Scroll was once mentioned to have gained her ability because she always sought knowledge by reading. But what if there was also something else that could have influenced her abilities?
This is a short fan fiction of a short piece of Scroll's past when she was young and had met a man who had also loved books.

Maybe it was the cheerful atmosphere in the air, or maybe it was all the chaos drink that she had consumed throughout the night, but something inside of Scroll made her want to speak up and tell a story. 
“I’ll go next,’ Scroll spoke up after the previous story. Everyone looked at Scroll expectantly. Out of everyone here, Scroll should have the most memory to remember all her encounters and all the things she has read. Surely her story would be everything but boring.
And slowly, Scroll began to recite her story.

In participation of the RTW fan fiction contest. I was one of those kids that received participation awards because I didn't excel in anything.

The black raven entered the room through the air vent in the window and shrouded itself in a cloud of grey mist. It then transformed into the mysterious black-dressed woman. Link was completely stunned at the sight.
Is this person here to silence me? What have I gotten myself into? 　　
"Relax. I mean no harm," the woman said. Link could indeed feel no malice emanating from her magic aura, nor any suspicious fluctuations that may hint at a sneak attack. She did not even hold a wand in her hand.
Nonetheless, Link was still alert.
"I don't think a person who barges into my room so late at night would mean no harm."
Eleanor smiled, accentuating the alluring charm of her beautiful face. She walked to the only chair in the small bedroom and adjusted her sitting position until she was comfortable.
"Just to be safe, I was observing you the whole time; you are of no threat to me, and similarly, I do not want to cause any trouble in Hot Springs City. Furthermore, I specialize in secret magic, if I truly meant to cause you any harm, I would not even appear in front of you. What do you say?"　
If they were not in Hot Springs City, Eleanor's normal procedure would be to bring Link back to her Mage Tower for interrogation before erasing his memory. That was what she had done for most of the humans she had an interest in.
However, that was not possible here. Link had a Level-6 Magician living beside him and there were many other Master Magicians roaming around town. Furthermore, Link was pretty powerful himself—she had to speak to him as though he was her equal.
Link thought for a moment before putting away his wand.　　
"So what business do you have here?"　
Seeing that Link was reasonable, Eleanor was immediately in a good mood.
"We are all here for the Magician's Fair. Although the fair will not start until tomorrow, I would like to make some transactions with you in advance," she said.　　
"Oh?" Link was intrigued. 　　　
Even though Link was still wary, he maintained a calm composure and no longer displayed any signs of hostility.
Eleanor admired Link's ability to hide his emotions. She took a scroll out from her dimensional ring and said, "I have a magic scroll containing a Level-4 spell. I will give you this in exchange for your Whistle spell. What do you think?"　　
Exchanging a Level-1 spell for a Level-4 spell was simply a bargain under normal circumstances. However, Link was not a normal human being. If he truly wanted to learn a spell, he could simply purchase it using his Omni Points. He also had access to the complete collection of Herrera's and Anthony's magic books. The Level-4 spell thus had no value to Link, at least not as valuable as the Level-1 spell Eliard and him spent so much time and effort creating.　　
It was a one and only Level-1 spell that was created through their combined efforts.
Link shook his head and said, "I have no interest in exchanging them."　　　
Eleanor was taken aback, "You should probably take a look at this. This Level-4 spell is called Psychic Shock and was enchanted with my original Supreme Magical Skills. With this spell, you can attack the spirit of all enemies within a 240 feet radius and devastate their willpower."
Link was even more unwilling now. He said, "I am not interested in such spells. By definition, this can already be considered dark magic."
In the World of Firuman, any spells that directly attacked the spirit was forbidden. This was due to the devastating side effects of those spells which could destroy a person's soul.
