The winner of my prompt was a book that is now on hiatus. No other entries qualified. At the time I didn't realize that having votes was the rank qualifier. So my book was instantly disqualified.
Despite not making it past the car park, so to speak, I kept this story going. I had moved it to Wattpad and continued to post chapters there.
I entered it into a Wattpad community award, and had eventually won the award for Historical Fiction, but never received the prize for it. 😆
That's okay. Knowing that my writing was enough to be a winner in a judge's eyes was cool. It won over some quality stories as well. That was a prize enough for me.
After some time, I started posting the story to Tapread where it picked up read interest there. Then I got a ping from Islinda who liked the lone chapter I had left on the book page.  
This story has been a blast to write. I'm proud of what I've been able to achieve with it. I have no regrets of what I leave behind, as I have given my best shot.

Guys I made this story to join from contest I previous Writing Prompts Contest 123: Female Lead - Werewolf Sighted on Campus! But now it's already end and I think I don't make make it. So if someone reading this story of mine cause I'm planning to not update it every day since I have another 3 story and it's my priority cause I join it as well in the contest. I stand up and take a bath and move fast as I can since it's already ten minutes before her class starts.

As she got out of there house she run fast so she can't be late.

I really hope that my power comes out already like the other teenagers at her age but maybe because her father is half only her changing form comes delay.

Hey, guys.  I have some unpleasant news to discuss.

I first created this novel to enter a biweekly writing prompts contest hosted by Webnovel.  Starting three days late,  I felt that I didn't have time to create a proper outline for the novel so I hopped right in.  This has resulted in a myriad of problems popping up with regards to story progression and the overall quality of the book.

Now that I have a bit of time since the contest is over. I want to work on a few things before the novel gets too far along.  I'll mainly be outlining arcs, villains, power progression, character development, and reworking previous chapters so that they're grammatically better and easier to read.

I can not stress this next point enough.

THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT THIS NOVEL WILL BE DROPPED. 

It's just that I'll be taking a break from this story to work on a few other projects that I've thought up.

[Earlier that day]

Initially, despite seeming friendly and amiable, Albert had been silent for the entire journey. Sam had tried to talk to him and ask him questions repeatedly, but the man just smiled, clammed up and looked out the window to watch the interesting trees and trees and more trees pass by. How exciting!

However, the moment Sam pulled out her lunch snacks, she noticed from the corner of her eyes that Albert was staring at her food and drooling.

(What a foodie...) She looked at him from the side of her eyes in disdain; like a pot calling the kettle black.

"You want some...?" She offered her Le Gateau a'la Broche to him - a caramelised chunk of bread-cake baked on a stick - but he looked away; showing a surprisingly cute tsundere side unbefitting his mature mid-30's looks.

(Did he just "Hmmph!" me...?!?) She looked incredulous and aggrieved at the man's slight of her offer of food. (No more for you!) Then she continued eating on her own; offering some to Snowie who also gave her a "Hmmph!" and turned around in disgust.

Dejected, Sam continued eating but immediately turned to smiling happily as she chewed on the Le Gateau a'la Broche prepared by Helga; who had prepared amazing pastries; withdrawing them from the piping hot clay oven in her forge. An amazing part-time baker alongside being a full-time blacksmith.

Yet as she ate, she could see the middle-aged man staring at her again with eyes of longing, desire... LUST for food...

"Shtop shtaring! Jyou're sho rude! Jhon't jyou haf jhour own fvood?!?" She shouted at him with food still in her mouth; spraying bread fragments and saliva on his face.

"Sh-shworry..." She apologised loudly as he wiped the saliva and bread fragments off. But as she STILL had food in her mouth, she re-applied a fresh layer of spit and food onto the man.

"...."

It was silent for a long while after that. Sam felt so bad, she almost lost her appetite. Almost; but she didn't lose it - so she still continued munching on the bread-on-a-stick.

Then reluctantly, she took out her 2nd last stick of the broche and shoved it at the man.

The man reluctantly accepted, showing a "I guess I'm forced to" face and sighing as if he had done her a big favour. She felt irritated - she had given him a gift more valuable than gold (her food), but he showed this kind of reaction?!?

So Sam smacked him on the head.

"Ouch!" "Ouch!"

