I opened my eyes and adjusted my field of view, and woman in red sipping the golden tea cup in her jadeite hands greeted my view. I observed my surroundings and found out that I'm sitting on a crystal chair in front of this unearthly maiden. 

"I guess you have seen 1% of Rillian's memories?" The woman said without taking a glance at me.
"Yes, I have and who are you?" I looked at the woman icily and raised my vigilance.
"I am Brialle the world's guardian, I called for your help to pull Rillian away from her villainous self." Brialle calmly drank her tea without changing the tone in her voice.
"why did you choose me? im just an ordinary girl." After I said that she chuckled and said
  "Ordinary? which part? isn't because you offended the God of E-------" Brialle's image suddenly hazed and started to contort. 
"Brialle!" I reached out and get past her hologram image.
" Re-mber you a-e the h-pe o- th- -olds t- c-me" she reached out and then explode leaving multiple fairy dusts on the jade table. Shock suddenly flooded me, and a 'ding' like sound pop up, as the hologram of a contract, lit the gloomy atmosphere.

After hearing her big-brother speak of Diamond Academy, the next day Maria laid on her bed depressed, seeing how she just confirmed that she somehow had transmigrated into the reverse harem light-novel, A Fairytale Romance. Once that was confirmed, it only took connecting the dots to know which character her soul transmigrated into, which was that of the comic-relief female villain, Maria Rosendrey.
'At least my first name is still the same, but usually, when stuff like this happens, the soul is transmigrated into the main villainous boss, not a sub-villain, who no one in the series took seriously,' emerald eyes dejectedly stared up at the ceiling of her four-poster bed as she reflected back on the story.
In the light-novel, there was a character named Maria Rosendrey, a spoiled and bratty noble girl, who was so deeply obsessed with the male lead, a.k.a the crown prince, that despite how many cruel words he threw at her, she still chased after him. It was at this point that most readers labeled her for having a masochist fetish.
Throughout the story, Maria constantly chased after the male lead, only to fail time after time, and when she tried to attack the female lead, she failed at that too. None of the other villainous love rivals saw her as a worthy rival and competitor when it came to trying to steal the male lead.
Who, in Maria's honest opinion, wasn't worth that many girls fighting over him. Heck, she didn't even like the male lead! So what if the guy was handsome, wielded great powers, and was a prince! He wasn't her type, seeing how the guy was rude, arrogant, and expected everyone to fawn over him. Yet the fans ignored these flaws and sung praises for him!
Maria lost count to the number of times he had fallen for one of the evil plots set up by one of the love rivals, except Maria's, that always led to him breaking up with the heroine. And despite the female lead risking her life for him, explaining things to him with added proof, but not once did he ever listened to her. 
Which would then result in a long arc of them trying to reconcile their romance with the help of the other male leads who were in love with the heroine. It happened so much in the novel, that Maria remembered her original self stating that the heroine deserved a better male lead than the one given to her.
"Wait, usually in this type of situation, shouldn't I be worried about my bad ending?" Left alone in her room, Maria pondered over these things.
"Then again, now that I think about it, I never finished the story so I don't know if Maria gets a bad ending. Crap, this is bad! I don't even know my own bad ending!" The sat up on the bed and started to panic. "If I'm not careful, I'm gonna die! At a time like this, I need to come up with a plan!" Closing her eyes, a chibi Maria stood in front of two miniature versions of herself.
The one in the white dress with angel wings was Light Maria, the reasonable and positive part of her inner conscious while floating across from Light Maria dressed in a black leotard and devil wings was Dark Maria, the negative and evil part of her inner conscious.
"At a time like this, you must remain calm and not do anything too rash," calmy said Light Maria, only to have Dark Maria scoff at her words.
"Bull crap! I say we go find that little punk of a prince and show him that we are not someone to be messed with. Revenge! Revenge!" chanted Dark Maria, wearing a psychotic smile on her face.
"I'm not a genius doctor with peerless abilities or a badass assassin who can kill people in a matter of seconds. Sadly, I'm too much of a coward to go chasing after revenge. I want a peaceful and lazy life until if I'm stuck here," Maria instantly denied Dark Maria's suggestion.
"You're also not that smart and more of a dumbass than anything," mockingly added Dark Maria.
"I resent that!" angrily yelled Maria.
"Violence is not the answer!" interjected Light Maria.
"I haven't even thrown the first punch yet. But she is a dumbass! Remember that time she tried to cheat on a test, only to still fail it in the end," Hearing Dark Maria mention a dark aspect of her past made Maria cringe from embarrassment.
"Such a thing never happened!" 
Suddenly a knock on the door brought Maria out of her thoughts and back into the real world. Walking through the door was her beautiful mother, who was escorted in by her two loyal maids.
"Maria, how about we go and sit under the gazebo in the garden and have some tea," suggested her mother. Wanting to get out of bed and stretch her legs, Maria agreed.
Allowing her two maids, Shirone and Kuroka, to pick out her clothes and style her hair before going out. Half an hour later, Maria was presented in a full-body mirror,  and saw herself wearing a cute bowknot lace dress with a tutu style skirt; the hairstyle the maids had given her consisted of bun pigtails with the rest portion of her hair left hanging down behind her.
In all, Maria found that her appearance was cute, yet not overly cute. She had somewhat of an average appeal, which was a deep contrast compared to most of the heroine's love rivals who were all described as enchanting and drop-dead beauties.
'Poor Maria, you just can't win.' The soul trapped within couldn't help but pity the poor character. Once dressed, her two maids escorted her to the garden, which was filled with a varied range of vibrant and lovely flowers.
In the middle of the garden, sitting under the gazebo was her mother, enjoying some cake before she noticed her cute daughter making her way over. "Maria-chan! Come and join Mommy and her guest!" announced her mother; it was only when she got closer, did Maria notice the figure of a woman sitting across from her mother.
The woman was gorgeous, silky strands of crimson pool down her shoulder blades and extended farther down her waist like a blood river.  A glittering pair of sapphire hooded eyes peered in her direction and smiled gently at her.
The woman's looks were truly breathtaking, though what captured Maria's attention the most was those long and silky crimson strands. 'Her hair is so pretty~! I wonder if she would let me touch it?' Maria could never help herself when it came to long, pretty, shiny hair, resisting the urge of running over there and instantly began playing with the woman's hair.
She was so busy staring at the woman's hair that she wasn't paying attention to her footing and almost fell face-first to the ground until someone raced over and saved her. "Are you alright?" asked a concerned voice.
Looking up, Maria was met with a pair of sparkling sapphire blue eyes staring down at her. It was only then that she noticed holding her was a very handsome boy, who seemed at least two years older than herself. The boy's face had a slight feminine touch as soft crimson hair barely came to his shoulders.
'Hair the color of crimson and eyes that glitter like sapphire jewels... Wait a minute! This is the male lead's villainous cousin!'
Maria remembered that in the book the male lead had a villainous older cousin, who was determined to avenge his family, who was tragically murdered via one of the Empress evil schemes. 
At first, Maria recalled wondering why would the Empress murder his family, only to find out later that the Empress's first love was actually the Emperor's brother, who instead had fallen in love with a mysterious crimson-haired woman.
It seemed that even after she married the Emperor, the Empress was still upset that she couldn't be with the man she loved, so she plotted a scheme that would get the man she loved, along with his wife and child killed.
It was only thanks to the family's loyal butler that the son survived the tragic event, but afterward, he was never the same again. Since then he wanted nothing more than revenge and honestly, Maria couldn't blame him. She was quite sad to find out from spoiler forums that he died in the middle of the story, unable to fulfill his wish and was killed by the male lead.
Maria was so deep in her thoughts, that she was unaware when her large emerald eyes began expressing deep sadness that caught the boy by surprise. Maria was brought out of thoughts when she realized how everyone's attention was directed towards her.
Even back in her own world, Maria was never fond to be in the spotlight. Looking towards the crimson-haired woman, Maria blurted out the first thing that came to mind.
"I-I really like your hair!"
No one was expecting this to be her response; the crimson-haired woman herself couldn't help but laugh at such an honest response. "Maa, why thank you. I like your hair as well," she complimented the blushing little girl, who was drowning in her own embarrassment, unaware that her actions caused her savior to think she was quite cute.
"My clumsy, little Maria. This is Archduchess Raina Scarlet and her son, Richard," her mother introduced the two people, who would soon have tragic fates.
"Maria is quite adorable. I can't believe Alan would actually do something so harsh." It was evident that archduchess did not approve of the crown prince's actions, but Maria really didn't want her to do something that would most likely make her a target for his anger.
"Please do not worry about it. I'm also at fault. For now on, I promise to stay away from the crown prince as he wishes." In other words please, do not make things worse for me, archduchess. Yes, the crown prince is a jerk, but he is a jerk with a lot of power,' mentally voiced Maria. 
"I really don't get why the crown prince would be cruel to such a cute girl." The archduchess shook her head, though Maria didn't know whether to laugh or cry. The 'real' Maria or the one in the book was very spoiled and bratty, always pushing her affection onto the prince. So it made sense that he would detest her strongly.
'Step number one to staying alive, stay far away from the crown prince. He would only make my life worse,' Maria told herself.
"I know right! My Maria is the cutest girl in the empire yet he dares treat her so cruelly. Hmph, that crown prince definitely doesn't deserve my cute Maria-chan's affection." Maria could only sweatdrop at her overly-affectionate mother who was grumbling and pouting her lips like a child.
"How about Maria escorts me around the garden? I would like to spend more time with her," politely asked Richard, who really took after his mother in terms of appearance, inheriting both her crimson hair and sapphire blue eyes, wearing a sweet gentle smile on his face.
'It's such a shame that he ended up with such a cruel fate,' depressingly thought Maria. After making their way towards the rose garden, Maria exclaimed when she saw a beautiful large pink rose.
"So pretty~! This would make a lovely hairpin for mother!" exclaimed Maria, who excitedly began thinking of ideas of turning the rose into a hairpin to give to her mother.
Back in her own world, Maria remembered how she was fond of crafting DIY jewelry as a hobby to pass time. Now that she thought about it, if she was going to make a hairpin for her mother, she should probably make one for the archduchess.
Shyly looking at the boy beside her, Maria asked, "Does your mother have a favorite type of flower?" The two maids standing close by couldn't help but wonder what their young miss was planning.
"A favorite type of flower? That would be the Royal Passion." After hearing that, Maria told Kuroka, the neko-maid with the black hair, to find the flower and bring it back to her.
After instructing Kuroka, she turned to Shirone, the neko-maid with long white hair, and request a shortlist of items she needed. Once Shirone had left, Richard turned to her and asked,
"Just what are you planning to do with those items?" he curiously asked the young girl, who shot him a secretive smile.
"You'll see," 
Once all the items she asked for were brought to her, she set them all out on the white small table and began getting to work. Using old spare jewelry parts, she began crafting a hairpin for her mother first. Those standing behind her watched with awe in their eyes at the young girl's craftsmanship.
Gluing the large pink rose onto a plain gold hairpin, she added three gold chains onto the bottom of it. Dangling from each chain was a small pearl heart that she crafted together. Picking up a bright lavender camellia breed flower.
She repeated the same steps as she did for making the one for her mother, yet dangling from the bottom were amethyst gems in the shape of diamonds. Once she thought of the tragic fate which awaited the archduchess, she wanted to add a little something more.
On either side of the flower, she included a feathery lilac and dark purple feathers to one side and adorned it with several tiny sky-blue and indigo gems. Seeing the finished product of the archduchess's present, those standing behind her couldn't help but gasp.
"Ojou-sama, it's beautiful," complimented Shirone.
"Mother would definitely love it," said Richard.
"Thank you, though now that I think about it, I should probably add some more detail to mother as well."
Maria didn't want her mother feeling left out, so she also included a pink feather that fades into white and adorned it with several tiny pink gems. Once each hairpin was finished, she made her way towards the archduchess and her mother and presented both of their gifts.
"Maa, what a gorgeous hairpin~!" gasped Archduchess Scarlet, marveling the young girl craftsmanship. Meanwhile, Maria was suffocating from her mother's overbearing hug.
"My darling Maria actually made Mommy such a beautiful present! Don't worry my little darling, Mommy will wear it to show off your amazing craftsman skills!"
'Mother, I can't breathe!' wailed Maria, who was being suffocated by her mother large bosom
Making her way in front of the little girl,  Archduchess Scarlet patted  Maria softly on the head. "Thank you, Maria, for making such a lovely gift for me. Seeing you in person, I can tell that you are a pure-hearted and sweet girl. I will definitely repay you for giving me such a lovely present."
Staring up at the archduchess, whose smile was more beautiful than a fairytale princess, Maria thought that this world was unfair for the tragedy that awaited her. 'This nice woman does not deserve to die.'

