Min-Hyeok Kim who was drinking his glass of beer asked,
"We are in the auto parts manufacturing industry. Is it one of the items we can trade with North Korea?"
"If it is an auto part of Chinese vehicles, then yes. But it's for a part for Korean cars, then no. Currently, there is no Korean car in North Korea."
"Hmmm… What sorts of business items will be good then?"
"Construction materials are good. The last stage materials, I think you call them interior materials in Korea, right? North Korea is short of these materials. Their demands are high. I made good money last year by selling the interior materials to North Korea. I have a condo in Pyongyang and two housemaids are working for me."
"Hmmm, construction materials… What about construction heavy equipment?"
The Samchully Company's president waved his hand showing his strong opposition to the idea while having his fish dish.
"North Korea is now suffering a severe gas shortage. So, they wouldn't be able to use equipment anyway, even though they have one."
"Hmm."
"Retired tires are okay since oils can be derived from old tires."
"What about minerals? Like coal, iron, etc?"
"Minerals are good. Farm produces or fish products are good too. One thing you need to note is that these products should be exported from Nampo Port in North Korea. If you move those products to Dandong before exporting them to South Korea, then those products would become produces of China, not produces of North Korea."
"I see. So, we can get a certificate of origin with North Korea's name as long as the products leave from Nampo Port before reaching South Korea."
"That's right. Once you bring them to Dandong, you can't have your certificate of origin issued."
 
Gun-Ho felt full after having a beer with several dishes.
"Thank you for today. I've learned a lot."
"If you decide to work together, just let me know. I am highly knowledgeable about the trade with North Korea, and I know every path from Sinuiju City to Pyongyang. Also, I have a broad connection with a lot of important people in Pyongyang."
"Thank you again for staying with us until late at night."
Gun-Ho gave them the nail clipper sets he brought from Seoul, as a gift.
 
He was in a taxi heading to the hotel when he received a call from Seukang Li.
"I was wondering if you safely arrived in Korea."
"Oh, I haven't left for Korea yet. I'm in Dandong City right now."
"Dandong?"
"Yes. The deputy director of Dandong Border Economic Corporation Zone invited me to visit their development zone. So, I am on the way to the hotel after visiting him."
"Dandong Border Economic Corporation Zone is a national industrial complex."
"They are saying that if I open a business there, they will give me lots of benefits like taxes."
"Their prices for the land and labor are very reasonable; however, I'm not sure if it is the right location for an auto parts business. Auto manufacturers are all located on the east coast."
"You're right. That's why I gathered some information about a trade business with North Korea."
"A trade business?"
"That doesn't sound so promising, does it?"
"Well, I am not a businessman, but a government worker, so I don't know much about business. However, it reminded me of what the economics professor—Jien Wang said the other day."
"What did he say?"
"He said, if you want to make money, you'd better start your business in an area where money and people are driven to."
"The area where money and people are driven to… That sounds right."
Gun-Ho then thought that the Dandong area was not that kind of area.
'For now, I will have to do my business in the area where a lot of people and money are staying. I'm okay with setting my mind that I came all the way to Dandong City for a pleasure trip.'
The following day, Gun-Ho came back to Korea via Shenyang City from Dandong City, and Min-Hyeok took a direct flight from Dandong City to Shanghai.
 
When he arrived at Incheon International Airport, Gun-Ho made a call to President Jeong-Sook Shin of GH Media.
"President Shin, I just came back from China. I'm at the Incheon International Airport."
"Oh, really?"
"I asked Director Kang to get a price quote for the interior renovation of the basement space in GH Building in Sinsa Town."
"Oh, someone is moving in there? It's already rented out?"
"No. I'm thinking of opening an art gallery there as you suggested the other day."
"That's great."
"I'm planning to redo the entire interior. But since this is an art gallery, I believe the lighting is very important. I'd like to have your professional opinion on it."
"Where do we meet? I can come right now."
"If you are not busy, please come to GH Building in Sinsa Town. I think I can get there within two hours."
"Okay. I'm on my way."
 