Both Sam and the man cried out in pain - the man's head was hard! But so was her fist...

"....."

Again a long silence; with just the sounds of two irritated "kids" chewing their food. And a satisfied kitten laughing at them - until Sam knocked Snowie on the head too.

Then it was 2 irritated "kids" and one cat attached to a girl - with it's teeth latched onto her head.

Sam and Albert were huddled together with the rest of the non-combatants in the enclosure of the circle of carriages, looking relaxed as they sat and shared snacks.

The defenders had chosen to setup in a wide clearing; the treeline at its closest was nearly 80m away. This would allow their archers time to release at least 2 volleys of arrows to slow down the charge of the orcs on their wargs.

Snowie continued to hiss at the man; keeping her distance; but otherwise, they looked like a cheerful couple enjoying a picnic.

Now and then the other caravan members would give them strange & questioning looks - but they soon ignored the two, shaking their heads and muttering that maybe they had already gone mad with fear.

As they waited for the orcs to arrive; the 6 mercenaries had spread themselves out along the perimeter of carriages. 4 of them were melee fighters - the robust and short Khadir with his battle-axe; the rotund and baby-faced Jho Low with a pair of stiletto daggers; the tallest and most muscular Matilda with a greatsword and the well-proportioned Ragnar with mace and shield.

The other 2 members were a male silver-cloaked mage with silver eyes who spoke in archaic sentences such as "How mayest I aid thou?" and a hooded archer of indeterminate gender perched in the trees above them.

(They'll probably die soon anyway...) Albert sighed, not bothering to assess the mercenaries strength any longer.

(Now, how do I get myself out of this sticky situation...) He looked at Sam. She WAS pretty strong - but it would be unlikely they'd make it out alive against the level 12 Shadowmane.

Sam - the focus of his line of thought - continued humming happily; playing with the aggravated Snowie's front legs. The kitten - now a small cat - kept trying to snap at her with her sharp little teeth - delighting the young girl who burst into peals of laughter. 

"Shhhh!!!!!!" She was met with more furious glares, this time even from the guards and mercenaries...

"They're here!" The tall scout shouted; causing the defenders to raise their weapons in preparation.

Two by two, the orcs emerged from the forest. Unlike their usual approach and barbaric charges, these orcs were disciplined, silent - militant in their bearing. Slowly, all 37 of the orcs emerged; together with their leader - the jet-black skinned Shadowmane.

Two thirds of the orcs were mounted on wargs; the mounts equaling their riders in ferocity and battle potential. The remaining third were on foot; bearing various signs of injury - signs of a recent struggle where the group had lost their mounts; and probably many of their number. A normal hunting squad had as many as 60 warriors; while Shadowmane's group was known to have nearly 80.

With the differences between humans and non-humans cultivation methods; orcs as well as many other living creatures did not gain levels in the same way as humans did. However, this did not mean they were weaker - but instead, even a normal member of their species could be stronger than a trained human. 

For example a land wyrm; even without intelligence or skills; would be stronger than a level 15 human elite; while an ancient shambler; a sentient force of nature born from the earth, trees and hills; could tear easily apart half a dozen semi-divine knights!

A normal adult orc had rippling muscles and the strength of level 5-6, while a seasoned warrior adept at blade, hammer or axe could be as high as level 7. Yet from just a quick glance, it was clear that even the youngest, weakest orc in Shadowmane's group was far more ferocious and muscular; being at least level 7-8 - while the sharp-eyed experts among them were stronger; up to level 10.

And all these might orc warriors who could vie for a chieftains seat; willingly submitted to their raid chief - Shadowmane.

Shadowmane was called such because he had killed a level 12 fully grown Shadow Lion barehanded and was wearing its mane on his back as a trophy. And that was a story of 10 years ago; after which his power and notoriety had only grown greater and greater. By now; it was unsure just how mighty a level his personal strength had reached!

The mighty raid chief sat mounted on his white warg about 120m out. Despite him being in range of the archers; none of the humans dared nock an arrow - their hearts and spirits were already being suppressed by the orc's battle aura.

"Khadir, my old friend... Do you think I'll get to see Letitia again...?" Paulos asked the shorter man at his side.

"Definitely, old man! But, sadly... Maybe not again in this world..." Khadir replied in a half-joking, half-morbid tone.

