Society as defined by our standard dictionary: The people in a country or area, thought of as a group, who have shared customs and laws.
True indeed, society is a group who have customs and laws but the query arises, does it share the customs and laws or just it is imposed on others?
It is said by anthropologists that, man is a social animal and thus need people around to meet, talk, express and spend time.
It is also a matter of fact that society differs from place to place. With no offence, each country has set up its own ideologies and principles and run on those. In English speaking countries, society has an abstract existence. To some countries in the Eastern part of the globe,  in the largest continent of world, we observe society as any matter that has proper existence with weight (here I meant, emphasis). 
In a society like ours, we undoubtedly have the most attached and linked society wherein people interact and live together as any other relative or family members to us. But, we can't just accept the positive sides without accepting its negative sides.
To start, I prefer being more optimistic while forming my opinion and insights for it. In my opinion, we are richer than any of other countries in the sense that since childhood every single Indian child is taught to treat the members of the society to treat them as per their age and to show similar height of respect and regards to them as we do to the members in our family or in relatives. If by any mistake, we act on the contradict, we receive unwanted and endless epical sessions on morale and ethics for free of cost and honestly speaking, post those longer hours of session, an individual murmers to himself "Agggh! That wasn't intentional and they're not even any of our relatives! Why's this for then?? Is there any option to stop it, or of not, simply any control to skip it till the end?"
Well, this thought can be called as imaginary because it is involuntary. 
Well, parents shouldn't be blamed for this, they're here on earth as a godly figure for us to guide and pave our path to make it smooth, easy and clear. But while in 20s, we often fail to realise because there's a lot of difference in both the thoughts, perspectives and ideologies. 
But does the society carry out all the necessary duties and responsibilities in return? Or it cages us??
Well, growing up in itself is a learning and adopting process in a human life. Going back in the memory lane, have we ever observed how we were during our school days? Have we noticed how many have we learned and how we kept on changing? We went through lots of transitions throughout the school end. When I first had this idea of picking this particular topic, I at once skimmed my gallery and found some relevant photos of my past and picked up some photos from my primary days, middle school years, high school years and most significantly college days as ingredients to make the recipe called memories. While in the process of this amalgamation into a collage, I observed a drastic change in the same child who grew up into an adult with respect to time. Biological changes are obvious,  but there are many other changes that takes place.
Well, everyone does believe this transition and can tell about it oneself but what I observed is a constant and steady change in myself. I knew things that were new, adopted some few of them (though I got rid of whatever bad I adopted then) but it shaped me the way I am at present. The original me was gradually dwindling over the years.
But, the society doesn't accept anything that seems to be new or something dissimilar to the norms and culture that they had followed.
Everyone of us is surrounded by a so called society and treatment we do to them is totally just but when it comes back to us, it is never accepted gracefully.
To some extent, we can say that, whatever we feel as good may not be good to all or sometimes we fall into bad practices.
In a side, a society has people who express their happiness and boast of their children being educated in a convent institution or in a very reputed college or university. Additionally, they boast of their children being modern and apt as per the modern world. On the contrary, the same society has people who talks back about the same children who just been appreciated.
It's not easy to understand the psychology and mindset of people a particular thing. You'll experience atypical view of any particular perspective. Some would act pendonium whereas some would simply go reaction less. 
A complex level environment and environmental factors leads to the complexity if mindsets.

"Acheron-sama?" Rose called,

"Acheron-sama?"

Acheron opened his eyes and looked at his hand as he flexed it, he then turned to look at Rose,

"Apologize for disturbing your meditation but your phone is going off," Rose said,

Acheron noticed that his inside jacket pocket was vibrating with a beeping sound going off every 10 seconds.

Acheron pulled his phone out and laid it on the table. He tapped the screen and mini hologram of Freya popped up from the screen.

"Hello, Freya," Acheron said as he smiled at her,

"How can I help you?"

"Hi daddy, Mom wanted me to pass some messages to you since she can't do it herself," Freya said as she cutely tilted her head side to side.

"What did she say, sweetheart?" Acheron said as he patted her head with his finger.

"Mom said that your monthly report is ready to be reviewed and also, she wanted to remind you that Halloween is 4 days away, on Thursday, and the family has decided to ban from using any insta-kill 'costumes' during your time in school," Freya said, though she couldn't feel Acheron's head pats, a contented smile was plastered all over her cute, chubby little face nonetheless.

"Oh?" Acheron turned to look at Rose who was guiltily hiding her face behind a small pillow.

"I was going to tell you when we landed Acheron-sama," Rose said,

Acheron turned to look back at Freya,

"That just means I can still make them shit their pants right?" Acheron asked,

Freya put a finger over her mouth, thinking,

"It only says that they can't die"

"Wonderful!" said Acheron, a big smile on his face.

"Anything else, my cute Freya?" 

"No that was it… oh, wait, daddy! There's something more!" Freya said,

"What is it?" Acheron asked,

"It's not from Mom, it's from Hela. She wanted me to ask you when she will get to be of use? She says that she was born to kill but hasn't killed anyone since she was born" Freya said,

Acheron chuckled,

"Tell your sister that daddy will let her kill all the people she wants when there's a need for it"

"Ok!" Freya said,

"Oh, wait! There's more! Mom said to not forget to switch back to Japanese before landing, so you won't make a fool of yourself like your first day of school" 

"Hoh~ and where did she hear about that?" Acheron said, he now switched from English to Japanese.