Gun-Ho arrived at his office of GH Development in Sinsa Town.
"How are you? Is everything good here?"
"Yes, sir. Here is a price quote for the basement interior renovation. We usually get several price quotes from multiple remodeling companies, but for now, I got one from one company. So you can get a rough idea about how much it would cost to remodel that space."
"President Shin from GH Media will be here soon. She used to work in an art gallery before. I think she can give us some professional opinion and advice."
"Oh, really? She used to work at an art gallery. No wonder why she looked so sophisticated. By the way, sir, you look so tired today."
"I actually came here straight from the airport after visiting Dandong and Shengyang City in China. I guess I drank too much Chinese liquor."
The secretary—Ms. Yeon-Soo Oh brought a cup of hot green tea to Gun-Ho. After having the tea, Gun-Ho felt better.
While looking at the price quote that Director Kang brought to him, Gun-Ho commented,
"It's quite pricey."
"That's right. Because the place was used for a sauna business, there are lots of demolition works to do, according to the contractors."
While having a conversation with Director Kang, President Shin came into the office.
"Sir, you must feel very tired. You just came back from China. We could have met maybe tomorrow after you take your rest."
Secretary Yeon-Soo Oh brought another cup of green tea for President Shin and placed it on the table next to her.
"Is this lady Ms. Yeon-Soo Oh?"
"Yes, ma'am."
Yeon-Soo responded since she was standing there,
"I'm GH Media's President Shin. We spoke on the phone several times for the letters that I had to send to Amazon.com. You translated the letters into English for me. It's really nice to finally meet you in person."
"Nice to meet you, too, ma'am."
"You are not just fluent in English, but you are so pretty."
"Thank you."
"You have a nice boss, right? President Goo is a decent person."
"Yes, ma'am."
Yeon-Soo Oh smiled and left the office after giving her a deep bow.
 
I went to the Chinese avant-garde art exhibition in Shanghai."
"Oh, you did? I really wanted to go there."
"I also talked with Director Seukang Li."
"What did the two of you talked about?"
"He suggested me to host an art exhibition in Korea, on the Chinese avant-garde art with the name of GH Media."
"What? Avant-garde art exhibition here?"
President Shin's eyes widened in surprise and looked at Gun-Ho.

This is the story of a poor young man whose poverty even shreds apart their family willing to climb his way through society and into the top. A very realistic novel that moves away from fantasy and sci-fi and focuses solely on the issues of society and life.

My name is Kora, your average fucked up 17 year old, I guess I should start my story, and I guess we can start when I ran away. My parents were good people, my mother a literal goddess, and my father the kindest man you'd ever met. Sounds great right? You're probably wondering why I would run away from them.. well I didn't. They disappeared about two years ago, and since everyone thinks they're dead they sent me to go live with my aunts, they're a nice couple when u first get to meet them, but I swear I've never met anyone faker than them. An abusive pair, I mean, they never wanted me, of course they'd treat me like shit. I can't help but be angry at them though, it's not like I asked my parents to disappear. I miss them a lot, I've just never been the type to show much emotion. I know what you're probably thinking. "Great. Another stereotype. Another quote on quote bad girl story." 
Well I don't think I'm much of a stereotype at all, but, think what you want. I had to leave my aunts' home. I couldn't bare it. So I packed my back and now I'm in New York alone. I doubt my aunts will find me, or even want to. You probably wanna know how I look, maybe not, but well I have dark brown curly hair, almost black. My skin is a lighter tan, and I have purple-ish eyes, it's a genetic mutation. I'm 5'3, and have a few tattoos that you will learn about later. Anyway, it's September and I start school soon, in a few days actually. I've been dreading this day for weeks mostly because I barely have a place to live and now I have to find a place to do homework.

It was a famous quote or something- "through the tunnel of a lens, you see your hopes, your dreams"- some mass movie or the other. But he couldn't quite recall where. Pity really. It didn't really matter of course, but it would have been great to know. But hey, you could live a complete life without knowing it. But all he was really saying was that it would've been great to know. You know. Just would've. Like a sort of bonus to your life. Life++. You couldn't always get what you wanted, but it was a fairly simple wish. He just wanted to know where the quote came from. Wasn't really too much to ask honestly.

And once he got to know who's quote that was, he'd have loved to feed the man through a meat-grinder. Because whatever was at the other end of the lens most definitely was not his hopes and dreams. In fact, it was a little muon accelerator. Expensive thing- that. Needed a license and everything to operate that sort of thing. They usually used it to try and deconstruct walls and stuff. Real powerful stuff. Could probably blow a few walls straight through on a max charge. Real powerful.