They were standing at the front of the caravan guards and mercenaries; lined up as the orc raiding party trickled out of the forest.

The battle had not started; but they both knew it was just the calm before the storm.

"Hah! Haha! Hahaha!" Khadir began to laugh; the heavily built warrior's habit when nervous. Paulos chuckled too; then his eyes bulged as he saw a young lady in a dress walk past him relaxedly; as if taking a stroll in a flower garden.

Spluttering in the middle of his laugh when he saw what his buddy saw. Khadir grabbed Sam's shoulder and yelled at her, saying, "Young lady! Get back to the carriages!"

Sam turned to him, a look of astonishment on her face. What was this frail man saying?

"Did you hear me? Are you stupid, deaf or crazy or all three? Get back, RIGHT NOW!"

Shocked at the spluttering and irascible man, Sam involuntarily took a step backwards; sulking. "I just wanted to help... Why is he so mean...?" She whispered loud enough for everyone to hear.

Then she trudged back to the carriages, pulling out a snack to munch on; ignoring the furious Khadir and bemused Paulos.

"I won't care about you smelly old men anymore!" She muttered (very loudly) to herself (to everyone).

Temporarily shaken by the interlude with the young lady; Paulos and Khadir's gazes grew focused once more as they turned to face their opponents - as they heard the orcs' come to a halt; their formation complete.

* * * * *

After a moment; the orc chieftain spoke. "Lat marr voz?" Despite his voice being thunderous and booming; he spoke with poise and eloquence - merely in a language none of the humans understood.

Stunned at the unintelligible words that sounded like a question; Khadir and Paulos exchanged a glance. "Do you know what he's say--"

"LAT MARR VOZ???" The orc roared ferociously; startling the men and horses; while the huddled people at the centre cried out in fear.

As they waited, the orc's face turned more and more ghastly; as he bared his teeth in rage.

Then it was too late for any further thoughts of what his words meant.

"Bul-TAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRR!" Shadowmane bellowed a warcry; signalling the beginning of the furious clash.

"BUL-TARRRRRRRRRR!" Echoing his cry, the orcs descended like a storm.

Currently, almost fifty children surrounds me and introducing themselves with big happy smiles. After the first two dozen arrives. Another two dozen rushes over out of nowhere. They're age ranging from five to twelve year old and all wearing swimming attire. I could only nod and smile back at their earnest introduction of their names.

Then, after all the introductions are done, and all the names of the kids memorized, a few older teenagers comes over and asks the children nearby to make space for me. The seven young adults then all line up and bows in a synchronize. Four boys and three girls. Strangely some of them have exotic hair colors.

"It's nice to finally meet you All Father," one of the oldest looking teenager, a boy around the age of sixteen with dark blue hair says so with a solemn smile. It seems he's the leader?

"We apologize for our younger sibling's behavior. They're too excited to meet you," another teenager girl with golden hair speaks up.

"Oh, I don't mind," they are just cute kids anyway.

"All Father. As you might have guess, we only appear here to introduce ourselves within your dreams. We did it as so your rest would not be disturb in such a way," another teenage girl speaks up. She has dark purple hair.

"Now, that we have establish this.....I will introduce myself first," an orange hair teenage boy says so quickly.

"Hey! I thought we agreed it's me first. I'm the oldest here,"

"I didn't agree anything on that!."

"Yeah! Just because you're the eldest doesn't mean you can boss us around," a red hair teenage boy speaks up and points at the eldest son. Soon, all of them starts to quarrel among themselves, while the little children before only laugh at them.

"Quite! You guys are being disrespectful towards the All Father," one of the teenagers who hadn't speak anything before, suddenly shouts at them. He have a sleek dark green hair with spectacles on. With that, everybody clamors down and sits quietly on the sandy ground.

"Now, I'll begin the introduction first," with that word everybody gives him a ridiculing look.

"My name is Vert. I'm the third eldest,"

"I'm next! My name is Jaune. The second eldest," the blonde hair teenage girl quickly speaks up. The black hair teenager raises her hand up as if declaring she's next.

"My name's Violet. I'm the fourth eldest," following her example, the next one raises his hand as well. It's the orange hair boy.

"My name is Koralle. I'm the fifth eldest."