"Uhh… Nowhere! Bye Daddy!" 

And with a cute smile, Freya disappeared in purple motes of light.

Acheron shook his head as he chuckled.

"How long till we land Rose?"

"One more hour Acheron-sama," Rose said, she had already switched to Japanese the moment she got on the plane. 

The reason why Acheron didn't notice that is because he doesn't pay attention to these kinds of things since he can understand everyone no matter where he goes. 

But just because he can understand anyone, it doesn't mean the opposite is true, Acheron can respond to you in any random language depending on which one he was thinking at that moment.

An hour later, Acheron and Rose disembarked from the plane and got in one of Acheron's cars that were waiting for him. They rode as they hummed songs from the radio station.

Rose looked disappointed in finding their house empty as if no one was ever there.

"If you are looking for the Ferrymen, they have already left. The moment I landed; Artemis stopped her security protocols. The Ferrymen are back to being in the shadows"

"Aw man~," Rose said,

Rose was without a doubt a big fan of Acheron's Ferrymen, she thought they were the coolest. The times that Rose has seen all 100 of them together could be counted in one hand.

"I'll on the 5th floor with Athena for the rest of the night, I'll see you in the morning before school," Acheron said as he got into the elevator.

"Yes, Acheron-sama" Rose vowed as she saw Acheron off.

The doors to the 5th sublevel opened revealing the 'Command Center' and home of Athena's Cortex. 14 chairs circled a big round table made out of black glass and marble. 

Behind the table, on the wall, 5 giant screens were seen each with a news channel on from a different country. To the left of the table, behind a wall of specially made glass, were countless servers each one of them essential to Acheron's operations. While on the right, was Acheron's greatest technological masterpiece. 

Inside a 5-meter-wide cylinder glass, sat a red metallic orb hovering in some sort of liquid as wires connected to it from the ceiling. This was 'The Cortex', or in other words, this was Athena's true body. Acheron had accomplished this orb a mere decade ago, but Athena has been around for almost 100 years.

While the rest of the world struggled with the creation of the radio, Acheron was creating Athena, the first true A.I. It wasn't until the rest of the world had invented the internet that Athena was able to move from place to place.

Acheron walked and sat at the head of the table, at the same time Athena appeared to his right, gently smiling at Acheron.

From the corner of his eye, he could see the red orb start to glow a brighter red.

"Welcome home, Darling," said Athena,

"Its good to be home, Athena" replied Acheron.

"Let's get started then… is everything on schedule?" Acheron asked.

"Yes, Darling" Athena waved her hand and a hologram appeared in the middle of the table.
A hologram appeared of a white ball with red trees hovering in the center.

Athena began to explain,

"The virus is ready to be released, Darling, I estimate over 200,000 people infected all over the world by April of 2020."

Acheron leaned forward and smiled evilly,

"I'm sure this will cause deaths and mass panic around the globe….hahaha"

Athena's eyes began to glow red, the same color as the orb behind her.

"When and where shall we release it, Darling?"

Acheron tapped the desk slowly while thinking,

"You know what? Pull up the Earth"

"Yes, my love," Athena waved her hand and a holographic Earth took the virus's place.

"Let's leave it to chance then" Acheron waved his hand and manipulated the globe to begin spinning around really fast.

Acheron waited 22 seconds before tapping the hologram with his finger.

Acheron smiled at where his finger landed.

"Wuhan, China it is! As for the when… let's pick December, a time of giving…"

"Got it, Darling, setting time and place… now" Athena said.

"OK, what's next?" Acheron asked.

Athena waved her hand once again, this time she showed live images of a wildfire.

"Australia's fires have been going on for quite some time now but it's about to get worse… Your pet will soon be released."

The images then changed to live video of a horse, but when I say 'horse' I mean it loosely. Inside a cage stood a horse, except this horse was on fire and it had a horn on its forehead. A fire burned instead of a mane of hair, even its tail was made of flames.

10 out of 10 nerds will say it looked like a Pokémon named Rapidash, but instead of being made of hopes and dreams, it was made of carnage and despair.

Its big eyes glowed an infernal red as its piranha-like teeth tore into the flesh of an animal already burnt to a crisp. When it huffed and puffed flames were spit out from its nose like flamethrowers. Hoof-like imprints of flame were left after each step it took.

 "The plan is to release Inferno into the Australian wilds and let it burn the country into the ground for a couple of months," Athena said,

Acheron smiled once again, 

"Fantastic!"

Acheron's eyes began to glow purple as his laughter turned maniacal and crazed filled with evil.

"It feels so good to be bad…"

100,000 years ago, a meteorite crashed into Earth, granting a 17 year old caveman the power humans have craved for millenniums, immortality. Though originally a savage and cruel caveman, millenniums have let Acheron refine himself and surpass the epitome of Humanity,  basically, a god on Earth. With his power he mastered all forms of combat, every language, all the arts, and much more. He sometimes created empires, sometimes built empires, sometimes destroyed empires, at times, even his own. Today, mutants with superpowers walk among the public, it is kept a secret by the governments throughout the world and events pertaining to them are covered up but doesn't stop Acheron from interfering with their plans.

2 months ago, his oldest adopted daughter passed away, she was 96 years old. Though he cherishes all the children in his family, she was without a doubt, one of his favorites. 

