This is our story. The chapters will be written with your comments. 
The story is about Anna a young girl finally learning to be a witch. on her day to her first school day she sees an animal and with that meeting it changes everything.

1991 March
 
Quidditch season was in full swing, and Alana found herself dealing with overly enthusiastic Slytherins for the first time in her life. 
 
"...And then he feinted left and caught the snitch!"
"Did you see the look on her face? She…"
"...Alana, are you listening?"
 
The girl's head snapped up from where she had been drifting off and beamed at Lucian Bole and his official wing-man, Peregrine Derrick. Dear Merlin, they were still talking.
"She caught the snitch," She replied half-heartedly. "Weren't you celebrating all last week because of it?" Her hand waved towards Lucian dismissively. Why she endured this torture, she had no idea. 
 
"Obviously, but the look on Kate's face is one I want to be framed." Peregrine cut in.
 
"Ask Warren," She suggested. "Even if he's in Gryffindor, he would probably sell the picture for the right amount." She thought of the lethargic boy who had been roped into taking pictures of every match and putting them on the Gryffindor dorm board. He'd been trying to escape the job for the past year and would probably get a kick out of selling the pictures. Peregrine perked up at the suggestion and nudged Lucian with a smile. Both boys giggled like a pair of gossiping women before batting their eyelashes at Alana.
 
"I think we'll head over now." 
"We'll need to catch him before someone else has the same idea" Both boys bid their farewells before dashing out of the Great Hall. 
 
The young witch they had left behind stretched her limbs which had grown stiff from disuse over the course of the conversation. It was with no small relief that she exited the building and began the trek to exit the castle walls. Spring had just arrived at the castle, and the gardens were slowly regaining the life they had lost. The young girl relaxed her muscles as she padded through the fringes of the forest. Here and there, she could spy stone formations that were no doubt built for rituals when they were still practised. Lichen lined the ancient structures, and she allowed her fingertips to trace whichever ones she happened to pass. It was easy to forget how ancient Hogwarts was with the lack of arcane magics taught. 
 
She was so utterly enraptured in the ruins that she almost missed the brown, leather bag leaning against one of the pillars. She picked up the pack and examined it curiously. Sure enough, there was a name carved into the underside of the leather. Lobosca. She ran a finger over the name and considered it carefully. She had no idea who it was and was rather reluctant to move the pack in case its owner would return for it. She tapped her chin thoughtfully until she heard the sound of rustling leaves. A white-haired witch stumbled out of the forest and into the clearing she stood in. Blue eyes flickered to her figure and then to the pack in her arms. Alana quirked an eyebrow before holding the bag out for the girl.
 
"Thanks," The witch fumbled. She reached for the bag with one hand while the other nervously clutched the moon pendant hanging around her neck. "I didn't think anyone else came around here. I'm Chiara by the way." The girl offered an innocent smile that softened her already gentle features further. Alana offered her own smile and shook the girl's offered hand. Chiara held the bag to her chest and dipped her head in thanks a second time. 
 
"Alana. It's nice to meet you, Chiara." 
"You as well. Um… I have to go, but I guess I'll see you around then. Bye." The girl slung her bag over her shoulder awkwardly as she rushed towards the castle. Alana followed the girl with her gaze before returning to her walk. It was some days later that she learnt the girl was a seventh year Hufflepuff. 
 
1991 April
 
Alana twisted her growing hair into a bun before heading down to the common room. Leoen sat in his usual spot with a chessboard set before him. After a heated game, both parted to follow their usual morning routine. Alana took to the corridors with the intention of slipping a charms book out of the library before the day began. The stone hallways were as cold as they were silent with the faint hum of magic emanating from them. She hummed softly under her breath as she took to the rotating stairs. A few of the portraits greeted her as she made her journey. Magical portraits were curious things. They were mental imprints of magicals taken by the painter. She had done some research on magical painters as part of a charms assignment, and the process was absolutely fascinating. The level of control and skill required to animate the most simple of paintings was mind-blowing, yet Hogwarts hung hundreds on its walls. Most were second-rate donations by old families, but a few were of high enough quality to be considered a flaunting of wealth to donate. The Renaissance had seen hundreds of them donated in what had become known as the Paint Wars. 
 
"What in Merlin's name happened to you!" The shout and sound of falling books shattered Alana's peaceful reverie, and she glanced, annoyed in the direction it had come from. 
"I tripped." 
"On air?!"
 
The young witch found the perpetrators in the library. A fair, pink-haired witch sat on the ground rubbing circles on her arm. Her facial expression was one of annoyance and pain as she glared at the witch across from her. Alana gave the two seventh years a quick assessment as she entered the room. Chiara Lobosca turned her head away from her clumsy friend and spied Alana's smaller form. 
 
"Oh! Good morning, Alana." She greeted the younger witch. The pale pinkette glanced at the other occupant of the room questioningly while Alana gave Chiara small, polite wave.
 
"Who's that?" The other seventh year directed suspicious eyes to the honey-eyed witch.
 
"She's a third-year that I know. Her name's Alana," Chiara introduced the girl proudly. "Alana, this is Nymphadora Tonks." 
 
"Call me Nymphadora, and I'll kick you off the astronomy tower. It's Tonks." Alana's mouth twitched at the threat as a laugh bubbled in her throat. 
 
