Hello everyone, I will be using this 'Chapter' to update you guys on a few things. This update section will be where I inform you about major changes coming to The Assassin's Blessing. My editor may also appear and give tips about my own mistakes and botched writing that's getting adjusted. 
The Assassin's Blessing has about 100 plus Chapters that are unreleased on Webnovel and I've been using Webnovel's Inkstone website to edit and adjust The Assassin's Blessing's plot, writing style, and sequencing. With that out of the way, I hope you all enjoy this interaction between you(the reader) my editor(Who will be going by Mista D), and I The author.

1. Changes to the introductory period and sequences.
 1a) The first few Chapters will be redone with a different style of writing.
 1b) The first time I read through the first draft of The Assassin's Blessing, I saw a lot of good and bad. Thomas, the author has been working a lot on this since I've seen seven months ago. A lot has changed in terms of his own personal skill as a writer. So before he releases anything more I asked him if he wanted to redo the story with his current skill and oh my god, you can hardly tell it's the same author. -Mista D
 1c) While this is just being used to test the reception of the Assassin's Blessing, I still don't want to release a bad story with bland writing on Webnovel. So I said yes to Mista D's proposal to redo the book. And I just want to say I love his reaction. Haha
2. Major changes to story characters and plot.
 2a) The story takes way to long to get going to the point that's we're at right now, For Webnovel at least. So I'm trying to increase the amount of progress made in the story.
 2b) There are a few parts where the story feels stagnate and uninteresting to read. So I coached Thomas on several techniques to improve the story and condense it a little. The first draft is 489 pages long... This isn't unheard of by any means, but it is hard to find publishers that will actually print and market such a long book from a first-time author. -Mista D
 2c) Yeah, the first draft was a doozy of a draft that's for sure. It is also the draft that I was releasing on Webnovel. Mista D and I are very invested in The Assassin's Blessing. To the extent that he is more than just an editor. He's a co-author and mentor to me. 
3. Consistency and story elements.
 3a) How far is Gregoria from Greendale? Roughly speaking, two hundred miles, there are times where even I wonder. I wrote the first draft without a map to pinpoint these things down on. So consistency took a hard hit from it.
 3b) As an editor, we look for a lot inside a book. But I personally look at four main things. Plot, Character, Setting, and Conflict. All of these things have to stay consistent in order to make sense. The later chapters of the book are so full of these little 'wait that doesn't seem right' moments that it's hard to tell if the later chapters are even the same story as the introduction. The magic system is the biggest part of this which is very common when dealing with things outside of reality and physics. -Mista D
 3c) I deserved that... When the first draft was made, I was going purely off of memory for who, what, when, where, and why's. I'm glad that Mista D asked me to rewrite it and thus, I will be re-releasing The Assassin's Blessing on Webnovel before continuing on with a bad story, starting from page one.
Final notes; I hope you can stay with The Assassin's Blessing and this amazing story, we both hope to have everything set back up by the end of July. Then we will release the updated version as it is written. Thank you all, I just don't want to give you a bad story. Updates to the currently released chapters will be small, mainly consisting of small changes to writing and small plot changes. By small plot changes, I mean small.

Welcome back, young daoists! Today we will be touching upon a topic near and dear to every starving daoist's heart. Advertising.

Of course, "shamelessly advertising"? No! You are just providing a source of entertainment for anyone who is interested...

Maybe a young daoist like you has never heard of the term "advertising"? It's a quite simple and easy task, but getting people to actually read your story is something else. Here's a few tips on how to provide a source of entertainment for anyone interested.

1. Comments

Let's say you're on a story like "Transcending The Nine Heavens" and see a few comments enjoying the story. You should comment something like this:

"I like Transcending The Nine Heavens too! The update per week is soo slow though. I'm working on a similar story called "Insert Cool Xianxia Name" with a chapter per (you choose) and it currently has (please don't advertise with 5 chapters). See you later, fellow daoist. 

With this comment, you have indirectly said 'Come to my story, add to your library and give me power stones.' without actually saying that! Foolproof technique.

2. Social Media/Discord

If you haven't joined Discord, I recommend you do! You should then join the official Webnovel server and Inkstone Writing server. Using a legendary technique crafted by me, you will be able to get more viewers.