"Her last wish was for me to have a normal life but what do children do in this era?" Acheron asks one of his adopted sisters. "They go to school, Lord Acheron" she says. "School? Will it be entertaining?" he asks, "It would at the very least be a new experience" she replies. "Make it happen!" he orders. " Yes! I will do it immediately, Lord Acheron" she says.
He, who was there when the first Homo Sapiens migrated out of Africa and existed way before the wheel was created, will let nothing interfere with his daughter's last wish and will slaughter anyone that stands in his way.

01/01/1921 was the day Dio was conceived to this world . Born in Japan , Osaka but originally from Italy , both his parents were archeologists who traveled around the globe seeking the unknown , but they finally decided to settle down and reside in Japan for the sake of their newborn kid , the one and only kid they had. Dio is an Italian name that  translates to God . His parents precisely chose this name , because they wanted from their son to be the god of his life , fully in control of his acts , with free will.
Moving forward to 1927 , Dio was 6 years old already , growing into a smart and proud young Italian little man . Although , he was occasionally bullied in school by Japanese kids of his age , they called him  (外人 - gaijin ) which meant Outsider in English. Dio  didn't mind that because it was irrelevant to him , and also because other feared him , and that it because he never held from using physical power to shut the bullies , it caused him many troubles to him and his parents , but secretly his dad was proud of him because he was facing his problems like a proud Italian young man. 
The Senzalimiti family was a proud Italian family , a very ' full of knowledge family '. Their house in Osaka was full of books , manuscripts , and ancient parchments . The topics referred in these varied from philosophy to cryptology . Basically every piece of  literature, philosophy, science was there somewhere in the great Senzalimiti family in Osaka , a library where the heart and soul of every Senzalimiti member was poured , a library herited by every new Senzalimiti heir . From young age Dio already understood that knowledge and power were everything in this world , so he rushed to the library  and read daily as much as he could  , to the point where he fell asleep all the time in the library , and his father always had to carry him each night to his bed . His dad , Franco Senzalimiti was back in the days a World War I participant and a war veteran with many medals , and one of them was the medal of courage . Rumors say that he single handedly destroyed a french dispatch squad of soldiers only using his brain , land mines and some ideas from the Books of War of Sun Tzu , but doing so was a revolt against orders from his superiors , which led him to be dismissed from his duties in the army . Now he is just a peaceful 48 years old man , who works as an archeologist. He was obsessed with older civilizations, like the maya , inca , Babel ... and his favorite book was the great of Gilgamesh . 
Moving forward to 01/01/1937 , it was Dio's birthday . Dio wasn't really interested in birthday parties , what mattered for him is his family , chit chatting with his mother and father was enough . But in that day his parents , weren't in Japan. They went on a trip to Mexico , Guatemala to check on an excavation in the Mayan ruins . They went approximately for a month and still didn't come back .

Dio Senzelimiti , a proud Italian young man thrived for glory and success , at al cost. Follow his adventure to reach his goal in becoming the perfect version of the Homo sapiens.

The last few weeks had been a simple uneventful period for Kano, but they were a good forming habit routine. He found himself unwittingly in a blissful pattern. He walked to school with Neo every single day, although they changed the route quite often.  His companion was proved to be an irresistible attraction wherever he was going. Thus, Kano consciously altered the route using food as an excuse, walking to different places on the way to school.
He found himself spending his money to try different cuisines across the neighborhood. The country was a big progressive land, where different cultures were celebrated and gathered. One prime example was the Aster Academy, where students from across the globe joined. However, he thought that it had more to do with the Gate Guardians than anything.
Yerasu was like Arikai but different from several senses. It was developed during a massive tectonic shifting of the Earth, causing the fusion between Europe and North America when new land rose from the sea. The North Atlantic Ocean completely disappeared, and the South Atlantic Ocean became just the Atlantic Ocean.
With the new land, it raised the debate of boundary and territory between the two continents. The other continents abstained from the struggle due to geographic location, but they participated in settling this debate. From history, the new land was designated its own continent, becoming the eighth continent. The new continent was named Thaplatoles, after the two people who were believed to be fathers of science.
The continent was divided into two countries. Yerasu was one, and Aristein was the other, naming after the great scientists. If Arikai was the musical country, then Aristein was dubbed as the scientific country, as scientists from all over the world flocking over for its technical government. At the same time, Yerasu became the beacon of immigrants with the most diverse cultures in the world for its freedom, surpassing America.
Even the mottos of both countries reflected their ways of life. For Aristein was the simple "Thinking Forward", and "Where Liberty and Dreams Reside" was for Yerasu.
Many Yerasunian were encouraged and sponsored to travel the world to learn about different ways of life and their beautiful essences before entering the workforce, while it was mandated for governing bodies. It was something he already checked off on his building resume. There were multiple national languages in the country, but the most widely recognized ones were Chinese and English. It was one of the things Kano loved about his country. Bilingual and trilingual were common sights.
School was pretty great. He went to class in the morning, practiced with Neo in the evening. He also started to look for an after - school job as well. Spending money without steady income was slowly eating toward his savings. Literally every sixteen years old Yerasunian had an after - school job, which he did not have time to look for one with crazy things happened lately. It was one of the requirements set by the universities.
Even Neo, who could just live off his inheritance, did tutors for some elementary kids and interned at a tech firm. Irwin performed music therapy in the hospital, while Alexandria was an assistant at the fashion company. Ulima, Jahan, and Alvis, an exception for his age, worked with a nonprofit medical supply organization. Eirlys was taking sabbatical for a few months before going back to her curator job, which she finally got the full - time position at her sixteenth birthday, transitioning away from the minor status.
So as the only odd one out of everyone that he knew, Kano started to look around for a job that could fit his schedule. Kano scrolled through the job site on his tablet. These were the approved jobs for someone below twenty.
Although Yerasu were liberal regarding many issues, it was stricter in certain aspects than many countries in the world. Most legal rights started at sixteen and expanded at twenty. However, certain rights could only open at twenty - four, with extensive education and training on consequences unless there were special exemptions. Various occupations were legalized and taxed with stringent regulations and stern punishments for violations. Surprisingly, it worked for Yerasu, and the country thrived at incredible speed and lower crime rate.
"What are you looking at, my beautiful cinnamon friend?" The voice on the other side of the tablet broke his thinking. It is a familiar voice of his friend.
Putting the tablet down revealing a pair of sky - blue eyes in front of him.
[This guy's boundary is getting smaller and smaller.]
"I am looking for a job. Since you guys all have one, I feel left out. And my spending started to eye my savings. Thus, here I am."
"Ah, find anything?"
"Not much. There are a lot of jobs, but flexible hours are the problem."
"True that. You still have to train with Neo in the evening, right?"
"Yes, not to mention the martial arts practice that the coach and MMA club try to rope me in. By the way, how did you get your job?"
"I used to volunteer at the hospital, playing songs for the kids. The unit manager took a liking to my charm. His words were 'Hey, already spend time here. Why don't make some pocket money as well?'. And I got the job."

