The teacher didnt actually take Milo and Renjamin to their room. He did for the other students but he left them out. He said it was because he had to go work on the upcoming classes, but Milo knew that was just a lie. 

Milo could see the fear that was on the teachers face when he spoke about the 'Haunted Dormitories.' Milo wasn't really sure how to feel with all of this. Was he supposed to be afraid like the teacher and Renjamin. He couldn't help but think how he had never actually seen the building before, so why would be scared of it. 

This mindset that Milo had, was both a blessing and a curse. Milo would suffer to great lengths because of this mindset. Fear is not a bad thing, it is there after all to keep us alive in dangerous situations. Milo would also make incredible gains because of this uncanny outlook on life. Only by living through and not backing down can one profit in a deadly situation. 

Milo and Renjamin had to walk to their dorms on their own. The only nice part about this was that they could look around the world that the school was in. They weren't pressured by the teacher tasty in the group and not fall behind. They were also given a map. 

This map wasn't supposed to be given to the students. It was a facility map that showed the entire campus. This was also no ordinary paper or plastic map it was electronic. It showed the ENTIRE school campus with was mind boggling large. How large you might ask? It was so large that it took up around three percent of this entire world. Three percent might not sound like a lot, but only three percent had actually been explored in millions of years. Do you have a good perspective of how large it is now?

When both of them were walking together Renjamin asked Milo in a shaking voice.

"Do you really think were we will be staying is haunted?"

Milo responded to Renjamin not really caring about how he would feel.

"Yea probably, I couldn't imagine any other reason for the teacher to say that. This school is already so strange and fantastic ' too hard to think it might be haunted."

These were the most non measuring words Renjamin had ever heard. He was expecting Milo to say it wasn't true but he was completely wrong. Now Renjamin just felt even more scared, he was even shaking profusely.

They were both taking minor detours on the way while walking towards their rooms. Milo wanted to backtrack and look at the crystal tower they passed before, but Renjamin didn't want to and wouldn't let Milo go.

They saw a multitude of beautiful sights along the campus. In one spot there was a massive bird-cage that looked to be miles long. When the both of them looked inside, it was full of different kinds of birds. There were emerald-green ones, blazing purple ones, and the most amazing was one that looked to be the size of an elephant and had every color of the rainbow and more on it. This wasn't the only sight they saw though.

A forest stretched out for as far as one could see. It was a deep piercing green that almost blinded one to look at. The trees were so tall they looked like they would pierce the heavens. There was a thick fog that seemed to permeate the entire forest, it almost seemed to be trapped within as none of it leaked out. 

There were sounds washing over the two of them when they were walking by. Loud guttural roars rang in their ears. Almost unnoticeable squeaks were heard coming from different directions, it sounded like the small furry friends were holding a conversation. Squawks rang out above the trees as the birds were singing their evening songs to the joy or dismay of the animals bellow. A sense of tension seemed to permeate the area and a slight hint fear could be felt. Something only Milo noticed was an almost unrecognizable bloodlust that locked on to the both of them as they walked by. 

Even though they could hear all these noises not a single animal could be seen. It was almost as if they were hiding from them, which they were. The animals at the edge of the forest were horrified of humans as they knew about their dreadful Singulas. 

When Milo and Renjamin were almost passed the forest, Renjamin looked into the forest and saw a ghostly apparition. Renjamin was petrified at this sight and couldn't even form words to speak. Milo looked over at Renjamin and saw his profuse shaking only get worse, he also noticed a cold sweat pouring off of him.  Milo was confused by this so he looked into the forest also, what he saw was trail that winded in to the darkness. There was a sign besides path with archaic symbols written on it. Milo had never seen these symbols but for some reason could understand what it said.

"Beware the darkness young one. For those that look, can never look away. Beware the darkness young one. All those who see, shall never see again. Beware the darkness... For when one stares into the abyss, the abyss stares back at thee."

Milo was confused by this cryptic message that was left on the sign. Were the sign said "beware the darkness" for the third time it appeared to be carved away. Milo had no idea why he could read this, or what any of it meant, but he did have this feeling that what it said was incredibly important. Oddly enough it felt like just this one sign held more significance than everything he had learned in his entire life. 

Milo looked over to Renjamin and asked him. 

"Renjamin can you read what that sign says."

Milo pointed to the sign when he said this, Renjamin followed Milos finger with his eyes were it was pointing. Renjamin had a quizzical look on his face and asked Milo.

"Milo are you ok, there is no sign were your pointing only a slight dent in the ground."

Milo was just about to refute Renjamin when he looked back to where the sign was. What Renjamin said had been right there was only a slight indent in the ground with a square piece of stone in the middle of it. 

Milo felt he must have made up what he had seen, but life is not so simple. Like a lightning bolt striking him, he realized the stone were he thought the sign was, was the same material as what the sign was made with.