He looked at the lens again.

It was popular- that sort of thing about seeing a tunnel of light and all that when you were about to die. Sort of vague stuff, the kind of droll they loved to put in all their movies and things these days. People loved it- that sort of tunnel of light sort of thing. And then ten seconds later it wouldn't really matter because it'd all be happily ever after again. Of course until the next sequel, but that was pretty whatever. Kirill as a rule tended not to watch that sort of thing. He considered himself much too intellectual for that. But once in a while you had to encourage yourself to go out and about with people who might be willing to lend you a little cash.

So every once in a while he would go out and about with that sort of people- really he didn't even know them. But things that had to be done had to be. And a few dollars a free lunch or so later, he'd find himself back home wasting his life doing nothing, nowhere. Of course it wasn't nowhere. It was his little podlike apartment. Tiny thing. Best he could afford. He managed its rent with the meager pay from his shitty job. Well that was where it'd all started anyway. Small job.

Kirill had woken up late. He'd been tired. He'd slept a grand total of two hours after being a complete sweat the whole night, and grinding his arse off in the server, trying to get internet famous in that shitty game. Well not really shitty- it was brilliant. It was absolutely great. Spectacular. That was why it was ass. He liked it so much he'd wanted all that digital fame it could bring him. Hell, he'd even made a couple thousand credits betting and stuff. All illegal of course. But that hardly mattered did it? But it wasn't reliable. You could lose all your money any day. Consistency. Consistency paid. 

So he had a job.

And he'd been late for his job that day- woken up late, sleep as hell, but desperate enough to get to work. It was like Monday Morning Blues, but all day long, all week. Sleeping was probably good for his health. Sleep was good. But caffeine was better. Just three shots of caffeine- pure strong liquid stimulant and you were all ready to go. So three shots, and one hour later he reached work late.

Boss didn't take that well. Reasonable, of course, to get angry at that. If he'd been the boss he would have been angry too. Very justifiably. Would've probably fired the chap who'd been late too. But he wasn't the boss, so he didn't really have a whole lot of good will in him to give out. Then again who did? On a seventh-world planet like this one, you were basically trapped. But that was brooding and edgy and all that. All he needed was to get that sweet digital fame, and more coffee.

He was unemployed now.

So of course, the first thing that he did- the first thing any reasonable arsehole would do- was to go and get three more shots of caffeine. This wasn't all that artisan shit. No beans or nothing. No organic shit. Just pure synthesized chemicals- immediately effective. Brilliant stuff. Not good for your health or something, but hell, he could just go ahead and deepen his pool of debt. Absolutely brilliant stuff.

In all honesty, he regretted some of it. Losing you job was pretty shitty. But such was life no? That was probably some movie cliche too. Probably the moment that jinxed it all. But such was life. What an arse of a statement. But such was life. The guy at the little coffee-shop, he was a pretty nice guy. His name was Bil32 or something. Bit of an arse, but a nice one. Most 32's were slight asses really. Man had come and asked him for a favour. In a professional capacity of course. The news hadn't quite spread yet, it'd been just that morning that he'd been employed as tech support. Bil didn't know that. Bil really didn't need to know that.

When Kirill hadn't seen Jess at the counter he'd initially figured that official maintenance had come by or something. That was the thing with big tech. When they said complementary service, it really meant that you didn't have any choice about it. No two ways. No nothings. They come in and either fixed it for you, or fixed you up. Exactly the sort of thing that would happen on a seventh-world planet like this. But that'd been what he'd thought. Maybe Jess'd broken down or maybe it'd gotten complementary service or something. Waitress bots weren't exactly his specialization. But it surprised Kirill a bit more. It was a lot stranger. Jess'd stopped working alright. But that's where the issue'd come in. The server hand't registered it. In fact, the server hadn't really registered anything.

The conversation with Bil had been a little terse. Mainly because he'd asked for a little extra when he'd heard the details. And Bil had the nerve to haggle. What an ass. Real 32, the man.

Kirill got his money.

And he'd also gotten into this hole mess. If he could go back in time, he'd have asked for a shit-load of money at least. Probably would've eased his pain a little. Maybe he could've had a clone of himself made or something. Resurrection was thing, sure- but it was hella expensive. And unreliable. You might die one day, just run over by a nuclear warhead or something, and wake up only to find out that seven of your organs were missing because the guys at the 42'd loaned them out since you wouldn't be using them anytime soon or something. Stupid shit. Couldn't really do much about the money now.

