This story is about a human-wolf family that is a girl and her 2 brothers. She is in a search for clues about why the human race try’s over and over to attack her village. She soon finds herself lost with her brothers in the human universe.

Though Arty didn't know where to start, there is one thing that she could focus on which is the source and the start of all this that made the story happen.

Finding the Fiery Blade.

And it was a good thing that she remembered clearly where it is, but the problem besides finding and getting it.

You have to go through a series of trials that would prove the worth of the heroine for the story.

'Easier said than done.'

Arty thought to herself as the years passed and she's now at the right age at 15 years old that she had written in the story where she'd be finding the magical weapon and then go through obstacles to prove her worth as its chosen wielder.

As a writer, she had written about the trials, but she hasn't completed all of them and started writing about what is going to happen because when she had written her story onto the new book, the story notes were first before the beginning chapters of the story.

'Sometimes, I wish that I was a fast-thinking and speedy writer back then.' Arty thought to herself again while she prepared her things to go on the journey to find the magical blade.

But it's lucky and fortunate for her that she remembered the clues to finding the Fiery Blade and that it's only four obstacle trials she'll have to fight through to get there.

Granted, during the years she had spent with her grandparents and Emyrie and her magician mother, she only learns and knows enough to live a normal life. But Arty knew that she'll have to play out the story in the way she had exactly written it before more unexpected changes come into like before with Prince Adrian.

Now that she's 15 years old, which is a legal age here in the world of Eden, she is ready to travel to town independently, and her family understood, despite that her grandparents will be mourning a little on her departure.

The young magician who's now about 13 years old wanted to go along with her in her travels but she was refused by her mother since she's still young and that she still needs to go to a magic academy first to harness her magic, before her coming of age.

Emyrie was disappointed and upset when her mother told her this, but she became happy when Arty had told her friend that they will exchange contact to each other by writing letters and that she can use her magic familiar, which is an owl, to send it back and forth even with the distances away from them.

Emyrie beamed with a wide smile at this and she hugged her tightly before helping Arty out to pack her things and other stuff that she needs to bring.

Arty's grandparents thought that the kind of new life their granddaughter will be partaking maybe a normal job in the town she's heading to, but they didn't know that Arty has other plans and she felt a little guilty in keeping it secret from them since they don't know that she'll be going in a dangerous journey ahead of her.

They also wanted to stay in contact too and Arty promise to do so, as she ignored the twinges of guilt inside herself, knowing that the path she's going to go might not have the means of communication to get back to her family.

Still, while on her adventures, she'll try her best so that they wouldn't worry about her before they caught wind of the truth that she won't be at the town village living or working a normal life there.

As Arty prepared her things, she also packed in the papers that held her secret plans and notes just in case she might forget something crucial or important of the story she's playing out and about to take on the role of the heroine.

When she was writing these papers, she made sure that they were all in different codes, just in case her grandparents, Emyrie or her mother might see them.

During those years and as time passed by when she wrote them, they all thought it's some childish gibberish or something. But Arty made sure to hide them away before they started to think otherwise that she might be hiding something from them.

Anyway, she's all packed and ready now to leave and her grandparents wished her safe travels as she goes to town and had given her a packed lunchbox in case she gets hungry on the way.

Arty appreciated the gesture even though she's lying to her own family about where she's actually going.

But this isn't her real life, this is her story, a story of magic and fantasy--not reality. And it doesn't help that she somehow became the main character of it, and in the ending, she will die when she fights the enemy.

So she had to mentally repeat in her head that she's just playing a role here until she discovers something or finds a way to return back to the real modern world.

Arty left, waving goodbye to her family and her friends and she walks down the path heading towards the town, needing to buy some supplies and other necessities for the trip she's planning to go through.

And so, she embarks on the journey to go through, on finding clues and going through the trials and obstacles to find and retrieve the magical weapon.

Then once she finds it and wields it as its chosen, Arteria Blaze and the Fiery Blade will be ready to tackle the world of Eden by storm and fight against the enemies and evil that plagues it.

Well, Althrough It may seem dumb, I'm writing this chapter in order to explain some things for the readers about this novel.



So, I think there are some readers that are probaly confused about the MC sudden change of thinking, and Then I'm here to explain It why.



And remember, even if this doesn't count as a big of spoiler, It Will Probaly make some readers triggered and so this is why I'm publishing this at volume zero.

