Chapter 4 
Nom contemplates Texas
 
What better place in the world to test such a power than in Texas? It was one of the most populated states in the Union, and physically the second largest. The majority of its population was composed of pathetic moron evangelical conservatives, or so the elections seemed to show. If he had the means to cause death at will, why not see if he could cull the very population that needed it the most? Target those responsible for so much of the agony being experienced in the nation and the world in general.
Millions of people dead in the Muslim world due to the war crimes of George W Bush: first his invasions destabilizing the region, creating ISIS, and then his backing the Arab Spring. Every one of those deaths could be put at the feet of the average conservative Texan who had brought the monster to power. After all it was doubtable that he would have ever been elected president without first being the governor of Texas. 
Once upon a time, America had some of the best public schools in the world. Thanks to conservative backlashes, led in large part by Texans, those schools had plunged to a pathetic standing. They were now ranked so low, that third world nations were regularly surpassing them. Texas had a law that required it to buy new school text books every few years. All of the textbooks were standardized across the state. The result was that Texas essentially wrote the textbooks for America. Publishers simply set their books to Texas standards, since they bought the most books and did so at regular intervals. Those standards were set by elected evangelical morons who blindly believed the King James Bible. The kind of fool that thought the world was only six thousand years old, no matter what reality had to say on the subject. Idiots, that did all they could to ensure that real science stayed far away from American class rooms. 
Texas, what a state. Largest in the lower forty-eight—economic, population, and natural resource, power house. It's population and vast wealth gave it political power essentially second to none. The state of California had a larger population, and one of the largest economies in the world in its own right. But Texas had invented the modern concept of conservative political power. California tended to lean liberal, but much of its population in the north and east leaned conservative. Texas on the other hand was in large part the bastion of American conservatism. 
In the beginning of the nineteen hundreds, and extending into the nineteen eighties, the conservatives of the old south realized that they were often in the minority in America. That said, there was one sure fire way to win an American election and that was money. At the time, good old-fashioned graft and corruption sufficed. The political bosses in New York, Chicago, and the rest of the country were usually capable of delivering their constituencies, for a price. Men who owed their jobs to the bosses cast their votes as they were told. In Texas, particularly in the southern regions, "Dons" straight out of old western films, herded their "peons" at gun point into the polls. They ensured that whoever they had been hired by won. 
At the time, Texas was full of new money in the form of cattle barons and oil tycoons. Wishing to ensure their continued success, they allied themselves with the conservative Democrats of the old south known as the Dixicrats. When those Democrats were effectively exiled from the Democratic Party in the nineteen-sixties, the southern conservatives did the unthinkable. They joined the Republican Party. The party that one hundred years before, had literally waged war against southern conservatives to end the old debates over states' rights, and slavery. Not only did the conservatives join the GOP, they took it over. In the millennium, the GOP far more resembled the old Confederacy, than the liberal forces of Lincoln. 
The South had been a thorn in the side of the United States for four-hundred years. Conservative to its core, it proudly sat on the ass end of yesterday; insisting that up was down, and that they should be allowed to force the world to bend to their lunacy. For one hundred years the conservatives from the South in the US Senate managed to block virtually every effort to improve the human condition of every day Americans. Oh, they certainly backed the New Deal and the Tennessee River Valley Association; but seek human or civil rights, and they would put a noose around your neck. Then, they would set you one fire while you strangled. Afterwards they might even use your corpse for target practice. 

 

In Nom's mind, there was nothing redeemable about the troglodytes of the old South. They were no better than their ancestors. But where to make his first strike for sanity and good? Arguably the main powerhouse of the South was its churches. The religious leaders had for centuries been the bulwarks of their communities. It had been conservative white evangelical pastors who had led the fight for slavery. 
From fiery pulpits they cried that black Africans were cursed by god and were damned to serve all others since the time of Noah. They used the book of Philemon in the New Testament of their King James' Bibles to insist that not only had their sky fairy sanctioned slavery, but it condemned anyone who tried to free slaves. Slaves that tried to free themselves were even worse. 
It had been the Southern conservative preachers who had been the rallying point for segregation and Jim Crow. They argued that it was a violation of the laws of nature, and perhaps even bestiality for white and black to cross breed. God had brought the savage African to this promised land to be under the benevolent oversight of the white man. It was only the will of Satan to ever bring about equality. Anything else would be an "uneven yoking".
It was the Southern conservative preachers, current and former, who led the charge to deny homosexuals basic human rights: making the act of love a crime, barring them from public service, even military jobs. They sought to force the American Psychiatric Association to bring back the archaic definitions of homosexuality that called it a mental illness, calling for businesses to not serve them, for their children to be seized by the courts, and their marriages declared an illegal abomination against the imaginary sky fairy.
They led the charge to hamstring the education system of America, to make it a criminal offence for a woman to control her own body or to even purchase a sex toy. 
Their concepts of the Prosperity Gospel had led to a revision of the old tax code under President Reagan and all following Republican administrations. Rather than taxing people on the basis of what they could afford, as logic would dictate, the Southern conservative preachers called for the rich to be empowered. The result was a flipping of the tax burden onto the poor and middle class from the rich. They pressed a theory: that tax cuts for the rich would result in that same money trickling down into the hands of the middle class and the poor many times over. Strangely, their deregulation and tax cuts resulted in the income of the top five percent to sky rocket, while the middle class lost their annual battle to beat inflation, and the poor, slipped further and further into poverty. 
The southern conservative preachers of Texas raised massive edifices to themselves in the form of mega churches. Every Sunday victims attended to receive their next brainwashing session en masse. Colloquially these were referred to as worship sessions. A simple name for self-induced highs and mass delusions, resulting in addictions. 
Houston, Texas housed one of the largest of these boils on the ass of humanity, the church of Pastor Joel Ater. Just a week before the Reverend Ater had managed to demonstrate to the world just how literally he took the commandments of his lord and savior. If one were to believe the gospels, then would they not want to follow the teachings of Jesus found there? Feed the hungry? Heal the sick? Minister without judgment to the vilest members of society?
A rational person might think so, but then they would not be familiar with American and especially Southern Christians. When a hurricane came to Houston, "philanthropist" Ater, followed the path of the true Christ. He locked his doors, and refused to let in those in need. They might have soiled his temple to himself after all.
Yes. Nom thought. Joel Ater is the perfect man to start with. The church might be a bit much for a dry run, but it was simply far to cherry an opportunity to pass up.