He couldn't really do much about anything.

It'd been that moment that had decided where he was going to go. The problem with the server was weird. Everything related to this matter was, but that server had been weird. Real weird. Real damn weird. So like, there'd been this thing, like the sudo-ports you know, it's like those internet controller things. It'd been something wrong with that. Or so he'd thought. Thinking hadn't been a good idea. He'd tried everything. Tried testing direct to processor commands and all that sort of technical thing. He'd even turned it on and off.

It was a horrible computer. It was broken. Totally smashed. Utterly wasted. Maybe something with those Vibrosion tubes or something, something to do with those quantum things- all that scientific stuff. It was an expensive server. All big tech shit was like that. Big. Expensive. Couldn't really fix it. He'd tried. The digital gods knew he'd tried. And that's when Bil has come back and asked.

Status? What Status had there been to give? He'd given it frank and straight to Bil. Call the asses at Big Tech. No two ways about it. And then Bil dropped the bomb. Real 32 move you know- all 32's, straight asses. He had bought it resale. No wonder. No damn wonder. NO DAMN WONDER. If he ever saw a 32 again, Bil or not, he'd pulp the man's face in. To the best of his ability, obviously, whatever power he might summon up through his atrophied arms, that would be the power of his retribution. "Mighty as the gods of Rome," or something like that. Well he could only hope that was the real quote. Couldn't really remember much then.

He'd slapped Bil. Bil didn't take kindly to that. Slapped some goddamn shit into that arsehole. Damn 32.

The fans broke.

That'd been a real shit moment. Bil had stopped for a second. He'd looked Kirill dead in the eye and cussed him straight to hell. Then Kirill told him.

It'd been grim and all that. The fans were broken. The server was overheating. Bil was either going to be in some deep financial shit, or he wouldn't. He wouldn't be anymore to be in deep financial shit. That was the thing with seventh-world bullshit corporate law- buying a modified or fake product was the same as being complicit in making a fake product. And that- that meant you were really in the meat-grinder if you got scammed. You may as well try and respawn yourself into another body, no matter how many organs you were missing. Any number of missing organs would be greatly preferable to being in the meat-grinder.

So Bil'd obviously chosen to keep it financial. Couldn't blame him, but it was a real 32 move that. Selfish as hell. They'd shut it down, locked down Bil's Jess model for the night, and grabbed all those broken parts. Anything was worth a shot right now. Kirill had thought that this had been his chance. real chance to get even more money. But he should've just asked for more money straight up. Bil was a real 32, and he should've known that that meant he was an absolute idiot. Straight to his bones, real solid idiot.

That'd been the moment he knew he'd been in deep shit. Nothing honestly reminded you that you were a nobody, nowhere, than being in deep shit because of big tech.

He look back into the lens.

Kirill 'Drogya' Andonov works tech-support. He's an average guy, working an average job,  living the average life. Until, of course, he gets involved in your average conspiracy to overthrow your average seventh-world government. With big tech pursuing him, and a mysterious person contacting him on the servers of his favourite game, exactly what the hell has Kirill got himself into?