Firstly, I put some small clues here and there about the MC sudden personality change, there are also a Lot of other clues that may impact the story greatly, and frankly I'm expecting that a Lot of readers can catch and understand them, by doing this, It means that I am writing my novel in the way that It's supposed to be written.



And finally, here It is. The reason about the change is because of the Michael's reincarnation as an InsectoDominus, his Human personality and his DoomInsect's are constantly in conflict. Althrough Michael started with his Human personality, the Shock from the near Death experience coupled with his enlightment towards his New life made the DoomInsect personality take over. This is why he seems calm and cold. You can even say that the main reason about DoomInsect personality taking over is because of his current life and Death situation where he can easily die by a stupid mistake. 



But unfortunately, Michael's state of mind is currently unstable, So you can expect sudden changes of personalities in the chapters. 


Volume 1 Will Focus on the MC adaption with his New body and life, while also developing his New personality by constantly playing with his mind and the overlay of the two personalities. Althrough he Will still be unstable even after volume 1 events. Hell, you can even say that Michael has some sort of an identity crisis!

This is my first time writing, well, in this site which I'm very new at, pft I don't even have a cover cause my laptop just suddenly broke out and I cant upload the cover currently.
This are the things that I think you readers should know.

There are things that are left to be not explained, currently. Because it will be just clues to the future things that will happen. So if there are things confusing, well, leave it confusing. But actually, there won't be that much mystery as how this just follows the canon of the story of Harry Potter.

Yes, I will follow the canon of the story. There might be a thing or two that will change, I won't be the author that will change the story entirely for the mc . He may be more talented as he got the plot's armour of course. But I won't be make the MC rebellious and such.

4. Dropping Chance
There will be a chance that I will drop this, and I already want you to know that. I only made this because of the time I have because of Covid19, I'm also writing other books in other sites, which if you add this one up, it's already 5 books I'm working at everyday. But the thing is, I treat the other three books seriously and doesn't publish it until I'm done with the whole story, and that's because I know how everything will play out. Not like this book and the other one book, where as I write, I get ideas while working on it. Might seems stupid but that's how I like it.

5. Copyright 
Of course, I don't own Harry Potter, I'm merely just using the story as m a fullfiller of my imagination and to spend time doing something and actually leveling my skills.

6. Mistakes
Yes, I'm a human, I do make mistakes. Such as grammars, spelling, and basically, my life is a mistake. I'm open for anything, I'm a laid back guy tbh, hate me like me, neither I care for really.

I'm not pursuing you to enjoy the story, give me some stones nor anything like that. I merely made this book for my satisfaction. And would like to share it with you guys for some idk reason.

7. If you find my story bothering, bad, or anything negative, please say it immediately. I mean, if your reason is rational. I'm very open to criticism, and even try to say how can I improve it, I would thankful to try it so. Even though Im writing five books, doesn't mean I'm already good. 8. Lastly, Ideas
I do know some readers here wants also their imagination or ideas to be fulfilled. That's a natural thing for readers to feel. Well, if someone do comment an idea that they want to happen. I may consider it or not consider it. That's one of the hard things in making a fan fiction that follows the canon. It's because you have to watch out for the things your MC will do, and it's consequences, you have to be logical, and things the MC should be always rational to continue with the plot. 

So I'm sorry if your idea doesn't get to happen. 
But then, I'm not expecting a lot of viewers. I once made a book on watpadd, when like, years ago, and hell it was already an achievement to get hundred viewers in it. 

Btw, when it comes to updating, idk even know if it will be frequent, even tho it's quarantine time I'm still busy af.

This is less an Analysis about myself and more about Authors as a whole. I only use myself as reference for the experiences a person can go through while attaining what some people call 'An Artistic Vision'.

But what is an artistic vision? I have gone through many stages as a writer, and the first step I took understanding why I love fiction was what made me less invested in a story filled with great themes but more entertained when events unfolding were simple.

My first work was a mess of a story that, when I look back to, didn't make any coherent sense except within the boundaries of my own mind. This is what taught me that writing with the thought of having another reading and giving feedback on my work was essentially a form of entertaining someone else with fiction.

So as a writer, was I supposed to be an entertainer catering to the masses? This opinion was cut down when I started to write a story that had every right to be able to catch people's eyes with how 'fresh and entertaining' it was, but suddenly found MYSELF not being invested by my story.