Nom, a grad student working as a truck driver is: intelligent, well educated, and the sort of person who always can find a reason to have a chip on his shoulder. One day while driving in Texas he finds that he has the ability to wish death on those he hates. Being scientifically minded, Nom proceeds to experiment searching out the scopes of his new found powers. He begins in Texas, a state he despises. As he moves on from each experiment, he picks his prey to match some facet of modern western life that he hates. Each receive a fate customized to match what Nom feels they did wrong. Nom then travels home to Michigan after initially defining his new role in life. In Michigan he uses his powers to settle a few old scores and family business. A run-in with an old friend convinces him that he is being selfish for not using his god like powers to better mold humanity. The end of the book sees him taking on the leader of the free world. Nom now personifying Death, learns that he has a true foe, Life.Nom will return.

Maddie's metaphor was thought-provoking. Zhang Lisheng became silent for a few seconds before shrugging. "Congratulations, Maddie. I didn't expect you to become a philosopher after not seeing you for months."
"You, on the other hand, still remain the same." The girl squeezed half a lemon on the fried steak that was now golden brown and splashed a few drops of olive oil before putting the pan on the fire for a while. After sprinkling black pepper on it, she took the steak out and placed it on a plate to hand it to the young man.
The young man took the plate and smelled the tempting taste of the meat. He picked up a bright silver fork and began to chow down the food while replying casually, "I have indeed remained the same. Just like always, I cover up my intrinsic nature of brutality with a civilized appearance…"
"Oh Lisheng, your intrinsic nature is not brutal but cold. Fortunately, your coldness would only come to effect in front of strangers." Maddie placed a new steak on the frying pan and said, "You should go online and see what has happened to Japan over the past few days. That is what real brutality is. I think, after seeing it, you won't run around casually as you always do anymore."
Even though Japan was a small island country, its economy was well developed, and its population went up to hundreds of millions. Even though it had been subject to the military restrictions of the international community because of its ambitious war of aggression against China last time, it was still a top-ranking power on Earth.
When Zhang Lisheng heard the girl's words, a kind of indescribable fear rose from his heart. Frowning, he took a can of iced Coke from the refrigerator and went to the desk to sit down.
He turned on the computer, and as soon as the boot screen flashed, he keyed in 'Japan' on the search engine. The first picture he found was a pyramid that was about 67 stories high, standing and towering amidst the ruins of a skyscraper.
"A skull monument…" Even though the pyramid was censored and was very blurred, with his sensitivity towards blood and his vivid eyesight, Zhang Lisheng still froze when he saw the picture before blurting the Chinese words out.

At this time, Maddie took a plate and walked up behind Zhang Lisheng before whispering, "After a foreign world's passage appeared in Shinjuku, Tokyo, the Japanese government sealed the entire block and sent a reconnoiter team into the foreign world. In the end, it drew forth countless beings similar to those orcs that usually appear in fantasy stories to attack Tokyo. So far, the news reports said that over a million people have died."
"They must be orcs then."
Zhang Lisheng browsed and looked at other pictures in the news to find the pictures of brutal violence that the foreign world's beings that had a beast head but a human body had committed.
"As I see from the other pictures in the news, the first thing that came to my mind is that, if we evolved from the clever omnivorous monkeys according to Darwin's theory of evolution, then these beings must have evolved from ferocious carnivores like wolves or tigers."
"What an incisive argument, dear Lisheng." The girl handed the steak to the young man and applauded gently before saying, "It's not only Tokyo that has been handed, the foreign world's beings have also attacked Lyon of France, Sapucaia do Sul of Brazil, and tons more countries and cities. Even though they suffered a fate better than Tokyo, and that their situations are pretty much under control now, the fear that spread amongst humans will not cease so easily."
"The fear spread amongst humans will not cease… Fear…" Zhang Lisheng took the steak and muttered to himself while reclining his back against the soft and flexible backrest of the office chair. Suddenly, a light bulb flashed across his mind as he suddenly asked, "Maddie, is there any new foreign world gate in the US?"
"Of course, there is one in Texas and two are discovered at the same time in Alaska. It's a good thing that it's desolate there! Oh yeah, there's another one in Minnesota..."
"Enough, it's enough. There's a Chinese proverb that says, 'misfortune may be an actual blessing'. Inform Charlie and Edward that I want to see them!" The young man suddenly had an expression of excitement on his face out of the blue as he ordered.
Despite not knowing why Zhang Lisheng would still be so excited even though the Earth had fallen into such a terrible state, as a smart woman, Maddie asked nothing but instead, she called the general manager and chief legal officer of LS Group immediately.
It just so happened that both Charlie and Edward were in New York at the moment. When they heard that their long-lost boss had summoned them, it did not take them over half an hour to appear in front of Zhang Lisheng together.
Unlike usual, both Charlie, who had gradually paid more attention to his appearance after becoming the manager of LS' billions of assets, and Edward, who always donned in a suit with a calm demeanor because of the professional requirements of being a lawyer, appeared to be significantly tired and wrecked today.