Open Discord > Webnovel > Start Interacting

This one requires a lot of skill, as not every starving daoist can actually communicate well. Fear not! This will hone your skills, give you an idea of what authors and readers are like and open new gateways to creating your own server for your novel. 

So basically, don't shamelessly advertise to advertise on Discord! Only do it when the moment is right and casually mention your novel. 
TLDR: Don't be so pushy! A man just wants to read..
3. Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?

This is only for the most desperate and starving daoists. It is seriously not recommended to torture yourself like this unless absolutely necessary. After all, who would want to let the world know they write on Webnovel? Just one look at it gives a 'weaboo' vibe and will scare most narrow-minded people off. But, if you have willingly chose this path, it is expected you know what judgement stems from it. 

You should casually mention you write something and have a friend check it out. Make sure you're not writing a scene where the MC gets his head chopped off on the first chapter or that will scare some people away. Here's a good way of saying this to your real life friends:

"I've been thinking of getting into writing, and I'm writing on a website called Webnovel. My story is called 'The Dao of Filler' you should check it out! I think you'll like it."

If you were not profusely sweating while saying that sentence, good on you. Let's just hope your friend won't be absolutely shocked when they read the absurd titles of popular novels and quickly close the tab...

Hello every one and welcome to my story. I am here with one announcement and two warnings.

Announcement: I have ZERO artistic talent and as such an looking for anyone to make a cover for this book. (note this is not my main email and as such will not be checked regularly unless i receive word that you have sent me a cover)

First: Writing is NOT a first priority for me and as such there will not be regular updates and you can expect long Hiatuses from me. (possibly multiple months at a time)

Second: My writing is no were near where i would like it to be. As such i would greatly appreciate constructive criticism, tips on how to improve how the story is written, and if you could point out any mistakes (grammatical or semantics) it would help me a lot.

First of all, thank you for choosing my story. It's my very first time writing a story so there may be errors like  Grammatical mistakes and others. But I'll try my best to write it in my best level. Oh. And I'm not a native English speaker so..... my English will not be good. 

The story, as you have read in the synopsis, is a typical story. But my own version of it. It may be similar to some other that you have read. But that's also how I got the ideas. So, I may have taken a few tips from them, but 95% are my own ideas.

I've been busy editing some stuffs from the previous chaps. Not to worry, I did not change anything, just 'clean' some errors and patch some plotholes. Especially the errors my allegedly alive Keyboard did.

this is kinda of late but whatever. 

so....  I'm a high school student so I have to study for midterms and finals. so it's hard for me to update. also if my grammar sucks I'm sorry. Also for this story/novel I'm using my phone so.. you could tell how that goes and the autocorrect barly work so I'm really sorry. Right bow um debating whether to continue this or not.
SO WHY AM I WRITING THIS?
at first It was for the badge. But then I started to have a lot of ideas of how the novel should be  and plots and so I just continued with the story. Secondly it was because when I'm reading a story or a novel i would always think if the characters should've done this or if the story could end up with a certain idea that I had. So... I am going to continue my OG Isekai story called Battlefield Restart (Edited), which I decided to make the main three works of my Gaiaverse along with 'An Adventure Beyond Greatness!' and its sequel that has been conceptualised as a more Accel World kind of Isekai where the MC goes back and forth between works but grows as he gets back to his original.

Here's a synopsis for those who don't know it:
'After retiring from the battlefield, my life became empty and lifeless. The regrets of my past haunt me in my sleep. Then a change occurred, a King from another world summoned me to fight for his kingdom, but I died even before I could give him my answer. Now, after a fake God allowed me to reincarnate (albeit imperfectly) with my memories intact, into a world filled with magic and swords.'

It was supposed to be a one-off gag at first where I made the man complain for the first chapter, get un-alived via Summoning, then reincarnated into the body of a baby Mushoku Tensei style.

I've retconned it a whole bunch of times over the years, lost two other accounts, and now have to work with only being able to 'see but not edit' the others versions of it online. Though the story is written in first person and is the first work of mine that has ever gotten popular over the years, it is something I put heart into as the story progressed.

The whole beginning section was written in a generic Isekai way with a God literally explaining stuff to our MC in the second and third chapter before doing regular Isekai stuff on the fourth.