One moment I'm chasing after a rabbit and the next, I'm falling down a rabbit hole! What the heck?! This ain't Alice in Wonderland?! Though as I opened my eyes, I soon found out that I was no longer in my original body and that somehow I transmigrated into the light novel, A Fairytale Romance. And that isn't all, the character whose body I transmigrated into... is none other than the minor stuck-up, arrogant, and selfless ojou-sama who was nothing more than a comic relief character. Life truly sucks...

Quirks. What are they? Where did  they come  from? How did humanity evolve to the point of having super powers? She didn't know. She would like to unravel that mystery some time though. Apparently people think rats were the cause. To think that rats are the ones to thank for the new society. She couldn't really wrap her head around it. 

Quirks. There are multiple types and such. But there are three main categories. Or is it four? Emitter. Transformation. Mutation. Is accumulation belonging to the three? Again she didn't know and didn't think about it too much. She couldn't think about it even if she wanted to. There were other things she needed to concern herself with. More important things she had to deal with even if she didn't want to. Her actions had consequences even though she was not aware of the actions that brought the consequences. 

She was staring down at her hands as the adults conversed. She wasn't paying any attention to them. She couldn't bring herself to. She knew that if she were to focus on them she would be feeling worse than she already was. She was sure if she played attention to the words being exchanged she would be in pain again. She didn't want to hear the accusations. The angered words of other parents. They were angry because of what she had done to their sons. She didn't mean to. She didn't even know what happened. One minute she was sure to get another burn the next she wakes up confused. The three boys were unconscious. Parents were called. A semi meeting was held with the headmaster of the school. 

When the boys woke up fingers were pointed. All at her. She was the bad guy. She had hurt them. She had started it all. No one ever tells the whole story. They never tell the parts where they are the villain. They didn't tell their parents about the bullying. They didn't tell them that they started it. That they backed her into  a corner. That they frightened her. 