It was a strange paradox where what I was passionate about writing wasn't entertaining while the things that were more appealing and mainstream made what I thought to be a hobby more like self-imposed homework… and what everyone here can understand is that doing work is something a regular person would avoid if they were able to.

"I get no pay for becoming an 'entertainer', so why should I?" These were my thoughts as I continued to be on the line between writing for my audience and writing for my own amusement. Eventually, I came to a conclusion. 

"Why do I even write at all? Instead of writing something that definitely won't be a masterpiece, why don't I just read the well-known works of famous authors for my own amusement?" This thought became a unconscious thought, a worm burrowing into my mind without even realising it. I didn't even notice that I had already lost my qualification as an Author.

To write for oneself is to write a diary no one else would ever read. Although many unique ideas can come from writing this way, it ultimately lacks the understanding of readers that an Author shouldn't lack. 

To write for another is also not the right path to becoming one, as being too influenced by the opinions of others can make one fickle. A scene in your story you were proud of today could be something you want to delete tomorrow because it doesn't reach the perfection you are aiming for. If someone criticises some part of your work, then such thoughts will lead to an endless repetition of deleting and redoing pages.

The only way to overcome this paradoxical thought process is by having an artistic vision, and though I may be explaining it like it's an easy thing to achieve or something I fully grasp… In actuality, I don't…

The first artistic vision as a Author was to seek perfection in my storytelling, but the more I learnt about fiction, the more I learned of the purposeful imperfections in works that made them more memorable. To put it simply, even if an painter wants to add every colour of the world to a painting, it will only become jumbled mess if there isn't purpose behind what is being written into a story.

As an 'artist', I realised that I couldn't draw without inspiration to guide me. For I couldn't trust myself that the ideas I came up with by myself would even appeal to a wider audience. I experimented, and found that small touches made a story more worthwhile for my readers.

There was I time I wrote a story about reincartion and yet purposely left out key details about the character's past life like their name or age, even going so far as only including the parts the character was specifically affected by… The results were that a lot more people became invested in the main character's current life because there weren't two names distracting them for who the character currently was. 

They only knew the name of the character after reincarnation, and were therefore more closer to that character than any of the more 'perfected' characters I made before with literally their entire backstory spelled out for the reader.

It was then I remembered something that had truly become forgotten in my brain in the time I had been analysing tropes and what made story's appealing, I had forgotten that fiction wasn't 'art', but storytelling.

Subtext is created when the reader wants to know more about the characters themselves and looks for clues to figure out things that aren't explicitly 'told' to them. When a character is first introduced and they stutter in their interactions, it makes the reader unconsciously think that they aren't used to talking or are scared of something. When writing videos talk about 'show and not tell', it was THIS that they were referring to.

However, a story is essentially the Author 'telling' a reader a story through narration anyway, so how could I leave out information about a character's backstory in their introduction. The answer I found is that no real-life person is 'introduced' this way, most people I meet in real-life are those I can say I 'know' but only when talking about what I have found out about them at present.

It is through interacting that people know more about each other, but how can fictional characters inside my head form meaningful conversations when the entire point of them are to relay exposition that the narrator hasn't yet spoke of. It was hard to get past this problem as an artist, but as a storyteller, I found that the solution to this was changing who 'I' was interacting with.

I wasn't interacting with my characters, nor was I interacting with the fictional world I made. The true person I was interacting with was the individual I was narrating to… The person, who isn't me, that would read the text I was writing down to form a story.

Since I realised I was interacting with my readers through my narrations, I decided to switch things up and make them more lively. Instead of writing a summary of the events unfolding, I changed those events to fit the short attention span of new readers who wanted explosions every second, but as I followed along this path I realised that the 'narrations' I have became less genuine over time as story beats started feeling out of place and my own desire to write waned.

To become a storyteller isn't an easy thing, as I was still bound by the opinions of my audience. I became a comedian that tried to make my readers laugh, but found that my own laughter had died out in the process.

What was I supposed to do when becoming a storyteller was so much similar to becoming an entertainer? My answer was to go back to my roots and find out: What was I before an 'artist'?

I thought long and hard about it, then in a stroke of epiphany I had came to a conclusion: Was I not a kind of 'musician' that sought my own entertainment rather than the acceptance of others? Wasn't story's something I wrote purely for my own enjoyment?

And now, my artistic vision had matured. Rather than trying to 'entertain' an audience, I wanted the future me who had forgotten about my story to look back and enjoy it just as I have enjoyed the works of others.