"I'll keep that in mind, Tonks. It's nice to see you again, Chiara." Alana gave a quick smile and readied an excuse to leave the two. She was still gathering her thoughts when she noticed a particular book lying on the floor. She knelt to pick up the title.
 
"Where one of you using this?" She asked. It was the exact book she was looking for. 
 
"I was returning it actually," Tonks wrinkled her nose. "It's a really boring read. Just so you know. Jackson Revel's edition is way more interesting." 
 
Alana graced the girl with a genuine smile having read the book she spoke of already. It focused more on practical wand work than theory which was why she had wanted another book to reference. There were a few more books scattered across the floor, and she gingerly picked up a few. Catching on, Chiara helped grab the rest while Tonks attempted to right herself. 
 
"Did you really trip on air?" Alana had to ask as she held the pile to the girl. Tonks gave her a traumatised stare. 
 
"I swear, there's a diety up there laughing his arse off every time I trip. The air is conspiring against me," She whispered with a shiver. Alana didn't bother hiding her amusement.
 
"I suppose it's a good thing your friend is so interested in healing," She commented. She nodded towards the stack of healing books perched precariously on a table behind Chiara and said witch blushed heavily. 
 
"I want to become a healer," She explained. Her fingers were wrapped around her moonstone pendant out of habit. 
 
"Do you know any good starter books on healing? I'm a bit prone to injury myself," Alana asked innocently. Prone was hardly the right word when injury was part of her job description. Chiara lit up with delight, and she couldn't help but think the witch had the appearance of a china doll when she wasn't nervous. She knew several rogues who would die to have such a cute nurse working on them. She cackled at the mental image. 

With a gift bringing hope, comfort and relief, it was only fitting that Gaia bestow a curse of equal measure. A child to reap what it could not. A child born of death's greed and life's carelessness. Fate was rewritten then with the dignified scrawl of an unknown deity. Screaming and kicking at the divine injustice of it all, a new life was born into the world. Out of the frenzied passions of a drunkard and a drug addict from the shadowed back streets of London came Alana Hales. Out of the tattered folds of deaths cloak came the worn soul of one Alexis Crevan. 

I don't own Harry Potter, The Gamer, the Labyrinth, or any of their characters. If I did, I would be rich.

Well, this is one of those 'boring days' here at the Holy Palatial Gardens…

For a time now, I've been keeping myself busy, all the while the others were doing their own businesses as well. They say that the 'Holy Congress' is coming, and so, there were a lot of preparations were being done to accommodate the visiting human rulers.

As for me, I have nothing else to do, given that Lily keeps on shooing me away whenever I try to offer my help, even to the other servants.

Maddie was once again right beside me, loitering around in the library. I don't know, but ever since we got engaged, she would always make time to come and see me. Not that I dislike it; however, I'm anxious that I might be becoming a nuisance for her daily responsibilities.

We're not married yet, and I'm starting to see myself as a distraction to her.

"…"

And why am I thinking of marriage? I mean, it's not that I'm not attracted to Her Holiness and all, but she's technically a child. She looks like my students from before—maybe in Earth's reckoning she'd be of the same age. That girl should find someone more deserving of her love, other than this broke, old guy from another world.

"OW!"

A book from the shelf suddenly flew out and hit my head, fair and square. I quickly turned to the Saint, who was reading a book several chairs away from me.

"…" Oh boy, she's glaring at me. Must be that she read my thoughts…

I went back to my own book. In the corner of my eyes, I saw her stand, close the book gently and float towards me.

She rarely uses her legs…and it would be bad for her health…

"Fuu…"

"!!!" I felt her softly blew unto my ears, which made me jolt.

"Ah right. You're ticklish on your ears." she took out a quill with ink and started writing on her hand. "I've got to remember that part; it's one of your weaknesses!"

"Err…Your Holi—"

"HRMPH?!" her face contorted horribly, visibly upset. Haha! She's really cute to behold!

"I-I mean, M-Maddie…" I quickly pretended to correct my mistake, and switched back to calling her by her preferred nickname.

"Yes?" Maddie also reverted back to her sweet, loving self.

Hmm…I wonder, is this the infamous 'mood-swings' of girls?

"Uh…well, don't you think we're going way too fast?"

"Hmm? What do you mean, Kuro?"

"Well, our relationship. You see, you're still way younger than me. And honestly, we just met each other one season ago." I explained to her, "Aren't you creeped out with that setting?"

"Nope." Maddie chuckled, "Why would I be scared of the man who repeatedly saved and risked his life for me and my loved ones?"

Oh…so she thinks of me in that way, huh?

But well, honestly, I saved Maddie just because I find her situation contrary to my beliefs and ideals. Suicide is wrong. Forced marriages suck. And she's my friend, so it's natural that I'm concerned about her. Even back on Earth, I treat my students in the same manner as I treat her now.

"Well, isn't that love?" Maddie, who was reading my mind, asked. Well, I'm used to that attitude of hers anyway, so I'm just letting her be. Heh, I would be very much bewildered if an hour passed without her reading my thoughts…

"Hmm…it is. But it's a friendship-type of love, not really a romantic one."

"Oh, is that so?"

"!!!"

Another book flew from the shelf and nearly missed my head as it traveled with great speed. It ended up hitting the wall of the library with such force that it was lodged in it.