Kano went back to his job search. Suddenly, Irwin slapped his forehead and pulled out his phone. He tapped the screen with his slender fingers. After a few minutes, the phone chimed, and he smiled brightly.
"Hey, Kano. I got some good news for you."
"What's up?" Kano raised his head again and looked at the turret with some confusion.
"I find a perfect job for you. Flexible hours. Good pay. And great benefit as well."
"Really?" His eyes lit up. "What is it?"
"It is a server in a pasta house. It is pretty close to the school so it is convenient for you. The manager is an alum of the school."
"Cool. I want it."
"Sure. Let me write down the address. Just meet the manager at five pm today for the interview." Irwin took out a pen and scribbled a line of address on the sticky note. He handed it to Kano.
"Ok. Thank you."
"My pleasure."

I must have slept for ages because when I opened my eyes, it was completely dark. The only light came from the car which didn't extend far at all.

We were in the middle of nowhere, there was not a single soul. It was completely deserted. 

Surrounding us, no matter where I looked was mountains of sand.

"Oh, You're awake. We'll be there soon. You might not see it yet but just look in front. Over there, do you see it?"

I must have been still half asleep, it took a while before I managed to glimpse at what Giovanni was pointing at in the distance, there was a like a small glimmer of light getting brighter as we drove closer. 

"Where are we?"

"We're in the Al'Tra Hittin Desert, and that light you see over there is going to be your new home."

This was going to be my new home; just what kind of place was it? I didn't mind anything, just imagining myself with Lisa and Giovanni was enough. 

My heart raced as the car drifted off the rocky surface and onto a smooth road. On either side glowing in the dark, as if guiding us were dozens of black English lamps with a globe that glowed a golden yellow.

My eyes were drawn to the center...

As I followed the light, my heart leapt to my throat at the sight of a massive fairytale-like white castle. It was completely out of this world.

It was jaw-dropping. How was it even possible? It had four massive towers that shot out to the skies, and...trees everywhere. 

How did the desert turn into a forest?

I must be imagining it.

Rubbing my eyes, I took another look to make sure of it, and my mouth dropped.

Never had I seen anything so beautiful, the castle was better looking than any I had seen in books, it had dark roofs, a completely snow-white body, with windows that glowed yellow. 

 "What…What…is this place?"

"This, my dear, is your new home. Excited?" 

"Giovanni, you must be kidding!"

"There's no way I could live here."

"Are you a king or something?"

"I wish!"

"Then, how can we live here all by ourselves? Just cleaning this place would take years!"

"More like decades!"

"How is it possible that there are so many trees? I thought we were just in a desert."

"We were, but welcome to Mirridal, the City of Life and Death."

Our car came to a stop, parked on the road right outside a bridge. We were not the only ones here, there were many others, each sleek and rich with families getting out and crossing the bridge together.

 "Why is it called the city of life and death?"

"It is a place of new beginnings and endings of the past. Lisa will help you change out of that old pillowcase of yours and into a dress."

"Maria, once said that boys and girls do not change in the same room."

"Don't worry me and Steve will be outside waiting for you. We won't see a single thing."

They moved out and closed the door behind them. 

"I think this will look perfect on you."

Lisa pulled out of her bag the most dazzling black dress I had ever seen. 

She even helped me change into it. It felt completely different from the pillowcase I was wearing. It was soft, loose-fitting giving me the freedom to move my arms and legs comfortably, yet warm.

"Perfect. It fits you well, did you want to have a look?" 

She pulled out a little piece of glass inside her bag and my jaws dropped, never in my entire life had I seen myself so clean. It was as if I was looking at an innocent girl, the dress fitted perfectly on me as I waved my arms. 