Whether it be sci-fi, mystery, fantasy, or comedy… I want to look back on the story I told and see something that can make me feel emotions I had forgotten in the years that went by. If it's a Greek Tragedy, then I want to feel the helpless in knowing the flawed perspectives of the world that could caused the tragedy to happen.

Similar things could be said for mystery or fantasy. If I had a purpose when writing a story, then I don't want a glossary which either outright tells me about the world I built. Instead, I want to be entertained, moved, and more intrigued by the story anyone else!

After all, once I've finished writing the story, I am no longer the 'musician' or storyteller. I am the reader!

But even with this realisation, there was a chance I'd relapse if I didn't keep my previous lessons I learned in mind. If I was to chase 'perfection' again and think too hard about whether I'm talented or not, there wouldn't be any stories written to prove that I can overcome those who are only a tiny bit more talented than me but put in less effort.

If I sought too much for recognition and inspiration from outside sources, then I'd might as well send my work to a publisher rather than keeping my work a hobby.

And if I truly wanted to write a story that isn't going to be dropped, then I must plan a consistent story in mind that has a beginning and end. I could only choose to write for my future self rather than the readers that might or may not be interested in my work.

This is a story I worked on ages ago that has been refined and edited by adding foreshadowing to events while also simplifying the power system better than before. This story can be considered a prequel to An Adventure Beyond Greatness as it takes place years prior to the events of that story.

Short Synopsis:
After retiring from the battlefield, my life became empty and lifeless. The regrets of my past haunt me in my sleep. Then a change occurred, a King from another world summoned me to fight for his kingdom, but I died even before I could give him my answer. Now, after a fake God allowed me to reincarnate (albeit imperfectly) with my memories intact, into a world filled with magic and swords.

Long Synopsis:
This is about a flawed protagonist who only knew to rely on others and not socialise who gets a second chance to change himself in order to live the life he aimed for in his past life. The narrator isn’t exactly trustworthy since it is purely in his bias perspective while other perspectives given by others fill in the blanks that he either leaves out or twists to suit the situation.

The story itself can be considered a parody of Isekai’s classic tropes which are given a sense of reality as time goes by. As there exists no ‘Demon Lord’, there is also no black and white, only characters opinions and counter-opinions throughout the story.

Well… We've finally come to the end of Spirit Immortal. 

Hehe, I bet you guys didn't see it coming right? The cover of the book was actually the ending scene of the entire story! Haha, I did well to keep it under wraps for the two years I've been writing this story! Finally, I get to share it all with you!

For those that had stuck with me for the near two years, I've been posting Spirit Immortal… It's been quite the hell of a ride. There were many days where I wanted to quit writing this story and there were many times where I just wanted to say: "Fuck it! Let me just leave everything and just tell you the outline of Spirit Immortal straight up!" However, because of you guys, I gritted my teeth and completed the story. 

So… Before I begin the FINAL Author's Thoughts of Spirit Immortal, I want to give a huge thank you for all who supported me. Especially my Patrons, who had actually invested money into Spirit Immortal even though you guys didn't have to. There are some of you who have invested hundreds of dollars to support this project of mine and I don't know how else I could repay you for your continued support... 

Honestly, I lack the words to describe my gratitude, so I can only say this…

Thank you all for being the rock in my life, guiding me to complete the story that I dreamed about so many years back…

Alright, enough of the emotional stuff! Let's get to the real meat of the Author's Thoughts. This will be my longest Author's Thoughts yet so if you lack the time, you really don't have to read it all. However, for those that had read Spirit Immortal all the way, I'm sure that you'll find it all very interesting.

Let me divide it into sections first, just to keep me on track. Firstly, I'll be discussing the overall story of Spirit Immortal. How I conceived it from a theory that I had, the inspirations I took and ultimately… The ending that I'm sure only a percentage of you saw coming.

Secondly, I'll be talking about the challenges I had writing Spirit Immortal. My journey from a teenager in university that had no clue about how to write, to the man that I am now. The challenges that a new author in the web novel genre will come to face and hopefully, it'll teach any of you aspiring authors to not repeat the same mistakes that I'd made.

Thirdly, I'll be writing about the things that I would have done differently (ie, the things that I would want to do in future when writing future stories). Also, the lessons learnt that I wish to impart on my future self, as well as any budding authors reading this. 