"If I had gone to Tokyo for a holiday, I might not have been able to sit in front of you now, Boss!" Despite knowing Zhang Lisheng's question was merely a joke, colors still drained from Charlie's face. "But I have a few friends staying in Japan who sent several secret videos to me… Urgh, let's drop this topic, boss! I really regret watching them."
Zhang Lisheng was not interested in any secret video at all at first, but after hearing Charlie's last sentence, he replied with interest instead. "Send those videos to me, Charlie. I want to know more about the attack that befell Japan."
"Yes, Boss! I'll send the videos to your mailbox when I get back home."
"Thank you. Okay, let's get down to business!" The young man nodded and turned serious right away. "Charlie, Edward, one of you is a smart fellow who has been mingling with political and business celebrities for many years while the other is a senior lawyer who is familiar with the legal system of the US. The reason I asked you two to come this time is to ask for your opinion. That is, will the government be willing to entrust Shrimp B1 Island to a private company in this currently chaotic situation? Just like how London entrusted the entire Asian colony for two Indian companies of East and West to manage two hundred years ago?"
"I'm sorry, Boss! I don't understand. What did you say?" The LS's chief legal officer became stunned and asked in a dumbstruck manner.
"Edward, I'm asking whether the current government will entrust Shrimp B1 Island to a private company in this currently chaotic situation, just like how London entrusted the entire Asian colony for two Indian companies of East and West to manage two hundred years ago?" The young man opened the iced Coke can with a 'pop' and gulped it down before repeating his own question.
"B-Boss, the reason the East and West India companies could control the British colony in Asia was that the British army had destroyed most of the resistance forces in India, Malaya, Bangladesh, and so on..."
"The native tribe under my command on Shrimp B1 Island has also destroyed and assimilated all opposing forces," Zhang Lisheng interrupted Edward's words and said with a shrug.
The chief legal officer of the LS Group once again became stunned. "O-Oh my God! You mean, y-you're not a 'congressman' but a 'king' in the native tribe that occupies the entire Shrimp B1 Island?"
"Looks like you've also heard of the little stories I made up just to get the steamships and the Medal of Honor." Zhang Lisheng smiled. "But the example you cited is a little inappropriate, Edward. The role I have in the tribe is not a 'king' but a 'god' instead."
"Oh, Boss! in that case, we can really discuss the question you brought up just now." Edward's interest was raised right away.
"Okay! I was just suddenly inspired on a whim and thought of this idea in the last minute. I still know nothing of a concrete way to run it. Do you, or Charlie, know how the East and West Indian Companies work, actually? Can either of you explain it to me in the simplest way?" Zhang Lisheng asked.
"As a professional manager and the best broker who has been mingling on Wall Street for decades, I've learned in detail about how the ugly colonial companies worked when I was in college." Charlie's tired look disappeared without a trace as he vied to be the first to speak with his eyes gleaming brilliantly. "I can explain it in a very simple layman term, that is 'lease management'…"
"Lease management…" The young man repeated it unconsciously.
"Yes boss, lease management. It's the simplest and most effective business model. The British government would determine a total annual income that can be produced in Asia at the beginning of the year, let's say, one million dollars. Then, it would report this number to the East and West India Companies. These two companies would go to the British colonies and semi-colonies in Asia to carry out their trades. Whether they set up an army to rob the people or support the local officials of the puppet regime to collect taxes or sell drugs or rubber, in short, they must make one million dollars for the government by the end of the year. The rest of the income would then go to themselves."
"That sounds very dirty and bloody," Zhang Lisheng commented as his lips curled.

Cuetlachtli entered the portal and during his journey through this portal he the beginning of this world as if this world was feeding him the knowledge of its creation. He saw in the center of this universe that a creation process was occurring and the initial primordial being went by many names chaos, nothing, void... He saw how the being created many divine beings that we're unaware of each other existence in different locations thus collectively together creating a universe together. It went all together like this but not necessarily in order since they all occurred simultaneously.  Also he noticed that each time there was destruction it meant that the evil darkness had a hand in it and involved itself in the fall of each established GODS reign. The history plays out like this a Titan named Gaia and then Uranus was created from the void and then it showed him how (the history of) Greece was created and parts of the sea were created with the rise of the Titans and then the fall of the Titans due to the rise of the Greek Gods.

Looking at various locations he saw many Gods creating land and sea. He saw how God named Pangu was created First chaos developed a cosmic egg in the region known as china. Pangu was born from the cosmic egg after the egg perfected the principles of yin and yang. As he born he separated yin (earth) from yang (heaven) separating the two as he grew daily in the process he created the phoenix, dragon, turtle, and qilin. As he died each aspect of his body created various parts of the world he resided in. He created the wind, mist, cloud, thunder, sun, moon, mountain, rivers, minerals, diamonds, stars, the milky way, forest, and animals. From this, a titan of a sort named Houtu was created who was similar to Gaia and Houtu married Tudigong and from there, various gods were created and with the rise and fall of these Gods until the Jade Emperor became ruler of all. 

As these gods created different parts of the world he saw his homeland which was known as the Americas or When I slept I could somehow sense the gods from all over Cemanahuac and the world was watching me from afar. I knew somehow my journey was simple but it wouldn't always be so this world would become my trial and hardship.  being created by various Gods He saw how turtle island was collectively being created as well as South America's creation. He witnesses each various tribes origin stories happening at once. He saw his own tribes stories where he witnesses the Rarámuri tribe creation he sun and moon are siblings who, in the first days, dressed in leaves of palm and the only light to reach Earth came from the morning star, a louse from the head of the sun. The moon noticed the louse and ate it, plunging the world into total darkness. The early ancestors erected tall crosses of redwood, soaked them in alcohol and set them on fire, burning off the palm leaves and allowing them to shine in the sky. The sun and moon grew angry and flooded the world, destroying everything except for a one Tarahumara boy and one girl who hid in the mountains with three kernels of corn and three beans. After the flood, the corn and beans were grown into a bountiful harvest and the boy and girl procreated, creating the Tarahumara tribe of today.

