this story takes place in the late summer of 2099 the 3 year student Synnyia Eynnixa attends a college that is for students with magical abilities and is off the coast of Zynnkia in a far away country of Xynnyakai

The sports school hired 30 coaching assistants, including Dai Li. In the meeting room, the HR manager was holding an employment contract in his hand as he said, "After you sign this trial contract, you are in the three-month trial period. I won't say anything else about discipline, I've said enough. During the trial period, your salary will be 800 yuan per month. The formal contract of employment will be signed after the trial period. Everybody should try their best. I can fire you whenever I want if I feel your performance isn't good enough during the trial period!"
Somebody immediately whispered, "It's already June. The summer holiday is around the corner. I bet we don't have a lot of work to do during the holiday, which would mean that we only really only have a one-month trial period."
"You are right. The best thing about being a teacher is that we can rest for three months during the summer and winter holidays every year and get paid," another person said in agreement.
The HR manager stood on the platform and said, "You might think that there won't be too much work to do since the next two months are the summer holiday, and that nobody will be fired. I must tell you that you are completely wrong. The following two months are what will really matter to you!" His words got everybody's attention. All the new employees stopped their writing and looked at the manager.
He stopped for a second, almost as if to add dramatic effect to arouse people's interest, and then continued, "There isn't much time left before the summer holiday. Our school will organize a few training classes in the next two months, and all the new coaching assistants have to be a part of it. We'll decide if you can stay or not directly based on your performance."
According to the rules, public schools were not allowed to organize training classes. However, the sports school was different from other public schools since it was a place for cultivating athletes. A lot of students in the sports school came from selection exams. The school could use these exams to organize and open training classes during the holidays to make some extra cash.
Many people became very nervous after hearing "open training classes." The main job for the new coaching assistants was to train athletes. It made them nervous knowing that they were going to enter the front line of training when they still didn't have enough experience. On top of that, they would be evaluated to see if they could stay or not based off of it.
Unlike the others, Dai Li was excited to begin. The last thing he was worried about was training since he had the Coaching System to help him. He was actually hoping that the training would start as soon as possible so he could get enough empirical value to upgrade to the next level.

"Li, look over this material and print it out!"
"Li, this is the summary of last year's work. Follow this form and make a summary for this year."
"Li, make an excel sheet of this name list and give it to me."
"Li, this is what I'm going to apply for. Fill out an application. We need to ask for something from the general department."
"Li, this is the list of names with contacts on it that the admissions office just sent to us. Make it into an excel sheet and email it to the training department."
Dai Li was very busy, not because of his extraordinary ability, but because he was a college student.
In the normal job market, college students were similar to stray dogs, and masters were everywhere. Even PhD students were not difficult to find. A person with an undergraduate degree did not rank high on the job market. However, here in the sports school, an undergraduate degree was the highest rank achievable. Many of the coaches here were retired athletes who focused mainly on training instead of studying. All they were able to do was sit in front of the computer and click their mouse to surf the internet, watch movies, and play games. Most of them didn't even know how to use Microsoft Office. If one of them had been asked to write a summary, they wouldn't be able to write more than 200 or 300 words.
This was Dai Li's area of expertise. All work that involved a computer was given to him. The assistants with less of an education could only apply themselves to physical labor.
After a few days of working, Dai Li had a general idea of the summer training class that was about to start. There were several sports projects in this class. The most popular ones were table tennis class and basketball class. Most of the students who had signed up for table tennis were primary school students. As for basketball, most of them were middle school students. There weren't many high school students since studying occupied most of their time. The only one class that had them was the 100m sprint training class. It targeted high school students who were about to start their third year and whose goal was to take the track and field competition for national second-class athletes in September to receive their certificates.
The certificate of national second-class athlete was very important for the graduating students who wanted to take the college entrance exam. As long as they could get the certificate, they would be qualified to take the special exam for sports held by key colleges. If they were lucky enough, they might even be able to be admitted to the college with a score of 100 points. And even if they didn't pass the special exam, they could still become sports talent students. With the ability a national second-class athlete possessed, it wouldn't be very difficult for them to be a sports talent student and enter the college.
Besides, there was a policy in place where if a graduating student had the certificate of national second-class athlete, then he or she could enjoy the benefit of 20 additional points. Even one point on the exam could help you eliminate hundreds of thousands of competing applicants. Twenty points was a big enough deal to attract most of the examinees.
This wasn't the only benefit, either. The training fee was pretty high—15,000 yuan for two months, which meant 250 yuan per day. In first-tier cities, the price might have been less of a worry. However, in Yuzhou City, a fourth-tier city, the price was too high for most parents with normal incomes.
It was not easy to become a national second-class athlete, even if the training period was two months complete with full days of training. The students had to have some basic sports ability to achieve the goal. It would take forever for those with muscle imbalances to achieve such a feat. The 100m race was chosen because it was the easiest one both for students and coaches. At least for the level of national second-class athlete, there weren't many difficult movements to master.
Time flew by, and by July all the students were ready for the holiday. The sports training class was also ready to welcome the new students.