"Kuro, are you telling me that I'm friendzoned?" the gentle, seemingly happy smile on Maddie's face doesn't match her threatening aura.

"N-no!"

"Then, is it because that I'm not that attractive to you?"

"HA?! NO!" I answered that question quicker and with greater conviction than the previous one. Heck, contrary to that, I do find Maddie beautiful. Her long, silver hair gives her an appearance that seems to be on par with the gods. And hey, those deep, silvery-blue eyes are really charming to look at. Not only that, her chest and hips…well, I don't know what to say. I just find her form heavenly to my eyes. Add Maddie's lovely fair complexion and those supple red lips…

Heck, I don't understand why someone like her chose a trash like me…

"ENOUGH!"

"!!!"

A third book once again found its mark on the opposite side of the wall, right behind me.

What did I do wrong this time?

I noticed Maddie's face terribly blushing. Oh right, she must've kept on reading my mind and saw all those physical assets of hers that I find attractive.

Heh, wait 'till she sees the charming aspects of her personality—

"AWAWAWAWAWA!!! I SAID ENOUGH!" Maddie was already in panic-embarrassed mode. I could picture a steam rising from her head as her face got even redder. However, that's not my concern. In her attempt to distract me, she inadvertently caused the entire contents of the bookshelf behind her to fly around.

"Ah! Maddie, calm down!" Half-amused, half-panicking as well, I tried to appease this cute girl beside me. Good thing, she managed to calm herself before the library got chaotic beyond control.

"Pervert!" Maddie playfully stuck her tongue out to me.

Oh well, that's what you get for violating my mind's privacy.

Maddie could only pout to express her annoyance at what I just did. I patted her head to ease her heart, and to make amends as well.

"You know, you may hold me in your arms…" she suggested, still pouting.

"Hmm…as much I wanted to, I can't do that just yet." I gently replied.

"Eh?! A girl's already inviting you, and you're refusing her?"

"Well, I have to." I answered, before explaining, "I respect you and your family, see? It's not that I don't find you unattractive; I'm doing this because we're all alone in this library, and you're a pretty girl, so…"

"So…?"

"Haha! I'm a healthy human male, even if I'm way too older than you. You get the idea? Alone and in love…"

Maddie never uttered a word. She just floated with her back turned towards me. However, I can see Maddie's ears as red as a beet.

I hope she understood what I meant…it's for her best anyway.

"O-of course!" I heard her say. "And that's the very reason I fell for you in the first place, Kuro."

Oh god, now it's my turn to blush. Not wishing to wallow in this sickeningly sweet air around us, I took the opportunity to tell her something I wanted to say before. "You know, would it be fine to you if we take our time to get to know each other well?"

"Isn't that what we're doing now?"

"Of course."

"Don't worry, Kuro!" Maddie winked at me, "It's not like I'm in a hurry to marry; I still want to do many things before settling down. I just want to make sure that you'll be mine."

"Oh…okay…" Honestly, I'm impressed by her straightforward manner of expressing her feelings. If it was me, I'd find myself dilly-dallying and mincing my words before I manage to speak what I meant to say.

Is that from her mother as well, I wonder?

In any case, I better not let Maddie's expectations down.

Honestly, that conversation I had with God remained at the back of mind ever since that time. Questions like, "what does He mean by 'Chersea's greatest crisis'?" and, "Will there be another human-demon war?", permeate my thoughts whenever I'm alone.

Devras' face then appeared in my thoughts. That guy's the first person (male) in this world I truly had an enjoyable talk. It would be a shame if we ended up fighting against each other.

To have an idea of what God might be talking about, I went browsing through the library's volumes of history books. Maddie was at the table where we were before, floating freely as she slept.

I don't know. Though she may be Chersea's Saint and the ultimate person concerned with this land's daily affairs, I feel like I shouldn't bother Maddie with this problem just yet. I mean, she had been through a lot of heavy stuff recently, and I want her mind to take a break off for the meantime.

That's why I'm doing this while she's asleep.

Ah anyway, in other related matters, good thing is that for some reason, I can somewhat understand the letters of this world even when I just got summoned. Chersea's writing is quite complex, and there were a few punctuations present in their grammar system. For example, narrative statements are usually written from bottom to top, and there are no quotation marks used to indicate dialogue. You'd only know that it is a character-spoken statement when the sentence is written top to bottom.

Whether this is an effect of my summoning, or magic in itself, I don't know. What I do get is that this phenomenon is really convenient for me. Saves a lot of time that would be spent on learning Chersea's writing and language.

So anyway, after looking out for the right book, I finally found the thing I'm searching for…

'Chronicles of the Demon War'

Since this thick book is the last one among a series of equally-impressive volumes with similar titles, I assumed that the last one is the most recent record of the history of human-demon wars. It is heavy, so I carefully pulled it off from its spot—a relatively high shelf, and carried it all the way back to my table.

Hmm…the Chronicles of the Demon War, volume XI. This is the account of the most recent human-demon war, which started when the demon king, Melqart Buvor, succeeded the infernal throne…

The eleventh volume of the book about the human-demon wars is a detailed history of everything related to that topic. It chronicled its background, which it claimed to have started the moment the previous conflict ended, and up to the legacy it gave to all races that were involved.