As the same time, he witnesses his other tribe's creation known as the Mexica tribe From the void that was the rest of the universe, the first god, Ometeotl, created itself. Ometeotl (A/N some say that Ometeotl was two Gods, not one God existing as male and female) was both male and female, good and evil, light and darkness, fire and water, judgment and forgiveness, the god of duality. Ometeotl gave birth to four children, the four Tezcatlipoca's, who each preside over one of the four cardinal directions. Over the West presides the White Tezcatlipoca, Quetzalcoatl, the god of light, mercy, and wind. Over the South presides the Blue Tezcatlipoca, Huitzilopochtli, the god of war. Over the East presides the Red Tezcatlipoca, Xipe Totec, the god of gold, farming, and Springtime. And over the North presides the Black Tezcatlipoca, also called simply Tezcatlipoca, the god of judgment, night, deceit, sorcery and the Earth.

First sun
It was these four gods who eventually created all the other gods and the world we know today, but before they could create they had to destroy, for every time they attempted to create something, it would fall into the water beneath them and be eaten by Cipactli who was possessed by the evil darkness, the giant earth crocodile, who swam through the water with mouths at every one of her joints. The four Tezcatlipoca's descended the first people who were giants. They created the other gods, the most important of whom were the water gods: Tlaloc, the god of rain and fertility and Chalchiuhtlicue, the goddess of lakes, rivers, and oceans, also the goddess of beauty. To give light, they needed a god to become the sun and the Black Tezcatlipoca was chosen, but either because he had lost a leg or because he was a god of the night, he only managed to become half a sun. The world continued in this way for some time, but a sibling rivalry from the evil darkness influence grew between Quetzalcoatl and his brother the mighty sun, who Quetzalcoatl knocked from the sky with a stone club. With no sun, the world was black and in his anger, Tezcatlipoca commanded his jaguars to eat all the people.

Second sun
The gods created a new group of people to inhabit the Earth, this time they were of normal size. Quetzalcoatl became the new sun and as the years passed, the people of the Earth grew less and less civilized and stopped showing proper honor to the gods. As a result, Tezcatlipoca demonstrated his power and authority as a god of sorcery and judgment by turning the animalistic people into monkeys. Quetzalcoatl, who had loved the flawed people as they were, became upset (as the evil interfered once again) and blew all of the monkeys from the face of the Earth with a mighty hurricane. He then stepped down as the sun to create new people.

Third sun
Tlaloc became the next Sun, but Tezcatlipoca (heard whispers from the darkness and was tempted to ) seduced and steal his (Tlaloc's) wife Xochiquetzal, the goddess of sex, flowers, and corn. Tlaloc then refused to do anything other than wallow in his grief, so a great drought swept the world. The people's prayers for rain annoyed the grieving sun and he refused to allow it to rain, but the people continued to beg him. Then, in a fit of rage, he answered their prayers with a great downpour of fire. It continued to rain fire until the entire Earth had burned away. The gods then had to construct a whole new Earth from the ashes.

Fourth sun

To aid this all-important god in his continuing war, the Aztecs offer him the nourishment of human sacrifices. They also offer human sacrifices to Tezcatlipoca in fear of his judgment, offer their blood to Quetzalcoatl, who opposes fatal sacrifices, in thanks of his blood sacrifice for them and give offerings to many other gods for many purposes. Should these sacrifices cease, or should mankind fail to please the gods for any other reason, this fifth sun will go black, the world will be shattered by a catastrophic earthquake, and the Tzitzimitl will slay Huitzilopochtli and all of humanity.

He watched all of them being created and he could not recall them call as his focused on the world being created as a whole altogether the gods collectively created the universe and the earth each land with its creation and Gods and monsters not knowing of each other existence and slowly learning of each other. it all ended as he completely went through the portal and he realized he was in a random forest on turtle island. It was at this moment that Cuetlachtli began to allow everything he witnesses to be processed with ease as he lifted one hand and summoned his camp with his summoning powers. At the same time, he noticed that his senses were slowly becoming stronger. He could smell, hear, sense things from a distance. He felt at ease in the forest and his summoned camp had a powerful barrier to prevent anyone and anything with the intent to harm the summoner from entering. He ate his food which consists of tortillas, turkey, lizard, beans, and squash for the night. He even had something to drink that was known as Tesgüino it was at this moment he was drinking and heard from all directions the howls of wolves! 

I was eating food that tasted so divine it even had honey on it and I was drinking my drink while processing everything and it tasted so good it was like corn with various herbs and all of a sudden I heard wolves howl all around me. I jolted and sputtered my drink all over my clothes. I wanted to do something different with my clothes and used my summoned energy on it so that way my clothes became my summoned and I could change their look however I wanted. I kept the lookout for various other animals but could sense one pack headed my way. I summoned the wind to dry my clothes as I stood watching the wolves slowly approach I felt safe but weird I smelled the air deeply and could sense somehow in some way that they were trustable and sat back down and wanted to see what happened. As I sat down near the fire the wolves slowly entered my camp as my protective barrier rippled as an indication that someone entered but was truly worthy. As the wolves slowly walked before me the alpha wolf submitted himself before me and went into a submissive posture after that his packed followed suit. 

I felt an instinctive need to bite the alpha so I changed into a towering wolf form on instinct as well without fully understanding what I was doing I bit the wolf on the neck as The alpha (father wolf) whimpered for a moment and then I released him. He changed and healed before me into a much larger wolf and could communicate with me mentally. [I welcome you to this world and thank you for bestowing upon me whatever gift you have given me. I and my pack submit to you oh great wolf] while I was listening to him speak I changed back into human form slowly. 

I asked him "Why do you call me the great wolf? why have you come before me and explain to me what just happened." The wolf tilted his head as he was listening to me. Once more he spoke in my head [My pack and me felt a great pull and on instinct we came here. Others will come as well since we naturally submit to you as our leader. I don't know how I changed and what happened myself but It seems you used the qualities of a leader, father, strong and powerful we don't want to fight you and lose our packs] I thought about this and could feel on a level that was incomprehensible that I somehow made him my familiar and by doing so I made him stronger than a dire wolf. So I put my summoned energy around his whole pack making them my summons and by making them connected to the wolf I just changed, they began to change as well gaining similar abilities to him and indirectly becoming my familiars as well. We could all converse mentally at this point collectively we decided not to turn all the other packs who were coming but to let them know to heed the call when we need assistant by my familiars howling and communicating with them this way. 