How could a poor graduate student without any background or connections become successful? With a coaching system? An upgrade? This is not a computer game, but real life we’re talking about!

    They couldn't take a full-body picture of Qin Guan though, because it might be too small for the audience. They discussed it and finally decided to take a photo from his knees up.

    A nude picture would be even better. Sister Xue asked Qin Guan to take off his coat and expose his abdominal muscles and V-line. She unfastened the first button of his jeans and pulled them down a little. Perfect! They would lure the audience with his sexy body. It was so cunning!

    When the photos were finished, as a sophisticated lady who had seen countless beauties, Sister Xue believed that she would have been fascinated by Qin Guan. She counted 10 bills and handed them to the photographer, who had cooperated with her gladly. "Thank you! You’re welcome back anytime."

    Once he finished the post-production, the photographer would call Sister Xue. Until then, Qin Guan could relax. A lot of affairs had come up recently, and Qin Guan had been busy as a bee. Now he could finally make some testing papers for Huang Jiajia.

His courses were much easier for her than they used to be. Huang Jiajia was no longer a rebel, but a very smart lady.

    Her vigor in studying shamed Qin Guan. She had asked her mother to register for several lessons after school. As she corrected her mistakes, she had attracted the attention of her teachers at school. A hard-working student was welcome everywhere, even in a school with a low enrolment rate. As a result, the teachers had begun to focus on Huang Jiajia both in and out of class. By getting help from both sides, Huang Jiajia’s scores had been getting better and better.

    Qin Guan returned to his dormitory and worked on the papers for Huang Jiagia during his leisure time.  He would test her that weekend.

    Before the weekend, Qin Guan’s date request was turned down by Cong Nianwei once again. Irritated by his roommates’ displays of affection in the dormitory, Qin Guan took the papers and headed for Huang Jiajia's home to avoid beating his friends up.

    Qin Guan entered Huang Jiajia's home and found her sitting at the table quietly with her pen and draft paper. This will be my last chance to earn his praise. It was their last lesson before the General Examinations and the finals. It was showdown.  

    Qin Guan spread the papers on the table. "My papers include less subjects than your examination. Luckily, these courses are focusing on memory. You can work on them yourself. Today we’ll focus on the five main subjects. Let's start with Chinese." Huang Jiajia nodded eagerly and picked up the first paper. Lowering her head, she began to write quickly. Meanwhile, Qin Guan read a book beside her.

    June was drawing near, and the temperature was getting higher and higher, signalling the arrival of summer vacation. However, before the summer holidays, students had to go through the examination period.

    There was also a heated competition for the scholarship that semester. For Qin Guan, who had a balance of more than 30,000 yuan, that scholarship was still a large source of income. All that money was his reward for working hard and his capital for launching his business. As a young man, I can only gradually accumulate a limited capital.

    The leaves outside the windows rustled in the breeze as an early summer cicada sang along, joining their private celebration.

    Under the yellow lights inside the house, two figures were sitting at a table. One of them was writing swiftly while the other was reading carefully. What a peaceful time!

    When Huang Jiajia finished writing, Qin Guan looked up from his book. He corrected her papers with a red ballpoint pen as Huang Jiajia craned her neck to look, sitting on pins and needles.

    The test would reflect her level in the General Examination in a way, and the result of the General Examination would affect her chances of getting treated to snacks by Qin Guan and dating him. Actually, Huang Jiajia was over-thinking things. The General Examination would only cover the most basic knowledge points of the textbooks.

    When Qin Guan was done, Huang Jiajia was pleased by the results.

    Math: 88
    English: 92
    Chemistry: 90
    Science: 91
    Except for Math, all her other scores were above 90. Her total score was 459, which meant that she could possibly enroll at a community college.

Huang Jiajia was really excited. Although she hadn’t passed Math, she had made great progress. She was just thinking of acting like a spoiled child and begging Qin Guan for praise, when he looked at his watch and stood up. It was not early for him, so he planned to leave. They would meet again after Huang Jiajia had taken the General Examination. 

Huang Jiajia was both angry and disappointed. Qin Guan’s mind was occupied by his courses, his part-time jobs and Cong Nianwei, so she had failed to find a way in.

    She threw her teddy bear on the floor with force. I hate him and love him at the same time! He’s such a simple-minded man, both in my reach and out of it... As Huang Jiajia thought about how she had gotten along with Qin Guan, she picked up her teddy bear again and held it in her arms.