"M-My name is R-Rose. The sixth eldest," a meek looking pink hair teenager raises her hand nervously.

"My name's Rouge. The seventh eldest," the red hair boy points at himself with a thumb.

"Finally, it's my turn. My name is Ciel. The eldest," so these are the oldest children I have among all of them. Wait, Kahu says there's more than a hundred. There's only almost half of those here.

"Umm, I heard from Kahu that there's more than a hundred. So, where's the other?"

"Well, the other sixty eight couldn't find a space in here. So, they have to wait their turn. Also, some of them are still too young," my first daughter, Jaune explains. Sixty eight more! Just how many kids do I have here?

"Umm. How many sibling do you guys have?"

"All of us are exactly one hundred and twenty," Vert replies confidently.

.......!!!!

I desperately need child support. Probably, upon my reaction the numbers, my eldest son promptly speaks up.

"No need to worry, All Father. All of us siblings take care of one another. We have been from the start since your slumber," Ciel quickly extinguishing my worries. Even though, I quite consider myself still young to have kids but, I can't complain now that I have such precious children now can I?

"But, still I'm the father of all you. I need to take my responsibility as a parent here."

"We know you want to but, you need to rest more, All Father. Probably, after you arise from your sleep then you can do so for us," Violet says softly. I still want to speak more about this matter of caring the kids but, their pleading gaze prompts me not to.

SIGH

"Alright," this is not me trying to run away from responsibility.

"Anyways, there's something I've been meaning to ask from the beginning. I've created all of you to take on any desirable forms you guys want but, how did you guys know how take these forms?"

"We construct our form from the memories and dreams you have, All Father. All of our current forms comes from this dream you have right now," Vert explains.

"So, the form you've taken are all duplicates from the memories I have?"

"Yes! Do you like this form of ours, All Father?" Koralle looks at me with eager eyes. Actually, all of the kids behind and the other teenagers look up at me while waiting to be praise. 

"Of course! Everyone of you looks so amazing. Truly amazing," Looking at all of them reminds me again that I now have kids. Children that I need to nurture when I finally become awake again.

They all cheer and smile at my words. Their innocent looks on their faces truly makes me want to protect them, even though I've just only met them. Is this how parents feel when they see their children for the first time? This sense of becoming a guardian and tutor for them.

Wait, matters about tutoring them. Isn't always better to teach them really early? I know that some of them have grown into young adults but, they still need tutoring and guidance. Also, even though that they just claim that they can take care of each other but, a lesson from a parent is still crucial.

The only way I see of working through with this is by teach them now in my dream. Tutoring within a dream, eh?

In another part of the universe another Mu was sitting down beside a fire with a monocle in his eye.

"Hahaha I'm not Mu, Author I am simply a forgotten segment or some shit being used here to talk about something." The Not Mu said.

The Not Mu got a book from a shelf and looked directly at the Author watching him.

"It has come to my attention that a certain website on which our book is published has made a new writing prompt competition." The Not Mu said while opening the book he got out.

"It is titled "Writing Prompts Contest 116: Male Lead - Entertainer in Another World", now this in itself is not the coolest part. The best part is in the ideas section where it says,"1) A former world-class singer wakes up in a world filled with fantastical beings and magic. They soon find out that their voice and songs are magical in nature in this new world where bards exist. How will they make use of this? How will this world respond to their power?"Not Mu said and after he was done he closed up the book and looked right at the readers.

"Now I don't know if you've read the story up to this point but I mean...come on. I'm not mad website on which this story is published in fact I just want to know who on your staff likes my story because that is badass." Not Mu said. 

"I don't know if this is normal or not but it's definitely cool," Not Mu stood up and ripped off his mask revealing himself to be the Author.

"I didn't want to make myself a body in this world because I didn't want Mu to be able to meet me, but I had to come down and say thank you I have had this story bumping around in my head for years and I just had to write it I didn't expect 10,000 people to find this concept as interesting as me." I wiped a tear away from my eye and said," This may not sound like a lot to some people but that's more people then I have in my city (I think). So thank you." Author signing out.

I can’t really explain this story but it does have an overpowered main character, a super huge world, and a talking abyss.

Haruto throw a piece of rock on the window of the apartment. 