"Your brother is connected with the soul of the painting. Only then you can understand the scope of the painting. "
"Do you understand it Curie? "
"Did you find out that there is a quote written on the painting? "
"No.Let me see. "
Annie studied the painting and didn't find anything but Jeremy found some scripts on the trunk. He showed that. 
"Look at that writings. But it's like Greek and Latin. I don't understand the meaning.Annie, you are worst at observing things."
Bonnie looked at the painting and remembered some Korean drama she watched the day before. 
"No, it's Chinese I think. comodo means come. "
Jeremy was befuddled.Chinese!Oh! Bon bon is talented. 
Curie heard all their speculations. 
"Bonnie, that's actually Spanish. Comodo means feel. I too didn't know before.This is one of my inspirational paintings."
Jeremy burst out laughing. "Bon bon! Haha! You tried you luck right. "
Bonnie bit her teeth but didn't utter a word. She felt dumb. 
Jeremy started boasting about Curie. 
"Curie, you are awesome. You are always like this. You're my princess. That's why I.."
He looked at Annie. Somehow he didn't feel like telling the word 'like' or 'love' then.After a pause he continued. 
"Kinda find you sweet.You are super. "
Curie smiled. "Stop it Idiot! I am an artist so I have a bit of knowledge about it. Any of you didn't choose arts as the special subject so how will you know? "
Annie also appreciated Curie. "Really! I was watching this painting whenever I am bored but never understand anything but you found it in one glance. "
"There is even a specialty in this painting. How many members can you see in the painting??"
"Two.A boy and a girl."
"It's only one there's no girl it's only a branch. Observe it keenly. "
The quote can be seen only with keen observation and even the fact is that there is no girl in the painting. The thing beside the boy is some prolonged branch of the tree. The painting depicts the feelings of the boy for the girl. 
While this was going on in the living room Jeffery was in some video conference of some project. He could hear the babbling of the people down. As he was busy he let it go.Jeffery ended the video conference and stepped out of the study. Rick was sitting on the sofa outside the study. 
"You ended the video conference so fast."
"Why is it so noisy? Who came ? "
"Isn't your study sound proof?How come you can hear the noise? "
"The person who kept the door open and left was you. "
"Ah! How's your injury? Don't forget that you were shot by a bullet. It was a just miss situation. "
"It's fine. Don't nag me.It's not a big deal."
Jeffery's study is at the first floor of the three storeyed villa. The living room can be seen clearly from the place where Rick and Jeffery were standing. Jeffery lighted his cigarette and glanced at the people standing in the living room to see what Annie was doing. 
He found that everyone were chatting. Jeffery looked at one of the girls and felt familiar.That was Curie. He recalled that the person at the garden few days before was her. This girl! How did she find about Annie? It's really a drastic improvement. She is too scheming. What is she up to? Nice move. I was waiting for your move since that day. Interesting! 
Rick noticed that Jeffery was gazing at the girl. 
"What are you staring at? She is cute.The girl beside her is also cute. "
Jeffery thought When compared this scheming girl is cute and has innocent looks. Who would think she is scheming with that looks? 
"I don't know about that girl beside but the culprit of that incident is this girl.On that day I found her at the woods. "
"What! "
Rick was dumbfounded. Did Jeffery has a memory loss or brain damage? He is blaming an innocent girl as a criminal.
"Jeffery, I think you are sick. Did you get hurt when you fell down at the woods?Did you get affected by concussion? Let's go for a health check up. "
"What rubbish! She is that girl. The same watch. She even had the same phone in her hand."
"Watch!Phone! That watch is very popular many people have it. Phone, it's not expensive anyone can afford. Do you really think that as proof? "
Annie patted Rick from back. Annie noticed that Jeffery and Rick were out of the study. She excused herself and went up to first floor. 
"Why are both of you looking at my friends? What watch phone..? Isn't it bad manners to peep at the guests like that? "
"We are not peeping? This is our house. We can see anywhere. "Rick clarified. 
" I know that my friends are beautiful but they are my friends.You should not think like that. "
"Like what?All your friends are beautiful except you. But our standard is higher."
"Chaa's standard is high. But yours, I will leave it for you to decide. You are thinking of gifts to please them like watch and what not. "
"Why did you come up? Go and watch cartoons with those friends of yours. "
"You go deal with your ex's. I think they are waiting for you at some pubs or at your residence. "
"You have the nerve to tease me. You.. "
Jeffery didn't bother them and was in some deep contemplation staring the girl in the living room.What is the game she wanna play? She is cooked up. Is she a spy? How come she is fast?Tricking Annie is not simple.. 
Annie went to Jeffery and interrupted his detective gaze and complained. 
"Chaa! See Ricky is bullying me.See he is looking fiercely. "Again tricking with her puppy eyes. 
Jeffery glared at Rick. Rick was short of words. He thought that Annie!Oscar acting! Even this ice berg believes.I can't win with this bold and arrogant siblings. Neither Jeffrey nor Annie. . It's best to quit. 

"Chairman Jef,Let's toss a coin. If it's a head I am yours and if it's a tail you are mine."
The girl who said these words with damn cute face were resonating in Jeffery's mind.
 "Chaa,are you missing her?"Annie asked.
"Mhm.. Ah! No."
"Atleast be frank with yourself."
"If she is happy! But it sucks."Jeffery's eyes were red and watery.