Kevin set the folder down and looked through her backpack for the map. He opened the map and saw several places circled in red permanent marker. He felt someone step behind him.
"The boss wants to see that," they said quietly.
It was one of his father's agents. Folding the map, he put it in his folder of homework and put it all in his backpack as Lotus got back. She replaced what she had taken and closed her backpack. Then she picked up her backpack and turned to leave.
"Wait. Where are you going?"
"For a long walk before class. If I sit anymore I'll fall asleep again. Do you want to come?"
"No, thanks. I should work on homework."
"Okay. See you later."
Kevin watched her leave then was instructed to go into one of the quiet rooms on one of the upper floors. In the room were his father and two other agents. He joined them at the table and pulled out the map. Kevin's father didn't like what he saw. All of the red circles on the map were where The Opposition's hidden bases were located. They talked about a course of action. Kevin sat in disbelief and stared at the map. The map was shifted slightly and he saw something he hadn't before. There were a few circles of a different color on the map.

Pressing the corners of the map flat, Aurther Kunzite noticed a hand written key in the corner. The red circles had the initials H.F.; the lighter circles had the initials M.S. Again these had little meaning to the agents. There was a soft knock on the door and a half sheet of paper slid under the door. One of the agents picked it up and read it before handing it to Aurther Kunzite. After reading it, he slammed it against the table and turned to the window.

He set the paper down. "How did she know?"
"It's probably a set up," his father answered. "We need to find out more about her."
The three agents talked and Kevin continued to study the map. He caught mention of questioning, but they would have to be specific since she didn't open up easily. His mind wandered after that to his dream. He still didn't think Lotus could play that part.
"Kevin?" his father asked. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah," he said, glancing at his watch. "I've got to go to class now."
"Okay. We'll hang onto the map."
Kevin gave a short nod then left.
Lotus was talking quietly with the professor when he arrived. Before class started she was handed a large thick envelope and given an encouraging smile. She put this in her backpack where he noticed three other envelopes of similar thickness, but they had stamps on them. He was never given a chance to ask about them because halfway through class she got up and left. After class he called her. Her phone was off and went straight to voice mail. Hanging up, he went to her place. She wasn't there. Kevin called his dad and asked if he could locate her phone. He was able to and was told she was in the library. Turning around, he returned to the school and went into the library. He searched each floor but couldn't find her. She had to be there somewhere. Kevin looked around a few times, trying her cell phone every once in a while. Finally she answered.
"Lotus."
"Where are you?" he asked.
"Mail room in Wheelock."
"What are you doing there?" Kevin started to head down there.
"Mailing my school work to my professors."
"Why not just turn it in tomorrow?"
"Some of the professors are from my other school."
"Right," he said, trying to keep the sarcasm from his voice.
The line went dead. "Lotus?"
"I'll see you tomorrow, Kevin" she said from behind him.
He turned in surprise, and watched her leave before he returned to his apartment.
His father was there again.  "Are you okay, Kevin?" he asked. "She didn't do anything to you did she?"
"No. I don't know what to think anymore. Everyday things have become questionable. I was reminded today that she's been taking online classes in addition to the ones she has here and she had four thick envelopes in her backpack earlier."
"What was in them?"
"I'm assuming homework. She mailed them off tonight."
"Perhaps we can track them."
Kevin didn't say anything. He opened the fridge and found the left over burrito and warmed it up in the microwave. Ever since the lock down, Lotus seemed to be turning into a completely different person. Or was it himself? When the microwave beeped, he pulled out the burrito and found the BBQ sauce before taking it to the table to eat. His dad sat across from him and asked him about their conversations over the last few days. They had been normal conversations about school, health, and things she had been researching. Then his brain latched onto something—the envelopes—why would she be getting them from professors here at school too?
"I'll look into those, Kevin," Aurther said.
"Okay," he replied, but something about them still bothered him.
His father left quietly as he went to his bed and slept.