I'm not sure if it can get the 'unique and creative!' label other Isekais do but it's well-written now considering how many edits it went through. The first 40 chapters basically build up and end a mini-arc where most questions are answered.

I you don't like introverted badass old geezer of a soldier who acts childish in his second life because he's not diligent and scum that way then you'll probably be disappointed as there had always been a clear theme to this story about irrational fear. How it can help survive the battlefield but can't do anything when it comes to relationships.

The main character isn't a paragon of virtue nor a complete arse as he can practically be summed up as antisocial due to his past life. He was good at being a soldier and listening to orders, but wasn't exactly someone who 'lead' in his past life.

The larger plot has yet to be kickstarted but the smaller character-driven events are still going great with the biggest being the relationship he has with his little sister who is a different kind of abnormal compared to him.

I like 'Skill Trees' in Power Systems and this story also has that vibe with the MC practically 'cultivating' his main skills by himself. There's also a Duke's Daughter with what is essentially Sword Creation Light Magic and the likes.

If you feel like this kind of story, then please check it out. There are also some blogs I added at the side that have Writing Tips or other topics that I just felt the need of writing out of boredom.

The story is the third entry in the trilogy of Battlefield Restart but is being written as the direct sequel instead. The events of Battlefield Restart 2- An Adventure Beyond Greatness, are contained so there isn’t much to be missed by skipping it.

This novel is about an Author being sent into the nightmarish world he writes due to his destiny. The main character of BR 2 appears but isn’t focused on much, as this is about the Omniscient Writer’s story.

Vol. 0 is skippable and isn’t essential to the story as a whole. Only something there for extra info.

Like many of you, I'm a sucker for a good pokemon fic. Unfortunately there are so many of them out there that pretty much everything you think of has been done already.

So what can you do to stand out?
... 

Starting locations
Notice how many people start their journey in the same starter town, despite the fact that the majority of the people live in the larger cities of that region? 

Switch it up a little!
Have your MC start on one of the Orange Isles, Cerulean City, Lavender Town or whatever. Those trainers that hand around a gym in the games and city? 

Why not make the gym leaders distributor's of starting pokemon of their specialty in their municipality?

Want a specific pokemon? Make it an option to simply buy pokemon online just like you can buy cats n dogs off Craigslist, but make it a licenced trade!

You don't need to start in Pallet Town, or the equivalent there of in any of the regions, but if you do consider basing your story on a different character or SI into a different family.

Aren't you sick and tired of always reading about a variant of Ash Ketchum? Why not SI as Gary for a change? 

He's rich, and whilst he doesn't have a 'milf' that we know off, there's nothing stopping you from going after Ms. Ketchum anyway.

If an 18+ fic is your game, then consider genderbending Ash and applying whatever your stash consists of early to explain why she's tagging along.

Superpowers
You want super powers? Of all the Aura using fics I've read, not once did its trainer truly justify the need for it. In the end it was just useless greeble to fill up the word count with self gratification.

If you want a useful superpower that's available in the pokemon world, just make your character psychic. The versatility of that in the pokemon verse is about the same as that of Jean, aka. Phoenix from the X-men.

Psychic in Pokemon means everything from telekinesis, to complete mind fuckery. Something that is even seen in the anime with the psychic who trapped her own parents inside her dolls.

You could, even talk with your pokemon if that's your thing, and if it's not, you can just make it a one way connection or something like a mental language barrier.

I sure as hell wouldn't want my Pickachu to share its thoughts if I were Ash, telling me my mum was right and that I should have packed more clean underwhere because I smell. ;)

Financing
Something most people wonder is how the hack a Pokemon trainer could possibly sustain themselves financially, if they're not draining their parents dry.

A fantastic way to add dept to your character, and make them seem more competent is by tackling this issue with how you would do this.

Here are some ideas I would do:
- Vlogging
- Mini Series
- Stock footage (film, sound and photography) 
- Poketube channel with Trainer Hacks (tips, tricks & tutorials for all you do from pokemon to outdoor survival, to how to shoot that stock footage)

- Collect Sponsors
- Merchandise 
- Automated  Webshop /w Commissions

Hell, if your fic is an 18+ type you could even include the oldest profession or make outdoor videos of that nature.  

There is literally tons of stuff you could do in the pokemon world to earn an extra buck doing what you do anyway, that you can do IRL too. 