"The dress is amazing; how did you know it would fit me?"

"Well, we were looking for someone who would fit the dress when we came to the orphanage."

"So that's why you chose me?"

"You're so silly. You believe everything I say. We were just lucky we got the perfect dress for you."

"I love it! This is my new favorite dress. I am not going to change out of it."

"Well dear, are you able to also try to slip this on? It should fit you."

I loved Lisa and Giovanni, they were amazing. They adopted me and gave me more than I could dream of. How was I going to ever repay them? 

"The shoes are perfect. They fit well, and feel like I am wearing nothing at all."

 "Glad you love it kid. Why don't we go out and show Giovanni."

She opened the door and we went out.

"Kid, you look dazzling. I love it!"

"What do you say, kid? Why don't we take a photo together?"

Giovanni reached into his pocket and pulled out a camera and passed it to Steve. Lisa moved to the left of me, and Giovanni was on the right, we all looked back at Steve.

"Okay, smile. Say Cheese"

And with a flash, he had taken a photo. Three pictures came out of the camera, each of them showing us smiling. It was truly magical.

"Thanks, come pick us up tomorrow morning."

"Where are we going? Are we going exploring somewhere else tomorrow?"

"Silly, only me and Giovanni are going, we need to go to work tomorrow."

"Can I come? Maria always said I was a good helping hand."

"I know you are, but you are a big girl now, so you need will need to go to school. Unfortunately, parents cannot stay with you while you're at school."

"Will you visit me?"

"We will visit you back once every month…"

"Just once a month? Is work that hard?"

"Don't cause too much trouble, Okay?"

"Why do I even have to go to school?"

"Silly, all children need to go to school. This is a place where we learn things and get educated. 

"But…"

 "Giovanni and I both graduated from here and I believe you will too."

 "You and Giovanni graduated from this school too?"

"Yes, we did maybe about ten years ago. I don't know if the curriculum has changed much but it is a prestige school."

"Not ten years ago, Lisa. We did it eight years ago, and it was damn hard."

"How long will I be here?"

"Well, when we did it. It was only one year and you either graduate or you…"

"She'll graduate. I know it. Just look at her she looks like a little small achiever."

Giovanni said I am an achiever! No one has ever said that. He believes in me so much. I am sure if my new parents can do it, then I can do it too. It can't be too hard. I'm sure I can wait for one year to spend more time with them. I feel so excited now.

"Well kid, let's go."

Holding onto Giovanni pinkie and Lisa's hand we made our way across the bridge and into the building.

My name is Evelyn Lisa Giovanni.

It has been a whole a week since I left the Orphanage.

A lot has changed. 

I have been stuck here for four days. 
My food has run out, my last droplet of water has gone. 

My friends have betrayed me and left me all alone to defend for myself.

I am writing this as I am not sure if I will make it out alive. My adoptive parents dropped me at the academy believing I would make it out.

But I do not feel the same way.

The headmaster has given us an utmost important task.

To locate 10 items that have been scattered across the forest.

There are 100 candidates competing with me and knowing the academy. Only the best survive.

And to make the situation worse.

One golden bell has been found and there are only 15 remaining.

I don’t know if I have what it takes to find all these items.

I am tired. I am scared. I am cold. And I am hungry.

„No! Why?"

„To be honest it's freaking disturbing!
Talking to a floating head!"

„Oh, ok, but still no!"

At that moment Cale saw someone appear behind Allan:
„Oh, it's another one! There behind you!"

Turning his head around Allan looked at the person that laid on the floor a few meters behind him. It was an Asian girl and she was completely naked. She had long black hair that would reach down to her back when she stood up. But the best way to describe her would be small, she was only around 1,5 to 1,6 meters tall and if not for her long hair one could probably mistake her for a pretty boy if she wore just slightly loose clothes.

„Well, Allan my friend, you are the guy with a shirt!"

Grumbling silently Allan took off his shirt and covered the naked girl, and then proceded to try and wake her up.

„Hello? Excuse me!"

„Hmmm... not now Airi, I have to work today and am still exhausted from playing with you all night yesterday!"

*cough* 

Allan turned his head slightly embarrassed to look at Cale and tried to ignore the pictures that he just imagined.

Carefully Allan shook her shoulder and continued to call out to her, all the while taking care that his head was out of all potential danger zones.

„Who? What? Where?", still half asleep the girl asked all three important W-questions.

When she looked down suddenly started to blush heavily and said rather loud:
„Turn around right this instant!"

While both men turned around Allan remembered to remind her:
„By the way, the part of your body that seems invisible is the part that's covered by my shirt. You can wear that for the time being."

When the men were allowed to turn around again, the girl already wore the shirt. Luckily she was pretty short, so the shirt reached over her butt and half the way down to her knees.

After a few minutes, they had calmed her down and explained the situation.

„So, Aya, I guess you also don't know what this freaking situation is all about?"

„No I don't know, and mister Cale could you please not get so familiar with me? It's uncomfortable."

„Hm? What are you talking about?"

„May I ask a question miss Ishikawa? Where are you from? Or more precisely, which language are we using right now?"

„Obviously Japanese?!"

„Eh?"

„Then please, listen to me talking and only concentrate on the sound and ignore the meaning. Which language is it? Can you tell?"