At a private room in a hotel... 

"Jeremy, he is a monster.He ruined my family."Curie shouted at her peek. 
"Are you telling me or yourself?" Jeremy questioned. 
"I..But, why am I suffering to avenge him? Why is he letting me slander him? "
"Curie, what is he to you? Get that clear."By saying this Jeremy left slamming the door.
 He redialed the number on top of his missed calls list an arrogant female voice was heard. " Jeremy, any progress? "
 "No, Annie! What about you? "
 "He is a hopeless love lorn."
 "The more they care, the depth they suffer. "
 Annie blurted out of blue"Jer, I.. I miss you. "
 "Me too, babe. "Jeremy answered with contempt smile. 
Revenge is a cureless disease.
Can the sweetness of love blossom in this dark revenge? 
Can they find the antidote for this disease?
Where will this exorbitant avenge lead to!!

I was in the Center mall looking for a place to read my newly bought book, a book that I saved money for. As I roamed around the mall, I noticed there were a lot of people wearing black suits.

Black suits? In this boiling hot weather? Are they lost? I spotted a middle-aged man with blond hair and striking blue eyes commanding the other men waving his hand frantically.

I saw that this 'boss' was pointing to another person that had the same features as him but younger, maybe my age. This older man pointed to the younger boy telling him to stop, but the younger boy continued to run away from him.

Am I supposed to stop this? Poor him, if I trip him at his speed, I'll bet he'll fall...

His perfectly combed blond hair was now flying everywhere as he ran in my direction. He was tall, handsome and oh, his eyes. His mesmerizing blue eyes and how they...

Wake up Scarlett Crest he's headed towards you! Move your ass!

I was not inclined to move so instead I walked forward and as I was about to walk past him I put my foot limply at his side and…Thud!

He fell face flat on the mall floor. The sound of his body made me cringe. After realizing he fell, he groaned as he lifted himself up with his shoulders and blinked repeatedly like he was trying to wake up from a dream. He looked up, probably figuring out that it was not his fault that he fell.

Too bad for his beautiful face. It's now turning black and blue.

His hurt expression now turned into annoyance and his face raged in irritation. But when he was about to stand up and probably yell at me, he was stopped by two black suited men. He tried to elbow them but failed. He glared telling me with his eyes, I just messed with the wrong person, I shivered. I felt ashamed but instead of mouthing 'sorry,' I smirked at him feeling victorious.

What was I supposed to do? I was just helping. Hopefully.

The 'boss' person was heading towards us. Well, I was not going to wait for any ole conversations so I turned to walk away from this weird event. But as I did so, a low husky voice called out. "Miss."
Was he talking to me, probably not?

"Miss." This time he tapped me. So I turned around.

Don't look up, don't look up.

"Miss, I'm Nicholas Reed." He said as he held out his hand. I looked up to him to see his expression, smiling.

Holy Moly he is the billionaire from the papers. 

I shook his hand, "Nice to meet you, Mr. Reed," I smiled. The boy I tripped was just standing beside him, now walking away.

I tried to look over Mr. Reed's shoulders to see where they are bringing him. "I hope your not kidnappers because—" I was cut off before finishing because Mr. Reed started to laugh.

"He is my son do not worry," I sigh in relief that I wasn't just involved in a kidnapping.

Well he does have the same features as him. "As you can see his attitude is way different than mine, although I hoped we had more in common than our looks," I mocked the idea, "I'm not sure about that, I mean we all have issues and we face them in different ways, Mr. Reed and I think he is probably just running away from something or trying to forget something." I said while I looked at his reaction he just smiled.

"Well you are right that he is having problems—" I stopped him there, "I'm sorry to intrude but I don't want to get any personal matter I don't think he would agree with that," He smiled again.

What's with this man and his smile?

"But I do owe you a lot, what can I give an intelligent young lady in return for her kind actions?" I thought about it thousands of things pass through my mind but I knew that it was bad taking advantage of people.

"No I cant," I said politely as possible. "Oh that's is ridiculous a teenager wants the same things phone, dresses, cars and the like" he said.

How can he judge that way. Tsk, Tsk...