Well, I'm a fast-reader, but I still haven't been able to finish the entire book. I guess it would require several sittings—so I plan to read that again sometime later.

For now, I just need to know about the summary of that conflict. Maybe I'd get some clues on that crisis God was telling me…

Alright, so if you're wondering, here's a brief summary of what I managed to understand.

The most recent demon war began with the succession of the demon king, Melqart Buvor to the infernal throne of the demon race. Upon uniting the entire demon lordships, he embarked on an ambitious plan to conquer the human realm—a first step in his revanchist desire after their defeat in the previous conflict with humanity.

Aided with a new, powerful form of magic, King Melqart launched an invasion that destroyed the kingdoms of Venn and Thelmose, as well as many other duchies and principalities that was in its path. Many humans suffered and died; either from the murderous demons, or the famine and plagues that followed their destruction.

The northern countries were the most affected. They tried to ask for the help of the Empire of Chersea—the strongest human state at that time, but their pleas fell on deaf ears. The Imperials also sought to strengthen their own defenses, should the armies of the demons arrive in their borders, and in the process, left the northern Cherseans to their ruin.

It was at this time that in the part of the Empire nearest the armies of the demon king, the duchy of Nerfes, called for the aid of the heavens. They collaborated with the Saint, who refused to evacuate and decided to stand with her loyal paladins. Under the auspices of the great god, Gaius and his consort, Arame, they summoned powerful individuals to help humanity survive the bitter struggle against the demons. These men and women are now called 'Heroes'.

The war lasted for several seasons, even with the help of the heroes. It was the most destructive, and bitterest conflict ever to face mankind. Millions died, kingdoms obliterated, the lands to the further north of Chersea turned to desolate wastelands. But in the end, humans prevailed and managed to drive the invaders back to their own lands…

Ah well, it's pretty interesting to note the names of the heroes summoned by the Saint of that time.

That last hero, Cassandra David…her name sounds familiar to me. I don't know where exactly I heard of it, but I feel like I uttered that name before…

Anyway, long story short, the general history of the human-demon war is: before heroes—defeat, after heroes—win. A typical ending for any fantasy novel out there, I know. But well, it's on the after-effects of that conflict that I once again became interested.

Because, during the course of the war, the heroes were supported by the duchy of Nerfes and other autonomous states of the Empire that was still functioning. The Holy Palatial Gardens also helped the heroes, and that caused a rift in the relationship of those surviving northern duchies and the rest of the Imperial Chersea.

When the war was over, the Empire was forced to grant further autonomy to Nerfes and elevated its status into a client kingdom, in order to preserve the Imperial authority in those parts.

However, it was too late. In the next few seasons after the end of the human-demon conflict, the northern states of the Empire rebelled and proclaimed independence from the Imperial rule.

Why would they continue to be ruled under a country that doesn't care for them anyway?

And so, that leads back to the present, and the geopolitical situation of Chersea, the realm of humans.

Wait, nothing was answered in my questions. This was indeed, 'humanity's greatest crisis'—at least, it was way back during those dark times. However, what about God's words? What crisis is He referring to?

Having hit a dead end, I took the book and put it back on its shelf. Well, it's not like I totally wasted time researching on nothing; I actually learned more about Chersea's past. But I guess, to answer my questions, I really have to scan around the entire history section of the library, which is…uh…I think, it'll take a long while…

Who knows, I might stumble again on some interesting stuff if I did just that.

Going down the ladder that was for accessing the higher parts of the library (Chersea's history books about the human-demon war occupy a high shelf), I accidentally missed a step and almost fell crashing on the floor. Fortunately, I managed to grab hold on a sturdy part of the shelf before me, thus, avoiding a painful accident.

"!!!"

However, some books that were out of their proper place were the ones that fell. It caused a muffled crashing sound, which is good, since I don't want to disturb Maddie on her sleep.

Having gone down safely from the ladder, I picked the books that fell to place them back in their former positions. I looked into the titles just to be sure I'm arranging it in a manner that would help the maid sorting it.

"!!!"

A book with blood red letters for its title caught my attention. Singling it out, I read the words on the thick, leather cover…

'Bloody Witch of Meldech'

Hmm…pretty interesting title, huh? I wonder if this is a novel, or—

Oh right, this is the history section…

So, Cherseans have legends like this classified as official history. I mean, come on, the book title reeks of chuunibyou. How can someone take this seriously?

The Bloody Witch of Meldech. For several seasons, the people of Nerfes' capital city was terrorized by this horrible creature. A perfect bogeyman for the children, and the worst nightmare for the adults. This demon in the shape of human is never easily satiated with their blood…

A demon in human form, or a human with a heart of a demon? Find out the—

"!!!"

I was shocked when the book—as heavy as it weighs—suddenly flew away from my hands. I was about to run from fright when I saw Maddie behind me.

"What? Was that you who knocked that book away from my hand?" I sighed in relief as I saw her. I almost thought it's a ghost, or something else.

"Ah yes. Was wondering about that book you're reading…"

"Oh that? It's some weird book about a 'Bloody Witch' of something…"

"I see…" Maddie then uttered a spell that caused all the books scattered nearby to return neatly by themselves in their respective places. I couldn't help but to marvel at the ability she displayed; it's just way too cool for me to handle.

"Ah anyway, Kuro, can I ask you something?"

"Hm? Sure, what is it?"