„What the f*king hell! I have never heard this kinda language before, what is this?"

„Well, it's definitely not Japanese, that's weird, to say the least."

„How the hell did you even realize that?"

„Well, I also didn't realize at first, but it got me thinking when miss Ishikawa complained just now. Her name already sounded like a Japanese name, and if you consider the fact that it is impolite to call someone by their first name if you aren't close in Japan it got me thinking."

„What the heck have those things to do with each other?"

„Well, it is considered normal. But everywhere else her complaining about this is quite weird. At that point, I realized that something didn't fit, because I also thought that everyone was talking English."

„Aren't you freaking perceptive!"

„Mister Cale, could you please stop cursing all the time? It's getting a little bit annoying!"

„Ah, I'm sorry about that, it's a little bit of an occupational disease."

„In what kinda Job do you have to curse that much?"

„Well, I'm training the Soccer team in my hometown, so I have to get a little bit loud sometimes or those kids just won't listen. Oh by the way what are you doing... when you aren't here... wherever we are right now?"

„I'm still in my last year of high school, by the way, what about you mister Walker?"

„Allan is fine. Well, I'm a scientist, leading a small team."

„Oh, what field are you working in?"

„Although you probably won't like it, it's modern weaponry."

„Ah... Well, if you don't do it someone else will, and everyone has to earn their money..."

„What? What happened? Who are you people?"

Suddenly a new voice sounded out behind them. Allan turned his head, curiously enough he couldn't see the origin of the voice.

„Huh? The voice sounds female, but why can't I see her?"

„It's probably because of her clothes. Excuse me, could you please take off some of your clothing, it's enough to take off the things that cover your head and hands."

„Um, yeah, of course, I can, but why?"

„Just look at us, the part that is covered by clothes is practically invisible."

A few moments later a head with shoulder length blonde hair appeared midair and two hands followed soon after.

„My name is Julia Bauer, pleased to meet you. So who are you and where are we? I was operating on a patient just now, I have to get back!"

„That is the same f*cking question we want to get answered, you can call me Cale."

„Allan Walker. So miss Julia is a Doktor, and you said you were operating just now? can you tell me more about that? About how you came here?"

„You can drop the miss, just Julia is fine. Well, i... don't know what happened myself. At one moment I stood at the operation table with my scalpel in someone else guts and then suddenly everything went white. Next, I heard you guys talking, and you know the rest."

„So you are saying there was no process? You didn't get kidnapped or drugged or anything?"

„No, and now that I think about it, I even stood in exactly the same posture."

„By the way Julia, oh you can call me Aya, are you perhaps from Germany?"

„How did you know that?", Cale asked, slightly peeved that he had to still call her by her last name, but not some woman that suddenly appeared out of nowhere. He suddenly remembered what she first said when she was still half asleep, and then it dawned upon him.

„Ahh, well, some manga authors like to use the german language, mostly as some kind of magic language, but also german characters. That's why I could recognize the name."

„That's interesting, may I ask. What time of the day was it when you appeared here?"

„Well, it was already pretty late at night."

„So, considering that we three where all asleep when we came here we can infer that we appeared with a difference of 30 to 60 minutes but disappeared from all over the globe and still always at night. That's... let's call it „interesting" for the moment."

„All over the globe? What do you mean?"

„Well you are from Germany, I myself am from England, Ishikawa is from Japan and Cale...?"

„America."

After they had explained Julia the rest and had discussed some additional theories and assumptions Allan suddenly spoke up:
„Ishikawa, could it be that you have some kind of complex about your height?"

Synopsis:

Allan Walker, one of the greatest scientists of his time and a man of many talents and shortcomings. What would happen if such a person ends up in a world of swords and magic as a hero? 

„Have fun on the frontlines! I will stay in the back where my Laboratory and the plumbing are!“

And if still something happens to him?

„Well then, let’s make myself a new body! What? Necromancy is bad you say? But i’m playing with my soul and not yours!“

This is a story about two lost souls who met by chance. Two souls that would have been better off without each other, as they have to run, hide and fight with fate. Just so, that they can stay together another day until they lose either their lives or sense of self.

Author rambling:

I'm not all that good at writing a synopsis, so i hope you can still give it a try.

If i had to say what type of story this is, i would say the japanese "Isekai with gamesystem" type, just that i am trying to make it as logical as possible especially in terms of physics and the intelligence of my characters. (You can't imagine how many stories i dropped because of these reasons...) Well, this is just me trying to do a better job. (In this regard i'm always open to criticism.)

"YES!" – An exultant Ma'am Merl celebrated as soon as she entered our office. "The printing press approved our request!"

I almost jumped off my seat. "That's great then! So, what are the terms?"

"Actually, after they checked my transaction history with them, they agreed with our demands – and gave it to us for free!"

My eyes bulged upon hearing that the corrections will be applied at no cost. No matter how cynical I was beforehand, it still worked out. Also, it wasn't really an implausible idea that just because she was Emerlina Arnante, she perfectly executed the plan. At the end of the day, she's one of the most acknowledged teachers in the region.

"When will we get the copies?" I asked. 

"On Friday. That gives us three more days to make sure that everything is arranged before we release them to the entire school."

"Alright. That should be easy. What are we supposed to do now?"

"Prepare for the upcoming Intramurals."

"Wait, what? Isn't it too early for that? Besides, it's only January."