What ever happened to them was their fault. She wasn't sorry. She didn't know what she did but it had an affect on the boys. She didn't care. They seemed afraid. Whenever they looked at her fear flashed in those eyes. She didn't care. She didn't care that she might have hurt them. She didn't care at all. In fact she would be more than content to learn that she had harmed them in some way. At least they would feel a sliver of what they put her through. 

She didn't care about them. She never will. She hated them. She hated them all. 

She was glaring down at her hands now. She made the mistake of focusing on the conversation. One of the boys accused her of trying to seriously hurt them. He said she had a villainous quirk. 

Look at him . Pointing fingers because he got a little scared. Whenever she looked at him he flinched. Was he really trying to make himself feel better by getting her in trouble? 

Villainous quirk. She never ran that thought through her mind. She had considered being quirkless. She had considered being given a weak quirk. She had considered being somehow gifted with a powerful quirk. She hadn't considered the possibility of a quirk that was doubted villanous.

What made a quirk villainous? 

Nothing really. She didn't believe in such a thing. The person with the darkest of quirks could become a hero. The person with the brightest of quirks can become a villain. It mattered not what type of quirk one had. 

One would note that the villains tend to have quirks society don't agree with. She couldn't remember seeing a villain with the power of the sun. Why? It's simple enough. Society is to blame. They see someone with a quirk that harnesses the dark. They fear it. They despise it. They dub it villainous. Because it's dark. It's dangerous. Because people don't like it. They fear it. They are uncomfortable because of it. So what do they do? They shun the person with said quirk. Belittling them. Isolating them. Treating them as lowlifes. 

If one is constantly being associated with something. If one is constantly being called a certain name. If one is always being told that is what they are. 

Why are people surprised when they actually become a villain? 

Why are humans like that? They create the very people that can and want to kill them. It is their own cruelty and ignorance that dooms them all. It's all their fault . They refuse to look deeper. To look past all that. All they do is judge and lable.

She hated it. 

She hated the very creature she was. She hated the way they are. So uncaring. So  cruel. So selfish. 

"She tried to kill us! " a boy accused. She didn't look at him. 

She tried to kill them? She didn't remember doing such a thing. She blacked out. She couldn't deny that statement because she didn't know what she did. For all she knows she really did try to kill them. It wouldn't be the first time she wished they were dead. A dark thought but not one she felt guilty about. The world would be a better place if  all the bullies just uoroed and died. 

The undeserving should perish. There was no need for them in the world. 

"Your daughter hurt our sons" a parent said angrily. Her glare directed at a calm Nozomi. Kuriko knew better. The woman was angry. The statement angered her. 

"I don't see any injuries. They're perfectly fine" she said. Her voice cool. She directed her attention at Kuriko. "My daughter on the other hand almost received another second degree burn from your son. What do you have to say about that? "

At the  mention of the burn Kuriko shifted. It wasn't as bad as the one on her wrists, but it still hurt. It would heal quick enough. The one highlight of her day. 

"This child should not be allowed to attend this school. Her quirk is dangerous. She traumatized our kids. How could she do such a thing?  She doesn't even seem sorry. "

Sorry? Sorry? What did she have to be sorry for? The boys were traumatized? Ha. She could laugh. They didn't know truama. They would not  last a minute  in her life. 

"How can you say such a thing when you don't even know what her quirk is. You don't know what she did. What tHey did. She doesn't know what she did. You can't just go around pointing fingers  like that"

"My son told me what she did, are you trying to say my son is a liar? "

"I said no such thing" Nozomi sighed and rubbed her temples. "Look. I'm sure this is just a big misunderstanding "

"My son is telling the truth"

"I never said he wasn't "

Kuriko was gripping her fist, clutching her hoodie. She wanted to leave. Just disappear. Vanish. If only they knew. 

She caught the eye of one of the hoys and he scooted closer to his mother. He was staring at her with hate and fear. Familiar emotions. 

"She's a monster. There was so much darkness. It was coming from her. She was nothing but darkness and then she sent it to us. We couldn't move and it was so cold and then there was nothing but darkness. And... And.. " the boy trailed off his voice trembling. "I was so scared. I wanted to die"

She looked at him. He wanted to die. She wanted to die. She wondered. Could she have quite possible made them feel what she had? Is that why they looked at her like that? She made them feel what she did and they still failed to understand her. In fact they seemed to dislike her even more.

They should suffer. 

She was looking at her hands again. She didn't listen to anything anymore. 

Someone insulted Nozomi. The mother said some very bad words about her. Some about Kuriko too. She didn't even know what took place she has no right to point fingers. Now she was insulting her mother? How dare she? Who does she think she is? She will never be half the mother Nozomi is. Nozomi is the most caring mother anyone can ask for. That woman knew nothing. She should not  insult her. 

Kuriko found herself pulling on Nozomi's shirt. She wanted to leave. This meeting was pointless. She'll get kicked out of the school anyway. It's best they cut this short and accept the inevitable. 

Nozomi sighed. 

"I think we all know where this is going" she said as she stood she picked up Kuriko, who hid her face with her hood. "She won't be attending this school anymore"

"She shouldn't be attending any school. She's a danger to everyone"

"Well maybe if you son didn't constantly bully her none of this would have happened. Kuriko was probably scared. Her fear must've triggered whatever happened. You keep digging into her and ignoring the fact that your son gave her second degree burns on her wrist yesterday and today he almost inflicted another on her. "

Nozomi didn't stick around to hear the woman's reply.

Kuriko was seated in her car seat with a book in hand. Nozomi had given her one in hopes she'll be distracted. The girl obviously wasn't reading it. She was staring out the window with emotionless eyes. She didn't know what she did. Nozomi didn't know what she did, but it effected the boys negatively. Nozomi was getting  better at reading Kuriko. She could tell that she was not sorry. She may not know what she did but she was not sorry about it. 

Nozomi sighed. She didn't know how to feel about that. 

She glanced at her through the rearview. Darkness. She was darkness. What had the boys meant by that?  Was she literally taken over by darkness? Was she emitting darkness? She didn't know. It didn't sound good. 

What could her quirk possiblely be? 

"Kuriko"

The child looked away from the window. Blue eyes meeting red ones. She displayed no emotions in those eyes.

"I'm taking you to see my sisters. They can help, ok? "

Kuriko nodded. She had already decided that she would not resist meeting friends and family of Nozomi. If those people meant something to her then she would have to meet them. It would make Nozomi happy. Nemuri was really nice and she was just a friend. Her sisters shouldn't be all bad. 

Kuriko didn't understand why people couldn't  just be as kind as Nozomi and Nemuri. Why can't everyone be like that? The world would be a better place. 

But instead the world is cold and dark. The lucky few don't get to see this world. The real world. They are shielded from it . Being fed illusions. The unlucky know exactly what it's like out there. One cannot be weak. Weakness is your downfall. 

She directed her gaze back out the window. Those boys that bullied her. They always bragged about being a hero in the future. They want to be heroes. People praise and encourage them. They can make it as heroes because their quirks are strong. 

Is that what the world has come to? 

Them as heroes. The very same boys that bullied her for being different. For being weak. They wished to become protectors of the innocent. 