Clang!

The window was shattered immediately as soon as the rock collided at its surface. 

The sound it cause made the zombies turned their heads to look. The zombie slowly approached the apartment with uneven steps.

Seeing this, Haruto took a deep breath. He jumped forward and run in the opposite direction of the zombies as fast as he could. 

He run faster while carefully looking at his surrounding. He doesn't want any zombies to notice him. He wasn't prepared to fight any of them, plus with their numbers even if he have a weapon he doesn't have a chance to win.

Luckily for him, he was very athletic. He arrived inside one of the apartment in just a few seconds. He quickly locked the door behind him. 

Tap! Tap!

Haruto flinched as he heard a footsteps behind him. Rotten smell quickly assaulted his nose. 

He gulped as he slowly turned his head to look behind him. 

He saw a human corpse slowly walking towards him. It was covered in dry blood. One of its eyes was hanging outside of the eye socket. Its bloodied figure slowly moved towards him.

"Raaa!" 

A low growl escape from the zombie. It raised both of its hand attempting to grab him.

"Shit!" 

He raised his feet and kicked the body of the zombie.

Bang!

The zombie crashed in the table causing a loud sound. 

Black sticky liquid stuck on his pants when he kick the zombie. 

"Move!"

He quickly run towards the kitchen of this apartment. There, he found a kitchen knife. Then, he turned around and face the zombie.

He slashed the knife on the neck of the zombie before he stabbed it on the head. 

Putchi!

The zombie stopped its movement and fell down on the ground. All of this happened in just a mere few seconds. 

"That's first kill." 

He muttered as he wiped the sweat forming on his head. He was glad that he learned basic fighting skills before. To think that he would need it to kill zombies. 

He pulled the knife from the head of the zombie. 

He walked towards the window and took a look outside. He saw that the zombies outside were heading towards this apartment.

"That's too many." His mouth twitched while looking at the hundreds of zombies walking towards his direction.

Based on the movement speed of the zombies, it will take take atleast one minutes before they arrived here.

He quickly run around the apartment and found the backdoor. He slowly opened and looked outside. When he saw that it was safe, he exited the apartment and went to the neighboring three-story house.

From the far away building, a woman holding a telescope in her eyes was looking at this scene on the rooftop of a building. 

She saw everything that happened to Haruto. After a few moments, she brought down the telescope and looked behind her. 

"How is it?" A man in his thirties asked her. He was wearing a black tank top and navy blue pants with lots of blood stain. There's two handgun hanging on his waist. 

"There's a person near the southern entrance of the city." She said to the man. 

"Alive! How many?" The man was quite surprised hearing this.

"Just one person." The woman answer as she tied her silky black hair in a pony tail before she walked passed the man. She was wearing a fitted black shirt and military pants coupled with military boots. 

"One person, huh? Well, that person will not live that long." The man muttered in a low voice. 

...

Haruto stood behind the door of the three-story house. He moved quietly as he closed the windows and covered it with cabinets. 

"Okay, let's kill those damn zombies!" He said with a smile on his face as he started to walked around the house. 

He already learned his lesson from before, so he will find the zombie if there's any inside this house. 

He just need to be careful and he would be able to kill one or two zombies on his own. The movements of the zombies were simple and stiff. It's easy to predict their movements for someone like him who learned martial arts. He just need to calm down and those zombies were no matched for him. 

There's a room at his left side. He place his hand on the doorknob and slowly opened it. 

Swooosh!

Cold wind escape from the room and brushed his face. He shivered because of this. He bit his lower lip as he peek inside the room. 

He saw tons of can foods inside the room and a figure standing motionless in front of the open refrigerator. 

"There's electricity here." 

He was glad when he found that there's electricity in this house. He shouldn't think about other things as there's a zombie in front of him.

He carefully went inside the room and closed the door beside him. He then approached the zombie before piercing its head with a knife. 

Putchi!

Before the zombie fell on the ground, Haruto caught it in his arms as he doesn't want it to cause any sounds. 

He gritted his teeth as he lay down the zombie on the ground. While doing this, he felt his stomach turning upside down. 

Black sticky liquid stuck on his shirt and palm. 

"What the hell is this liquid?!" He cursed in a low voice as he stood up and cleaned his palm using a handkerchief.