    Unaware that he had broken her young heart, Qin Guan was riding his shabby bicycle on his way back to college. Huang Jiajia’s good scores had given him a sense of achievement that had healed the wound caused by Cong Nianwei. He parked his bike and returned to his dormitory with his books.

    All his roommates were studying inside. What cunning boys! They pretended to be at ease in the classroom, but reverted to their original status when they came back home. They were the most annoying students in the whole college. They acted relaxed before others, smiling about their high scores as they said, "It was unexpected! I was only listening to the tutor randomly. How could I have gotten such a high score?"

"You look scared, what's wrong?" I heard Toby's voice ask with a small laugh. It startled me, making me blink a few times in shock before I turned to look at him. It was Monday morning and the start of the summer school season. We were standing in the school hall with a bunch of other teachers, watching students walk in. Most of them looked tired and irritated — like they'd been forced out of bed and instructed to come to school —which probably wasn't too far from the truth. Many people took summer classes because they'd failed them during the year, and not just because they liked learning during the holidays.

"They look like this every year," Mr. Philip, the physics teacher said, laughing as he walked by us and towards the hallway that led to the offices belonging to science teachers. Toby laughed, before motioning for me to follow him, and we headed to the art room together.

"We're lucky because we don't have to walk from classroom to classroom since all at classes are held right here," he said with, as he spread out his hands motioning to the wide room. He looked refreshed today. His brown eyes were wide and looked excited, and his face had more color than before. His brown curls were also shorter and cupped around his face more smoothly - a haircut?

I looked around the art room, a little confused about where to sit. I wasn't a student anymore, but the desks set up in the room belonged to MR. Dave, Mr. Steve, and Toby respectfully.

"You can sit by Dave's desk," I heard Toby say, answering my unasked question. I muttered a 'thank you' before heading to the seat. The feeling I had when I did was both odd and satisfying. Mr. Dave's desk was decorated with stickers and engravings — personalization at its best. I smiled, spotting some of the scribbles and carvings that belonged to students.

Chelsea was here, 2009.

As I read the messy engraving I started to wonder how long Mr. Dave had been working behind the desk I was now sitting by as a teacher.

"He's very restless." Toby's words made me turn to him. He was writing something down on a notepad, the odd way he held his pen like it was a brush made me smile a bit.

Little things.

Little things that I noticed about him were endearing to me.

"He scribbles on everything he can get his hands on, you should see his report folder. He's restless, but aren't we all?" Toby laughed in that small lisp way of his — like it was a part whisper and a part chuckle. He paused what he was doing, looking at nothing in particular as he continued talking. "It's an artist thing I suppose, manifesting in us in different ways. Dave's might be scribbling at everything in sight, and mine might be being overly organized."

I smiled at that, humming in agreement as I picked the bag I'd put down on the floor when I took a seat. I fished for my schedule, finding it and reading through it to see that I only had one class today. I turned towards Toby again, watching him type, and I noted that look of concentration was on his face where he frowned a bit and bit his bottom lip. I soon looked away, deciding to go through my phone. I was a bit shocked to see I had a message from a while ago — I barely got those if I didn't count the ones from my parents, and a certain kind of awkwardness seemed to emit from the phone in my hands when I realized it was from Wyatt as well.

WYATT:

I put my phone away after sending the reply, deciding that I should spend the free time I had sketching my composition for a painting I was going to do in the future. I carried my drawing pad and pencils everywhere with me, so they were always within reach. I took them out of my backpack and started working on the painting's concept. I was soon in my own little world, drawing and humming like I was in the art room with my mother when she played here old school house songs with her music player. I didn't realize when Toby came up behind me, and it was when he leaned forward and took hold of the table's edge that I sat up in shock, looking up to stare at him in confusion.

"I wanted to see what you were doing," he said, smiling lightly before turning his attention to my sketch. "It's well done, like always. What's it for?"

I looked away from him to turn to my drawing of a stumbling horse. I shrugged at it, trying to swallow the feeling of my heart racing before answering Toby's question. "It's a composition for an exhibition on movement. I'm going to have a couple of paintings displayed with my mum's soon."

"Oh," he said in response, leaning away from me. The action gave me an odd feeling. It felt like a mixture of relief and disappointment.

I turned to find that he'd made his way back to his table and was now typing into his laptop. "I thought it was for your college portfolio," he suddenly said.

"I've already submitted that," I said, turning away from him to face the sketch in front of me. In a way, I felt like the horse in the drawing but stumbling over feeling and words instead of rocks.