She realized that there are most likely a lot of heroes out there that don't care about the people. What they care about is the money and fame. People could die on their watch as long as they get paid. As long as people know them. As long as they have power. 

Power. Those with power ruled  over those without. 


If she wanted people to acknowledge her. To listen to her. She would need power, wouldn't she? 

The world is pathetic.

Nozomi is a member of the Sano family. A well respected family that own a big business. A business  that specializes in multiple fields. It is a family operated business with a member of the family in each department. Nozomi is in research and development. In other words she's head of the division that deals with support tech and such. 

Kuriko learned that Nozomi was part of three sisters. Three sisters that were born on the same day. Triplets. Kuriko was not informed of this. She figured it out once she found herself inside one of said sister's house. She was seated on the floor. She didn't tend to sit on chairs for reasons unknown. She had her book and was not  entirely focused on the conversation the three held. 

They looked very alike. They were identical. The only way to tell them apart is their way of dressing and  their hair. Nozomi's silver hair was past her waist and left loose. She always wore her hair like that. One of her sisters had shoulder length hair in a bob cut. 

The other had mid back length hair that was  pulled into a pony tail. 

They all had red eyes. They all stood at the same  height. They all had fair skin. They all had an hour glass figure. They all had the same smile. 

Identical, safe for the hair and clothing. 

Someone touched her and she flinched. The hand immediately pulled away. She met worried red eyes. They were not  the eyes of Nozomi. One of her sisters. The one with short hair. 

"I'm sorry for frightening you" she apologized with a soft voice. She positioned herself next to Kuriko, yet at a safe distance as to not make the child uncomfortable. "I'm Noriko "

Kuriko only nodded in response. She relaxed a little. She had kind eyes. Like Nozomi. 

"I have a healing quirk and wish to heal your wounds"she explained gently as she carefully took a small hand in her own. Kuriko didn't resist. She felt comfortable around the woman even though they had just met. She didn't tend to get comfortable around others. Not so easily. But the woman had the same eyes as Nozomi. The eyes she came to know and the ones she was used to. Soft, gentle and caring. 

Her bandages were removed. When Noriko saw her wound she frowned in worry and slight anger. She didn't let much anger show. Nozomi had informed her that Kuriko tends to get anxious when someone is angry. She carefully placed a hand on the wound. Kuriko winced and she tried to reassure her. There was a faint glow coming from her hand as her quirk did it's job. Slowly the burn started to fade, taking the pain with it. When she finished it was completely gone. There was no scar. No change in pigments. No pain. It was gone completely. 

Her other wrist soon followed. Kuriko was left staring at her completely healed up wrist. They didn't hurt when she twisted them or added pressure. There was no scar. She was sure she would have another. One more painful reminder, but there was nothing. 

Noriko proceeded to heal the mild burn on her collar bone and neck, leaving Kuriko completely healed for the day. 

"There, perfectly healed" Noriko adjusted the child's hoodie once finished. "I'm sorry you could not come see me for past injuries. I was not present in Japan at those times"

So that's why. Kuriko was wondering why Nozomi did not bring her to her  sister in the first place. She hated the hospital. She would much rather Noriko fix her up. 

"How are you feeling kid? "

It was the other sister. The one with the pony tail. She was dressed in a business suit for some reason. She looked a bit intimidating, but she had the same eyes as her sisters. 

Kuriko nodded to her. She had unconsciously signed as well and apparently the woman understood. 

"That's good" she smiled brightly and fished something out her jacket pocket. She pulled out a chocolate bar and crouched in front of Kuriko. "Here, I love these things. Hopefully they cheer you up"

Kuriko accepted the candy bar. 

"A gift from your aunt Natsumi"

Nozomi was smiling as she watched Kuriko interact with her sisters. She still had her usual apprehension but she was more relaxed around them than she was others. She was happy to introduce them.

Why were they so cruel ? Why did they have to treat her differently just because she was different? It wasn't her fault. She didn't choose to be this way. She didn't choose to be different. It wasn't her choice. So why? Why was she being treated as if she brought this on herself? Why was she treated as if she did something wrong? She never hurt anyone. She never did any wrong. 

So why? 

Simple. She came to realize that the word was a cruel place no matter how much they tried to disguise it. 

If the world didn't care about her, why should she care about the world? 

No mater what she did, no one would hear her anyway. 

She was voiceless

Xia Ning and the group arrived in the studio city yesterday and stayed a night nearby, so they came in early. However, there were quite a few people when they arrived.
Seeing Xia Ning, Director Li who was arranging everything on site walked over. "Xia Ning, you are here."
Xia Ning smiled and greeted back, "Director Li."
Director Li was a famous TV show director in the country. He was about 50 years old and had a gentle personality. He was not a rigid person, but he had his own pride. Xia Ning was in one of his TV dramas playing the third leading role. After that, he said he would ask her to play the leading role for his next drama. It sounded like conventional courtesy, but after over half a year, he actually reached out to her.
The two shook hands. Director Li looked at her and sighed, "Look at you, you have such light-colored skin, but how come you attract so much dirt? This worries me so much that I feel like I'm about to have heart attacks."
"It is what it is. You can't fight everything." Xia Ning smiled. "But thanks Director Li for trusting me."
"It is me who should thank you for free publicity for the show. Haha!" Director Li laughed and said.
Xia Ning smiled slightly. She understood Director Li's feeling. Actually, the show should have started filming a month ago. But right before the starting day, there was news about the leading actor involved with drugs. They had to stop filming and host auditions again. And finally, the new leading actor was now ready. However, when the filming was about to start, it was said that there was some issue from the investors.
After some small talk, Director Li went to do other things. Xia Ning found a place to sit down and started reading the script.
This was Xia Ning's fourth show after her debut, but her first time as the leading actress. It would be a lie to say she had no pressure on her.
Her first TV appearance was a drama in the period of the Republic of China 'Glorious Chang'an' directed by Director Li. She played the role of the male lead's first wife, a lady from a famous family. In the show, she put the female lead through a lot of difficulties. She was abandoned by her husband in the end and killed herself in humiliation. Even though it was a villainous role, Lu Qing said the reviews were good. People said she was able to show the hatred, anger, and cruelty of a wife when betrayed by the husband, and everyone took compassion on her story. 
Even if it was a cheesy story about the ups and downs of an overbearing warlord falling in love with the enemy's daughter, it was well liked by the audience. Plus, the original book had a big range of fans. After it was played, the rating went up to the top of the list. Even now, there was still excitement around it.
The second show was an urban fashion drama. She played the role of the younger sister of the male lead, the third female leading role. She was a spoiled and stubborn young lady. But this role was very brave in love and hate and was more candid than the indecisive female lead.
The third one was a fantasy wuxia show. It was adopted from a book too. She played the role of a fairy who lived for thousands of years. It was a small role and did not show up for more than 15 times in the entire show. But this fairy was not only highly skilled, but also very beautiful and other-worldly, and was even more popular than the heroine in the original fiction. But the show would not air until the second half of the year. She really did not think it was going to be quiet then.
As for the movie 'Chasing', that was the first work after her debut. Back then, the agency wanted to make her popular, so they had to bundle her with Lin Nan to let her play a part. Luckily, her acting skills were recognized. Otherwise, the trolls would have something else to say.
"Sister Xia Ning, Sister Xia Ning, look, that's Zheng Haodong." Wen Jing ran over to Xia Ning and said in excitement, "I heard he is the male lead!"
Xia Ning moved her eyes from the script to Wen Jing. She saw her getting overly excited, and was a bit speechless. Come on, it was she who told her about Zheng Haodong being the male lead. She followed Wen Jing's eyes and glanced over. A tall and handsome man was surrounded by the crowd. Zheng Haodong started out as a singer and had won quite a few music awards. He also played in a few idol dramas, and the reception was overall positive. He could be considered as one of the most popular actors now, but she did not think he was that handsome.
Maybe it was because she had seen that dazzling beauty before. After that, everyone else seemed dull.