The death of the physical body was not something that was feared, as many believed that their souls would finally attain peace in heaven after death. However, the destruction of the soul was different as it would destroy your existence itself, something that was way too horrific to even think about.
Link had no prejudice towards this type of magic, though, he would not personally learn them. This was due to his fear of being even exiled by Magicians of the East Cove Higher Magic Academy.
"Okay then." Eleanor put the scroll away and asked, "What do I have to offer to see the magic structure of your Whistle spell?"　　
Link was curious as to why Eleanor was so persistent in learning the Whistle spell. He thought for a moment and said, "Something that is unique, I guess."
"What a greedy man!" Eleanor smiled and took out another scroll.　
The scroll was brown in color and was enveloped in a glorious silver hue. When Eleanor brought it out, the atmosphere in the room seemed to have stagnated. Its magic presence was so overpowering that Link immediately felt his heart and mind grow heavy, as though he were pressured by an intangible force.
"This is?" Link did not expect a scroll to have such fearsome power.　　
"Do you know Bryant?" Eleanor smiled with pride, much like a sly fox who had successfully baited its prey. 　　
"Of course!" Almost all sentient beings in the world would have heard of his name. Why else would he be heralded as a Legendary Magician?
"This is the Scroll of Enlightenment that he had left behind. I can let you take a look at it in exchange for your Whistle spell," Eleanor offered.　　
"It's a deal!" Link agreed without any hesitation. 　　
Eleanor was not afraid that Link would run off with her Scroll of Enlightenment. She passed the scroll to Link and held out her pristine white hands, waiting for Link to pass the magic scroll containing his Whistle spell.　
Link handed over the scroll and opened the Scroll of Enlightenment almost immediately. The moment the scroll was opened, it was enveloped in a bright light and an intricate array of rune formations could be seen. The rune formation was formed from many shining light spheres, and each of the spheres was then formed by another complex set of runes.　
Link's attention was drawn to the shadows formed by the spheres. To be exact, they weren't even shadows, but runic spirals that were created by chaining tens of thousands of runes into a continuous line. It was a really advanced technique.
In the game, Link merely had to click read and wait for ten seconds before obtaining a permanent stats increase. However, in the real world, he had to study and understand the scroll before he could get the benefits. 　
Epic quality scroll discovered, do you wish to scan and record? The in-game system asked.　　
"Of course! Record now!" Link ordered. This was way too complicated for him to read in a short time. He would slowly take his time with the scroll in the future.　　
The game system was extremely efficient. Link felt like he was in trance and after a few seconds, he could recall almost every detail in the Scroll of Enlightenment.　
The moment he was done, the scroll was snatched from his hand. Eleanor said, "I only said for a while. You have already spent way too much time looking at it."　
Link stared at the scroll in Eleanor's hands and said, "You're pretty lucky to find that scroll."
"Naturally. But your luck is even better. You possess the most precious gift known to mankind, and that is magic talent." Eleanor spoke with a hint of envy in her voice.　
Link asked, "I heard that there is a total of six Scrolls of Enlightenment and combining the six of them will give you a Scroll of Revelation. Do you know exactly which scroll this is?"
At this moment, Eleanor was looking at the magic structure of the Whistle spell. She answered with her eyes still focused on Link's magic scroll, "You are quite knowledgeable. Yes, there are indeed six of them and mine should be the second one. If you can fully understand this scroll, your Mana Recovery speed will at least double."
However, she had only allowed him to take a quick look at the scroll, making it impossible for him to obtain any tangible benefits. On the other hand, she managed to learn a powerful Level-1 spell. It was a good trade.　　　　
As it was a Level-1 spell, the magic structure was pretty simple. However, it contained subtle ingenuity and ground-breaking imagination; Eleanor found it extremely fascinating.