Finally… I'm going to talk about my future works and how I'll be approaching writing web novels in the future.

It's going to be a long ride since I'll be trying to condense two years worth of experience into one document, so please bear with me.

Story of Spirit Immortal
As many of you know, I am a fan of Wuxia/Xianxia novels. They have played an integral part of my teenage life, giving me content to binge through while I rode through my schooling years. By now, you should be familiar with how I got into Wuxia/Xianxia, so I'll skip the long introduction and get to the reason why I imagined Spirit Immortal as a Wuxia.

I had a different take about Immortality than the other novels.

It was really as simple as that. In traditional novels, like Coiling Dragon or Doulou Dalu, the ultimate goal for the protagonist was to become an Immortal. Some even have realms above the Immortal Realm and they continually become stronger until they reach Godhood. It's a tale that we've all read before. However, my thoughts about Immortality are a little different.

I don't believe that Eternal Life exists. Or at the very least, not in the way Wuxia/Xianxia novels portray it. Let me explain.

What does Immortal mean? A literal definition means, not mortal. So, before we get to that, let's define what mortal means first. A mortal is any living thing that exists in reality, doing their best to continue their ultimate goal… To live. See, it doesn't matter if you are a human or a dog, a tree or a pig. We're all living creatures fighting against our final destination… death. As much as we don't like to admit it, all living things will die one day. That's what makes them 'living' in the first place. We have immune systems to protect against viruses. Possess various traits that will help us survive in our reality. Legs to run, arms to hunt, mouths to eat, sexual organs to reproduce…

All of these attributes are what makes us mortal. Which means that the desires that come from these attributes are also mortal desires. We hunger to live. We lust to reproduce and further on our genetic lineage. We anger to pump ourselves into action to defend our survival. Every single emotion that humans feel are linked to one main thing… To live. Even trees, which are effectively mortal, respond to changes and adapt to live. 

So what happens when you turn Immortal? All of our survival instincts, all of our desires that make us mortal… It all goes away. 

We will no longer want to do anything because we've already lost our most primal need to survive. Hunger becomes redundant since you won't die. Sexual desires disappear since there's no need for you to reproduce anymore. Feelings of anger, sadness, anxiety, fear… All of them would be stripped bare of any mortal. 

Once we become 'Immortal' we cease being 'Mortal'. Sounds stupid to say out loud, but in most cultivation novels, the protagonist becomes Immortal but still acts as a Mortal. Desiring to grow stronger even though he/she has obtained eternal life. Lusting over new girls in the new realm. Feeling emotions that no Immortal should have… All of these got me wondering…

How could I make a story about an Immortal with this logic that I have?

And then it hit me… The journey.

I have to make a journey tale, one where the protagonist starts from nothing and obtains everything that he'd ever thought possible. And it's not like the journey was perfect. Shin lost people on the way. Learned lessons from a myriad of characters. Took on the journey of life to become the 'perfect hero' that was slated to become the next 'Immortal.' And at the end of it all… He'll realise that Immortality was just a lie made up by humans to feel better about his mortality. 

All humans live. All humans die. In the end, what really matters is the journey that we all take while we're living. It doesn't matter if you become a successful billionaire or a struggling pauper. It doesn't matter if you get to live your dreams or be a recluse that loves to watch shows all day. As long as you're satisfied with your life's journey. That's all that matters.

At least, that was what I was trying to convey in Spirit Immortal.

Remember when I said that I wanted to finish this story because I wanted all of you to see my ending? The ending that I created was to show what my thoughts were about mortality. The life of a mortal, the journey that said mortal would take and finally… The end that no one can escape from. Spirit Immortal isn't a story about Immortality like other Wuxias. It's a story about… Mortality.

I'll be the first to admit. I lost control over the story of Spirit Immortal halfway through writing it. The original storyboard was for Shin to have a single drive (Ariel's resurrection) to carry him all the way to the ending. The ending that would reveal that the Immortal Realm doesn't exist and they were all cogs in a wheel to power the World Spirit. However, as I wrote more settings, introduced more characters, the storyline became more convoluted.

I'm an author that doesn't like to keep things rigid. As I keep adding new things into the story, it would morph whatever narrative I'm trying to write. Kanari's introduction as the secondary love interest was the major turning point for Spirit Immortal as well. I'd initially thought of Kanari as a friend character that was ultimately there only to fuel Shin's growth and to eventually meet Ariel. However, as I'd thought about it… Would Shin really behave that way when a beauty and good-hearted person like Kanari was chasing him? Was love truly eternal and could Shin only be single-minded about one person till the very end.