The other packs howled back in acknowledgment and agreement. I asked the wolves if they have seen any other people nearby because I could tell for 6 miles there were no people. They said 10 miles around us there were men of different tribes but they were all of the similar origins. I told them I wanted to go south to a land of the desert they told me that they had wolf brothers in the south. So they decided to guide me there. We walked 10 miles before we reached what I used to know as the border of Mexico possibly approaching El Paso in my past life meaning I was somewhere in what I use to know as Texas and I am currently in the old world of turtle island. Wolves can walk for 10-30 miles for food so this kind of travel was nothing to them and I was quite enjoying myself as I walked with a super-powered group of wolves that are my familiars. After our 10 mile trek, we ended up walking into a location that belonged to Pueblos tribes. They were astonished to see me surrounded by big wolves. 

The Pueblos tribes welcomed me with open arms and with caution because of the wolves but they could tell I was dressed in Mexica tribe clothing. Thinking I was royalty or something because of colors on my clothes. My familiars followed me into town because I promised the tribe that my wolves will not harm anyone. The children began playing with wolves with respect, some fear, and awe. They laughed and giggled which made me think of my children when I last saw them with the Ancestors. They accepted and asked me why did the Mexica send me up and if they are requesting more tribute because that it shouldn't happen yet until next week basically. I explained to them I was not here for tribute just travel and then the tribe was friendly and offered me women, more clothes and food. I said no thank you to everything but the food and they were very hospitable. I told them I must go to my homeland in the morning they allowed me a place to sleep and some food. When I slept I could somehow sense the gods from all over Cemanahuac and the world was watching me from afar. I knew somehow my journey was simple but it wouldn't always be so this world would become my trial and hardship.

A man who was renamed Cuetlachtli somehow obtained the power to summon absolutely almost anything was sent to a world of darkness where absolutely nothing exists what does he do where will his journey lead him? It didn't take long before the ground was full of people.
The least injured among them had several broken bones, and several of them were completely dead.
Zod walked directly to the bar inside the restaurant.
"Give me your best serving of BBQ you have here as well as some iced Coke. Use the largest glass so there is enough ice."
Zod has always missed Coke from Earth. Even when he tried to make it on Krypton, he couldn't copy the taste completely.
Of course, the bartender did not dare to refuse. Zod looked around to scan for a table to sit at but found all of them either broken or dirty. While the bartender sent the order to the chef in the back, Zod searched the gangster's pockets for money.

After eating Zod did not go back immediately but began to wander around in this foreign town.

Although the headquarters of the Scorpion Gang is not in Texas like the Skeleton Gang, it doesn't mean they have no forces here.
More than fifty gunmen set out immediately to solve the guy who had beat them black and blue and threw the prestige of their gang out of the window.
Zod's actions couldn't hide from the eyes of their informants and it didn't take long for him to be blocked on the street.
The police in Texas don't care about the scorpion gang or can't handle them. After all, most of them are corrupt cops who collect dirty money from the scorpion gang.
Zod was standing there very surprised.

East Perrin was in charge of the dynamics of their surroundings. Being the leader of Leo Town originally, it was no sweat for East Perrin to control such a small base with so little people. Based on what Garen observed, this lady would have no problem even if she were to lead over thousands of people in a large compound. This allowed him to truly focus on what concerned him the most at the moment.
As he started to familiarize himself with the Energy Machine Imprint at the special ability space, Garen gave the Big Wild Wolves a slight reformation, layering another coat of thin bony scales on the surface of their bodies. This was the result of self-secretion of its own disposal frame and was able to increase the Big Wild Wolves' self-defense mechanism.
Within 10 days' time, the reproductive quantity of the Big Wild Wolves had increased to nearly 30. In reality, they could still continue to reproduce, but this quantity was the optimum because the surrounding grassland was not sufficient to supply mutated creatures such as the Big Wild Wolves. Garen also tried to search on the internet for information on reforming the human body at the special ability space but they were all classified as confidential information. Reformation of the human's body was a taboo universally, so he ended up with not much information to begin with. All he knew was that a few energy machinery grandmasters were issued a killing order for experimenting with human reformation. They have disappeared ever since.
Garen could only test around the waters by himself. The good thing was he did some in-depth study on genes and biological structures back in Totem World. Although there were many challenges to overcome, he could still find other ways to circumvent the difficulties.

Sinno was not born with the gift of Willpower and that could be a disadvantage when it came down to her resistance against Willpower battles. Furthermore, she could not pilot a Mech. The only two choices were either strengthening her physique to achieve the level where mutated creatures in flesh were able to resist Mechs; or activating her inherence of Willpower so that she had the capability to use her Willpower.
Sinno definitely had strong endurance, and in addition to her excellent combat talent, Garen wanted to let her strengthen her physique instead of the latter.
As for the choice of organ, Garen did not have many choices. It was either the two-headed sheep or the Predator. In comparison, the structure of a predator's organ may be more suitable. As long as he could find a high level predator, it would be a powerful one as it is currently the specimen that people from the region is very much afraid of.
Unfortunately, predators have a high concentration of pollution from its radiation virus. Garen had no confidence that he could take care of a virus that the entire region had no way of curing so long. Therefore, this plan would have to be put aside temporarily.
He first chose a special organ from the two-headed sheep – its intestines. In such grasslands, the two-headed sheep were creatures with the highest adaptation ability. To be able to succeed on his first try led Garen to be more confident for his next transplantation. Sinno and Garen firmly believed that if they could find a stronger biological cell, her strength would continue to increase.
In the meantime, East Perrin and the others were progressing fast in altering the Crouched Eagle Talon Willpower. East Perrin who was originally at Level Three Willpower was as fast as ever. While Garen was reforming Sinno's body, East Perrin had already completely altered her original Willpower to the Crouched Eagle Talon Willpower. Both her arms were covered with an extremely robust translucent Willpower Field. This was the specialty of the Crouched Eagle Talon. Her explosive force also increased significantly.
Even though she had not fully learned the attack techniques of Pure Willpower, but at least she had a decent defense ability now if she would to encounter attacks. In addition to her complete post-consciousness, even if she was to face the same level of Willpower attack, she would no longer crumble at the first impact like before.