Ever the professional, she nodded in agreement and politely bid me follow her. While leisurely walking deeper into the notable building, she begins to voluntarily give me a condensed history lesson on the Alchemy Association. She ended her summary as we arrived at an elaborate set of open double doors.

At a quick glance, it appears to be either a small library or a large study. Noticing my questioning look, she answered, "This is the Apprentice's Study. Novices and Primary Apprentices typically utilize this room for building on their alchemy foundation."

Leading me to an alcove by the entrance, she sweeps her arm to indicate the small area. She states, "This section contains all the knowledge an aspiring apprentice needs to prepare themselves for the Apprentice Examination. Here you will find the required books, references, and the Alchemy Association's collection of soul force control techniques."

"Soul force control technique?" You had my interest, but now you have my attention!

"Well, yes. Soul force control is extremely vital for pill forging. Failure to swiftly and accurately manipulate the pill forge inscriptions causes more failures than anything else." the Alchemy Apprentice carefully explains. 

"Thank you. You have been a tremendous help." I can't prevent a large smile from breaking out. My excitement level is rapidly climbing as I review the possibilities perfect soul control would bring. 

With a more content smile, she departs after telling me I can find her at the front entrance if I have any more questions. 

Swiftly moving to the shelves holding the soul force control manuals, meticulously going through the shelves to prevent one escaping me. There must be nearly one hundred manuals. As I eagerly absorb them, I'm carefully scanning their flaws.

After carefully checking to ensure I've collected all of them, I seamlessly transition to the Library of Heaven's Path and attempt to compile a soul force control technique. Soon, I am standing before an unassuming book. Gently taking hold of the book, I call for its flaws.

With a smile like the Cheshire Cat, I think to myself, it's not a perfect technique, but it's perfect for my plan.

At only a few dozen pages, I quickly read through my new golden egg. Just reading through it I'm able to tell it's a powerful technique, but it doesn't deliver the awe-inspiring feeling like a Heaven's Path book typically does. Regardless, this is more than adequate for my purposes.

After a few read-throughs, I return to the study and finish absorbing all the books in the room. Before long, all the books in the Apprentice Study have been absorbed. 

Looking around the room for any books I might have missed, I'm struck with a thought. Gazing at the room as a whole, an idea begins to take shape. 

This is a room dedicated to beginners. To allow beginners to build a foundation in the art of alchemy. So that they may begin their journey on the dao of alchemy. 

This should be possible! Finding myself in the now-familiar sea of bookcases, I command "Alchemy." As expected the formed book contains dozens of flaws. Releasing the flawed Alchemy book, I concentrate on what I want. With a solid idea in mind, I command "Alchemy Fundamentals!"

Crossing my fingers, I talk hold of the slender book and check for flaws.

Clamping down on my excitement, I set to task.

Merging those three with my Heaven's Path book of Flexibility gives me Heaven's Path of Initiate Body Cultivator!

With a shout of victory, I am indescribably happy! With an insatiable urge to high-five someone, I'm forced to smack a book on the top shelf while doing my best Rick Flair impersonation! Purging that from my system, I'm finally able to calm down.

With this, I can breathe a bit easier. Soon I'll be in a position to actually put up a resemblance of a fight in the unlikely event I'm attacked. I've hated the feeling of walking on eggshells in a city of cultivators. Just knowing I would be at the mercy of any Bronze rank feeling piety or villainous has undoubtedly increased my paranoia. While a Fighter is unlikely to win against a Demon Spiritualist, at least I'll be in a much better position to flee. 

Exerting a herculean amount of willpower, I place my ticket to power to the side and exit the Library of Heaven's Path. I purposefully walk to the building entrance looking for the Alchemy Apprentice that escorted me to the study room. Sighting her standing behind a desk reading a worn book, I school my face and confidently approach her.

She's somehow able to mark her place in her book and place it down all while turning to face me directly. Politely ignoring this little display, I bring forth my idea.

"Pardon me once again ma'am, but I would like to know the Alchemy Associations protocol for purchasing alchemy manuals and techniques."

Her face morphs into a blank look for several seconds before she's able to shake it off and resume her professional look. She was definitely not expecting that. I wait patiently for her answer.

"I would have to inquire about that myself. Could you inform me of the nature of your item for purchase?" The reluctance followed by skepticism from those two sentences could be felt across the room. I can't blame her, with the condition of my clothes; most would assume I come from a commoner family.

"After reviewing the low-quality soul control techniques in the Apprentice's Study, I wish to sell my family's own technique. I can assure you, it is much more powerful than anything I've seen here yet."

The skepticism is still there, but a bit a curiosity is now present in her reply. As I take a seat to wait for her to return from speaking with a Master Alchemist. I busy myself with reviewing the flawed soul control technique a few more times. Shortly, I begin wondering if the Library of Heaven's Path can create an initiate level technique for soul force control as well. I'll have to test that once I return to my dorm room, I can't afford distractions before I close on this deal.

Eventually, she returns and escorts me to a room where three elderly men sit wearing white robes. These must be master rank alchemists. A brief introduction confirms my suspicions. I take the initiative and drive hard with my prepared sales speech. I quickly list a few vital benefits for an alchemist to own the most advance soul force control technique possible. Just to show them I understand the potential value of what I'm offering.

As I'm moving to close this deal, I'm interrupted by one of the Master Alchemists, "Perhaps you could allow us to take a look at this profound technique?"

"I'll do something better. I'll guide you three through it right now." Before they can refute my offer, I begin reciting the soul force control manual in a smooth and calm voice. The masters only hesitate for a moment before they begin to follow my instructions. There are no complaints when I begin guiding them a second time, and judging by the looks on their faces this deal is all but sold.

I allow them to take a moment and gather themselves before we get into the negotiations. Putting on my poker face and finding a comfortable spot on my chair, I'm ready to play hardball. They have another thing coming if they think they can low ball me. It's game time.

"Now that you've experienced my technique first hand, let's talk price." 

The master sitting in the center looks to the other two and after getting nods from them, he focuses his attention back on me. Hit me with your best shot old man. 

"The Alchemy Associations is willing to offer you one million demon spirit coins for your soul force control technique." the elderly master states.

"Deal!" 

It takes me a moment to realize I'm standing before the elderly master with my hand extended. The room falls completely still as the masters are blinking their eyes at me as I awkwardly stand before them. My face feels like it's on fire, and I'm wishing for something to happen to take the attention off of me.

Resolving myself to being an idiot. I try salvaging some of my dignity. "I also require full access to all of the Association's book collections. And I'll need something to carry the money in." I mumble out.

The elderly master I'm standing in front of stands and clasps my hand. "The Alchemy Association accepts your terms."