Then there were more realistic scenarios that I could think of which broke Shin's motivations. Even if Yggdrasil was real and Shin resurrected Ariel, he would still be a mature adult while Ariel would be a fifteen-year-old girl. Was that really realistic for Shin to ignore Kanari, a beautiful woman who had been chasing him when he was a hormonal youth, for a future with an uncertain Ariel.

And finally, I wanted to put in the family aspect into Shin's cultivation life. Family was an important aspect of all human beings. It's what fuels our evolution as a race and what drives us to live yet another day. So, Shin has to have a family before he ascends. So that he could make the final decision that he made at the end…

To not return to Earth and warn people that Immortality was a choice that Shin had to make. The world needs to have this cycle. Cultivators trying to ascend to Immortality, only to become energy for the new generation to rise up. That completes the evolution cycle of the Spirit Immortal world and Shin can only understand that if he has children of his own.

I've hidden many clues throughout the early books about the true nature of the Immortal Realm as well. Remember in Book 1 when I said the Spirit Immortals "burst into energy?" Also, in Book 2, the Mushinkei, the Frie Clan's house in Chilyoja Waypoint, means "Godless" in Japanese. And who could forget the easiest clue that I gave you all? Dexsot Teinost? Literally you can rearrange the words to form "It does not exist." Yes, yes. Very similar to the Harry Potter one with Voldermolt, but still! None of you got it! I even made it clear that I like scrambling words around with the Frie and Awter Clan all the way back in Book 1! 

Challenges
The challenges of being a writer, particularly an online one, is a completely foreign concept to me when I first started writing. I began to write because of my love of it and I'd thought that it would be easy. There are literally thousands of stories online and they each had their own unique flair. Some of them were terrible, some of them were masterpieces. And well… I got inspired by both types.

The masterpieces made me fall in love with stories. The shit stories made me realise… Anyone could write. Particularly online when there were no gatekeepers like traditional books. So even someone like me, who has bad English and horrendous storytelling skills can actually write something to the masses. 

Thinking back, I really was young and naive.

The most challenging part of being a novelist isn't the lack of time, which believe me, I was always swamped. It wasn't even the social toll that it takes. I had to give up many social events or at least plan ahead many weeks because I stuck to this daily schedule of releasing a chapter a day. 

The most challenging part of being a novelist is… Writer fatigue. 

There were so many days that I just couldn't type a single word. I didn't know how to pen my story. I didn't know how to write my settings. I didn't want to write anything because of how burnt out I was… I lost all my love for Spirit Immortal after consistently writing about it for two years. I couldn't bring myself to the keyboard, distracting myself with youtube videos and other entertainment means.

I would miss the days where my fingers would dance on the keyboard. I remember there was once I wrote a thousand words in an hour, and ten thousand words in a day. However, at my lowest point of my writer's fatigue. I couldn't even write a thousand words a day. 

That's why as the story neared its end, the quality kept dropping. I couldn't bring myself to write two thousand words a day, which was the limit I placed on myself and could only come down to a thousand words. It was heart-wrenching, knowing that I was responsible for the dip in quality in Spirit Immortal, the story that all of you readers spent your valuable time to read. 

I could spin a thousand excuses. Not enough time to write. Meeting up with my friends. Real-life obligations. Real-life work comes first. However, all in all, the main reason why I couldn't write… It's because I was tired. I was falling out of love with Spirit Immortal, even though it was the story that I dreamt into reality. I wanted to keep writing, but the author inside of me didn't exist in the shape that he used to be in.

BUT! I'm glad I faced all of those challenges, particularly with my first long-form novel. I now know what challenges lie ahead of me and I know what I must do from now on. To not just grow as an author, but as a person as well. 

Lessons learnt
Major lesson learnt… Spend more time storyboarding, and less time writing. A chapter a day is all well and good, but if the quality is shit, why bother? So I decided from here on out. I will no longer be releasing daily chapters. Maybe I'll be releasing three or four chapters a week, or even less. I can't tell you for sure right now. This is to prevent burning out once again.

Writing is not equal to authoring. I'd thought that as long as I crafted a good story, I could be a good writer. However, I now know that I'm shit at writing. My English is bad, and my execution is subpar at best. So I will be learning more from other novels to hopefully bolster up my bad writing skills. I will keep evolving, or at least, that's my hope. I will come back a better writer that could flawlessly execute the marvellous stories that I crafted in my head.