Garen handed over the things used to control the Big Wild Wolves to East Perrin. Since the wolves were hosts of the Distorted Seed, it was impossible for all biological creatures to turn and attack Garen so it was safe to say that their safety was not a major issue now. He had also simplified the control method so that East Perrin could easily control them. There were about 30 Big Wild Wolves, each of them almost the same level as a Level Two Predator. That meant that they have a compelling strength in their hands.
East Perrin closed the door properly and looked at the people present. Instantly, her leadership prevailed as how it was in Leo Town.
"Fanny, tell us how's the situation?"
Fanny nodded and cleared his throat as everyone sat down around the old table.
"When I was controlling the drone on patrol, I noticed that a small group of predators have appeared towards the West side. The downside was these predators seemed to have a certain disciplined formation with zero conflicts among themselves. After observing them for two days, I believe that this small group is probably from one of the larger group, and there could be approximately 2,000 to 5,000 of them."
As soon as he finished his sentence, everybody's faces changed. The number of predators that attacked Leo Town back then was about this number.
"I'm not done speaking," Fanny continued gloomily. "According to my observation and Master Malone's past experiences, the bigger the number of predators, the more the higher ranked predators there will be among them. With a group consisting of thousands, plus the high ranked predators that we faced the last time, this time there is likely to be more vicious and Level Three predators."
"According to our experiment, the Big Wild Wolf is indeed strong, but its power is only equivalent to a Level Two Predator. Three Big Wild Wolves can only face one Level Two Predator, and we only have 30 wolves…" Malone continued.
"The summit is easy to defend and hard to be attacked so let's just focus our power at the top." The young man Belebar said in a hushed tone.
"With such a big group of predators, the food supply they need on a daily basis is not a small number so I don't think they will be able to stay put for long. The only path leading to this summit is the canyon trail and that is what we need to defend. All we need are five Big Wild Wolves to block the path securely, and with the cooperation of our people we should be able to protect the summit safely."
"You can put it that way, but what if they dawdle with us?" The middle-aged woman Shangrella asked lightly.
East Perrin frowned and pondered.
"There is no way we're giving up this summit. There aren't any other places around us that are suitable for defense. If we let the Big Wild Wolves guard the canyon, they should be able to hold up some time. What about our food supply at the summit?"
"We have enough food to last us for about a month, I froze all the dried meat so they won't go to waste. Don't worry about water too. We're not concerned with the high concentration of radiation anymore so we can live safely on the top of the mountain. The fishes I breed are still not needed at the moment but after some time, they'd be able to provide us with a certain amount of meat. As everybody nodded in agreement, she continued, "I shall immediately report this to Mr Garen, we will need his support to replenish and renourish the Big Wild Wolves."
"I will go check the defense areas." Shangrella stood up and said.
"I will go check on the two children."
Everyone got up and left.
East Perrin went to Fanny and looked again at the recording of the predators and their formation. The situation was worse than what she imagined. The predators were not only big in numbers, but they were also approaching rapidly.
"It's too bad we don't have enough transplanted herbs medicine to have enough Big Wild Wolves, or else we wouldn't have to be this afraid of such lowly!" East Perrin sneered. Her home was destroyed by these monsters. Even she herself was almost killed by them. Everyone in the base had unspeakable hatred towards the Predators.
"Bring the recording and follow me, we're going to see Mr Garen." She motioned towards the disk containing the tape.
The both of them turned and left the war room, walking towards the third ground basement.
They descended the basement steps and pushed open a heavy, stone door. A stone grey corridor appeared. A Big Wild Wolf was crouched right in the middle of the corridor passage, its eyes were closed and it was snoring. Hearing sounds, it got up immediately and stared intently at the two people who walked in. Recognizing them, he lazed back down on the floor.
East Perrin and Fanny walked past the Big Wild Wolf and down the corridor, and entered a small, empty room. There was a sour stench in the room.
"Every time I enter this sterilization chamber, I feel as if my nose just breathed in a mouthful of chilli powder…" Fanny forced on a wry smile.
"There's nothing I can do, this is Mr Garen's order to ensure that the biochemical room does not face any disturbance and achieve its best efficiency." East Perrin did not like the smell as well but there was nothing she could do, this was a disinfecting gas they had to go through.
After staying for a couple of minutes in the room, the both of them approached a small door in the corner. Pushing the door opened, they enter a wide stone hall. Right in the middle of the hall was a pool filled with blood-red biochemical fluid. There was a fragrant smell in the air with a slight hint of blood in it.


One moment, Luo Jing was at the brink of death after accidentally touching a power outlet while showering. The next, he was in the body of a man named Garen, with memories of a past he was never a part of flowing into his head. As he slowly gets used to the body of Garen, he begins to explore a planet beyond his own logical comprehension. His journey will see him go from surviving in a planet locked in the 20th century, to wielding secret techniques so powerful that they level cities overnight. However, his journey doesn’t end with Garen. Instead this is but the first of many bodies that Luo Jing will come to wield in his mystical journey between worlds.