"Right. Well, since our school has already adapted the August-December and January-May format, it was supposed to happen last month. However, because of the strong typhoon, it was suspended. Hence, moving it to the 17th until the 19th of this month."

It was almost seven in the evening when I finished editing several articles, including news and literary pieces, which will be used in the upcoming Nexus issues. Before I completed everything, I received a weird-looking email from an unknown sender.

Nothing really looked peculiar at first. But its title caught my attention – "The Infamous Recession Scheme."

As I scanned it, I realized that it was an editorial about the Novel Coronavirus or nCoV written in English. It made me wonder how and why it was sent to me. Besides, I didn't even know who disseminated it. Worse, why was it about the virus?

There was a paragraph where its author gave a hint regarding a certain powerful country who wanted to spark the third world war without using any artillery. It made me think how this chaos really started.

To my surprise, a friend also sent me a photograph of a portion of a Dean Koontz written book, "The Eyes of Darkness." Here's what page 353 of such book contained:

"I'm not interested in the philosophy or morality of biological warfare," Tina said. "Right now Ijust want to know how the hell Danny wound up in this place."

"To understand that," Dombey said, "you have to go back twenty months. It was around then that a Chinese scientist named Li Chen defected ti the United States, carrying a diskette record of China's most important and dangerous new biological weapon in a decade. They call the stuff "Wuhan-400" because it was developed at their RDNA labs outside of the city of Wuhan, and it was their four-hundredth viable strain of man-made microorganisms created at that research center.

"Wuhan-400 Is a perfect weapon. It afflicts only human beings. No other living creature can carry it. And like syphilis, Wuhan-400 can't survive outside a living body for longer than a minute, which means it can't permanently contaminate objects or entire places the way anthrax and other virulent microorganisms can. And when the host expires, the Wuhan-400 within him perishes a short while later, as soon as the temperature of the corpse drops below eighty-six degrees Fahrenheit. Do you see the advantage of all this?"

The specificity of Koontz's words gave me goose bumps. After reading everything, a lot of questions clobbered my gray matter – which made me forget it was almost eight in the evening and I was still in the office. I took all my stuff, put them in my bag and speedily went home.

"It's almost nine, Pat," mom said as I bolted to my room. "Where have you been?"

"I was stuck in our office, Ma. Ma'am Merl left me with a bunch of articles that needed editing," I answered. "I made sure to finish all of them.

"Isn't that too much? I mean, you just got into the publication."

"I'm not surprised at all, Ma."

As soon as she left, I locked my room and started browsing the internet. I searched for the book's most notable phrases about Koontz's future predictions. Our residence wasn't really the most feasible for a smooth reception, but it was just enough to get the information I needed. There were numerous search results – but one of them really stood out. It was a picture of a page from Koontz's book – the page wasn't shown – but it talked about the year 2020.

"In around 2020 a severe pneumonia-like illness will spread throughout the globe, attacking the lungs and the bronchial tubes and resisting all known treatments. Almost more baffling than the illness itself will be the fact that it will suddenly vanish as quickly as it arrived, attack again ten years later, and then disappear completely."

I was startled. The fact that Koontz really stated the year 2020 in his prophecy made it even spookier. Now that it all made sense, I checked if my memory served me right. But before doing so, I first listed all the things I knew before verifying them – I was thinking of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome or SARS. 

Based from what I recalled, SARS probably boomed between 2000 and 2005. I wasn't even ten years old by then, but I knew my retention would not fail me. Afterwards, I went back to the internet to validate my conspiracy.

The World Health Organization website shown that SARS was identified in 2003. It was thought to be an animal virus from an as-yet-uncertain animal reservoir, perhaps bats, that spread to other animals (civet cats) and first infected humans in the Guangdong province of southern China in 2002.

Furthermore, Brenda L. Teslini, MD, of the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, discussed the coronaviruses in their website, MSD Manual Professional Version. What she wrote gave me a clearer picture of the virus.

Coronaviruses are enveloped RNA viruses that cause respiratory illnesses of varying severity from the common cold to fatal pneumonia. Numerous coronaviruses, first discovered in domestic poultry in the 1930s, cause respiratory, gastrointestinal, liver, and neurologic diseases in animals. Only 7 coronaviruses are known to cause disease in humans.

Four of the 7 coronaviruses most frequently cause symptoms of the common cold. Three of the 7 coronaviruses cause more severe, and sometimes fatal, respiratory infections in humans than other coronaviruses and have caused major outbreaks of deadly pneumonia in the 21st century:

SARS-CoV2 is a novel coronavirus identified as the cause of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) that began in Wuhan, China in late 2019 and spread worldwide.

MERS-CoV was identified in 2012 as the cause of Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS).

SARS-CoV was identified in 2002 as the cause of an outbreak of sever acute respiratory syndrome (SARS).

These coronaviruses that cause severe respiratory infections are the zoonotic pathogens, which begin in infected animals and are transmitted from animals to people.

It was clear that COVID-19 was a strain of the original SARS virus which was notorious in 2003.

Therefore, Koontz made sense when he declared that the virus will vanish quickly as it arrived, attack again ten years later.

But, what I was really hoping for was the next phase – for this destructive virus to disappear completely.

We take photographs as Return Tickets to moments otherwise gone. As Pat regains his shutter touch, Jane arrives in his borderline-okay life, which will make unimaginable differences.