He woke early the next morning and wheeled himself out of his apartment building. An undercover agent gave him an ear piece to keep in from now on so his father knew what was going on around him. He rolled around campus trying not to think about The Enemy or of Lotus, but he found that hard to do. Entering the Wyatt building, Kevin took the elevator to the third floor. Lotus was already there, looking out the window. It was cloudy outside and threatened to rain. Kevin slowly approached her and sat beside her. Almost casually she rested her hand on one of his casted legs. His leg grew warm and then his other leg warmed also. Her hand left his leg and his legs cooled. She looked down long enough to slip a glove over her hand before staring out the window again. Several questions ran through his head as he watched her. Her right hand moved once more to pick up a thermos.
"What's that?" he asked finally.
"Cayenne and Hawthorn tea."
"What's it for?"
"My heart."
"Have you had any attacks lately?"
"Last night around midnight."
That had only been an hour or so after they had parted the night before. "Are you okay?"
"For now I am."
"For now?"
"This will be the last time I see you on campus."
"What?! How come?"
"There are people who are looking for answers. Answers they believe I have."
"Do you know who they are?"
"No, only that I am supposed to leave today."
"Did they call you?"
"No."
"Then why are you leaving?"
"A dream," she said softly. "A very vivid dream."
Kevin reached over and pulled her into an awkward hug. She set the thermos between her legs and wrapped her arm around his shoulders. Eventually he let her go. "Lotus, what are you going to do about your classes?"
"They're finished. I worked it all out with the professors."
"How is that possible? There is still a quarter of the semester to go."
"They gave me the final exams, saying if I passed them then they would average out my current grade for the rest of the assignments."
"Then why did you mail them? You could have just slid them under their doors."
"It was requested by the professors that I mail them."
"I still don't understand."
"To be honest, Kevin, neither do I. I only know this is something I have to do." Lotus stood to leave.
As she passed, Kevin grabbed her arm and pulled her down for another hug and kissed her cheek. She returned the kiss then slipped from his arms. As he watched her walk down the stairs he couldn't help but feel that he may never see her again.
"Lotus!" he called.
She stopped on the first landing. "Set up a doctor's appointment. Kevin. It's time to move on." She blew him a kiss and disappeared from sight. 
He turned his wheelchair around and sped down the hall to the window that overlooked the parking lot. Lotus was helped into an unmarked car and taken away.

Shi Lei who was standing in front of the Shuangqing University, let go of his luggage and slightly raised his head as he opened both arms. Closing his eyes, he took a deep breath.

"God has given me the chance to be a good man!"

Shi Lei didn't know that this chance was not granted by God; instead it was granted by that mysterious cluster of purple light.

"Aya~!"

While Shi Lei was embracing the sky, enjoying his rebirth, he was suddenly hit by someone. The sound which came from his back was a female voice.

Shi Lei quickly turned around; noticing that a girl fell on the ground.

This girl has a black shoulder-length straight hair with a standard bob hairstyle. A pair of bright eyes in which traces of timidness could be found within. She was apparently shy. Her eyebrows wrinkled and showed a painful expression on her small delicate face. On her upper body was she wearing a white cotton shirt which brand was unknown. However, the material seemed to be not that bad from the way it looked. As for her slender long legs, she was wearing a pair of jeans.

Shi Lei looked at this girl in front of him. His eyes lit up.

Unexpectedly it is her!

Shuangqing University Department of Computer Science's flower, also at the same time, the prettiest one among the flowers – Ling Yumo!

Shi Lei exposed an embarrassed expression and said, "Are you alright?"

Ling Yumo immediately shook her head, "I'm sorry, I…..I was staring at the map just now, I didn't...didn't notice you." Ling Yumo's voice was so timid as if she was an injured little kitten. As for Shi Lei, he is obviously a ferocious wolf!

Shi Lei was surprised for a moment and recalled back his past live. According to the information of Ling Yumo, her sense of direction was not that good. To be more frank, she is a girl with poor sense of direction.

Shuangqing University covers a wide area. Thus, between each department, the distance between them is not that close at all.

Shi Lei happily squatted down, both hands holding the arms of Ling Yumo and helped her getting up. The soft sensation from the touch made Shi Lei's heart throbbing faster.

A trace of redness emerged on Ling Yumo's delicate cheek.

Shi Lei acted naturally, releasing his hands, "If I did not guess wrongly, then you must be a new student of the Computer Science department, right?"

"You, how did you know?" The small pinkish lips of Ling Yumo opened up, looking at Shi Lei with a shocked expression.

Shi Lei of course won't say that he was reborned and already knew her since his past life.

"Shuangqing University Computer Science department is at the deepest region of the campus. Almost all the freshman would be cheated by buying a map of Shuangqing University campus!" Shi Lei pointed at a place not far away, a middle aged man was busy selling maps of Shuangqing University.

Ling Yumo nodded her head, her pair of shining eyes were as if there was a faint star in between them.

"You are so smart!"

Shi Lei used his right index finger to push his spectacles and extended his right hand, "Hi, my name is Shi Lei! You can call me Stone, Brother Stone, or even Strange Stone."

Ling Yumo's pinkish lip revealed a beautiful curve.

"Senior Shi Lei, hi, I am Ling Yumo. You can call me….Xiao Mo…." Between her cheek, again two red clouds appeared.

Shi Lei laughed out loud. He did not reveal his secret of his being reborned.

"Xiao Mo, since you have called this man your senior, then this senior will take you then to register!"

Ling Yumo slightly nodded her head. With her head down, she replied with her soft voice, "Thanks senior."

Shi Lei took the initiative to carry the luggage of Ling Yumo. One luggage on each hand and while dragging the luggages he then voiced out, "Xiao Mo, come here! To go to Computer Science department, this way is much shorter compared to the one on the map!"