She then opened the scroll in front of Link. This time, Link studied the scroll carefully while verifying it with the image recorded by the game system. There were indeed no omissions, the game system captured every single detail perfectly.　　
It took a full three minutes before Link looked up, despite the original time limit of one minute. Eleanor looked at Link expectantly and said, "It has been three minutes. Shouldn't you give me something else in return?"
Exchanging a Level-1 spell for a Scroll of Enlightenment was an extremely good bargain. Link was in a good mood and chirped, "What do you want? I will do whatever I can to repay you."　　
"How about helping me craft an enchanted accessory? Something like the one you just showed your friend. The design is simply beautiful." Eleanor's eyes sparkled in anticipation.
She looked exactly like Eliard when he first saw the accessory. In fact, she looked even more excited and fanatical than him.　　
Link stared and Eleanor and thought, Despite her status as a Magician, the sight of intricate accessories does get her excited.　　
Link then recalled some certain classic jewelry designs that were popular on Earth and reprocessed them in his mind. After the design was optimized to his liking, he took out some materials and was ready to work.　
"Wait a minute; please use my materials."
Eleanor placed gold, thorium and a Cat's Eye Stone in front of Link.　　
The Cat's Eye Stone was the best conduit for secret magic and was extremely rare. Link took a look at the stone and said, "I do not know any secret spells and I won't be able to make full use of this rare stone. I do not want to waste such a high-quality material."
Eleanor hesitated for a moment before exchanging the Cat's Eye Stone or a fire crystal. The fire crystal had a pure luster and a layer of crimson fiery flame on it. It was much higher in quality than the one he snatched from the Magician Holmes.
"How about a fire elemental spell?"　　
"Is Flame Blast okay?" Link asked. It would be a waste to enchant a low-level spell on such a good quality material. He had to make good use of it.
"That would be great."　　
"Come back in a week." Unlike low-level accessories, high-level magic equipment will take a longer time to craft.

"What a bizarre world," Link couldn't help but exclaim.


Link was the top Archmage in the entire server. He had just defeated the strongest boss, the Lord of The Deep, Nozama with his party. However, instead of going back to town, he was transported to a secret location with pixelated CG. 

It sort of felt like a vacuum, and within it came a glorious and commanding voice that calls himself the God of Light. 

"Link, would you be willing to be the saviour who will pull the World of Firuman out from the churning abyss?"

What a huge mission! If it was in the real world, Link would have rejected it immediately. However, he was bent on being the hero in game.

"Bring it on!" Link answered confidently.

"Then, best of luck." 

And so begin Link's journey of magic, friendship, betrayal, love and despair in the ever changing World of Firuman.

The scroll seemed to be of some goatskin and a metal rod. It had quite the weight upon holding, but as Kieran touched the scroll, he realized it was unusually rough. It was definitely not something goatskin could achieve, more like a conglomerate of sorts.
However, soon enough, Kieran's attention was drawn by the words written on the scroll.
The contents of the scroll were written in mystical words, and at the very least, it required Master level to read what it wrote.

 Kieran was looking at the contents of the scroll. The number of tasks listed down there was far more than what was mentioned, and the types of jobs varied from saving the world to destroying a planet to stationing defense, searching, reconnaissance, and even becoming a tutor for training.
It's out of my league!
That was Kieran's first impression.

After the first two impressions, Kieran had a general guess of what the scroll was.
"Is this an item to publish missions for multiple parties?" Kieran asked.
"Yes."
"At first, I only hoped it would be easier for assistants like you guys to help me complete some tasks, but as time flew, some of my old friends noticed my easy way of solving trivial matters, and so they joined the fray. Then, more and more related parties joined the publishing, and in the end, it became what it is now."
"However, as its owner, my original motives will not change. Whenever an assistant completes any task on the scroll, I will consider it as helping me, and I will reward every one of you accordingly—other than the stated rewards that are." the old lady added.
"I must accept the tasks in the scrolls?" Kieran asked the one thing that concerned him the most.
"It's not mandatory. You decide for yourself whether or not you want to accept it."
"Regardless of accepting or publishing, I will never force any of my assistants to do something."
"Is there anything else you want to ask?"
"I know this is just an image of mine, but if I stay any longer in this world, dire consequences will follow."
Nikorei slowly stood up from her rocking chair.
"That will be it." Kieran shook his head.
"Then, I'll be looking forward to our next meeting."
Without any further chit-chat, the old lady, together with the study room of Black Street 1st, vanished from sight. Kieran returned to the northern mountains.
The scroll, however, didn't go with her, and it was still in Kieran's possession, and the system provided the details.