AIDA GROANED AND SLOWLY. It was late morning and the sun was shining. Bending down the Queen's warm lips came into contact with her son's forehead. "Happy birthday my sweet boy."
"I'm not a boy!" He pouted, his foot stomping on the ground. "I'm a man!" The Queen laughed as she shrugged her robes on. The pair walked hand in hand to the kitchen, their noses pointed to the sky at the smell of sizzling bacon.
Aida slid into her throne of the dining room chair, as Adonis sat in his chair to her left. The dining table was a dark marble slab, slated with silvers, golds, and whites. At one end sat the Queen's chair, it was gold with flakes of silver and red. On the other end sat the King's chair, dipped in silver, hints of gold and red pushed through. There were ten additional chairs along the lengths, with five on each side.
Somewhere along the lines the King and Queen decided that in the future their kids would sit by order of age; the oldest on Aida's left and the youngest on Draco's left. That is if they had more than three kids of course. Aida smiled as she watched Adonis load his waffle the same way she had loaded hers in the wee hours of the morning. A man after my own heart, she thought to herself with a smile. Grabbing a bagel croissant she loaded it with a fried egg, cheese, bacon, avocado and of course hot sauce.
A moan of pleasure could be heard leaving the Queen's mouth as she experienced a wolf of wondrous flavors. "Can we do presents now?"
"Of course baby." With help from the table, the Queen rose to a stand. A hand rested on her belly and the other was holding firmly onto Adonis. As they entered the den they were shocked by the mounds of presents. It seemed every lycan in the kingdom was fond of the young prince.
Settling herself down on the sofa, the Queen watched her son excitedly tear through his gifts. It took hours for him to get through everything because the sweet boy took the time to play with every toy and try on every piece of clothing. "When you're done folding the paper and putting the things back in their boxes, call Ingrid in and then meeting me in my quarters. I have a surprise for you." Quite feverishly Adonis began to do as his mother had asked his mind on one thing and one thing only; his surprise.
"Come in Doni," the Queen's voice was gentle and full of love. "Sit," she smiled, gently patting the seat on the sofa beside her. "Your father and I wanted to give this to you when we first adopted you, but we decided to wait until your birthday." The Queen reached behind her and pulled fingers pinched the gold crown as she placed it on top of the wild curls he shared with his dad.
"Where is papa?" He asked quietly.
"Well," she sighed, "he was taken. When we sent you away to go stay with grandma and grandpa it was for your protection. In our world, your father and I have enemies, wolves and non-wolves. But all lycans and werewolves have a common enemy; hunters. Hunters are people that hunt and kill supernatural creatures.
They waged a war on us to get to your father, because without your father around the lycan kingdom will fall. When they came for us at the solstice party, he had to leave-"
"Why?" He interrupted her, angry at his father for not caring. "Why did he leave you and the babies...and me," the last part was a whisper, but it didn't go unnoticed by his mother.
"If he stayed they would have taken him away forever and that pain of losing him would consume me until I eventually slipped away. I cannot survive without my mate."
"What's a mate?" He scrunched up his button nose, confused by the word.
"A mate is a supernatural creature's other half. The Moon Goddess herself makes sure to pair one soul to another. A lycan can be paired with any soul: another Lycan, a Demon, a Vampire, a Witch, or even a mundane."
"Does she have a mate?"
"The Moon Goddess? It's complicated, she has her true mate one that she always returns to at night, but she has her lovers, just like any God. Maybe one day I'll share her story with you."
"Is papa still alive?"
"Yes," she breathed out. She thanked the Goddess for allowing mates to know when the other had been taken, or else she does not know how she would have survived the past weeks.

Jason, Jordan, Zeke, and a handful of warriors all sat anxiously in one of the Royal cars as they drove from Massachusetts to Texas to go and rescue their King. "Ready?" He asked as they jumped out of the vehicles and onto Texas soil. "Save your energy, don't shift unless you have too, but use your wolf instincts." They all nodded, ready to save their Alpha.
"Let's go." They shuffled one behind the other, their army like boots clunking on the forest ground, their guns raised and loaded. Jason shot the hunters that stood on the roof of the warehouse, and then they continued on. His two fingers went up, signally Jordan to go forward and pick the lock. Their wolf ears pressed hard to listen to what was happening on the other side of the door, but it was quiet.
Not a single sound other than hearts beating and lungs expanding and contracting. When the door finally creaked open, Jason took his spot in front of the lycans again, their wolves navigating them to the King. They managed to get to the King's cell unheard and unseen, making sure to stay in the shadows and kill when needed. "Alpha?" It was a timid whisper from Jason as they stood in front of the cell.
A low grunt came followed by a string of curse words. "Jason? What the bloody hell are you doing here?" When Draco stepped into the light, his men cringed, his body was broken and bloodied and he smelled like burning flesh.
"Rumi told us where to find you," they waited as Jordan picked yet another lock. "We left Luna with the pack, she doesn't know."
"Thank you," he sighed. "I don't want her to see me. Not like this."
"Come on," Jason muttered, "let's get you out of here." There was shouting in the distance as the Hunters began to realize what was happening.
Mai?′ The Alpha spoke into the mind of his fellow prison mate. 'Come with us. Please.' With the help of his demon, he ripped the bars off and pulled her out.
′I can't leave you here.′ She was hesitant to go with him, unsure whether or not she wanted to be introduced to the Lycan Kingdom. All she had ever known were the dark walls in which Maxwell kept her in. She was more human than most Lycan's, she didn't have the ability to shift, but Maxwell raised her with the hopes that maybe one day he could send her into a pack and use her for his own benefit. With his hand around her wrist he safely secured her a spot behind him.
"RIVERS!" Maxwell screamed when he reached the empty cell. "Come out come out wherever you are." Draco froze at the sound of the person who had caused him so much harm over the past month. A low growl erupted from his chest as he heard the hunter walking closer.
"Gotcha," he smiled. His dagger was raised and then one second it was flying through the air, catching in Mai's shoulder. A cry could be heard throughout the building as she felt the silver penetrating her body. It wouldn't burn her flesh like it had done with King's but it sure as hell hurt.
'Go,' she turned towards her Alpha. ′Go while I distract them.′ But he didn't move, ′Go!′
He wanted to stay, but she was stubborn and dead set on getting him back to this Queen. Thrown over the wolf form of Zeke, Draco turned and got one last glance of the girl who saved his life. He glanced just as her body went limp and she slumped to the ground, eyes wide open, and the light inside of them dimming. She was gone. Dead.