If you're writing a darker fic with an evil MC, you could even go for blackmail, theft, extortion and other mobster like activities to fund their travels.

Travel Efficiency
One of the most stupid things in Pokemon is how there are so many cheap long range travel options that people seem to forget. 

Its like wizards in Harry Potter. They have magic, and instantly lose their minds for any and all logic. 

If you have played the games, then you will know all of the fast travel options and if you know the anime, you'll be able to point out even more. 

- Flight

- Teleport (Butterfree is psychic and should by logic be able to learn it, and if thats your super power then so could you. 

- Riding your pokemon ( Arcanine and Ponita for example in kanto) 

- Riding a bicycle / mountain bike, motorcycle, car etc. 

The thing is, if you wanted to, every rooky and noob could catch a catterpie, train it up and once it evolved into a Butterfree, teach it teleport and you could spend your sweet ass in your own bed without lodging costs each night.

You could have breakfast at the kitchen table with your S. O. Or family. Something that really puts in perspective the absence of logic in the pokemon world.

Your character could make an awesome fic just by showing off logic in how to tackle these common issues that apparently the pokemon fanbase seems to be unable to sole as well!

... 
Set an unique handicap or goal for your character. 
Instead of following Ash his example, why not become a water pokemon trainer like misty originally intended to be? 

Set out to prove your preferred type's superiority over others, become a gym master or elite four yourself. 

Why not go out and charge down the realism route? 

Make pokemon dangerous, like some of the darker pokemon fics, where people are often found dead in the wild as the result of a bandit or pokemon attack. 

Sensationalise the Dangers of veridian forest, Mount moon and places like it, add mysteries like a serial killing samurai kid slaying people with his bug pokemon in the forest out of some self induced eco terrorist like agenda. 

If you ever turned on the news and saw a piece about an animal attack, then you know what sorts of things you can enter pokemon wise. 

Hell you can make traveling by sea dangerous because Gyarados have a taste for human blood and other such things. 

There is so much you can do to add to your story in the pokemon world, and there are so few people who think to take advantage of it.

Last but not least, Trainer Ages. 
Why bother mentioning an age at all? Does it add to your story? Is it vital for you to know the age of a Pokemon trainer? It's a handicap when you insert it and a good way to get the FBI kicking down your door type of jokes or outright complaints of people saying something is not even possible at that age. 

Another thing I never understand is the need to start a fic from birth or even before that and cover the entire childhood of your character, when it usually can be summed up with: this is x, x is a reincarnated person with super powers and he found Z pokemon as a kid and befriended it. 

People easily take 10 or so chapters to describe their characters childhood only to run out of steam and drop the fic before they even reach the first gym. 

10 chapters to describe they're Reincarnated, Can use aura and have a riolu or some other pokemon that doesn't belong in the region the story is placed in. 

All the while the entire story to that point can simply be put in a single first chapter that starts the day their pokemon journey at an unspecified age starts. 

How hard is it to summerise it to:
"My name is Randy Ketchum, the randy, reincarnated twin brother of Ash Ketchum that's been training to use Aura with the Riolu I encountered in my childhood. 

I'm excited to start my pokemon journey, tough I will miss the 18+ moments I had in secret with my mom."

That is like the majority of all published, aura using reincarnation SI pokemon fica with more than 10 chapters summerised in 2 mini paragraphs. 

If you're writing a fic. Don't waste your energy on childhood. Invest it on the actual time and space the show covers.  Because as you can see, your long conversations with your pokemon about aura and you tapping your mom are all dust in the grand scheme of things. 

Dust that no one misses when you sumerise the childhood to a funny, quirky introduction that gives people the lay of the land and allows you to move on to the real story.

Thoughts and Idea's with regards to fanfictions, builds for characters, weapons and more.

I'm not an author, my interests in a concept don't last long enough to write it and I am admittedly not the strongest in writing a decent dialog.

I'm someone who is Hyper Aware of a lot of things, and one of them is if something severely lacks. Whilst I can do art Inspite of that, I just can't bring myself to write dialog that doesn't feel perfectly natural.

That said, I do often write drafts for stories, sometimes I even manage a chapter worth of dialog that any author would be proud to own, but when it's about the baseline that I achieve for my dialogs, then I prefer not to publish.