I woke up  in a forest in front of a river with an extreme headache but also a weird feeling , i look at my body and see that i am covered in blood i then rush at the water to take a look at my  body and what i see is shocking .

I see an extremely handsome young man ( in a beauty scale of 1 to 20 he is at 19 ) with green eyes and red long hair tied in a ponytail and i begin to panic 'What is this ? it's not my body who the hell is this guy ?!!' i thought

[Calm down host it is your new body , your old one don't exist anymore so i decided to give you the body of this young man named Xiao Long ]said the system

"Okay but who was that guy ?"i said

As expected, as a royalty, the Fourth Prince had safety measure given to him by his Royal Father. Unfortunately, the scroll activated by Chaotic Death made this safety measure useless. He didn't panic at all.

From the encounter before, the Fourth Prince felt that although Chaotic Death was stronger than him, he still could handle him. Moreover, he still winning the last encounter. So, a useless safety measure didn't affect him too much.

However, when Chaotic Death used the potion, the Fourth Prince became serious and frowned his brows. 30% increased in fighting capability seems not too much. However, if the user was high leveled, then 30% means a lot.

The Fourth Prince tried to seek for help, however, he knew the other also had their own problem. He didn't want to waste this item. But, he didn't want to die either. So, out of option, he took out an item from his armor.

It was a scroll. Obviously, this was not an escape scroll as all means of using escape scroll already rendered useless by Chaotic Death's scroll before.

As the Fourth Prince took out the scroll, he immediately used the scroll. The scroll tore out into two. From the tore part, a blinding light was formed and it shot towards Chaotic Death.

Effect: Decrease all enemy's attribute for one enemy by 50% for 1 hour or decrease 5 random enemies' attribute within 1 kilometer from the caster by 10% in 1 hour duration.

This scroll used was to weaken the enemy's attribute. It had two mode that the user could choose. The first that it was to decrease enemy's attribute by 50% for single enemy. The second choice was to decrease 5 random enemies within one kilometer from the caster by 10%.

The Fourth Prince felt that the officer and the royal troops could defeat their own enemies with their own time. It was only a matter of time. So, the Fourth Prince decided to choose the first option to decrease a single enemy's attribute by 50%.

The target of this scroll was his enemy he faced, Chaotic Death. The blinding light hit Chaotic Death. The increased attribute of Chaotic Death felt down much more than before.

Seeing his attribute getting down, it was Chaotic Death's turn to frown his brows. He took out another scroll and used it to the Fourth Prince. It was a similar scroll by what the Fourth Prince had used before a scroll to weaken the enemy's strength.

However, Chaotic Death's scroll was not as strong as what the Fourth Prince had used. It only weaken the Fourth Prince strength by 30%.

After these series of scroll using, their situation was came back to stalemate once more. He faced the Fourth Prince furiously, he gritted his teeth and he charged toward the Fourth Prince. The Fourth Prince stood at his place with his sword at his hand prepared to receive the attack.

A shadowy blur moved fast toward the Fourth Prince. The Fourth Prince focused out his attention to the shadowy blur tried not to miss the shadow's movement.

50 meters... 40 meters... 30 meters... 20 meters...

When there was still 20 meters distance between Chaotic Death and the Fourth Prince, Chaotic Death suddenly turned to his left. He went to the royal troops. Chaotic Death was changing his strategy. He knew with the Fourth Prince's nature he would not left his companion if it was not his last option.

The Fourth Prince caught off guard with the sudden event. He chased Chaotic Death from behind and tried to shout out as loudly as he could to warn his companions.

But, it was too late. The two royal troops had just killed the enemy, when they began to turn around and tried to help the other, a shadow attack them. One of them got wounded by this sudden attack. And, Chaotic Death didn't missed his chance.

As a thief specialize in assassination, he should know how to kill stronger enemy quickly without the enemy's could retaliate. Moreover, the target he faced now was weaker than him. In no time, one of the royal troops died. 