While Shi Lei was guiding Ling Yumo, she noted the shortcut down on the map. After spending about 20 minutes, they finally reached the counter at Computer Science department for registration.

Shuangqing University registration, you need to pass through several counters for different departments to  register. As for the Computer Science department, there were a total of four receptions. Besides the first reception being handled by a dinosaur-like senior sister, the other three counters were all handled by thirsty and hungry senior brothers!

The so-called welcoming junior event was of course to serve the purpose of getting closer to these freshmen.

These hungry yet thirsty seniors were all very keen on this matter!

Afterall, during the registration time, there will be the need to fill in the admission form which meant that a lot of personal information will be disclosed!

Among the four receptions, the dinosaur-like senior sisters counter had the longest queue. There were about twenty to thirty girls lining up there. As for the other three hungry senior brothers, there were only about two or three little kittens.

Shi Lei and Ling Yumo walked to the front of one of thirsty senior brothers. These hungry seniors were looking at the eyes of Ling Yumo, as if they were starving wolves staring at a little white goat.

"You two, don't try to compete with me! This high quality little girl, she herself took the initiative to come here!"

The other two hungry yet thirsty seniors, curled their lips, "Look at the one beside her, you sure that he is not her boyfriend?"

After reaching the reception counter, Shi Lei let go the two luggages and said, "Alright, stop admiring the beautiful girl. Quickly help this pretty girl settle her admission procedure."

These seniors glanced at Shi Lei and grumped, "Do you need to remind us?"

Shi Lei did not mind their words. He turned around and said, "Xiao Mo, come here and fill in the admission form."

"En, thanks senior."

Ling Yumo obediently sat on the chair prepared at the reception counter and carefully filled in the admission form.

Sitting opposite of Ling Yumo, these few seniors were staring fixedly at her.

Shi Lei coughed, "Brothers, let me remind you. Why do you all keep staring at my girlfriend, that is not a good manner."

These hungry and thirsty seniors were caught in a surprise for a moment, looking at Shi Lei in a unbelievable expression.

Ling Yumo's face blushed, as she protested in a very soft tone, "Senior, what nonsense are you talking!"

Shi Lei who was standing behind Ling Yumo, suddenly extended his hand and held on Ling Yumo's right hand and halted her action of filling in the form.

"Xiao Mo, this admission form, you don't have to fill it in that carefully."

Ling Yumo was puzzled, "Senior, why so?"

These seniors were staring at Shi Lei unwillingly; their hearts were filled with anger.

"Damn, this beast has taken the first step!"

"Hehe, these admission forms, there are only two informations which you need to fill, your name and admission number. As for the ID number, mobile phone number, QQ account, hobby etc, those are obviously them trying to dig for more information of new students!"

The two seniors besides them laughed, "Yo, Wu Ming, you have met an old bird!" Wu Ming is none other than the senior sitting in front of Ling Yumo.

Wu Ming bitterly smiled at Shi Lei, "Hey, brother. Which course are you in?"

Shi Lei smiled, "The Department of Computer Science, the batch of 2004!"

"So it is senior!" Wu Ming is a second year student from the '05 batch. He stared at Shi Lei with malicious intent, "Senior, the girls from our batch have all been taken by you guys. As for the '06 batch, they should be left for us!"

Shi Lei shrugged his shoulder and patted Wu Ming's arm.

"Brother, then you have to work harder!"

Ling Yumo glanced at Shi Lei, stood up and with her soft tone and said, "Senior, where are we supposed to go now?"

Shi Lei pondered for a moment before he laughed it off.

"Xiao Mo, do you live in the campus or..?"

Ling Yumo was still not aware of the malicious word of Shi Lei and asked in curiosity, "What's the difference?"

"Well, if you live in the campus, we will then have to go to the dormitory. If you want to rent a room outside of the the campus…."

Ling Yumo protested coquettishly, "This hateful senior, I live in dormitory!"

"OK, come here then!"

Shi Lei once again carried along the two luggages and headed in the direction of the dormitory. When they were halfway there, Shi Lei stopped and voiced out, "Xiao Mo, wait a moment. This senior wants to reply to a message!"

The mobile phone of the year 2006, the mainstream was still Nokia. And the one Shi Lei is using was indeed a model of Nokia. While holding his phone, he quickly opened a notepad and then entered a string of codes. Without even one minute passing, Shi Lei placed his phone back in his pocket and smiled, "Have I made you wait for long?"

"It's alright, senior." Ling Yumo smiled warmly and took the initiative, "Senior, which dormitory are you living in?"

Shi Lei pretended, showing a depressed expression, "I still do not know!"

Ling Yumo was puzzled, "Senior, don't tell me that after the holidays you have even forgotten your own hostel?"