"That's good, head start and all. A lot of people don't finalize their portfolio till the week before college starts," he said, the art room falling into a think silence after his last word. For several minutes the only sound in the room was the sound of my pencil moving against my drawing pad and the sound of Toby's noisy laptop keyboard.

You're not going to get very far if you don't talk to him at least. A voice in my head said. I sighed, pausing what I was doing to turn towards him. Toby was writing something down, but I wasn't sure what. I opened my mouth but closed it when I realized I didn't have anything specific to say.

Come on. I scolded myself, feeling my hands shake. Why are you like this?

"Is something wrong?" Toby's voice made me turn towards his table again. I shook my head at his curious expression, running a hand through my hair as I watched him replace the look with an unconvinced one.

"No, I just wanted to ask you how college was like for you," I said, trying to sway the conversation to another direction. I watched as his lips let out a small 'oh' before he ran a hand through his hair, the strands of hair falling back into place immediately after. I frowned, thinking that was an odd response.

"It was fine," he finally muttered after a while, shrugging as he turned back to his laptop to continue typing.

"Just fine?" I asked, watching as he sighed before leaning back in his chair.

"Yeah, just fine," he repeated, making me nod my head before turning away. I didn't want to come off as nosy.

"I enjoyed my course. I love arts, but I made a mistake along the line. I wanted to do my masters I that university right after, but along the line, I got desperate to leave the university altogether. Yeah, so there's that..." Toby ended up rambling when I hadn't questioned him further. I frowned a bit, wondering what to say to that, but the sound of the art room's door swinging open made me turn towards it to find five students walking in. I looked over at my schedule that I'd placed beside my drawing pad on the desk, and I realized that it was a class Toby was taking, not me.

He got up, leaving what he'd said hanging in the air. I watched as he put on a smile to greet the students as they settled down on donkey benches, but his facial expression looked out of place - slightly nauseous, like he'd opened a can of bad sardines.

I shook my head, wondering why I was over thinking things before returning to my waiting sketch. Later in the day, I got to take a soon to be freshmen class. The students were grumpy at first, but they soon warmed up to me. It was great, seeing as I don't know what I would have done if they hadn't.

"Good job today," Toby told me as I packed up my things at the end of the school day. I thanked him in a low tone before adjusting the straps of my backpack and leaving the art room. I felt for my phone in my pocket when I felt it vibrate against my thigh. Taking it out, I saw that it was another text from Wyatt.

WYATT:

Are you done?

ME:

Yeah.

2:07 PM.

I ended up typing and pressing send. I soon found smiling soon after. Wyatt and I weren't really talking yet, but it was a start. I liked the short texts — I could get used to them.

I took the bus home, letting myself look out the window and watch the passing scenery. I soon found myself thinking back to what Toby had said.

"Fine."

I sighed, resting my head against the window. I was probably overthinking things. For instance, the mistake might not be as grave as I thought it was. A missed assignment, maybe?

The bus stopped at my bus stop a few minutes after and walked the rest of the way home to be greeted by my sisters and parents asking me questions. Sometime in the evening, Wyatt asked Xander and I if we were up for watching a movie with him, and we agreed. We didn't talk too much during the movie — just exchanged basic questions and answers, but it felt comfortable - nice, and I was able to take my mind off over overthinking things in the process. If Toby wanted to tell me more about his experience, he'll tell me in his own time.