I ignore his twitching lip and make another request. "I would like half of the demon spirit coins to be anonymously donated to the Glory City Central District Orphanage."

The elderly master's lip instantly stops twitching, and he takes on a somber persona. He stares into my eyes for a moment before nodding his head and stating, "I'll personally handle it."

A 20 year old fan of fanfiction is transmigrated into an orphaned teen in the middle of Glory City. Follow him as he's forced to deal with hidden dangers, evil villains, and the dreaded puberty. 

This is my first novel, so expect some mistakes. I'll try to make corrections when seen. Reworked the first six chapters.

I'm doing this for my own personal pleasure. I have a family and a job that requires me to work most weekends. I hope to produce two chapters a week, provided life allows.

'So I didn't teleport to the Terror Infinity movie world...' After a little regret, Shu Yidan checked the new prompt only to find a 'Loading…' displaying.

Finally, a robotic AI voice resounded [Congratulations, host. Villainous Plot Halo Splitting System is activated! Cleave through the plot armor, split the plot halo and behead the hero!]

Seeing the new system that appeared before his eyes, Shu Yidan realized that his cheat had appeared.

'So I was a villain all along, huh…?' Thinking this, he stared at the profile that was before him.

Seeing that the skills he gained from the 250 years of life he spent in the earlier timeline didn't carry over to the profile, Shu Yidan was a little surprised but quickly shifted attention.

Checking his profile again, he checked Negative Status. Clicking and calling it out didn't bring anything. But Shu Yidan wasn't worried – even the Immortal Sect Founder couldn't make heads or tails of what crippled him.
After the system was 'unlocked', perhaps he could come to know of this mysterious ailment. Shu Yidan once again look at the profile.

Looking at the 'Protagonist to Behead' section, Shu Yidan's face turned pensive. 

A protagonist was the leading character of the work. If the world of cultivation Shu Yidan had transmigrated to was a book, then the focus of it was the protagonist.
A protagonist was loved by the World. Fate was by his side, enemies would fall into pitfalls and allies would flock to him. Most importantly, it was outright impossible to kill him under the grace of the World.

An image appeared in his mind as Shu Yidan thought. The hated enemy who Shu Yidan sacrificed his life to kill. An ordinary person who could be disregarded in the start and yet had become his nightmare in the end.

"Yang Yi…!!" Shu Yidan gritted his teeth. "That guy was certainly the protagonist in the past timeline. Bastard, he killed the Eighth Generation Sect Master and tried to exterminate the sect so many times…"

Rising from an ordinary mortal to a guy possessing many beautiful Dao Companions, numerous treasures and countless legacies… Yang Yi lived an extraordinary life. Early on, Yang Yi and Shu Yidan had a conflict and thus, Shu Yidan's fate to become a stepping stone for him was set…

The battle should have been lopsided, the entire world against one man. Even so, Yang Yi survived. No rather, he thrived in such danger. Always finding hidden ruins and legacies, his strength rapidly rose. Even if the world was hunting him down, he was like a wolf in the dark forest, the king of hunters. With his family safe, he could freely stand against the world.

So in the end, Shu Yidan could only attack Yang Yi's single weakness. After divining the secret Minor Realm where his family was hidden, the decision was made to ruthlessly attack Yang Yi's Dao Companions and family. To stop further complications, Shu Yidan blew up the entire Minor Realm and sent all life in that world to extinction.

With everything he loved being destroyed, Yang Yi's Dao Heart made a breakthrough and he revealed himself to attack Shu Yidan. After a battle too long to describe, Shu Yidan somehow killed him before dying himself.

'If the grace of the World was the 'Plot Halo', wasn't his System designed to destroy it? Like this, opposing even a Protagonist wasn't impossible!' Thinking this, Shu Yidan's heart started beating with renewed vigor.

Saying Yang Yi's name didn't cause the SYSTEM to react and the profile didn't show any changes. Even so, Shu Yidan was convinced Yang Yi was the reason he timetravelled and got this system. Maybe the someone felt annoyance at that cockroach and gave him this system to kill him and others of his breed?

Thinking this gave Shu Yidan some satisfaction.

Looking at that status, he smiled. Since he was titled Proactive Initiator, it surely meant that he should make a move now!

Without paying further attention to the system, he immediately began planning.

Defeating Xiaoyi would bring him easy rep with the Sect Master. Mission B was basically a reward-booster for Mission A. However, Mission A was too terrifying. Defeating Xiaoyi would be impossible without using magic instruments and talismans, and using them meant admitting inferiority in cultivation. If he dared use them, accusations of 'nursing killing intent towards his fellow apprentice sister' would occur as well. 

Xiaoyi was a sword cultivator with the bloodline of a Sword Immortal. Basically that meant that she had protagonist-surpassing powers in regards to battling above cultivation ranks. If not for being a girl, she might have been the Hero he was opposing.

But Shu Yidan wasn't too worried about her. Xiaoyi was still a musclebrained idiot. Despite being crippled, he still defeated her in the battle for the Sect Master's position in the past timeline. He could take her, no problems.

The bigger problem was Feng Shiyao, his Dao Companion. She had an amazing bloodline called Nine-Yin Purple Cauldron. Do you know how xianxia heroines with Yin bloodlines all boost cultivation when fucked by a guy once? Like that, there were nine chances of boosting cultivation by fucking Feng Shiyao nine times!
She was the 'Cultivation Boost Elixir *9' secret rare item in human form! 

Anyway, Shu Yidan's grandpa realized this and immediately engaged him and Feng Shiyao. The two bound themselves as Dao Companions, and his predecessor took her virginity to breakthrough Golden Core realm.

The problem was that in his predecessor's memories, the memory of their night together was missing. In fact, he realized that his predecessor minimized all sorts of interaction with her. He even began taking pills as drugs after that night. 
It was likely that the 'night together' was a trauma for his predecessor. 

Thinking this, Shu Yidan completely ignored Feng Shiyao in the past timeline. Feng Shiyao didn't take being abandoned lying down. While ultimately her efforts to pull Shu Yidan down didn't materialize as he still successfully became the Sect Master, Shu Yidan decided that he might as well throw her a bone this time around.

The problem was that they were Dao Companions. Sweet talking her wouldn't help. Throwing treasures wouldn't help.

No, he would have to do the very act that traumatized his predecessor and drove him to drugs.

…He would have to man up and fuck her.

"Okay so since that's settled, we're gonna send you there the painful way for saying the truth and embarrassing me. Any complaints?"

"Nah, but what was the truth?"

"K...ki...kin...kinks..."

"Oh I was joking about that, but okay."

Their face turned red from anger. They pointed at me and yelled: "TRUCK-KUN, RUN OVER HER!"

Wait- Is that the infamous Truck-Kun!? He exists!? And he working with this bitch/bastard!? 

I turned my face to the side and saw some guy (I assume Truck-kun) jump up  high and transform into a truck. 

My eyes want to stop working from the sight of that happening, but Truck-Kun might do it for me! I stood up and tried to run, but I was pinned down by guilt about shitting on someone's game. Why do I feel guilty! It was bad anyway- oh no he's coming-

"OH AND BECAUSE YOU REALLY MADE ME MAD, YOU'RE GONNA BE THE HEROINE!"

"NOOOOOO" I screamed.

My eyelids fluttered open and there I was, in the game. I sat up and looked around. 