The next day, Li Qiang got up and slept through school as usual.
To his annoyance, he couldn't do so, however, because of the noisy atmosphere in his class. When, he finally bothered to tune into his classmate's discussion, he was shocked.
"Did you see the news last night? Apparently, there was a huge cult sacrifice in Mongolia! When the government finally stormed in, they found over 5,000 dead bodies!"
"Dude, that's old news. They've found 7 huge cult sacrifices across the globe each with more than 5,000 deaths! There's one in Mongolia, Germany, Italy, Canada, Mexico, Brazil and even India!""D*mn! That's over 35,000 deaths!"
"Do you think it's done by the same people?"
"Obviously, otherwise there's no way that 7 different groups would do something like that in the exact same way and same day."
Li Qiang was shocked by the news.
'F*ck me, 35000 people dead.'
His mouth went dry as he imagined the mountains of bodies. He pulled out his phone and searched it up. As he was scrolling through news, he caught sight of a video a little different from the rest.
Instead of a reporter in the thumbnail, a man with a black-hooded gown stood with his arms raised. He clicked the video, curious as to why it had received so many views, despite being posted less than 2 hours ago.
"People of the World!"
The man screamed in a guttural voice in English, but Chinese, Spanish and French subtitles flashed on the screen.
"The sacrifice has been completed. God has re-established his connection to this world! His messengers will arrive in 7 days and raze the world to ground! The reckoning is coming!"
Li Qiang normally would have dismissed this video as gibberish, but the recent news and his guttural tone of voice gave him chills. As soon as the school day ended, he went home. He entered his sister's room, meaning to show her the video.
However, he chanced upon a weird scene. His sister had rolled herself up in a blanket and was rolling on the floor, muttering something. Their eyes locked and they both froze.
"Is that... my blanket?"
Li An's face instantly flushed deep crimson.
"I-I-I was cold and my blanket was too thin."
He glanced at her thick blanket on her bed but didn't say anything. He leaned over and picked her up with the blanket under one arm, her slight frame being no challenge to hold. Her face flushed even deeper.
"P-p-put me down, I'm not a baby."
Li Qiang glanced at her puzzled, as he was always intimate with her like this since childhood. He thought back to yesterday's dinner.
'She might be put off by me, now that she found out that we aren't siblings.'
Putting her abnormal behaviour down to finding out they weren't siblings, he placed her on her bed and got out his phone.
"That's weird."
Li Qiang mumbled to himself as he wasn't able to find the video, despite having saved it. He sat down next to her anyway wanting to talk to her about the cult incident. He was cut short by Li An.
"Let's talk at dinner."
She stuffed his blanket into his arms and attempted to push him out of the room. He didn't budge. Looking at her, he sighed and then lumbered out of the room. He lay in bed, searching for the missing video.
After not being able to find it, he realised that all the sites had taken it down. At that moment, he got a text from Wang Lei.
'Need to talk about a job. More than 50,000 this time. Nightclub at 6:30?'
Li Qiang texted back.
'Sure.'
As Li Qiang walked up to the club, he noticed that no sound came from the nightclub. This was very unusual, as it normally was bustling with activity at this time, getting ready for opening.
As he walked into the club, he also realised that the bouncers weren't in front of the entrance like usual. He became wary and entered the building slowly, heightening his senses.In the middle of the lower club hall, Wang Lei was tied up, along with several other of his people.Standing next to him was Luo Feng.
He was accompanied by at least 30 men who surrounded them, who were armed with metal pipes and bats. One of these men stood apart from the rest and was dressed in ancient clothing, similar to the main character in Ip Man.
"Hehe. Li Qiang, how do you like my surprise?"
"You dumb f*aggot, this is clearly against gang rules! You're done! After this every gang in Hainan will be out for your head!"
Wang Lei roared at Luo Feng.
"Kick him again. This little sh*t can't fucking keep quiet."
A henchman of Luo Feng drove his foot deep into the bruised and battered Wang Lei's stomach.
"Li Qiang. I used Wang Lei to call you over because I want to work with you. I will pay you 100,000 Yuan a month to be my right-hand man. We can set aside our differences and together with me and Mr. Long, we will conquer Shenyang."
Luo Feng and Wang Lei stared at Li Qiang, awaiting his decision in trepidation.Li Qiang thought about his offer. Li Qiang wasn't a part of Wang Lei's gang nor was he particular close with him. He merely worked with him a few times. 100,000 was very attractive, as normally he got about 50,000 to 60,000 a month from being hired by many different gangs.
"I want 120,000. And I will only fight once a week."
"Done."
Luo Feng immediately agreed.
"Hahaha, great, great!"
Luo Feng was jubilant.
"With Dragon Long and Monster Qiang, I will soon unify the gangs of Shenyang!"
On the other hand, Wang Lei's face turned grey.
"Li Qiang, you dog! Changing your colours so quickly, you're a f*cking chameleon!"
Luo Feng cut in.
"Shut the little shit up. Don't worry Mr. Qiang, I will deal with our dear Wang Lei."
He signalled to his men.
"Give Mr. Qiang our contact details."
Li Qiang looked at the miserable Wang Lei but could be bothered to defend himself. He never saw Wang Lei as a friend, just a business partner. He naturally wouldn't fight over 30 armed men to save him. He turned and walked away.