"Uhm…can you please refrain from mentioning this 'Bloody Witch' thing?" Maddie then brought the book that talks about that very topic; it seemed like she purposefully left it out with her when she returned the other books on their shelves. "I didn't know that there's still a copy of this book here; please forget anything that you read about it."

Then, without uttering a word, she burned it to ashes.

"…"

Honestly, I'm all creeped-out by Maddie's sudden change in character. Even without her speaking, I could sense that she's dead serious with her request for me to forget what I just saw.

"Kuro, please, can I count on your cooperation in this matter?"

"A-alright." I was bewildered by the sudden turn of events that I didn't think much of my answer.

Ah, it's not like it has something to do with me anyway, I hope…

The God of Chersea had retired. Not wishing to be bothered by another land to govern, the gods chose a few mortals known as the Saints to guide Chersea for them. Each were given a corresponding god-like powers, and each had different personalities. Enter Kuro. He was a human from Earth that was summoned by the Human Saint, all because she was bored. Virtually alone and with a few friends to turn to, he must learn to survive in this new land he was brought into. And for that to happen, Kuro must discover and wield the power he didn't know he possessed long before he was summoned to Chersea...

Liza had asked Kwanda to bring his Grimoire with for the following the death of glow worm. She spent two night reading it and Kwanda would have to train extra hard. The amount of mana in body was already past that of normal mage. She had changed their training regime to more closely mirror her own training.

She had made a startling discovery that she discussed with Wendy then the whole family, they are all could also train in a similar way to Kwanda thou, they would be comparatively weaker version of the base technique of developing a crown.

It was still something they should all do. Even Wendy had to, The crown was missing piece they had all been looking for. Due to loss of knowledge through the ages many magic users have been using half baked techniques, poor quality spells and so on. The worst part that the person who had written this book specifically is also a close relative. Wendy did not understand why such techniques were not in the family when they had been written by someone from her family.

Unsurprisingly all of them registration a huge change in ability, it was as if they have moved from using mud as a foundation to cement. Best of all the techniques they had already learned only got stronger. Even Zodwa with her acute sensitivity finally found relief, by forming her crown she had completed the circuit to truly active her abilities. She had awakened as a Spirit Caller. It is similar to ancient class described in the book of Flint which told the story of a solider who saved a town by controlling spirits to remove poison from the water. 

Zodwa first spirit was an Obsidian Rhino, she pulled it from a higher realm to serve her. When she linked with her mana it became visible, a ball of it that took on the characteristics of Obsidian appeared around her, she also had a direct boost in strength. In a friendly sparring match it took Liza nearly three hours to defeat instead of the normal thirty minutes.

The Witch Hunters Guide was returned to Kwanda, with a new purpose in mind from Liza. Kwanda had already taken all the steps he needed to begin mastering the mana confluence ability, the first to becoming a mage according to book. The ring that Kwanda's father gave to him had started resonating with him whenever he was in his meditative training pose for mana confluence.

Wendy had formed her crown in three days, only Liza did it faster by completing it in one, apparently Wendy was correct to allow Liza to explore her own path to becoming a Zduhac. Wendy had done so because her mother had warned her "that family developed technique would limit future growth potential of a Zduhac." Liza natural ability and tenacious attitude have meant that she is was on the path that resembled those Zduhac of the past. 

Thando was not sure what happened to her only saying that she had gained a significant boost to her healing ability. Wendy later found out that Thando had in fact discovered the basis for immortality but it was something she preferred not to explore further. This small aspect of her power could cause many wars if it got out especially since they were coming of age. If Liza does not become the next head they would have to marry the people the Head chooses and Wendy was already skeptical of her father.

Their ambient mana in the house also affected them, having so mana powerful wizards in one place caused them manifest other abilities. 
As the saying goes "power breeds more power", Most of the family managed to get their ambient mana under control in a few days. Liza told Kwanda to not do it yet as he could use his skill of teleporting to develop other abilities.

Kwanda had also become quite proficient at it he had managed to teleport to Wendy's office, which was over 400 kilometers away. But it often happens that even the Beastmen ally with the Devils or tend to stay neutral when large wars unfold. This creates a kind of disparity of strength and one might even deduce that Knights might fall one day but until now, they never did. Why? Because of the Mages of the Western Continent are allied with the Knights of the Central Continent, making one of the greatest and most powerful alliances of all times, the Sword and Magic Alliances. 
Unlike the Witches of the Witch Faction, these mages obtain their magic by deciphering the laws of universe and are more interested in solving mysterious than obtaining luxurious as the witches' desire. Their zealous search for answers often intrigued the Knight's own soldiers, blacksmith and artisans to do better things than just fighting, creating massive siege machines, magic-infused-weapons and new Battle Techniques.
It is true that mages often tend to associate with other mages, witches too if case permits but often during large wars, it would be them who would advise kings and emperors. 
Their association made the already feared Knight's Faction even more feared than ever.