The Future of Linodo
Easy. I'm not quitting just because I'd finished Spirit Immortal. I will be continuing my second story, "When the Lilyflower Blooms..." while writing my new standalone book which I had been putting off for the longest time. I won't be returning to Wuxia/Xianxia books because I realise I'm not cut out for this genre. I can't write the 1000-2000 chapters that the undying Chinese Authors can. I can only go for so long before I burn out. 

So Lilyflower will be my comeback in an alternate genre, magical reality. I plan to write Lilyflower for about 100-200 chapters, 300 max. I don't want to keep my story never-ending and open-ended. I just want to make sure that the journey is fun for all of you. 

I won't be writing a Spirit Immortal sequel or any short stories from here on out. If I want to move on, I have to close this chapter called 'Spirit Immortal' from my life. If you guys want, you can privately message me about the theories of Spirit Immortal and I'll be sure to discuss anything that you want. However, for the most part, my creativity will now be focused on Lilyflower and the other stories that I have conceived thus far.

So yeah… That's it for Spirit Immortal! I hope you've enjoyed these two years as much as I did. No matter what I say about this story, no matter how much time I've lost writing this and spending my heart's emotions on it… Spirit Immortal will always be a part of me. It would be a story that I would return to every once in a while to laugh at my young mind and enjoy thinking about forever after.

Over a million years ago, the first human contracted with the first Spirit. Ever since then, Spirit use has become commonplace. Humans used Spirits to carry items and start fires. It was a secret only she had known. Even her closest friends didn't know about this certain furtive. And it wasn't because Esmeralda did not want to involve anyone in it, it was simply because she preferred her other life—the one all the people outside had known—at bay. Esmeralda regarded freedom as something very important. Her privacy and freedom, to be exact. 
 
She had a Polish mother who was long gone, and a father who didn't really care for anything except grounding her up. Esmeralda's thirst for the things she regarded the same as rare jewels were reflected in her big secret. She didn't want her life as Esmeralda Sanders, the girl who constantly stuttered, that nerd with an awkward short stature—to interfere to who she was in that big secret she made.

Under the pen name Scheherazade, Esmeralda had written a huge hit web novel. It harbored so much views and was popular in just several months. It was still on-going with about fifty chapters at most. She was writing in her spare time as an assistant biologist while she writes the novel leisurely. 
 
Scheherazade was a popular author with a million followers in just a few months. Those in the writing community had known both her and her works. Scheherazade was BOTH a fantasy author and a reader. She often gave feedbacks to other books, which had aided her popularity over the course of just a few months.
 
Esmeralda's work, 'Andromeda: The Lost Princess' was a huge hit online that some publishing companies were emailing her with offers of illustrations, mangas, and even movie adaptations and animes! These certain happenstances made Esmeralda more secretive than before. Her pen name, Scheherazade, must only be exclusive to her and no one more.
 
She knows how her family would react to such news—and she doesn't want to get started with her father. Esmeralda also did not like the fact that her life will intermingle with that of Scheherazade. She had taken all the precautionary measures in order to hide her identity. Some fans were already digging through her profile to find clues on who she was. And unsurprisingly enough, her fans already got their hunch on where she was. Even her nationality! 
 
Sometimes, people can be creepy.
 
Esmeralda took the name Scheherazade from a Middle East story character. Esmeralda was fascinated with the story of the girl named Scheherazade from the book One Thousand and One Nights. To have her life spared by the king who was meant to kill her by dawn, she told him a story so exciting that he wasn't able to kill her and instead had urged her to continue. Upon telling numerous exciting stories, which lasted a thousand and one nights, Scheherazade finally succumbed to her fate and die by the king's hands. But this was averted because he already had fallen in-love with her.
 
The name Scheherazade was deeply engraved with Esmeralda's heart. She wanted to do the same thing as this female protagonist. To tell stories until she finally accepts what will become of her. To unleash her ideas until her final moment. This is why Esmeralda chose such a certain pen name. 
 
Scheherazade was her biggest secret.
 
Which is why she was so flabbergasted when all of a sudden, her whole cover has been blown.
 
How in the world did Berthold Wagner find out she was Scheherazade? Her Twitter and Instagram name—right, they were the same and boring 'Esmeralda' but how? Just how did someone easily find her?
 