After the royal troop died, Chaotic Death began to change his target to the remaining royal troop. However, he didn't manage to kill this royal troop only injury him as the Fourth Prince already caught up with him.

Facing two enemies, Chaotic Death backed out. However, the Fourth Prince stick to him and didn't let him get away. He smirked evilly. This was what his target, to make the Fourth Prince chased him instead he chased the Fourth Prince. To make this camouflage better, he still kept on pretending to back out and went to the officers' battleground. The Fourth Prince was still chasing behind his back and the wounded royal troop slowly followed behind the Fourth Prince as he was injured.

The no. 1 player in VRMMORPG, Two Worlds, fall under the scheme of his lifelong enemy. From the top of the heaven he crashed to the bottom of the world.

Being laughed at and with huge debt in his shoulder he try to get his revenge and conquer the game so no one will looked down on him anymore.

"So dungeon master what are we going to do next to defend from this attack?" Tempest looks towards the ghost and asked.

"Hmmm, let me brainstorm a little." the ghost place his fingers on his chin as he thinks.

After thinking for quite some time, the ghost search the item shop for a very peculiar skill scroll.

He immediately bought 2 of the skill scrolls and made one of his summoned zombie and skeleton learnt it.

After that, he looked at Tempest and asked, "Do you have any preferences in magic type?"

Tempest tilt her head in confusion, "No, I don't have any preference."

"Hmm, what kind of weapon would you like to use? A staff? A melee weapon or range weapon?" the ghost rephrase his question so he could find a suitable skill for her to use.

"A range weapon, I think."Tempest didn't know what to choose, thus she replied with a slight hesitation.

"Hmm a range weapon, let me see." the ghost said as he begin browsing through the item shop.

The ghost came down to these few spells, after thinking about it, he bought the water bullets, blizzard and fire storm for Tempest and he bought a mana regeneration, a fire bolt and a ice bolt for the skeleton.

"Alright learn these spells head over to the training ground and trained them using the archery board until you knocked out, you should be able to level up these skills and also you should be able to gain a passive skill call max mp when you knocked out. Try to level them at least to level 2 first." the ghost explained as he passed the skill scrolls to Tempest.

"Okay."after listening to the ghost instructions, Tempest learnt the skills and headed to the training grounds to start practicing.

The ghost then headed over to the skeletons that were doing archery and made them learn fire bolt and ice bolt respectively. After that he begin getting them to take turns to cast fire bolt and ice bolt on one target while leaving the other target for Tempest. 

After passing the skills scrolls to Tempest and his skeleton, the ghost get the wraith knight to start training on the middle dummy with it's charge skill again before opening the dungeon layout mode to begin the remodeling the entire first floor of the dungeon.

First he added a 50m by 50m swamp in front of the current main hall. He then littered the entire swamp with weird statues and added the fog option into the swamp. Added some wooden crosses around the the entire swamp.

Next, he added a 4 meters tall by 3 meters wide double portcullis with metal gates as the entrance to the main hall. The double portcullis have a distance of 3 meters between them. He added a 2 meter wide ledge that is 4 meters tall around the entire 10 meters by 10 meters main hall. He added another 2 weird statues and moved the other 2 weird statues to the middle of the room, he placed them 4 meters away from each other and in a way as if the 2 pairs of weird statues were facing each other.  The entire front part of 14 meters in length protruded into the swap area. Feeling something was off, he added arrow slits along the front facing walls which were facing the swamps, where he could place archers to fire into enemies if he needed to. Then he added a cloudy sky and placed it on the ceiling.

(Total cost so far : 7500 DP + 50 DP ~ fog + 96 DP* ~ ledge + 100 DP ~ cloudy sky + 500 DP ~ double portcullis with metal gates)

* New ledge, 2 meters on each side = 14m by 14m - 10m by 10m = 196 sqm - 100 sqm = 96 sqm

For the hallway, he removed the first rooms door in the hallway and place a door in between the first rooms and the second rooms which effectively linked both of the rooms together. He then lengthen all the rooms by 2 meters to aligned them with the ledges and added in a staircase in both side of the first rooms that allows access to the ledges around the main hall. He then added in blue torches in the rooms and the main hall. Total expansion of the sides 2m by 9m x 2 which is 36 sqm.