Cursed Throne, Wisteria Castle, Capital city of Wisteria, Wisteria, Witch Faction.
The Witch Faction was located in the northern reaches of the continent, engulfed in an eternal war with the frosty winters and from the Viking raiders of the Northern Continent.
The heartland of the Witch Faction was the Wisteria Empire, ruled by the Great White Witch, the most powerful witch in the whole world. Her power could rival a peak Rank 8 Archmage and can rain destruction on her enemies without even touching or seeing them. Rumors have it that the bloodline of the Great White Witch contains traces of the blood of Lucifer, the Fallen Angel, making that family one of the purest of all devil bloodline. Her powers are supreme.
She lives in the heartland of Wisteria Empire in the Wisteria Castle, cooped and hidden from the eyes of the Knights and Mages and from all other powerful beings. 
The Wisteria Castle is a mega castle made from Black Jadeite Stone and White Moonstone, giving it its iconic Black-White colors. Standing at a massive a hundred meters tall, it is taller and more ferocious than anything, it's 4 Grand Watchtowers and 16 Minor Watchtowers along with the thousands of warlords and witches guarding the walls and the various areas, making it the most watched and guarded stronghold of all castles.
In the deepest part of the castle was the Cursed Throne, the throne of the White Witch. It was a throne made from the purest of the purest Mithril in the entire Yesteria and it radiated a glow so subtle yet radiant that ordinary people would immediately bewitched by its radiance whereas kings and generals would be incapable of movement.
On the throne sat a middle-aged lady, 6 feet tall and with a head full of while hairs. She wore a white gown with a purple embroidery which covered her entire boy, a small ruby, emerald crown rested upon her white head as she looked into the dark sky outside her castle from a small stone window. Her face was as white as snow without a single wrinkle or line and it looked like God has personally crafted her from scratch. Her crimson eyes, long straight nose and thin lips were a combination of unmatched beauty. In addition to her beautiful jawline and face, it wasn't an exaggeration if one announced her as the most beautiful in the whole world.  
"What are you looking at, mother?"
A sudden feminine voice shocked the lady who sat on the throne. She turned towards the source of the voice and saw a young lady of eighteen staring at her with intensity. She was her daughter, Eleanor. Eleanor, just like her mother was a beauty of unmatched brilliance. She had the same face, hair and nose of her mother, the only difference was that her eyes weren't crimson red but a captivating blue, like the blue of the deep ocean and her tiny lips, weren't thin but a little protruding, giving a man an involuntary desire of kissing her. Of course, every man who tried had been buried under the soil… alive.
"What are you looking at, mother?" 
She asked, her thin white brows frowning. 
"A-ah…" her repeated questioning finally woke her mother, Queen Mildred or better known as the White Witch Mildred. "Nothing, my dear. I'm only praying to the Dark Lord, asking for his forgiveness and to take away this frost as soon as possible so that our farmers can finally grow something and relieve themselves of their pains.
C'mon dear, pray with me too." She said as she beaconed her to come near but Eleanor shook her head firmly. 
"Rather than praying to the Dark Lord, I prefer to go down and do something with my own hands." she said as a matter-of-fact.
Her mother sighed, pain and melancholy clear on her face, "Don't do something like that, dear. You already completed your Dark Baptism and sworn your body, mind and soul to the Dark Lord, so why must you be so stubborn." She said but Eleanor clearly disagreed.
She pointed at her mother and said, "Mother, you said that after the Dark Baptism, I would gain new powers, new spells, unlimited amounts of spells but nothing! Until now, I've gained nothing. And everyone is treating me so badly. They always revere me like … like some goddess or something. I hate it." Eleanor said, childishly. 
"Child…" her mother sighed, looking at her pitifully but then, two more people entered the whole. One was a woman wearing a strange kind of dress which looked like an armor with a witches' gown underneath it. 
The man, on the other hand, wore a warlock's gown. It is basically a witches' gown with a male design. Both of them wore blank, white masks.
"You called us here, Your Majesty." Both of them said solemnly as they kneeled down on the ground and bowed their heads down. 
"Yes." Mildred said gently but after that she turned silent. She turned back towards the window and stared at the black skies for quite a long time. And for this whole time, both of them didn't even dare to flinch their heads. Looking at their loyalty and perseverance, Eleanor felt all giddy but chose not to disturb her mother.
After a long time, Mildred opened her mouth and said in a firm and resolute tone, "There is an Archmage of Fire in the town of Lexington of Ryre in the Xerith Empire. I want both of you to go and get him back here."
"Archmage of Fire. You mean from one of the Sacred Colleges of Magic?" asked the warlock but Mildred shook her head. 
"We have many Archmages from the Colleges but he is special. He is from the Western Continent. From the Temple of Magic in the Western Continent. I want you to recruit him to help out Eleanor when she ascends the throne." 
"But… will the Archmage listen to us? I heard they are prideful and powerful, far more powerful than… any other mage in the Central Continent." The other lady in mask said. 
"Even me?" Mildred asked in a questioning tone. 
"That…" her question baffled the lady in mask and she stuttered in fear and terror. She shook a little but then Eleanor spoke up.
"Yes! The mages of the Western Continent are all more powerful than us, the witches and warlocks and you're not an exception. They are more cunning and more deadly. Having someone like him would be the death of us. It is the same as rearing snakes to bite us back. I don't agree to having someone like that near me. Especially after I ascend." She said resolutely but it seemed that Mildred was least concerned about her words.
She turned towards the witch and warlock in mask and ordered them in a firm tone, "Go. Recruit him here. I don't want to hear any excuses. If you fail, don't dare to show your face here."
"Yes, Your Majesty!" they said simultaneously and dashed outside but right then Mildred stopped them.
"Wait!"
They turned back and saw her standing and looking at them with a cold light.
"The Archmage's name is Magmus and he is currently teaching an azure-talented child… use him. You get what I mean, don't you, Eclipse?" she asked the lady.
Eclipse nodded her head, "I will get it done."
"Good. Also remember that for the time being, you will be Aurora. I told him that I will send Aurora as she had met him once. But Aurora is too 'good' to be of assistance here. Thus, I'm sending you. Don't let me down."
Eclipse gave a low bow. Aurora was her blood-sister and also her closest rival. "I will do anything to get him."
"Even if that means killing all the azure-talent kids in the town?"
"… yes…" she said, emotionlessly. 
"Good." Finally, Mildred showed a smile. "Go quickly and bring me good news."
They both gave a low bow before leaving the throne room. On the side, Eleanor looked on with horror. She glanced at her mother and all she could she see and feel was a cold monster. But the fact remained that she was her mother. She bit down on her lips and left the place.
Her mother stared at her leaving figure but didn't stop her. 
'Child, you will understand me in near future.'