Esmeralda wanted to kick herself. She should've just denied it. But she didn't know what to do. The doctor just blurted it out so suddenly when they were in the president's mansion. She didn't know how to handle the pressure.
 
Esmeralda took a deep breath, and then began to type on her laptop. 
 
Andromeda: The Lost Princess
A sword was pointed to Lancelot, who was now thrown off the ground. Before him was a panting young lady, a grin slowly creeping to her delicate face.
"You lost, Lancelot." Andromeda extends her arm to Lancelot, and then both of them smiled at each other.
"Yes, princess. I did,"
"For the hundredth time, I defeated you. But you're holding back," Andromeda says. "Why is that?"
"Because you're . . ."
"A girl?"
"The princess." Lancelot corrects. "You cannot be doing this. You should be studying, learning music, drawing . . ."
"But I love swords."
"Yes, but . . ."
"And you permitted me to have one,"
"That was because I—"
"You even gave me tips."
"I—"
"Lancelot, it's your fault, you've been spoiling me."
Andromeda laughed heartily. It was the time she was happy, even if no one but Lancelot came to visit her in the lone tower.

"I'm meeting father?" Andromeda asks excitedly. "I'm meeting my family now, Lancelot?"
Lancelot nods. "Yes, you're eighteen now. And your debut will just be a matter of time. You won't be staying in this tower anymore."

"I'm sorry, Princess."
"Why—" Andromeda covers her face with her bare hands. "Why must my family hate me? Why can't I meet them, Lancelot? Why do they want to keep me in this tower?"
"Princess . . ."
"Ever since I was born, I was stuck in this tower for God knows how long. I was raised here by nursemaids without the sign of my father and mother. Only their picture had been the one I've ever seen their faces. . ." Andromeda sobs. "I only wanted to be with them . . ."
A few pages more . . .
"You—why are you not on your tower?! Lancelot . . .!"
"Father—I—"
"Get out," the king says. "Get her out of here now. Imprison her to that tower! Why are you not doing your job, Lancelot!"
"Im-imprison?" Andromeda repeats. "F-father, it's me, Andromeda—I—I just want to meet you . . ."
"LANCELOT!"
"Understood," Lancelot says, and seizes Andromeda by her waist, and then walked away from the king.
 
 
"Andromeda, what did you do?" The knights ask with a slight tremble in his voice; in his hand was a corpse clad in a bloodied, luxurious robe. "You murdered the king!"
 
"Let him be, Lancelot," Andromeda says coldly. "Let his blood bathe the throne. His rule now ends."
 
"King Arthur . . . my king!" Lancelot grieves. "Andromeda, how could you . . . how could you do this to your father?"
 
"Merlin chose the wrong king," Andromeda says. "Guinevere chose the wrong husband,"
 
"And you, Lancelot," Andromeda points her sword to the grieving knight. "Was wrong to trust me,"

Oh, right, I have a story to tell.

Oboe sipped his 11th cup of coffee, the only source keeping him awake from the two days he spent concluding the mystery he was solving. Oboe didn't know which mystery it was; he lost count after solving his 714th mystery. He bristled his thick, dry hands across his rough brown hair. He tapped his ballpoint pen on his coffee mug repetitively. His bloodshot eyes darted across the clues on the cork board in front of him. He violently marked the board with a red marker. He was confident in his thoughts and actions. Oboe finished his coffee and slammed his mug on his table.

"I'm finished!"

He raised his arms in victory and spun in his chair.

"Uh..."

"Oh yeah, C... do-"

Oboe passed out, and C smiled.  

Oboe passed out countless times after solving a difficult case. C started as Oboe's trainee, and he was supposed to begin his detective work. But C was special. C started as an art student and applied as Oboe's assistant because he liked reading mystery manga. His visual intelligence was almost unmatched, and slowly, he became a valuable partner to Oboe.

C slowly examined the corkboard with his eyes, and he ran his smooth, manicured hands through what was on the board. He took out a small notebook and neatly wrote down his thoughts with a small, black pen. His writing was perfect, almost like a typeface. Almost.

In the year 2040, a group of rich and powerful criminals create Metronome, a program that can emulate reality. In Metronome is a detective named Oboe who is a master at solving crimes. Their goal is to find and replicate a crime that Oboe cannot solve before they are caught. 

The setting in Metronome is based on New York.