The bed is very comfortable, as expected of a private high school. I should just stay on my bed all day, but then I would get in trouble.

So this is what the heroine's dorm room looks like... I never saw it in the game since she was always dragged into the other character's dorm rooms. Poor heroine, barely even seeing her room. 

I took a deep breath and started to mutter: "I vow to not be taken advantage of, and to not be a meek. I will even become the villain to the villainous and male leads if I must."

Now, it's time to figure out which part of the game I'm in. The setting is a private high school that's from some time in the past, usually for the nobility, but the heroine got a scholarship due to her superior grades. Typical storyline. 

I just might succeed in my vow just by being me! I'm not a supposed genius like the heroine is, my voice is loud, and I'm not the nicest girl around. 

If I'm in the beginning of the game then I have an advantage due to knowing what happens and when the heroine meets who. Hopefully I'm in the beginning, wouldn't really make sense for me to be in the middle or the end now would it. 

There are two usual methods to doing this:

1) Stay away from male leads and villainous at all costs. The route that most leads take in the novels I've read about this.
2) Be super nice and normal so that everyone likes you (only used in if reincarnated as villainous situations).

However, since I'm the heroine I might have some predetermined targets on my back, the first being the villainous. The villainous is the fiancé of the crown prince, who starts having eyes for the heroine she bumped into him at the hallway.

Either I befriend the villainous to get on her good side, or if I bump into the crown prince I tell him to screw off. I think I'll try the first idea, I don't want to be on a royal's bad side. Another way could be to be normal and live out high school in this world. 

However, there's a problem with the first idea, it's that the villainous is hot, so I'll probably get distracted around her a lot. Along with the fact that since she's pretty high in the hierarchy, it'll be hard to get to her. She's also the crown prince's fiancé, so I might get close to him on accident.

I'll try the last idea. 

Let's live out high school normally even though the internet and most things I take for granted don't exist!

I was suddenly hit by a truck while breaking quarantine. Then I got reincarnated into the otome game I quit because I hated the heroine options and the male leads! 

I vowed to not be meek and to not rely on the male leads, I can survive on my own!

After going around the room for one last time to make sure I had taken everything into the spacial dragon heart ring, I closed the entrance door of the room. Once outside with Ella I noticed elaborate designs of a city with incredible infrastructure of buildings, lakes and mountain top castles carved into the black lead like door. 
' It would have been so much better if I had found myself in a city like that instead of a dungeon ', I thought to myself. I shouldn't complain though, I had at least survived for more than a day , if my sense of time is still working properly, and I have a even if very small, some chance of survival in the future, unlike the boys who came to this world before me. 
Shit! Why does everything remind me of that incident?

" Master, you look tensed. I totally understand having to face the respawned Laugan again. But this time I am there with you. I have a plan, I shall engage the monster while you use your long ranged spells to damage him and confuse him so that I can land the final blow to his magic crystal. "

Magic crystal? This world's similarly with a video game creeps the hell out of a scientist like me. 

I treaded along behind Ella who was leading us to the 2000th floor to face 'Laugan' if I heard her right.
I hadn't noticed before but the armour was actually quite heavy. I just wanted to throw it away but that would reduce my chances of survival drastically. So I put up with it.

Ella suddenly stopped in her track and said,
"This is it, master. Beyond this doorway lies the 2000th floor. Are you ready?"

' I don't think I will ever be' I said to myself. 

"Let's go", I said as I gulped down saliva through my throat.

"Yes!"

Ella pushed open the heavy golden door which was almost ten meters tall. We entered inside the dark room on the other side of the door and as soon as we did, the door slammed shut. It reminded me of those scenes from horror movies where a little girl enters a old room inside a mysterious house and the suddenly closes tight all by itself. Then the candles by the edges of the room would slowly light up, bringing the face of an horrific ghost to sight. As I thought of that, flame torches like the one in the treasury lit up in a sequencial order starting from the far end of the room and illuminating towards us. The torches were almost six to seven meters apart so with every torch lighting up a huge part of the room got illuminated. 

And then the final torch the one just behind us, lit up. Then..... I saw a large shadow being formed by my not so large body. *Pause* Oh shit! The shadow raised a large sword over its head. And *BHAM* Ella kicked me in the side to sent me flying leftwards and she jumped out to the right. And exactly where I had been less than a second ago the gigantic red sword fell forming a crack on the floor almost twenty feet long with a sound of a thunder dropping down on earth sending a shockwave across the room. 'That could have split my head in half ! ' -was the first thought I had after I realised I was still alive. I literally froze still due to the fear.

Ella quickly moved and stood between me and Laugan. Laugan looked like 25 feet tall royal monster knight in every aspect. He had silver armour, a bloody red giant sword in one of his hands and a legion like long rectangular shield in the other which seemed to be attached to the gauntlet of his left hand. He wore a silver helmet which had long vertical slits in them through which two rage filled red dots stared at us. On top of his helmet were two holes pierced through by his two long bull like horns.

"Master let's stick to the plan" ,Ella whispered softly. Then she screamed at the armoured monster, " FIGHT ME !".

I doubt it understood what she meant but the monster roared in return and shot towards Ella. He should be no less than a ton for his size but he closed the gap between himself and Ella in a split second. He raised his great sword up into the air and swung it down. Ella amazingly saw that coming and doges it by a hair breadth. Then
she stretches her hand to her side and then a thin long golden sword materialised out of nowhere.

"Whoa!"

"Master start your spells". Saying that, she dashed towards Laugan. She went straight for the abdomen with the first strike however Laugan blocked it with his shield and sent her flying by pushing her away with his shield. 

At the same time I began preparing my totem. When I hovered my hand over the top head of the totem, it seemed to activate and the eyes of the dragons lit up with different colours. Then I heard a voice in my head.
" Totem of the Eleven Dragons has been activated. Do you wish to use it?"
"Yes", I whispered to myself. 
" No magic found. Add spells to be casted."
Add spells? It means to feed it with scrolls right? But which magic scroll should I use? I don't know the spells that exist. As I wondered about it for a second I went for 'Fireball' because it is one of the most basic fire type spell I can think of. So a spell called fireball must be there. I thouched the spacial dragon heart and said ," Fireball spell scroll". The ruby-like heart shined and in its light appeared a scroll. Now I had to feed it to the totem. Obviously I didn't know how but, the dragons seemed hungry so I kept the scroll near the mouth of one of them. Suddenly the scroll caught fire and turned to ash only to be sucked into the mouth of the dragon with the red eyes.
" Magic found. Would you like to use Fireball?"
"Of course"
A small red circle which looked like a wheel with inscriptions on it appeared infront of me. I aimed it towards the monster and as soon as Ella distanced away from him I shouted "Fireball!". A ball of fire of about the size of a football was released from the circle and hit the monster's left right arm. 
"Yes! Yes! Yes!", I was delighted at getting a hit in on my first try. However Laugan didn't even notice the fireball hitting his arm. 

"Master? A beginner spell? That won't do any good. You need at least a tier 4 spell to damage him. "

" I don't have the time to feed the totem with selected tier 4 spells." I replied.

" Just put the entire book in !"

Heh? I can do that. I touched my ring again and said, " Book on fire type spells". A dozen of books appeared before me. I randomly picked one and the others vanished. I kept the entire book near the dragon's mouth and the book caught a dazzling fire.
 
"Many spells have been detected. Do you wish to use them?"