He took out his phone as he felt it vibrated when he killed the zombie before. He looked at the system prompts that he received.

[Mission: Kill 500 zombies. Progress: 2/500]

[Gain 1 points for killing a zombie!]

[Gain 2 points for killing a zombie!]

"Hmm...? What's with this points?" He muttered curiously when he saw the prompts. 

He checked his phone and found that there's [Item], [Equipment], [Combat Arts], [Abilities], [Magic Spell],[World], [Forum], [Duel], [Guild], and [Ranking] interface but all of this were locked. He needs to finish the Newbie World first before he could unlocked all of this. 

There's no point in thinking about these things when he still haven't finished the Newbie World. He could only guess that the points were important to this game. 

He shook his and exited the room. There's a lot of can foods there so he doesn't have any problem in foods. He should worry about the missions instead.

He walked ahead and opened a room beside. He looked and found that this room was a room of a child. It was full of tottered stuff toys. 

There's a family picture on the ground. 

He noticed it and picked it up. He looked at it and saw a family of five people. They were all smiling happily but now he didn't know what happened to them. 

This zombie outbreak ruined all the lives living being in this world. Not just humans, it also includes animals as he saw that there's mutated animals in this world on his phone. 

Then he went to the second floor. He saw a figure of a woman walking. This woman was already dead. 

"The residents of this house were all dead." Haruto murmured in a low voice. 

This woman must be the mother of the family and the zombie he killed before was the father. 

He slowly approached the zombie and stabbed his knife on the head of the zombie. 

He's slowly getting used to this scene. Killing a zombie was slowly becoming a natural feeling to him. 

He lay down the zombie on the ground. 

If he's correct then there's three zombie left here in this house. 

"Huff..." Haruto took a deep breath and tightened all of his muscles.

"All right, let's do this!"

He tapped his knife on the metal pole on the stairs. The sounds was loud enough for people to hear it around the house but it wasn't loud enough for the people outside to hear.

He was going to wrapped up this. He's going to kill all the three zombies left. The children of the woman and man that he killed before. 

Soon, he heard footsteps from the floor above and the rooms ahead of him. A zombie walked out of the room and looked at him with crazy eyes. 

"I'm putting you to rest, so rest in peace." He said as ha dashed towards the zombie. 

The zombie stretched out its hands.

Haruto crouched down and slashed the knees of the zombie. 

Thud!

The zombie fall on its knees. He quickly stabbed his knife on the eye socket of the zombie. 

Putchi!

He pulled out his knife as he need to killed the other two zombies here in this house.

Haruto was bored of his everyday life. He wants to change something from him. 

He wants to go on adventures and discover new things. 

One day, someone send him a link to a game called [God World Game].

He installed the game thinking that it wouldn't brought him any harm. 

He wouldn't expect that this game would brought him a new things that he haven't experience before.

As he steps outside Kurrac is blinded by the light of the suns. 'Wait suns?' Kurrac looks up surprised to see not one but 3 suns hanging in the sky trailing behind one another. 'Guess this really is a new world'. Whistling he heads across the street before he realizes he has no idea where to go. Thinking he decides to call up his map. After trying unsuccessfully for about 3 min to find the map function he checks the manual for the tutorial he was given.

Travel, even through cities and towns is made much easier and more enjoyable with the proper tools. Who wants to get lost trying to find the way to the shop with all the little shinies? Navigation requires a map (comes in many grades and types) as well as a compass. More tools required for sea travel. These tools can be found with luck at general stores but higher quality products require visiting cartographers which are located in major cities and some larger towns.

'Well that sucks. Oh well no use crying over spilt milk. And seriously, what's with all the snark on these prompts? It's kinda funny though" Kurrac thought to himself. Looking up he sees a guard patrol of 4 level 13's led by a level 21. 'Huh, that's weird why can I see there levels?' Rushing over he politely draws the guards' attention. 

"Excuse me sir. If you have a moment I have a few questions."

Seeming a little annoyed the group stops. With a long suffering sigh the lvl 21 speaks, "Well, I guess we can help since you asked so politely. Most of you Travelers seem to think yourselves to be some highfalutin Nobles entitled to demand answers to any inane questions you might have and then just leave as soon as you get said answers. Without so much as a thank you might I add. Hmmph! Anyways what didya wanna know?"