Ch – 4 The White Witch

In a world controlled by the Mighty and Impartial System and the Pantheon of Gods and Goddesses, everyone is bound to someone through the mysterious shackles of Laws and Karma. 
The Churches are bound to their respective gods, their followers and believers to them and vice-versa. 
In this system, everyone profits with the Gods and Goddesses giving special talents and skills to their followers and clerics in return for Favor and Faith whereas the people get power to fuel their respective desires.
But in this world, a child is born who is bound to a god, like all other, but his God is dead. Therefore, with his half-broken shackles and a mysterious entity from the Abyss haunting him, the kid wanders the world trying to find answers on why he is so different that the others, to fulfill his destiny and in the midst of it, trying to find his real family.

As witch hysteria decreased in Europe, it grew in the New World, which was reeling from wars between the French and British, a smallpox epidemic and the ongoing fear of attacks from neighboring native American tribes. The tense atmosphere was ripe for finding scapegoats. Probably the best-known witch trials took place in Salem, Massachusetts in 1692.
The Salem witch trials began when 9-year-old Elizabeth Parris and 11-year-old Abigail Williams began suffering from fits, body contortions and uncontrolled screaming (today, it is believed that they were poisoned by a fungus that caused spasms and delusions). As more young women began to exhibit symptoms, mass hysteria ensued, and three women were accused of witchcraft: Sarah Good, Sarah Osborn and Tituba, an enslaved woman owned by Parris's father. Tituba confessed to being a witch and began accusing others of using black magic. On June 10, Bridget Bishop became the first accused witch to be put to death during the Salem Witch Trials when she was hanged at the Salem gallows. Ultimately, around 150 people were accused and 18 were put to death. Women weren't the only victims of the Salem Witch Trials; six men were also convicted and executed.
Massachusetts wasn't the first of the 13 colonies to obsess about witches, though. In Windsor, Connecticut in 1647, Alse Young was the first person in America executed for witchcraft. Before Connecticut's final witch trial took place in 1697, forty-six people were accused of witchcraft in that state and 11 were put to death for the crime.
In Virginia, people were less frantic about witches. In fact, in Lower Norfolk County in 1655, a law was passed making it a crime to falsely accuse someone of witchcraft. Still, witchcraft was a concern. About two-dozen witch trials (mostly of women) took place in Virginia between 1626 and 1730. None of the accused were executed.