Even tough I was in middle of a probably deadly battle, my scientific attitude kicked in. I wanted to experiment with the capabilities of the totem.

" Use all the spells read."

"Error. Not enough mana."

You would think that I felt sad just then but notice what the totem just said. It said 'not enough mana' not ' not possible'. I put on a wide grin. 

"Totem use all tier 4 spells detected"

"Error. Not enough mana."

Hehe. Looks like my expectations were too high. 
Let's try single spells.

" Release random tier 8 spell"

"Failed. Not enough skill"

"Tier 7"

"Failed. Not enough skill"

"Tier 6"

"Failed. Not enough skill"

"Tier 5"

"Activating 'Plasma jet'. Take your aim"

Yeah! So I am capable of using tier 5 spells. I took my aim and said "Release" as soon as Ella moved out of the way. A blast of super hot plasma shot off like water from a hydron pump, from the bigger magic circle which had five wheels. Probably the number of wheels in the circle depict the tier of the magic.

The jet incoming to Laugan heated the air around us and melted the floor above which it was moving even though it wasn't actually touching the ground. Laugan put his shield for defence. The plasma came in contact with his shield. A bright light was all I could see. When it came down, I saw Laugan's  shield which was silver had turned black at the spot where the plasma had hit. Other than that there were no other signs of damage. I was both happy and disappointed. But the happiness was in a higher proportion. I was initially scared of facing a monster , but now i feel like it's fun. I put another villainous smile across my face.

" Laugan, Laugan. The game has just begun."
I evily laughed at the beautiful rhyming couplet I made.

Kai Kasugi, a young scientist is assigned a job to research a portal which suddenly appeared in Tokyo, which connects two worlds. The portal takes a person to a random destination. The scientist team which was assigned the work decides to send someone to the other side. But after a series of events Kai is betrayed my his fellow scientists out of jealousy and he is forcefully thrown into the portal. Kai falls into despair realizing that his life has now ended but little does he know that to his luck or some supernatural power he ends up inside the most secure place existing on the other side- the treasure room of the long dead demon king Yasur.

"Mr Grey?"

I stopped my chuckling, turning my attention to the scene.

"I know you are rich, but you shouldn't look down on James!" Nelson rebuked me as he stood up. He gave me a passionate and defensive glare as he stood up straight.

"Don't worry, Dan. I am used to this." James comforted.

Jack smiled towards me with an almost villainous expression, signalling his favour like an absolute prick. I sighed inwardly, I still hate this guy. I made Jack's character like one of those obnoxious bullies that you can find in any TV show, and I turns out that it feels more disgusting in person. Ughhh! 

But to be honest, I can't get on the protagonist's bad side; that would not be good for my well-being. Plus I just got a few random notifications on my holographic screen, I'd rather have a look at it before I make any stupid decisions.

Uggghhhh... Welp, I'd rather not become friends with Jack. 

"Heh... you see? No one likes ya! James, just leave Haven already!" Jack continued with his abuse.

I honestly can't take this right now, but I don't know how to deal with this guy... acting like a concerned person wouldn't really fit Simon's character, I'd need a much more sophisticated approach... but then again, Simon wasn't an amazing person with words.

But then again, I am not Simon. Let's see what happens if I spice up this scene...

I turned my head towards Jack and gave a subtle smile. Now I am going to rip him to shreds.

"Sorry, but I am not laughing at James..." I curled my mouth to form an evil smile. The light in the room suddenly reflected from my eyes as I spoke, drawing emphasis to my eyes.

"You seem to be awfully confident when you talk, Jack. You must be sooooo happy that you finally found someone that you can pick on... it must make your dick very hard since you finally don't look the worst, right?" I said in a mocking tone.

"You don't know what you are talking about!" Jack shouted as he got up from his chair.

"Oh, I am quiet sure." I spoke as I suddenly directed a gaze of malicious intent towards Jack. The ambient light made me look like a wolf stalking its prey, emphasising the apparent green colour in my eyes.

"Eeeck!" Jack suddenly tripped backwards and landed butt first on his chair.

"Hmmph, That's what I thought." I gently spoke as I returned my gaze to the screen in front of me.

After I finished dealing with Jack, I felt like a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders. 'Damn... that was so stressful!' I thought to myself. I have never done that to someone before, but for some reason it felt so natural. Investing into charisma was definitely not a mistake. 

After a few more seconds, I calmed down. I now felt focused.

"Hey, Mr Grey." A voice spoke out to me.

I turned my head back to the direction of James and Dan.

"Yes?" I asked calmly.

"Sorry that I said that... James is just a real good friend of mine, I can't take him being bullied..." Dan said as he scratched the back of his head. The whole time he didn't look me in the eyes, it kinda felt annoying, but I rolled with it.

"No problems." I briefly responded.

'It seems like no one else can see this screen eh?' I guess getting top 5 in exams should be easy, I mean I literally wrote the exams for my novel. Socialising might be a bit hard, but I have some hope. Haven is a big place, there are plenty of characters to choose from.

I wonder what I'll get from completing these goals anyways? 

I sighed slowly as I opened up what seemed to be a mirror function on my screen. As I looked at the image in front of me, I felt quite happy. My looks were definitely better than on earth, this time I had a really dark shade of grey instead of black hair. Everything seemed in the right place, my build didn't contain nearly as much fat as I did in my last life either...

I guess that voice in my head deserves an apology...

Hopefully if I play my cards right, I can fix that stupid harem ending. I really don't want to live through another shitty disappointment.

I have never been in a relationship myself, I honestly don't have the qualifications for this. I need something easier , like 'killing a cultist'.

"Role call is now over, please open up your text books to page 44" The teacher spoke.

Come to think about it, I did write that the teachers don't interfere with student conflicts. I reasoned in the novel that this is so students learn to deal with their own problems rather than relying on their background. But as all things go, this wasn't effective. Rich students often had a squad of goons to back them up, so background still had a role to play.

I opened my book to page 44, only finding the same knowledge that I had written back in the early days of the novel: Visualisation theory. The whole book was just a textbook within my own novel which I uploaded in an extra chapter that had easily 100k words. It took me a couple of days to write it, but it is definitely worth it now.

'Hmmmm.... just some mana flow regulation and some basic two-dimensional shape visualisation theory...' 

It would be fair to say that this sort of stuff was the backbone of my novel, even if the romance wasn't amazing; this was. But then again, if I had more time, the details could have been even more fleshed out.

"Simon Grey. Please explain in your own words, the most effective way to visualise a two-dimensional shape." The teacher spoke.

I guess I should answer it well, but not TOO well. I stood up and spoke confidently.

"There is no 'easiest way' to visualise a 2D shape. But there are of course 'good' or 'superior' ways to visualise a 2D shape. For instance, to visualise a perfect square, it is easier to feel the corner of a wall and then visualising, rather than outright thinking it through in your mind. However, this is relative, what may work in one situation may not work in another. Having a shape on hand would be nice, but in an exam, you need your head. It really depends on who you are and what the situation is."

I sat down in satisfaction.

"Mmm... very good, indeed. That answer is exactly what I wanted, it illustrates the fact that Visualisation is a personal and situational matter. Good answer."

'Phew... anymore and I would have started talking about advanced angle calculations and mental trigonometry...'

'Hmmm... where is the female lead? Shouldn't she be here by now?'