A little shocked at first at the very real frustration he felt from the guards especially the one he assumed to be the leader Kurrac finally manages to respond, "Well I'm truly sorry for the behavior of those like me. My name's Kurrac Darkscale. My father from my always said a man or woman should give others the same courtesy one would hope they showed their own mother. I was just hoping to find a place to purchase a map and compass as well as a tent and maybe some other camping supplies. I've only got 15 silver."

"No, you're right, Kurrac was it? I apologize for the rant you yourself did no wrong. I am 2nd Lieutenant
Mikael Wolfrider, formerly of the nomad  Wolfrider Orc clan. As far as your request you won't be able to purchase all that with only 15 silver. Let me think for a moment."  

As he stood there wondering what he should do he saw a couple of gnome children, a boy and a girl maybe 5 and 14 respectively, fencing with wooden swords on the packed dirt road.He starts smiling as he sees their simple innocent joy. Then he notices what sounded like a yell in the distance. Turning he sees a man on a wagon barreling down the street. Terrified he lunges forward shoving both children  as he feels  a sharp throbbing pain and hears a disgusting snap.

'So that's how Will works. I guess that explains the pain. I hope the kids are ok. Wait why did I jump in front of a crazy fast vehicle for a piece of code?' Looking over at the kids that the guards had surrounded he sighs, 'Well I guess this doesn't seem like a bunch of ones and zeros to me. Besides is my life for at least another 2 decades so I might as well make the most of it and be the person I want to see in the mirror.' 

He hears the frantic voice of Lieutenant Mikael rumbling "....you thinking Elise! James and you could've died! What would your father think? He only has you now that your mother's was killed by the goblin horde 2 years ago. How could you do that to him?" Turning Mikael saw Kurrac lying half in the road as blood began to seep through his pants. 

Turning to a guard beside him he growls, "Private Jeremiah, find what whoreson is responsible for this and have the mercenary guild post a bounty of 2 gold. Dismissed!" Standing he walks towards Kurrac pulling a water canteen and a packet of somekind from his inventory ring. "Here, tier 1 bone-mending powder and some water to wash it down." 

Taking the offered items he throws the powder and takes a swig simultaneously. Suddenly feeling like he's was going to puke he starts to gag.

"Hahhahaahaa! Tastes like week old dirty socks doesn't it? I'm half convinced that they're an actual ingredient in them, although Alchemist Silvern denies it. Anyways thanks for your help with that shitstorm. I have to say maybe not all you Travelers are of a bad sort. You at least are a man worthy to leave my back towards. And I just might've thought of a way to help you get most of what you need aside from the map."

Glaring at Lieutenant Mikael, Kurrac starts to grin then has a deep full bellied laugh, "My money's on your sock theory being right. Anyways thanks for the powder. Also I didn't do this for a reward, but thank you anyways."
 
As he tries to stand one of the guards come forward and offers him a hand. They all crowd around thanking him and then the little boy and girl come crying and hug his leg saying thank you for saving them. Kurrac had always wanted siblings but due to the issues with the company and his own health his parents decided not to try for more. 

Looking down he smiles while rubbing the tops of their heads, "I'm glad I was here to help. I understand having fun and getting distracted. But y'all need to be careful where you do it. Play in safe areas like your yard or under an adult's supervision so you can stay safe. I've only just gotten to this world and I can already tell it's a rough and very dangerous place. Just try and be more responsible so y'all can play even more."

"Yes sir." sounding suitably chastised and blushing the kids nod there heads as Kurrac watches them try and dry their tears.

"Ok, enough crying. We're going to see your father." Seeing the children about to protest Mikael holds up his hand as says in a stern officer voice, "None of that. You know you aren't to be playing in the street and frankly you're supposed to be in school right now. Besides your father should be able to help your young savior here so he can spend some nights with relative comfort in the woods."

Turning to Kurrac he continues, "Their father is the gnome Quartermaster Heimdall. He should be able to help especially with you saving his brats. He'll be fair anyways and maybe even a little nice..."

Hearing a couple guards snort and one start choking as the Lieutenant smirks, Kurrac couldn't help but wonder what he got himself into. 'How bad did I really need a tent?'