However, regardless of how unsettled at heart he was, the situation was already cast in stone. He had already placed the chips for this huge gamble. After today, most of the examinations would be over. He could not even regret it if he wanted to, let alone feel uneasy.
"Principal Meng, will there be a surprise?" The form teacher quickly took out a handkerchief. He was wiping it hard on his forehead and face continuously. 
The heat from the sun in the summer of July was very strong. The temperature outside was so high that it could literally boil someone alive. The form teacher who was already troubled and vexed had to listen to the sound of the cicada continuously chirping. He felt so annoyed as if he had a ball of entangled wool in his heart. 
Within a short time, the clothing of the form teacher was so drenched that they were plastered on both his chest and back.
"Alright, I've already done my best in this matter. We'll have to leave the rest to destiny." Principal Meng gave out a long sigh. "We have already kept a very tight rein on this cohort of third-year students. Basically, the teachers have given them all the revision that they could. If we continued to let the form teachers hold the ford in the last seven remaining days, the outcome of the revision would be as such. Even if the outcome is not pleasing, actually, it has nothing much to do with Qiao Nan."
Principal Meng had certainly gambled and he took a huge one. Nevertheless, he was not doing it haphazardly.
At the end of last year, the school had already completed teaching the curriculum of the third-year students. They had already begun with the revision thereafter.
In terms of the revision content and momentum that the subject teachers could give to the students, they had done their utmost. It could be said that if Qiao Nan did not help the third-year students spot questions in the remaining seven days, the subject teachers could not make much of a difference either. These seven days could completely be given to the students for self-study to discover what else was lacking and make up for it.
It was just that, when one suddenly heard that the last critical seven days before the college entrance examination was handed to a second-year student, they felt that it was both unbelievable and unimaginable.
The problem did not lie with time. Instead, it was the identity of Qiao Nan as a second-year student.
"Right, right, right. What the principal said is correct." After the form teacher wiped away the sweat on his head, he thought about it and agreed. If they had not encountered a situation such as Qiao Nan's case, those last seven days would have been arranged by the students themselves. The three days of the college entrance examination were truly torturous.
Not to mention that it was terrible for those who participated in the college entrance examination, even their family members at home were nearly driven mad by the hot weather.
There were many who went into the examination hall standing but came out on the stretcher, or vomited and felt dizzy immediately upon leaving the hall.
The weather in July was really terrible. The college entrance examination was also terrible. The combination of the two was extremely terrible.
"Ah, you're not worried at all?" Shi Qing, who was at home, just moved a little and her whole body felt drenched as if she had just come out from the waters.
Qiao Nan paused her writing and rolled her eyes at Shi Qing, who was hoarding the entire fan. "Please, your house is next door and not here. Are you addicted to being lazy? If you really want to stay at my house, fine, bring over the fan in your house!!!"
Shi Qing had been standing in front of the fan and she did not let the fan oscillate. Would Qiao Nan not feel hot?
"Slow." Shi Qing continued to enjoy herself by standing in front of the fan. "I've already hogged it for five minutes and you only discovered it now. So, actually, you'll be fine without the fan. You won't feel hot if you're calm at heart. It's so troublesome to move the fan to and fro my house. I'll perspire so much if I move again. It's too horrible."
"You're not as focused and you're still blaming it on others?" Shi Peng was off work and did not go home first. Instead, he came to the house of the Qiao family to pick his daughter up.
In actual fact, after Shi Peng took on the job in the government sector, to Shi Qing, there were not many changes in her life. At most, she was now sleeping in another bed.
As for her meals, she continued to settle them at the house of the Qiao family.
In terms of cooking, Shi Peng knew a little but not much. Furthermore, Shi Qing and Qiao Nan normally stayed in the school. It was quite troublesome to cook for himself.
Hence, when Shi Qing and Qiao Nan were in school, Qiao Dongliang had an additional meal buddy, namely Shi Peng.
At the sight of the situation, Qiao Nan rolled her eyes with displeasure.

Qiao Nan stares at the well-built man in front of her. He has firm abs and cold, chilling eyes. She swallows the lump in her throat as she says her greetings, "Good Morning, Chief!"

