the head office of Yun conglomerate and I will be working from city S. So now is it okay? are you going to apply?"

Having her major issue addressed, Jinjing was more than happy to work with Luwei. "of course I will."