"Of course not!" Shi Lei explained, "In fact, during the holiday, I have received an e-mail notification from my mentor which informed me that the hostel has changed and I have to ask for the latest one when the school reopens!"

"So it is like that!" Ling Yumo replied while not exactly understanding it.

They continued walking for about seven to eight minutes and then reached the dormitory area. The number one room of the first floor is the management office of the dormitory. All new students had to give their admission number there to acquire their hostel address.

At the management office of the dormitories, a middle aged woman who had undergone her menopause was sitting in front of a computer. Shi Lei and Ling Yumo walked into the room.

The menopausal woman noticed both of them entering and said, "Give me your admission notice."

The moment when Ling Yumo was about to take out the notice and pass it to the menopausal woman, Shi Lei immediately stepped forward and revealed a bright smile.

"Sister Zhao, hello!"

The administrator of the dormitory office, named Zhao Qinghong was exactly this menopausal woman in front of Shi Lei.

Zhao Qinghong glanced at Shi Lei. Since Shi Lei had called her Sister Zhao and not Aunty Zhao or even Grandma Zhao, this really made her have a very good impression on Shi Lei.

"Is there any problems? Student, don't tell me you have misplaced your admission notice elsewhere?"

Shi Lei repeatedly shook his head and smiled, "Sister Zhao, it is actually like that. During the holiday, the quartermaster had informed me of my room being changed. However, I could not recall the number of my new room which the quartermaster told me."

Zhao Qinghong frowned, "You are old students? This is not an easy matter to handle. What is your student ID number?"

Shi Lei scratched his head, with an embarrassed smile as he replied, "Sister Zhao, my student card, I have lost it during the holiday!"

Although Zhao Qinghong had a good first impression of Shi Lei, she still could not help to voice out her complain, "Student, this is really difficult to handle."

"Sister Zhao, there should still be some information about my dormitory number left in one of the files on my phone." Shi Lei then continued, "Sister Zhao, can you let me use your computer for a while? Let me connect my phone to the computer to take out the file."

Zhao Qinghong considered for a moment and asked, "Student, will there be any viruses within your phone? Today is afterall a registration day. Many students need to check their hostel number. If there is any virus on it then this will be troublesome!"

Shi Lei deliberately frowned, "Sister Zhao, I….I also don't know….or else…..lets not look for it then!"

Zhao Qinghong's heart softened by his words, "Well, forget about it….even if there is virus, it still does not matter."

"Thank you Sister Zhao!" Shi Lei continued bootlicking Zhao Qinghong, "No wonder everyone says Sister Zhao is kind hearted!"

Zhao Qinghong smiled and said, " As long as I can help, I will definitely do so."

Shi Lei took out a phone data cable and inserted the head on the USB port.

"Ding dong~"

The speakers emitted the sound of the USB connection and then…

The computer screen directly went to a blue screen!

Crash!

I closed my dorm room door as lightly as possible while I made sure that Luke was still sleeping.


Luke's constant breathing patterns observed from one of my mana spells made me relieved as it meant that he was sleeping deeply.


I tried to calm myself down as I walked towards the high school section of the school campus. All four levels of the school were separated by a faint mana barrier that could determine who could pass through for security reasons.


I carefully manipulated the mana barrier with my powerful, but precisely controlled enchantments to let me inside.


I slipped into the other side of the barrier as if I was entering a new world through a transparent bubble.


I turned the brightness in my marble to minimally low as I had the map projected to help me find the high school classroom indicated in the note.


I never entered the high school section of the campus before as the only things I knew about it was from rumors I heard from the hallways.


The high school section of the school was truly different than all the other levels. Everything was futuristic and didn't contain any ancient artifacts like the ones in the other sections.


There was a prominent number of robots working around the school as they served the needs of the students. Multiple teleportation gates were busily being used as high school students went on difficult frequent missions to get graded on. Mana was being freely used as students accurately made illuminations to practice for their exams.


Maybe this would be a fitting picture for what the first district was renowned for.


I pulled on the hood of my long robe as I discreetly walked in the long glass hallways.


"Rika?" Ben took a closer glance at my face with great curiosity when we crossed paths on my route to the classroom.


Ugh! This was one of the people that I was hoping that I wouldn't meet. Out of all the places in the wide high school section, why did he have to be here?


"I think you have the wrong person," I politely denied as I pulled my hood down as much as I could to hide my face.


My bright red hair stumbled out my hood as Ben used wind magic to unexpectedly pull my hood off.


"Couldn't you have pretended not to know me?" I asked with great annoyance while I pulled my hood back up.


It wasn't like I was close with Ben. I just stayed in his summer villa a little bit and went to different districts together. Other than that, we didn't stay in contact as we were both busy with school.


It was rare to meet someone in another level in school as the barrier tightly separated any interactions between the very young to mature students.