Lu Zhiyu's first impression of Finnlit was that there were workshops everywhere, including military workshops, steelmaking workshops, metallurgical workshops and a large number of handicraft workshops. Among these workshops, workers had become the most important and the largest class in Finnlit.
"The best cotton garments, whether they are coats, hats, or women's long dresses and underwear... Our shop has it all!" an apprentice shouted at the door of a garment store.
"Look at this hat. It's so beautiful!" Several black-haired Tuten girls with thin noses and big eyes were gathered at the display window of the garment store, chattering and laughing.
"Do you want a new type of steam lamp? We also have various handcrafts and artistic ornaments, as well as vases and music boxes from the West!" another peddler proclaimed.
"The clocks of Hood's Watch Workshop are the most famous in Finnlit!" a watch workshop staffer called out.
Seeing this shop, Lu Zhiyu suddenly recalled Lars Brown, the son of the watchmaker. With the changes brought about by the steam engines affecting the whole world, Lars' reputation was growing. Even in the Sean City-State Alliance, where the Brown family had become notorious because of Jonathan Brown, people were starting to admire Lars more and more.
On the square of Akkad Alchemy College, besides the statue of Akkad, a statue of Lars had recently been erected. Just as Lars had looked up at the statue of Akkad, all of the students who entered Akkad Alchemy College now looked up to his face and were motivated by his story!
"Carol's Grocery Store! Beer, bread, coffee and black tea from Tuten..." Lu Zhiyu had just passed a grocery store.
As machines had gradually replaced manual operations, a large number of new commodities had flooded the market. The biggest change was in clothing. 
Most people could now afford to wear decent clothes, which was impossible hundreds of years ago, or even decades ago. Along with these changes, workshop owners gradually became the most powerful and wealthiest group of people besides the aristocracy!
Also, the pollution here was not as bad as Lu Zhiyu had imagined. This was because, after the city had been built, an underground drainage and sewage system had also been implemented, and many public toilets could be seen along the road.
However, because a lot of wastewater discharge had polluted the Pegasus River, the stench became a problem for all of the residents in the city. The black smoke from the chimneys of the workshops also filled the sky, making the clouds gray, which caused a lot of the people who came here for the first time to feel suffocated.
In addition, the large number of people now flowing into Finnlit had brought tremendous pressure on the wastage system of the city. As a result, some of the main streets were very cleaned, while others were piled high with garbage.
"Please give us something to eat. We haven't had anything for several days!" Several children pulled Lu Zhiyu's coat, while another child was waiting for the opportunity to steal some money from his pocket.
"I'll give you a fair price for a night, sir!" Several women in suggestive clothing waved to Lu Zhiyu.
As Lu Zhiyu crossed this dirty road, he found the dark world under the light. The coming of the steam age had brought not only wealth and progress, but also poverty and exploitation.
Lu Zhiyu could see a large number of exploited workers and skinny children, as well as gangsters running wild. Many people, in order to make a living, even had to let their wives become streetwalkers. This area was clearly the dark side of Finnlit.
As Lu Zhiyu toured Finnlitt, he felt the changing atmosphere of the times and started thinking about the future of Maria's World...
What kind of world will this world become?
After touring the city, Lu Zhiyu went directly to the city hall in the center of the city, through which was the congress castle, the political center of Sean City-State Alliance. The Prime Minister and the Parliament held important conferences here, and the Prime Minister and the Cabinet worked here.
The title of Prime Minister was originally the name of the archon when the Tuten Dynasty had a monarch. Now, even though there was no monarch, the role of Prime Minister had still been retained.
At the moment, there was a special meeting being conducted in the congress castle. This was actually one of the purposes for Lu Zhiyu's coming here, as he journeyed here to not only see the steam trend in Sean City-State Alliance, but also to meet some familiar people.
As Lu Zhiyu passed through the lobby of the congress castle, the guards at the entrance and the inspecting alchemists turned a blind eye to him. The castle was five stories high and had a large number of officers, soldiers, and public officials, all of whom were gathering here to maintain the smooth operations of the whole Sean City-State Alliance.
In a conference room on the fourth floor, Lu Zhiyu pushed open the side door and entered, then immediately sat in the back. Within this room were many extraordinary people from all over the world, including wizards, alchemists, orc wizards and even some officials of Sean City-State Alliance. At the moment, everyone was focusing on the discussion that was unfolding at the central conference table...
"What is the future of our wizards? Do we even have a future? The critical moment for making changes has arrived, and the time to decide the future of the wizards has come. We must make a decision immediately. Otherwise, we will have no future. Wizards are likely to become a flash in the pan of history and gradually withdraw from the stage of history entirely. This is absolutely unacceptable to us!" At the table, Edward Kelermo was seriously speaking to everyone present about the future of the wizards, a topic that all the extraordinary people present took very seriously.
The other people at the table were the legendary alchemist Marina Bossey, the thousand-sided illusionary technique wizard Catherine, the orc wizard Felix Bliss, who was also dean of Colossus College, as well as four other level four wizards that Lu Zhiyu didn't know very well.
Most importantly, the Prime Minister of Sean City-State Alliance was among them. The Sean City-State Alliance was the only area in the Alen Continent that had not been touched by the gods.
It was also the area that had embraced the wizards the most readily. This was the exact reason why Edward, Catherine, and Felix had chosen to hold this meeting here, as the attitude of Sean City-State Alliance was important to them.


By accident, Lu Zhiyu found the entrance to a low-dimensional world, and thus began a totally different journey!

Free to control everything in the low-dimensional game, Lu Zhiyu felt like a gamemaster, and even God.


EIGHT YEARS BEFORE

"FIVE SIX SEVEN EIGHT!

AND…. 
SPLIT"

"Wohoooooo! Good job guys!" says Anne clapping her hands. She's a part-time fitness trainer. Suddenly her phone rings, 'it's me mommy' (the ringtone). Everyone around is envious of Anne to be soo good looking and young even though she is a mother of a one year old child. "Hello! What happened Kathy? You know I am at work…" "well Anne, Baby Gia is running a fever all of a sudden. I am rushing towards the First Hospital. Call me when you reach there." Not giving Anne a chance to speak, she says and ends the call. Anne panics for a second and recollects that this is the 3rd time in the past two months that Gia is running a fever. She instantly dismisses class and rushes to hospital without changing out of her black track pants and grey tee. 
She sits in her Audi R8 and starts the car. Rushes to the hospital as fast as she could. She enters the hospital and spots Kathy in the waiting line. She goes to her and takes Gia in her arms. "Sorry baby mumma couldn't take care of you. I promise I won't leave you now. I'd be with you always." Gia is in her sleep. Feeling the warmth of her mother's chest she snuggles to sleep. "Kathy thanks a lot for taking care of her. You must rush home and complete your work. I remember the submission is today at 11 p.m. I am here to take care of Gia." Kathy nods in agreement and takes a last look at Anne and Gia and says, "take care of yourself as well. You can barge into my house anytime. Don't stress yourself out." With this Kathy leaves. 