"I'm sorry but I must stop you there, not all teenagers are the same it seems like it but they only look like it because of the intense pressure of social media so every teen is forced to want the same things and be the same kind of people even though deep inside they just want to fit in and instead of buying the stupid ice cream because the girls call her fat she ends up buying a new phone just to be close with her 'friends," I make the quote on quote hand gesture, "and ends up being bullied and broken even though they only wanted the stupid ice cream. Don't you think?" I smiled at my great explanation. I mentally gave myself a pat on the back.

"Well I am very sorry for judging you Miss?" he asks probably surprised at my on the spot speech, "Scarlett," I answer, "Miss Scarlett I hope you don't get offended, you are very right though that I should not judge anybody,"

Wow. He actually listened. 

"Can I at least give an offer and you think about it?" He asks as he rubs his chin.

"I'm curious what's the offer?" I asked honestly.

What!? Like you wouldn't want to hear a billionaires offer. 

"Well as I observed you are really a nice girl Scarlett and I like you already, I mean you are very respectful,"

Ask my friends maybe you'll think twice about this respect thing.

"You don't judge people right then and there all the good things and my offer is to cut to the chase is that would you like to volunteer at a children outreach program?" He says and I get confused, "After the outreach there's this Masquerade Ball you will attend and you can have a great time, a small gesture of thank you from me, enjoy a day off."

Gotta help first then have fun. Seems fair. Not sketchy at all.

"I will think about it" that's all I could say, "Deal, the ball is in two days that's all the time you have Miss Scarlett," I nodded he excused himself to attend to his son while he gave me his calling card.

I went home after, extremely dazed at the event that just took place, completely forgetting about my book.

My mom and dad decided that it was fine to accept his preposterous offer and they also said it was my choice.

My parent always believed in what I always do so they wouldn't start doubting now. It was just volunteering. Or did it have further context? I disregarded the idea.

The following day I called Mr. Reed, at first it was his secretary, a sweet low guy voice and I was surprised then was given to Mr. Reed's calm and soft voice.

While we discussed the specifics of the event, I wondered.

I don't know his son's name. I'll be calling him flat face for the meantime. I smirked at the thought. Would he be volunteering as well? 

"Why did I care again?" I shook my head. I've been working my ass off for a year and a blessing is given to me in a golden platter, quite literally, and all I think about is, I mocked myself, "Would he be there too?" My voice sounded weird and I laughed.
My sister too busy in her world glanced at me when I laughed, "What's funny?" she asked. "You," my only response and she glared.

I guess I'll be going to a ball. Shit. 

"What do I wear!?"

At the school gym, Michelle began her rehabilitation inside the weight room while Kyla intently led her teammates to practice. Meanwhile, the basketball team coach sat down and observed the whole squad's body of work from the sidelines.

And here I was sitting still, my face sweating from the intense heat of the sun. It was a rather warm Wednesday morning with temperatures reaching well into the late 80's. 

Michelle's initial day of rehabilitation consisted of light arm exercises followed by 30 minutes of treadmill and bicycle workouts. So far, the journey has been okay for her.

Over on the practice court, Kyla and the team worked on their familiar routine. They naturally focused on all key aspects of the game, from shooting and passing to defense.

When practice ended, the coach called the whole team out for a huddle. Meanwhile, Michelle exited the weight room, her passionate face dripping with sweat but was nevertheless pleased with the exhaustive process.

"Tomorrow, we'll not have any practice," the coach faintly announced from afar. "But all of you should voluntarily attend a film viewing session so that we can properly discuss some strategies as well as possible improvements in our game. Did I make myself clear?"

"Crystal," the whole team shouted fiercely.

"Okay, we're dismissed for the day," the coach justly concluded. "Good luck on your academic studies."

After practice wrapped up, I walked directly near the dressing room to approach Michelle and Kyla. But first they promptly took a brief shower and changed to a fresh set of clothes.

Upon exiting the dressing room, Michelle and Kyla eagerly joined me near the office. However, as we carefully left the gym, Kyla suddenly received a text message from the professor.

"Christine, we'll go to the audio-visual room for philosophy today," she announced. "I'll forward this text to Claire as soon as possible."

Shortly after we proceeded straight to the campus where Claire anxiously waited on the bench. She stood up and gleefully greeted us.

Michelle, who had not met Claire up to that point, introduced herself and shook her hand. Claire, for her part, gave her a surprising admission she would never forget.