The door creaked, unwilling to open. Massive and ponderous, the sunlight glinted on cracked varnish, broken ornaments, and some greasy spots.
The twisted, rusty hinges made opening the door quite the ordeal. Little Alexander used the old reading room as his personal asylum, one only penetrated by the few who dared enter the west wing of the castle.
Yes, the west wing. Just like in the cartoon with the living furniture pieces he'd watched with Robin a short time before.
"There you are, Sasha," a female voice with a thick eastern European accent said from next to his ear as he sat in a deep, giant armchair upholstered in chintz.
Just like the door, the west wing, and really the whole manor house, the armchair was old, smelling of dust, mold, and cat poop.
The Follen manor had lots of cats.
"Anastasia," Alexander smiled, closing his textbook and trying to hide it behind his back. That definitely wasn't enough to escape the Russian witch's warm, brown eyes.
She was tall, taller than Robin. And beautiful. If Alexander were older, he'd have called her sexy, but in those days he didn't know much about sex. Actually, all he knew was that it was one of things most frequently bought and sold in High Garden.
She almost never wore dresses, preferring a shabby Star Wars hoodie, threadbare Levi's jeans, and Converse sneakers. She had only one pair of Converse, but she put in different colored laces every three days.
And is it even worth mentioning that she was dating Robin?
Neither the height difference nor the age gap bothered them.
Robin had turned seventeen the previous week, Alexander's third at Follen, while Anastasia was coming up on her twenty-second birthday.
That provided an endless supply of jokes for the other students at Follen School of Dark Wizardry and the Forbidden Arts. (That was what Robin called it, a reference to some Hogwarts or other. Alexander had no idea what kind of place that was, though his older friend promised to show him a bunch of movies about a bespectacled wizard the next weekend.) Everyone agreed that Robin and Anastasia had probably come together as the only adults outside Professor Raewsky at the school.
"Why aren't you playing with the other kids?"
Alexander had laughed at Anastasia's accent at first. She sounded like a character straight out of an old spy movie. He'd teased her until she poured a bucket of cold water over him.
Unsurprisingly, that had cooled him off.
"Are they hurting cats again?" Dumsky squinted.
"Um…" Anastasia pretended to fall thoughtful. "Patrick and Jessie call it a game. Irma and Ganesh agree with them."
"Little bastards." Jumping to his feet, Alexander was about to dash for the door when he literally bumped into Robin.
As always, the latter was wearing a suit, a narrow tie, and a stripeless hat. There was a cigarette in his fingers.
Robin was a heavy smoker.
A very heavy smoker.
He said smoking used to take the edge off the hunger when he was begging for food in the High Garden streets. Alexander didn't believe that. How could smoke replace food? Robin was presumably just making up excuses for his bad habit.
"Looking like a bad boy again." Robin ruffled Alexander's hair. "If you stay like that, you won't lose your innocence until you turn as old as the main character from the movie we watched yesterday."
"Forty years is a pittance for a true wizard."
"Pittance? If you keep using words like that, you're going to die a virgin."
Dumsky pushed Robin's hands away and took another step toward the dark corridor flanked by suits of armor. Its walls were hung with tapestries and paintings, its floor covered with once-thick carpet long worn out.
"One against four, Alex?" Robin inhaled and blew smoke out of his nose. "Anastasia and I spent two days nursing you back to health last time."
"They're hurting cats!"
"Oh Loki, god of the dark arts," Robin said with an eyeroll. "Why did you endow this wonder kid with such a great love for those flea carriers?"
"They're soft and fluffy." Alex frowned. "And they don't have fleas. They don't run away when I come to pet them, either."
"They don't," Anastasia smiled, coming up from behind him. "Sometimes it's scary how this seven-year-old's—"
"I'm almost eight!"
"This almost-eight-year-old's," the Russian witch corrected herself with the same smile on her lips and deep in her eyes, "body is shared by a black magic genius and…a boy of eight."
"A boy in the shiny black armor of a dark knight," Robin added. "Fear him! He's the terror that flaps in the night, the—"
"That's not from Duck Tales," Dumsky interrupted. "I Googled it. It's Darkwing Duck. A separate series."
"You don't know anything." Robin poked Alex's forehead with a finger. He always did that when he wanted to explain something but didn't have the words. "Well, do you remember what I taught you?"
"First, watch my feet. Second, don't let anyone get behind me. Third, use mana sparingly so I still have some in reserve after the fight. Fourth—"
Robin's hand flashed in front of Alex's eyes.
"What's this?"
"A notebook."
"I can see that. What are you using it for?"
"Writing down your lessons."
"Damn it! Damn it, you fucking…"
The rest of Robin's cursing was drowned out by Anastasia's ringing laughter.
"I'm going to start calling you Sheldon Cooper." Embracing him from behind, she started to squeeze slightly.
"Stop…cuddling…me," Doom said, barely getting the words out.
"Well, wifey, it's time to let our son go fight his battle."
"I'm not your wifey," Anastasia shot back, sticking her tongue out at him. "And I'm not letting my son go."
"If you're not my wifey, then was he born in sin?"
"No. He's just not yours."
"Oh Loki. Why? Why did you punish me with a non-wife who cheats on me?! The only good thing is that you had such a cute wonder kid. Here, let me hug him, too."
"You're strangling me!" Trapped between their bodies, Alexander got away. He dusted off the sweater that fell nearly to his heels and completely covered his sliced jeans and plain sneakers. "And I'm not your son!"
"How awful."
"You heard that, too, dear? Our son abandoned us!"
"Oh dear. I don't know where we went wrong as parents."
"A couple of idiots," Alexander said through gritted teeth before realizing that no one was blocking his way anymore and dashing off into the corridor.
"Come back with your shield or on it, my boy!" Robin shouted after him.

Putting one chair on the floor and sitting down on it, Mara listened to her professor and supervisor play. So absorbed. So obsessed. And so painful. His fingers fluttered easily over the keys, touching them briefly and lightly, but…
But still she had the impression that Professor Dumsky was playing more on broken glass than on a piano, each touch bringing with it unbearable pain.
Pain that was mental, not physical.
It was as if the broken shards of glass were cutting straight through to his heart.
All that dulled the pain were the cigarette in his mouth and the glass of whiskey.
"What happened to you, Professor?" Mara whispered, then clapped both hands over her mouth.
Fortunately for her, the black wizard was too engrossed in the music representing the broken shards of other people's hearts to hear what she said.
The music played on, Dumsky's stare growing darker and darker as he immersed himself deeper and deeper into his past.

Alexander Dumsky, or Alex Doom, was a dark wizard. At the age of seventeen, he was convicted of a litany of crimes so long that even the seasoned investigators, judges, and prosecutors involved in the case could only shudder.
Not a single attorney could be found to defend him in court.
But four years later, Alex was released from prison to become the Professor of Dark Magic. They'd thrown him into the deepest hole they could find, one built for the sole purpose of holding wizards, and then they let him back out again...
Why him? Why then?
Oh, you're not surprised to hear talk of wizardry? Well, then you probably know that the Magic Lens, which was invented in 2032, let humans see and use magic again.