"Why are you in the high school section?" Ben unintentionally gathered a crowd of curious people who eavesdropped into our conversation with their good hearing.


Knowing that this conversation would get me into more trouble, I started to ignore Ben as I focused my attention on the map.


However, I didn't expect that Ben would curiously look over my shoulder as I compared the map and where I was right now.


I needed to somehow get Ben off my back before I arrived at my destination.


[Small Tornado] I visualized a small tornado that would serve as a shield to prevent Ben from following me as I escaped his line of vision.


A great wisp of wind escalated into a large hurricane. The wind swept the trees to be bare from the leaves forming a great wall that towered metres into the sky with the circular air flow.


The students instantly formed barriers around themselves to cover from the powerful twirling storm that resembled a drill piecing a hole wherever it went.


The gust of a normally pleasant spring breeze became more powerful as it gobbled up more oxygen and a faint hint of mana present in the air. Was I originally thinking of this when I composed it up from thin air?


I sighed as all I wished for was a small tornado. I guessed this was the problem with possessing almost an infinite amount of mana.


I admitted that I poured too much mana from a bit of panic as I ignored the small cracks being formed in the newly built structure.


'The strong foundations that made up the building wouldn't likely crumble from a small spell,' my thoughts were wavering when loud rumbles from flashing lightening came from the sky to contribute to the hurricane.


I didn't dare to look back to take a glance at Ben as I ran away from the scene while the hurricane increasingly became larger as it fed off more energy from its surroundings.


Everyone knew that high school students were highly proficient with mana. Someone would fix this mess in no time, compared the middle school students who majority practiced with perfecting their spells with mana.


I jogged until I looked up to find the sign [2-3] before I would run into anyone else.


There was a thick mana barrier as I expected to keep others way near the doorway. I quickly waved through all its familiar defensive measures that were the same as the one in elementary school.


"Welcome Rika," a soft voice greeted me inside.

I was captured and put onto a stake to be lit on fire as part of the ongoing witch hunt conducted throughout the land. I had to do something. But, this life really sucked. 

This all started when I was accidentally killed by God. 

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to kill you. It was just that I was overworked lately by my superior and I just wanted some time to relax and vent my stress out," he confessed.

"So, while I was snacking, I accidently dropped one potato chip into the human realm where the child tripped over the potato chip onto a den of steep stairs." God guilty admitted.

So I reincarnated into the most adorable girl with the largest orange-speckled eyes that contrasted her pale white skin void of any imperfections.

'How could someone look this pretty?' I thought as I admired my new appearance.

I was nowhere close to this pretty in my previous life. Did God put me into this new vessel as an apology?

But some things were too good to be true.

"The nice way is where you willingly come with us back to the first district and the hard way is where we forcibly take you back, which would be hard for all of us," Lucius gave me a warning.
Why was my life so depressing? He practically meant I didn’t have a choice!

Few months later, I was at a party that I planned to escape from my fiancé’s family.
"I still get to continue with my naps on the weekends?" I tried to confirm with them.
No one answered as I almost cried from giving up my rare nap times from the mess I got involved with. This life was too bothersome!

Lightly assessing the transmitted reminiscents, Ai gave a silent startled screech, trepidation seeping to the areas of his soul.

The former Byun Jae-Won had continuously adhered to abuse-physical and mental abuse when he was still a young blood.

It had to be known that Ai was never one to have a strong stomach when it came to anything gore-much less when it came to children. He couldn't handle any torment children received, especially if it resulted in even a bit of blood loss—it was due to that accident that made him this way; a car accident involving his one-sided love, and both of his love's children.

From the countless world planes Ai had been in, he had his fair share of being mistreated, either from friends, lovers, parents, siblings, or even the whole family—it just hurts to know how badly people are still being treated—the goddamn inequality was killing him.

Ai rapidly stood from the tattered, shabby, and filthy bed, the wooden frame tootled a shrill creak, as Ai garnered a few splinters from barely even touching the frames.

Ai stood in place, careful not to touch and bump into anything as he surveyed the room. The room was dingy and squalid, wooden stools on the verge of surrendering. Windowsills with busted exteriors and shattered glass. The room was kept bare, daring to lack even a curtain. The wooden floor would rasp with every step Ai would take.

Ai settled with new determination in mind-to settle in a new home, one where the former Byun Jae-Won would feel at ease, may it be or not be a part of his missions given by the system.

Speaking of missions—

"The assignments, please, system," Ai spoke aloud, unconcerned if anyone were to circumstantially barge in the room as no one would give a second thought about Jae-Won—let alone even remember his existence.

Jae-Won blinked as he went over to a battered and run-down drawer. Looking for a tattered brown leather notebook in mind, Jae-Won rummaged through one of the drawer's shifty boxes. Once Jae-Won found the journal, he skimmed through it, exploiting his "read once, remember thrice" perk attained from completing a world plane, which provides a host with a special retentiveness.