After waiting for another 20 minutes, the receptionist calls for Anne. Anne goes with baby Gia in the doctor's cabin. "Doctor this is the third time my child has got a fever please check and please tell me where I am wrong. I am a fitness instructor but I can't take care of my own child. How ignorant of me!" She is in tears. 

Doctor Luna has known Anne for the past two years. She diagnosed that Anne's fetus is unstable and then she was with her in the journey of nine months. She saw Anne from being dependent on her husband for her daughter's sake to divorcing him and giving birth to Gia all alone. She knows that Anne would blame herself for everything related to Gia. She sighs and says "Anne, Relax. Take a deep breath. You aren't ignorant. You did your part well. It's just that Gia's immunity is a bit weak and she gets affected due to the cold. Argh! The weather these days…..!" 

"Are you sure, doctor?" she asks and then bites her tongue. 'Anne she is a doctor. Not you!' "doctor please tell me what to do and how to take care of her more. I can't bear to see her in pain."

"Anne.. Relax. I have written down the meds. She'll be fine. But this time Anne did you keep the Air Conditioning on for a long time? Remember, babies aren't supposed to be under the AC."

"Okay doctor. I'll keep it in my mind. Thank you."

"Have a good day Anne. Relax. Everything is alright. Gia will wake up soon."

"Thank you Doctor." She smiles and leaves the cabin. She pays the bill at the cash counter and turns to leave.  

As she walks she ponders over what Doctor Luna said.. 'AC? When did I turn it on? And then she realises something… 'Kathy must've turned it on.. Oh! How did I forget that.. She is always using the AC! I can't blame her.She doing a favour on me by taking care of Gia. No. I have to figure out something else. She thinks of her everyday routine, which is so unstable. She's running from one place to another. She wakes up at 4:30 in the morning. She takes Gia with her to Kathy's place and leaves Gia in Kathy's care. She works as a fitness instructor in the morning- her classes start at 5:00 a.m. and go on till 8:30. She rushes home to take a bath and get ready for work. She is a senior content writer at 'THE NINJA'. She works there for a 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. shift.  After that she sets off to her own office. Yes! Anne has a company of her own. She started off as a small firm in her college days but with her hardwork and dedication 'THE WRITING SPACE' Anne's company entered the top 20 list of successful businesses in a short time. Kathy works in Anne's company as a senior Editor. 'The Writing Space' is a place for all Literature lovers. The company has hired professional critics, content writers, content editors, proof-readers and opens up an internship for college students every summer. Anne owns this Company and makes a seven digit profit after sharing the profit with her employees. She invests largely in the share market and earns money. Even after all this, she isn't satisfied. She wants to earn enough money for her daughter's education, future, hobbies, marriage, every demand Gia has, it must be fulfilled by her.'

I must stop the classes in the morning and take an all time work-from-home from 'The Ninja'. As for The Writing Space, her office is just one lane down her apartment. She can take Gia to her office and take care of her.' 

She spots a medical shop and buys the medicines for Gia. She then takes a lift and reaches in the parking lot and walks towards her car. She makes Gia sit well on the passenger seat and secures her with safety belts. She walks towards the driver's seat and starts the car. She keeps the temperature in the car warm and drives towards her apartment. She lives in a two bedroom-hall-kitchen flat on the third floor. She puts in the password and enters the house.

I was as far as the 7th month when one day, accidentally mine and Stephen’s mobile phones got exchanged. He put a password on his mobile but forgot about the notifications and then I saw a text from you. “Let’s meet over a coffee??” (along with a winking emoticon). I had just visited my gynaecologist who told me my baby was healthy. I had a hunch for a long time that Stephen had an affair and your message confirmed it. It’s so amazing that one harmless emoticon could shatter someone’s life and family forever.

A family inclined to kindness and charity would grace the descendants.
Thanks to one small act of kindness,
by providence she comes across a grateful friend;
Fortunate that her mother,
has done an unperceived good deed….

Men should rescue the distressed and aid the poor…
Who would have guessed that kindness in this world ultimately would be the road that one must choose, that proverbial fork in the road?

Clouds of rain float on eastern winds as new vines start to blossom.
Though drums of war roar too loudly and their brilliance has been lost,
a green grass carpet greets the sun by the break of morning.
Let us wait for the yellow leaves, a few gourds are harvested.