The Pentagon building…

Once the largest building in mankind, it had so many rooms that it matched its grandeur. There were rooms that had not been used properly for more than half a century since the Pentagon had been built.
 
The same was true of the days after the monsters appeared. When the Pentagon building became the headquarters of the Pentagon, not the United States Department of Defense, nobody felt there was not enough room for the small number of people belonging to the Pentagon who began to live in the Pentagon building.
 
Mao Spencer could quietly watch the Globe of Behaim, which showed the location of legendary relics, alone in a room with a sunny window, with a magnifying glass. He was looking at Asia now. It was a small piece of land on the globe, but not China or Japan: the Korean Peninsula.
 
Mao was breathing, staring silently at it with a magnifying glass. In Mao's eyes, several very small lights, little more than dust, shone on the Korean Peninsula and disappeared. Mao looked away from the magnifying glass.
 
"If I see that most of the legendary relics still remain in Korea… there is no particular movement."
 
The Globe of Behaim, the first globe of mankind, had the ability to tell the location of legendary relics in the world. It did not inform easily. Once a day a light came up like a lightning strike from the dry sky in the area of legendary relics. The light was not observable by a camera or anything, and only visible to the naked eye. That was why Mao spent his time holding a magnifying glass in front of the globe.
 
'Everything is going well.' Of course, Mao had no complaints about it. He would not have come here without this Behaim Globe.
 
"If we gain the Mayan Calendar and Dr. Chang's research is fruitful, there will be no more games." Most of all, what Mao was satisfied with was that there would be nothing to stop him sooner or later. Just remembering that, Mao could smile at any time, and under any circumstances.
 
"Mr. Mao." Major Chinshan came into his room.

In other words, it was the best shield. No one in the world would want to face Quetzalcoatl in exchange for killing Mao. Even Mao himself did not intend to face Quetzalcoatl. So it was the best shield.
 
'There's only one left.' So now Mao had only one thing to do: getting the strongest spear that could break anything in the world at once.
 
'When Dr. Chang's research is fruitful, even the best spear will come into my hands.' It would not be long before even the spear would come in Mao's hand. And as soon as the day came, Mao would not spare what he had.

When the Black Dragon began to sleep in Fort Worth, the biggest beneficiary was Dallas, which was next door to Fort Worth. Dallas City had become virtually the center and the whole of Texas. Naturally, everything in Texas was gathered in Dallas City. Oil gathered, people gathered, and Hunters gathered.
 
Dallas City began to enjoy an unprecedented boom. The most popular thing in the boom was the bar. It was a natural procedure. Now, the best way to spend time in a boring world without baseball, football, or ice hockey was to play poker, darts, or chat with a red-faced drunk.
 
The same was true of a bar named Dallas Cowboy, located outside Dallas. The bar was crowded, even if it was outside of the city.
 
The bustle did not change much when a new Asian guest came alone. No one was very concerned that the man had two unique swords on his back. The bartender was the same. The bartender did not ask where he came from, what his nationality was, how hard it was to get there, what his job was, or if he was a Hunter. They weren't something to be curious about in Texas.
 
"What would you like to order?" So the bartender spoke briefly and to the point.
 
"Coffee."
 
But when the man answered, the mood changed a little. The bartender smiled awkwardly for a moment in front of this ridiculous order.
 
"I'm sorry, but I don't sell coffee here."
 
"Then a glass of hot water and a mug."
 
The bartender cocked his head again, but it was not a statement of doubt. The bartender's eyes were proof of it. There was no question mark in the bartender's eyes.
 
A man approached in the strange atmosphere of the bartender and the Asian guest.
 
"Hey, there." He was a man drinking from a large beer glass filled with beer nearby. "I don't know where you came from, but this is a bar. There are only two things you can order. Drinks and women."
 
Kim Tae-hoon said quietly at the words of the man filled with the smell of beer, "Jenny, Mitchell."
 
At that moment the mood changed. Those who seated at a table far away from the bar moved. The men holding the glasses laid them down on the table, and the men who were not holding the glasses moved their hands toward the guns that were on their thighs or sides or at their backs. The atmosphere began to spread, eventually reaching the point of an Asian man who said the name, Jennifer Mitchell.
 
Click! The sound of a revolver hammer being thrown back entered the ear of the man in front of the bartender.

The Asian man who took out the poster looked at it and then turned to the waitress who was looking at him from the corner of the bar.
 
"Jennifer Mitchell."
 
Blam! Instantly, the gun went off, and with the shot, everyone pulled their guns in response. Dozens of guns locked on one place. The many eyes of those holding the guns also looked at that place. They could see that the man had snatched the bullet from the air as it was. No, to be exact, no one had seen it properly. It was something they could not see with simple eyes, done in an eyeblink
 
Instead, the man who grabbed the bullet with his hand dropped a small hunk of lead, clattering to the floor of the wooden bar, letting them guess what had happened before and after at that moment.
 
'No way!'
'Did he catch the bullet?'
 
It was an absurd situation. The man who did such a crazy thing in such a situation was still looking at the waitress, without even glancing at other people.
 
"Let's start the briefing. Sooner or later, the Black Dragon will come to the city of Dallas. All the functions of Dallas will be paralyzed. Take control of the city of Dallas, aiming at the cracks."

The First Hunter is a short Korean, action-fantasy novel situated in a post-apocalyptic world. Monsters start appearing out of nowhere and people are unlocking strange powers. Those who unlock such powers are called ‘Hunters’, ones with the strength to kill the monsters. To fight and survive, that is their goal. Society crumbles and the world burns.

A very fun novel that dives into the plot almost instantly. The novel is interesting in a way that it depicts a lot of human nature and what people would do in a situation such as this is quite an accurate manner. The character development is also very good as you get to learn about the characters, their backgrounds, and their stories. All in all, this is another novel I’d recommend to a lot of readers who are interested in reading fantasy and gaming novels.