After he was done with the draft layout, he recalled the skeletons that were farming in the crypts and get them to dropped off the weapons before getting them to guide the four animals into the dummy dungeon core room, where he then placed the water trough there and purchase some haybale as the food supply that were previously used as feed had all been consumed. He then summoned 4 more bone spears for the skeletons and get them to continue farming in the crypts.

After he started updating the dungeon, he headed over to the blacksmith to see what have to be done. As he entered, he saw a small mountain of weapons waiting for him to smelt down, shaking his head while sighing, he begin smelting.

The total number of bars he gotten from the small mountain of weapons, 20 iron bar, 12 steel bars and 4 mithril bars.

Since the ghost had finished smelting down all the weapons, he begin to used the steel bars to create a few wraith equipment to complete the set for the wraith knight. This is what he managed to craft.

After checking what it was the ghost then sent the wraith knight over to the blacksmith for reequipping. He then continued on in crafting iron armors for improving the skeleton equipment.

"What's the problem?" the ghost turned around and looked at her.

"I'm bored, can we play some games? Tempest and Kuro are asleep." Auriel said while sulking.

"Okay, I'll come over in a minute let me clean this up first." the ghost said, "Oh chibi can you use this random recipe coupon on the altar while you wait for me?"

"Okay!" Auriel said as she took the coupon while smiling.

 After the ghost cleans up the blacksmith, he headed over to the main hall to play reversi with Auriel.

An old man who died of old age, his spirit was transferred to another world and he became a ghost dungeon master in another world, and the first thing he saw haughty little girl, asking him to do things.

"Why did you took it off?" Asked Raito with curious expression.
"Because some... problems, Master," Answered Dog while his right eye brow was twitching.
"Hm," Raito nodded in understanding thinking that the [Teigu] wasn't compatible with Dog.
"What do you think we should do in this [Tengu]?" Asked Raito as he didn't care a bit on the [Tengu].
[Host can sell it to the System.] Suddenly the System suggested something good for Raito.
'Can I?' Asked Raito with a smile on his face.

'Hm? Isn't that Super Rare ticket? Why it looks like you are giving me that Ticket frequently?' Asked Raito, he was confused that the System is giving him many benefits.

Raito closed his eyes to calmed down, right now he was thinking if he ever get the Byakugan, peeping on Aria.
Again, Oblivious to him, he was crying with tears of blood, Dog who is currently watching his Master crying with tears of blood doesn't know what to do, comfort his master or leave him alone? In the end he decided to leave him alone.

"Let's use the Summoning Scroll,"  After Dog finally left the Room, Raito decided to formed a contract with the Snakes.
'Inventory' A RPG Inventory Transparent Screen appeared in front of him and there he found a scroll and under the scroll there is a written words 'Snake: Summoning Scroll', Raito pulled out the Scroll from the Transparent RPG Inventory screen then stared at it for a second.
[Host can just drop a portion of your blood on the seal and *BOOM*.] Said the System.
'Okay, thanks for informing me,' Raito was a person who thanked anyone if they ever help him, he is not an ungrateful person instead he hates them.
[Anytime Host.]
Raito bit his right hand's thumb, wounding it.
Then Raito drop a blood that coming from the wound of his right hand's Thumb to the middle of the Summoning Scroll.
*POOF*
As soon the Blood landed on the Seal, a Snake with 1 meter long appeared.
"SSS! Congratulations for making Contract with us, Snakes. SSS!" The 1 Meter Long Snake said.
"Hm," Raito nodded with a light smile, with the Snakes he can now do some Summoning Technique.
Raito is imagining about summoning a 100 Hundred Meters Long Snake and that is... awesome, that's Raito's thought.