After leafing through the journal, Jae-Won looked at an analog clock, situated just on top of the drawer, which had the shorthand pointing towards a six. Glancing over a mirror position beside the clock, Jae-Won examined his appearance.

Brown phoenix eyes greeted each other as fringes of black and brown sway over his sight. Thin straight nose coupled with dilute arched eyebrows. Though, what stood out to Jae-Won was the scars that littered on his face, which reminded him of the gruesome childhood the previous Jae-Won went through.

Jae-Won sighed, placed down the journal that was in his hands, and prepared for a quick rinse in the shower.

Stepping out of the bedroom with his satchel draped over his shoulder, Jae-Won walked a few steps before locking eyes with a tall-statured lad. His eyes seemed to give out a feeling of gelidity, sending bone-penetrating chills to Jae-Won.

The young lad opened his mouth, seeming to want to start a conversation, but Jae-Won ran with his head ducked to his shoulders. Jae-Won quickly glanced at the juvenile while he was running past him, mesmerized by the feelings of hateful sentiments left by the previous inhabitant.

Jae-Won did not look back as he ran, content at ignoring the existence of that fellow and placed his worries on how to get to his university.

Currently, though Jae-Won is still a 17-year-old, he was already studying at Country S National University of Arts. He was at the top of his department, admittedly spending all his time in his studies.

Luckily, his commencement for a D.M.A. (Doctor of Musical Arts) was 3 days later, so Ai was left with nothing more but facile tasks.

Since the Byun family wouldn't pay for his college tuition, Jae-Won had to study relentlessly to gain a scholarship.

It really shows how Jae-Won worked hard for his achievements at such a young age of 25, considering that to be able to receive a D.M.A. would need three to four years of full-time study, in addition to the master's and bachelor's degree, to complete. Not to mention, the D.M.A. combines advanced studies in an applied area of specialization, which Jae-Won had chosen to be music composition, with graduate-level academic study subjects such as music history, music theory, or music pedagogy, with Jae-Won deciding on music history as his graduate-level academic study subject.

Something to note is that Jae-Won still has to take general education classes which seize a lot of his time, and explains why Jae-Won still lives with the Byun family because he can't juggle University with a job or an internship.

Jae-Won delved into his satchel, withdrew the same brown leather notebook from before, and opened the notebook.

Upon opening the notebook, a map of S country appeared, with a single blue dot representing himself. Jae-Won zoomed-in, seeing himself in the notebook doing the exact same as himself.

Having found a forest nearby, Jae-Won left his classroom with his satchel on his shoulder.

The hallways were packed with students, most scurrying out the exit to either return back home or return to their residence on the campus.

Jae-Won couldn't be a resident, even if he wanted to be. It doesn't include in his scholarship a free residence on campus, and he can't afford it either.

Though, it goes along well with Jae-Won's plans as residents living inside the campus are not permitted to freely leave the campus area unless allowed by their guardians.

Jae-Won walked out the gates of the University, notebook on hand, and made his way to the forest.

The nearest forest Jae-Won could find was an hour and a half walk away, he couldn't find any other alternative. It was then he realized he desperately needed to make money fast.

An hour into walking, Jae-Won collided with someone. Jae-Won lost his balance, and the notebook flew from his hand. The other took hold of the notebook whilst Jae-Won stabilized himself. Jae-Won repeatedly apologized, and took the notebook away from the person, running towards the forest, decreasing the time spent.

Unbeknownst to Jae-Won, someone stared at his running figure until he was not able to see him(JW) anymore, dazedly staring where he last saw Jae-Won, before turning around the corner and getting into the driver's seat of a black Maserati GranTurismo S.

As soon as she started walking towards her department she noticed a sleek black Bentley came gliding into he parking lot. The door opened and a mesmerizing beauty exited the car. She had champagne blonde hair. Her black velvet dress hugged her thin waist creating a beautiful contrast with her golden waves. acid washed denim jacket and her velvet choker completed her look. "Wow her legs are so long" Amber thought. She was a firm believer of 'appreciate a beauty when you see it'. 
Soon the crowd started to gather around her like bees attracted to a wild flower. Being an introverted kind of a person, Amber decided to lay low and leave the place. She saw her timetable and moved towards her department in search of her class. The campus was beautiful. The area was surrounded by lush green trees and benches underneath were full of students of different ethnicity. Laughing, talking, even sleeping, everywhere she looked, she saw life. Amber was happy. 
lost in her thoughts, she did not realize she had walked quite far. She quickly opened her map but to her utter disbelief she couldn't guess where she was. If Rebecca was with her at this moment, she wouldn't have been surprised. Amber was the worst when it came to directions; it was no surprise that she was lost. But luck was with her today. As she wandered a little further to find her way, she saw a group of freshmen with a student guidance body giving them a tour around the campus. She quickly ran to her and asked for help. " Don't worry just join us" the student body head smiled, "my name is Trisha, I'm an architecture senior". Amber was grateful to have found her and was more than relieved to know that they have the same major. "Then I'll surely seek your guidance in the future" Amber shook her hand.     
Moving forward, the group reached the center of the campus where there was an old fountain. It was famous as a "wishing fountain". According to the stories narrated by the senior, couples made in front of this fountain were destined to happy together forever but Amber thought it was absurd. "If you think that's absurd, just pray for your grades. Its good to believe in something" Trisha winked. But Amber wanted to wish for something else. Grades? that can be achieved by hard work but there are somethings that solely depends on luck. So she decided in her heart to come back here and make her wish later. 
Rest of her day went smoothly. All the new teachers were friendly and her class fellows were nice. She made 2 new friends: Zany and Zack, twin brother-sister pair and it was fun.