"You're schoolmates with Francesca and Corinna?" Michelle shouted to the point other students gazed intently towards her.

"Please keep it down," one of the students warned Michelle. She replied politely with a simple 'sorry'.

"Anyway, I did study in the same school as Francesca and Corinna," Claire proclaimed. "And in case you may not know, I already heard the news the other day about Corinna's suicide. Therefore let's leave it at that."

"Well, it was nice knowing you, Claire," Michelle concluded. "See you then."

And so Michelle left for her next class while Claire, Kyla and I moved straight for philosophy. As we spotted the elevator, a series of long lines awaited us.

The audio-visual room is located on one of the tallest buildings in the campus. It was constructed in a modern neoclassical style and has nine floors in all.

The room itself is located on the sixth floor. Going up there demands lots of time and patience.

While the iconic building does contain a staircase, it takes forever to climb the entire nine-floor structure. With that, Claire, Kyla and I opted to take the elevator, even if it naturally means waiting a little longer for the elevator to go down.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by dimmed lights and dark hallways. I saw a few students sitting down exhausted and weary after braving the stairway's endless amount of steps.

Inside the audio-visual room, the professor greeted a few guests on stage. But as they graced the entire class, my innocent eyes shockingly gazed at a familiar figure.

"It's aunt Cathy," I softly reacted with a bewildered look on my face. "What is she doing here?"

"What's the matter?" Kyla asked me. "Why are you stunned?"

"That was my aunt over there," I replied. "Her name is Cathy."

"Good morning class," the professor welcomed us. "Before we begin, kindly give me your printed assignments on Machiavelli."

Kyla opened her bag and willingly submitted our work to the professor. Returning to her seat, Kyla confidently assured us that we would earn a very good grade.

Just then, the professor introduced us to the day's panelists, one of whom is my own aunt. All three of them discussed  the philosophers' influence on their lives.

Cathy, in particular, narrated to the class her own fascination about Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz and his most famous quote: "We live in the best of all possible worlds."

"Class, what I believed in Leibniz should equally apply to all of you," she recalled. "The planet we live in now is not all that perfect; hence the 'best of all possible worlds' quote. Bad things could happen sometimes but then again the world is to a higher degree worth living for according to Leibniz."

Claire, Kyla and I took note of Cathy and other panelists' statements on our notebooks. It was tough to digest their opinions, but we somehow got the point.

As class was promptly dismissed, I cautiously approached my aunt regarding her sudden appearance in school.

"What are you doing here?" I respectfully inquired Cathy of her presence.

"Christine, I was cordially invited by your professor today," she thoughtfully replied. "Well, to tell you the truth, your professor and I were classmates in high school so it was only appropriate for us to reunite in this school at a perfect moment."

Just then, I called out my philosophy professor for a short talk.

"Sir, I need to disclose you something. Your classmate Cathy was indeed my aunt."

"Amazing," the professor amusingly reacted to my remarkable revelation. "I didn't recognize that. In any event, my next class is coming up and I may be late by now. See you next week then."

"What about Cathy?" I replied back.

"Don't worry," the professor smilingly assured me. "Your aunt and I will talk later."

"Ok then," I bade farewell to him. "See you."

Cathy naturally accompanied me, Kyla and Claire on the way down. But just as she was about to enter into a conversation, my smartphone suddenly vibrated.

"Sorry aunt, but my subsequent class is coming up right now," I politely informed Cathy. "Better wait for me then."

"No problem," Cathy earnestly assured me. "For now I'll go take a look at your campus. Personally, this place appears beautiful and pleasing at the same time. Come back to me afterwards, okay?"

"Sure," I happily concluded.

While Cathy toured the whole campus by herself, I walked directly to photography class where Michelle, Taylor and Erin were waiting eagerly at the door. As we entered the classroom, the projector was turned on while the lights were dimmed, perhaps anticipating a video was about to be played.

Christine, a 22-year-old college student, decides to open a blog and write a story about her tormented past.

At first i thought it was hyun wu but it was father i was scared and nervous because I didn't know what to say to him "well if you really wanted to know the truth come with me" he said so i followed him. We went to a place that no one was near.

I thought he was telling me a story but in fact that story was happening in real life

After hearing the truth I stopped for a moment and asked father
"Can i help you investigate"and he smiled. I was very happy that moment so i started to do some research about the queen