The two contestants were looking at each other, Harry was signaling her with his eyes to lose, to show in front of the entire grade, that the light would win over the dark.

Daphne looked back, her eyes unyielding and unwilling to lose.

Harry went all out for the first time, putting his full force into a final attack.

Daphne stared him down and raised her wand to defend, just barely managing to avoid being blown into the wall, instead, managing to skid back a few steps and counter, holding out against Harry for all she was worth, lashing back at the boy with all the force she could muster.

As Harry raised his wand again, another vicious spell no doubt at the tip of his wand, he found it flying out of his hand.

The young Potter looked at his opponent only to see Daphne wandless as well.

"I think that's quite enough, Daphne, Potter." Iliad said coolly, sending both of his students a look that promised that they were in trouble after the rest of the class had left.

Done with the dueling time, Iliad quickly set up dummies for the entire class to practice on, and they spent the rest of the lesson trying out all the spells they knew on the magically animated dummies which imitated human reactions.

At the end of the lesson, Iliad looked down at the temporary schedule he had been assigned, "I don't think you have any more classes for the rest of the day, there are some Quidditch activities which will be taking place this afternoon if any of you would like to participate in that, and I believe the Exploding Snap club has received permission to operate over the summer break already, so any members may attend their meetings following the same schedule as the regular school year. Feel free to relax as you like on the school premises, no rule breaking." Iliad finished before giving his daughter and Harry a look, "Daphne and Mr Potter, please stay back a few minutes after the end of the class, I would like to have a chat with the two of you."

Harry and Daphne nodded their understanding, waiting for the rest of the class to empty out before approaching their professor's desk.

"What was that?" the older Greengrass asked simply, "What was the point of that dangerous and reckless show that will have half the Slytherins in this class running to their mamas and papas with this information, who will undoubtedly pass on the magnitude of your strength to the Dark Lord?"

"Well," Harry started, "I wanted to show that The Light was clearly stronger than The Dark by beating the witch who is by far the strongest person in Slytherin right now."

Daphne glared back at him, "Like hell, I'd go down for such a stupid reason. As it is, the Greengrass family is not really seen as any kind of bastion of The Dark, and at the rate that things are going, there's no way we're even going to be able to stay neutral. We're going to be forced to declare our alliance with The Light publicly, especially after the attack on our Manor."

"Well, I thought-" Harry began.

"It doesn't matter what you thought, that was a bad move Potter, you're good but you're in no place to be getting cocky," Iliad said before getting up and drawing his wand, pointing it at his two students, "Come, show me whether there's anything behind that attitude of yours or whether it's all just hot air." the Greengrass Lord challenged.

What ensued was yet another furious duel. With Daphne at his side, who was intimately familiar with her father's fighting style, and he himself beginning to get a grasp on the powers that Iliad wielded, Harry, along with Daphne, was able to go toe to toe with Iliad for several minutes at his full strength.

While still pretty restrained from using the exact full extent of his powers in order not to shoot anything lethal at the two kids, Iliad used the extent of his magic and ability in the duel, and when Daphne was hurtled into a wall (which had been cushioned for the purpose of the duels taking place in the preceding class), and stupefied into unconsciousness, her mind faded to black with a sense of satisfaction.

After Daphne fell, it was only moments till Harry was taken out too, both of the children being awakened by Iliad after the end of the duel.

"Still weak," he commented dryly, but even Iliad couldn't block the small smile of pride that stretched across his face for a slight moment before he sent the two children off.

*** Summer at Hogwarts

Training with Iliad continued over the course of the summer, Hermione joined Harry and Daphne in the training as well.

By the end of the summer, the three of them could keep Iliad at bay almost indefinitely, almost always losing out to his greater stamina, but together being at par with the man, infrequently winning duels with some lucky shots in, but usually falling after stretching out the duel for any longer than half an hour.

While Iliad was not the strongest wizard out there, he was certainly still accomplished, and even standing on the same level as the seasoned Greengrass duelist was quite an achievement for 3 students barely about to start their fourth year, and already surpassing even the best that Hogwarts' seniors had to offer.

On the front of the war, there continued to be little progress for either side, as without Voldemort making an appearance, the forces of The Light continued to be just about enough to push back the relentless seemingly random attacks that The Dark kept on executing.

Albus and Arcturus were also usually busy, making only a handful of appearances at Hogwarts, leaving Iliad in charge of maintaining security, and poor Minerva in charge of handling the administration of the school as well as teaching several transfiguration classes, including recreational transfiguration workshops that she held for the students over the summer of her volition.

While their forces were very stretched, The Light had suffered very few casualties since the attack on the Hogwarts Express, and there was no doubt in the minds of anybody that The Dark Lord was planning something major, but nobody had any idea exactly what the insane wizard would do.