To keep the families close, grandfather Lu and grandmother Ann convince their grandchildren to get married. Mark is a typical playboy; rude, arrogant, and thinks of himself above all. Amber is the most average girl he could ever meet. No looks and no life. His type is Rose. the beauty that had captures his heart since the first day at university. The fuck this dude is really a dick head", She thought out loud."Are you not telling me your name....", he gave her that waiting look."I am not interested in knowing you..", she looked at him disgustedly."Oouuch that hurts", he said walking faster blocking her way."Just get the hell out of my sight", She yelled angrily."Okay, pretty doll will look for you", he left her sight.


"Sorry for that, he's the so-called king of the campus", a young lady who was also a student at the campus confronted her." My bad his so irritating the hell. Am Carey", she smiled at the friendly lady in front of her."Am Cindy, you must be a fresher around here", Cindy smirked at her."Yeah, you right. It's my first day on Campus", Carey said rolling her hair.


"I love you hair..which style is that....", Cindy looked at a guy who was approaching them." It's cornrows...", Carey looked nervous cause the girl seemed to be so friendly for a stranger.


"Hey...!!!", the guy approached them hugging Cindy tightly." Mmmm..they must be a thing I guess", Carey thought to herself. "Sorry...she is Carey", after the passionate hug. Cindy introduced Carey to the guy. His hair was bleached white, nose pierced, and had an armor tattoo on his left arm."He is my boyfriend...Arthur", Cindy looked at  Carey when introducing them.


"Pleasure meeting you", Arthur gestured his hand at her." Pleasure too", she said quickly removing his hands from his palm."Where you heading too....have you found a room", Cindy asked Carey while she was holding Arthur's hand."I am just looking for a room", Carey replied too quickly trying to be comfortable around them. "You can join me in my room. Am a second-year student btwn.... ", Cindy smiled at her giving her that look please don't say no." Really...been stressed trying to find one for the past two hours", Carey sighed in relief."You game...guess right...", Cindy clapped her hands excitedly.


"Can you help us go for the luggage", Cindy asked her boyfriend playing with his hair." Do I have a choice", he surrendered taking her hand."Thanks", Carey thanked them relieved.


"Your staff are quite heavy what do you have there...", Arthur asked Carey while Cindy opened their new to be room." Nothing much just clothes", Carey laughed cause he over-exaggerated it.

" Wooow it's pretty", Carey was amused. The room had two beds, one study table, and two chairs.
"Thanks for the help", Carey thanked Arthur as he left the room." Let me see him off see you in a few", Cindy tapped her shoulder as she left the room.


"As much as she is gothic. The room is so bright and there no dark colors", Carey spoke to her self. She immediately took her clothes and arranged them neatly in the wardrobe. She made her bed and started cleaning the room cause it was somehow dirty.


" I have found a room", she spoke to her big sister who kept calling checking on her."I am just worried about you. I am happy you have settled down. And be careful, I hope you have chosen a good roomie not a badass bitch", her sister cushioned her."Yes, sis no need to worry. Am quite well", Carey replied rolling her eyes."Talk later kinda busy arranging my staff", Carey told her sister who immediately hanged up.

"Hope didn't stay out long", Cindy said entering the room." Wow!!! you cleaned the room", she was amazed."Yeah", Carey smiled at her."I like you already", Cindy sat at her bed giving Carey the campus map."I hope this will help you around campus. Got it for you. Don want you to be loitering around like a lost sheep ", Cindy laughed making Carey be amazed.

" Thank you appreciate it", Carey appreciated her."I hope she is good all the time. For a start she has given me a warm welcome", Carey thought gazing at the wall."What you thinking of..?"Cindy asked her."Just campus cause not used to it at all", Carey signed."No need to panic. The campus is quite fun and free. It's not like high school. Just try to be a more confident and badass chick. I assure you, your life here will be smooth", Cindy gave her advice."Thanks for the advice. Will be a badass girl all the way", Carey said twirling her hair giggling.
